Bonus Sample: The Next Plandemic Grift

Peter McCullough recently shared a ton of misinformation about mpox while speaking to Drew Pinsky; both men work for The Wellness Company, a supplements company that weaponizes anti-vax misinformation to sell products. Mikki Willis uses the Hero's Journey as a guide to dealing with mpox—and falsely represents Joseph Campbell's work. Russell Brand and Bret Weinstein claim mpox is a government psyop and nothing more. Derek looks at the conspiritualist fervor bubbling up around what's turning out to be another dangerous virus by men who do everything but point to sound public health measures. Time Text
So Nick Holscher at McCulloch Foundation reported, even back in 2003, Anthony Fauci, National Allergy, Immunology, Infectious Disease Branch, they actually had projects on gata function monkeypox, trying to get to human-to-human transmission.
Then in 2022, when we actually did see human-to-human transmission, now analyses of the genetic code have concluded It was gain-of-function mutations that allowed it.
Now, the authors don't say if it's man-made or if these were natural gain-of-function mutations, but they were.
So the virus had a new function, and that is it could transmit from human to human.
Previously, before 2022, it didn't happen.
It was always animal To man.
You might recognize that voice as Peter McCullough, the anti-vax cardiologist who was boosted by Joe Rogan in a misinformation filled episode about COVID vaccines.
But as it turns out, grifting against COVID vaccines might be a little less profitable these days.
And so people like McCullough are looking for the next vaccine to rage against.
And it seems at least for now, That they've landed on Mpox.
I'm Derek Barris, and you're listening to a Conspiratuality Bonus episode that I titled, The Next Plandemic Grift.
And if you are thinking we're going to talk about Mickey Willis in this because I flagged plandemic in the title, you are absolutely correct.
We'll get to him, but I want to start with McCullough, who is involved with The Wellness Company, who we've criticized often on this podcast because they are leading the charge in both spreading anti-vax information and then monetizing it.
So on Monday, I received an email from them titled Monkey Pox.
We now call it M-Pox, but some people still refer to it as Monkey Pox.
Monkey Pox declared a worldwide emergency.
And they're referencing WHO's recent assertion that we should pay attention to what this virus is doing.
Now, after McCullough is quoted in the email stating that he didn't think it was a grave threat yet, you see a link and a big banner for their medical emergency kit.
where the wellness company sells ivermectin, amoxicillin, azithromycin, and a whole bunch
of other drugs, which you have to apparently go through some sort of online consultation
before they'll sell it to you for a few hundred dollars.
I'll also get back to how they are trying to monetize vaccine disinformation because
it seems to be pretty common in this space.
But first, from that first clip I just played, I want to go over what McCullough gets wrong
because that is from a show he did with Dr. Drew Pinsky recently, and even in just the
three minute clip that I'm using, there's so much egregious information and straight
misinformation.
So the first documented case of human-to-human transmission of monkeypox occurred not in 2022, but in 1970.
And that happened in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
I'll be referring to that country as Congo moving forward.
But mpox was first identified in research monkeys in Denmark in 1958, but the first human case was in the Congo in 1970, and it was found in a nine-month-old child.
Now following this case, human-to-human transmission was observed in the Congo.
A decade later, researchers looked into this because it was all over the nation, and they discovered that 27.5% of cases in the Congo since it was first discovered in 1970 were transmitted between humans.
Now that said, human-to-human transmission outside of Africa was rare, and the first case that was observed outside of that continent was in the UK in 2018.
But within Africa in the 1990s, a study in the Congo found that 78% of 419 recorded cases were secondary infections that were most likely due to human-to-human transmission.
Now part of the reason of the concern about why the WHO is declaring mpox to be a health emergency right now is partly due to the 2022 global outbreak that did in fact increase the frequency of human-to-human transmission and so we're being warned about it.
But There's no evidence that that came from gain-of-function research and this virus has been observed for over 50 years being transmitted between humans.
So you see yet once again how McCulloch takes a little bit of information and basically remixes it to fit into the narrative of someone who works for a supplements company that wants you to quote unquote protect your immune system
and quote unquote be afraid of big pharma.
Or in this case, since he's actually selling you pharmaceutical drugs,
be aware of the government's PSYOP.
And as you'll notice as I go through the characters today who are warning against MPOX,
it is really the PSYOP angle that is winning right now.
But that also attracts considering that's basically how the anti-vax movement weaponized COVID
in the early days of the pandemic.
Bye!
