Time Text
So I'm back from my holiday in Spain, I had a very nice time, thanks for asking.
The weather was lovely, the people wonderful, the food wasn't as good as Greece, but it was still very good.
So I'm going to go through the art entries for the competition, and it's really difficult for a couple of reasons.
One, I had over 200 entries, which was a lot more than I was expecting, and two, the standard was really good.
Because I had so many entries, I decided to whittle it down to the top 20 that I'd go through in this video.
I'll leave a link in the description of this video to an Immigr album where you can have a look and browse through all of the entries if you'd like.
Many of them are really, really good, and clearly people have spent a lot of time on them.
So I'm really sorry that I can't feature them, but I probably will end up featuring pieces of artwork in different videos later on down the line.
It'd be a real shame not to do them, and because there are so many different tones and tenors to the pieces, different videos might call for different ones.
It might be more suitable.
So again, sorry if it's not featured in this video, and sorry if you're not in the top 20.
I didn't realise what kind of response I was going to get, but I really enjoyed doing this.
There were loads of different styles sent in as well, and none of them were invalid at all.
really don't mind how people do their artwork.
It's the, it's how much I, it's what I get out of it that I like about it.
And so there's no particular criteria other than how much I like looking at the picture.
So sorry that there's no sort of formal judging metric here or anything like that, but it's just how nice I thought it was.
So let's begin with the noble shit posters, who are making the internet a funnier place.
Like with the proper entries, there's no particular criteria other than how much I liked it.
So this one was pretty funny.
Me as a fat Sargon raging and smashing people's faces in presumably, which is what I suppose all the blood is meant to be.
This one's amazing.
This is what I look with feminate lenses on.
And again, I don't have much to say about it other than I like it.
So here we have Bizarro Sargon with a pink beard, a wang staff, shooting rainbows from his nipples and enjoying his multicultural kingdom of tolerance.
Needless to say, this one was a really, really close contender for first prize, and is basically how I spend my weekends.
Unfortunately, it fell at the last hurdle because there are no dead Frenchmen around.
Better luck next time.
This is a pencil drawing that will make you question your sexuality.
My tits and my arse are frankly not that hot.
My beard is about that good though, so that's okay.
Do remember to vote Sargon for God Emperor of the Universe 2016 if you want hope and change.
Or you could go Hillary Clinton.
It's your choice.
Quite possibly the rarest Pepe of all, and absolutely captures my disappointment with modern life.
This is something I am undoubtedly going to use in the future.
It turns out my art competition isn't a brony exclusionary zone.
In fact, this Sargon Brony picture is surprisingly good.
It's kind of cute.
I think you're all degenerates, but that's okay.
I like to think that I've just burnt down a regressive stronghold here, and now the army of whinging manginas, cucks, and feminatives have come out to bitch and moan at me.
Seriously, this is a great picture.
There's nothing...
I love good caricature.
I really do.
As a collector of happy merchants, I would like to thank Shlomo Steinbergstein for this wonderful Dugon of Mossad.
This is just... look at that note.
That is amazing.
But this was by far my favourite of the meme-worthy pictures.
This one was just right.
The dude from the Emperor's New Groove.
And honestly, I'm going to use this.
This is just so good.
Thank you so much for this gift.
Also, the backdrop is absolutely beautiful as well.
I hope you painted it yourself because it's a really really nice thing and I might end up using it separately because a lot of these would I specifically asked for the figure to be cut out from the background if possible So let's move on to some of the more serious entries, because some of these are just staggeringly good.
I mean, this one in particular, I'll probably end up using as like my thumbnail or cover on Aura TV.
Just look at this.
I mean, I honestly, I don't feel good enough to use this, but it's so beautiful that I would feel remiss if I didn't.
Just look at that Ozymandian sneer of cold command.
I adore it.
And the background is just stunning.
Absolutely stunning.
So, and I love the font as well.
There was something about the simplicity of this pixel art piece that I really liked.
It's nice.
There's just something about it.
I like looking at it.
And it was the best pixel art piece I received, so I thought I'd definitely feature it.
I absolutely adore this series of reaction faces.
There's something about the consistency of the style that really appeals to me, and they've just got so much character and charm that I am absolutely going to use these in a video at some point.
These are just so cute.
There were a series of paintings that were done by what looks like professional artists, where they've really captured the spirit of what I was asking for in the initial video, just to the letter.
And the thing is, I actually, I found it really hard to choose between any of them, because some of the expressions and just the tenor of the paintings were just lovely.
Absolutely lovely.
I think the way that Sargon is dressed in this particular picture, but in many of them, it's just absolutely brilliant.
It looks like the artists have done a particularly large amount of research into not only the architecture, but also the style that you might expect by looking at ancient artwork.
I really like the simplicity and the colours of this one.
Sargon as the thinker just sat on a rock in the middle of a desert in the middle of the night pondering a great question.
Absolutely gorgeous.
I really love how crisp and delicate this one is, and I really love the backdrop, the art on the walls.
It's perfectly Mesopotamian.
It's absolutely gorgeous.
I expected to receive more 3D renderings than I did, but this one is just class all the way.
There's something really elegant about it, and it's just pleasant to look at.
This is an absolutely gorgeous piece, but because it's reminiscent of Socrates instructing his students, I couldn't take it because I would definitely feel that I was acting above my station to do so.
But it's such a lovely piece that I definitely had to feature it.
I really enjoyed the colour and the lighting in this one, and if Sargon wasn't quite so front and centre, I probably would have at least put it in the top three, but it doesn't really fit with the layout of what I'm doing in my videos.
I'll probably use it as some sort of cover art or backdrop or something, because it's got the name on it as well.
I got a few of them where Sargon is represented as a grizzled old man, and again, I'll probably use these, because this is just...
This is a gorgeous picture.
This is just such a wonderful representation, and the detail, and just the quality of the art.
I'm just honestly so impressed.
Much like this one as well.
I mean, look at that face.
This whole thing looks like a portrait picture from Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale.
And look at that expression as well.
It's the face of someone who is hearing something that they know is complete and total horseshit.
I'm not even sure why I like this one so much, but there's something about the hint of mystery on the sculptures on the walls, and the way that it's just Sargon standing in the light of this giant temple that I just find it very, very charming.
This is another one of those ones where Sargon's clearly being told something he very much doubts is true.
Also, I love the art on the back.
It's eminently Sumerian.
There are a few pieces I was sent that have a story within the picture, and I really, really like this one.
This is, you know, a feminist mob burning books, and Sargon has managed to rescue one that's slightly singed on the corner.
I really like the atmosphere of this picture.
I love the silhouette of the mob burning the books.
But yeah, the whole thing, really, really nice.
This one is without a doubt one of my favourites.
And again, if Sargon wasn't quite so front and centre, and if it wasn't so action-packed, I'd probably have made it one of the winners.
but I'll certainly use it as some sort of cover figure.
One of my favourite films is Army of Darkness, and I love the way this picture reminds me of that.
As Sargon fighting off the hordes of regressives, with nothing but dangerous ideas that threaten to undermine their narratives.
I really like this picture.
And so we finally come to the top three, the ones that are going to receive prize money.
And it was really difficult to choose between, honestly, all of these 20.
And I...
I would not have been disappointed in the slightest if any one of the pieces of art so far was the best out of the bunch, in my opinion.
But these are really, really nice and I just don't, I'm not even sure if I'm sure about the order I'm going to put them in.
I just know that these were my favourites.
And I'll go through them and tell you why.
As I said, I can take out the figure from many of them and just have the backdrop.
And on this one, the backdrop was just incredible.
I absolutely adore everything about this.
I think the figure of Sargon is also very good, but there's something about the face and the eyes that didn't win me over as much as the other ones.
But the backdrop was so good that I'll probably use that independently, and I think the artist deserves as much credit as I can give him, because absolutely gorgeous.
I suspect what I might do is mix and match one of the other Sargon cutouts with this background.
Because it's just such a lovely representation that I would hate to not really use it for something.
So I've decided to put this one in third place.
Well done, Jonathan.
This is one of the earliest ones I received, and I knew it was going to be really hard to beat because I really love just the composition of it.
I loved Sargon looking out over a CAD, like, almost pensively.
But this would really fit very nicely into videos that I do, and to a certain style of video.
Like I said, I'll probably use different pictures for different styles of videos.
And this one will certainly be for the sort of the more difficult ones that I do.
So congratulations, Julian.
You came in second place.
So this one was my favourite by quite a margin, purely because of his facial expression.
I mean, don't get me wrong, the rest of the figure of Sargon looks great.
I like that there's a younger man, because I'm not that old, goddammit.
But I love that expression.
Just look at the face.
He knows he's being fed a complete line of shit, and he's not impressed.
Even in fact, nothing but contempt for the people telling him this nonsense.
It's just absolutely gorgeous.
And again, this figure can be cut out.
And I probably will use this with different backgrounds because I just, I don't know how to explain it, but there's something about just the expression and the posture and the attitude that comes across that I find just, just fantastic.
And so, congratulations, Sagan.
i've got to award you first place man i there there is just something about this that really is it just captures me i I can't really explain it, and I don't think I'm going to try.
So, congratulations.
This is my favourite.
Once again, I'd like to thank everyone who entered.
And even if your art wasn't featured in this video, I probably will still use it in a video further on down the line, because I really want to be able to showcase as much of the art that I received as possible.
And, I mean, there was just so much good stuff that it was difficult whittling it down to just 20 to put in.
And I thought I was going to get it down to 10, but there were just too many things that I wanted to show everyone.
As I said, I'll leave a link in the description, so if you'd like to go through it, and I'd recommend you do, it's all going to be gorgeous, then please be my guest.
And I'll leave the names of the people will be the title of the piece.
So I assume that if you put their names into Google, you'll be able to find their deviant art pages or something like that.
I would list them all with them, but it would take too long for me to do 200.
So I'm not going to.
But if possible, I'll probably end up commissioning artworks for different things later on from various artists who really impressed me.
Because there was just so much good stuff here.
I never expected to get this kind of a response.
