| How does raising taxes on corporations reduce inflation? | |
| Are you talking about a specific tweet? | |
| He tweeted, you want to bring down inflation, let's make sure the wealthiest corporations pay their fair share. | |
| Look, we have talked about this this past year, about making sure that the wealthiest among us are paying their fair share. | |
| And that is important to do. | |
| And that is something that, you know, the President has been, you know, working on every day when we talk about inflation and lowering costs. | |
| And so it's very important that, you know, as we're seeing costs rise, as we're talking about how to, you know, build an America that's safe, that's equal for everyone and doesn't leave everyone behind, that is an important part of that as well. | |
| But how does... Raising taxes on corporations lower the cost of gas, the cost of a used car, the cost of food for everyday Americans. | |
| So look, I think we encourage those who have done very well, right? | |
| Especially those who care about climate change to support a fair tax code that doesn't charge manufacturers, workers, cops, builders, a higher percentage of their earnings. | |
| That the most fortunate people in our nation and not let that stand in the way of reducing energy costs and fighting this existential problem, if you think about that as an example. | |
| And to support basic collective bargaining rights as well, right? | |
| That's also important. But look, it is, you know, without having a fairer tax code, which is what I'm talking about, then all... | |
| Like manufacturing workers, cops, you know, it's not fair for them to have to pay higher taxes than the folks who are not paying taxes at all. | |
| Now, I know that they're talking about how historic a moment it is to have, I guess, a gay immigrant African-American woman as press secretary, but it seems pretty clear here She can't answer a very basic question. | |
| The question is, how does raising taxes on corporations, how is that going to reduce inflation? | |
| Now, we understand inflation is coming from some of the insane policies that have, say, crushed our energy sector. | |
| The ridiculous amount of spending, of printing money that we read about every day. | |
| We understand that's where a lot of the inflationary policy and the inflation itself is coming from. | |
| She does not address the question, which is how does taxing those corporations more, especially knowing that the Democrats are just going to spend that money on their insane pet projects, how is it going to help reduce inflation that is crushing our middle class, that is crushing you at the pump, that is crushing you in the grocery store, all over the place. | |
| And it's going to get worse, folks. | |
| But how does That taxation reduce inflation. | |
| She reads two pages of unprepared notes or prepared notes that seem to do anything but answer the question, goes on a diatribe of their social justice issues, but doesn't answer anything. |
