Breaking news into CNN. Just moments ago, posted to social media, President-elect Donald Trump has nominated his pick for Attorney General, and that is Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, a Republican firebrand, a lightning rod for controversy.
These confirmation hearings are going to be intense, to say the least.
We just got a little bit of breaking news.
Matt Gaetz As Attorney General, that's who Donald Trump is nominating or trying to nominate for Attorney General, Matt Gaetz.
If you thought Pete Hegseth was surprising, Matt Gaetz.
Well, that'll knock you right off your feet.
I've gotten two different texts from different people at the Justice Department who just used the word insane to respond and react to this potential appointment.
And then also questioning whether Matt Gaetz can be confirmed.
And one person asked me to research whether anyone had ever been nominated for the post of Attorney General who had been investigated by the Justice Department.
We'll have to look into that, but my initial reading is that I can't think of any time that's ever happened in American history.
of the most prominent people of the Department of Justice, all selected by Donald Trump saying they cannot do this.
And so what I see with these announcements is a real blow to the independence of the Department of Justice, the independence of the intelligence community.
And that is, you know, to put a fine point on it, if this were to come about, that is a blow to any check that they could pose to the president and an undermining of the rule of law in this country that is so fundamental that it really takes us one step closer to countries that we heretofore have viewed as enemies of a democracy.

D.C. today bracing for the return of Donald Trump to the presidency.
Within the last hour, Trump making clear just what kind of presidency he had in mind all along by naming Congressman Matt Gaetz as his choice to be the country's attorney general.
Trump making that news in a social media post by saying that Gates will, quote, end weaponized government, which is in and of itself a delusion of the far right.
It is yet another sign, though, that Donald Trump is rewarding loyalty this time above everything else as he builds a new cabinet.
Since Gates was all in on Donald Trump's attempt to overturn the 2020 election.
In fact, he was so concerned about his criminal exposure that he asked Donald Trump for a pardon in the last days of Trump's first presidency.
Gates was also under investigation for sex trafficking as recently as 2023.
He will now lead the department that once investigated him should he be confirmed.
unidentified
Of the legal...
Is that Kate's a lawyer?
He's not a lawyer.
He is a lawyer.
And he was briefly in private practice before he was elected to Congress.
However, I'm sorry, before he was elected to the Florida House, where he served some time before he joined Congress.
Do you need to be a lawyer to be AG? I believe that you should be a lawyer to be the Attorney General.
But Katie, this is a really stunning announcement because when I think about various people in Trump world who are floated as possible Attorney Generals, All of them are people who had serious legal credentials as well as fidelity to Donald Trump.
And I want to be clear about that because when we talk about the Mark Pailettas of the world or Mike Davises or even someone like Todd Blanche who has recently served as Donald Trump's personal attorney, all of them had experience, if not in the executive branch itself, in or around the Department of Justice, the Supreme Court, And in Congress, that would have allowed them to serve that role.
Matt Gaetz, on the other hand, has never served as a prosecutor.
He was only briefly in private practice, but what he has been is one of the fiercest defenders that Donald Trump has had.
Throughout his original presidency and on through the future.
But this kind of appointment is really striking fear and trepidation in the hearts of the career civil servants over there because what they revere above all is respect for the law and procedure and norms.
And look, we can't prejudge.
I mean, Matt Gaetz may become a different person if he gets confirmed as attorney general.
But what he's shown so far as a member of Congress is disdain for the Department of Justice.
Yeah, and Donald Trump was going to become a different person when he got the White House in 2016.
steve bannon
This is the primal scream of a dying regime.
unidentified
Pray for our enemies, because we're going medieval on these people.
steve bannon
I got a free shot of all these networks lying about the people.
The people have had a belly full of it.
I know you don't like hearing that.
I know you've tried to do everything in the world to stop that, but you're not going to stop it.
It's going to happen.
jake tapper
And where do people like that go to share the big lie?
unidentified
MAGA Media.
jake tapper
I wish in my soul, I wish that any of these people had a conscience.
unidentified
Ask yourself, what is my task and what is my purpose?
steve bannon
If that answer is to save my country, this country will be saved.
unidentified
War Room.
Here's your host, Stephen K. Vance.
steve bannon
Wednesday, 13 November, New Year of Our Lord, 2024.
for There are days that what we do here at the War Room is just so amazingly enjoyable that the feeling you get and the buzz you get is incredible.
One of the, in this, you know, I was going to start with Thune won in the dead hand of McConnell and all that, and President Trump, once again, what a rock star.
He just, so Thune promised him some recess days, but promised him we'll stay here every day.
We will get every one of his nominations through.
And he gives the biggest, I guess, F you.
Okay, here you go, bro.
Here you go.
Start with Matt Gaetz, my new Attorney General.
Matt Gaetz is the fiercest of the fierce warriors.
He is the firebrand of firebrands.
Matt Gaetz single-handedly conceived of, in this very building, the Breitbart Embassy, conceived of The exact strategy and tactics and execution to take down a sitting speaker.
First off, to hogtie a sitting speaker of the House for the first time ever and to do it in January 23 with McCarthy and then to take him out.
Nine months later after he had lied to everybody.
That's the kind of individual Matt Gaetz is.
Brilliant, determined, focused, relentless.
That's what President Trump wanted.
When you see with Weissman, by the way, Weissman, bro, you are going to prison for so long.
It's going to be so enjoyable.
All of the everything that you guys did, everything you've done for years, starting back with Comey, Weissman.
And I got to tell you, Weissman, I found out a lot about you when I was in federal prison.
You were going to have a very tough ride there, bro.
You're going to have a very tough ride there.
Yep.
You see, Weissman, the shock inside this city, I can't describe it.
I kind of knew it.
That's why I said, and I told some people, hey, there's one that's going to make Pete Hegseth look like General Grant.
This thing, and President Trump did it, and it did it before I think anybody expected.
He'd been mulling this over for many days.
And the people that worked on this to keep it secret were absolutely amazing.
I think they actually talked in code.
But...
President Trump is just thrown down against the apparatus.
He said, okay, yep.
And he gave you a couple of conventional picks out of the box.
There's a couple of conventional picks in it.
Marco Rubio, Senator Rubio being one of those.
Although Senator Rubio is as anti-CCP as you can get in this city.
Not war room level, but pretty, pretty, pretty hard.
And they got some neocon tendencies.
I think President Trump will take care of that.
So a couple of conventional picks there, but man, the unconventional ones, Tulsi Gabbard at D&I, all of...
And hey, when Matt Gaetz was announced, Hegseth and Gabbard, there'll be one-hour confirmation hearings.
Stamp, good.
Process, good.
Move on.
Give him a stamp.
I cannot tell you...
It's hard to describe how this has hit the city like an airburst.
And here's the reason.
Matt Gaetz does not play games.
Matt Gaetz, with a handful of rebels, and not even President Trump on our side, and Fox News adamantly against us, adamantly opposed us, that's the way you never see Gaetz on Fox, took down a sitting Speaker of the House for the first time in the history of this republic.
Let me repeat that, the first time in the history of this republic.
You think he's a tough fighter?
You think he's smart?
You think he's both strategic and tactical?
What do you think he will do to the deep state?
He's a firebrand.
He hits like a blowtorch, but he's got a brain and ability to think on his feet and speak on his feet.
That's very rare.
Look how few people in this town have that.
I'm honored he's been the co-host here.
He's been the host here.
He's been one of our biggest contributors over the years.
And when we had to get into the fight, he was on every day.
And he was blocked by so much other media, including Fox News.
They essentially blocked him.
I also think this shows you the demise of Fox News.
They had up there, we'll play a clip later, Trey Gowdy trashing him.
By the way, Trey Gowdy, before you trash Matt Gaetz, let me just ask, inquiring minds want to know, I'm asking for a friend.
Why did you leave so quickly?
And why didn't you go to, you know, be a prosecutor or U.S. attorney or go to a big law firm or get a big payday, go to a big law firm?
Why?
People want to know why you left so quickly.
I've heard a lot of rumors, but we don't traffic in rumors here.
I'd like you to come forward and just tell people, why'd you leave?
People like to know.
And I think, Trey Gowdy, before you start coming to Matt Gaetz, understand A lot of people don't like you.
You were a traitor in the House Intelligence Committee.
When they remove...
When Ryan, who's on the board at Fox, removed Devin Nunez and you took over and you basically work with Swalwell and Shifty Schiff.
Yes, you.
I was there.
I was there for, what, 20 hours being grilled?
Uh-huh.
Cost me a fortune.
I had Bill Burke and Alex Spiro.
Two great lawyers.
And you're coming after Gates?
Hey, Matt Gates is going to get confirmed.
Do you know why Matt Gates is going to get confirmed?
Because Donald John Trump...
Who's soon to be the 47th President of the United States, wants him as his Attorney General.
Look at that.
Look at the thing he put on True Social.
President Trump has thought this through.
He's going to hit the Department of Justice with a blowtorch.
And that blowtorch is a guy named Matt Gaetz.
This is called Game On.
I've talked about deconstructing the administrative state and taking on the deep state.
Well, hey, game on.
You've got Tulsi Gabbard at DNI. You've got Matt Gaetz at Justice.
You've got Bill McGinley.
You have Stephen Miller.
You have some hammer.
Pete Hexeth, you have some hammers.
Yeah, Pete Hexeth's never run a big organization, and that's the most complicated.
You've got to put some people around Pete.
There's no doubt about that.
Pete will want that.
He'll need that.
There's a lot of good people out there.
You can do that.
unidentified
But Pete's a leader.
steve bannon
He's kind of a madman, but hey, you need that.
In this situation, you need that.
You need that.
So they're all in meltdown.
You all see their face.
Andrew Weissman is about to cry.
Because Andrew Weissman understands the next five years of his life, his legal bills, because of what he's done to this country.
And Weissman and people like it.
McCabe, I think you were right.
If we can pull that clip so I can play it later.
McCabe, remember on CNN saying, I'm going to leave the country and kind of starting to cry?
He wasn't crying when he was the big shot trying to run people down, right?
Coming over, getting on me, getting on Trump, getting on people.
Big shot then.
Not so tough now.
Your voice was quaking.
Well, yo, yo, we got Matt Gaetz now.
So, McCabe, hey, I don't know.
It's a free country or a quasi-free country.
You're a free man.
You can do what you want.
Maybe now it's time to get on that plane and go to that country we don't have an extradition treaty with.
I think there's going to be a big American colony.
I'll pick a random country.
unidentified
UAE. Dubai.
steve bannon
Right?
They're all going to hang out in Dubai.
I think there's going to be a big American colony there.
Incredible.
Matt Gaetz has been nominated as the Attorney General of the United States of America by the 47th President of the United States, President Trump.
Folks, this long, tough struggle in President Trump's hero's journey and your hero's journey This is what winning feels like.
Because we got a long, tough fight ahead of us.
But man, you put down in the trenches with us, Gates, Hegseth, Tulsi, Bill McGinley, Stephen Miller, and there's more going to be coming.
We are about to change this country for the better.
And it is such an incredibly historic day.
This day would not have been without you.
unidentified
So embrace the change you have brought.
steve bannon
Short commercial break.
American Heart will take us out and we will be back in just a moment.
unidentified
So I suggest you take a look inside Because I think you've changed already You've got to think about this guy.
markwayne mullin
This is a guy that the media didn't give a time of day to after he was accused of sleeping with an underage girl.
There's a reason why no one in the conference came and defended him because we had all seen the videos he was showing on the house floor that all of us had walked away of the girls that he had slept with.
He'd brag about how he would crush ED medicine and chase it with an energy drink so he could go all night.
This is obviously before you got married.
And so when that accusation came out, no one defended him and then no one on the media would give him a time of the day.
All of a sudden he found fame because he opposed The Speaker of the House, back in November, and he's always stayed there.
And he was never going to leave until he got this last moment of fame by going after a motion to vacate.
unidentified
It's important to know Congressman Gaetz has never been charged with any sex trafficking crime and he gave this statement to CNN in response.
I don't think Mark Wayne Mullen and I have said 20 words to each other on the House floor.
This is a lie from someone who doesn't know me and who's coping with the death of the political career of his friend Kevin.
Thoughts and prayers.
Are you going to vote for Matt Gaetz?
markwayne mullin
You know, Matt Gaetz and I, there's no question that we've had our differences.
They've been very public about it.
I completely trust President Trump's decision-making on this one.
But at the same time, he's got to come to Congress and sell himself.
There's a lot of, or to the Senate and sell himself.
There's a lot of questions that are going to be out there.
He's got to answer those questions.
And hopefully he's able to answer the questions right.
And if he can, then we'll go through the confirmation process.
jake tapper
Senator Mark Wayne Mullen from the great state of Oklahoma, good to see you, sir.
markwayne mullin
Thanks so much for being here.
unidentified
I really appreciate it.
steve bannon
Wow.
unidentified
Wow.
steve bannon
Mark Wayne Mullen, you've got to remember, Mark Wayne Mullen, Kung Fu fighter from Oklahoma, he was McCarthy's bestie.
And he was crushed when we crushed.
Remember that quote?
No one in media would give him the time of day to put him on.
Yo, bro, I take it you're not a war room watcher.
Of course, Fox wouldn't.
If you're watching Fox TV for stupid people, yeah, you wouldn't see Gates.
Gates was banned.
Gates was banned.
He was banned.
But Gates took down a sitting Speaker of the House.
And remember, President Trump, that was not President Trump's fight.
Didn't want to have anything to do with it.
Kind of like Kevin.
We had different ideas of what had to happen.
But it was fine.
He kind of gave us room to maneuver.
Maybe jumped in and up and gave us room to maneuver.
But he knows that Gates is his fiercest defender and his most brilliant defender, as he has ever.
And today, Matt Gaetz has been nominated to be Attorney General of the United States of America.
And let me be brutally frank about it.
And Wayne Mullen, thank God, and very gentlemanly goes on, said those other things before.
But Matt Gaetz has been exonerated by the FBI and the DOJ. Never charged.
It was dropped.
A lot of rumors and a lot of things were spread to try to destroy Matt Gaetz and to try to destroy Matt Gaetz's wife.
Ginger, a great person.
But Mark Wayne Mullins right there, hot take.
He said, hey, it's President Trump's.
He said, Matt's got to come up and sell himself.
And Senator Mark Wayne Mullins, I agree with you a thousand percent.
Matt, Congressman Gates is going to have to go there and he's going to have to make the case.
Now, he can make the case, but he's...
One thing Matt is not shy about is putting forward his case.
And Mark Wayne Mullen said this quite out loud.
This is President Trump.
It's a new day.
President Trump has the House, the Senate, and the executive branch.
And to be brutally frank, he's got the courts.
Yep.
This is called full-spectrum dominance.
Full-spectrum dominance in a military term.
And President Trump...
Deserves and will get the Attorney General he wants.
Like he'll get the CIA Director he wants and he'll get the DNI he wants.
It's advice and consent.
Give us your advice and then consent.
We'll take it on board.
Tell us what you think.
I got it.
Okay, fine.
Thank you very much.
Not consent.
Give me a vote.
There's somebody between two senators already said I'm not going to vote for him.
Okay.
We'll go through the secret vote for Thune in a minute, but he's put Thune on notice.
He's put Thune on notice.
Hey, you told me you would give the recess, that's how you even got to this approval today, and you committed and committed to me, that would be Trump, that they will take as much time as possible, do as much as possible, stay in as possible, and confirm his nominees.
I'm going to need a clock here, brother.
Thank you, sir.
I'm always better with the clock because I'll keep talking forever on this.
I'm all worked up.
You can tell I'm all worked up.
And I got Caroline Wren's going to come here.
And Darren Beattie's going to come here.
People have been in this fight down in the trenches with us and know what reality is and know what the confirmation's got to be and what's going to happen.
Let me repeat this.
Matt Gaetz, the Matt Gaetz, the firebrand, has been nominated by President Trump to Attorney General and given a mandate according to President Trump's truth.
And if the guys in Denver can get a chance to put his truth social post up, because it's kind of lengthy.
It's actually, truth takes a big, you know, you can get a big old statement on truth.
This one takes, I think, a couple of truths.
Because this one was a truth to power.
This is a city of lawyers.
And, like, the Constitution's a contract.
The Constitution's a contract at the end of the day.
It's a, in M&A terms, it's a merger of equals among unequal entities, and that's you had to have trade-offs and balances of powers and checks and balances.
It's all laid out there, the Constitution.
That's been around for, what, 235 years?
And served us so well.
In the Constitution, right, The Senate is kind of the Human Resources Department, so they get to have a vote, they get to have a say-so, and we appreciate that.
But President Trump's got a team, he's thought this through, and he gave Gates a mandate.
President Trump got a mandate from the American people.
This is exactly what Lincoln argued in the Executive Order of the Emancipation Proclamation.
What he said is that I put the Emancipation Proclamation out there as an executive order.
And I gave the people two years to think about it and they re-elected me.
This is Lincoln.
Therefore, I need the amendment to the Constitution because I put the executive order out there.
I freed the slaves in the areas under rebellion because that's what my lawyers and we worked through as an executive order.
The White House counsel and the Attorney General worked through as what he could do at the time.
And he then said, but I allowed the time for the people to chew on it, let it sink in, and think about it, and the American people voted.
That's what happened here.
That's the exact analogy here.
They have President Trump with 92, I don't know, felonies.
They've indicted him how many times?
They've done the show trials in New York.
They tried it in Georgia.
Tried to do a show trial, but they had a whole show trial.
He's supposed to be sentenced on the 26th.
Of 34 felonies.
I used to sit there in Danbury and say, hey, I want to show hands.
How many people here have more felonies than the guy that's running for President Trump?
You know how many hands went up?
Zero.
None.
None.
In a federal prison.
None.
The American people weighed and measured this.
It was what essentially they ran on.
He's not a Democrat.
He's a dictator.
He's an authoritarian.
He's Caesar.
Kagan wrote it in the Washington Post, all over.
This is what got the assassination attempts going.
The American people could weigh and measure.
And they weighed and measured.
And the great common sense and wisdom of the American people, yes, the American people that fought a revolution after weighing and measuring, thinking about it for decades, The American people then came together after the war and after thinking about it and having the Constitution, having it going around different parts of the country and the colonies and voting on it, weighing and measuring it.
In the Civil War, all the lead-up in the 1840s and the 1850s, getting more violent, more radical people talking about it, beating each other up here and hitting them with canes, caning people on the floor of the Senate.
John Brown, you know, potential slave revolts, all of it.
Bloody Kansas leading up, getting more intense, more bloody.
American people waited and measured it.
Finally, South Carolina pulled the trigger.
American people said, no, we back Lincoln.
We got to put this down for the Union.
And then two years later, it says, it's got to be for more than a Union.
We have to eradicate human bondage in this republic.
We have to do it from 1863 to 1863.
Or from January 1863, but after Antietam, the American people weighed and measured it.
And Lincoln said that.
He says, I put the Emancipation Proclamation out there, and I let the American people, I let it settle.
I let them think about it.
And then they voted.
And they basically voted Lincoln back in on what was equivalent to a landslide for him.
And the army is what did it.
The people on the battlefield are the ones that drove him over the top.
That's what Trump did.
Trump, four years ago, didn't have to do any of this.
He came back.
And what did they do?
They tried to strip him of his property and his business, and then they indicted him, and they went after him day after day after day.
And Andrew Weissman, all of you, and Katie Turr, and Nicole Wallace, and all MSNBC, every day, Donald Trump's a dictator.
Donald Trump's authoritarian.
Donald Trump's a criminal, a common criminal.
And what did Trump do?
He took it to the American people.
And the American people weighed and measured it and thought about it.
And what did they do?
They returned him in a landslide that he takes both other parts of the government.
He holds the House and takes the Senate.
That's what they thought.
And brings in working class blacks, working class Hispanics, Muslims in Michigan.
They saw they were inundated with it and they thought about it.
And they rendered a verdict.
Trump's verdict was Tuesday a week ago.
And that verdict was that we back him.
And so now political class, now globalist, has nothing to do with vengeance whatsoever.
The American people have mandated this.
The American people want this set right.
And the way you set it right, You need instrumentality.
President Trump's an instrument of the American people.
And Matt Gaetz is President Trump's instrument.
And coming to the imperial capital, you're going to set things right.
Short commercial break.
Darren Beattie and Caroline Wren on the other side.
unidentified
Here's your host, Stephen K. Van.
steve bannon
Did I ever mention times of turbulence?
Oh my lord, oh my lord, this city.
Things will never be the same when we get this team in place.
It's a new day.
You work on this audience you've been here for, what, five years now?
The work you've done, the victory you made possible.
The hard work in being there for some battles that looked impossible.
Like I said, it's just starting, but man, it's going to be impressive.
I got two of the people that are closest to the war room, the great Darren Beattie from Revolver and Caroline Wren.
Caroline, we'll start with you.
Let me get Darren in here a second.
Caroline, put this in perspective.
What has happened really over the last 72 hours coming out of Mar-a-Lago, the winter White House with President Trump, epitomized by the announcement today of Matt Gaetz as Attorney General?
caroline wren
Oh, it's just, it is huge.
This is the biggest, it was a kind of a surprise for everyone, but it is so important that they just did this.
And I love all these media types talking right now about the Senate confirmation hearings are gonna be a problem for him.
People need to understand the Senate confirmation hearings alone might bring down the DOJ. Because remember, the FBI and DOJ, they tried to frame Matt Gaetz.
The DOJ tried to extort And then the DOJ completely exonerated Matt Gaetz without putting out the evidence that exonerated him.
That's the evidence that's going to come out in his DOJ hearing.
So the hearing alone literally will shake up and bring down that agency.
steve bannon
Just absolutely amazing.
Darren Beattie, your first thoughts when you heard this.
You've been in the trenches like Caroline with Brother Gaetz for many, many years.
darren j beattie
I couldn't believe it.
It was such great news.
This is the most important position, and he picked the absolute best guy.
That's all you need to say about these appointments.
The most important position, he picked the best guy.
So I think this bodes very well for the future.
steve bannon
Why is he, Darren, why is this the most important, and why is he the best guy for the most important?
darren j beattie
Great question.
Well, it's the most important because the DOJ is at the center of this very dark theme that really intensified in the Biden administration, which was the weaponization of our government politically in order to go after Trump supporters.
There's the national security element, but then there's the corruption of law and order itself in this country, resulting in a lot of very good people being charged with crimes, being convicted of political crimes, even being put in prison, as you know, for nothing.
That has to stop and the place that stops is at the DOJ. That is the The stinkiest, the slimiest, the most disgusting part of the swamp, and it is what needs to be drained in order to restore law and order in the country.
Gates is not only a lawyer, not only understands that agency, it's not only a MAGA stalwart, a Trump firebrand from the very beginning, but he himself has been at the receiving end of that very kind of persecution.
So what better person to embody all the things that you need to correct an agency like that, to bring it to heel and have the nation heel as law and order is restored in the country rather than the corruption of justice that we've seen under the Biden, really Biden-Harris administration.
The DOJ needs to be cleaned out and hopefully we can have someone clean out the DHS as well.
steve bannon
Very powerful, Darren Beattie, to bring it to heel and then let the nation heel.
So, Caroline, how do we actually do that?
How do you actually...
The confirmation process and the Democrats, you know, get Murphy up there.
They're already setting him for a battle here.
You've got a lot of weak-willed Republicans.
And, of course, today, you know, the dead hand of McConnell still controls the Senate through John Thune.
So walk me through...
The kind of communication strategy and messaging you have to put forward to make sure that Matt Gaetz sails through confirmation.
caroline wren
Well, I do think you can afford to lose three, and then you have J.D. Vance as a tie vote.
But again, I think this confirmation hearing is gonna be critical because this is the same DOJ that exonerated Matt Gaetz.
The evidence that they're claiming they're gonna put out in this confirmation hearing to try and bring him down is actually what is going to expose how corrupt that they are.
And Matt Gaetz is brilliant.
He's constantly underestimated.
He's playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers.
And so Matt Gaetz knows all these Supposed that things come out in the confirmation hearings.
And so I'm sure if I'm back, Gates, I'm excited about it to go through that process.
I actually predict, some people are misquoting right now.
I saw a lot on Twitter that Susan Collins has already come out as a no.
She said she was shocked about the nomination.
I'm sure that she is.
And she said, sure, she'll have many more questions, but she has not come out as a firm.
No, he's gonna go through this process.
And I actually predict that he doesn't lose.
I mean, maybe you lose Murkowski just because she just can't stand Donald Trump.
But Matt Gaetz is a master, master chess player here.
He is going to be so impressive in these confirmation hearings.
And then I just cannot wait to see what he does at the DOJ. You know, I was quietly rooting for Mike Davis, but I'd say this is a pretty damn good alternative to it.
I hope that Matt gives Mike the Viceroy position that we all know that he deserves.
But I cannot wait to watch him just dominate the Senate.
steve bannon
By the way, in the cold open, we had Ruben from NBC News, their chief legal correspondent.
She actually pitched Mike Davis and Mark Paoletta as guys that can get confirmed.
She actually said no.
This is what Matt Gaetz does to people.
This is how you move the...
You don't move the Overton window.
You shatter the Overton window.
She sat there, and she's obviously a left-winger, but she's pretty reasonable.
She said, oh, you know, Mike Davis, guys like Mark Davis, Mark Paoletta, worked inside the system for years.
They could be confirmed.
But Matt Gaetz, Pete Heggs, like I said, he makes him look like General Grant.
So he's in.
Tulsi's in.
Gaetz will get in.
But, Darren, go back, because this is your...
Darren, you have been...
You and Rahim have done this job of color revolutions and the deep state and what's going on with Benz and other people.
Put in perspective, how important is this to have a guy like Gates who under...
This is in his bone, the marrow of his bones, he understands this, right?
How important is this to have a warrior, a fighter, someone who's had his back against the wall?
He came here to this building the day he found out about the FBI investigation.
We had a long...
We sat down for several hours.
And as someone that they've come after too, hey, when they come after you, that first couple of hours, it's a gut check.
It's a pretty lonely feeling.
This is a hero.
They tried to destroy him.
Destroy him.
To send him to prison for many decades.
He fought through that.
He didn't quit.
He didn't surrender.
He didn't run away.
He didn't cut a deal.
He stood on principle.
How important is it to go after the deep state?
Because here's not administrative state.
This is deep state work.
This is wet work.
How important is it to have a guy like Gates at this moment in time and for President Trump to send a signal, because people are saying it looks like a bunch of conventional Republicans.
Boom!
For President Trump to actually make him his Attorney General.
darren j beattie
Yep.
It's an indispensable element to a successful second term.
It's an indispensable element to the deep cleaning of the system that our country needs in order to be set right.
In order to genuinely reshape things in such a way that our country is on a positive trajectory as we move through this century.
It simply has to happen.
The DOJ needs to be cleaned up and the rest of the national security apparatus needs to be cleaned up.
But the DOJ strikes even closer to the heart of the corruption because it's one thing we already kind of know the CIA is going to be corrupt.
That's their job and, you know, same thing more or less with a lot of these kind of intelligence world organizations.
But the DOJ is so central to this concept of law and order that Americans, according to our self-conception, think of as, you know, a distinguishing feature of the United States.
That's what makes us a free country as opposed to others.
And so the fact that that very concept of law and order, blind justice, not perverting the criminal system, that's what puts us in banana boat territory.
Even more so than You know, the CIA doing, you know, crazy stuff that it's been doing and the DHS and some of these others, that's very dangerous and serious.
But the fact that the Department of Justice, that the justice system itself was so poisoned, so rotten, that's really what made a lot of people, a lot of Americans stop and think and say, we're a banana republic at this point.
When we're corrupting the justice system to, in a petty fashion, go after political enemies.
If we're on that route, we're on the route to the trash bin.
So the DOJ is the epicenter of all of this.
And we need an exceptionally capable and courageous person like Matt Gaetz.
He showed us what he's made of.
He's been through the trials.
steve bannon
Yes.
darren j beattie
He showed us what he's made of.
And there are actually very few people that really show you what they're made of.
Trump has had these moments where you can't fake it.
Either you have it or you don't.
And you show the nation that through how you behave under extreme stress and duress.
He's done that.
steve bannon
Amen.
Amazing.
Darren, how do people get to Revolver?
How are they following on social media?
darren j beattie
Revolver.news, we have a piece up advocating for Scott Besant for Treasury.
I encourage everyone to go there and read this.
This is going to be another critical appointment because Fed Chair Powell could be one of the villains coming up and trying to disrupt the agenda in this second term.
So I encourage everyone to look at that.
Revolver.news.
steve bannon
Actually, my producer may jump on you.
We may try to get you back in the second hour.
That article about Besson is so brilliant.
I may want to track you down, if not, tomorrow morning.
Darren, thank you so much for carving time out on a historic day.
I mean, we can't even get to all the news.
So much has happened today.
Caroline, you know Matt Gaetz personally, and he is one of the best examples of when I say courage is the most important of all virtues.
Because it's upon courage that all the other virtues rest.
Your thoughts on Matt Gaetz, the person and the man.
caroline wren
He is a wonderful, wonderful person.
But you're right.
He's completely unafraid.
And Matt Gaetz grew up in a very political family.
His father, Don Gaetz, is a brilliant political operator.
So Matt grew up watching this.
He knows this business.
This is why they underestimate him every time.
But Matt, when he goes after something, he gets what he wants.
And that's why this pick is so incredible.
There will be no more fiercer defender.
Of Donald Trump.
And more importantly, though, of the rights of we the people.
The DOJ has been infringing upon those rights my entire life.
And it is gonna be so refreshing to actually see someone as brilliant as Matt Gaetz fight for us and we the people and to fight back for those rights of us.
And so this is exciting.
I want to see Kevin Patel at FBI next.
And you know what?
Hey, Kevin McCarthy, how do you like them apples?
steve bannon
Kevin McCarthy goes from Chief of Staff with Jeff Miller a week ago.
No, the day after the victory.
So a week ago today.
Kevin McCarthy is on the short list.
And I mean short list.
I mean it's like between him and really Susie.
I always thought that Brooks was kind of a third.
With Jeff Miller.
Jeff Miller, the monster lobbyist, is hanging down at Mar-a-Lago for days.
He goes from that to, I don't know...
I don't know.
Maybe he's leaving the country with Weissman.
Maybe they book a condo together or an Airbnb in Ibiza or somewhere.
Caroline Rand, your social media.
I know you're going up nonstop on this.
And folks, tonight people are going to be on this thing.
It's kind of game on now.
These confirmation hearings are going to be so massive for Tulsi Gabbard, for Pete Hegseth, for Matt Gaetz.
For, I guess, Marco Rubio glide through, but for some of the others that President Trump has as Treasury that's going to come up probably tomorrow.
And the other, you know, the DAG, the Deputy Attorney General, all of it.
And Gates is going to have an amazing team.
Where'd they go for social media, ma'am?
caroline wren
Sure.
Well, remember, it was the War Room Posse that got the Kevin McCarthy thing done through the app.
So Grace better get ready and the War Room Posse better get ready to start dialing their senators.
This is going to be a fun confirmation.
We've got to keep the pressure on.
At Caroline Wren on Twitter, Getter, and TruSocial.
And let's get these folks through and let's save the country.
steve bannon
Caroline Wren, thank you, ma'am.
Good on you.
Gates is your nominee.
unidentified
Gates came from this show.
steve bannon
As a springboard.
unidentified
Short break.
steve bannon
Back in a moment.
unidentified
War Room.
Here's your host, Stephen K. Vance.
steve bannon
For the financial turbulence, I'm going to actually try to get Beattie back on at 630, maybe 645.
I don't think I've ever done that and should bifurcate, I guess, but I have to because I want to get to the financial part.
In the second half, he's got a great column, great piece on Scott Besson, kind of breaks down his expertise and why maybe it's a particular what President Trump needs now.
But the financial turbulence, because that's all come, remember, President Trump is maniacally focused on returning to the peace and prosperity of the years 18 and 19, when his economic plan that he put in place in 17 started to kick in.
This is why birchgold.com slash Bannon.
Go check out and understand when Gates is appointed and he goes and he's looking at the deep state and deconstruct the illegal, the weaponization.
What the globalists have done to you and the dollar and to your savings and all of it, the purchasing power of the dollar, Biden is down 22%, I think, since Biden took over, 24%.
The inflation would also adjust to the drop in the purchasing power of it, cumulative.
It's the reason they have the BRICS nations.
Go learn about this at Birch Gold and understand directionally where this is going and why gold is a hedge.
Birchgold.com slash Bannon.
Don't let the globalists destroy your savings, your hard-earned money.
So go check it out today.
Also, this is the same thing with Home Title Act.
Remember, if you own financial assets, if you're able to own financial assets, it's still 80 to 90 percent of people's net worth basically is tied up in their real estate assets or principally their home, their castle.
For those lucky to own a home, it's about 80% of your net worth.
You can't have somebody come in and be able to take your title, because of the way these things are held, and really take out a second mortgage in your house and take cash out of it that you have to pay off, because the hard money lenders do not want to hear your tale of woe.
It's called a tough break for a swell guy.
But go to Home Title Lock.
Natalie Dominguez is over there as the head of education.
We'll actually walk you through what their services are and how it can protect you.
Not just from cyber criminals now, but from even people you may know or maybe lawyers reviews, etc.
Hometitlelock.com slash ban.
And last but not least, taxes.
I know anxiety when these come, when these letters from the IRS come, what people, their natural tendency to do with the credit cards and the taxes, and this is why we have sponsors in both, is to, if I just put it in the drawer, it's going to go away.
That's not true.
That's a monster in that drawer that grows and metastasizes every day.
The fees, the penalties, the interest.
It's not going to go away.
And the IRS is going to get their money.
It's a process.
You have to engage in a process.
There are people and companies out there to help you.
You're not alone.
And you're not alone in that this happens to a lot of people.
You're not a bad person because of this.
But what you have to do is stop that kind of, oh, if I just put it in the thing, I don't want to think about it, although it's anxiety.
It's working on you every night.
That's to just get it out, open it up, call, go to Tax Network USA, TNUSA.com slash Bannon.
They give you a free consultation.
You fill out a couple of forms.
Then they'll come in if you qualify.
They think basically your situation warrants it.
Then you will talk and get a free consultation.
Of what they can do, like capping the penalties, capping the face amount, maybe even cutting the face amount, maybe capping the interest rates.
I don't know.
They have all types of different programs and permutations, but you need to engage with them.
Trust the process.
And remember, it's not going to go away.
TaxNetworkUSA.com.
Go check it out today.
Mo, Denver, let's put it up and get people there.
Because we needed you at the Rampart.
You were magnificent today.
Guess what?
We didn't get the votes.
Thune won.
And in Thune winning, it means Mitch McConnell ran.
President Trump, Bill Chris has said it.
He gave Thune the big F you getting out of town.
Okay, tough guy.
You've told me you had my back.
You sat there and said, you're going to give me a couple of recess days.
But more importantly, you said that you will do everything to move my nominees.
Well, Matt Gaetz is my nominee.
That's the one he hit him with.
First out of the box, Matt Gaetz.
Suck on that.
So the president gets to choose his attorney general.
Jack Kennedy chose Bobby.
Just saying.
Reagan chose his personal lawyer, William French Smith.
Trump gets to pick Matt Gaetz.
Mike Lindell.
Thoughts, observations, commentary, sir.
mike lindell
Well, Steve, I do want to quick tell you this.
Out here in California, and there are a bunch of them that come up to me, and they're so happy, you know, that our great real president won.
And they brought up, I told them I was going on the war room.
They're all...
Pro-Trump, they're part of the war room posse, but none of them want to come on here.
They're still, I think, afraid over in California, going on the war room.
But people are excited.
You talk about Matt Gaetz, that's what they were talking about earlier.
People are excited in this and in California.
So far, you know, what the president's done, I'm excited about everyone he's picked so far, less maybe one or two.
But, you know, you can already see the stuff he's putting into place.
You can already, wow, this is going to manifest to this, because he already has such great proof of concept.
Like you said, Steve, in 2018 and 19, where we were, I mean, you talk about all of these You know, just one thing fixed, like you say, the shipping.
You fix the shipping and the cost of shipping.
Oh, economy, it's just everything goes down in price.
And I'm excited.
You talk about Matt Gaetz getting, you know, the Attorney General and all these appointments he's doing.
I mean, you've got to be excited, too.
I think everybody's excited.
I know they're excited out here in California.
They're getting one thing after another.
steve bannon
Talk to me about pillows.

We're giving thanks back to the War Room Posse.
I consider you guys saved my pillow.
And now we're flourishing because of the War Room.
steve bannon
Mike Lindell, love you, brother.
We'll see you back here tomorrow morning.
Lindell's somebody that put it all on the line.
Matt Gaetz put it on the line.
Donald Trump put it on the line.
I can go down the list.
Hell, Lindale's been investigated by everybody.
You think he's a good witness for the weaponization thing?
They try to bankrupt him.
They try to criminalize everything he did.
He's got lawsuits all over the place that try to put him out of business.
FBI stopped him in a, what, an Arby's?
Took his phones.
The jackbooted Gestapo.
unidentified
It's a new day dawning.
steve bannon
And Matt Gaetz...
He's going to get confirmed by the United States Senate.
And he's going to be Donald Trump's Attorney General of the United States of America.
And Matt Gaetz is going to begin a long, multi-year process against the globalists, against the deep state, to set things right.
Short break.
