New Era of Conservative Politics
00:14:35
|
|
| Hey, everybody, welcome to this episode of the Charlie Kirk Show. | |
| It's producer Andrew Colvett filling in for Charlie as he stumps all across the state of Ohio alongside senatorial candidate JD Vance, friend of the show, friend of America. | |
| Get out and vote for him if you're listening in Ohio. | |
| I am honored, as always, to be in the seat. | |
| But guess what? | |
| We have a little bit of Charlie in this hour, and that's just fantastic. | |
| He calls in this hour seated alongside JD Vance and Senator Hawley. | |
| They're touring around the state of Ohio, and we get an inside look. | |
| Charlie calls in. | |
| Then we cover the correspondence dinner, which was a total joke as they laugh as the country burns. | |
| Biden thinks it's hilarious. | |
| You're not going to want to miss it. | |
| We play the tapes and we explain why it is very, very insightful. | |
| We also explain just how bad things are going for President Biden. | |
| Guys, this is an important episode. | |
| Please, again, vote in Ohio. | |
| It's an honor. | |
| Buckle up. | |
| Here we go. | |
| Charlie, what you've done is incredible here. | |
| Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campus. | |
| I want you to know we are lucky to have Charlie Kirk. | |
| Charlie Kirk's running the White House, folks. | |
| I want to thank Charlie. | |
| He's an incredible guy. | |
| His spirit, his love of this country, he's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created, Turning Point USA. | |
| We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country. | |
| That's why we are here. | |
| Brought to you by Andrew and Todd at Sierra Pacific Mortgage. | |

| Hey, everybody, welcome to the Charlie Kirk Show. | |
| This is producer Andrew Colvett filling in for the one and only Charlie Kirk. | |
| But I have a great surprise for you. | |
| Even though he can't make the entire show today, we do have him on the line. | |
| He is crisscrossing the state of Ohio right now with JD Vance. | |
| So without further ado, we've got a lot of show to cover, but I wanted to bring Charlie Kirk himself in right here at the top of the hour. | |
| Charlie, welcome to your own show. | |
| I'm honored to be a guest on my own show. | |
| And thank you, Andrew, for filling in. | |
| Now, I wanted to call in just for a couple minutes here. | |
| I'm actually on the road. | |
| We're about to be in Dublin, Ohio. | |
| I'm here with JD Vance and Senator Josh Hawley. | |
| It's the last sprint before what is actually turning out to be one of the most expensive primary races in our country's history. | |
| JD is the frontrunner here. | |
| He got President Trump's endorsement. | |
| And it's been really interesting, you know, barnstorming the state, kind of learning where the Republican Party is. | |
| And this really is kind of a test of what kind of Republican Party do we want. | |
| Do we want a kind of the same old kind of Bush and chainy Republican Party, or do we want to go in a direction of a party that will defend our manufacturing and put tariffs on China and restrict immigration? | |
| And the people of Ohio are resonating with that message. | |
| And so, you know, it's been a long slog. | |
| It's been a pretty, you know, we could say contested primary, but JD is really pulling away. | |
| And just for all of our Ohio listeners here, you know, I'm completely and totally enthusiastic, enthusiastically behind JD, and we need people to show up in big numbers tomorrow. | |
| But, you know, it's been a really interesting thing just to see the amount of, you know, the amount of backlash that, you know, is being thrown at JD and how well he's weathering it. | |
| I'll tell you, though, you know, Josh Hawley, Senator Hawley's been saying that there's a lot of people on edge. | |
| There's a lot of nervous people in DC right now since JD has taken the lead. | |
| And that should tell you everything you need to know about this race. | |
| Yeah, I mean, I think you're absolutely right. | |
| JD represents what we might refer to, Charlie, as the new right. | |
| He is young. | |
| He's 37. | |
| He's got a background in tech, which has become actually a part of, you know, a part of the storyline here. | |
| some of the reporters I've seen from the videos you've been sending to the team. | |
| They're asking about his tech background, which I actually think is a massive plus. | |
| But he is this new right, this new kind of candidate. | |
| You say that you're hearing from the people on the ground their reaction to a candidate like JD. | |
| And you're right, he's pulling ahead, which is phenomenal because of people like you, people like Senator Hawley, and of course, President Trump's endorsement. | |
| But what is the reaction? | |
| What are you hearing on the ground? | |
| What are you learning being on the ground in Ohio? | |
| Yeah, I mean, look, people are really upset about the direction of the country. | |
| They're worried about inflation. | |
| They're worried about open borders. | |
| They're worried about tech oligarchy. | |
| But, you know, you got to really give it to Ohio voters. | |
| They're starting to see through the nonsense and they're realizing that there's only one candidate that's actually going to do something about this, right? | |
| And here's the most important thing is that Republican primary voters have had this kind of angst and unease for many different cycles. | |
| But it seems as if, you know, Republican establishments are really, they're really talented at kind of camouflaging themselves when it matters. | |
| And then they go to D.C. and they just kind of become part of this kind of corporate oligarchy, you could call it. | |
| And so Republican primary voters, got to get the rhinos out of our party. | |
| They're enthusiastically applauding. | |
| They know that. | |
| They just, they, and thanks to President Trump's endorsement of JD, it's no mystery who the true conservative in this race is. | |
| And look, you look at what's happening, you know, nationwide, you know, for our national audience. | |
| A lot of people right now understand that the regime, as we call it on our program quite often, is of both parties. | |
| And you look at the issues that they get most animated about. | |
| It's not even, you know, the transgender issue, kind of they, they get a little upset about here and there, the pro-life thing. | |
| But if you really want to see the Washington regime all of a sudden go into kind of a frenetic tailspin, start talking about having a prudent foreign policy, restricting immigration, and maybe putting some tariffs on China. | |
| That more than anything else just gets them over the edge. | |
| And those three issues in particular are the ones that actually the Republican base are demanding the most. | |
| I talk about the muscular class, as you know, Andrew, a lot on our program here. | |
| And that really is Ohio. | |
| Ohio is the muscular class. | |
| Ohio, our people are that shower before work and shower after work. | |
| They make things at their hands. | |
| It's not the managerial consultant class that has destroyed so many different aspects of our country. | |
| And so that's really what kind of is on the referendum here. | |
| Not to mention that JD is incredibly pro-life and against all the kind of transgender nonsense that we're seeing of the pushing of puberty blockers and all that garbage in our country. | |
| So that's really something I think that's important. | |
| That's why I'm here. | |
| Look, as you know, Andrew, I got a lot of stuff going on. | |
| I'm crisscrossing the country speaking somewhere every day. | |
| You know, don't get enough time in Arizona as much as I would like, but I'm here for a reason because I think that if we're able to get JD Vance across the finish line, that's going to send a message to the Washington elite. | |
| But all of a sudden, it's not just Josh Hawley or, you know, it's not just Rand Paul on Fauci, but all of a sudden, there's going to be a team. | |
| There's going to be a team of people in the Senate that are going to be able to stand up against the establishment and both parties. | |
| And I mean, just take one issue that I think, you know, has kind of just been swept under the rug. | |
| How about the abuse of the federal agencies, right? | |
| The CIA, the FBI, calling moms and dads that show up to the school board meetings, domestic terrorists, right? | |
| We need senators that are actually going to go and cross-examine these people and hold them accountable. | |
| Unfortunately, the Republican Party seems to be kind of holding their water, not holding them accountable. | |
| And that's why I'm behind JD Vance. | |
| Yeah, I mean, I completely agree. | |
| This would be a shot across the bow. | |
| This would be the shot heard around Washington and really around the world that there is a new era of conservative politics coming to Washington with fighters like JD Vance leading the charge, obviously with Senator Hawley and others, which is a far, it's a short list, Charlie, but this would be a massive, massive blow to the establishment. | |
| Charlie, I want to give you one more opportunity just for our Ohio listeners specifically. | |
| I know there has been a lot made of some of the comments that JD made, let's say, circa 2015, 2016, about President Trump. | |
| This is still being used against him. | |
| It's being weaponized. | |
| Let's put this to bed once and for all. | |
| Why are these comments being taken and weaponized? | |
| Well, and this is for our national audience, too, which is, you know, they're going to try to these anti-Trump groups are going to try to all of a sudden be the referee of who's pro-Trump or not. | |
| Like, I hate to, you know, pull the quote-unquote Trump card, but I have a lot more credibility than these anti-Trump groups to be able to tell you who's actually consistent with the Trump agenda. | |
| And look, JD is very open about it on the campaign trail. | |
| In fact, he leads with it. | |
| That, you know, he said some negative things about Trump in 2016, but he's the first one to admit that he became Trump's biggest cheerleader. | |
| And isn't that a story or a journey of strengthening and growth? | |
| That's something that we should really appreciate and applaud when all of a sudden people are like, you know, I thought I didn't know that the New York billionaire was going to be the most pro-life president in history. | |
| And so that's something I hope people really understand. | |
| Unlike some of the other candidates in the race who kind of just continually camouflage and backstab and say one thing, you know, behind the back, I know JD very, I know, I know him personally. | |
| I've got to know him. | |
| I could tell you in public and private, whatever you name, whoever you want to say, he's 100% behind Donald Trump and his agenda. | |
| And the media is trying to make something out of it where it really doesn't exist. | |
| And that's exactly why President Trump endorsed him. | |
| So, but that's, and that's just something as we close here, because I know the time breaks on this show very well. | |
| Um, is that nationwide, you got to be very careful about people who call themselves America first when in reality, they're not. | |
| IO, everyone has eyes on Ohio tomorrow. | |
| Keep your eyes on it. | |
| It's going to be, I think, a harbinger, a canary in the coal mine for this entire agenda for months and hopefully for years to come. | |
| Yeah, you know, I think you're right, Charlie. | |
| And I'm excited that it's voices like you that have gotten behind JD to really set the record straight. | |
| And, you know, this will be a massive, massive blow to the establishment. | |
| Like we said, I think JD is going to take it. | |
| He's ahead in the polls. | |
| He's surging right now. | |
| All the other candidates look like they're losing ground. | |
| So, Charlie, get back out there on the campaign trail. | |
| I know you guys are busy today. | |
| You're going to be back in the saddle tomorrow, but thank you for making time for your audience, this audience, while you guys are so busy on the road. | |
| We appreciate it. | |
| Thank you, Andrew. | |
| See you later. | |
| And hopefully, we'll be celebrating Senator JD Vance sometime soon. | |
| Thanks, Andrew. | |
| See you tomorrow. | |
| All right. | |
| For a couple of years now, people have been setting up a contest between crypto and gold, but that's like comparing a truck with an SUV. | |
| Both carry stuff and travel from A to B, but they do different jobs. | |
| Gold's job is to keep the value of your money safe and preserve its value. | |
| And since Ukraine, the oil, and the inflation crisis has done a brilliant job compared to stocks and other investments. | |
| So if you're worried about what's going on right now, who isn't? | |
| Just talk to an expert at Noble Gold about precious metal IRAs for your retirement. | |

| So I want to, I believe we actually have this ad, you know, and we'll leave it here. | |
| Let's go ahead and play clip 10. | |
| This is a campaign ad that was actually shared on Twitter by Don Jr. first, which is where I saw it, attacking probably JD Vance's closest competitor, Mandel. | |
| The elites were right about Donald Trump, right? | |
| I'm a never-Trump guy. | |
| Has Trump seen this? | |
| President Trump tweeting a surprise endorsement of Mitt Romney for his run. | |
| How'd that turn out? | |
| Look, I love Trump, but he's getting it wrong with JD Vance, too. | |
| I might have to vote for Hillary Clinton. | |
| People who voted for Trump voted for him for racist reasons. | |
| Where does he get off saying that? | |
| We've got our own eyes and our own ears. | |
| JD Vance is a fraud. | |
| Club for Growth Action is responsible for the content of this. | |
| All right. | |
| So that was actually the other way around. | |
| That was the Club for Growth ad attacking JD Vance. | |
| Thankfully, this has been put to bed. | |
| All right. | |
| So this was the JD Vance says bad things about Trump in 2015, 2016. | |
| Therefore, he is a fraud. | |
| This is not true. | |
| This is a common journey that many conservatives went on in the past year, I think, and past four years. | |
| I think we can all agree that Trump was a lot for many conservatives to take in at first, especially Christian Wright, the evangelical community. | |
| Trump was a lot. | |
| Now, you'll hear this argument made all the time that Trump is a tough person for conservatives, especially social conservatives, to adjust to, right? | |
| Three times divorced, a record of cheating on his wife. | |
| All of this has been deliberated. | |
| It's been argued ad nauseum. | |
| There's nothing more to really add to this debate. | |
| Now, do you want somebody that's going to, in the highest office in your land, do you want somebody that's going to defend your values, is going to put forward policies that reflect your Christian values, that reflect your conservative values, and is an imperfect vessel for those ideas? | |
| Or do you want somebody that's going to go to Washington and completely collapse, is going to completely fold over underneath the weight of all of that pressure? | |
| Now, because everybody has a lot of pressure. | |
| So what you actually need is somebody that's willing to fight on your behalf. | |
| When you go to Washington, one of the biggest, one of the biggest pushbacks, one of the biggest letdowns of conservatives over the last 15, 20 years is that they go to Washington and they completely fold. | |
| Trump was the first that fought. | |
| And as he put together a resume in Washington, it became very clear to people like JD Vance, people like many of you listening in the audience today, that Donald Trump was going to fight for them. | |
| And as a matter of fact, he might have been the first one in a generation to do so. | |
| And that took courage, that took boldness, and it converted many along the way. | |
| So, once again, everybody support JD Vance. | |
| I think we actually have that clip now, if I'm not mistaken. | |
| Maybe we don't have it in yet. | |
|
Taking on the Establishment
00:12:52
|
|
| I'm not sure. | |
| But we'll get over it. | |
| But basically, here's the deal. | |
| This was an attack ad shared by Don Jr., and it basically shows Josh Mandel endorsing Mitt Romney, time and time again standing with McCain. | |
| This is, in my opinion, this is damning. | |
| Because what's really on the ballot in the state of Ohio is establishment. | |
| It is betrayal versus the new right, the fighting right, the right that's going to defend the values of the middle class, the working class, patriotic Americans that have been for too long ignored and cast aside once they get to Washington, once their representatives get to Washington. | |
| So I want you to listen to this or watch this if you're checking it out on the stream and really pay attention. | |
| I think this is exactly what we're trying to avoid in the future of the conservative movement. | |
| Go ahead and play CUP 14. | |
| And one of the things that's setting me apart right now is how strongly anti-establishment I am. | |
| Taking on the squishy establishment Republicans, Mitt Romney and others. | |
| I appreciate what Governor Romney stands for. | |
| By the way, I need Josh Mandel in the Senate to make that happen. | |
| Very much for Josh Mandel for the United States Senate. | |
| I think that Josh is the kind of leadership, the next generation of leadership that we need very badly. | |
| How strongly anti-establishment I am. | |
| A gentleman who is an outstanding United States Senator for the state of Ohio and is the new Attorney General, Mike DeWine. | |
| You know, Josh is much better than I am, so I would not say his message is that he is a centrist. | |
| But if President Obama is re-elected, I will work with him. | |
| I'm excited that he's running for the U.S. Senate. | |
| And one of the things that's setting me apart right now is how strongly anti-establishment I am. | |
| Yeah, so I think that video pretty much sums it up. | |
| DeWine, Mitt Romney, McCain. | |
| It was, it's the guy has a track record of basically saying whatever he needs to say to appease whoever he's in front of. | |
| But we've said enough. | |
| Ohio, you know what to do. | |
| Let's move on to the correspondence dinner. | |
| So this is essentially DC's Hollywood night. | |
| This is their chance to put on the Ritzy dresses. | |
| This is their chance to put on their tuxedos, go have a nice night, drink way too much alcohol, laugh at each other, even as the country's burning. | |
| It's actually really disgusting when you really think about it. | |
| I was speaking with a couple reporter friends of mine during the weekend saying, are you at the dinner? | |
| A couple of them were, a couple of them weren't. | |
| The ones that weren't tend to be more of my kind of people, my kind of reporters. | |
| And they said, listen, we can't afford the tables at this event. | |
| The price tag is astronomical. | |
| So what they do is they have it, I think at the Washington Hilton, they charge an arm and a leg. | |
| Everybody shows up. | |
| And it was the first time in six years where the President of the United States actually showed up. | |
| As you might remember, President Trump basically boycotted the event because he was treated as a pariah by the mainstream news media and the legacy media. | |
| And finally, Joe Biden came back. | |
| And he didn't avoid all the roasting, I will say. | |
| So the comedian was Trevor Noah. | |
| He had some good lines. | |
| He had some awkward lines. | |
| He had some lines that are going to make you cringe. | |
| I sent it around to a bunch of friends. | |
| We were talking back and forth. | |
| The basic gist of it is this. | |
| I don't want to like it. | |
| I don't want to find this funny. | |
| But there were some good lines. | |
| So, in interest of sharing some of the best stuff, let's play some. | |
| Let's play cut five. | |
| This is Biden laughing at his own failures. | |
| Cut five. | |
| I think ever since you've come into office, things are really looking up. | |
| You know, gas is up, rent is up, food is up. | |
| Everything. | |
| No, it really has been a tough first year for you, Mr. President. | |
| It's really been a tough first year for you, Mr. President. | |
| And meanwhile, if you were watching on the stream, you got to see Biden just laughing at himself. | |
| It's hilarious. | |
| Oh, food prices are up. | |
| This is so funny. | |
| Let's play cut six. | |
| Trevor Noah jokes about getting COVID for the 20th time. | |
| Glad you could make it tonight. | |
| Really glad you could make it tonight, Jen. | |
| It's nice that you're willing to come over here and risk getting COVID for like, what, the 10th time now? | |
| Let me ask, how do you keep getting COVID, Jen? | |
| Like, your boss hooked us all up with free tests. | |
| Does he not have your address? | |
| What's going on there? | |
| Again, gold sequin dress laughing hysterically at getting COVID for the 10th time. | |
| I said 20th, nevertheless. | |
| Laughing at this quadruple boosted crowd consistently getting COVID over and over and over again. | |
| Now, this one actually was a lot of, oh, this was pretty funny. | |
| Cut seven, I think, gets to the heart of the dilemma. | |
| There was a new poll that just came out, I believe it was last week, that exposes that 44% of registered Democrats do not want Biden to run. | |
| That is a, actually, it's 44% are in favor of Joe Biden running. | |
| Sorry, I got that reversed. | |
| Which means that a majority either don't know or unsure or don't want him to run at all. | |
| They want a new horse in the race. | |
| So let's play cut seven. | |
| I think this puts us in a good place of really understanding where the jokes are at and watch Biden's reaction. | |
| You're battling conspiracy theories that the election was stolen by George Soros, that JFK Jr. is still alive, that everyone in this room is a secret pedophile. | |
| And that's just what Clarence Thomas's wife believes. | |
| It's insane, people. | |
| This is truly the golden era of conspiracy theories. | |
| Whether it's the right wing believing Trump can still win the 2020 election, or the left believing Joe Biden can still win the 2024 election. | |
| Look at him just laughing hysterically. | |
| It's so funny. | |
| But that's really true. | |
| I mean, nobody in that room thinks that Joe Biden has a shot and you know what, to win in 2024. | |
| He's sitting there hilarious. | |
| It's hilarious. | |
| Inflation's up. | |
| The world's burning. | |
| I'm not going to win in 2024. | |
| This is hilarious. | |
| Let's laugh at my own misery, my own failures. | |
| But that's what you do at the Correspondent's Center. | |
| And the reason that room went just started laughing hysterically is because they know how true it is. | |
| They know that Joe Biden is basically a failed president. | |
| They know that he's got very little chance to win again in 2024. | |
| He's going to be like 81, 82. | |
| I think he'd be 82 when he actually got inaugurated the second time. | |
| So just to consider that. | |
| I mean, not only is he falling apart, not only is the country falling apart, not only do Democrats themselves not want him as their president, but he's forced to sit at a table and laugh about it, which is really sick, actually. | |
| If you actually think about just how sick that is. | |
| Now, I want to go into Trevor Noah's attack on Fox News. | |
| Again, I don't love Trevor Noah. | |
| I think he is mostly awful. | |
| I think every so often he makes me laugh. | |
| I think this whole DC meets Hollywood glitz and glamour is really untoward. | |
| I think it's really despicable on many levels, but it's very revealing. | |
| We have to consider what this tells us about the nation, about the Democrat Party specifically, about our corrupt media establishment. | |
| So he keys in on two things that I really want to focus on. | |
| And that was Fox. | |
| He really attacked Fox News. | |
| And he says something. | |
| He says, and I don't know if this is part of the clip that we have, but he talks about how the whole room goes tense as soon as he brings up Fox News. | |
| And then he also talks about Trump v. DeSantis, which is something that we've been covering on this show. | |
| Charlie's been polling everybody. | |
| And again, please keep sending your emails in. | |
| Do you prefer Trump or DeSantis 2024? | |
| Freedom at Charlie Kirk. | |
| Email your answers. | |
| Charlie looks at all of them. | |
| Trump or DeSantis 2024. | |
| So Trevor Noah keys in on both of these, but let's start with the Fox clip. | |
| This is cut eight. | |
| Trevor Noah goes after Fox News. | |
| I like that. | |
| I'm really excited because the Kings of Cable are here. | |
| Fox News in the house. | |
| Yeah? | |
| The top-rated news network for the past, what, 300 years? | |
| Chilling it. | |
| And I know Fox has a bad reputation. | |
| I even feel you tense up now when I talk about them. | |
| They really do crush it. | |
| You know, I think they get a bad rap because it's a mixed bag. | |
| You know, they actually have really good journals. | |
| It just depends on when you watch. | |
| All right, Fox News is sort of like a waffle house. | |
| Yeah, it's relatively normal in the afternoon, but as soon as the sun goes down, there's a drunk lady named Janine threatening to fight every Mexican who comes in. | |
| You can throw me out. | |
| I know the real president. | |
| So they're attacking Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingram. | |
| They're attacking really the opinions that a lot of you hold in this audience, which we oftentimes on this show, the Charlie Kirk show, hold. | |
| But that's the point. | |
| They despise you. | |
| And it's really important that you never let go of that true fact. | |
| That is a truth. | |
| That is a fact. | |
| They despise you. | |
| They think that everything that you believe is deplorable. | |
| And that's what the correspondence dinner is all about. | |
| It's revealing just how much contempt the ruling class has for you. | |
| So one more clip from this, and then we're going to move on. | |
| I don't even want to play Biden's clips. | |
| He called Trump a contagion or something like a pandemic himself. | |
| Whatever. | |
| I don't even care. | |
| Let's play one more clip. | |
| And this is the Trump V DeSantis back and forth because I actually think he zeroes in on a piece of truth that's important for us all to get. | |
| So let's go ahead. | |
| I think that's cut that would be cut nine. | |
| But Ron. | |
| Ron is playing it coy, man. | |
| He won't even tell people if he got the booster. | |
| Yeah. | |
| Or as they say in Florida, don't ask, don't tell. | |
| Am I right? | |
| I'll see you, Ron. | |
| You see, what I like about Ron DeSantis is like, if Trump was the original Terminator, DeSantis is like the T-1000. | |
| You know, you're smarter than him. | |
| You're slicker than him. | |
| You can walk down ramps. | |
| Yeah. | |
| Because you see, no, Trump said he won the election, but everyone was just able to look at the numbers and see that he was wrong. | |
| That's why Ron DeSantis is one step ahead. | |
| First, you ban the math textbooks, then nobody knows how to count the votes. | |
| Boom! | |
| My man! | |
| Ha ha ha! | |
| So obviously, that's really disingenuous about the math textbooks. | |
| DeSantis and his team bravely and courageously banned math textbooks that had been corrupted with CRT. | |
| What CRT has to do with anything, with math, I'm not at all sure. | |
| Neither was Ron DeSantis. | |
| So he rightly got rid of him. | |
| Now, people are saying that that's anti-free speech, by the way. | |
| That's not. | |
| Students are not willing participants in speech. | |
| Teachers are agents of the state. | |
| Therefore, students are compelled listeners. | |
| When you have a compelled listener, those decisions are rightly kept and made by those closest to the people, their state representatives. | |

| I want to dial in a little bit closer on this Biden laughing at his own jokes. | |
| So I noticed this piece from CNN. | |
| The political environment is terrible for Democrats and it may get worse. | |
| This is from Stephen Collinson at CNN. | |
| I don't do, I'm not, I'm not in the habit of promoting CNN, but when CNN is this hard, this ruthless in a piece against a sitting president that happens to be a Democrat, you take notice. | |
| And the piece has this picture, a smiling picture of Joe Biden at the correspondence dinner, Washington's Hollywood night. | |
| It's just a disgusting display of anti-just anti-working class, anti-regular folk, the most corrupt media cabals, all buying expensive tables, laughing at their own failures and misery as the country burns. | |
| It's a disgusting display. | |
| Nevertheless, it starts out with this: Joe Biden's term has become a punchline, even to the president. | |
| Biden might have been a good sport in poking fun at himself, his dented approval ratings and his failure to fully enact his domestic agenda at the White House Correspondents Association annual gala Saturday night. | |
| But his jokes were rooted in the painful reality of a presidency hostage to economic and global forces. | |
| Oh, but this is a hilarious line, beyond his control, and compounded by some of the tactical errors of his White House. | |
| Let's stop right there. | |
| Okay, so this is CNN, right? | |
| You can't get away from their editor notes. | |
| You know, you can imagine that the first version of this were, you know, a president that is guilty of economic and foreign diplomacy missteps, compounded by some tactical errors. | |
| And the editor comes in, he goes, no, a presidency held hostage. | |
| It's not his fault to economic and global forces. | |
| And so this is what gets published. | |
| Folks, I've got news for the Democrats. | |
| It is not a president held hostage. | |
| It's a president that has bad policies, that is held hostage by anything by the far left, that is furthering him along some really bad policy agenda items, including the newest forgiving student loan debt, which economists believe will only make inflation worse. | |
| So that's something that we're going to cover in an hour or two. | |
| Nevertheless, his policies are what are holding the American people hostage. | |
| We must never let them get away with these little weird sleight of hands that they do in these articles. | |
| But let's continue. | |
| It's possible that high gas prices, the worst inflation in 40 years, and a war in Ukraine and a persistent pandemic could all ease by November. | |
| I don't think so. | |
| But the trajectory of those crises and the impact they exert on issues that matter to and can hurt Americans, like the price of groceries, could also get worse. | |
| What he says later is that all of this explains a sense of inevitability settling into Washington's conventional wisdom that Republicans are strongly favored to retake the House of Representatives while the Senate could go red too. | |
| Now, check this out. | |
| Some economists are suggesting that inflation on its worst tear since the 1980s has peaked, but a key index watched by the Federal Reserve, the Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index, was up 6.6% for the year ended in March, according to figures released last week. | |
| Energy prices also spiked, and food was up 9.2% over the same period. | |
| Meanwhile, we're seeing reports of food processing plants over the weekend. | |
| Another fire happened on the East Coast. | |
| We've covered this on the show. | |
| There is a spate of these going on all over the country. | |
| What exactly is going on? | |
| We're not sure, but this isn't usual. | |
| This isn't normal. | |
| This isn't a usual thing that happens in our country. | |
| Folks, inflation is actually much higher than the government is telling you because they changed the way they calculate the figure. | |
| Let me say that again. | |
| Inflation is much higher than they're telling you because they changed the way they calculated the figure in the 1980s. | |
| So they say it's the worst since the 1980s. | |
| It's actually much higher. | |
| It's actually much worse than it was in the 1980s. | |
| We're going to have to raise rates to counter this, which is going to trigger a recession. | |
| Charlie covered that sadly on Friday. | |
| Nevertheless, that's the truth. | |
| Folks, Joe Biden is against the ropes. | |
| The Democrat Party is realizing it. | |
| And the media establishment is there to laugh as the country burns and as their own hopes for the future burn. | |
| Thanks, everybody, for tuning in. | |
