You want to listen to a podcast?
By who?
Georgia GOP Congressman Doug Collins.
How is it?
The greatest thing I have ever heard in my whole life.
I could not believe my ears.
This house, wherever the rules are disregarded, chaos and mob rule.
It has been said today, where is bravery?
I'll tell you where bravery is found and courage is found.
It's found in this minority who has lived through the last year of nothing but rules being broken, people being put down, questions not being answered, and this majority say, be damned with anything else.
We're going to impeach and do whatever we want to do.
Why?
Because we won an election.
I guarantee you, one day you'll be back in the minority and it ain't gonna be that fun.
Everybody's Doug Collins.
Welcome back to the podcast today.
Curtis Victor's on with us.
It's going to be a wild time.
I'll just say, sit back and get ready.
We're just going to have a good time talking about what's going on in the world.
Straight up, not any bull, because there's just been a lot going on.
And when you look at it from a perspective of the mainstream media, they've lost sort of control of the narrative.
The FBI is running loose right now with raids when they could be doing it differently.
I mean, there's just a lot of things going on, and I couldn't think of a better person to have on, a friend to have on today to talk about the state of the world than Kurt.
Kurt, welcome to the show.
Hey, thanks for having me.
Let's just start off where we're at right now.
The Democrats have gotten...
I think the panic has set in that November is coming, and they're doing everything they possibly can to avoid what is shaping up to be a wipeout, especially in the House, probably in the Senate.
And then all of a sudden, out of the blue, and you're an attorney, I'm an attorney, you have the FBI just go pull...
An amazingly stupid stunt is the way it appears right now.
Where are we at right now?
What's going on?
They're continuing their effort to frame Donald Trump for the same reason they have for six years.
It's really a message to anyone who's not within the establishment that the incompetents, losers, weirdos, and mutations who make up our ruling class are not going to just give up power.
They're going to try and hold on.
Look, this...
This isn't a flex from strength.
This is a flex from weakness.
And I'm not even sure that they expected the blowback that they got.
Though it took a little while for a lot of Republicans to find their spine.
The first Dane McConnell wouldn't say anything about it.
Because there were floods!
And that's all he could talk about!
He had to talk about the floods!
Boy, McConnell.
Boy, he used to be a knife fighter.
Now he's really becoming a joke.
I mean, if you can get your behind handed to you like he did by Chuck Schumer, which is like being tricked by your beagle.
You know, you're losing a step.
And then Tim Scott, he's a perfectly nice guy.
I like Tim Scott.
I love him as a neighbor.
He's got no business being a leader of the Republican Party or a candidate for president.
Because he just doesn't get...
He actually goes on CBS News and says, we need to wait and see what this is about and what they found.
No.
No, we don't.
We don't need to do any of that.
Who are these people?
Scott, of course, is on the cutting edge of 2004. You know, I'm surprised.
Empowerment conservatism that allows people to be the very best they can be.
No, I'd rather shut the border down, stop criminals, and...
Keep him being thrown in jail for opposing the Bidens.
But, you know, if you want to recite weekly standard talking points from earlier in the century, I guess that's a thing.
Like I said, nice guy, great neighbor.
I'm sure he'd jumpstart my BMW if the battery ever ran down.
But I don't want him or anyone like him anywhere near any kind of levers of power.
But a lot of other Republicans kind of figured out, wait a minute, this is bad.
I mean, even Lindsey Graham figured out it was bad, which, you know, that's telling you something.
No, it really is bad, and we need to understand there's a different paradigm happening, there's a different set of rules.
The idea that we should somehow defer to or respect the FBI, that's a joke.
We shouldn't.
In fact, we should move forward to completely defund and disband it.
I would break the counterintelligence, like they do in Britain.
Counterintelligence and law enforcement are not together, because then you got the police state spying on normal citizens.
No, we need the equivalent of an MI5 and we need a smaller federal law enforcement organization because there should be fewer federal laws to enforce.
But look, we've got to follow up on this.
This just isn't going to go away.
The rules have changed and the other side must suffer.
Well, in looking at that, especially from the law enforcement, just the absolute different standard.
And I've talked about this a good bit.
We did a podcast yesterday on this two-tier justice issue.
And I think this is where the FBI is missing it And I think it's playing to us and conservatives who've been screaming about it for years and we've talked about it because now you have a direct correlation.
Donald Trump and rightfully so can say, look, they went into my private home.
They didn't have to do this.
But then the standard was Hillary Clinton's emails.
Hunter Biden's out there with drugs, prostitutes, naked and a gun.
Nobody does anything to him.
I mean, how do you get to this level of tone deafness at the FBI? Well, it's not tone deaf.
They know exactly what they're doing and they thought they would get away with it.
The thing is, we need to keep pointing out the hypocrisy to normal people who aren't paying attention and whose normal sense of justice You know, repels them from this sort of thing.
But among us conservatives, I don't want to hear anymore about, you know, the hypocrisy of the FBI. I don't want to hear it because that's established.
I want to hear how we're going to destroy the FBI. I want to hear how this accursed agency is going to be disbanded and defunded.
And I don't want to hear any more good apple crap.
Alright, what's the name of the FBI agent who said, here's my gun, here's my badge, I won't be any part of this.
Now, I'm sure some have retired sooner than they would or not joined, but I'd like to see a few go, no, I'm not doing it because I won't be part of an American saucy.
And, of course, we haven't seen.
Instead, we see 30 of these schmucks show up with their stupid windbreakers and their assault rifles to go raid Mar-a-Lago!
You know?
I mean, remember, these are the guys who, you know, murdered the mom of a guy who may or may not have sold a Sheldorf shotgun 30 years ago.
In the Randy Weaver thing.
They blew his nine-year-old kid away.
They killed 80-some people at Waco.
Their crime lab put out false results that led to the conviction of many, many people, including some death row guys.
They have lied on warrants.
They have lied to Congress.
They have leaked classified material.
I don't want to hear anything about the FBI. The problem with conservatives is we want to conserve, but sometimes that leads to us telling ourselves there's something worth conserving.
There's nothing worth it here.
This agency is corrupt to its core and needs to be destroyed in disgrace.
And it's important to be disgraced.
I have to emphasize that the disgrace is key because we don't want to repeat this.
We want people to whisper, oh, you remember about the FBI? Yeah, man, what a disgrace.
You know, like, it's got to go.
And I think the important—look, I think we're going to win the elections in the short term.
I think we'll get the Congress.
I think we'll get the Senate.
I'm going out to speak for Adam Laxald at an event this weekend.
I think he's going to win.
I think we'll get a three, maybe four-seat majority in the Senate.
I don't buy the whole, oh, Joe Biden's coming back!
You know?
Inflation's only 8.5%!
Yay!
I know, I'm not buying any of that.
But the Republicans have to understand what time it is.
And I keep coming back to that, but you know, there are a lot of guys in Congress who don't want to go in there and defeat the enemy.
They want to go in there and play clinky-clinky with the John Boehner, ooh, let's go have a steak at the palm with the guy for the Industrial Corporation LLP or whatever.
That's just not going to work, and we're just not going to tolerate it.
And you see guys like Kevin McCarthy, who would much rather be calling donors and schmoozing them, having to put out statements like, oh, man, we're going to get you.
Well, I don't think he's going to have any choice.
I mean, as much as they'd like to go back to business as usual, the base ain't going to have it.
And you're going to see a bunch of new guys in Congress, you know, J.D. Vance, Blake Masters, even guys who the establishment likes, like Adam Laxalt and Eric Schmidt.
These guys are based, you know?
Schmidt just sent a letter to the FBI. The FBI said, well, we're going to come audit the concealed carry permits at some sheriff's departments in Missouri because I guess they don't have to investigate any more hangman nooses at NASCAR garages.
I guess there's nothing else going on.
And, you know, Eric Schmidt says, no, you're not going to do any of that.
I mean, even the establishment guys are getting more based.
So the, you know, as much as I like the Tim Scotts, and I don't mind one or two Tim Scotts, because I'd love to live in the world of a Tim Scott.
That would be nice.
But this ain't that world.
It's going to take street fighters to get us there.
And then, of course, they're going to look back and go, well, you know, they were a little extreme and wild.
Don't look for any thanks for fighting the battle once we've won it.
Just understand that.
Well, I think that is the fight.
I mean, this is the problem we've seen all along.
And it's something that I think, and I've talked to many members, you know, current members, and going back in, I say, look, you've got to have, you've got to push it.
And Josh Hawley had a comment.
I'd love to hear your comment on this.
Josh Hawley made a statement the other day.
He said, look at what the...
He said, I've hated everything they've done.
He said, but look at what the Democrats did with a 50-50 Senate.
He said, they passed all of this stuff because they stuck together.
He said, we don't ever do that.
He said, we've got to push it to the edge so that we get what we want.
And everybody's just got to...
Basically, what he was saying is everybody just needs to suck it up and realize that we're here to make change, not to get along.
Well, yeah.
I mean, that's going to take a much bigger majority.
Well, I mean, it's going to take a decent-sized majority.
I mean, we're split down the middle.
And I've got to give McConnell credit for keeping the 50 people together.
I mean, he keeps a coalition from Susan Collins all the way up to Josh Hawley together almost all the time.
So he should get some credit for that, but he's got to wake up too.
He's got to get his step back because he's kind of losing it lately.
I mean, getting rolled by Schumer like that was just, what are you doing?
Going for gun control?
Unbelievable.
Well, it was.
It was amazing.
I've always said it was going to be Build Back Mansion, all this stuff.
Mansion was playing the cards over there.
And it was interesting, when McConnell came out and said, we're not going to give you the chip back, Mansion went silent, all the time doing everything behind the scenes.
And the minute they got the chip, Mansion all of a sudden reappeared.
I mean, they got played.
They got rolled.
We need to emphasize, Mitch, you got humiliated.
He made you their bitch.
Okay, Mitch the bitch.
You got humiliated.
You got pants.
Buy Schumer!
You ought to be embarrassed.
Yeah, I think he is embarrassed.
I think he's deeply embarrassed.
But there was a time when you wouldn't want to embarrass Mitch, because he'd get you.
They're not afraid of him anymore.
That's bad.
Well, and that'll be interesting to see if he actually pops back up.
One of the interesting things out of this past week, and especially the things coming up and all the, you know, look, the media can hyperventilate about, oh, there's a, you know, there's not going to be a, I actually read somewhere they said, oh, instead of a class five hurricane, it's going to be a class three.
I think they still got problems.
But one of the things I think this past couple weeks has actually done, though, is I think that the 2024 field now, it's Trump's.
Everybody else, it's only if he doesn't run.
This raid, if the FBI didn't want it or wanted it however they thought it was going to play out, it did that.
You know, I don't...
Look, first of all, this movement is not Trump's.
Trump just is the avatar of it.
So the idea that these are Trump's candidates...
Well, Trump supported a lot of these candidates, but a lot of these candidates are grabbing the issues that Trump was smart enough to grab because no one else would.
We had 17 guys run for president in 2016, and none of them wanted to say, hey, you know what's bad?
Illegal immigration.
Shut the border down.
Nobody wanted to say that because you weren't supposed to.
Corporate tax cuts, focus on that.
By the way, a lot of these guys understand that corporations are not our friends.
They've all adopted the politics of the CEO's 30-year-old blonde second wife.
They're not our friends, and they should be treated with a whip and a chair, like Ron DeSantis does.
Now, obviously, DeSantis is the obvious nemesis to Trump.
I think DeSantis has to run because I think it's his time.
You don't want to miss your window like President Chris Christie and President Mario Cuomo did.
Of course, Chris Christie couldn't fit out a window.
I mean, you have to have a French door or something.
But the...
I want a vicious primary.
I want a primary where whoever decides he's going to run gets tested hard, and that includes Trump.
I like Trump.
Nice guy.
I think he's a good president.
I am absolutely unsentimental about him.
I don't care if he's president again or not.
I want the guy who is best for us.
Politicians are fungible.
They are disposable and expendable.
I am uninterested in the personal insult that he suffered by...
You know, all these attacks on him, the election nonsense, which was bad.
I was part of the election response team.
None of that interests me.
I'm interested in only one thing, which is defeating the enemy.
And if Trump is the strongest guy to defeat the enemy, then I'm for it.
And if he's not, here's a gold watch.
Thanks.
Move on.
Next.
And I think more Republicans need to be unsentimental about it.
Trump needs to be tested.
There's no coronation.
His personnel choices were disastrous in many cases.
I mean, it's easier to think of like the three good guys, you know, the Rick Grinnells and the Robert O'Briens.
And that is all.
Maybe Matt Whitaker.
You know, has he learned anything?
Does he still talk to Maggie Haberman?
Has he learned from that?
I mean, if he's still talking to Maggie Haberman, that tells me he's not learned anything.
That's a strike against you, Mr. President.
Like I said, I am unsentimental about it.
If he's not going to learn and improve, I don't want to deal with it.
I will need somebody else.
And Ron DeSantis.
I like a lot of things I've seen about him.
I don't know that much about him.
What's he think about foreign policy?
What's he think about Ukraine?
I'd like to know.
What's he think about how we deal with China?
What would he do in Taiwan?
I'd like to know.
And maybe he's got bad ideas, because a lot of people have bad ideas about these things.
Do you think you've seen it, Kurt, on both sides?
I mean, I'm going to say liberal, but we're concerned that we've gotten too attracted to the shiny object.
One good quote, one good thing that we don't do what you just talked about, and that is dig in to what candidates believe, what they think.
And I think that's something I saw in Congress all the time.
If you had some people who could talk about maybe one or two things, but there was no breadth of what I call personal, this is what I believe, this is why I believe it.
How do we...
How can we do that better?
Well, look, there's two kinds of guys.
There's the guys who are going to drive the engine who believe things and know why they believe them.
Okay?
Guys like you and I have been in this for a while.
We have a pretty comprehensive worldview.
And there's guys who are going to just vote the way we want them to.
And there's room for both.
I don't need everybody to be a genius.
I don't even want everybody to be a genius.
Geniuses tend to want to go out there and do things for themselves.
I want a lot of Republicans who vote the way I damn well tell them.
Same with Supreme Court justices.
I don't care.
Look, I'm a lawyer.
I've argued in front of circuit courts of appeal.
I don't care about most, not all.
I mean, we need some intellectual judges.
But most judges, look, I just want you to vote my way.
Oh, Kurt, I can't believe you're saying that!
No, I'm saying it.
Doug, I mean, when you got assigned a federal judge in a case, what's the first thing you did?
Oh, you looked up.
Yeah, you looked up the judge, found out who appointed him.
That's the first thing you did, because you're a good lawyer.
Every single lawyer does that.
So, I don't need a Congress full of leaders.
I need a Congress full of followers with a few leaders.
And they better follow, you know, in lockstep.
I don't need Adam Kinzinger's.
I don't need the Beltway Cowgirl.
You know, I don't need Pete Majors or any of these other guys.
Nancy Mace.
You know, you either get on the team.
Or we're going to smoke you.
And you're going to get primaried.
And I love watching this one in Washington got beaten by Joe Kent.
You don't get to vote for impeachment.
Well, you see, Donald Trump...
No, no, no, no, no.
You're doing it wrong.
The enemy decide they want to impeach the guy.
So you don't go along with it.
I don't care if he's got a hatchet.
That's dripping with blood and he's walking out of Lizzie Borden's house.
All right?
This is not, we are not here about Trump's a good guy or a bad guy.
We're here about the future of our country.
And that's what we're saying.
You went into the justice.
I think one of the things looking, if you look at it now, the left's just hysteria over the last few months about the courts and the Supreme Court in particular, which is Trump's.
There's a lot of accomplishments in the Trump administration that nobody thought would happen, but the courts won up.
The court's the biggest.
Yes.
It's huge.
And it provides the foundation, the springboard for the attack to come.
But we've got to attack.
You know, the idea that there's been Republican majorities with a Republican president and NPR continues to get funded.
Okay?
That makes us an essentially unserious party.
You're giving money to your enemy.
And I think the problem would be, you know, the Tim Scott guys.
Again, I like Tim Scott.
I think he's got a great story.
He's a nice guy.
There's a place for him.
It's just not in leadership.
And it's not setting the pace.
But the idea that you are somehow morally obligated to give money to your enemies and not exercise your power to counterbalance their exercise of power against you.
There's this weird conservative notion.
You see it from the National Review types.
Ron DeSantis can't use political power against a giant corporation.
I mean, it can use its own political power by funding the enemy.
It can use its economic power.
It can use its cultural power to essentially gang-rape your constituents.
Figuratively.
But you can't possibly use your power, which is incidentally given to you by the people voting for you, to resist that.
And I never get good explanation why, except, oh, well, I never, and then, like, various pearl clutchings.
That's not who we are.
That's who I am.
And you just brought this up, because I saw this a lot in Congress, and sitting there, is that we, you know, it was this whole idea that, and I remember this being there, that some of the first answers we got a lot of times from leadership on why we couldn't pass something was, well, the Senate won't go for it.
Well, The last time I checked, that was a different body.
Let's pass the most conservative thing we can pass, and if it's 98% of what we want and it comes back at 88%, then we'll make a decision.
But this idea of starting at 70 and getting it back at 45 is a whole problem.
Well, look, the House of Representatives, I don't understand why it's the more submissive body.
They're co-equal branches, although no senator will ever say that.
And by the way, I've never met so many people with so much amazing self-regard with so little behind it.
With some exceptions.
I mean, you know, Ted Cruz has won nine Supreme Court cases.
I'm pretty impressed by that.
Okay?
I'm pretty impressed by that.
But a lot of these guys are just hacks.
And they haven't done much.
You know, just bored rich guys.
So I don't understand why the People's Representatives...
As opposed to what should be the state's representatives.
I sure wouldn't have a problem with undoing the 17th Amendment, but that's all the story.
I don't understand why the people won't take the lead on this stuff.
The thing is, it's easier for the House to take the lead.
The House Majority Leader just says, you're going to do this, and it happens.
And if you don't believe it, just look at Nancy Pelosi.
Well, I mean...
I mean, let's be honest here.
Yeah.
She wants it, she gets it done.
She's a good politician, and you shouldn't underestimate Nancy Pelosi.
She is going to have these guys do this suicidal IRS Expansion Act vote, and they're all going to do it.
They're all going to do it, just like they all did it for Obamacare, and we crushed them, and I think we're going to crush them on this, too.
I don't know about you, but I have not heard word on the street among normal people that I know going, you know what we need more of?
We need to add about half the Marine Corps worth of new IRS agents.
Yeah.
Nobody's out there saying it.
And the biggest lie about this all is they came with a spin the other day that, well, they're going to be getting all this money in that we don't have right now.
But the only problem is the place that they're going to go get it, they showed that all the audits are going to take place under $100,000.
It's just, really?
Well, look, everything's a lie and a scam.
The problem...
And it's a vicious circle.
You have a regime media that licks at the toes of the Democrats like Dick Morris on a hooker.
And that allows them these ridiculous lies like President Krusty comes out yesterday and says, Well, we had 0% inflation.
Okay, that's just not true.
That's not true.
In any sense.
And you would think that somebody in the mainstream media, if we had one, would point that out.
But they won't.
And it, you know...
So it empowers lying.
And it increases cynicism.
I think the pushback's going to be pretty incredible.
Which, of course, raising the issue of the media, that is our enemy.
I don't understand, you know, Tim Scott goes...
I don't want to pick on Tim Scott.
Again, he's a nice guy, but he's weak.
Okay?
He's Tom Hagen, and we need a wartime councillor, Gary.
You know what I'm saying?
He goes on CBS Morning News.
I know he has a book to push, but he's a Republican, and he goes and he talks to the enemy.
He goes and talks to the enemy.
Why are you helping the enemy?
If you're not there to burn everything down, then you have no business talking to the enemy.
Well, we have to talk to other people and build bridges.
No, no, no, no, no.
Bridge over River Kwai.
Be Alec Guinness.
Wake up and push the plunger and blow the bridge to hell.
Speaking of blowing stuff up, your Army background, I'm Air Force background with military background, both of us in for a long time.
I've been in plus 20. You are in as well.
The question is up now, and I want to switch gears here a little bit and switch that, because I'm very concerned about what we're seeing in the military.
Number one, we can't get...
I mean, the Army is nowhere close to their limit.
They've actually took a division off the table, so we're just not even going to fund these this year.
We're taking a whole $12,000, almost a division or plus.
We can't put them.
Well, look, and you know why?
It's guys like me saying, don't join the Army.
40 or 50% of soldiers are legacies.
I'm joined because my dad was in, and my grandpa, and my cousin was in, and my neighbor was in.
They're legacies.
They're joining not because they want to enjoy the great conditions and great pay, but because they want to be part of that tradition.
They want to serve their country.
They want to prove something to themselves.
They want to be a member of that elite.
And only a small portion of Americans are.
And those of us who've already done are saying, no, don't do it because they've betrayed you.
They betrayed you by lying about our strategic threats.
Our strategic threats are not the weather and whatever white nationalism is.
You know, I don't know about you.
I've been around a lot.
I've been to 48 or 50 states.
I don't know if I've ever met a real white nationalist.
I have a feeling if you put them all in a wood chipper, you probably wouldn't fill up a Ford van with all the actual white nationalists in America.
And, I mean, it's a worthwhile experiment, don't get me wrong, but this is just not the biggest threat.
The biggest threat is China, North Korea, Iran, Russia.
You know, nation states who hate us.
I know I'm kind of being a little traditional there, but tradition works.
So we're not focused on the real threat.
Our troops are not taken care of.
What happened in Afghanistan was a freaking disgrace.
I happen to represent, as a lawyer, one of the families of one of the guys killed.
I was there when the Marine came and briefed the tactical situation, the report, and I can report to you guys that the, tactically, the battalion level, the Marines performed nearly flawlessly, but they were completely set up for failure by higher headquarters.
Absolutely.
It was a disaster.
Now, of course, the Marines didn't brief that.
They said, we're just talking about the battalion, but...
If your battalion is put physically next to hundreds of unvetted Afghans, one with 720 ball bearings surrounded by plastic explosives, It is going to wander up.
And that's exactly what happened.
We knew about it.
We could have set the infrastructure up for an evacuation.
And they didn't.
Absolute disgrace.
The wokeness, the lack of combat readiness, the total unserious...
Look, if you have Transgender Pride Month, you're not a serious organization.
That's not a serious wartime organization.
Chinese are serious.
You know, they're serious.
And going back to Afghanistan, and you're representing this, this is the part that now, again, because the Biden administration, the media, there's nothing that's been really in-depth.
This is going to be, I think, the story of the next few years.
I really truly believe it's why, aside from all the domestic stupidity, Afghanistan is Biden's Achilles heel.
It is the one thing that most Americans can't fathom us looking like we did on that stage.
My question though is, from the military perspective here, is how did we get to the point where we were giving up strategical and tactical advantages to move back to a city airport in Kabul when we had Bagram sitting up there and we just, we walk away one night.
One morning the Afghans go to sleep.
They're sleeping.
They wake up the next morning and say, where did everybody go?
Because that's what the commander said.
Here's two questions I always ask.
What is the name of the general who is relieved of command or admiral for failing to win in Iraq or Afghanistan?
The second question I have is, what is the name of the general?
He said, here are my stars.
I won't be part of this.
And the answer to both is none.
And that answers all the questions that you have to have.
Look, at the national level, you've got to get a different president.
But us guys who are military, we need to face facts that our military leadership is an utter disaster.
I mean, Millie is the worst president.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.
Ever.
Ever.
And, you know, the thing is, I've talked to people who knew him younger when he was a battalion commander.
He was a great battalion commander.
I mean, just fine battalion commander.
Talk about the Peter principle.
But it's, you know, the next president has to go in, fire all the Joint Chiefs.
Put in new guys and start giving orders.
You know, orders and then following up.
And you know how to do it.
You know, it's the same principle as taking over a company or a squadron or whatever the heck you have.
You come and you say, guys, it's 9 a.m.
Monday.
You're going to come back and report to me at 9 a.m.
Friday, 0900 Friday.
You're going to report to me that you have ended all CRT stuff in the military.
You scrubbed every curriculum at the academies and the schools.
There are no more pride months.
You've closed down the Office of Diversity, Equity, and more diversity.
All that stuff is that we're not having any more, you know, no more drag queens on post.
We're not doing any of that.
Make sure you understand my order because you're going to come back and tell me you've done it on Friday or I'm going to relieve you.
Oh, and when I relieve you, I'm going to direct you not to retire while we determine what rank you performed at adequately last.
Because it ain't four-star if I relieve you.
And that will focus them.
Now, you've been to a million orders groups like I have.
There's like five or six, you know, you have the 06 and there's five or six 05s and they're like, okay, what's the mission?
We're going to defend here.
I'm going to attack.
There's always that one guy.
The one guy, you don't get the message.
That's good.
You figuratively post his head at the door of the Pentagon so everybody sees it coming in when you relieve him.
But you need a president who is not blinded by starlight, who understands how to be a commander, which is, you know, orders briefing, not decision briefing, not course of action.
This is an orders briefing.
You should have your notepad out because I'm going to tell you what you're going to do.
Then you're going to come back and affirm to me that you have done it, which, of course, if you're lying to me, that's a false statement.
And I will prosecute your ass.
And then you do it.
And I think what you just hit on there a few minutes ago, talking about not being starstruck on these generals, that's one of the problems we're having right now in Congress.
You have too many in Congress who, I mean, right now, the chairman and ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee have never served.
Now, I'm not saying it should be a requirement, but most of the committee, most of Congress doesn't understand that.
So when you see these higher officers come in, there is deference given to them, whether they earned it or not.
At one time, you know, they maybe deserve, right after Gulf War, yeah, I would say they deserve some respect.
I was there.
They were pretty impressive.
They did a really good job.
They haven't unequivocally won a war in 20 years.
When they come in, it's not...
These guys are a football team that's heading towards the end of the season and they've got 0-14.
We're not worthy.
It's like, why do you suck?
I like that there are a lot more military people coming into Congress.
I mean, I think we need a good mix of junior officers, NCOs, and fairly senior guys.
But they've got to understand, you know, the generals put their pants on just like us, except someone brings them to him in the morning.
You know, so he doesn't lose them.
It's been a lot of medals.
Yeah, I mean, you know, General, you've got a lot of medals there, but I don't see a lot of victories.
I don't see a lot of victories.
I see a lot of disasters.
So I'm not impressed by your performance.
In fact, you should be embarrassed.
Why are you coming here telling me this is the greatest fighting force in American history when that's demonstrably false?
Why are you saying that?
Do you believe it's true?
Do you believe that the American military now is better than the American military of, say, March of 1991?
If so, explain to me!
With evidence why you think that and not cliches.
Remember, General, look, you've seen the same thing.
You see guys who are unbelievably brave on the battlefield.
Milley, my gosh, he did it.
He got shot at.
He shot people.
He was very brave.
Then he gets to Washington and he folds like a cheap suit.
Yeah.
You know, there's a lot going on.
Real quickly before we get gone here.
Next, if you were to give a call to conservatives so that we get ready for November in a succinct, curt, slicker way, how would you do it?
Well, to the people or to the Republicans themselves?
Look, we have to get activated.
We can't take this for granted.
We are seeing the perfectly predictable, hey, Biden's back!
Biden's never coming back.
That guy's too far gone.
We can't let ourselves be fooled.
We can't let ourselves be distracted.
We have a lot of great candidates.
We have history and historical wins in our favor.
I think we're going to do very well, but we've got to run up the score.
And we've got to have a decisive majority both in the House and the Senate.
When we get there, we need to understand what the House and the Senate can do.
Now, I still remember civics.
The House and the Senate, with the numbers we're talking about, can't pass laws on their own because they can't overturn a veto.
So the only thing that we can do is stop bad things from happening, conduct vigorous oversight, Yeah, exactly.
No shift, Sherlock.
No, they're not going to.
We need to be realistic about what we can do.
by saying, you know, we can't wave a magic wand and bring laws into effect when, you know, we got that crusty old puppet in the White House.
And, you know, frustration makes you stupid.
And I...
That's why I don't believe in it.
And that's where we're at.
Folks, if you want to get it straight, you're going to get it from Doug and Kurt Get Together.
We're just going to talk about it, tell it just like it is.
And Kurt took us with us today.

We'll have a good time.
Let's keep it up.
I'm sure we'll see each other out on the campaign trails for some of these great candidates.
We've got to get it in our sights.
It is about changing the course of America, and it's about a battle that's got to be fought.
We've got to be a part of that.
Kurt, thanks for being with me today.
Hey, thanks for having me, and go help Herschel win.
We'll get it out.
We'll do it out.
