He says he did not ask her if she had Jesus in her life.
He just saw that she had an abortion.
He said, if you need any help with any of that, I know a group that does counseling.
In other words, if you're struggling with the fact that you'd had an abortion.
She was so offended, she got his license.
For that question.
He said, I wasn't trying to proselytize her.
This is a guy who has practiced for decades.
Dr.
Lucian Cox, no longer practicing, faced allegations of improper behavior.
Again, this is coming out of the UK. An LA gynecologist surrendered his medical license for allegedly hectoring a patient about Jesus and prescribing Bible study after she revealed that she had had an abortion 34 years prior.
Well, he says he denies all of this.
Again, they say allegedly.
The 63-year-old woman went to him for a routine exam.
The assistant first asked a series of preliminary questions, including whether or not she'd ever terminate a pregnancy.
She said she had back in 1987.
And...
She says that he asked if she had Jesus in her life.
When the woman told Cox that she was not religious, it says Cox asked if she wanted to go to heaven and avoid the devil.
None of this is – this is kind of – when I look at this – First of all, I don't believe it, because I think he would say it differently, right?
This is not Christian-speak, okay?
I know the Christian lingo.
I know what somebody would say.
They would not.
Do you want to avoid the devil?
Do you got Jesus in your life?
A Christian's not going to say that.
And so that rings just as phony as when Trump said, I just saw your sign out there.
1 Corinthians is one of my favorite verses in the Bible.
I was like, you phony.
Again, it's a shibboleth.
It doesn't make any difference, right?
And I subsequently found out that in the UK they do call it 1 Corinthians.
Yeah.
And two Corinthians and things like that.
But, you know, it's this little chivalent, like, you didn't say it the way we all say it.
But this is not the way we all say it.
You got Jesus in your life, you want to avoid the devil?
And so, what happened was, she files this complaint with him.
He denied making any comments, quote, about the devil or about going to heaven.
He said he is deeply religious, but he merely advised the patient who had had an abortion, merely advised her about a Bible study program that she might find helpful.
As always, he said, a chaperone was present during the exam, and nothing happened uneventfully.
So he's got a witness there to all of this stuff.
If he had gone to a tribunal before the medical board, his lawyer says he would not have lost his license, and he would not have been disciplined.
He said he's never been the subject of any prior disciplinary action during his lengthy career as a physician.
He has been an obstetrician, folks, for 45 years.
He began in 1979.
He is now 75 years old.
And he said rather than go through all of this hassle, he said, just forget it.
I've turned in my license.
I don't care.
I'm ready to quit anyway.
Rather than proceed to a costly hearing, he just decided to surrender his license as he had closed his office and he had been planning to retire anyway.
He further denied making any attempt to examine a second patient.
That was another complaint that was done.
He said, provide excellent care for thousands of patients in the LA community.
And of course, he always has a chaperone there to watch what is going on.
And as we see that kind of pushback, take a look at this.
In Idaho, a woman has sued the city over police harassment after she protested a drag show that was being put on for kids.
A 62-year-old Idaho grandmother, Darcy Creech, is suing the city of Sun Valley after she was harassed by law enforcement for speaking out against drag shows for kids.
The incident occurred at a June Pride Festival, which, despite being advertised as, quote, fun for the whole family, unquote, featured a sexualized drag show where children were invited on stage.
She reportedly fell into an argument with other attendees in which she made clear that she opposed children being involved in drag shows.
And simulated strip tease, and simulated sex, and all the rest of this stuff.
I wonder why.
You know, what a strange woman she is.
Isn't it amazing?
According to the Kootenai Journal, which reviewed the complaint, Creech's views drew the attention of Kyle O'Brien, a police officer on duty, right?
Yeah.
Except these Irish cops are not like the Irish cops we grew up with.
Footage from his body camera reportedly recorded him referring to Creech's opinion as, quote, unacceptable.
And he said he, quote, hated, unquote, the fact that she was protected by the First Amendment.
He said the quiet part out loud.
What she does, what she did does not fit the criteria for disturbing the peace.
Freedom of speech comes into it, and I hate that, he says.
O'Brien continued to seethe at Creech, and he said, quote, I don't like this because I'm a huge supporter of all this, the Pride Festival.
I'm not okay with this, so we're going to go talk to her no matter what.
And then he goes over to her and he says, I'm the city official right now, and you're not allowed to go talk to anybody.
He also said that he would report her and tell the chief that she's, quote, a person we need to be aware of.
Yeah.
Sounds like Dr.
Zhivago, when Dr.
Zhivago goes back home, and they've taken over his home.
He was a doctor.
He's wealthy.
He had a multiple-story house.
And they've been relegated to a corner of the attic.
And, you know, this communist official who's there is watching his every move, trying to get something on him.
And he's very cordial and obsequious and everything.
He goes up and he talks to His wife and family are glad to see him return.
And this guy's constantly watching him.
And then finally just says, you've been noticed, citizen, and walks off.
That's what this guy's like.
When she left the festival, Officer O'Brien reportedly followed her to her home outside the city limits and confronted her.
Although he admitted that he was not investigating a crime, O'Brien appeared in his uniform while armed with his gun and flanked by another officer.
Pacific Justice Institute, the non-profit legal defense organization that is representing Creech, said in a press release last month that she had no alternative way of expressing her opinion, making what she did protected by the First Amendment.
They said the First Amendment to the Constitution protects individuals from blatant government hostility and also protects those wishing to express potentially unpopular views.
The Pacific Justice Institute attorney said it is the duty of law enforcement to protect unpopular speakers.
Peaceful speech should never be the target of those who are charged to equally protect all citizens in the community.
You know, we used to see this demonstrate when Karen and I went several times to England, and we always used to like to go to Speaker's Corner.
On Sunday morning, you could – Sunday morning and afternoon – People would literally take a box, like people talk about standing on a soapbox and giving your opinions.
Well, they literally stand on a box and they would talk about things that were unpopular for the most part.
Sometimes you'd have somebody up there that was, you know, doing a comedy shtick, but that really wasn't the case in most of these things.
Most people were up there, they're passionate about politics or religion.
That's what people get passionate about.
And so they would stand on the box and they would say all this stuff and there'd be people in the audience and they would yell back in disagreement and things like that.
And when we went in 1980 and again in 1984, the police would be standing around and they would be there to protect the speaker in case they said something that got people angry enough that they would...
And then we went back in 2001 with the kids, and of course we took them to Speaker's Corner because we thought it'd be great.
Well, this time around it was different.
You'd have Christian speakers that were there, and they'd be talking, and there'd be a group of Muslims, there'd be a group of LGBT around them, and they're getting increasingly hostile.
And so there was a crowd, one in particular, this Christian speaker, and there were a lot of Muslim men.
And they were really getting visually agitated.
And I saw the cops that were there, the Bobbies and so on.
And they've got, at that point in time, they weren't carrying guns.
They're now become more like American police officers, but they had walkie-talkies and stuff, and they're starting to whisper into their walkie-talkies, their lapel, and more and more of them are starting to come up.
So I said, let's get out of here.
Something's about to happen.
But they're going to protect the unpopular views of a minority person.
That's what free speech is about in a free society.
Now what has happened in the last 25 years, what has happened is you've seen over and over again, the cops now arrest the unpopular Christian speaker.
And we've seen this happen many times.
I played the clips several times on the show.
There's no tolerance for free speech anymore.
Everybody feels that it needs to be shut down.
The Common Man.
They created Common Core and dumbed down our children.
They created Common Past to track and control us.
Their Commons Project to make sure the commoners own nothing.
And the communist future.
They see the common man as simple, unsophisticated, ordinary.
But each of us has worth and dignity created in the image of God.
That is what we have in common.
That is what they want to take away.
Their most powerful weapons are isolation, deception, intimidation.
They desire to know everything about us while they hide everything from us.
It's time to turn that around and expose what they want to hide.
