Episode 5170: Trump Standing Up For The Trucking Industry; The Fight To Save Texas Is Now
Donald Trump’s strategic political moves—like his Corpus Christi visit on February 27—highlight his influence amid Texas’s trucking industry crisis, where undocumented immigrants holding CDLs threaten jobs and security. Critics like Shannon Everett push the "Delilah law" to block non-domicile licenses, framing it as a moral and national defense priority, while Lance Walnot compares Trump to Lincoln, urging a "theological reckoning" on May 17 to rally Christian voters against "anarchists without God." With 140,000 unexpected Democratic votes in Texas primaries, losing the state risks broader Republican collapse, demanding urgent grassroots action to preserve conservative values and electoral dominance. He used the gallery more effectively than I've ever seen him use it.
And I think he's used it better than any other president.
In other words, bringing the right people in to talk about the right issues, policies, political and policy, using people, using the gallery.
But then he also noticed he had this whole Democrats on the ropes and he worked both of them like you said, like a maestro, like a conductor going back and forth between these two.
It is incredible that they hate him so much, Steve.
They hate him so much.
They couldn't fix their own problem, which would just stand.
Moments ago, the Cuban government announced that it killed at least four people and wounded six others after exchanging gunfire with a Florida-based speedboat.
The Cuban government made the announcement on Facebook.
The boat, they say, came within a mile of a central Cuban province.
Cuban border guards approached the boat, seeking to identify those on board.
That's when individuals on the speedboat opened fire.
A commander on the Cuban vessel was wounded.
Those injured on the speedboat were evacuated to receive medical assistance.
All right, all of this comes amid heightened tensions with the Trump administration over a block on foreign oil shipments.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio is currently in St. Kitts for talks with Caribbean leaders about concerns in that region.
It's Wednesday, 25 February in the year of our Lord 2026.
Tomorrow in Geneva, we're going to have another rounds of discussion.
And President Trump has told you repeatedly and at the State of the Union that unless he, if the Persians continue to tap him along and there's indirect one in one room, one in the other, it's not going to work.
If there's a deal, he wants to get a deal.
If it's just going to get tapped along, then he may have to use some coercive diplomacy.
You've got Gaza, you have Venezuela, you've got so many actions centers around the world.
Of course, they're also meeting, I think, today and tomorrow about Ukraine, you know, the little war there that's killed three or four million or three or four million casualties, dead and wounded.
Let's go to Neil McCabe at the White House.
So Secretary Rubio leaves today to go to St. Kitts, and there's a strategic meeting down there about the region.
And as everybody knows, the ticking time bomb down there is Cuba.
Now that we've essentially quarantined, done a naval blockade or quarantine so they can't get any more oil from Venezuela.
And there's so little cash.
I think they canceled like their Fat Tuesday episode.
They had an international cigar exposition they've done every year for 100 years.
They had to cancel that, not enough cash.
They're really hurting.
We're putting the squeeze on, we're putting the squeeze on them actually bigger than we're even putting the squeeze on the Ayatollah.
So Neil McCabe, let me get this right.
There was a speedboat, like one of these, I don't know, commando boats, a mile off the coast of Cuba at a high rate of speed, and the local Cuban authorities took it upon themselves when it didn't stop to light it up.
Yeah, as I understand it, the Cuban government has put out a statement.
I called Coast Guard Public Affairs of Miami.
They directed me to state.
State hasn't replied.
White House hasn't replied.
But if we go off the Cuban government statement that was posted around 2 o'clock this afternoon, this speedboat was about a mile off the coast of Northeast Cuba.
It was a place called Cayo Facones.
It's a sort of a group of sort of resort islands.
And the speedboat was about a mile off the coast.
A border patrol vessel approached the speedboat and said, you know, for ask for identification.
So they're probably just doing their normal patrol, as our Coast Guard would be.
And as they were asking for identification, the gentleman in the speedboat started lighting up the Cubans.
The Cuban, the commander of the Cuban vessel was injured.
The Cubans returned fire.
And so in the end, you had four dead, six injured on the speedboat.
The Cubans now have the speedboat.
The injured crew members, they're calling them aggressors.
So no one has said they're Americans or Cuban Americans, but what they call the aggressors are getting medical attention in Cuba.
And I spoke to a source in the Cuban government who sort of expressed their kind of concerns that why did the Coast Guard or the U.S. Navy, why did the U.S. government allow this to happen?
It's a civilian registered vehicle.
I couldn't get a name or a company, but it's a Florida registered vehicle.
And the Cubans returned fire and they're on the vessel.
And we've ascertained it's registered in the United States.
We don't know if these are Americans, Cuban-Americans, whatever.
But they're for so when they return fire, having been fired upon and seem like they haven't reported any injuries, they return fire, killed four, and there's six that are injured and were taken by the Cubans for medical attention.
Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of an incident where two when Cuban MiG aircraft shot down two Cessnas in international water that were flown by the organization Brothers to the Rescue of Cuban Americans who work to protect those trying to flee Cuba.
So you mentioned Secretary Rubio's visit, but that anniversary, I think, is significant.
Again, 30 years ago yesterday, when the Cubans killed, murdered civilians, American civilians flying Cessnas in international airspace.
Second point is, first reports are always hazy, but it strikes me that this is the casualties are very lopsided.
You have basically the four killed on the speedboat and six wounded, and purportedly the Cuban captain wounded in this incident.
So that I think is quite notable, that there was, I think the Cubans were looking for a fight, and they found one and shot up this boat.
The purpose of the boat, of course, is we don't yet know what it was doing in Cuban waters, as it does, as Neil said, it was one mile offshore.
So that's in Cuban Cuban waters.
But it looks like the Cubans are looking for a fight and they found one today, a very important signal to the U.S. government.
I was able to track down Eric Prince, who's on the move today, but he said, because of what you mentioned the first, these tourist areas, unless he sees other information, he says, hey, this could have just been folks out for some sort of fishing trip or expedition.
And he agrees with Thayer that it seems like the Cubans are pretty quick on the trigger.
Somehow, they're alleging these guys opened fire.
That has not been proven yet or not.
I guess we'll find that out.
But they took out four guys immediately, killed four and wounded six.
But as someone who I spent three years on a Coast Guard ship in the Caribbean, and we kind of interacted a little bit with Cuban vessels, you know, people are on high alert and people have, you know, people are manning their weapons when you have these kinds of encounters.
The Cubans are saying that they did not initiate fire.
They were just doing a normal, informational, like say, hey, you're a mile off our coast.
Who are you?
And what are you doing here?
If they were fishing, they would have waved their fishing boat, their fishing rods or something.
Obviously, I have the same information I just told you.
I have no new insight.
But These incidents at sea can be very, very tense.
And you have people, before you even approach this vessel, people would be armed up.
They would be locked and cocked, ready to go in case something went down, Steve.
And if you can go back to your contacts in the White House and see if we can't dig anything else up, this is quite unusual, particularly given the Tinder box in Ukraine, the Tinder box in Gaza, the Tinderbox the president's dealing with in Iran, the Tinder box in Venezuela.
I mean, we got enough Tinder boxes.
I'm not sure we need another one.
And so I think that if there's information forthcoming, we'd love to have you dig it out before we turn it over at six o'clock.
So I'll let you go, okay?
Dr. Thayer, where can people keep up on your social media if you're posting stuff on this?
I think people ought to be aware of this, that just like in Gaza, just like in Iran, just like in Ukraine, these are not going to all be easy situations.
And these Cubans got a lot of hotheads down there.
And as you saw today, they're not beyond lighting people up and opening it up on people.
So at least what we know is four dead, six wounded.
And as soon as we get more information, we'll report.
Many of most illegal aliens do not speak English and cannot read even the most basic road signs as to direction, speed, danger, or location.
That's why tonight I'm calling on Congress to pass what we will call the Delilah law barring any state from granting commercial driver's licenses to illegal aliens.
You know, I always tell people in my prayer group and my prayer warriors that God's miracles usually show up after an act of love.
And what we saw last night was we saw President Trump loving on a little girl, loving on a little girl that didn't deserve to be in that accident, an accident that could have been avoided and could have been prevented had our legislators and our federal agencies been putting safety first and putting our people first instead of politics.
And so just a beautiful moment.
And I know that God was in it because so many people have been praying for an answer, an answer to the public safety crisis that we have, the national security crisis that we have, but also the devastation that's taken place in the trucking industry as all of these illegal immigrants have come in here and replaced all of our hardworking, safe American truck drivers.
And now with that declaration that the president made last night of his support for Delilah's law, I think for the first time, you're seeing a smile on this guy's face as I'm seeing God really move in this moment.
And I know that he's going to continue to answer these prayers.
And we're going to get this bill across the Senate and over to the House and get the President's signature and put an end to this madness.
And Lance and I are going to talk about that in a moment.
What would your advice be to the president to make sure that this is as good as we can get for right now, that this takes care of the problem that you guys have identified?
So, you know, one of the things that we've been really shouting about is the fact that we haven't had revocation of the non-domiciles.
There's been some legislators that have come forward with legislation to stop the issuance.
Even the interim ruling that Duffy came up with, we're grateful for that.
We think it's great that we stop issuing them.
But we know there's hundreds of thousands of these illegal aliens that have received these non-domiciled CDLs.
So it's important that we revoke all of the ones that we know were improperly and illegally issued to drivers who weren't vetted, qualified, or trained.
And so making sure that there's a process for revocation.
Senator our senator from Indiana, Jim Banks, just announced that he filed the Delilah bill on the Senate floor today, which includes the revocation of the non-domicile CDLs issued to illegal aliens.
So this isn't just the stopping of the issuance.
They plan to revoke the licenses.
And then we need to have an enforcement mechanism on the highways to make sure this never happens again.
And so I would encourage language that includes 287G enforcement.
Most people would be surprised that our law enforcement officers don't ask truck drivers immigration questions.
I think that's because we're typically a high trust society and everybody assumed that all the truck drivers were citizens.
But now that we know that that hasn't been the case for the last five years because of the Biden administration, we need to have a checks and balances in place so that this doesn't happen again.
And if it begins to happen again, that we can catch it quickly before lives are impacted.
And pointing out Erica Kirk and the assassination of her courageous husband and trying to remind everybody about how dangerous this is when you're on the front lines of a conservative movement, you become a target to the violent left.
His speech was brilliant because it was classic Trumpian reframing of he had to check several boxes.
He wants to get ahead of the economy issue and it's for the average American, it's not helping.
And then he drops this, oh, how about $1,000 for all your kids?
How's that?
And the fact that the AI is going to be paid for by the company is going to decrease your election.
The guy's like a genius in so many ways.
What I find counterproductive, and we have to be able to look at this on the Monday morning, you know, when we're looking at this stuff, the reality is he does such a good job of embarrassing his adversaries that all he does is stoke them up into an inferno of rage in terms of getting against him.
They don't have a policy.
They don't have a single good policy.
Trump picked all the 70, 30, 80, 20 issues that America could agree with, but they just hate him.
And they will be more maniacally focused on removing him from power than I fear our side is maniacally focused on keeping him in office.
And I think to a great extent, that's because his style is to celebrate his victories.
We're winning, winning, winning.
There's about 40 or 50 million Christians, maybe 30 million that vote in these elections who have a slightly different value system.
And they want the winning.
They want America's prestige.
We're all interested in economic development.
But the moral threat, the evil of what the left is doing, the danger of what they imply in terms of the cultural and institutional takeover of America and the draconian future that they bring with them has to be articulated because we've got a base that isn't as energized as our opposition.
I went to the White House on one of those trips, you know, and I was with 20 or 30 influential evangelical leaders and we got a chance, you know, go say hi to the president.
It was a great, always a great experience to do that.
And when it was over, I asked one really sharp consultant there who works with Christians.
And I said, how do you think the midterms are going to go?
And he said, ha, what do you think?
It'll be a bloodbath.
I said, why?
He said, look around you.
And I looked.
I wasn't quite sure what he wanted me to look at.
I said, yeah, I see a whole lot of guys that are really getting along with each other and happy to be there at the White House.
He said, do you see focused desperation?
Do you see determination?
He said, you see all the scattered energy of a happy people that don't understand.
Our opposition is ready to crawl on glass to get into power.
And we are not ready for it.
If we don't refocus within 90 days, it is going to be a bloodbath.
And when he said that to me, Steve, I knew I was hearing the voice that I needed to hear because the framing of this battle, you did it so well during the period that we were trying to make sense of Trump's time, as you said, like the line in winter in Mar-a-Lago.
But you framed it interesting.
You said it's a fourth turning.
Then you brought out the Neal and Howe research on how history in America goes through crucibles.
And Donald Trump is a providential instrument that I believe is the answer to the prayers of people who didn't even know that he would be as good as he is.
And in America's history, we've gone through the crucible or a fourth turning.
It started with our founding with Washington, a providential leader.
But what preceded that was a great awakening.
And you have to understand that because Whitfield had re-educated the colonies to reject foreign, reject hierarchy, because he was a street preacher and he had 20,000 people at a time.
And he mocked the institutional church that didn't embrace the awakening.
And he built a kind of disposition in the colonists that was anti-control from elite structures, which is kind of our rebellious DNA.
When Lincoln came along, he was another providential answer to prayer.
And when he emerged in unlikely circumstances, unpopular as he was, he was able to guide us to such a point that in retrospect, we see him as God's divine instrument.
But we had a second great awakening.
It prepared the abolitionist sentiment that emboldened the North to be able to fight for a cause that was bigger than a political victory or even the defeat of the South.
Slavery became the issue.
That was the unique contribution of the Second Great Awakening.
We are in a crisis now where Donald Trump, in my opinion, I said this before he was president, I prophesied in my own charismatic community, I said, that's the man God chose.
He'll be like Samson.
He will club Philistines.
And he'll also have a little bit of Torrid history with some Philistine babes.
But we're going to have to overlook that because God's got a hand on him.
And Trump has proven to be the greatest Christian advocate that's ever been in office, although a lot of people question if he even is one.
So my challenge is when he's talking about the victories, he's infuriating the left.
We're looking and nodding, those of us that watch presidential politics and saying he's really boxing him in.
But when it comes down to mobilizing the base, if we do not frame a more articulate argument about the nature of the evil we are up against and how it's embodied in institutions through a political force, if we don't do that, then the 40 million of folks that are like, I'm afraid that are similar to me, that don't follow these things closely, won't feel as though there's a consequence attached to not preserving this.
We're in a revolutionary moment.
Trump is a counterrevolutionary.
He has moved into media, academia, corporate business structures, politics, championed the family and released the church.
So we saw a poll last week where Jim Kingston and I were in the 20s and all the other candidates, about five are in the single digits.
So my race is going great, but Jim's raised 1.6 million and I've raised 100,000.
So I definitely had the people with me and they're sick of the establishment.
We have to get a fighter in that seat and somebody that's not going to go up there to enrich themselves.
And I'm the girl for the job and I'm going to go support the policy, get it pushed through.
I have a PhD in relationships, Steve, and I'm going to go make relationships with these Republicans and put their feet to the fire and we're going to get the job done for President Trump.
Candace, how can this is the same thing the grassroots see down here, the business establishment and the Republican, the establishment comes in and the money is so overwhelming.
I mean, Governor Abert's sitting on $100 million.
He's got a great guy going against him.
Doc Chamber's got $29,000 in the bank.
How are you going to beat Kingston when you got $100,000?
Yes, Candace Taylor on all social media platforms.
It's CandiceTaylor.com.
I need you to donate.
I need to put that commercial everywhere and show that my opponent's daddy works for a lobbyist for foreign nations, making several million dollars a year doing this, sold out to China, taking money from terrorists.
We cannot let a son of him get in the seed so that he makes deals for foreign nations.
We are America first.
And so I need you to donate.
Please go to my website, $26 to win in 2026, 50, 100, whatever you can give.
We're going to have you back on, but just so people can understand as this takeaway, you talked about the Black Road Region.
You talked about the Great Awakening, and then you have a providential figure, Washington.
You then have a Great Awakening in the years before the Civil War, and you have Lincoln arise, the fourth turning.
These figures are not terribly well known before these movements start.
I know Glenn Beck, yourself, so many others have been working on this concept of the Great Awakening here to wake people up, particularly Christians, awaken it up to where we are as a country.
Because if we mobilize the Christian base in this country, it wouldn't be any doubt of the direction of this nation.
Do you believe now that we're in this fight and it's a fight against, and I see it here in Texas.
In Texas, you've got to fight against neo-Marxist jihadists in this state that's been targeted by these people.
Can we simultaneously have a great awakening at the same time?
You have the providential figure in the fourth turning fight itself, sir?
But you put your finger on the point, really, Steve, intuitively.
And that is that the difference between America and the pulpit during the Revolutionary era or in the North during the ramping up to the Civil War was the fact that they engaged in the public place.
They actually had opinions and their sermons talked about those subjects.
I read an interesting thesis by a guy who said he studied what was preached during the Civil War because he wanted to know how pulpits actually framed that existential crisis.
In the South, the preachers preached about, curiously enough, states' rights and the sovereignty of them and the offense of the North and overreaching.
In the North, they preached about the evil of slavery and the righteousness of the cause.
The border states, curiously enough, preached, stay out of politics, just focus on the kingdom of God and non-offensive advancing of Christian ideas.
And what happened in America during the ramping up to Donald Trump was that almost all pulpits became border states.
They all wanted to go to something other than current events.
And the moment that guys like me stepped out of that box, well, we get labeled as Christian nationalists or dangerous Christian nationalists, which shows that we did not have an awakening.
We had a disengagement of the clergy from culture.
And as a result, we are now awakening and we must awaken the church, which is why what I was saying is if the president does not do as good a job of characterizing that we are in a moment of ultimate decision as to what kind of nation we're going to be, a nation of laws or a nation of lawlessness, a nation where individuals will define whether their gender is male or female?
Or is there a transcendent order that has overseen our prosperity as a nation that we must come back to and align with?
Because if we can't capture the idea that we're dealing with evil versus good, the Christian community doesn't know exactly they have issues, life or marriage.
We have a warrior that's got the weight of the world on his shoulders.
You saw that last night.
And nobody's doing the masterclass of bringing all those symbols together, being like an orchestra leader, plus being the guy that calls them out and sits there and says, calls them out right there for the world to see and the nation to see.
You've got Glendyke yourself, so many others.
There's so much talent that's been trying to do this.
That has to be somebody else, I think, that sets the overall architecture of what the moral fight is.
Trump is a leader in a fight that's a fight to the death, because as you saw last night, and I say, this gap is not bridgeable.
The two sides believe things that are fundamentally different.
And it's not going to be debated out.
And you see this in Texas.
And this is why the Democrats are down here.
This is why the jihadists are down here.
This is why the neo-Marxists are down here.
They understand it.
They're not out here making a case about it.
They're here for political muscle.
One side's going to win and one side's going to lose.
So how do we simultaneously, what's your recommendation now?
Christianity, what's the thing that we can do to get the awakening of just the Christian element in this and understand you have to go to the ramparts or it's over?
Well, they've thrown it at us in order to create that fear in the pulpits that, oh, don't become one of those guys wearing those reflective sunglasses.
It's out there with the neo-Nazis.
And there we are.
It's a couple of humble Christian patriots out here just trying to schlep around and save America.
President Trump's coming out and he's making a special trip out here.
He understands how important it is.
I also want to tee it up that particularly some of President Trump's most fervent allies, some of our greatest patriots out here as we met, are just not into early voting.
They have a whole host of reasons.
They don't want their data taken.
They don't want the Democrats to know what they got to beat, but they're not into it.
That being said, we got a minute here and we'll hold you through the break.
Some of these numbers are kind of shocking, are they not?
Okay, if you hadn't noticed, President Trump's kind of busy.
He's redoing his entire schedule to come down to Corpus Christi, Texas, because of the emphasis on South Texas and obviously Rio Grande Valley, all the great victories we had there.
That's because people have sent up a flare here from Texas.
The reason we came down here, I knew there was something up when I got down here, is much more serious than I originally thought.
They're highly focused on taking Texas.
Now, they've put hundreds of millions of dollars to source over the years and haven't worked, but this is a different energy because now between the Working Family Party and DSA, they've got a ground game.
They've kind of replicated with the Trump movement, the MAGA movement, the precinct strategy.
Okay, on the state level, it's about 140,000 more Democrat voters.
You can see that in the maps up there.
And every day it just keeps increasing.
So they're just really motivated.
I think the Republicans are really complacent.
Maybe there's not that energy, or maybe they're confused, or maybe they are confused about the primary candidates because there has been a lot of negative campaigning going on.
But people said, well, the Democrats have a competitive thing.
I said, well, hold it.
There's $100 million being spent in the Republican.
The Republican Senate race is one of the, I think, the biggest primary in the history of the Republican Party between Paxton Hunt and Cornyn.
Corny has spent $100 million.
The rest don't have any money.
The AG's race here is now that you've got two massive races in the state.
So when people say that, I go, well, hang on for a second.
I know the Democrats got something they never had, but the Republicans have this huge race too, which has energized people, but not at the scale, given the national issues that the Democrats believe right now they're going to stop Trump and they're going to stop Trump in Texas.
We've been supporting a lot of organizations for many, many years.
We give away a million, over millions of dollars, millions of dollars every year to organizations, but it's more than that.
You know, just giving funds to folks is just a little bit of it.
But when you get organizations to work together, you actually magnify those donations or those contributions because now what we need is more people working together to basically support each other's efforts.
And in this particular year, to get more people out to vote.
So I think that's what makes us a little bit unique because we are a trusted entity that has no ulterior motives other than to keep the company or keep the country red because Republicans love the Constitution and they love their freedoms.
And that's what we're all about, to preserve our God-given rights and freedoms.
The best phone service out there, 972 Patriot and Patriot Mobile, and what they do for folks, it's a Christian company with Christian values, but it's not, it's a church militant.
You guys are fighters.
That's why I was Glenn Story's a fighter.
And Jenny, you're the rock of Gibraltar here.
So I want to thank you for everything.
And particularly, hey, facing up to the reality check.
The president of these United States coming out here on Friday because he's out here to he's out here to fire people up, particularly down in South Texas.
