Paris Climate: Difficult to Get Out, But USA NEVER Ratified
| Copy link to current segment

Time Text
Paris Climate Accord.
And I've talked about it many times.
I said, look at what they did.
And I thought it was a head fake from Trump when I first reported it.
So he said, so I'm going to get out of it, but I've got to wait four years, and I'll do it right after the election.
I said, yeah, right.
It's just a head fake.
He's just saying he's going to do it, doesn't get out of it.
And that's what happened.
He got out of it right after the 2020 election.
And then in less than two months, Biden puts us right back into it.
And he fooled everybody.
Everybody said, he got out of it.
I said, no, he didn't.
Well, I came to realize that this agreement has a clause in it that says that you have to give them one year's notification and you can't do it until three years after you have gotten into The agreement.
And so, remember, John Kerry and Obama said, we self-ratified this agreement.
They did that in 2016. That's why Trump said, well, I can't get out until 2020. Of course, what's the logical flaw there?
We never were in it.
You can't self-ratify a treaty.
Senate has to do that.
And when I was looking at this, I thought, so what's going to happen again?
Are we going to start this four-year thing again?
Well, it turns out that it is...
Excuse me.
This is what the document actually...
This is what it's about.
How long does it take, what's the required time, to leave the Paris Climate Accord?
Pretending that you're in it, of course.
That's the key.
The process for a country to withdraw from a Paris Climate Accord involves a specific timeline.
According to the agreement's rules, a country must first notify the UN... Okay, we're in.
Put us under UN jurisdiction.
First, notify the UN of its intention to withdraw.
This notification is typically done through a formal letter to the UN. And after this notification, the country must wait for a period of four years from the date of entry into the force of the agreement for that country.
So here we go again.
Another four years.
However...
A country can only eliminate the withdrawal process after three years of agreement in force for that country.
So, they give an example for the United States.
For the U.S., a notable example.
President Trump initiated the withdrawal process in November of 2019. Which took effect on November the 4th, 2020, a day after the presidential election.
This timeline adheres to the four-year waiting period for the date of entry of the U.S. into the agreement, which was September the 3rd, 2016. Therefore, it takes a minimum of four years for a country to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord that it is entered into force for that country.
Well, we never entered into it, first of all.
What took him so long?
If you're going to abide by that and say we got into it, so now we've got to follow their rules to get out of it, that would have been September the 3rd, 2016. Instead, what he did was he did it a day after the election.
Wait another couple of months for that.
And so then I looked at this and I thought, but what about re-entry?
Does that reset the clock?
Because after Biden and Trump gets us out two months later, Biden puts us right back in.
So does that now a re-entry?
Well, I don't know, honestly.
But apparently, it's looking like no.
It appears now that with Trump's order that he just put out in his deluge of orders yesterday, it appears that we're one year away from getting out this time.
Except that we were never in it.
I can't stress that enough.
We were never in it.
And the only people to get that right...
Ironically, is the Guardian.
These people who do nothing but sell climate fear, that's their number one thing.
They harp on that all the time.
You know, the sky is falling, the sky is falling.
And they're the ones who got it right.
Nobody, nobody in the conservative or MAGA media got it right.
Nobody talks about how this operates.
Trump has signed an executive order directing the U.S. to again withdraw from the landmark Paris Climate Agreement.
This is AP, Associated Propaganda.
I like to read AP. Give me an opposition opinion, which is always wrong.
But he kind of tells you what the establishment position is.
AP says this is dealing a blow to worldwide efforts to combat global warming and once again distancing the U.S. from its closest allies.
Man, isn't that awful?
Trump signed a letter to the UN indicating his intention to withdraw from the 2015 agreement, which allows nations, it allows us, to provide targets to cut their own emissions of greenhouse gases.
It doesn't allow, it demands.
It's an imposition.
China and India were given exemptions, but not us.
We've got to immediately start cutting everything.
We've got to get to zero.
And we've got to be at zero before they even have to level off.
China and India can build as dirty a power plant as many as they want, and they're building two coal power plants a week in China.
This is insane.
We'll never have manufacturing here.
All of the stuff about tariffs is beside the point.
And he's going to continue this insanity, at least, for another year, pretending that we are in it.
They're pretending that CO2 is a problem.
They're pretending that we're in a treaty that was never ratified.
All of this stuff.
The emperor has no clothes.
And it is naked tyranny from these climate cults.
So it allows, according to the AP, it allows nations to provide targets to cut their own emissions of greenhouse gases from the burning of coal, oil, and natural gas.
Those targets are supposed to become more stringent over time, with countries facing a February 2025 deadline for new individual plans.
Okay, so...
We got a deadline, but it allows us to figure out how we're going to get there.
Is that what it is?
It gives us a little bit of wiggle room in that?
Folks, we were never in it.
Anybody who says that we were in it is either an idiot or a traitor or both.
That's not the way the Constitution works.
An architect of the Paris Accord added and said, Quote, there is unstoppable economic momentum behind the global transition, which the U.S. has gained from and led, but now risks forfeiting.
We didn't gain anything from this.
It has dearly cost us in terms of energy, wasted malinvestment, and corruption and crony capitalism.
Those are the people who have gained from it.
The International Energy Agency.
Expects the global market for clean energy technologies to triple, to more than $2 trillion in 2035. That means $2 trillion to people like Elon Musk.
That's what they're really talking about.
To produce cars that nobody wants, nobody can afford, and to ban the cars that we can.
That's what they call economic growth.
What doublespeak?
The withdrawal process from the Paris Accord takes one year.
Trump's previous withdrawal took effect the day after the 2020 election, which he lost to Biden, they said.
While the first Trump-led withdrawal shocked and angered nations across the globe, not a single country followed the U.S. out the door in those two months, as intended.
About half of Americans somewhat or strongly oppose U.S. action to withdrawal from the climate accord.
This is according to the AP poll.
They did a poll and said that only two out of ten adults in the U.S. somewhat are strongly in favor of withdrawing from the Paris Agreement, while about one quarter are neutral.
The vast majority want to stay in it.
That's how effective government public education propaganda has been.
China several years ago passed the U.S. as the world's largest Annual carbon dioxide emitting nation.
Well, they admit that.
And then they turn right around and say, yeah, but, you know, the U.S. has contributed nearly 22% of carbon dioxide put in the atmosphere since 1950. Shame on us.
We need to punish ourselves for that.
Forget about the fact that China is pumping it out at unprecedented amounts.
That they're the number one emitting nation.
Oh no, you gotta turn off all the heaters in Britain, right?
This is insane.
So, what's going to happen with all this stuff?
I'm telling you right now, Trump's going to come around, he's going to continue to play this game, just like he's pretending that we're in the Paris Climate Accord.
Can't get out of it for another year and so forth, but he's not going to oppose the fundamental lies.
About CO2 and global warming and all the rest of this stuff, or methane or any of it.
And his PayPal's are going to benefit, profit from this with crony capitalism.
They're going to be profiting from the carbon taxes, from the carbon credits.
From the carbon sequestration, you know, this is what Doug Burgum was all about.
And Trump has now created a new little agency, and he's put Doug Burgum, the king of carbon sequestration and carbon pipelines, he's put him in.
He had that little meeting with the North and South Dakota governors, Kristi Noem, Doug Burgum, and the guy running the pipeline.
They were all at Mar-a-Lago.
They've been planning this thing for a while.
So, in his order that he put out, It's called Putting America First in International Environmental Agreements.
In recent years, says this agreement, the U.S. has purported to join international agreements.
Whoa, wait a minute.
When I was reading through this thing, that's about halfway down the first page.
Purported?
Purported?
Webster's Dictionary says that when you say something is purported to be that, you say reputed, alleged.
The U.S. has allegedly joined international agreements.
But they won't say that we're not in that international agreement.
We've allegedly joined it.
We never did!
It is an allegation to say that we've joined it.
But we have not.
And so, in this order, it says, The U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations shall immediately submit formal written notification of the U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement.
We were never in it!
We were allegedly in it, but we are not in it.
It was never ratified by the Senate.
The U.S. will consider its withdrawal from the agreement and any attendant obligations to be effective immediately upon the provision of notification.
Within 30 days of this order, the Secretary of State, Secretary of the Treasury, goes through all these different departments.
Commerce, HHS, Energy, EPA, Agriculture, and on and on and on.
All of them will detail their actions to revoke or to rescind policies that were implemented to advance the International Climate Finance Plan.
Well, that's really good.
I hope they do that.
That needs to be revoked.
And that's some details.
And so this is all of government, because look, all the swamp, all the alphabet agencies are under the president.
And just like we saw Joe Biden in spring of 2022 say, everybody, give me your plans for how we're going to implement CBDC. Well, this is Trump saying, we're going to have detailed actions here.
to revoke the policies that were implemented for this International Climate Finance Plan.
Now, I don't know exactly what that is.
I'll have to look that up.
But still, Secretary of State, Secretary of Commerce shall henceforth prioritize economic efficiency, the promotion of American prosperity, consumer choice, and fiscal restraint, and all foreign engagements that concern energy policy.
Great.
Let's just tell everybody, though, that this whole thing is a lie.
Can we do that?
Can we tell them it's a lie, just like Christine Massey's going to show us how we were lied to about the virus itself?
Let me finish with this.
The Guardian.
And again, this is their headline.
A second U.S. exit could cripple the Paris Climate Agreement, warns a U.N. chief.
Let's pray that it does.
Let's pray that it cripples it.
Let's pray that it breaks both of its legs.
The Paris Agreement.
But as I said before, there aren't any conservative publications, libertarian publications, MAGA cheerleaders.
Nobody gets this right about the Paris Climate Accord, except for The Guardian.
And they just put this out.
I've been saying this for years.
We're not in it.
They said the Paris Agreement can survive, but people sometimes can lose important organs or lose their legs and survive.
But we don't want a crippled Paris Agreement.
We want a real Paris Agreement, said U.N. Secretary General.
Now, this is Guardian.
If the Republican candidate wins, so they said this right before the election, his administration could withdraw the U.S. from the U.N. climate negotiating framework entirely, according to reports, if he does so.
It could require Senate approval for the U.S. to rejoin.
Why didn't it require U.S. Senate approval to join?
Because they ignored the Constitution.
They self-ratified it.
And so again, they got it right.
In all cases, it requires Senate ratification to rejoin.
So, I was absolutely amazed to see them admit...
The truth here.
The U.S. became the first country in the world to formally withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord in November 2020 after Trump announced that he would leave in June of 2017. Due to complicated rules about leaving the accord, there was a substantial delay between the decision and the formal departures.
I just explained to you.
Biden rejoined the Paris Agreement on the first day of his presidency, January 2021. Michael Manure.
The climate scientist at the University of Pennsylvania that we sued, just like Christine Massey, we said, show us your data.
Show us your data.
I'm not going to show you my data.
I'll fight you in court.
And he did.
He won.
For Christine Massey, they said, well, we don't keep it.
Anyway, Michael Manure, a climate scientist at the University of Pennsylvania, said a second Trump presidency would be a serious blow to U.S. action on climate.
a second trump presidency is game over for meaningful climate action this decade and stabilizing warming before one and a half degrees c probably becomes impossible well let's hope that this pans out this way I'm still very concerned about the fact that we are adhering to the alleged thing about being into this climate accord.
We're not in it.
Hello, it's me, Volodymyr Zelensky.
I'm so tired of wearing these same t-shirts everywhere for years.
You'd think with all the billions I've skimmed off America, I could dress better.
And I could, if only David Knight would send me one of his beautiful grey MacGuffin hoodies or a new black t-shirt with the MacGuffin logo in blue.
But he told me to get lost.
Maybe one of you American suckers can buy me some at thedavidknightshow.com.
And David is giving a 10% discount to listeners from now until 2025. At that price, you should be able to buy me several hundred.
Those amazing sand-colored microphone hoodies are so beautiful.
I'd wear something other than green military cosplay to my various galas and social events.
