Biden's Gun Control Argument 00:07:25
A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
Crime is rising all across the country.
Crime is up in almost every single metropolitan area in America.
In Philadelphia, homicides are up 37%.
Shootings are up 27%.
In Los Angeles, homicides are up 22%.
And shootings are up 51%.
In Portland, homicides are up 533%, and shootings are up 126%.
In New York City, homicides are up 13% and shootings are up 64%.

In Atlanta, homicides are up 58% and shootings are up 40%.
There is a crime wave that is spreading across America.
And the way that Joe Biden wants to address this crime wave is that he believes the fact that people own firearms is the reason why crime is going up.
Nothing to do with abolishing the police or removing any sort of the bail functions that have worked over the last couple decades, where first-degree murderers in Chicago are being released on bail just hours after murdering somebody.
It has nothing to do, of course, of the $950 shoplifting limit of what's happening in Walgreens, where if you go into Walgreens and you steal $949, you will not be prosecuted by the local San Francisco district attorney.
Joe Biden acknowledges none of that.
Instead, he says that it is because of gun owners and because of the amount of gun sales that have happened in the last year.
This is why violent crime is going up.
Now, he doesn't actually address that not just gun crime is going up, but all crime is going up.
So if Joe Biden's theory was correct, only gun crime would be going up.
If Joe Biden's theory was correct, which it isn't, then only deaths via a firearm would be increasing.
Instead, all crime is up.
Arsons are up.
Rape is up.
Looting is up.
Instead, it is a culture of crime that has set in across the country.
And with it, of course, if all of a sudden you're going to have crime be the new normal and acceptable, you're going to see firearm crime go up as well.
Joe Biden gave a very unusual speech yesterday.
The speech he gave was overly defensive.
The speech he gave was trying to preempt some of the arguments that those of us that believe in an armed citizen remake.
I want to play some of the tape here of Joe Biden and some of his apparatches in the media trying to defend him.
And so let's start with this one.
Let's start with cut 74.
Joe Biden.
This shouldn't be a red or blue issue.
It's an American issue.
We're not changing the Constitution.
We're enforcing it.
Cut 74.
We have an opportunity to come together now as Democrats and Republicans.
That means Congress packs these sensible gun prevention, violence prevention initiatives is worrying.
It makes sense.
Background checks, ban on assault weapons, repeal of liabilities over gun manufacturers.
Folks, this shouldn't be a red or blue issue.
It's an American issue.
We're not changing the Constitution.
We're enforcing it.
We're not changing the Constitution.
We're enforcing it.
Now, one part of the Second Amendment is frequently mentioned by the gun grabbers and the collectivists and the statists.
A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
So Joe Biden and the gang, they focus on that term well-regulated militia.
They say, ah, see, we have the ability to say that only people that are in the military are able to own weapons.
You see, this is an overly simplified, sloppy, and inaccurate argument.
This is someone who's never read the Federalist Papers and specifically Federalist 46 by the father of our Constitution, James Madison.
This is an argument that does not understand what a militia was at the time of the formation of our Constitution.
A militia was any male ages 18 to 30.
Let me say that again.
A militia back during the time of the Founding Fathers was any male ages 18 to 30.
Is that what Joe Biden thinks should be able to own firearms and weapons?
He continued by saying he wants to be able to track and trace guns so they can prosecute gun trafficking across city and state lines.
I'm going to play this tape from Joe Biden, and then I'm going to have you think to yourself when you hear him talk, what is the goal here?
Now, the common talking point by a lot of conservative pundits, many of whom I respect, is that gun control is not about guns, it's about control.
I totally agree.
But it's deeper than that.
We're going to explore that together.

As part of our strategy, the Justice Department is creating five new strike forces to crack down illegal gun trafficking and the Carter's supplying weapons to cities like New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and the Bay Area.
With these strike forces, local and federal law enforcement and prosecutors are going to be able to better coordinate the prosecution of illegal gun trafficking across city and state lines.
Now, nothing Joe Biden is recommending or suggesting is going to reduce crime in the inner cities of our country, but it will increase federal law enforcement's ability to be able to know whether or not you own weapons or not.
And so what Joe Biden, the argument he was making, and it wasn't him, it was his 26-year-old Yale graduate speechwriting team of people that do not know the difference between an Armalite rifle, an AR-15, to a pistol, to a semi-autic semi-automatic weapon to an automatic weapons.
All of them, they're all dangerous weapons of war.
The argument Joe Biden was making is that if you give up the freedom to own a firearm, if you just trust us, then all of a sudden your life is going to get better.
You see, the goal that Joe Biden and the collectivists have here is about trying to erode and deteriorate this idea of self-reliance.
An armed citizenry is an independent citizenry.
An armed citizenry is one that is far more responsible.

A disarmed citizenry is an obedient one.
When you do not have the ability to protect yourself and your family, then you'll be more likely to obey.
That when government starts rolling the tanks to the streets, you will bend the knee.
You might say, Charlie, that's unrealistic.
It's never going to happen here.
Government will never use its power against us.
Now, I think it's somewhat self-evident that government is already using its power against us.
I think it's somewhat self-evident that we're already seeing the top levels of the military brass embrace the use of force against political opponents they disagree with.
But I'm going to build this argument out.
I'm going to prove it to you that not only can it happen here, they're trying to implement it here.

Our principle is that the party commands the gun, and the gun must never be allowed to command the party.

An armed citizenry is a responsive citizenry, and it's a respected citizenry.
I'll give you an example of a difference between a hostage situation and a negotiation.
I wrote this in a piece, I think, for Newsweek last year or two years ago, when the Hong Kong protests were heating up.
Hong Kong has a very interesting and mixed history.
It had a charter document with the British Empire for over 100 years.
I think it expired in 2016 or 17 or 18.
And because of that, this idea of who controls Hong Kong came into full light.
The Chinese Communist Party, being greedy, imperialist, soulless, amoral dictators, they, of course, wanted to control a very rich and prosperous.
It's hard to call Hong Kong a nation.
Let's just call it a place like Hong Kong.
And so, but the Hong Kong students and the Hong Kong youth, they wanted liberty and freedom.
You might remember the protests.
You might remember the demonstrations.
But all of a sudden, when those sort of demonstrations start to reach a boiling point, all of a sudden people look around and they realize that those sorts of public outbursts eventually have to hit an intersection of force.
And the Hong Kong freedom fighters realized the hard way that they were in a hostage situation with the CCP.
The Chinese Communist Party had complete and total control of the Hong Kong freedom fighters.
It was just a matter of when the Chinese Communist Party were going to roll the tanks to the streets.
Hong Kong would have had a negotiation, not a hostage situation, if every one of the 19-year-olds in Hong Kong had an AR-15 strapped around their back.
The Chinese Communist Party would have backed off.
They would have said, okay, what do you want?
You see, an armed citizenry prevents widespread and collective action against a citizenry.
And so a question that I think is a very important question is: do weapons or guns change the dynamic of liberty?
Does the ability to own guns make your ability to speak your mind more or less achievable or likely?
Is an armed citizenry more likely to be free in other ways outside of owning a gun?
We have said many times on this program that there is no First Amendment without the Second Amendment.
The Second Amendment is the amendment that protects all the others.
Joe Biden mocked this argument yesterday.
Joe Biden must be reading charliekirk.com.
I highly doubt that.
But I think that he is starting to hear this argument more and more, and he tried his best to preempt it.
Sloppily, of course.
Cut 70.
Biden said, Well, if you think you need weapons to take on the government, you need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons.
Now, this is a very dark thing to say.
Cut 70.
The Second Amendment from the day it was passed limited the type of people who could own a gun and what type of weapon you could own.
You couldn't buy a cannon.
Those who say the blood of patriots, you know, and all the stuff about how we're going to have to move against the government.
While the Tree of Liberty is not watering the blood of patriots, what's happened is that there never been, if you wanted to think you need to have weapons to take on the government, you need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons.
Well, first of all, it's a complete lie that you couldn't buy a cannon in colonial times and at the framers, at the time of the framers and the founders.
Number two, no one here is advocating for weapons of mass destruction.
That is called a gaslighting red herring argument.
Instead, what we are saying is: if you're protected by a certain weapon, Joe Biden, we should be able to have that same weapon.
If you're protected by people with AR-15s, we should be able to own AR-15s.
Isn't that called equity?
I thought that's the whole new push of the left.

This is from a Chicago homicide detective.
I'm not going to say who this is from.
We are frustrated and exhausted.
Constant cancellation of days off and 12-hour delays with no clear strategy for the surge of violence from a clearly clueless and inept headquarters command staff.
We have no support from the upper echelon of our command staff, a prosecutor's office that is openly and vehemently anti-police, and a mayor who is more concerned with appeasing the radical anti-police than assuring the safety of the citizens of Chicago.
That is from the front lines.
The front lines of what's happening in Chicago.
And let's go to our carnage report of what's happening in Chicago.
11 shot and killed this week, 56 shot and wounded, 67 total shot, and 11 total homicides.
Just in June alone, 65 shot and killed, 314 shot and wounded, 379 total shot, and 66 total homicides with the most strict gun laws in the country.

So a common talking point of the gun grabbers is that the founding fathers never imagined or envisioned having an armed citizenry.
So I will get to Federalist 46 by our fourth president, James Madison.
But first, I want to go through something that is not always mentioned.
So the Constitution of the United States was ratified officially in September of 1787.
But 11 years before that, a man by the name of George Mason, and yes, George Mason is more than just a basketball team that went to the final four.
George Mason is one of my favorite founding fathers.
Not George Mason, the basketball team, not George Mason, the university, George Mason, the founding father.
George Mason, in 1776, passed the Virginia Declaration of Rights, amongst many other.
He wrote this, George Mason did.
And it was passed by the Virginia Constitutional Convention on June 12th, 1776.
So I want to reinforce the significance of this.
You see, the 1619 project and the Nicole Hannah Jones types and the bitter racists that are teaching our children, they don't look at what also happened in 1776.
In 1776, on June 12th of 1776, right before July 4th, 1776, the Virginia Declaration of Rights was passed.
On Section 13 on the Virginia Declaration of Rights, in 1776, George Mason wrote what eventually was the inspiration and the blueprint for what became our Bill of Rights, our Constitution.
And Section 13 was George Mason who just loved the Lord and understood the need for people to protect themselves.
In some ways, I wish James Madison would have just copy-pasted what George Mason wrote, because I think his defense of the Second Amendment back in 1776 actually would have shut up more people.
Let me read to you what George Mason wrote in 1776, and it was passed into law at the Virginia Declaration of Rights before our Declaration of Independence.
Quote, that a well-regulated militia, ah, but he defines it, composed of the body of the people trained to arms, is the proper, natural, and safe defense of a free state.
Let me say that again.
The proper, natural, and safe defense of a free state.
George Mason is saying, if you want to be free, you have to have weapons.
That standing armies in times of peace should be avoided as dangerous to liberty.
What is he saying right there?
We don't need standing armies.
We have the people with guns.
That's what's going to protect our liberty.
And that in all cases, the military should be under strict subordination and governed by the civil power.
Whoa.
George Mason is saying, the military must have a check, which is the people.
Now, that's a radical statement in today's political discourse.
What George Mason was saying is that if you want to be able to pursue virtue, you must be able to have the check and balance.
You must be able to have the people to have the capacity to defend themselves.
Now, I encourage every child who's in school and every parent to just familiarize yourself with the Virginia Declaration of Rights.
Let me read this.
This is before the Declaration of Independence.
In some ways, George Mason was sort of like Nikola Tesla to Thomas Edison.
He's the guy that kind of invented it earlier, but never gets any credit.
Quote, that all men are by nature equally free and independent and certain inherent rights of which they enter into a state of society.
They cannot by any compact deprive or divest their posterity, namely the enjoyment of life and liberty with the means of acquiring and possessing property and pursuing and obtaining happiness and safety.
Kind of sounds like our Declaration of Independence, doesn't it?
You see, that year 1776 that we're about to celebrate on July 4th, there was so much movement happening in that year.
Thomas Paine wrote Common Sense.
George Mason passed the Virginia Declaration of Rights.
Adam Smith wrote the inquiry into the Wealth of Nations.
Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence.
This common through line, though, is that a small group of people cannot prevent you from pursuing virtue.
He says the government is ought to be and instituted by the common benefit, protection, security of the people, nation, and community of by all various forms of government.
That is best which is capable of producing the greatest degree of happiness and safety, effectually secured against the danger of maladministration.
Joe Biden has a completely different philosophical framework that he's working from.
It's the exact opposite.
Remember this Cut 71 when Anderson Cooper said, so the gun owners out there who say, well, a Biden administration means they're going to come from my guns.
Remember Biden said bingo, Cut 71.
To gun owners out there who say, well, a Biden administration means they're going to come from my guns.
Bingo, you're right if you have an assault weapon.
The fact of the matter is they should be illegal, period.
An assault weapon is a made-up term.
An assault weapon is a gaslighting Orwellian newspeak operation.
There is no such thing as an assault weapon.
And if you are in the firearms industry, you know this to be true.
There's no such thing as an assault rifle.
It does not exist.
An assault weapon could be a baseball bat.
Assault weapon is a term that basically means scary-looking gun.
That's what assault weapon means.
And the reason why they are doing this is more and more clear.
What if I told you the push to vaccinate you via force and the push to take away your firearms is the same push.
What if I told you the push to try to erode your first principles and freedoms and to put a needle in your arm is the same project?
We will call that here on the Charlie Kirk show for the time being, Project Obey.
The common through line of what we are living through right now is an attempt to weaken your spirit, to debase your resolve, to try to have you no longer sit up straight with your shoulders back and look clearly at your leaders and say, you don't control me, you work for me.
Instead, it's to have you, in a crippled-like fashion, take a knee and say, please stop abusing me.
That dynamic is one that is this almost non-stop campaign of using the state and corporate power.
I might mention we cannot forget corporate power to try to obliterate the social contract that John Locke so beautifully articulated, James Madison did in Federalist 46, and George Mason in the Virginia Bill of Declaration of Rights and the Constitution of the United States and the Declaration of Independence.
It all is intersecting at this moment in 2021.
How lucky are we to be living through this time where all of a sudden this idea of self-government and the independent judiciary and checks and balances is coming into full question and light?
Who are we?
Are we owned by the state or does the state or do we own the state?

If their thesis was correct, then only gun crime would be going up.

From the administration's perspective, why is this happening?

The fact that we have let the NRA govern this country for far too long and the president is willing to take them on.
The NRA governing our country.
So first of all, she didn't actually ask about gun crime.
He immediately goes to gun crime.

Is that because of the NRA?

We're in the midst, though, of something much more deeper and fundamental than policy debates of whether or not we're going to get some bridge that we don't need going out to Martha's Vineyard.
We're asking questions like: who are we?
Where do we call home?
What is America?
What is a human being?
How do we govern ourselves?
These are much more fundamental questions.
And actually, that's an argument that I would much rather have than whether or not we need some sort of solar panel project on some bizarre island in the Galapagos region or whatever they're spending infrastructure money on.
I'm sure some of it's going to be fine.
These infrastructure bills have a tendency to be massive handouts to corrupt union leaders and deliver very little to the voters.
The Second Amendment is the amendment that protects all the other amendments.
And it says very clearly in our charter and our founding documents, this contract and this promise, from the Virginia Declaration of Rights to the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, that you have a right to question your government.
Do you think you are more or less likely to question your government when you have a weapon?
The goal is obedience.
And as I demonstrated in the Hong Kong example, if you are not able to protect yourself, if you do not have the ability to challenge a usurptatious government, God forbid it ever comes to that, then you are nothing more than a prisoner in an open-air environment.
Now, many apparatchiks in the media do not like it when conservatives talk this way, but they know it's true.
The 20th century is stained with the blood of over 120 million people that were murdered in cold blood after dictators, tyrants, and despots took your weapons away.
I will reiterate what I read earlier.
The leader of the National Socialist Workers' Party, Hitler, said the most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern European people to have weapons or arms.
History teaches us that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so.
Mao Zedong again said, all political power comes from the barrel of a gun.
The Communist Party must command all the guns.
That way, no guns can ever be used to command the party.
You see, Joe Biden is gaslighting and he says, well, if you really want to defend us, you are going to need thermonuclear weapons.
Well, I guess, Joe, that if there was ever, God forbid, something that happened in our country, you're willing to use a thermonuclear weapon against the opposition.
What we're saying instead is that the owning of a firearm prevents conflict.
It prevents blood from being spilled.
Because when both sides know that they are armed, all of a sudden it becomes a negotiation, not a hostage situation.
You see, one of the tricks of the tyrants, one of the ploys, one of the tactics and one of the strategies that they employ is try to tell you, ignore history.
Guns aren't that necessary.
Trust us.
You trust Joe Biden?
You trust Joe Biden after they locked down our country and lied about the virus and lied about masks?
You trust Joe Biden after at every single turn his government have tried to infringe on our first freedoms and liberties?
That's the very same government that wants you to turn in your weapons.
This free society we have, this robust liberty that we enjoy that is ever decreasing, I'm sorry to say, is protected on fragile footing.
And that fragile footing at times is as simple and as plain as your ability to walk into a gun store, be able to put a revolver on your hip or an AR-15 on your back and say, God made me free, and if I need to, I will protect that freedom.
The Second Amendment protects all our other freedoms.
