	Waging war on corruption.
	It's David Knight.

	I'm David Knight, and I am very hopeful today.
	I guess you could say I am more hopeful, and I spell that M-O-O-R-E. Even though we have the headlines on the Drudge Report saying Obamacare forever...
	And it will be Obamacare as long as we have this Republican establishment in power.
	They're not going to do anything any different than the Democrats do.
	So even though we had the headlines, Obamacare forever, you see there the drudge report, then right underneath it we have information about the fact that the Trump administration and the American government have now thumbed their noses at a Catalonian vote for independence.
	We have a Declaration of Independence, and it doesn't just end where it says all men have these inalienable rights of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.
	It talks about the fact that they were declaring independence from a government.
	Now, it didn't have to be a war.
	That was Britain's decision to try to keep them in.
	But they went on to say that whenever a government becomes destructive of these things that they have, these inalienable rights, That it is the right and the duty of the people to alter or abolish that government.
	And that's why they were declaring their independence.
	That's the principle on which this country was founded.
	But of course our country hasn't observed those principles since 1861, has it?
	We have been an empire since then.
	We don't believe in local government.
	We don't believe in self-determination.
	We have created a consolidated empire that looks nothing at all like the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence.
	And now we are thumbing our noses at the desire of people in Catalonia who have a separate language, a separate culture, a vibrant economy.
	They are being robbed by the Spanish government.
	Most of the growth and the vitality of the Spanish economy is with them.
	But the Spanish president or prime minister comes to America and meets with President Trump.
	And now we're going to throw them under the bus, just like the European Union did.
	So we're going to talk a little bit about that.
	We're going to talk to Steve Pachenik later in the program.
	We'll talk to him about Catalonia as well as what he saw in the aftermath of the hurricane in Florida.
	The fact that we had local people in his community came together, helped each other without the government, even at the local level, helping them.
	It was a grassroots organization.
	Actually, what it looked like was Alexis de Tocqueville's America.
	That's what happens when you get government out of the way.
	And so it really can happen.
	But I look at those two things.
	I look at us throwing the Declaration of Independence and the principles of that under the bus, along with Catalonians.
	I look at the fact that we have Obamacare forever.
	Why am I hopeful? It's because Roy Moore...
	Defeated the Republican establishment yesterday.
	And that is a big victory.
	It was put together by the same people who were part of the Trump coalition.
	The same people who supported Donald Trump, supported Roy Moore.
	And even though the GOP Republican Senate establishment spent $30 million to destroy his character, they failed.
	The Alabama voters saw through that.
	He didn't have the money to answer the slander that was put against him by Republicans.
	And he defeated them. And this is a guy, as Mark Meadows, the leader of the House Freedom Coalition, said.
	He said, we have a lot of people who, when they run for office, they talk like they got a back bonus deal.
	But he said, Roy Moore really does have a back bonus deal.
	He has been put to the test on his principles multiple times.
	He's been removed from office because he stood on his principles and the voters have put him back in.
	And they're going to put him in the Senate.
	And it's going to be a good thing for all of us.
	Because when we look at Obamacare, as I said last week, let's not embrace Lindsey Graham care.
	Let's not have the Republicans own this and make it a little bit more palatable.
	Let's understand and see the full impact of this socialism.
	And let's remove the senators.
	Who gave that to us?
	The RINOs, Republicans in name only.
	And it's already begun. We've already had Senator Bob Corker say, I'm going to retire.
	Good. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

	What exactly is political correctness and why is it being pushed on the American public?

	This is how the power elite and the government stay in power.
	They use psychological manipulation to turn the public into obedient sheeple.
	And over time, we lose our ability to distinguish reality from deception.
	But how does political correctness and other deliberate deceptions work?
	Well, first, the establishment saturates mass media with their agenda they're trying to push until it invades every aspect of popular culture and is accepted as truth, such as global warming, for example.
	Then the establishment suppresses any counter-arguments to their agenda by calling critics kooky, nutjobs, racists, or, in the case of man-made climate change, climate deniers.

	We're going to talk about what's going on in Europe.
	Talk about what's going on in Catalonia as well as what he saw at the local level.
	Because we have to understand, as we're pushing back, this is part of the movement that cannot be stopped.
	It may turn violent.
	We don't know. As JFK said, if you make peaceful revolution impossible, you make violent revolution inevitable.
	That's a lesson we should learn.
	And we should learn from the Declaration of Independence what principles this country was founded upon and the principles that it's going to return to.
	And that is the desire of people to control their lives and that government is set up to protect our rights We have a government that just continually tells us what we can and cannot do arbitrarily for the benefit of a few rich and powerful people.
	That government, we have a right and a duty to either alter or abolish that government.
	And so the question that we're looking at in California, not California, California may be part of it as well.
	You know, we've got people in California who say that they're so far to the left that they want to leave America.
	I say, more power to you.
	Peace. Go on your way.
	I'm not going to try to stop you.
	There's people in Texas that say that the country is too liberal for them.
	They would like to move. We're going to be allowed to do that as well.
	And so you see, what we're seeing in Trump and the establishment saying, the Catalonians don't have a right to have a referendum to talk about their independence.
	They're concerned that there is a movement around the globe.
	This pushback against the globalists isn't just going to stop at the national level.
	You understand that. It's going to go down until we actually get government that works for us.
	Whether that's a liberal government in California or a conservative government in Texas, the country is too big to be governed from one particular place.
	I don't want them running my health care.
	And if they think that they have the right to do that, they're going to have to leave.
	Or we're going to leave. And so this is a movement that is not going to be stopped.
	You know, when you go back and you look at the American Civil War, you know, we have the schoolhouse rock version of American history where we think that it was all about slavery and only about slavery.
	No, there were many, many factors going on.
	And you understand it was really a worldwide movement of regional governments that were consolidating into nation states.
	This was happening throughout Germany, Austria, Prussia.
	They were consolidating into what became Germany, Prussia, Austria, all these other countries were consolidating there.
	There was a civil war in Italy at exactly the same time that there was one in America.
	And what were the issues there?
	It was the rising manufacturing interests who wanted a consolidated nation state versus the agrarian interests in Italy who did not want to have a consolidated government.
	Same factors.
	It didn't have any slavery involved, but it was the same motivating factors that happened here in America.
	And now we have a situation where people are saying...
	We don't like to have our government, our economy, all these different things dictated to us from afar.
	So we're pushing back against the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
	We're pushing back We're good to go.
	People look at this and say, we want self-government.
	We want government that is closer to us.
	So that's what's happening in Catalonia.
	We're going to talk a little bit more about that.
	And again, as I mentioned, we're going to talk to Steve Pachenik about it.
	I'm disappointed to see the American, but not surprised.
	Not surprised at all.
	Like I said, our government has not supported the principles of independence and liberty since 1861.
	It has been a conglomerate empire that has become more and more oppressive and more and more involved in foreign wars since 1861.
	But let's talk about some of the other news that's coming up today.
	I want to run down some of this and then we'll go into it in detail.
	I'm not going to play Roger Stone's videos.
	He had a couple of very interesting videos yesterday.
	A very amazing breakthrough here in terms of information that came out in that closed hearing.
	You can understand why they wanted the hearing closed when you hear what Roger Stone has to say.
	So we're going to have more on that.
	There's also embarrassment as the Washington Post has to correct its own scoop about Obama, Facebook, and Russia.
	So, the Washington Post put out an explosive story saying that Obama sought to prod Facebook on the Russian role.
	The problem is, according to a Facebook executive, and you can find this story on Infowars.com, is that when Obama reached out to the social media giant in 2016 to discuss political disinformation spreading on the site, he didn't actually call out Russia.
	Especially making the post's headline misleading and inaccurate, or as President Trump would call it, fake news.
	The post added significant information to the digital version of the story with this disclaimer.
	They said this story has been updated with an additional response from Facebook.
	And the response from Facebook that didn't make the paper's print edition is vital and changed the story enough that the word Russia was removed from the updated headline.
	Again, that's from Fox News.

	The story detailed how then-President Obama gave Facebook CEO Zuckerberg a wake-up call regarding fake news spreading on the social media platform.
	After reporting that Obama had made a personal appeal to Zuckerberg to take the threat of fake news and political disinformation seriously, the paper has added that Obama did not single out Russia specifically.
	So there we have some more fake news from the Washington Post.
	Other big news today, and I think this is big news, and we're going to talk about this a great deal because it tells us a lot about our society, about our future, and I think it's an interesting commentary on The Handmaid's Tale as well.
	Saudi Arabia has finally permitted women to drive.
	Hmm, what's behind that?
	I did a report on that in June of last year because it was an interesting little story, and we'll get into that from the Wall Street Journal about how women there...
	We'd go to an amusement park one day a week to shut the place down, and they would only have women.
	So the women had some freedom there to do essentially what they wanted.
	They had some freedom to take off their veil.
	Some freedom about how they would dress.
	And they were able to drive bumper cars.
	Bumper cars. And they were so excited.
	They weren't bumping each other.
	They just wanted to be able to have that steering wheel in their hand and drive around.
	And now they are breaking out.
	This commercial, those of you watching it.
	Remember that Dairy Queen commercial?
	Where the man is in the bumper car with his kid.
	And then he sees the Dairy Queen sign.
	And he breaks out at Dairy Queen.
	And he goes riding down the road.
	To the bumper car, he and his son.
	And of course, you know that the bumper cars have that little rod sticking up on them because that's grabbing the electricity that makes it work.
	And so this is kind of interesting on a number of levels, because this is kind of the fantasy that the electric car people are selling us as well, that you're going to be able to go anywhere you want.
	No, no, you've got to keep that extension cord on there.
	You're tethered with that short-range mileage, and we've got updates as to what's going on in California.
	An update on Elon Musk's crony capitalism there.
	California is about to ban internal combustion engines in a few years.
	That's going to send repercussions worldwide through the auto industry.
	Meanwhile, as we see that Obamacare is going to survive and the Republicans concede that they can't do anything about it, Senate Republicans are short of votes, they can't even pass Obamacare socialism light.
	And that's a good thing, because we're going to get rid of the Republicans that are doing this so we can get rid of socialism and control of our health care.
	And so you've got Vice President Pence and Mitch McConnell, the establishment that tried to keep somebody who would do something about this, Roy Moore out, saying, am I disappointed?
	Absolutely. And then Mitch McConnell said, we haven't given up on changing the American health care system.
	We're going to be able to do that this week, but it still lies ahead of us.
	We do think it's time to turn our twin priority to reforming the tax code.
	So we'll see what they do about that.
	If they don't do it, it's going to be a blowout against the Republicans at the primary.
	That's where this has to happen.
	Because you're not going to really get any change if you wait until the general election.
	And that's what we're celebrating about yesterday.
	At the primary, we've got a good candidate to run in the general election that is going to be in December.
	And I think Moore is going to win that.
	Meanwhile, we've got half of Americans believe Obamacare exchanges are collapsing.
	Even 38% of Democrats believe that.

	But let's get to the news that Roger Stone broke yesterday about the Democrats actually leaking new information about the Hack BNC server.
	When he's talking to them and they kept the hearing closed, we sent a cameraman along with Roger Stone.
	But they wouldn't let him into the meeting.
	And when you hear what Roger Stone has to say, you will understand why.
	If we had video of this happening, Roger Stone is telling us what happened.
	If we had video of this, this would be leading the news everywhere across the country today.
	This is big news, and they did not want video cameras in there to record their astonishment when he started talking about the fact that, hey, the DNC never turned over this information to the FBI. And the Democrats said, wait a minute, but I won't spoil that for you.
	I'll let Roger Stone relay the information.
	Here's that clip. Hello, this is Roger Stone reporting exclusively for Infowars.com.
	I testified for the House Intelligence Committee this morning on their ongoing investigation into the Russian collusion delusion.
	I made it very clear that I knew of no evidence whatsoever that Donald Trump, the Trump family, Trump associates, or the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian state or any representatives of the Russian state in order to impact the outcome of the 2016 election.
	I specifically denied and pointed to the fact that there was no evidence To the idea that I knew about the hacking of John Podesta's email in advance, that I knew about the content or scope or details of the WikiLeaks disclosures regarding Hillary Clinton in October,
	Or that I had any meaningful dialogue with Goosefur 2.0, pointing out that the content, context, and timing of my limited exchange with someone claiming to be Goosefur 2.0 happened many weeks after WikiLeaks had published the DNC material.
	But there was enormous breaking news today.
	Okay, now listen to this.
	This is the breaking news. That the Democratic National Committee had refused to allow the FBI to inspect its servers,
	instead using a paid-for IT firm called CloudStrike, I was corrected by Congressman Jackie Speier of California, who informed me that she now knew.
	That the DNC had, in fact, turned over their servers to the FBI. This was essentially seconded by Congressman Adam Schiff of California.
	This came to an extraordinary surprise to Trey Gowdy, the Republican from South Carolina.
	Mr. Gowdy pointed out to his Democratic colleagues that FBI Director James Comey and Homeland Security Secretary Johnson had both testified under oath to the House Intelligence Committee that the FBI had not been allowed to examine the DNC servers.
	This is a bombshell revelation.
	Somebody is lying.
	It is either Congressman Schiff and Congressman Spear, or, of course, it is Mr.
	Comey and Secretary Johnson.
	You won't find this or hear it anyplace else other than here at InfoWars.
	And that truly is bombshell information.
	They're saying, I don't know, we turned it over.
	And Trey Gowdy did not know that.
	Can you imagine if they had not closed that hearing?
	Because that's what they want to do.
	They want to make sure that this thing is closed.
	Roger wanted to clear his name and do it in public.
	Because he's been tried in public.
	But of course, that's the way these people operate.
	They assassinate you in public, and then you are allowed to respond behind closed doors if you are allowed to respond at all.
	And so they kept our cameraman out of there, but that information that he put out there truly is bombshell information.
	If it is true, either they are lying and they didn't turn that information over, or they turned it over and they didn't tell Trey Gowdy, who as the Republicans are in the majority, he is running that committee.
	Absolutely amazing bombshell revelation.

	It has something to do with the fact that we have the Drudge Report so well-known, so powerful today.
	It was Michael Isikoff, who was working at the time for Mainstream Media.
	I think it was Newsweek. He had a story, he said, about Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton.
	And he was not allowed to break that news by Newsweek.
	Why wouldn't they do that?
	How many stories does Mainstream Media spike?
	Well, his boss has said, we're not going to let you run that story on Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton.
	So guess who ran it? Matt Drudge ran it.
	And that was the big, big break.
	Because it was Matt Drudge who was on top of Monica Lewinsky.
	Not literally, but on top of that story about Bill Clinton.
	And that's what made the Drudge Report so big.
	Everybody realized that the mainstream media like Newsweek was going to be censoring that.
	And so it's an interesting interchange between Michael Isikoff and Roger Stone.

	I'm David Knight and we were just talking about the bombshell information that came out of the committee hearing that they would not allow to be videotaped But we heard Roger Stone say Democrats pushed back and said, well, no, you know, that DNC server, we actually, it wasn't just CrowdStrike, as he was pointing out.
	You know, we're taking the word of CrowdStrike.
	We're taking the word of Hillary Clinton.
	And who is validating that word?
	Well, it's people like James Clapper.
	Clapper himself should be in jail.
	Not just Hillary Clinton, but Clapper.
	Clapper lied under oath.
	He lied under oath about whether or not the government was doing dragnet surveillance on people.
	He lied about the fact that there were 17 intelligence agencies that all agreed that the Russians had hacked the election, quote unquote.
	He has lied under oath multiple times.
	He continues to act as a political hack.
	And that's exactly what we heard Lieutenant Colonel Schaefer talk about the fact that these guys are hacks.
	They don't know anything at all.
	He's briefed them in his capacity when he was working for the government.
	And they are still political hacks.
	And it should concern you.
	The key thing that you should be concerned about this election.
	It's the politicization of our intelligence agencies and our law enforcement agencies at the top.
	These are the final days of a corrupt government, and things are going to either devolve into a kind of Caligula empire, or we're going to change things.
	I'm somewhat hopeful that we will have a peaceful revolution.
	And the election that we had yesterday in Alabama, where Judge Roy Moore and the Trump coalition of supporters, and we're talking about everybody from Steve Bannon to Sarah Palin to some of the people who had opposed him, congressmen that was there, Mo Brooks in Alabama.
	Basically everybody, even Nigel Farage.
	Nigel Farage says, well, you know, once he says, I was reluctant to get involved in this and to endorse Judge Roy Moore because President Trump had said that he endorsed him.
	But he said when Trump said what he did on that Friday night when he came out and he said, well, you know, it's kind of like this and that, you know, why I said things I said about Luther Strange.
	And he goes, maybe I made a mistake.
	Maybe I made a mistake.
	I'll support whoever wins.
	And so he basically just unendorsed him on Friday.
	And so Nigel Farage took that as a green light to get involved.
	And, of course, as The Washington Post was there reported, there were people that were jeering Luther Strange.
	They just came to see Donald Trump.
	It didn't really matter.
	They liked Donald Trump.
	They didn't care that Donald Trump had endorsed Luther Strange.
	They liked Donald Trump and they liked Roy Moore because Roy Moore is about the Trump agenda and he is not going to be moved from it.
	I don't believe.
	I mean, this is a guy who when he stood on his principles, he was removed twice from office as chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.
	I happen to believe that he was right on those issues.
	But one way or the other, he's not somebody who's going to he's not a sunshine patriot.
	He is going to stand on those principles.
	And we know that he's going to be somebody who's going to be reliably on the side of the Trump agenda.
	So it's great that he got elected.
	But let's go back to Roger Stone before we get any further into the consequences of this election last night.
	And there are big consequences for the establishment, folks.
	This is really shaking up this establishment Senate.
	They spent $30 million to defeat him.
	But I want to go back to the back and forth of Roger Stone, as I pointed out, He had an interview with Michael Isikoff, which I think is a very good interview.
	I want to play some of that for you.
	Michael Isikoff, the guy who was the researcher who found out about Monica Lewinsky, but his mainstream media publishers would not let him publish that.
	And that was the beginning of the Drudge Report.
	That was the beginning of breaking the conspiracy of silence that we had suffered under for so many years with the establishment media.
	So here's that interview with Michael Isikoff and Roger Stone.
	We're communicating with Julian Assange.
	Yes, but I always go on to clarify that that was through an intermediary.
	This is quite simple. July 21st, WikiLeaks tweets that they've got the goods on Hillary.
	I'd like to know if this is true.
	I ask a friend who is a journalist who I know has interviewed Assange, has a relationship with him, and he comes back and says, yes, it's confirmed they have this material and they'll probably release it in October, which is what I said.
	Who's the journalist? I'm not going to say.
	You're going to get asked. Good.
	I will decline to answer.
	On what grounds? On the grounds that I'm not there under a subpoena, and when something is off the record with a reporter, it's off the record.
	It's a two-way street.
	I don't burn reporters with whom I've made an agreement.
	But it was a journalist.
	It was most definitely a journalist.
	How will you prove that? I don't have to prove it.
	First of all, there is no crime here.
	So I'm not obligated to prove anything.
	Pause it. Pause it right there. Pause it right there.
	Yeah, pause it. We'll pick that up.
	Well, Roger Stone just said that that's key.
	See, there's not a crime there.
	What's the crime? You had a whistleblower release information to WikiLeaks, and it's the same thing that the Washington Post did, the same thing the New York Times said.
	The New York Times published the Pentagon Papers.
	The Washington Post said they published the leaks from Deep Throat and others or whatever.
	But this is what the freedom of the press is about.
	There's no crime here.
	And what they're trying to allude to is that somehow, Roger conspired to release true information about Hillary Clinton's manipulation of the Democrat primary against Bernie Sanders.
	That's not a crime, folks.
	That's not a crime.
	It's the truth. And that's the amazing thing.
	But it's not even guilt by association.
	It's really guilt by intuition.
	He understood where this was going.
	He kind of intuited where that was coming from.
	He had talked to somebody, as he pointed out, who was an intermediary who did know more about what was going on in WikiLeaks, but the other guy was not somebody who was involved in doing it either.
	So let's pick up that interview with Isikoff and Roger Stone.
	I had no direct communication with Assange, but if I had, it would be no more improper than having communications with you.
	You're a journalist.
	He's a journalist.
	You're going to say that, oh, he publishes stolen material?
	Pentagon Papers, New York Times versus USA, or any column by Bob Woodward.
	I mean, this is what a free press does.
	You have called Julian Assange my hero.
	He is a hero. Because I think he is non-ideological and non-partisan.
	I think that he has disclosed the deep secrets of our intelligence agencies and the deep state and their incompetence, which is why Hillary Clinton talked about hitting him with a drone.
	Which is why John Kerry goes to the UK and suggests that perhaps you could briefly suspend your diplomatic recognition of Ecuador so we can storm the embassy and arrest this guy.
	Why? Because he knows all your dirty little secrets?
	Say anything you want about Edward Snowden, for example.
	James Clapper went before the Congress under oath and says there is no metadata collection program until Snowden showed that he was a liar.
	In this sense, I think people like Snowden and Assange are heroes.
	You realize that if you go in there and refuse to say who tipped you off about or confirmed what Assange was going to release, you're going to be accused of stonewalling.
	Let's back up. There was never any discussion of content.
	All I wanted was to know, all I wanted was a confirmation that they had a payload of material.
	Now it's time for Podesta in the barrel.
	But you're mixing apples and oranges again.
	I never discussed Podesta with my friend who's talking, the journalist who's talking to Assange.
	They're two separate issues.
	Your friend just told you what?
	That they have a substantial body of information on Hillary that is of bombshell nature which they will release.
	He speculates that it's about the Clinton Foundation.
	That turns out to be incorrect.
	But you will be accused of stonewalling.
	You know, one man's stonewaller is another man's truth teller.
	Let's see how it goes.
	So there you have Michael Isikoff, an establishment quote-unquote investigative journalist, trying to drag Roger Stone over the coals because he won't reveal his journalistic sources.
	And trying to drag him over the coals for something, quite frankly, isn't a crime.
	It's not a crime to tell the truth about Hillary Clinton's crimes.
	Okay? Let's understand what this is really about.
	They have tried to create this Russian red herring so that we would not understand how they are unmasking people, how they are using the apparatus of the national security state in a political manner.
	And they don't want you to look at what was actually revealed about Hillary Clinton.

	Okay, so we have the top of the Drudge Report says, Obamacare forever.
	I'm hoping that's not going to be the case.
	I'm hoping that we're going to turn these rascals, these establishment rhinos, out of Congress.
	We're going to get people in there who actually are going to do what the Republicans there now said that they were going to do, but never had any intention to do it.
	As I pointed out when President Trump was running, I said, he's got a great plan.
	You go down this plan and it creates a marketplace rather than a mandate.
	This is not anything that we've had in my lifetime.
	Not anything that any of us pretty much have had in our lifetime, and that is a free market in healthcare.
	During World War II, the government wanted to enact wage and price controls, and one of the things that they did as kind of a pressure relief valve, because people were not happy with that, they said, well, okay, we'll let employers deduct the cost of healthcare just for their employees, but you can't deduct the cost of healthcare from your taxes.
	And you can't take a credit, that's for sure.
	You don't get much of a deduction.
	You don't get a deduction for your health insurance.
	And even if you have big health care expenses, they discount, depending on your age, I think it's 7% or 10% of your adjusted gross income.
	You can not even deduct that amount.
	So then they wipe out about 10% of your adjusted gross income of those health care expenses.
	And then what's left? If you're in a 25% tax bracket, you get to save actually 25% of what's left after they knock off 7% or 10% or whatever of it.
	Is that reasonable? And we were talking about tax reform that's coming up here.
	They're adjusting the rates and everything.
	We need to have, I think, a combination of tax reform and something to help us with health care costs.
	How about allowing us to pay for our health care and insurance before we send our money to Washington?
	They want to use this over our heads as a club saying, this is so important, we've got to bring in socialism.
	And we've got to dictate from Washington exactly what you're going to do paternalistically.
	Because we know that you're not going to do the right thing.
	Well, let us deduct our health care expenses, even including insurance if we want to buy insurance.
	But let us have that choice.
	But let us not just have a deduction.
	Let us have a tax credit for it.
	That would basically end the income tax, wouldn't it?
	I'm for that. If I was in Washington, that would be the bill that I would be pulling up.
	I would combine tax reform with Obamacare repeal by saying, we're going to have a tax credit.
	We're going to spend the money on our...
	You tell us it's important. Put your money where your mouth is, establishment, and let us deduct our expenses before we send it to you and you dole it back to us like children on an allowance.
	That was the plan we got from Lindsey Graham.
	And this is a family radio show, so I can't say what he can do with that plan.
	But it failed. And I'm glad that it failed.
	Because we don't need to have a GOP care any more than we have Obamacare.
	You know the best thing they ever did for Obama was to start calling it Obamacare.
	Because if they'd called it, referred to it continually as the Affordable Care Act...
	It would be a laughing stock at this point.
	Half of Americans believe that the Obamacare exchanges are collapsing, and they are.
	38% of Democrats believe the marketplaces are collapsing.
	62% of Republicans believe the marketplaces are collapsing.
	It is not the Affordable Care Act.
	They put it in there as the ACA, so you don't see that affordable nonsense there.
	Or they call it Obamacare.
	But it isn't affordable and it isn't going to provide us health care because it is collapsing because it is socialism.
	Socialism always collapses.
	And so Obamacare survives.
	The GOP concedes that this is the last gasp try.
	But then we see the headlines that were coming up a couple of days ago saying this is going to mean more Roy Moores in 2018.
	And I said this as well.
	When I said we need to oppose This Obamacare light from Lindsey Graham so that people don't get something that is a little bit more palatable, something that they can kind of live with.
	Take that socialism down a couple of notches so you can get used to it.
	They take 10 steps forward, then they take 3 steps back, so you get a little bit of relief and you think, well, maybe it's going to get better, and then it stays there.
	And then it gets worse. And that was what was going to happen with the GOP plan.
	I said, no, let it fail.
	Let it be this bitter taste in our mouth, this thing that's stuck in our throat.
	Let us feel the pain so we can get rid of these Republicans who are doing this to us.
	It's the Republicans who are doing it to us.
	The Republicans who lied to us over and over again.
	They said they were going to get rid of it.
	They never had a plan.
	They never published a plan.
	President Trump published a plan, as I started to say, a while ago, and it was a market-based plan.
	It had incentives.
	It had ownership.
	It had information about who the low-cost providers were, who was doing a good job as a health care provider.
	It would allow competition in that marketplace between different insurance companies.
	I don't see that on the table anywhere from anybody, not even from President Trump.
	So they forgot about that market plan that he ran on.
	But that's what we need.
	That's what we've never had in this country.
	We had, as a pressure relief valve, as I said, during World War II, they said, alright, we'll give a deduction to the employers.
	That little bit of socialism, that little bit of government control, took us down a path that started to explode healthcare.
	By having employer-paid third-party insurance, that is what got us to where we are now.
	Just that little bit of thing.
	So we need to get back to a real free market, which is what we used to have in this country.
	We need to get back to the principles of America.
	We need to get more Rory Moores in Congress.
	And I said that, and now this is a headline from Breitbart.
	John Nolte says, Never in history of American politics has a political party so utterly and completely squandered an opportunity and a mandate.
	And this is what the GOP fears.
	Obamacare repeal fail means that there's going to be a lot of people like Roy Moore running in 2018.

	I'm David Knight. We have the tax plan that is coming out from President Trump and leaders...
	Of the Republican Party and the Trump administration.
	And of course it's interesting to see how NPR, the liberal press, looks like some rich people are going to get their taxes reduced.
	And it's like, well, yeah, they're the ones who pay most of the taxes.
	But this is the politics of envy that we always see from the left.
	You should always be happy if your neighbor gets taxed.
	Because somehow you're going to benefit from that.
	No, you don't.
	You're not going to benefit from that.
	They always spend more money than they take in in the first place.
	So, you know, I mean, it's just, but it's the envy and not wanting to see corporate taxes come down.
	Understand that corporations don't pay taxes.
	They pass that on to you and the price of their products.
	If they don't do that, they go out of business.
	It's just the way that the world works.
	I know that these people at NPR have never run a business, but that's the way the business works.
	If you don't know what your costs are, and you don't price your goods accordingly so that you can make a profit, you are going to be out of business.
	So they're not absorbing this as a profit, and what it does is when we put these kind of corporate taxes on, it puts our American corporations at a disadvantage to other countries, and even at the tax rates that we're going to have here.
	If we had something that was truly a reform, we would get rid of any income taxes on goods that are leaving our country.
	Because it puts American corporations and it encourages this multinational corporate elite to flee the country, to put jobs in other countries.
	Because when our goods go out, whether they're taxed at a 35% rate like they are now, or if they're taxed at a 20% rate or 15% rate, whatever, that tax follows the American goods into the European markets, into whatever foreign market it goes into.
	Whereas in Europe, even though they have a higher rate, if they send their products to America, they come over here tax-free.
	They don't have the high European taxes built into the price of the goods that they sell in this country.
	So if we were going to have reform, we would really do something like that.
	But we're not going to do that. But what NPR does fail to mention is the fact that the GOP tax plan nearly doubles the standard deduction.
	That's going to be something that's going to reduce the complexity for individuals, especially people who are middle class and so forth.
	That's going to make it much easier for them in terms of doing their taxes.
	It's also going to lower their taxes substantially.
	As I pointed out, instead of having a standard deduction, we ought to have a tax credit, or at least give us a deduction, okay?
	If you want to just play that game so people feel good about it, and it still lets us take off 25, 30 percent or whatever of the money that we spend on health care.
	But at least let us take a little bit of it off before we send the money to Washington.
	No, they're not going to do that.
	Not going to do that at all.
	We also have information about the Mueller investigation.
	They're saying now that the IRS is getting involved with a special counsel probe, they're going to go back 11 years.
	11 years. Isn't that interesting?
	Does that tell you that this is a witch hunt?
	Of course it is a witch hunt.
	And they say it wasn't clear, according to the report, whether the information provided by the IRS included President Trump's tax returns.
	Let me...
	You can make an educated guess about that.
	They want to get his tax returns.
	They want to go on a fishing expedition...
	This is a bunch of hardcore Democrat establishment people.
	This is a witch hunt along the lines of what Stalin always said.
	Bring me the man, I'll find the crime.
	And he has got an army of investigators to try to find the crime.
	And we start talking about investigating financial issues going back 11 years.
	Remember Dennis Hastert?
	Remember the guy that the GOP establishment picked because he was a pedophile and they made him the Speaker of the House and he was Speaker of the House longer than any other GOP Speaker of the House?
	They never sent him to jail for being a pedophile.
	They sent him to jail for the financial crime, quote-unquote, of withdrawing his own money out of the bank.
	Now, this is not money that he deposited in trying to cover up some kind of illegal income that he had.
	This was money that was already in the system and had already been logged.
	But he pulled it out and they said, you structured your withdrawals.
	And that's what he went to prison for.
	This is the kind of absurd process crime that they're looking for.
	The kind of financial crime that they're looking for.

	You don't think they can find something in there if they're allowed to do it?

	Welcome back to Real News. I'm David Knight on this Wednesday, September 27th, 2017.
	At the bottom of this hour, we're going to be joined by Dr.
	Carol M. Swain. She is somebody who has had her character assassinated by the assassins at the Southern Poverty Law Center.
	She's going to talk to us about how that feels.
	These are the people who label Christian organizations who stand for traditional marriage.
	They're labeled as hate groups.
	If you have a military base or a town with a street name that they don't like because it refers to an historical figure, they will label them.
	They'll put them on the map, that city, that town, that military base.
	They'll be put on the map as a hate site.
	I mean, these people are just out of control.
	This will be an interesting conversation with Dr.
	Carol Swain.
	We're also going to be talking to Dr.
	Pachenik, Dr. Steve Pachenik, in the third hour about some international issues and about some local issues, about things that he witnessed as the hurricane went through, people coming together, getting things done at a local level, without even the local government being involved.
	That's the key thing here.
	But as we were talking in the last segment about the IRS, Now being pulled into the Mueller special counsel probe, going back to get 11 years of files because, you know, you can get the financial crime scenario, as I mentioned with Hastert, is so complex and so out of control that you can basically hang anybody with a financial crime.
	I mean, we ought to modify Stalin's quote to say, bring me the man and I'll find the financial crime, because that'll be a piece of cake.
	Especially if somebody's got as complicated financial dealings as President Trump with all the different corporations that he had.
	A lot of that stuff, folks, is just a matter of interpretation.
	You know when you go to the IRS, you ask them for help.
	They won't give you any help.
	And depending on who you talk to, they will interpret the law however they wish.
	And that's one of the big problems with this tax code.
	And, you know, not even going back to its origins and whether it was ratified or whatever.
	But just take it as it is.
	Whenever you have a law that is sufficiently complex, it's the same as having no law at all.
	I didn't make that up.
	Somebody else said that. I forget who said that.
	But that is exactly what the IRS code is.
	It is sufficiently complex so that it's just up to the attitude of the individual that you talk to at the IRS, whether they're going to make an issue out of this or not.
	And that is especially true when it comes to the Financial Crimes Division.
	So, he ought to be removed.
	And there's an article on McClatchy saying the Mueller investigation into Trump in Russia.
	Congress may not be able to protect Mueller.
	Congress may be unable to provide any job protection legislatively for special counsel Robert Mueller whose wide ranging investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election continues to anger President Trump.
	This has gone far beyond the nonsense of the non-hacking of the Russian government.
	And again, this has all started to cover up the true information about Hillary Clinton that was released by a whistleblower through WikiLeaks.
	And then it was set up to cover up the crimes of the Obama administration, using the power of the surveillance state to surveil their political opponents and then to unmask them illegally, two violations, surveilling them, number one violation, unmasking it, number two violation, lying about number one violation, unmasking it, number two violation, lying about it under oath, number three violation.
	Where is Attorney General Jeff Sessions?
	Where are you, Jeff?
	It's like car 54.
	Where are you? Don't know.
	This guy is like out to lunch, okay?
	Nothing is happening at the Justice Department.
	He's recused himself from all this stuff.
	But the people who are getting involved are establishment figures like Tom Tillis and Lindsey Graham working with Democrats like Chris Coons and Cory Booker, who has presidential aspirations.
	They are trying to do anything they can to keep the special counsel going.
	And again, Tom Tillis is one of the people that needs to be taken out from North Carolina.
	This is a guy, and I've talked about it before.
	The Republicans didn't have a majority, but they had a great minority leader, Skip Stam, in North Carolina for a very long time.
	Honest guy, as honest as anyone that you'll ever meet.
	Humble guy. I knew him personally.
	And... He was the House Minority Leader.
	When they got the majority for the first time, instead of becoming Speaker of the House, what they did was they took this guy who'd only been there for like one, maybe two different sessions.
	Nobody had ever heard of him. Tom Tillis.
	All of a sudden, boom, he's Speaker of the House.
	And I said then, I said, boy, this is a darling of the establishment for sure.
	Immediately, he got a toll road put through North Carolina.
	First time they ever had a toll road.
	Toll road's going to be owned by a foreign corporation, of course, out of Spain, just like they are here in Texas.
	And then, before you knew it, he was running for Senate.
	Fast-track with the GOP, because he's the establishment, crony capitalist, multinationalist man.
	And he was the first one out of the gates sponsoring a bill with a Delaware Democrat to make sure that President Trump could not fire Mueller.
	Then he got Lindsey Graham jumping in there, along with Cory Booker.
	And this is what a Yale Law School professor says.
	He says, the bills in their current form are unwise and they're unconstitutional.
	Eric Posner, also no fan of President Trump, said, I've concluded that they do not violate the principle of separation of powers.
	And on the contrary, they advance important constitutional values.
	And he's at the University of Chicago Law School.
	But then another lawyer comes in and says, this is John Duffy, a law professor at University of Virginia.
	Former law clerk of Antonin Scalia, he argued that parts of both bills were legally questionable, but said they could be tweaked to help pass the judicial reviews, whether or not they would pass the Supreme Court.
	He says, well, who knows?
	Who knows? Who knows what the Supreme Court's going to do?
	So this is an interesting situation that has been allowed to fester, and the longer they wait before they remove and stop this witch hunt, The harder it is going to be to stop and to withdraw from it.
	I want to just briefly talk about the election with Judge Roy Moore.
	I've already mentioned it several times, but here's the key thing to look at, folks.
	As I pointed out, Jerome Corsi has ran a series of articles back in April.
	He talked about how Obamacare was funded with money that was stolen from the private investors of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
	They could not get the Republican House of Representatives to fund it the way it's supposed to be done constitutionally.
	They are supposed to appropriate funds.
	So instead, Obama said, well, you know, we got this pile of money over here in Fannie and Freddie because they took over control after the mortgage collapsed.
	But then Fannie and Freddie became very profitable.
	And so they had some money that they could tap.
	So they did what they called a net asset sweep.
	You and I would call it theft.
	But they come up with a Pentagonese type of terminology.
	They just stole the money from the investors.
	And then they used that to subsidize the Obama...
	And then the Republicans took them to court.
	And they won in court. Because the judge says, well, it clearly says here in the Constitution that the House has to appropriate funds.
	They didn't appropriate the funds, so you cannot steal them from somewhere else.
	From private investors.
	And then the Obama administration appealed that.
	All that had to happen to stop this was for Jeff Sessions.
	Jeff Sessions! Are you listening, Jeff Sessions?
	All he had to do was just stop the appeal, and that would stop Obamacare.
	But no, you can't get him on the phone, you can't text him, whatever.
	I don't know what the guy is doing. Maybe he's playing with a fidget thing in the office or something.
	But he doesn't do anything, as far as I can tell.
	And so you have this situation where they're running through this, and as part of that, Jerome Corsi pointed out in his investigative reports that Bob Corker was one of the guys who was really blocking this as a Republican.
	And now, in the aftermath of the Moore election, he has thrown in the towel.
	We had all these articles.
	A GOP senator gets rich blocking Obamacare appeals.
	And he talks about the long history of investigations of him in political office for insider trading and so forth.
	Just listen to some of the headlines that we've got as the press is covering this election.
	Roy Moore wins Alabama GOP Senate primary.
	A blow to Trump and McConnell.
	This is NPR. Now it's actually not a blow to Trump.
	That's why he went to Alabama and started talking about the NFL. Is to distance himself.
	First of all, he said, well, I don't know, maybe I made a mistake.
	Both of these guys are good. Hey, let me tell you about those NFL guys.
	Aren't they outrageous? I mean, that's what President Trump did.
	That's how this whole NFL thing started.
	It's because of the Friday night rally where he tried to distance himself from it.
	And now he's gone back and he's deleted a series of tweets that weren't really strong endorsements of Luther Strange either.
	He is going to be supporting Roy Moore in the primary.
	Roy Moore supports...
	The Trump agenda, and it's going to be won in December.
	That is very, very clear.
	The establishment, especially the Republican establishment, is trembling in their boots because he is the first of a wave of people who are going to take them out in the GOP primary, and you're going to make it happen.

	Now they're saying, you know what, we're going to refund, even though the season has started, we're going to refund on that NFL Ticket if you're really upset.
	Why would they do that? Well, they're doing that because their neck is on the line, too.
	A lot of people are cutting the cord for cable.
	And they're not going to hang out there for the behalf of the NFL as the NFL is going down the tanks in terms of ratings.
	They're off 11% so far this year, and that's just the beginning, folks.
	They're headed down because they're doubling down.
	You dare not disrespect the NFL if they ally themselves with the BLM and the anti-fac.
	Because that's the way that they're fascist, right?
	So they're not Antifa. They're not Antifa.
	They're Antifa. Sound like Kennedy.
	But, you know, that's...
	They do come from Cuba.
	Castro. They are Marxists, okay?
	They hate this country. And you get your players out there thumbing their nose, disrespecting the country, the flag, the national anthem, the veterans, and all that stands for.
	Those are symbols. People understand what you're doing.
	And so they're out there seeking a messaging guru now to try to figure out how do we spend this?
	How do we tell us how we can market this?
	Because, you know, we're just standing there for unity.
	It's all just unity.
	We're all standing together. You got the one guy who did the right thing.
	Having to apologize for it because the pressure of his teammates in the NFL and so forth.
	I mean, maybe he took a wrong turn.
	I simply don't buy it.
	You know, anybody who's been there, my wife used to twirl for the New York Jets and she said that you don't walk out these tunnels.
	You're walking up into the light.
	You don't make a wrong turn.
	So you're coming out of a tunnel into the light that's there.
	I think they either browbeat him or something.
	Because, you know, the coach of that team, Mike Tomlin, hosted Hillary Clinton fundraisers.
	You don't think that coach supports Black Lives Matter, the Antifa movement, so forth?
	That's what people are seeing. And I tell you what, it is totally going to be over for the NFL if people see the crony capitalism of these individuals.
	It was very interesting because back in 2015, a couple of things happened.
	I played that report for the NFL that I did back in 2014, December 2014, talking about the crony capitalism.
	I said it was crony capitalism on steroids, and it is.
	And at the time, they were getting tax deductions.
	They were treated as a tax-exempt organization.
	They had preferential tax status, even though these billionaires are getting you to pay hundreds of millions of dollars to build their stadiums.
	As I point out, the state of Michigan, a billion dollars in debt.
	They've got a budget crisis.
	What did they do? Well, they bought another half-billion dollars and went another half-billion dollars in debt to build a stadium for the Vikings.
	Because that's how crazy people are about football, or were.
	I think maybe the thrill is gone.
	It should be gone. Shouldn't be doing that kind of stuff.
	So as they were getting that kind of massive tax subsidy, they were getting preferential tax treatment.
	Well, when that came to light, they ended that in 2015.
	Then they were also getting tens of millions of dollars to put on a patriotic display.
	That had started in 2009.
	Prior to that, the players could come out or not come out.
	But the team would run out.
	You remember the pictures of them running out and going through the, you know, sometimes it'd hold up a big sheet with the team's name on it.
	They'd go crashing through that.
	They'd come out after the national anthem.
	And so that was 2009.
	Then the Pentagon decided they'd start paying them to do Patriotic displays.
	And then they put it in their rules of the fact that all the team members would be on the sidelines and talking about how it was very important for the American public to see them respecting the flag.
	Not important anymore.
	The only thing important anymore is that you respect the NFL. They can do whatever they want to to national symbols.
	But they began that tradition in 2009.
	Then in 2015, people said, wait a minute, we're paying them tens of millions of dollars to respect the flag?
	And then that stopped in 2015.
	So the tax-exempt status stopped in 2015.
	The other stuff stopped in 2015.
	These NFL billionaires and millionaires are like cockroaches.
	As soon as you shine the light on them, they scurry off and they do something else.
	How many more scams have not come to light about these people yet?
	And now we've got President Trump doubling down and saying, you know what, you guys got a lot of rules.
	They have a lot of rules, don't they?
	They have a lot of rules saying what can be out there in terms of things that they put on their uniforms.
	If the corporations don't pay up like the Pentagon didn't pay up, well, you know, you're not going to be allowed to put that stuff out there.
	They're going to have to pay to play, you know?
	Like I put out yesterday, the video, Oh, Pay Can You See?
	That's what these guys are about.
	And they would not allow, if you remember...
	After the police officers were shot by followers of Black Lives Matter in Dallas because of something that they felt aggrieved about in another area of the country, they were not allowed to put stickers to commemorate those fallen police officers on the Dallas Cowboy uniforms.
	That was banned by the NFL. They got a lot of rules about a lot of things.
	And, of course, now they're openly taking the side of Black Lives Matter and the Antifa.
	And that's what people know.
	We're not stupid, NFL. We're not stupid.
	Colin Kaepernick has always been a spokesperson for the Black Lives Matter organization.
	They understood that. As a matter of fact, the Smithsonian has got a lot of his jerseys and clothes and everything that they're ready to do an exhibition at the African American Museum in Washington, D.C., And he openly admitted that he was the face of the Black Lives Matter.
	Many people saw him as that.
	And then he did not vote.
	Didn't register to vote. Just like all these violent anti-FA and election protesters, he didn't bother to vote in the election.
	But he's so upset about it.
	And yet he is a Castro supporter.
	It's kind of interesting. There was an article by a guy named Armando Salguero.
	He's Cuban. And he says, the unrepentant hypocrite Colin Kaepernick defends Fidel Castro.
	Let me tell you something. Cuban people that I knew in Florida, they were hardcore freedom people.
	Anybody who has lived under socialism and communism hates that system.
	These are people who had their entire lives stolen by Fidel Castro.
	These were great people to have on your side politically, the Cubans in Florida.
	And he said this. He said, Colin Kaepernick put on a t-shirt that featured a supportive image of one of the 20th century's most enduring oppressors, Fidel Castro.
	And then he makes this absurd statement saying that he's not, he says, if anyone is okay with people being treated unfairly, being harassed, being terrorized, then the problem is more what they're doing in their lives.
	He said that.
	And then he wears a T-shirt supporting Fidel Castro.
	And this Cuban writer out of Miami says this absurd contradiction between what Kaepernick said and does was only a distant annoyance to me before.
	Because although I was warning Cuba's imprisonment, I don't often write about him or his team.
	This wasn't my fight. But then it became his fight.
	And you know what? It's America's fight now.
	Because we're not going to have these BLM anti-fac...
	Dictate to us what our country is going to be.
	And we're not going to be robbed blind by these billionaires to fund their teams.

	Carol M. Swain. We want to talk to Dr.
	Swain because she has been a target of the Southern Poverty Law Center.
	It's very interesting.
	I did a story on them several years ago, talking about the profits of hate, talking about the origin of the Southern Poverty Law Center, talking about the fact that Morris Dees was never involved in the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s except to defend the Ku Klux Klan.
	And he got a lot of money for that.
	People who were beating up people in Birmingham.
	And then he disappeared off the scene, made a lot of money in the direct mail business, and got back in managing direct mail for a presidential Democratic campaign.
	Got the mailing list and then reinvented himself as an enemy of the Ku Klux Klan, having, as I said, only defended them during the 1960s.
	But now they're on this campaign of hate, and it's a very dangerous thing.
	I want you to hear an individual who was targeted by them, a black lady, Dr. Carol Swain.
	She is an award-winning political scientist, a former professor of political science, and professor of law at Vanderbilt University.
	She's a lifetime member of the James Madison Society, an international community of scholars affiliated with the James Madison Program and American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton.
	And she's very established in academia.
	She has had opinion pieces that have been published in CNN, Financial Times, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times, USA Today, and on and on.
	She's made a lot of appearances throughout visual media on television, and it was the op-ed piece that she had on The Wall Street Journal that got my attention, and I really wanted to talk to her about this, because she became the focus of We're good to go.
	But the Southern Poverty Law Center labels them as hate groups, and that can be a very dangerous thing.
	They were the go-to people for the FBI in terms of labeling hate people, and if you're labeled as a hate group, And we have the Southern Poverty Law Center now doing this, even though they're not doing it anymore for the FBI, they're doing it for a lot of social media organizations.
	If you were labeled as a hate group because they don't like you politically, or they disagree with what you're having to say, whether or not it is about hate or not, you just could be defending traditional marriage.
	If they label you as a hate group, that can be used by these private corporations to censor you.
	So we have to understand there's a lot of things here on the line.
	This isn't just a label that we can let roll off our back because we know it's coming from the Southern Law Center and Southern Poverty Law Center doesn't really mean anything.
	So joining us now is Dr.
	Carol Swain. Thank you for joining us, Dr.
	Swain. Hey, it's my pleasure.
	Tell us a little bit about what got their ire.
	Tell us a little bit about what the Southern Poverty Law Center disliked about something that you wrote that made you their target.
	Well, I became that target after I wrote a blog for the Huffington Post that was titled Mission Creep, the misguided focus of the Southern Poverty Law Center.
	And I wrote the blog because I noticed that the Southern Poverty Law Center Was ignoring, you know, real hate, such as the new Black Panther Party.
	They had targeted white voters outside of a Philadelphia polling booth.
	They were patrolling that polling booth with nightsticks.
	The Southern Poverty Law Center did not cover that.
	Meanwhile, they were harassing conservatives like Lou Dobbs.
	And because of their immigration position.
	So I pointed out that they had lost their focus and that the Southern Poverty Law Center, instead of monitoring hate groups, they had become one.
	And about six weeks later, I picked up my Saturday morning paper.
	That was my picture on the front page of the Tennessean.
	That's the major state newspaper.
	And I was on the front page of several newspapers in the state with the...
	In the article, it said that I was an apologist for white supremacy.
	The following year, they had my name in Hatewatch, and this was because of a film that I reviewed for classroom use called A Conversation About Race.
	It talked about race from the perspective of white people that felt that racism was being used to beat up white people.
	I felt that students would benefit from hearing a different perspective and that it would be something that we could debate in class.
	And so I gave the film an enthusiastic endorsement.
	The Southern Poverty Law Center first accused me of endorsing a racist film.
	And later they said the filmmaker was a racist.
	I don't know if he belonged to hate groups or if it was because he had engaged in an online fight with someone and he had referred to President Obama by a derogatory name.
	He called him a monkey.
	And we know that George Bush was called monkey several times during his presidency and even worse.
	But because of the filmmaker...
	And my endorsing the film for classroom use, that's how they attacked me.
	And then, theoretically, they've taken pot shots.
	And, of course, we know that in universities, we're not supposed to have conversations anymore.
	We're supposed to just have, this is what I believe, and you will repeat that to me.
	We're not going to have any debate about this.
	We saw this in Berkeley.
	We had these, as they're pushing back against anybody who is conservative speaking there, they said, we're not going to have these people come.
	This is like the Flat Earth Society coming out and protesting the physics department because they have the only truth and they want to defend their truth.
	They don't want to have a conversation about this issue.
	What effect did that have on you?
	Because I see here in your bio that you were a former professor of political science at Vanderbilt University.
	Was that responsible for your leaving Vanderbilt?
	Well, all I can say is that once you're a professor and you're listed by the Southern Poverty Law Center, As a person who's an apologist for white supremacy, that it does affect, you know, your opportunities to leave an institution, as well as speaking engagements and other things that are related to your profession.
	So it was clearly harmful to me.
	And at the time, you know, I was attacked by a lot of black organizations, by black media, and there was no way I could defend myself.
	I didn't have the platform I have today.
	So what happened was that the Wall Street Journal at that time came to my defense and wrote an article in defense of Carol Swain that caused the criticism to abate for a while.
	And I would say that it has damaged my career.
	And as a consequence of that criticism, whenever the Tennessean, my major newspaper, runs an article, They refer to me as the controversial Carol Swain.
	I have always been an advocate for free speech.
	And that's something that I believe is necessary.
	I've written two books on white nationalism, The New White Nationalism in America, Its Challenge to Integration, Contemporary Voices of White Nationalism.
	And I strongly believe, you know, that we have to have a real conversation.
	It can't be one side doing all the talking and the other side just listening.
	Well, you know, you talk about the fact that, you know, they label you as controversial and everything.
	Of course, whenever they talk about InfoWars or anything, they always say conspiracy theorist site, extreme right-wing site.
	I mean, they always use these labels out there.
	But, of course, they never talk about anybody being extreme left-wing.
	Do you remember anybody ever being labeled extreme left-wing?
	And we look at the Southern Poverty Law Center, and you're talking about the issue that you brought up in the Huffington Post, the article that you put in there.
	Right.
	Right. And you look this up, you will not see anything at all from the Southern Poverty Law Center condemning the violence of the left from anyone.
	They will never condemn it.
	They have become a tool of the political left.
	And there's a lot of Marxism.
	And even though they call themselves the Southern Poverty Law Center, they do nothing to address poverty.
	And the black people that live near them...

	Because they wouldn't do anything about that, she questioned why they wouldn't do that.
	Because they had already listed them as a hate group back in 2000.
	But not in 2008 when they're out there intimidating people at the polls, intimidating white people.

	Attacking us, attacking Alex Jones, that's why they attacked Dr.
	Carol Swain. And, of course, Dr.
	Swain, and let me just tell you this too out of her bio, she was on the Tennessee Advisory Committee to the U.S. Civil Rights Commission.
	She was also with the National Endowment for the Humanities.
	And as somebody who's looking at this and who wants to really get rid of racism, there's racism on both sides.
	But if you question that, if you want to have a conversation about that, you're going to incur the wrath of the Southern Poverty Law Center.

	Swain. Tell us what you were talking about just as we went to break the fact that they're blind now to any violence on the side of the left.
	They become apologists, don't they?
	No, they don't.
	And what I noticed in 2008, it started in 2007, is that they were labeling any conservative groups, especially on immigration, As hate groups and they started going after individuals.
	And so it's one thing to go after an organization that might have resources to fight back.
	When they go after an individual, that person has no resources to fight an organization that has been respected by universities and law enforcement and up until recently the FBI. And so I feel that they're very dangerous and I believe I was the first person to point out that instead of monitoring hate groups, they had become one. And they're pushing a far-left agenda.
	And yes, they love the groups that are leftists.
	They turn a blind eye to them when they engage in violence.
	And then they focus on organizations like the Family Research Council, the James E. Kennedy Ministries, a whole host of mainstream groups.
	They have listed as hate organizations and also individuals who have been critical of radical Islam.
	They do that because if they can discredit these individuals, it's much harder for them to get resources or to get on TV to espouse abuse once you've been smeared and labeled by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
	Yeah, and you know, I think people, even on the left, we've had a lot of times, they've come and gone, they were under a lot of criticism about four or five years ago because of their not spending much money that they collected.
	They were basically keeping it, giving themselves high salaries.
	And now, they kind of came back and they got their rating up a little bit with some of the charity organizations' ratings.
	But now within the last couple of months, we've discovered that they've been putting tens of millions of dollars in offshore accounts.
	So we're back to that story again.
	That was a report that I did four or five years ago talking about the profits of hate, how they basically didn't seem to care.
	When you look at their history, when you look at Morris Dees' history, and the fact that he was defending the Ku Klux Klan that was beating the Birmingham marchers and burning their buses, He didn't defend those people.
	He defended the Ku Klux Klan leaders.
	And he got paid what was then the median family income back in the early 1960s.
	After he collected that money, then he just got out of the law practice and started in the direct mail business because he and his partner could make a lot more money there.
	It seems to me, and it seems even to a lot of critics on the left of the Southern Poverty Law Center, that they're simply about the money.
	What do you think? I would agree that it's about the money.
	And even though they call themselves the Southern Poverty Law Center, one of my Facebook friends say they should call themselves the Southern Wealth Center because they are not doing anything to help poor people.
	They hire very few racial and ethnic minorities.
	And so they don't even practice what they preach when it comes to how they interact with the poor or how they interact with minorities.
	And some of the families that they've sued on behalf of black families that were harmed by racial hate attacks.
	I have heard reports that those families saw little, if not any money, from those lawsuits where the Southern Poverty Law Center earned millions.
	That was part of the criticism by people on the left.
	Not only that they're not spending the money even doing research.
	I mean, they don't have to do the research if they're going to label an entire town, label it as a center of hate because they've got a white supremacist website that was being run out of that town by one individual.
	It's not even that kind of sloppy research they don't spend the money on.
	But the fact that you're pointing out that once they sue somebody and they get the money, like a lot of lawyers, they keep all the money when they do a lawsuit pro bono for people.
	But people think because they say they're the Southern Poverty Law Center, that there's this organization out there fighting to combat poverty.
	They're not fighting to combat poverty.
	They should change their name.
	Yeah, absolutely. So where do we go from this?
	I mean, you know, they're being used as essentially a validation of a left-wing political agenda.
	I mean, is it enough to educate people about this, or do we need to push back in some other way against this radical agenda that they're doing?
	Because this is very dangerous what they're doing.
	It's not just destroying individuals' lives or destroying careers as they try to do with you or to try to censor entire organizations as they try to do with us or with Breitbart or with the Family Research Council or the D. James Kennedy organization.
	It's not simply that.
	They're going to be able to now that they're going to be used by Facebook and others as a source to legitimize the censorship of the left.
	This is a very, very dangerous thing now.
	It's really gotten worse in the last few years rather than better.
	Well, I mean, I think that the fact that they've gone after so many mainstream organizations and individuals, that works to the advantage of people who have been trying to warn the public for years about We're good to go.
	And so maybe this is their day of reckoning that they would either have to clean up their act or maybe they would sort of be put out of business.
	They should not be calling themselves a 501c3 when they're engaged in a clearly political agenda.
	And in many ways, you know, I called them the hate group.
	They act like a terrorist group because they're putting out articles and literature that's inspiring other people to take responsibility.
	violent acts.
	They're very dangerous and they're not taking any responsibility for the people who get inspired by their hate list and go out and commit acts of violence.
	And we saw that with the Family Research Council.
	They labeled them as a hate group and we had this individual who went there to shoot the place up.
	Fortunately, there were some individuals who stopped him before he could harm anybody, but he went based on the declaration of the Southern Poverty Law Center and they did that simply because the Family Research Council supported traditional Christian marriage.
	They labeled them a hate group.
	The guy goes there to kill people and that's really the essence of this where this is going to happen.
	But it's also the intimidation and the censorship That is going to be coming from social media organizations as they use the Southern Poverty Law Center to validate their political bias against people.
	Isn't that it? Yeah, I mean that's part of it.
	And we know that the man that shot Representative Scalise...
	The Southern Poverty Law Center was one of the groups that he liked on his Facebook page.
	And so they're reaching people, and they are inspiring acts of violence.

	I think it's very important as we just finished talking to Dr. Carol Swain, a black professor, female, who was targeted by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
	She was a professor of political science and of law at Vanderbilt.

	I should tell you something about the politics of personal destruction that they wage on people.
	Well, But when we look at how they're funding this resistance and we look at what's going on with the NFL, the public understands that Colin Kaepernick is a Marxist.
	They understand the Black Lives Matter agenda.
	We're not being fooled by these people.
	And how dare the NFL commissioner say, don't you dare disrespect the NFL after they disrespect the symbols of this country.
	After they showed no respect for the police officers who were shot in Dallas And that had nothing to do with their beef.
	Again, if you're going to go out, it's the way you protest, isn't it?
	You've got to beef with somebody, then make sure that if there was police brutality or an unauthorized shooting, unjustified shooting, make sure you stay focused on the individuals, on the institutions that were behind that.
	Instead of using that as carte blanche to go around and kill anybody that fits the general description that kind of looks like these people, they're wearing a police uniform.
	And they're in a completely different area of the country.
	But let's kill them. Because we don't like what the police did over in that other area of the country.
	Or they're white or whatever.
	You know, that is what the Black Lives Matter movement is behind.
	Because they are Marxists.
	They want to simply divide the country based on identity politics.
	This is a plan for taking the country down.
	But how is this stuff funded?
	Yeah, a lot of it is funded by George Soros.
	But there's an interesting article...
	They came out the last couple of days from the New York Post.
	I've been meaning to get to this, and NFL stuff, even though it is related to this, really kind of sucked up all the news cycle, as Lionel was talking about.
	He says, yeah, we got these, remember the guys are jugglers on the Ed Sullivan show, and they got the plate on the pole, and they're spinning it.
	It seems like we can only spin one plate at a time anymore.
	There's a lot of news, and it was really a broad issue, quite frankly, the NFL situation.
	It's touched on crony capitalism.
	It touched on the elitist billionaires who disrespect us as they steal our money for their own private business.
	It reflected on so many different issues.
	But I want you to – I want to talk to you about this article here from the New York Post.
	The guy's name is Paul Sperry, and he talks about how Obama is funding the anti-Trump resistance.
	He says, Wall Street might be shocked to learn that it is helping to bankroll the anti-Trump resistance movement that is aggressively fighting policies that it favors.
	Things like corporate tax cuts or the repeal of Obama-era banking and healthcare regulations, whatever.
	This is being funded and you won't believe how it's being funded.
	Again, just like we saw with the theft out of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Obama said, hey, these guys are profitable again.
	Let's just steal that money because we can't get it lawfully appropriated by Congress.
	I'll just steal that from them.
	And it stands. So this goes back to the mortgage crisis.
	As part of the mortgage crisis, the Justice Department got fines against big companies.
	And what are they doing with those fines?
	They're using it to fund their political organizations.
	Organizations like La Raza.
	Are getting money, fines that were assessed because of the actions of the banks.
	They were fined and then Obama takes that fine money and he gives it to La Raza.
	Just like he took the money out of Fannie and Freddie and he used it to illegally fund Obamacare.
	This is absolutely amazing.
	How do these people get away with this?
	Where is Jeff Sessions?
	Then we've got to do some kind of an intro here.
	Car 54, where are you?
	You know, it's like Castro's doing Idlewild.
	Attorney General Sessions, where are you?
	At least three liberal non-profit organizations that the Justice Department, the Obama Justice Department, and the Sessions Justice Department has not undone this.
	The Obama Justice Department approved these three liberal non-profit organizations, and there's going to be more, probably more, that we find out as we do more research.
	Multi-billion dollar mortgage settlements were instrumental in killing the Obamacare repeal bill.
	They're now lobbying against the GOP tax reforms and other issues.
	They have an estimated $640 million has been diverted into improper, if not unconstitutional slush funds.

	And we're going to talk about that as well, because it's not just looking at what's going on in Saudi Arabia.
	We're going to see a revolution in transportation in America that is going to be nothing short of revolutionary and disruptive.
	So we're talking about this change in Saudi Arabia where they're liberalizing things.
	I want you to see what's coming for us.
	We're going to get it much worse than the women in Saudi Arabia had it.
	But let's talk about Obama.
	There's a massive slush fund.
	$640 million. That was created with the fines that they put on the big banks because of the mortgage crisis.
	And they've been using this through the back door to fund institutions that would support the Obama agenda.
	Now, they have been very instrumental in opposing the repeal of Obamacare.
	And they're going to be very instrumental in opposing any kind of tax refunds that we get or any kind of tax reform that we see.
	But they're also going to be pushing other aspects of the Obama agenda.
	Because one of the first groups here is the National Council of La Raza.
	The racists. The Spanish racists.
	Because that's what La Raza means.
	It means the race.
	It doesn't mean all races.
	It means the race.
	Everything for that race.
	Nothing for your race if you're not Hispanic.
	It is a racist group.
	And they got $1.5 million from Obama's bank settlement funds.
	Now this is a pool of money that is $640 million.
	And yet they are giving millions of dollars to the National Council of La Raza.
	They're giving $1.2 million to the National Urban League.
	And of course they've been very active in terms of opposing Obamacare.
	But that's not the only thing these organizations are going to do.
	So it's the National Urban League, the National Council of La Raza, and the National Community Reinvestment Corporation.
	$2.6 million.
	It is a socialist housing rights group.
	Socialist Housing Rights Group.
	And you're going to see them very active in the fight against any tax reform.
	It's not clear how much money, says the New York Post, it's not clear how much money in all has been diverted from settlement funds to these left-wing organizations.
	Attorney General Jeff Sessions has ordered a full audit of the funds while discontinuing the practice of funneling Justice Department settlements to third-party groups.
	He said any settlement funds should go first to the victims and then to the American people, not to bankroll third-party special interest groups or political friends of whoever is in power.
	So maybe he will do something about this particular issue.
	He could very easily stop the looting of Fannie and Freddie, which would stop the illegal unconstitutional funding of the Obamacare subsidies.
	But he hasn't chosen to do that.
	They say still, the New York Post has learned that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau continues to force financial institutions it prosecutes to donate to third party community organizers.
	Yeah. More penalties in such cases are deposited into the Bureau's now $170 million-plus civil penalty fund, which has, in turn, channeled almost $30 million to, quote-unquote, consumer advocacy groups or community organizers.

	That still, even though we're nearly a year into the Trump administration, Obama is still funding community organizer groups by the tens of millions of dollars from money that was supposed to help people who were defrauded during the mortgage crisis.
	Being defrauded again by the socialist Democrats.
	Let's talk about the Saudi women.
	I want to play for you a little bit my report from June 2016.
	There was an article on the Wall Street Journal talking about how these women in Saudi Arabia could, for a brief period of time, escape the oppression of Sharia law in that country.
	They had one park that they could go to, and for that little bit of time, it was only women.
	And so that removed a lot of the restrictions that they had on a regular basis.
	And so I wanted to play that report that I had a couple of years ago.
	It was also picked up in the New York Times.
	It was called the All Shall Theme Park.
	They had a weekly ladies night.
	They could drive as they pleased and they could speed around the little tiny bumper car area and get a feel of freedom with a steering wheel in their hand and a gas pedal and a brake under their feet.
	Imagine that. You're going to have to imagine that because we're going to be put in this situation.
	We're going to be treated like the women under Sharia law pretty soon.
	And it's not going to be because of religious issues.
	It's not going to be because of Islam.
	It's going to be because of the technology that they're going to impose on us that we are going to embrace because of this religion that we have to have the latest fad, the latest gadget, and we don't care what it means to our freedom.
	We get infatuated with these little fidget spinners that we call iPhones.
	And that's all we care about.
	Here's my report from a couple of years ago.
	This is an article about Saudi Arabian women who love to ride bumper cars.
	Now, they don't do it because they get a kick out of bumping each other.
	They do it because they're so desperate for a little taste of freedom.
	Look at that picture. Two women in a burqa sitting in a bumper car.
	And that's the only time they can get behind the wheel in that oppressive regime.
	Do you think they got a bumper sticker on that bumper car that says, I'm for Hillary, I'm with her?
	I don't think so.
	I don't think so.
	Bumper burkas, I guess you could call the ride.
	I don't know. But you know what?
	Donald Trump had a great line in his speech.
	Look at that picture, that illustration.
	That is priceless. A woman in a burka is a Wall Street Journal, typical kind of a woodcut illustration with a woman in a burka sitting in a bumper car.
	You know, her slogan, I'm with her.
	Donald Trump says, you know what?
	I'm with you.
	I support you. I'm not asking you to get behind me and make me an emperor, okay?
	Like Hillary Clinton is. Now listen to what happens in Saudi Arabia.
	This is important. Here's a woman, they're talking about how she drove in circles, and when the cars came in her direction, she swerved.
	These were electric bumper cars, but in Saudi Arabia, the ride doesn't always live up to its name.
	She says, I come here to drive.
	She's a 27-year-old homemaker.
	She's still giddy from the roughly five-minute, mostly crash-free ride in her red and green two-seater.
	She says it's much better than bumping against others.
	This is at a weekly ladies' night only.
	Where women can discard their headscarves and their head-to-toe black gowns to reveal the latest fashion trends.
	Ripped jeans, tank tops, tossed to the side, 80s style hair.
	Now there's no men at all in the park on this night.
	All the women are, all the entire amusement park is run by women's staff.
	They said the biggest draw of the amusement park isn't the new hours, however, of fashion freedom.
	Instead, they go there to get behind the wheel.
	Even a bumper car wheel in a country that bans female drivers.
	There's no loud bangs, no ferocious head-on crashes.
	There's a few slow speed collisions, but also a lot of women who are dodging as women are content to just glide over the smooth surface with a little tiny steering wheel in their hand.
	Isn't that sad? Are we going to be like that when the driverless cars take over?
	Are we going to be that repressed?
	But this is what's going on here.
	They say they love to drive the cars.
	And when the men come here, they're always bumping.
	But if you bump the ladies, they scream at you and say, hey, I came here to drive.
	Stop that. And then the night is over.
	And they have to walk out and put on their hoods.
	And the men pick them up.
	Because the religious police in Saudi Arabia, the supporters that Hillary Clinton prostitutes herself for...
	We'll arrest them.
	We'll beat them. And of course we don't have any investigation of the Saudis who contributed and bragged about it on Twitter to Hillary Clinton.
	We saw Susan Rice searching, searching for months what she could use to excuse herself, refusing to testify before any committees in Congress until she could find that there was a meeting at one point that she wasn't notified about.
	Not saying that there was anything wrong with the meeting that she knew about, but I knew that there was this prince coming from the United Arab Emirates.
	And so that was a basis on which we investigated these people and unmasked them.
	And yet nobody investigates Hillary Clinton for the contributions from the Saudis.
	But when we come back, I'm going to have more to say about the future of transportation in this country and the lessons that we see in Saudi Arabia.

	And of course, this is an edict from their king.
	And it's interesting because this edict came out simultaneously in Saudi Arabia and in Washington, D.C. It's not going to take effect until June of next year.
	But this was a PR move by them, and of course it underscores the close relationship between the United States and Saudi Arabia.
	They backed the petrodollar, and there's been a lot of criticism of the way they treat women, a lot of criticism of Sharia law.
	The religious police will beat women, arrest them if they drive cars, but they're going to let them start doing that in June of next year.
	This is tied to the rise of a new king who is 32 years old.
	They say, however, in 2015, women were given the right to vote.
	First time since the kingdom was founded in 1932.
	Last year, however, when we're looking at the driving situation, they had Saudi Arabia's top Islamic cleric, the Grand Mufti, defended the banning of women driving by claiming that driving harms a woman's ovaries.
	And that the act will expose women, quote, to evil.
	We're going to see this pushed on us here in America.
	Not that they're going to use that tact.
	They're going to have people who are just so excited because of this new hands-free technology.
	They're going to be talking to you about how human drivers expose people to death and to evil, and so we have to eliminate all human drivers.
	And just as in Saudi Arabia, they're not allowed to go anywhere without a male companion, and it's not clear that even if they're allowed to take the wheel, they'll still be able to go anywhere without a male companion.
	Here in America, once they get in the self-driving regime where they're going to ban human drivers out of the cars, we will not be able to go anywhere without a government companion.
	Right there in the car with you, tracking your every move, taxing your every move, and working with some kind of crony capitalist organization just like we've seen with the NFL, but it'll be far worse.
	It's going to be Ford Motor Company and their mobility division, or it's going to be General Motors.
	Whoever has the most pull in Washington, they're going to be able to run the robo-taxis that will tax and track our every movement.
	Going back to Saudi Arabia on October 26, 2013, they had Saudi women's rights activists who urged Saudi women all over the world, who had driver's licenses in other countries, to get behind the wheel as part of the Women to Drive campaign.
	Several days prior to the protest, over 100 Saudi clerics visited the royal court and they protested what they called, quote, the conspiracy of women driving.
	The conspiracy of women driving.
	See, they understand that being able to get behind a wheel is not only something that they enjoy in an amusement park, but it is an essential part of your freedom.
	To be able to go where you want, to be able to go when you want, And that's a key thing that people in America don't understand.
	You know, we don't appreciate our freedoms many times until we lose them.
	There's an article in USA Today, Six Things Women in Saudi Arabia Still Can't Do.
	I mentioned in 2015 they got the right to vote, but they still can't travel without the permission of a male guardian.
	You're not going to be able to travel in America without the permission of a government minder.
	And it may be algorithmic, but they will not let you travel if you haven't paid your taxes or this or that.
	And they're going to let you travel only in the manner and the speed at which they choose.
	And you will pay dearly for the privilege financially.
	They're not allowed.
	Women in Saudi Arabia are not allowed to dress for beauty.
	They must cover their hair and bodies in public.
	Women are required to limit the amount of time they spend with men to whom they're not related.
	A Saudi woman cannot open a bank account without her husband's permission.
	We can't do that without our government's permission, can we?
	Women cannot eat freely in public.
	They must eat under the face veil.
	Women must limit physical closeness with men and be segregated from the opposite sex in most offices, banks, and universities.
	So where is this headed? You say, well, I want to talk to people about this.
	They're not taking the steering wheel out of my hand.
	Oh, yeah? You don't think so?
	It's going to be done by fiat.
	It'll be done. They will ban you out of it.
	Here's an example. California is now considering following China and banning internal combustion engines.
	And if California does this, they have more than 2 million new cars sold there every year.
	It is going to have repercussions not only throughout America, but throughout the world.
	It is going to mean that you're going to have all these automobile manufacturers, even the big ones like General Motors and Toyota, will then be under pressure to make cars that they can sell in California.
	They want to get rid of the internal combustion system.
	And they say this is about a decade away.
	That's about the time that France and the United Kingdom and China have talked about the fact they're going to ban internal combustion engines.
	Despite revolutionary improvements in Gas engines.
	Okay, we just had the holy grail of internal combustion engines solved by Mazda.
	This is something that a lot of car companies have been working on for decades.
	How can they make it more efficient?
	Well, Mazda found a way that they can essentially use high compression the same way that a diesel engine does it, but use it with gasoline.
	That's going to give them a massive increase in fuel economy, a massive increase in torque and power.
	And it's going to reduce emissions.
	But is that going to be allowed?
	Because with a stroke of a pen, bureaucrats like those in California can shut that down.
	Shut that down. See, they didn't have to ban the horse and buggy.
	They didn't have to ban buggy whips.
	Automobiles were a solution.
	But they're going to do it by fiat, even if they don't have the technology, even if there's no demand.
	And when we look at California...
	There's an article from Zero Hedge, how California enabled Tesla by forcing competition to subsidize their losing business model.
	They said Elon Musk managed to burn through a record $1.2 billion of cash in just the second quarter alone this year, or roughly $13 million every day they're losing money.
	But as Bloomberg points out, the one product that they actually sell and make a profit off of...
	Are the zero-emission vehicle credits.
	And that's the money that flows to them from other manufacturers.
	And that's embedded in the cost of a real car that you pay for.
	And as they ban the internal combustion engine, as I pointed out here, looking at this in analysis...
	They said that it is actually causing an increase in production when you look at the overall use of these batteries.
	They're just moving the combustion where you can't see it.
	That's what we ought to call these electric engines that nobody wants to buy right now.
	External combustion engines.
	Take it out so you don't have to see it.

	People coming together at the local level.
	But I also want to talk to him about the storms that are brewing internationally, about North Korea, about Catalonia, especially Catalonia, because we just had this statement from the White House and Trump administration about their position on that.
	But let's talk first about the hurricane.

	Pachinik. Oh, it's always a pleasure, David.
	Thank you, the C-Z. It's a problem, but overseas when I work there, it's a very helpful thing to have a very complicated Polish name.
	As for the storm, as you know, David, you've lived in this area.
	We were hit pretty badly, and I... Thank the so-called rednecks, who really are not the stereotype of the people that we in the North think of, that they're dumb, they're ineffective.
	On the contrary, they're very bright, they're very effective, they were very helpful.
	It was a real Christian attitude of helping each other, and it was just wonderful because there was a lot of damage.
	There was no question the state of FEMA really couldn't do very much.
	And I'm not blaming FEMA, I'm not blaming the state, but it was a local issue.
	And we all came together.
	If we didn't have power, people would bring in a generator.
	If we didn't have water, they would bring in water.
	As I recommended in my blog, I said Ace Hardware was just there quickly for all of us.
	Stores like Williamson, Blue Water Bay doesn't mean very much to others, but they were right online.
	They came back online.
	And they provided everything.
	I mean, the typical incident that I had is you look for gas.
	Gas is important, as you know, David.
	When you don't have gas, you then have to look for gas.
	And it was rationed out, but it was done very effectively.
	The police were very good, both the state and the local.
	And then when you look for gas, you then look for ice because you need something to keep your water cool or at least something cool so you can eat it.
	And ironically, I ended up in some saloon, which normally I wouldn't go to.
	And there was a gentleman there who As pure a redneck as you could think, no teeth, you know, all tattoos.
	And I didn't say a word.
	He just gave me bags of ice.
	And I noticed he was smoking.
	And I said, here's $20.
	He said, no, sir, I don't sell the ice.
	I'm giving it for free. And I said, young man, I'm not buying the ice.
	I'm buying you cigarettes.
	And so that was the way that we could, you know, communicate.
	And Everybody really helps each other out.
	Of course, there's always exceptions and blah, blah, blah.
	But for the most part, David, you and I know that at the local level, at the level where people really live and work together, we're quite well in the United States.
	The real problem becomes when you start putting in layers of government that really are not functional.
	Even at the county level, when you have individuals who are not as bright as they should be or not as effective, or there's a question of political cronyism, we have a problem.
	At the state level, that's also an issue.
	So when you compound that at the local level, the county level, then the state level, you're multiplying the effect of inefficiency once you get to the federal government.
	Was FEMA helpful? Oh, I'm sure in some places they were helpful.
	Were they helpful to us?
	No. We didn't want FEMA. We didn't want anything to do with the federal government.
	We really insisted on local help, and local help meant within six blocks of each other.
	I live in a town which most people wouldn't even think had the following characteristics.
	It's a town without a sheriff, without police, without a court, without judges, without a mayor.
	In other words, it's the free libertarian town.
	We have gays, lesbians, rednecks, hardnecks, anyone you want, Jews, Christians, fundamentalists, and no one shoots each other.
	We all have concealed weapons, as you know, and we never use it.
	And people say to me, well, how come you don't shoot each other?
	I said, why? We like each other.
	We get along with each other.
	If you have a difference, you just sit down and you talk about it, and everybody gets together for one or another activities.
	So that's the America I'm talking about.
	Would we do that in New York City or Los Angeles?
	No. There, it becomes the notion of togetherness gets exploited to the ideological level, which really has no meaning anymore in our society.
	You know, whether you're left, you're right, it doesn't mean anything now.
	It really means, can you do something?
	Can you help us out?
	Yeah, what you're describing, Dr.
	Prochenik, sounds very much like what Alexis de Tocqueville described when he came to America in the early 1800s.
	And he was saying it's amazing how people just come together.
	They see a need. They voluntarily come together.
	They take care of it. They don't have these rigid government structures like we do that seem to get in the way.
	I mean, that was 200 years ago.
	And it was the same thing because human nature doesn't change.
	That's why it's so important for us to go back and look at the kind of society, the kind of government that we had that once upon a time worked much better than this.
	And I talked about before how my son won a competition because he talked about the different response to a couple of different storm events in North Carolina.
	One of them on the coast, it was a hurricane that came in.
	FEMA got involved. They were very repressive.
	They kept people who wanted to help out.
	They kept people who had evacuated from being able to get back in their homes and try to take care of things after the storm had passed.
	But then another storm that was close to us that was a tornado coming through a town did localized damage.
	The federal government didn't get involved.
	The state government didn't get involved.
	Instead, they had the police out there keeping people away from downed power lines.
	And other than that, you had businesses and individuals donating food.
	They were I mean, for you to reference Tocqueville, that's impressive on many levels.
	That shows you, again...
	It's not patronizing on my part, but de Tocqueville did understand very clearly as a Frenchman that in France they didn't have it at that time, that type of interrelationship.
	He saw it in America because we were by nature entrepreneurs.
	We were skillful at what we did.
	We had no pretense for nobility, and we had no tolerance for patronizing elite.
	And what happened at the local level, it's exactly what your son said.
	Once the federal government came in, we didn't want them.
	We didn't need them. We didn't want them.
	We knew very well they couldn't do it.
	Even at the county level, they couldn't really help out.
	Not one county commissioner came by and saw what happened to our lakes, and they flooded everywhere.
	Yet, I got calls from other county commissioners.
	I got calls from the sheriff, the local sheriff, who said, are you okay?
	So that is exactly what America is about.
	Can we devolve this type of structure?
	Sure, as we have in your shows and the other shows, my attitude is yes.
	That's why I've gone on these shows for a long, long time.
	It's not about the alternative right or alternative left.
	It has nothing to do with politics as much as it has to do with devolution of power.
	I've said from the very beginning, starting in the 1970s, we will devolve power.
	It's the very nature of what happened once we did the binary system or the Internet.
	Once you go to one and zeros, we don't need a Washington.
	We don't need a president.
	Let me be very clear about it.
	But everybody then says, well, what's the Constitution?
	Well, the Constitution was written by a group of men who had very limited interests and had the same interests that we did in order to help each other.
	And to break away from the very elements that are now being imposed upon us through the federal governments, the state governments, and the internet.

	By Sunday, there is going to be a referendum or there may be a civil war in Catalonia.
	So I want to get Dr.
	Pachenik's comments on this with his vast experience on foreign affairs.

	Dr. Bachchanik, as we look at what's coming up with Catalonia and, of course, the referendum date that they have chosen, It is this Sunday.
	The area of Spain that has a different culture, a different language.
	They've had a desire to be independent.
	They have a very vibrant part of the Spanish economy.
	Spain says, no, you're not going to get independence.
	Their Supreme Court said, no, you're not going to get independence.
	Nevertheless, they've moved ahead with it.
	They said, we're going to have a vote anyway.
	Spain arrested 700 of the mayors.
	That's about 75% of the mayors throughout the country.
	They intimidated them.
	Hundreds of thousands of people showed up in the streets.
	Some report over a million people showed up in the streets.
	Then they arrested 14 officials.
	Now they've got the local police being intimidated, but they're still saying that barring an invasion...
	They're still going to go through with a referendum.
	And there may be an invasion because they've got a couple of ships parked there in the harbor.
	They've got a capacity of carrying about 6,000 people.
	So there's this competition, Dr.
	Pachenik, between the local police.
	These are the Masos de Squadra, if I'm pronouncing that correctly.
	They are the local police there.
	They've also got like...
	There's a civil guard, which is kind of a militarized police force.
	These are the guys being brought in.
	And then there's also a national police force.
	But the police are saying, we're putting this difficult position of having to choose.
	And that seems to be where this is going to come down.
	Because they have gone in and confiscated ballots.
	They've attacked the press. They've done all this stuff.
	And now we've had the State Department and President Trump come out and say, we're on the side of the Spanish government.
	And I'm like... What's going on?
	This country was founded on the right of self-government and self-determination.
	What do you think about this?
	Well, I don't think the State Department knows what it's talking about, nor am I impressed with what Trump said.
	The issue of Catalan goes back a long, long time.
	I grew up in the area around Barcelona and Toulouse.
	I grew up in Figuera and Girona, the city's It is a totally separate country.
	Spain is an artificial construct that was put together under a fascist regime.
	Franco-Francisco, General Francisco, Franco-Francisco, who literally killed millions, as did the Catholics, the Republics.
	This war has been going on, but the central government of Madrid is ineffectual.
	Roya is a totally ineffectual primary.
	My minister, for months, if not years, he's had not been able to do anything economically.
	The real issue here goes back to who produces the most money and the most GDP. There's no question Catalan, which is not Spanish.
	Catalan is not a Spanish language.
	It's not a Spanish culture.
	Produces close to 40% of the GDP of Spain.
	That means they have to fund Madrid and Dulicia, a lot of other areas which have no productivity.
	In fact, the prime minister has close to 30 percent unemployment of the youth and the youth there is under 30 years old.
	So the real issue now becomes not only the independence of Catalan.
	Catalan should never have been part of that government or part of Spain.
	And Madrid is useless.
	It's like the Washington and effectualness.
	And the president has no idea what he's talking about.
	The State Department has no idea.
	I've been writing about this for over 10, 15 years in the off-center book saying Catalan has the right and the legitimacy to be independent.
	Yeah. Theresa May has done a very poor job of negotiating, but England decided to break away from the EU. The EU is a construct that's theoretical, did not work.
	It was the French who came up with this nonsensical notion that they could suppress the Germans in the same way the French created under Philip V. Spain, which was a nonsensical concept where basically everybody had a list because the French king had a list, and then eventually all the various areas of Spain integrated together into what was Spain.
	Spain is not a country that has validity.
	The real issue for us is where we have what we call tactical weapons in Spain.
	We have some bases there, but we have to deal with that on a really realistic basis.
	Unfortunately, we don't know the history of Catalan.
	We don't study it.
	We don't study the history of North Korea.
	Again, let me say to your audience, as a side note, we will not have a war with North Korea.
	Contrary to what Trump was saying and provoking, we will not have a war with North Korea.
	I was in North Korea. I worked in South Korea.
	I worked with three generations, Kim Jong-un, Kim Jong-un, and this young man.
	And the answer is we don't have a war with them.
	The problem is we have a presidency and we have a federal government that's basically out of control.
	It has no idea of the historical antecedents of either Catalan or the war in Korea and it should really spend some time watching the Vietnam history of I think if the president were to sit down for a couple hours and watch the show and understand how we ended up to be 16,000 miles away fighting people for whom we had no idea,
	no loyalty, and no reason to be there, then he will understand we don't go to wars in Korea, and McMaster will understand we don't go to wars in Korea.
	In Afghanistan, and we don't go to wars in Europe.
	In short, we don't need wars.
	They're totally ineffectual.
	And I remember the documentary, The Fog of War, where the guy talked to Robert McNamara, and he said when he went back there decades later, the guy from Vietnam slammed his fist on the desk and said, what is this about a domino theory?
	He goes, don't you realize we were fighting the Chinese for thousands of years for our independence?
	We weren't going I'm not going to ally with them.
	That was never an issue. That's the key thing.
	Not understanding what the history is there.
	But, Dr. Pacinic, you know, when we look at this, I'm reminded, I mentioned it earlier in the show, JFK's quote when he says, if you make peaceful revolution impossible, you make violent revolution inevitable.
	And that's what I'm concerned about in Catalonia.
	Why is it that when we see the devolution of power away from the center, And as Trump talks to the UN and says that, why can they not see this here with Catalonia?
	I don't know the history, but I know that if people are going to have a vote for their independence, they're entitled to have that vote.
	They're entitled to have that say regardless.
	David, the real issue underlying it all is money.
	Catalonia supports literally 40% of the GDP of Spain.
	There isn't any other province except for the Basque.
	By the way, part of my family married into the Basque, who could also secede.
	But at this point, the Basques don't want to secede.
	But Catalonia says, look, we support 40% of this whole GDP of Spain.
	You and Madrid do absolutely nothing.
	They're literally ineffectual.
	They're like Washington, D.C., but magnified to the power of three.
	The politicians are totally ineffectual.
	They haven't done anything. So unfortunately, we don't study, either in our military or intelligence or in our history books, the history of Catalonia, the history of Barcelona, the history of Cadiz, the history of Valencia.
	We don't know anything, even about Europe.
	And we don't study Korea.
	We don't study the Korean War.
	I mean, if he were to look at the whole history of Korean and our Korean War, we lost 33,000 men dead and another 25,000 who were wounded in a war that no one wants to speak about.
	2.2 million people were killed in Korean War.
	We were a disaster, and this occurred five years, presumably after we, quote, won World War II, which we didn't win.
	It was the Russians who came in and defeated the Nazis.
	By the time the Russians were at the Elbe River, we then invaded North France and Normandy, and then we took out the Japanese.
	But nowhere in the history of the 20th century Have we won a war?
	Because we don't understand what we're doing.
	We don't want to know the history.
	And we have leaders who have no idea of the dynamics of the history, the psycho-political elements.
	I don't have one person in the intelligence community or even in the White House who understands human behavior.
	Fascinating as always, Dr.
