This Week in Stupid (22⧸07⧸2018)

Time Text
So this is Louis Levay and for today, July 22nd, 2018, I'm covering This Week in Stupid while the Sardan of Swindon is in Greece doing a documentary proving Italians and Greeks are not white.
It's been kind of a busy week and so right out of the gate, the top story of this week in terms of national media coverage was Donald Trump meeting with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.
According to Vladimir Putin in an interview with Chris Wallace from Fox News and later from the White House, the conversation was limited to a handful of issues.
Trump later in the week invited Putin to visit him in Washington to continue the talks because what was discussed in Helsinki according to both sides wasn't the full breadth of the topics that needed to be covered.
According to Trump, a deal was reached on something that in the future would be announced.
If you believe the media, it has to do with either the quasi-extradition of a U.S. diplomat, the actual extradition of a former Putin henchman, or a referendum in Crimea.
Because of the hysterical minute-to-minute coverage of what was actually agreed upon and the White House not having made the announcement, I can't actually tell you what's going on.
Which is just one of the reasons that I'm being very succinct about this event because the news coverage is fucking never-ending.
Directly after the meeting, every CIA spook came out of the woodwork to decry Trump.
You have congressmen and former CIA directors calling Trump a traitor.
You have Bernie Sanders and Rand Paul arguing in the Senate over sanctions.
This week has been insane, and I'm supposed to confine all this shit to 20 minutes.
Here's a summary version.
Trump derangement syndrome is real.
Never Trumpers want you to vote Democrat in November.
Trump contradicted himself on the Russian narrative.
The evidence for Russian meddling is still almost non-existent.
We're arresting Russians with associations with right-wing organizations for indeterminate crimes.
Russia is our enemy today, but barely a foe just a few years ago.
A congressman called for the military to overthrow the government.
And finally, according to polling, nobody gives a shit about any of this.
Before we move on, I'll ask one question.
Do you trust the CIA?
Think for a second about what they are demanding.
If you don't automatically accept the imprecise, nonspecific, never fully explained findings of shadowy intelligence agencies with long, documented track records of making serious mistakes, you've somehow betrayed your country.
The very people who assured you that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, the ones who said the Shah would never fall in Iran, etc., etc., those people must be believed without question or else.
On television, this group is called the Intelligence Community.
That's an Orwellian name if there ever was one.
Where exactly is this community we hear so much about?
Does it have a zip code?
A public library system?
A youth football league?
How long before Congress starts demanding unthinking obedience to the lawmaker community?
It's a community, after all.
You must obey it.
Dissent is unpatriotic.
And if you don't agree, you're working for Vladimir Putin.
That's where we're heading, by the way, and fast.
In some ways, this whole story is about Donald Trump and what he's said and what he does.
But on a deeper level, it has nothing to do with Donald Trump.
This is about democracy, whether or not voters rule their country.
It turns out the very people telling you they are saving our democracy are working overtime to destroy it and scolding you as they do.
More in international news, the Cuban government is expanding online coverage for mobile phones.
The government seems to think, based on what they say, that allowing Cuban nationals to use the internet will spur positive sentiment towards communism and not capitalism.
I don't really understand the logic, but I get the feeling this will work out for the United States just fine.
The Cuban government this week has also announced that they are now recognizing private property and thereby private property rights of citizens.
Do you get the feeling that communism isn't going to be the future of Cuba and that in the next 30 years, obesity is going to be their main problem?
Jokes aside, this is a good development.
And when all the commie shit is put to rest and American brands are everywhere in Cuba, the entire world, especially Cuba, will be a better place.
If the Cubans are smart, they'll try to haggle a deal with the United States to have us underwrite their national security and guard their shipping lanes.
Yesterday, Imperial Japan, today, Communist Cuba, and perhaps in time, the whole world.
That sounds like a golden era to me.
More in international news, last Sunday in an interview with CBS News, President Trump labeled the European Union an economic foe of the United States.
He's right.
The European Union is directly competing against the United States and wants to become Orwell's nightmare of a superstate.
Despite how badly Brexit is going for the British, I don't really see much of a future for the EU.
Symbolically, having the EU president John Claude Junker stumbling around and being labeled a binge-drinking drunk by the media doesn't show the Union, as they call it, in a positive light.
Even worse for the EU is the fact that Steve Bannon, the former executive chairman of Breitbart and former chief strategist for Donald Trump, announced this week that he is going to create a political organization in Europe with the goal of electing nationalist politicians and destroying the European Union.
Steve Bannon declared himself to be the antithesis of George Soros in terms of politics and personal wealth, but stated that he will dominate European politics in the same way, saying, quote, I am a bond villain.
Rahim Qasim, I believe it's pronounced, the former editor-in-chief of Breitbart News London and a political activist in the UK, said, quote, forget your Merkles.
Soros and Bannon are going to be the two biggest players in European politics for years to come.
Coincidentally, this week, the New York Times published a massive fluff piece in a future story on none other than kindly old liberal philanthropist George Soros.
George Soros bet big on liberal democracy.
Now he fears he's losing.
George Soros is a liberal in the same way Plato was a fucking liberal.
In the same way Socrates was a Democrat.
Who the fuck do you think you're fooling New York Times?
Is there anyone on planet Earth that believes this cocksucker is anything other than a utopian lunatic?
I could spend the rest of this video picking this article apart, but it's long and it's a fluff piece.
It's propaganda.
Donald Trump, populism, nationalism, Brexit, and the growing Western movement rebuking internationalism and globalism are the direct outcome of 60 years of faulty policy.
It doesn't matter how many wordy, circle jerk articles the National Review or the Financial Times or the Wall Street Journal pumps out defending internationalism, you still have Trump.
And now Hungary and Italy and Poland and sooner or later France and Britain and no way to stop what's happening.
As much as everyone wants this paradigm shift to be the populist right against the elitist left, what this actually is, is the direct outcome of 60 years of internationalist thought being rejected by people all throughout the world at once.
In the United States, this is the direct outcome of globalization and outsourcing.
The right-wing internationalists can rattle off their list of Apollosia, but these are the facts as they are.
And so far, you have no way of slowing this down.
People are not content with the status quo.
And when offered the option, they went with a populist Democrat from Manhattan.
Now what was once your base is now his base?
And what's Trump doing this week?
He's threatening to enact tariffs on all Chinese exports.
And there's not a fucking thing you can do to stop him.
You know whose fault this is?
Yours!
The elitist upper middle class moralizing left and the sanctimonious corporatist right.
You hate Trump because what he is is 60 years of your shit coming to a close.
You have no way to stop him and your intelligentsia has been defeated.
Now you have right-wing big brains like George Will and plenty of other gold-breaking egghead assholes all calling for Americans to vote for the Democrats in November because nobody's listening to you anymore.
But why are people not listening to the internationalist intelligentsia anymore?
Here's a clue.
You are wrong about China.
You bet millions of jobs and billions of dollars on China, but now they're our primary geopolitical, economic, and eventually military foe.
They're expanding their reach all across the world, doing so at our direct expense, and none of you fucking people are focusing on that.
Instead, we have senators ranting about Russia and CIA directors calling the president a traitor.
All the while, the real foes of liberty, individualism, and Western democracy grow uninhibited.
So when Carl Swindon and his motley crew of internet shit posters are kicking the asses of elitists, collectivists, and internationalists, it shouldn't come as any surprise.
In Britain, the UK Independence Party is growing, and it's the direct result of internationalist politicians failing to deliver on the demands of the voting public.
Understand that you're watching the whole of the Western political elite stumble and fail against what amounts to some random assholes off the street.
The president of the United States is a celebrity billionaire, a populist Democrat from Manhattan, and everyone involved in American politics.
And I mean everyone involved in politics just concedes that they can't stop him.
The ball of nationalism is now rolling and you can either genuinely offer something to slow it down or get run over by it, but there's no stopping it.
Moving on to domestic news, Chicago has pretty much become Carcer City from the Grand Theft Auto lore, where violence, urban decay, and death is everywhere.
It sounds like I'm being flippant, but isn't Chicago not even in the top five for the most violent cities?
I'll let somebody in the comment section look that up for me.
Speaking of shitholes, San Francisco is laying the infrastructure for Democrats to commit mass voter fraud.
Sorry.
I mean, they're allowing non-citizens to vote for elected officials.
For those of you who may have taken a political science course at some point in your life like me, you may find yourself asking, isn't the whole point of a Republican government supposed to be carrying out the interests of the voting citizenry?
Apparently, at some point, representative government went out of style, coincidentally, in Democratic strongholds.
I'm still a registered Democrat, by the way, although I couldn't tell you why.
However, I have a question for my fellow Democrats that claim this is giving non-citizens, illegals, a voice in our government.
What's stopping Russia from using these laws to meddle in our politics?
In other domestic news, you have this story that consumed the press for at least a couple days related to this Honduran baby that was held in custody for months, from what it seems, that was then deported back to Honduras to the family because the family was processed first and then the baby was then processed because the family couldn't prove that the child was theirs, which is held up by the press as some kind of injustice.
But the problem is, and you look at this, and this is such a true story related to the whole immigration issue.
Like, what exactly do you want the government to do?
What exactly do you want the government to do in processing this child that came with its parents illegally to the United States?
What exactly do you want to do with this?
And this is used as a symbol to talk about the entire immigration issue in the United States.
But again, it just begs the question, if the systems in place are not adequate, either you have to specifically say what systems you want to replace the ones that we have now, or you're just in favor of open borders.
If we're in a situation where we cannot prove that the parents are the parents, that the children are the children of these adults, if that is the situation as it is, as we are processing people that have illegally entered the United States, what do you want to do?
Do you just want to expedite the process and have it be that in the case of people coming here illegally, that we may be just pushing kids into the hands of traffickers, of rapists and criminals?
Because that's happened.
It's one of the biggest problems with the border is that people that are trafficked into the country are often raped.
Do you just want to exaggerate that problem, make it worse?
What exactly do you want to do other than have open borders to remedy this issue?
Because either your choices are push these people, these children, into the hands of traffickers, because we're not actually examining their paperwork.
We're not actually identifying who they are or hold them even longer to further examine who they are, which again is going to keep them out of the hands of their parents because the process takes longer, or we just have open borders, which by all appearances is what the actual argument is.
Simply because we are holding people up to process them to identify who they are, that's somehow an injustice.
So therefore, we should have open borders.
And I'm sorry, if you have open borders, you don't have a nation.
And this is very scary considering that I just did the story of San Francisco is pushing for illegals gaining the right to vote.
The right, quote unquote.
It's amazing to me that the press can just print articles stating that all of this is an injustice when it's the fault of the parents.
It's not the fault of our government.
It's not the fault of the people processing this paperwork.
It's not the fault of the bureaucracy.
The bureaucracy exists to the tune of billions of dollars simply because we have millions of people pouring over our borders and into this country.
Even if, let's say, we just had open borders, you only then make the bureaucracy that much worse.
The bureaucracy exists regardless of what we do in terms of our borders.
Either it's border enforcement or it's processing people that are here.
You're going to have it either way.
So the issue to me is, do you believe that we should have borders or not?
And the fact is, in my opinion, a person that believes that we should have a Republican form of government, if we want to have that form of government, we must then have borders.
If there's injustices happening or crimes occurring in the bureaucracy that processes these people, by all means, call that out.
I've seen articles calling that out.
But are we just going to ignore that this is just the natural outcome of bureaucracy?
And this is not the fault of the voters or of the government.
This is the fault of the parents coming here with the children.
If you don't want to have your children held in custody while we're processing them for coming to this country illegal and determining who the fuck they are, don't come here with the children.
To be clear, I don't agree with this.
Come here alone as an adult, work, send your money back home.
I don't agree with that, okay?
You shouldn't be coming here illegally, but do that if you don't want to have your children held in custody for a fucking year, however long it was.
This is your fault.
Moving on to reboot news, Joss Whedon, director and male feminist parolee, has decided to reboot Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
This time, it's going to be hella diverse with a black female lead and Anita Sarkeesian can't stand it.
Welcome to the hell you created, Anita.
Enjoy it.
In other reboot news, 80s cartoon She-Ra is coming back as Hira, a fantasy show starring a barely legal trap written by a she-twink bulldyke.
A lot of people seem to be confused by this reboot, claiming, actually, it's a goil.
It's a barely legal trap.
A boy dressing as a girl, and his name is Hira.
Next up in gaming news, earlier this week, GeoG.com, a video game distributor people claim is superior to Steam, folded like a cheap table and bent the knee to social justice game journals after incredibly mild criticism after they posted a gif on Twitter mocking video game journals.
This is the second time in as many years that the website has gotten down in all fours and begged SJWs for forgiveness for offending them.
And finally for this week, we have the controversy over Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn being fired by Disney after gross tweets of his were unearthed reportedly by Mike Cernovich.
So this is a train wreck of a story because as far as I can tell, every side of it's bad.
Mike Cernovich and his supporters are outright calling Gunn a pedophile for what appears to be a series of gross and weirdly specific jokes on Twitter.
Gunn himself is a prick with Hollywood elitist politics that is being held to his own standard because he encouraged online mobbing in the past.
A ton of progressives are currently wondering what happened to free speech online and want Gunn to be rehired by Disney because he has the correct politics.
I'll summarize this by addressing each party involved.
To the Cernovich crowd, you're engaging in SJW tactics for the sake of claiming a scalp, and that's it.
You think you're a vigilante mob, but you're engaging in utterly unethical behavior that is not activism of any kind.
To Gunn himself, you encouraged this exact kind of thing to happen to other people, and you shouldn't have.
You should apologize for doing this.
Not saying what you said, but engaging in what you were doing beforehand.
Defend your own speech and drop your mean-spirited politics.
To the Gunn did nothing wrong crowd, the only reason you're defending him is because of his politics being closer to yours than anything resembling a principled stand against censorious tactics.
Roseanne Barr just had her scalp taken over a barely coherent joke, and so many of you same people mobbed her because she supported Trump.
The same can be said for everybody's favorite shit poster, Count Dankula, who is still called the Nazi.
I mean, you have to ultimately decide where you stand on this, and I mean this specifically to so many people on the left.
I've seen just short of everyone that isn't a free speech advocate and a self-avowed one call Count D'Ancula either alt-right or just a Nazi because he did some bullshit video where he trained his dog to put his paw up and he was prosecuted for it.
There were endless articles just flat out calling him a Nazi, just saying he's alt-right, he's a white supremacist, whatever.
As far as I can tell, you're still standing on the same side as those people.
Either develop a principled stance in favor of free speech and free association rather than this hypocritical bullshit you're currently engaging in, or more people like Cernovich are going to mob you.
If more people backed public figures like Gunn, Roseanne, Count Dankula, and Milo, as I have, to say whatever stupid shit on social media and not lose their careers, this would stop.
This happens because people are being completely absurd and just want to claim a scalp for their side.
Repeat after me.
I don't care if you say some dumb shit on Twitter, I won't come for your career.
If we all agree to that, it stops.
The fact is though, a lot of leftists are full of shit and do this kind of thing daily.
Knock it off.
Stop mobbing people.
Alright, that's it for me.
