DHS Colluding With Social Media
00:09:12
|
|
| Hey everybody, today in the Charlie Kirk show, Department of Homeland Security leaks. | |
| Pretty remarkable. | |
| Back-end access for law enforcement to be able to get into Facebook to stifle your speech and prevent you to be able to speak your mind online. | |
| It's a remarkable expansion of the United States security state. | |
| We have Senator Ted Cruz joining us as well about his new book and midterm chances. | |
| Email me your thoughts as always, freedom at charliekirk.com. | |
| Support the Charlie Kirk Show at charliekirk.com slash support. | |
| And as always, get involved with TurningPointUSA at tpusa.com. | |
| That is tpusa.com. | |

| Start a college chapter at tpusa.com. | |
| And come to AmericaFestamFest.com, Phoenix, Arizona, December 17, 18, 19, and 20. | |
| Buckle up, everybody. | |
| Here we go. | |
| Charlie, what you've done is incredible here. | |
| Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campus. | |
| I want you to know we are lucky to have Charlie Kirk. | |
| Charlie Kirk's running the White House, folks. | |
| I want to thank Charlie. | |
| He's an incredible guy. | |
| His spirit, his love of this country, he's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created, Turning Point USA. | |
| We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country. | |
| That's why we are here. | |
| Brought to you by the Loan Experts I Trust, Andrew and Todd at Sierra Pacific Mortgage at AndrewandTodd.com. | |
| There was a massive story that, quite honestly, we should have covered yesterday, and we're going to lead with it. | |
| It is a story that should be dominating the entire news cycle. | |
| It's a story that, thanks to the Intercept, we have learned some incredibly consequential information about the Department of Homeland Security. | |
| So let's just kind of first set our terms. | |
| What is the Department of Homeland Security? | |
| DHS is a branch of government that was founded after 9-11, I believe completely unnecessarily. | |
| DHS was duplicative in some ways. | |
| TSA is under DHS. | |
| Border Patrol is under DHS, which is another branch of government that at first was sold to us as being able to go after the terrorists, but in reality, DHS is actually here to go after us. | |
| So all of this new information that we have about Department of Homeland Security, again, this should be the number one news story in the country. | |
| Not the Pelosi story, not even the polling story. | |
| This right here should make the midterms even more important than ever before. | |
| So the Intercept, which is a rather effective website, I have to say, they used a mixture of leaked documents and materials obtained through recent lawsuits, found that the Department of Homeland Security is actively engaged in colluding with social media companies to police your speech. | |
| So now that the war on terror is over and has basically gone away, DHS doesn't close shop and fire their employees or go focus on something else. | |
| No, this is the permanent domestic surveillance industrial complex. | |
| You see, DHS has now pivoted to a new self-appointed mission. | |
| Congress never gave them this mission. | |
| We never voted on it. | |
| This is the fourth branch of government just gone awry. | |
| Their self-appointed mission of fighting toxic narratives online, assisted by the FBI. | |
| Now, the two have been holding bi-weekly meetings without any knowledge from Congress or other people, which really makes you wonder what is Congress doing all day long with media outlets since the 2020 election. | |
| That's right. | |
| The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security have been actively holding meetings with media companies, DHS, FBI hosting meetings with media companies. | |
| What are they doing? | |
| These are monthly censorship meetings. | |
| Now, the strategy for these meetings first started with trying to stop anti-vax misinformation. | |
| But now their meetings have now expanded to the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic, racial justice. | |
| That's right. | |
| If you say that America's not systemically racist, the government is probably working with a social media company to shut you up. | |
| The U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan and the nature of U.S. support to Ukraine. | |
| An FBI official described to the Intercept being reassigned this year from the Bureau's International Terrorism Division, where they worked on things like Al-Qaeda and ISIS, to the domestic terrorism division to investigate Americans. | |
| Their job involves penetrating online chat rooms and discussions to disrupt them. | |
| Now, we were always talked about the famous, we talked a lot about the famous disinformation governance board when DHS announced and then quickly shut it down. | |
| But even though the board was shut down, its mission continues through other pernicious avenues. | |
| Immigration, custom enforcement, border patrol, secret service, they now all have their own anti-disinformation components. | |
| The government, using your taxpayer dollars without congressional oversight, without congressional consent, on a daily basis, is no longer focused on ISIS or Al-Qaeda. | |
| No, they're using the terror apparatus that was built post-9-11 to go after you. | |
| MAGA supporters, America First, conservatives, freedom lovers. | |
| This entire apparatus is for shredding the First Amendment, policing speech, and they are inserting and intervening into the distribution of information. | |
| How is this legal? | |
| And the answer is: it really isn't. | |
| Somebody has got to sue under First Amendment claims. | |
| By the way, we covered a couple weeks ago how the Department of Homeland Security was working with third-party firms to shut up our own Twitter account. | |
| So, but according to the Intercept, the censorship work was mainly done by Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, CISA, which is supposedly there to protect critical national infrastructure. | |
| CSIA now has evolved their mission to protecting government-backed narratives. | |
| If you think that America is not systemically racist, if you don't think we should send money to Ukraine, if you all of a sudden think that there's something wrong with the entire narrative of burning down Wendy's and burning down our cities around systemic racism, then we're going to spy on you and we're going to put you in a certain bucket. | |
| Jeffrey Hale, the director of the Election Security Initiative, recommended using third-party nonprofits as clearinghouses for information to avoid the appearance of government propaganda. | |
| This should be the number one news story. | |
| New York Times, nowhere to be found. | |
| Wall Street Journal, nowhere to be found. | |
| And then the woman that works for Twitter, Vijaya Gaddi, who thankfully Elon fired, met monthly with the Department of Homeland Security to discuss collaborative censorship plans. | |
| Quote, in a March meeting, Laura Demlo, a FBI official, warned that the threat of subversive information on social media could undermine support for the U.S. government. | |
| Demlo, according to notes of discussion, attended by senior executives from Twitter and JP Morgan, stressed that, quote, we need a media infrastructure that is held accountable. | |
| Agent Demlo played a direct role in pressuring Facebook to suppress the Hunter Biden story. | |
| And so, the most important question that we need to be asking right now as we are one week out from the midterms is: what stories are they suppressing right now, as things are happening right now? | |
| What stories are they suppressing as votes are being cast? | |
| What stories are they suppressing seven days out from an election? | |
| This is as close to the KGB of anything that we have lived through ever. | |
| It is blatantly illegal, it's anti-First Amendment, and they have found a way for our beautiful Constitution to be shredded by these people. | |
| Now, Facebook has now developed an online portal for requesting material that should be throttled or suppressed or taken down from Facebook or Instagram. | |
| Using the portal requires a government or law enforcement email, and as of yesterday, the portal was still alive. | |
| Let me just kind of put this in layman terms if you might not be tracking what I'm saying. | |
| Essentially, this: the government has a special website that they can log into and they can request to Facebook: Hey, can you censor this story? | |
| It's basically a hotline. | |
| Let me put it this way: it's like 1-800 censorship. | |
| The FBI calls the hotline, they say, We don't like Charlie Kirk's Instagram page, please make sure that it's either taken up, it's censored, or it's not properly distributed. | |
|
The 1-800 Censorship Hotline
00:02:48
|
|
| Now, this is how this all works in tandem. | |
| And I'm going to build a part to the story here that I think people are missing. | |
| There's some context here that is incredibly important. | |
| On one hand, the Federal Trade Commission is going after Facebook, threatening to break them up. | |
| On the other hand, the Department of Justice is going to Facebook asking for favors. | |
| And you better believe that those two things are working in harmony. | |
| Facebook is worried that they're going to be broken up by the FTC. | |
| So, they're trying to win points with the regime where Facebook says, Sure, we'll censor your stuff. | |
| Just do a wink and the nod to the FTC to make sure we don't get breaking up. | |
| Oh, what do you know? | |
| The FTC ruled recently that Facebook doesn't have to get broken up. | |
| All this stuff works together. | |
| If Facebook would have taken a stand against the government, then maybe the FTC would have ruled differently. | |
| Do you see how all this stuff works in collusion together? | |
| It really makes you wonder how much we would control if it wasn't for the censorship. | |
| If they can't shut you up, they lose everything. | |
| Look, do you know if you're getting enough magnesium? | |
| Because four out of five Americans are not. | |
| Look, I started to take magnesium and it was a game changer for me. | |
| And a big problem is because magnesium is involved in over 600 biochemical reactions in your body. | |
| I want to talk to you about the most common signs to look at that you might not have magnesium. | |
| You might have enough magnesium. | |
| Are you irritable or anxious all the time? | |
| Do you struggle with insomnia? | |
| Do you experience muscle cramps or twitches? | |
| Do you have high blood pressure? | |
| Are you sometimes constipated? | |
| There are dozens of symptoms, and magnesium might be able to help you. | |
| Now, there's a lot of people that don't know things about magnesium. | |
| Just taking any magnesium supplement won't solve your problems. | |
| You need one that actually will absorb in your body. | |
| That's why I exclusively recommend magnesium breakthrough. | |
| It's the only full-spectrum magnesium supplement with seven unique forms of magnesium that your body can actually use and absorb. | |
| Here comes the best part: the makers of magnesium breakthrough, bioptimizers, are having a Black Friday special offer from November 21st to the 29th. | |

Weaponized Legal System
00:15:07
|
|
| This DHS story is remarkable. | |
| Somebody said, Charlie, we knew this all along. | |
| No, we really didn't, actually. | |
| We did not know the depth and the complexity and how blatant they are. | |
| So look, here's the big takeaway. | |
| We created a vast national security bureaucracy, and they're always going to try to justify their existence. | |
| So people like Lindsey Graham and Senator Blumenthal and Senator Murphy, that kind of uniparty defender, defense of the national security state, they're always saying, well, you know, terrorists could be around the corner. | |
| The problem is, what happens when you have a supply and demand problem with terrorists? | |
| Well, then you have to go find new terrorists. | |
| If all of a sudden America doesn't have as many terrorists as you think we do, and ISIS and Al-Qaeda are not as strong as they used to be, well, then you got to go find new terrorists. | |
| And those terrorists just happen to be right-wingers. | |
| So terrorism has faded in the traditional sense. | |
| And thanks to left-wing politics, we aren't allowed to care about our border. | |
| So they've turned on the easiest target imaginable. | |
| DHS, by the way, should be focused on the invasion of our country, 2 million people coming into America, not worried about whether or not someone is challenging that we send aid to Ukraine or wondering, hey, are we really systemically racist? | |
| Policing free speech, monitoring speech, spying on the public, and targeting internal American dissidents is the new focus of this regime. | |
| So the only fix to this is admitting and acknowledging we made a mistake when we passed the Patriot Act. | |
| We made a mistake when we put the DHS into power. | |
| We need to tear down these organizations quickly because we never needed them in the first place. | |
| Defund or abolish these internal espionage organizations and pass laws making it a criminal offense to spy on Americans without a warrant. | |
| And it's even worse than spying, dare I say. | |
| This is throttling and restricting and suffocating and suppressing and repressing the distribution of information. | |
| And by the way, this is why we're so clear about the left being the party of domestic violent extremists. | |
| They use the lie of people on the right being domestic violent extremists, white men, parents at school board meetings, pro-life advocates, as a reason to justify the government coming after political dissidents. | |
| We've said this before, and Tucker Carlson has said the same thing. | |
| These people in power know they cannot continue to exist without censorship. | |
| A fair and free marketplace of ideas is a direct threat to everything that they do. | |
| Facebook has a special login, a hotline, you could say. | |
| They have backdoor, FBI has backdoor access to Facebook. | |
| Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, which is supposed to protect critical national infrastructure, has now evolved its mission. | |
| Without congressional permission, without congressional consent, they just self-appointed this. | |
| No one gave them the authority to do this. | |
| So now Facebook has this back-end access that only the government is able to use. | |
| Basically, it's a form. | |
| Who would you like us to censor? | |
| And only people with government email addresses are able to access that. | |
| So if some FBI agent doesn't like the Charlie Kirk show, doesn't like tweets from Tucker Carlson, doesn't like posts from Steve Bannon, that FBI agent can now log in and say, we want this censored. | |
| And what's the criteria? | |
| If you criticize racial justice, I do, think that there's a problem with the vaccine, we've been vocal about that. | |
| Challenge A to Ukraine, your government now has the ability to log into the back end of a social media portal to shut you up. | |
| How is this even remotely constitutional? | |
| It's not. | |
| That's a real picture of the Facebook portal. | |
| And remember, Zuckerberg admitted this in his interview with Joe Rogan, but now this is even worse. | |
| This is not just the FBI showing up to Facebook and asking. | |
| This is the FBI getting back end access to the largest social media company on the planet. | |
| It's streamlining censorship, made easy for you. | |
| How is this not the scathing story of the day? | |
| Hey, Charlie Kirk here. | |
| When it comes to liberals in Congress, there's no way they would accept term limits on themselves. | |
| And yet now they're fighting tooth and nail to impose term limits on Supreme Court justices. | |
| Term limits for thee, but not for me. | |
| Sounds completely hypocritical. | |
| Of course it is. | |
| But since when has that ever been a problem for the American left? | |
| They do whatever they want to try to seize more power, even if it means purging the Supreme Court of its most experienced justices. | |
| To no one's surprise, their new court purging scheme would remove long-serving, amazing justices like the super brilliant Clarence Thomas and the courageous Samuel Alito. | |
| They would then replace these new justices with a rubber stamp and their radical agenda. | |
| Since Democrats are working hard to pass court purging with term limits, we need to work even harder to stop it, or the Supreme Court, as we know it, will never be the same. | |
| If you care about the integrity of the Supreme Court and don't want to see it taken over by political hacks, go to supremecoup.com. | |
| That is supreme COUP.com. | |
| With us right now is one of the few good senators in the U.S. Senate, and he's fighting for liberty and freedom in America every single day. | |
| It's Senator Ted Cruz. | |
| Senator, welcome back to the program. | |
| I know that you have a new book. | |
| I want to make sure we mention that and we get to that. | |
| It is Justice Corrupted: How the Left Weaponized Our Legal System, which actually somewhat ties together tangentially with one of the stories I want to talk about. | |
| But make sure you check out a copy of Senator Ted Cruz's new book, Justice Corrupted. | |
| Senator, yesterday it was revealed that the Department of Homeland Security has back-end access to Facebook, a portal to be able to request Facebook to censor stories they don't like around racial justice and other issues. | |
| Senator, what is your reaction? | |
| Well, I wish I could say I was shocked, but I'm not shocked. | |
| We have seen this more and more with the federal government corruptly getting into bed with big tech. | |
| We now know also that the FBI was actively urging big tech to censor the story about Hunter Biden's laptop. | |
| And they were doing it. | |
| The FBI told big tech that that was Russian disinformation. | |
| That was totally false. | |
| We now know the story about Hunter Biden's laptop was true. | |
| It was accurate. | |
| And big tech censored it, forced the corporate media to censor it. | |
| And it was actively at the behest of the FBI. | |
| And that's really what the book is all about. | |
| It is about how Barack Obama and now Joe Biden have politicized and weaponized the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI and the IRS, and they've turned them into weapons to target their political enemies. | |
| And it is a profound threat, not just to the rule of law, but to individual liberty of all of us. | |
| And what is so interesting, Senator, about this DHS story is in the leaked documents, they kind of self-appointed themselves a role. | |
| And I mean, you are one of the more articulate, the most articulate person, I should say, on the idea of separation of powers, but also congressional oversight. | |
| And these bureaucracies, the fourth branch of government, they kind of do whatever they want. | |
| So, Senator, I mean, you're on a lot of these committees. | |
| You vote on a lot of these bills. | |
| Since when did these agencies get permission or inform you that they were going to be involved directly in election meddling of information? | |
| I mean, do they just get to chart their own path now? | |
| This is outrageous. | |
| Well, they haven't, and they largely defy Congress. | |
| And if you look at the history of it, if you go back, the book Justice Corrupted starts with Richard Nixon. | |
| And Nixon tried to do this. | |
| He tried to use DOJ and the IRS, the FBI to go after his political enemies. | |
| By and large, the system worked. | |
| By and large, the system resisted being politicized, and Nixon resigned in disgrace. | |
| Well, what Nixon tried to do, Obama succeeded in doing. | |
| And he directed the IRS to target Tea Party groups, to target conservative groups and pro-life groups and pro-Israel groups. | |
| They went after them. | |
| They persecuted them. | |
| Then DOJ blocked investigations into them, defied Congress, refused to prosecute contempt of Congress. | |
| And after eight years of deep politicization of the federal agencies, what happened is these hardcore partisans burrowed into senior career positions at the agencies. | |
| And when Trump became president, the deep state waged war on Trump. | |
| One of the things I talk about in the book Justice Corrupted is the meeting in the Oval Office on January 5th, 2017 with Barack Obama, Joe Biden, the head of the FBI, the CIA, and the DOJ. | |
| This is 15 days before Trump would be sworn in as president. | |
| And in the Oval Office, they agreed together to go after Trump, to attack him. | |
| And for four years of the Trump presidency, these partisans tried to destroy Donald Trump personally and tried to destroy the Trump agenda. | |
| And now, Charlie, under Joe Biden, it is metastasized. | |
| It is out in the open. | |
| They're not hiding it anymore. | |
| They view the machinery of government as the stormtroopers for the DNC and their partisan agenda. | |
| That is so well said. | |
| The book is Justice Corrupted. | |
| I want to encourage our entire audience to pick up a copy of that. | |
| Senator, one of the chapters you talk about here is about the IRS coming knocking. | |
| You know, there's a lot of vulnerable Democrat senators right now, including Raphael Warnock and Mark Kelly, who run to the Hills every time you mention they voted for 87,000 new IRS agents. | |
| With now how we see DHS operate with back-end access to Facebook, I mean, is it inconceivable that the IRS might one day be able to get back-end access to TurboTax or to other information, warrantless ability and information? | |
| That might sound outrageous or outlandish, but I don't trust this government at all. | |
| Talk about the expansion of the IRS and how you articulate that in your book, Justice Corrupted. | |
| Well, as you noted, the Democrats just rammed through a bill authorizing 87,000 new IRS agents, special agents who can carry guns, who can come knock down your door, and that is designed to target and harass and go after you. | |
| And, you know, when you talk about the IRS wanting visibility into your financial transactions, remember Bernie Sanders' Build Back Better plan that Joe Biden put as his number one priority. | |
| Part of that was requiring financial institutions to report every transaction of $600 or more to the Department of the Treasury. | |
| Every single one. | |
| That means your rent, unless you've got a really good deal on rent, you're probably paying more than $600 a month for rent. | |
| If that's the case, every single financial transaction, maybe your car note, heck, give the Democrats another year or two. | |
| It might be filling up a tank of gas. | |
| I mean, they wanted that power. | |
| They came very close to getting it. | |
| I believe when we take the majorities, and I think we're going to take both the House and the Senate a week from today, when we do that, I think one of the very first priorities needs to be defunding those 87,000 new IRS agents. | |
| I think right after that, we need to impeach Alejandro Mayorkas, the Secretary of Homeland Security. | |
| Yes. | |
| And right after that, we need to impeach Merrick Garland for politicizing and abusing the Department of Justice and the FBI. | |
| Yeah, I think that's so smart. | |
| And we've said on the program, I don't think endorsing Joe Biden, I don't think that's a good use of time. | |
| Honestly, I think it's fine with political theater, but going after the deep state, that middle band is so important, right? | |
| I mean, they could replace Joe Biden with anybody, but Mayorkas and Garland, you have to show the world that there is a check and balance on the deep state and in that bureaucracy. | |
| So in your book, Justice Corrupted, Senator, you also talk about January 6th. | |
| I have not read this chapter, but it's a topic in your book. | |
| What is the argument you make around that? | |
| Well, this is the first inside account of January 6th that has been published from someone who was actively and deeply involved. | |
| On January 6th, I was standing on the floor of the Senate, leading the senators in objecting to certifying the election, calling for the appointment of an election commission. | |
| I walked the readers behind what occurred that day and in the months that preceded it. | |
| I walked the readers through the cases challenging raising allegations of voter fraud and what happened to those cases. | |
| I walked the readers through President Trump calling me and asking me to personally argue the case in the U.S. Supreme Court if the court had taken the case. | |
| And it's designed to take people behind closed doors, behind the curtains, and understand what was really going on. | |
| And more broadly, that's really what this book is trying to do: for your listeners, look, all of us are engaged in conversations every day with friends, with colleagues, with family members about what's going on. | |
| And it's hard to know the truth when the corporate media is so corrupt and so dishonest. | |
| This book is designed to equip you, to give you the facts, to give you the information, so that when someone says, oh, there is no voter fraud, so when someone says, all these cases were thrown out of court, when someone says, well, it was an insurrection to overthrow the government, that you have the facts to respond on substance, with detail, when you have, as Democrats and the media are doing today, when they say, well, Republicans have angry, violent rhetoric. | |
| There's an entire chapter on the Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots across the country, on Kamala Harris bailing violent rioters out of jail, on the Democrat efforts to abolish and defunding the police, on George Soros DAs letting violent criminals go. | |
| And having the facts equips you to then win the argument and persuade your friends and family. | |
|
Democrats Embrace Racial Discrimination
00:02:22
|
|
| So yesterday, Senator, there were oral arguments around affirmative action. | |
| Wall Street Journal front page high court hears arguments on race, college admissions. | |
| You actually talk about this in your book extensively through both Critical Race Theory in Chapter 4 and Chapter 8, Affirmative Action. | |
| How should we think about affirmative action? | |
| And also with your legal expertise, just kind of fill our audience in what was exactly being debated in front of the court yesterday. | |
| So I am cautiously optimistic about the oral arguments in front of the court. | |
| I have not listened to the arguments yet, but I intend to do so. | |
| But I'm cautiously optimistic. | |
| There were two cases challenging explicit racial discrimination by colleges and universities. | |
| One was challenging the racial discrimination of a state school, University of North Carolina. | |
| Another was challenging the racial discrimination of a private school, Harvard University. | |
| Both of them actively discriminate based on race. | |
| And one of the amazing things about Democrats, and the book, Justice Corrupted, walks you through the Democrats' sorry and sordid history on race. | |
| Look, it is the Democrat Party that founded the Ku Klux Klan. | |
| Nathan Bedford Forrest that founded the Klan was a delegate to the 1860 National Democrat Convention. | |
| It was Democrats who wrote the Jim Crow laws. | |
| The Jim Crow laws were designed to disenfranchise black voters to prevent them from voting Democrats out of office. | |
| It is Democrats today who actively embrace racial discrimination. | |
| You know, the Trump Department of Justice opened up an investigation into Yale Law School because they discriminate based on race. | |
| And in particular, they discriminate viciously against Asian Americans. | |
| They have essentially a reverse quota that if they did admissions based on merit, they've determined, quote, too many Asians would get in. | |
| And so that they discriminate against Asians. | |
| One of the first things Joe Biden did when he became president is DOJ dismissed that case and said, we're good with it. | |
| And actually at the oral arguments, the Biden Justice Department argued in favor of discriminating against Asian Americans and discriminating against white students because today's Democrat Party is a party built on racial discrimination. | |
| That's at the heart of critical race theory. | |
| It's at the heart of what Democrats believe today. | |
|
Building A Libertarian Coalition
00:07:46
|
|
| That is well said. | |
| Rents are soaring at unprecedented highs. | |
| If you're renting or have a friend or family member that is, now is a great time to make the move to homeownership. | |
| Look, you got to own renting, that's great reset stuff. | |
| Andrew Del Rey and Todd Avakian at Sierra Pacific Mortgage have helped so many people make that leap from renting to owning with lots of programs that offer first-time buyers assistance with little to no down payment needed. | |
| I encourage you right now to visit my buddies, their website. | |
| They're great guys. | |
| They're Christians. | |
| They're conservatives. | |
| They love the Lord. | |
| AndrewNTodd.com right now. | |
| The thing I love about these guys is it's not about the transaction. | |
| They're helping you create a plan to help you reach your goals. | |
| Give them a call or go to their website, AndrewandTodd.com. | |
| With today's still historically low interest rates, it's easier than you think to become a homeowner. | |
| I've relied on them and producer Andrew has as well. | |
| I highly recommend you take action now. | |
| And if you knew someone paying rent, tell them about Andrew and Todd. | |
| Go to andrewandtodd.com and tell them the Charlie Kirk Show sent you. | |
| Senator, the great state of Texas, Robert Francis O'Rourke. | |
| The question really is, how much is he going to lose by right now? | |
| Nine points. | |
| Nine points. | |
| Okay, over under nine points. | |
| And so talk about the race in Texas, though. | |
| Do you think that there might be a chance that the out-of-state liberals are going to get a little demoralized because the more they spend in Texas, actually, the margins are increasing? | |
| Well, that's true. | |
| And look, there's a mix of people coming to Texas. | |
| There are some people there in California, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and they're fed up. | |
| They can't stand the liberals. | |
| They can't stand the left-wing policies. | |
| And they decide they want to get out. | |
| And they look across the country. | |
| They decide where do they want to go and they pick Texas. | |
| And the data show those folks actually are more conservative than the median voter in Texas. | |
| They show up, they buy a pickup truck and boots and a hat and a gun, and they're fantastic. | |
| And I call those folks refugees for freedom. | |
| We want them here in Texas. | |
| Amen. | |
| There is another group that worries me, and it's a company that transfers to Texas and moves all of its employees. | |
| And those employees often, they haven't made the choice, and many of them still vote like where they came from. | |
| We've got both. | |
| Senator, you've been traveling a lot for the midterms. | |
| What are the races that you're especially looking at in the last week here, not just to win Republican seats, but to win constitutional conservatives? | |
| I know you and I are both very invested in making sure Senator Mike Lee beats Evan McMuffin McMullen. | |
| What are the other races you're looking at? | |
| Well, I think Mike Lee's race is critically important. | |
| I would encourage folks listening, go to Mike Lee's website and make a contribution because the Democrats are trying to really steal that race by deceiving the voters of Utah. | |
| And it is uncomfortably close. | |
| I will say more broadly, though, I am incredibly optimistic about Election Day. | |
| I think we're going to see a red tsunami. | |
| I think we're going to retake both houses. | |
| I think we could come out of the House with 30, 40, even 50 seat majority. | |
| And I think in the Senate, my number, I think we're going to come out either with 53 or 54 Republicans in the Senate. | |
| And so, Charlie, I've spent the last month on a 17-state national bus tour doing events. | |
| I'm not on the ballot this time around, so I'm spending all my time trying to help others, trying to help elect candidates for Senate, candidates for the House. | |
| So we started in Texas, did four rallies in Texas. | |
| One of the things I'm really excited about is the Rio Grande Valley. | |
| I think we're going to elect three Republicans, all Latinas, all Hispanic women in the Rio Grande Valley. | |
| That is a big deal and a generational change. | |
| From South Texas, we went to New Mexico, then to Arizona, then to Nevada, then to Utah, then to Kansas, then to Missouri, then to Maryland, then to Ohio, then to Iowa, then to Virginia, then to Tennessee, then to North Carolina, then to Georgia, then to Florida, then back to Texas. | |
| I'm heading to Oklahoma today. | |
| I'm heading to Michigan tomorrow, and then back to Texas for the final event of the bus tour. | |
| And I think we've got a chance to win all across the country. | |
| I could not be more excited. | |
| And I think the reason is the agenda of the radical left is such a disaster. | |
| People are ready to change the path world. | |
| I think you're right. | |
| And I think we're going to shock the world in certain states, including here in Arizona. | |
| I think Blake Masters is going to pull it out. | |
| And by the way, Arizona libertarian candidate drops out of race and endorses Blake Masters. | |
| Senator, you've been very clear for years that we need a coalition of libertarians, conservatives, and traditional Republicans. | |
| I'm not a libertarian on a lot of issues, but I agree with them on size and scope of government and overreach of the national security apparatus and gun laws. | |
| Can you talk about that as we close out our conversation here, Senator, about how that coalition is going to need to materialize for victory a week from today? | |
| Listen, I agree with you that we need a broad coalition. | |
| When it comes to libertarians, I'm not a full-on libertarian. | |
| I'm a conservative, but I'm a conservative for libertarian reasons. | |
| And I think if you look at my voting record, I'm one of the three most libertarian senators in the Senate. | |
| Myself, Rand Paul, and Mike Lee are pretty clearly the three most libertarian senators. | |
| I believe, number one, in individual liberty. | |
| I believe in small government. | |
| I believe in small businesses. | |
| I believe in low taxes. | |
| I believe in low regulations. | |
| I believe in government staying the hell out of our lives. | |
| That means vigorously protecting free speech. | |
| That means stopping censorship of free speech. | |
| That means protecting the Second Amendment vigorously. | |
| That means protecting against unreasonable searches and seizures. | |
| You know, all the liberals cheering the FBI raiding Donald Trump's home. | |
| That was an abuse of power. | |
| It's what I talk about in the book, Justice Corrupted, is the left uses power to target their enemies. | |
| I believe in civil liberties. | |
| I believe in protecting our rights. | |
| Government is bad. | |
| Why do they want 87,000 new IRS agents to harass and harangue and target and go after you? | |
| The left supports government power. | |
| And my view is we ought to have a coalition of everyone who values liberty standing together. | |
| By the way, I agree with you in Arizona. | |
| I think Kerry Lake is going to win. | |
| I think Blake Masters is going to win. | |
| I did rallies with both Kerry and Blake and also with Eli Crane, who's going to get elected to Congress and who's going to be a great new congressman as well, Navy SEAL, strong lover of liberty. | |
| I think we need to be supporting people who know what they believe, number one, people who can win, number two, but people who will be warriors. | |
| Because I'll tell you, Charlie, once we win the majority, that's when the fight really starts. | |
| Because you and I both know there are going to be members of Republican leadership who are scared to fight. | |
| And if we want the majorities to fight, we need to elect warriors who aren't scared of their own shadows. | |
| That's right. | |
| Justice Corrupted, How the Left Weaponized Our Legal System by Senator Ted Cruz. | |
| Senator, thank you for all the hard work. | |
| You don't have to be working as hard as you have been on the campaign trail this cycle. | |
| It is noticed and it will make a difference. | |
| Senator, hope to see you soon. | |
| And thank you for always speaking at our turning point events. | |
| That does really mean a lot to us. | |
| You always step up for us. | |
| So thank you, Senator, for your time today. | |
| Well, you guys do an amazing job, and I appreciate you, Charlie. | |
| And keep working to turn everyone out on Election Day. | |
| Amen. | |
