Conservatives are being swatted.
What does that mean?
Well, imagine being a conservative and in the middle of the night the police, guns drawn, show up at your door.
Ah, it's a scary situation.
You think this is old news?
Nope, it's happening again in a whole new wave.
Welcome to the Dinesh D'Souza podcast.
I am Chad Prather filling in for Dinesh.
Make sure that you are liking and reviewing the podcast wherever podcasts are offered.
We got a lot to get into today.
Hang with us and we'll get started on the Dinesh D'Souza podcast.
America needs this voice.
The times are crazy and a time of confusion, division, and lies.
We need a brave voice of reason, understanding, and truth.
This is the Dinesh D'Souza podcast.
Hey, everyone, and welcome to the Dinesh D'Souza podcast.
Obviously, I'm not Dinesh.
My name is Chad Prather.
I am the host of The Chad Prather Show, as well as the Dear America podcast.
podcast morning show each day Monday through Thursdays.
I'm not sure that men are designed to talk this much, but here we are.
I am certainly humbled not only to do my shows, but to be asked by Dinesh to fill in for him.
So I humbly thank you for the opportunity to speak into your life and your daily schedule just a little bit today.
We've got a lot of things that are going on in our world.
Trump, of course, has announced his EO in regards to tariffs.
Are they going to work?
We don't know.
There's really no way to know what tariffs are going to do.
The market today has responded with the volatility that we expected.
What is going to be the long-lasting effects?
We'll talk about that in terms of, well, I guess our best estimate or our guesstimate in terms of what tariffs may or may not do to the American consumer and average citizen.
There are many in the GOP who are disagreeing with this, and they've actually sided with the Democrats.
Some are some surprising names like Rand Paul, who has said that this is not constitutional.
I'd love to hear what some of you have to say in regards to that.
Donald Trump seems to be standing by his decision to level the playing field with these trade regulations.
You know, in my opinion, if we were starting all from zero and no one was levying tariffs against us, I would think that maybe there would be an argument against raising any trade regulations.
But the fact of the matter is, We are being tariffed by many countries, if not almost all countries, and it is time that we ask for a fair trade.
I think that the American consumer, the American citizen, and the American taxpayer deserve that opportunity.
We'll talk about that a little bit later on today with my special guest, and as I mentioned in the intro, Something very interesting is happening.
Conservatives are being attacked.
Yes, we know about the craziness of domestic terrorism, of people who have firebombed and shot bullets into Tesla dealerships, to carving swastikas into the side of a cybertruck with a key.
And it's amazing to me that these people are now, even though people are being arrested and prosecuted and indicted for their vandalism against a person's private property in the name of political activism, that they're continuing to do it.
Hey, here's a little hint to those of you who might not be paying attention.
Those Teslas, they have what's called a sentry mode.
There's cameras all over those things.
You will get caught.
But besides that, we're seeing a phenomenon known as swatting.
You're probably wondering what that is.
We're not talking about a form of disciplining your child or grandchild.
Swatting is where someone calls in an emergency threat happening at someone's home and the police show up, guns drawn with a full force emergency.
It is a potential for death and mayhem to ensue if the wrong thing happens in that scenario.
It's been happening more and more lately and a lot of folks thought that this had kind of died out but it looks like there's a new wave of that that's happening and the guilt is just being outspoken as a conservative.
Now there are a few things that have appeared to be similar in these cases.
Many people have spoken out against USAID or they've spoken out against Ukraine and so we see some similarities and commonalities in the people who are getting swatted.
My guest that I'm going to speak to today, Larry Alex Taunton, who is no stranger to the Dinesh D'Souza audience.
He has been a victim of this scenario, and I want to get his take not only on that, but we're going to talk about the The dismantling of so many government agencies, specifically USAID.
Larry has been all over the world.
He's exposed a lot of the fraud, abuse, and waste himself, even the human trafficking that has been funded on the part of the American taxpayer dollar.
It's a sad day that we're living in when we think that that's actually happening right under our noses, and that there are political activists on the left, agenda-driven progressives, who are fighting We're fighting back against the exposure of these types of things.
We know that the insanity ensuing all around the election after November is only going to get worse, but at what detriment is it going to cause our country?
We're in a situation where the status quo is simply not working.
We voted in November for Donald Trump to come in and Establish an administration and cabinet members that were Anti-swamp, anti-big government, anti-bureaucracy, and someone who was going to be innovative and try new ideas.
America, at the end of the day, is not just a government, it is a business.
And in Donald Trump, we hope to find a businessman with common sense who knows how to turn the tide.
We need, after the last four years especially, someone who can come in with common sense and actually take the reins.
We know that Joe Biden and certainly Kamala Harris, they were not When we see various cabinet members such as Pete Buttigieg, who along with his husband, Chasen, were taking three-month paternity leaves after their adoption or surrogacy of a newborn.
And then our own Lloyd Austin disappears for four or five days and he's dealing with surgery from prostate cancer and no one even knows that he's gone when his second in command We're good to
go. They don't want you to have your gun rights.
They don't want you to have any freedom of speech.
They don't want you to own property.
And it's a direct violation of what our country was established on.
Principles of freedom, life, liberty, and property, all three of those things are at stake in these moments, and they've used bureaucracy, overspending, fraud, waste, and secrecy.
Whether you call it a deep state or a shadow government or just the puppet masters, they have been in control of our life.
We have to turn the tide.
Now, it's a big ship.
You don't just turn the Titanic in a u-turn on a on a tight spiral or radius.
It takes a moment for these things to happen.
Our friend Dan Bongino, the Deputy Director of the FBI, just said in a post yesterday on X, just because it seems like some things aren't happening doesn't mean they're not happening.
Things are happening.
I have to hold faith in that or else we're all we're all going to go a little bit crazy.
So, When you look at the tariffs, when you look at the exposure of the fraud and the waste, you look at the outrage, a 25-hour speech given by crazy Spartacus Cory Booker, what is going on in our country?
We are deeply divided in terms of our values, but when we live in a day and age, as I stated yesterday, that feelings and opinions far outweigh the truth and the facts, How do we ever get back to some semblance of normalcy and a foundation that actually stands?
I remind you that Jesus in Matthew chapter 7 said that the wise man builds his house on a foundation of stone, not on the shifting sand, so when the winds and the waves blow, it comes down and great is its fall.
We've seen that the left has consistently built their foundations on a fault line, something very weak.
And then they've erected a house of cards that has no logic or no philosophical balance to it.
And so when they start to see the destruction and the chaos that comes from their ideology falling and crashing and crumbling, they are choosing violence.
And if not violence, then what?
Violent rhetoric.
And one thing, my friend, always leads to another.
We have a lot to get into today.
Lots of topics.
Lots of headlines.
Lots of ideas.
And I'm going to remind you that those ideas, they have consequences.
And my friend Larry Taunton He's going to remind us all of that.
My name is Chad Prather, the host of The Chad Prather Show and the Dear America Podcast, filling in for my friend Dinesh D'Souza, who is away on some very important business, and I'm excited to have the opportunity to spend with you, his very special audience.

Hey guys, welcome back to the Dinesh D'Souza podcast.
My name is Chad Prather.
It is good to be with each of you.
Thank you for tuning in.
Thank you for listening.
Make sure that you're sharing this podcast with all your family and friends.
It is good to elevate these voices.
There's a lot of people out there that think they don't have a platform.
Trust me, if you've got anyone following you on social media, you have a platform.
Make sure that they are hearing from you a whole lot more than the cat pictures and the recipes.
Let's educate and enlighten their mind.
One of my favorite people in the world, someone I consider not only a best friend, but in many ways a mentor.
He is the host of a podcast called Ideas Have Consequences.
He is a world traveler.
He is a professional arguer.
How about that?
He's also an author.
He's written a fantastic book, among others, called Around the World in More Than 80 Days, as well as The Faith of Christopher Hitchens.
He is my friend Larry Alex Taunton.
Larry, how are you?
That's great.
It's always good to be with you, Dinesh.
It is my privilege to be with you.
You know, your skin tone is just a little different than the twang, and I like adding the cowboy hat, Dinesh.
Here's the thing, from India to Houston, sometimes it will kind of rub off on you a little bit.
We've been doing these things called the skin lightening techniques over here, and it works very, very well.
You know, Larry, I said to the audience yesterday, I'm the anti-Dinesh in that I'm a little hyperactive.
I'm extremely extroverted.
I tell jokes for a living.
I can get a little silly and off the rails.
I am not very calculated with things.
I have the gift of gab, but I also have a mouth that is the shape of my foot, and I put it in there well.
So when Debbie and Dinesh honored me with the opportunity to come and sit in this chair and use their microphone and give me their audience, I was both humbled and perplexed here.
We believe the same way, but we definitely deliver it in different ways.
And you and Dinesh go way back.
Y'all have a great relationship and friendship as well.
I've known Dinesh for a very long time.
And let me say this for the audience, you know, just some little behind the scenes stuff where Chad is concerned.
This, by the way, would apply to Dinesh.
This is actually also true.
of Dinesh, but you know, sometimes in this world, and you know this far better than I do, because your Rolodex has far more celebrities in it than does mine.
Sometimes guys, when you're, you know, you're with them, you know, privately, even on the conservative and the Christian side, disappointingly, they have to be in front of an audience.
They just have to be with lots of people who are You know, telling them how wonderful they are, you know, all the time.
This is absolutely just not true of Chad Prather.
Chad Prather is very contented to sit on my porch and smoke a cigar and strum his guitar for us or just have a very good time.
I find Chad to be just somebody who, when he visits, I really enjoy it and it's just because he's just a regular guy and I say that in the way that's meant to be very much a compliment.
Well, I appreciate that.
You are not only a fantastic friend, I always value your input and I've enjoyed over the years getting to know you as well and you do have a lovely home.
Your wife Lori is probably She's up for sainthood between both putting up with you and the just fantastic home that she keeps.
I've told you many times, there's something spiritual about visiting.
When we get together, when I come to your home, you've got a beautiful house on the lake, and there's something very peaceful, very tranquil about your home.
And I rest when I visit with you.
And that's something that is very big, because I don't always rest.
My brain tends to not turn off, but I can do that when I'm there with you.
And there's an impartation that happens.
And I encourage people, if you're listening, to find that type of environment around that type of people.
And I think it's the people that create the environment.
And that's very much due to Lori.
Yeah, well, you know, I love Lori.
She's got such a quiet demeanor, but I want to I wouldn't cross her with ten men.
I can tell.
This lady has, she's got her own battle scars, but she's a beautiful human inside and out.
Your house, and we'll talk about this later on, your house was not such a tranquil scene a week and a half ago.
We'll get into that later on, but I want to talk about you for a second.
You sort of, people ask me occasionally, who is Larry Taunton?
I'm heterosexual.
You're a white?
Arguably heterosexual.
You are a Christian, conservative, male, cisgender.
Is that the term the kids are using these days?
Which means you basically own some guns, you believe in private property and free speech, and you're very outspoken, which means you're basically public enemy number one.
You are the antithesis.
You are toxic masculinity.
You are not what the world looks at and says this is the ideation of what we think the male gender ought to be these days.
You're an alpha male.
There's nothing beta about you.
I say that from great experience.
You get this many A-type personalities on your back porch and it's an interesting deal, right?
You talk about me needing an audience.
Listen, my schizophrenia, I've got enough personalities inside my brain that I'm entertaining that I don't need anybody else.
We're having some deep conversations.
But when I introduce you, I think of the guy who you sort of cut your teeth as a scholar.
And you could dig into that.
You know, you're an educated man.
The late Val Kilmer, as Doc Holliday said in the Tombstone movie, said, Darling, we have an educated man.
I know I hate him.
But debating from the theistic standpoint against Dawkins and Hitchens and these men that you travel the world with, to debate the existence of God, And the theistic worldview, and it shaped everything that you've done.
Tell me a little bit about where you come from, and talk about Fixpoint, and talk about how that plays into where we are today with Ideas Have Consequences.
Yeah, I really appreciate it, Chad, and of course consider you to be a very dear friend.
And I pay you what I really believe is the highest of compliments.
I often tell people, you know, when you go through a really rough patch in your life, you find out who your friends are.
And I always say, Chad Prather's the kind of guy, if tomorrow I were out of house and home, he'd give me a room.
He would lend me money.
He would help me.
And that's really what a friend is.
You know, I started my career, I was very interested in the writings of Francis Schaeffer, who's probably Familiar to you who was, you know, he's a long deceased theologian, died in 1984 of cancer, but He did something that I thought was very unique.
He's what we might call an apologist.
And for those people, Christian apologists, for those people who don't know what that means, it doesn't mean he went around apologizing for the Crusades or the Salem witch trials.
It just simply meant that he was a defender of the faith.
And he did a really excellent job of combining scholarship with a public defense of the Christian faith, and I thought this is something I very much want to do.
I went and got academic degrees in history, European history, Russian, and was teaching in, you know, spent some time at Bama when I was a GTA, and then did some teaching for several years in a preparatory school that's like a Phillips Exeter, a Harrow& Eaton, a very, very expensive, you know, institution.
And something very unique happened on the heels of 9-11.
I had taken a group, which was, you know, incredibly unique.
I'd taken a group to volunteer at Ground Zero, and it captured a group of students, and it captured national media attention on a very, you know, low level, but nonetheless media attention.
The next thing you know, I was being invited to do radio shows, keynote, United Way, television shows, and I just started taking off.
And my pastor said to me, he said, you know, you're getting invitations to places I would never get.
And he says, and you're able to engage with these people on a level that they respect, and you're able to smuggle in the gospel.
And maybe you should think about doing this for a living.
And I had no idea, Chad, what he was even talking about.
You know, I'm teaching Russian literature, Russian history, Western civilization, history of Britain, this kind of thing.
And I'm like, what are you talking about?
He says, well, what I mean is quitting your current job and just doing this.
And he said, you know, maybe you should think about starting a 501c3.
I never even heard the term before in my life, and I was like, starting a what?
He said, a non-profit.
He said, look, we can put together a list of some people just right here in this church who alone will be able to support you in doing this.
And he says, and I promise you, they will.
And after much prayer and consideration, Lori and I decided to make the leap.
And that was, gosh, how many years ago now?
20 plus years ago, and I remember telling my board Chad, which is very funny They sat down to set my salary, which was very generous and I said guys I I don't know that that you can justify paying me that because I don't really have much to do and they said well We don't think that's gonna last for very long and it just exploded and one of the first things that we decided to do that I decided to do was Shortly after starting
Fixpoint Foundation, you had the New Atheist with a spate of anti-gods, really specifically anti-Christian books.
Dawkins' The God Delusion, Dan Dennett's Breaking the Spell, Sam Harris' Letter to a Christian Nation, Christopher Hitchens' book, God is not great.
And I thought, you know what?
I'm going to go straight after those guys and challenge them to debate.
And the next thing you know, millions of people are looking at our website.
And I thought, you know what?
I want to take a muscular Christianity with teeth into the marketplace of ideas and contend for the gospel and push back against a lot of the godless ideas.
that we're seeing.
And my academic background really qualified me, Chad, to really position myself, not as a Christian apologist, because that has no meaning outside of Christian surveys.
I mean, people just don't know what that means.
But as a cultural commentator, as a freelance writer, as an author, And that's what I've been doing ever since.
Yeah, that's amazing.
We're going to take a break here in just a second.
I got familiar with you years ago.
My pastor, Wade Trimmer, in Augusta, Georgia, sent me an article by a guy named Larry Taunton, Larry Alex Taunton.
And I was like, that's a pretentious name.
And he said, you've got to read this guy.
You've got to read this guy.
And I wound up buying your books.
I reached out to you.
You said, I'm going to send you your books.
I'd already bought them.
Yeah, well, you sent me a picture of a rifle right in between the pages of the book where you were deer hunting about my name.
I'll tell you why I used my middle name.
My uncle in the state of Alabama was a college president.
His name is Larry Taunton, for whom I was named.
And there was a Democrat congressman in Arkansas who was friends with Bill Clinton named Larry Taunton.
Oh yeah, you got to change that.
I got to use my metal leg.
You did it.
You did it.
Larry Taunton.
We're going to talk about USAID.
We're going to talk about corruption.
We're going to talk about human trafficking.
We're going to talk about some travels that you've done.
And we're going to talk about getting swatted.
Hang tight, folks.
We'll be right back.

It's D-I-N-E-S-H, Dinesh.
All right, we're sitting down via technology, thank God for it, with Larry Taunton.
Larry, You travel all over the world.
You keep going to the World Economic Forum.
I think you were just on Dinesh's show recently talking about being at the WEF.
Fascinating. Was that your third time at the WEF?
It's the third year in a row.
That's correct, Chad.
And you just are a glutton for punishment.
You go over there, you put a UNICEF patch on there or a UN deal, and you just take off in there, wear a Coexist t-shirt or something like that, and you go hang out with the world's elite.
It's Switzerland, and then you bounce around, you go to other parts of the world, you go down to Cairo, you almost got Khashoggi'd down there, we'll talk about that in a moment, with USAID.
You were on my show, The Chad Prather Show, last year, and you were really way ahead of the game, Larry, before USAID became a household name under the exposure with Elon Musk of the fraud that's taken place on the part of the American government.
And the money that's just being wasted with USAID, you actually went down, spent time in Central and South America, particularly around the Darien Gap.
You risked your life, not the first time you've done that.
You've done that numerous times.
But you're exposing USAID and some of the things you went so far as to accuse them of human trafficking.
Is that a fair statement?
That is 100% accurate.
Tell me about that.
Yeah, well, as you know, Chad, I've been going south of the border for, in fact, I have to say this because it's one of the wittier remarks I've heard in recent years.
I was doing your show and I said, you know, it seems like every homosexual is, I was doing it from south of the border.
You know what I'm going to say?
I was in Columbia and I was doing your show and I said, you know, Chad, it seems like every American homosexual is down here.
And you said, and why are you down there?
I mean, birds of a feather, Larry.
But I want to come back to the fact that how we began, I am a beta alpha heterosexual.
You're an alpha.
A hetero alpha.
But you do run into a lot of homosexuals, American homosexuals.
Why is that?
You know, I think it's because the age of consent in places like Columbia is much cheaper.
And, excuse me, much cheaper.
Lower. Cheaper too, but much lower.
And Asian consent is 14. You also see, you know, some creepy males, you know, who are walking around with, I mean, with children.
What I would say are children, you know, at hotels and this kind of thing.
But you also see, you know, older homosexual men with Colombian boys.
And these are American men?
American men.
Some Europeans.
You do see some Europeans as well.
And it's very, very creepy, but because it's legal in Colombia, a lot of people come there, you know, looking for that sort of thing.
But anyway, I decided about, I guess towards the end of Trump's first term, when the whole border crisis topic was really heating up, That nobody seemed to be asking the question, what is going on on the southern side of the border?
I mean, everything was about the border, but it seemed to me that an obvious question is, well, why are millions of people stampeding our border?
So I decided to go on the southern side of it to see what's happening.
And of course, CNN was reporting, well, it's due to climate change, which is complete nonsense.
What, of course, is happening is that you are seeing a number of governments, you know, falling in very nefarious election scenarios.
Honduras, Peru, Chile, the most stable democracy in South America, Brazil and Colombia, in addition to the fact that Venezuela was already there, all fell to Marxists.
And they were, you know, hell-holing all these economies.
And so people were doing what any of us would do.
They were trying to flee To countries where they could feed their families.
And what I kept noticing, Chad, when I would go into, say, cartel towns in Western Columbia, and, you know, even at the jumping off point to the Darien Gap, the most dangerous jungle in the world, Signage for USAID.
I mean, these people are so arrogant.
They put up signage for USAID all over the place.
And so, if we have a flow chart, American taxpayer to USAID, from USAID to a series of 25 NGOs, and from those NGOs, it goes out to basically fund This massive human trafficking train that goes from you know point a let's say Venezuela I'd say a plurality of those from South America going to the US or Venezuelans All the way to and
through our border and you'd also see them wearing the swag, you know They might have a little bag or a t-shirt or something like that would say You know with the one of these NGOs Logos on it the most common of which I saw was IOM, which is a UN NGO, International Organization for Migration, sometimes OIM, Organization for International Migration.
So I was seeing this and I kept screaming, Chad, for years, somebody needs to really drill down into this.
And the funny thing is, earlier this year, or rather late last year, I was coming down just as the presidential election was taking place to see How that was impacting immigration.
And Lori said to me before I left, she said, you know, do you really think it's worth it?
I mean, she wasn't telling me I shouldn't, but she's saying, you know, we've poured a lot of time, a lot of energy, a lot of money into researching this and ferreting out, you know, the corruption here, but it doesn't seem like it's really getting traction.
Your audience doesn't seem particularly interested in that topic.
And I said, you know, it's a fair point, but I feel really, really passionate about this.
And the next thing you know, I'm doing Steve Bannon's show, that's in January of this year, where I'm explaining USAID's connection to illegal immigration, and Donald Trump was watching the interview.
The President of the United States, of all the things that he had to do, he was watching, and he texted Bannon during that interview that was with me, and I think his name's Ben Birkbaum.
Yep, Ben's a great friend.
Good guy.
And the president said, essentially, I'm paraphrasing him, but tell them this is really excellent information and we'll destroy USAID.
So it suddenly felt like, you know, we were making progress.
I would say that's progress.
I would say that's some progress.
You, we've got about five minutes here in this segment.
I want to talk about your most recent trip.
You go to the World Economic Forum.
Then you went over to Egypt.
You go to Cairo.
There's a long story as to why you go to Cairo, various things you've uncovered there.
There's been times where you've gone to the USAID office there to just kind of see what's going on, right?
There in Cairo.
You go this time, you've got a hired driver, you go to the USAID office in Cairo.
This is just, what, two months ago?
That's right.
What happened?
Yeah, about six weeks ago.
I was in Cairo, actually, to meet with persecuted Christians, and that's why I was there.
But since I was there, I thought, you know what?
I've already been seeing what USAID is doing in South America.
I just as well take a look at them here in Cairo, where they have a huge office.
I mean, it's a fortress.
And I thought, you know what?
I'm just going to pop over there and see if I can get an impromptu interview.
And see if they are complying with the President's order to begin closing up shop, you know, because Trump had by then issued an executive order calling for exactly that.
So, you know, there are some things that in my work, Chad, that you do that you know are dangerous.
So, for instance, Darien or a cartel town or some of these migrant camps, you know that they are dangerous.
Going over to USAID Cairo as a U.S. citizen, I did not anticipate being anything like that.
I thought that I'm going to go over there and they're going to stonewall me.
They're going to say, sorry, you know, you didn't have an appointment and lie to me and say, yeah, we're in the process of shutting down.
Sorry. And then I go away and there's, you know, there's no story.
Instead, what happened to truncate, you know, the, the story, people can find this on ideas have consequences.
You know, my podcast on YouTube where I tell the full story.
But what ended up happening is they summoned the Egyptian secret police, tried to get me to enter into the compound, did everything they could to try to get my power.
Then, you know, physically, you know, trying to drag me out of the car that I was in.
It was clearly an effort to off me.
They were very worried about what I might have seen inside that office or what I might know.
And so they wanted my passport.
They wanted my phone.
I said, "You can't have either.
Not giving them to you.
Could you enter into the compound?" I was like, "Hell no.
And you're reminding them you're a U.S. citizen.
And I'm telling them I'm a U.S. citizen, and the only protection that I really had in this situation was if I'd have had a Nigerian passport, a Somali passport, or an Egyptian passport, they'd have just dragged me out of that car.
This went on, by the way, for about three hours.
But I had the thin protection of a U.S. passport post-January 20. So Trump is president, and I think, you know, under the previous administration, they'd have dragged me out anyway, and we wouldn't be having this conversation.
They weren't quite sure what to do with me, but they were taking orders from someone inside USAID who had called Egyptian State Security.
And they surround my car for about three hours, keep trying to get me out of the car.
I keep telling them politely, I'm not getting out of the car.
Funny thing that happens, I called the U.S. Embassy and I said, you know, I've been detained outside of USAID by NSA, Egyptian State Security.
And a guy said, have they arrested you?
And I said, no.
He said, drive off.
And I said, well, they have indicated they will open fire on the car.
I thought, you know, what an American answer to a very un-American situation.
I mean, in the U.S., you have to charge me or you have to let me go.
And so I sat there for the longest time and eventually they did let me go.
I think with the intention of trying to get me later, the next morning they showed up at my hotel, told staff that I was a very dangerous man.
They said I was guilty of espionage, began searching everything, but I was already out of the country.
Wow. And that's USAID, by the way.
USAID. So USAID is incredibly corrupt, but we tend to think of it as this It's this Leviathan with Samantha Power at the top.
It is a Leviathan, but it's not monolithic.
I came away feeling like the Cairo office is run by Hamas and they don't know anything about and don't care about what USAID is doing in South America.
Yeah, run by...
sort of like the right arm doesn't know what the left arm's doing.
Neither one cares.
They've got their own autonomy.
Yep. Frightening Stuff.
And you called me.
You called me.
You'd gotten to Prague and you were like, I think these agencies are after me.
You came to the conclusion that Hamas was running the Cairo office.
Frightening deal.
You know what, Larry?
There's this whole thing that says curiosity kill the cat.
So you keep getting yourself in danger and we got more danger to come.
Let's take a quick break.
We'll be right back with Larry Tomlin.
All right, there's no end to the paranoia, especially when you've got a guy like Larry Taunt around, but it's not paranoia if they really are trying to kill you.
And so we've had this recent phenomenon.
It's not a new thing.
There are various people who have been what's called swatting happen to them.
It happens particularly to conservative influencers, a phrase that I don't particularly like, but people with a large following and who are outspoken for conservative values.
You basically have someone that makes a 911 call that says something violent is happening at a residence and law enforcement and medical and firefighter forces show up in order to avert this crisis.
And the expectation, I believe, is that the person's going to come out thinking that they're under a home invasion and either brandish a weapon or, God forbid, shoot back.
It will be murder by cop inadvertently, but nonetheless, you're still dead.
This is the phenomenon known as swatting.
There was a recent rash of these things that happened just a couple of weeks ago, and then they sort of mysteriously died down.
Now it seems like they're coming back.
Last night I got a text message.
I was minding my own business and my dangerous friend, Larry Taunton, sent me a text message.
He said, you won't believe this.
I'm being swatted dead.
Again, it just happened to you the week before last.
First of all, let's go back.
Let's go back and let's talk about what happened to you two weeks ago.
Yeah. Interesting thing is, Chad, I really hadn't followed the whole SWAT-ing thing that was going on.
And that very night, I mean, just before it happened, I happened to be reading on X. and looking at some videos about conservative commentators.
It's funny you mention how you don't like the influencer tag.
I hate it.
I don't have the requisite cleavage for that.
Real influencers have serious cleavage.
Bill Belichick could be an influencer.
But anyway, I had just been reading about it.
Headed off to bed and Ranger my German Shepherd with whom you're quite familiar He's agitated.
He's not letting me go to sleep as ears are up moving like satellite dishes and and I pay attention to his moods because he's an intelligent dog and He doesn't do these things randomly now.
I didn't think you know there are five dogs Men in body armor with AR-15s coming down my driveway.
I was thinking, you know, maybe he hears, you know, a deer or a dog.
And to be clear, just, I've been to your home numerous times, beautiful place, but you are secluded.
You are, it's very dark back there.
It's very secluded.
You're three miles away from civilization.
So carry on.
30 minutes from civilization.
So nobody randomly appears on my deck in the middle of the night.
Anyway, so eventually I get up.
I see a flashlight reflection off of my bedroom door.
I get my weapon.
I come out.
I see men, the silhouettes of five, excuse me, at first I see one, then two more, and then there were two more on the perimeter of my home.
Three men walking around on my deck with AR-15s.
And but I couldn't see that they were wearing uniforms.
And so I'm trying to, you know, evaluate what is going on.
As we were just talking about USAID, I'm thinking in my head, you know, USAID, it happened like maybe what?
Two weeks before, three weeks before.
So I'm thinking that maybe this is associated with that.
And I eventually am able to deduce that these are police officers and all's well that ends well.
But my cameras, my camera footage, my security cameras captured this perfectly.
And I put it online, it got 37 million views.
And then, you know, last night, there was another attempt.
And how is it possible, Chad?
That in the local police department, where 37 million people just on my ex-feed saw this footage, but the local dispatcher whom I called last night had not heard of swatting, did not know me, knew nothing of the event at my house, and nearly sent another unit out to my house again.
I mean, Unreal.
It is unreal.
You were able to diffuse.
And again, you live in the South.
You live in the Deep South.
When you have five men on your patio or deck in the middle of the night, you tend to come out with gun in hand.
You did.
Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed.
Everyone was able to defuse the situation.
You weren't pointing the gun at anybody.
There's plenty of the clips that people can go see.
It's been discussed over and over.
Folks can go find this information at Larry at Larry Taunton over on X. You defuse the situation.
You're correct.
You know, you have a small dispatch office, a small police department.
I live in Montgomery County, Texas.
I reached out to My friend, the Sheriff, when these things were happening, I tend to keep my profile pretty low in terms of being able to find me, but anything is possible.
And I reached out to Sheriff Wesley Doolittle here in Montgomery County, Texas, and various others, and I said, are you aware of what's happening?
They finally were able to respond and say, you know, we're getting information, gathering information, and we're trying to make people aware.
Certainly we'll put your, you know, information, your phone number and all of this in your address on a flagged 911 system so that we don't rush to a site in this situation or we'll call you first.
Which a lot of people were being encouraged to touch base with their law enforcement and kind of be proactive in what was going on.
You had the same situation that I did.
Last night when you texted me about this, I sent the message to someone who's been on the forefront of digging deep into this, trying to uncover and attempt to catch the people who are doing this.
Lots of speculation, lots of mystery shrouding it.
My friend and journalist Brianna Morello.
And I wanted to connect you to her first question was, have you, since the swatting incident, had you been reached out to by the FBI?
Because Kash Patel said a little over a week ago that he was going to put together a task force to pursue this with the FBI.
Had you been contacted by the FBI?
Not a word.
And what's more discouraging, Chad, is how is it that, and I've spoken to a few law enforcement Yeah.
Yeah. Pizza orders begin showing up or at least you start receiving emails or texts for pizza orders that you have not ordered So let's say you're sitting in your home all of a sudden you or
your you know Your girlfriend or your wife starts getting texts that your Domino's pizza or whatever is on the way And you're thinking I didn't order a pizza I don't know what this is all about.
And the pizza orders, it seems, are a way of, it's not only harassment, but it's a way of determining whether or not you're at home.
And then following the pizza order, the swatting takes place.
So Lori begins getting all these texts that Domino's, Pizza Hut, Papa John's, some other, you know, pizzeria are sending pizzas to us.
And this is going on all last night.
So I called 911 and I said, hey, I want to give you guys a heads up.
You might be getting a call claiming there's a shooting going on in my home.
I'm the guy who was swatted, you know, just a couple of weeks ago.
Guy had no idea what I was talking about.
Wow. And when I mentioned the pizza orders, he had no idea what I was talking about.
And I found that very discouraging.
Yeah. I was at a social event and ran into a friend who is also a federal agent.
And I asked him, I said, are you familiar with swatting?
This was right after it happened with you.
And he looked at me very blankly and said, no, it was dumbfounded at the term swatting.
And it has become something that is to me disconcerting that there isn't more being done because it's a miracle, quite honestly, that someone has not been killed.
In some cases, people have been killed.
Not in this recent.
Not in this swath of it, right.
That's right, not in the real recent cases.
But it creates a very combustible atmosphere because the officers coming to my home, they're responding to a dispatcher sending them.
And there's been an effort to dump on police officers and talk about how evil they are.
In my case, they were great.
They thought they were coming to possibly save lives.
Because they had been told there were three masked gunmen with rifles in my home, you know, killing everybody, executing people.
And you see, the people are calling in these fake 911 calls.
In every instance of which I'm aware, Chad, they tell the police, you have to come in the house.
You must come in and save me.
You got to come through the door.
You see, so again, it's an effort To get police to enter the door in the hopes that the homeowner will either A, get shot, or will start shooting at police officers.
And you can imagine just how dangerous the situation is.
Now, I want to give credit to the, I don't know if he was literally in charge, but he took charge of the situation.
The police officer in my case, or the sheriff's deputy, Deputy King, he exercised what I call country boy good sense.
By this time, I think he realized when I came out, you know, my boxers and with a Glock, barefooted, I think he realized this is a bogus call.
This man was in bed.
And I asked him later, were you shocked to see me with a gun?
He goes, I grew up here.
He says, everybody's got a gun.
And he said, and if a bunch of guys showed up on my porch in the middle of the night, I would have a gun too.
So I didn't think that was unreasonable.
And I think that's exercised very good sense.
But some of these conservatives have had police officers who are abusing their power, dragging them out in the middle of the night, when it's obvious that there's no shooting going on.
Their wives at gunpoint, you know, handcuffing them on their chest and their wand, all on TV.
These are terrible things.
They are.
We've got about a minute, minute and a half left, Larry.
I saw, you know, with 37 million views, you can only imagine the comments that come back to someone.
There were a lot of folks that were commenting on there saying, well, you survived because you're a white man.
If you'd have been a black man, the police probably would have shot you.
But the officer in charge there, He was a black man.
And he would tell you, I think, this had not a thing to do with race.
These are people who are trying to create controversy and to turn white people against black people, black people against...
It had not a thing to do with that.
Nothing whatsoever to do with that.
And hence the reason I was, again, I was very grateful for his good sense.
Well, I'm grateful for his good sense as well.
The image of you coming out in your boxers and disheveled hair and a Glock in hand will haunt my dreams.
I don't ever want to see that, Larry, but I want to make sure that you stay alive, okay, my friend?
I'm gonna plan a trip.
I'm gonna come see you soon.
Yeah, you do!
I'm gonna come out there and visit with you guys and see if I can bring some sense of normalcy back.

Thanks for joining us on the show.
For those of you who have had the opportunity to sit here and listen, I want you guys to be careful out there.
The left has chosen violent rhetoric and they are choosing violence.
And there are brainwashable people out there who are willing to utilize that rhetoric to be motivated to do damage and harm against those who claim to be conservatives.
Keep your head on a swivel.
Use common sense and critical thinking.
Pay attention to your surroundings and my goodness, exercise the Second Amendment for your own safety and defense.
Folks, as I stated earlier, John Locke's principles of freedom, life, liberty and property.
