steve bannon
This is what you're fighting for.
unidentified
I mean, every day you're out there.
steve bannon
What they're doing is blowing people off.
If you continue to look the other way and shut up, then the oppressors, the authoritarians, get total control and total power.
Because this is just like in Arizona.
This is just like in Georgia.
It's another element that backs them into a corner and shows their lies and misrepresentations.
unidentified
This is why this audience is going to have to get engaged.
steve bannon
As we've told you, this is the fight.
unidentified
All this nonsense, all this spin, they can't handle the truth.
War Room Battleground.
Here's your host, Stephen K. Bannon.
matthew boyle
This is War Room Battleground.
I'm Matt Boyle, the Washington Bureau Chief of Breitbart News, in for Steve Bannon.
We are broadcasting from the West Palm Beach studio of RAV, really beautiful studios here in West Palm Beach.
And we had this huge plan here.
When I was going to fill in, we planned this a couple weeks ago that I was going to do this hour of this program.
We were going to do this whole breakdown of the Electoral College and the state of the race and the presidential race.
And then, this weekend, when I saw what Kamala Harris and the Democrats and the establishment
media have been doing to the Gold Star families of the 13 who were killed in the Abbey Gate
bombing three years ago, in the aftermath of President Trump's decision to attend the
three-year anniversary at Arlington National Cemetery, we scrapped the entire plan and
we replanned the entire program here today.
And what we've decided to do is bring in a number of the Gold Star families who Kamala
Harris insulted via social media and has never called, never communicated with.
And so, we have several of the Gold Star families who have spoken out.
President Trump, of course, put out videos from several of these people on his social
media over the weekend.
And so, we wanted to get them on here, the program.
To hear their stories and tell their voice and hear from them in their own voices.
So we have Christy Shamblin.
She is the mother-in-law of Nicole Gee.
We have Jim McCollum, the father of Lance Corporal Riley McCollum.
We also have Steve Nakooey, who's the father of Lance Corporal Kareem Nakooey.
All three of them were killed in Afghanistan at Abbey Gate in that horrific terrorist attack
in August 2021, three years ago.
So let's bring them all in, and then I want to go through with each of them one by one
to tell their stories.
And then in the second segment, by the way, we'll be joined by two more Gold Star parents.
So I guess let's start with Christy.
Christy, I watched your video where you were talking about how Kamala Harris, in response to Kamala Harris' social media post, can you tell us what your reaction was when you read that post of her criticizing President Trump for going with you guys to Arlington National Cemetery?
unidentified
Well, thank you for having us and for having me.
I was shocked when I saw her post.
We did invite them to Arlington that day, and we never heard any response, just as we've never heard any response from any of our attempts at communication with President Biden and Vice President Harris and the White House.
Having her post that on social media has made us a target for a lot of hate right now, and it's shocking.
matthew boyle
Absolutely unbelievable.
Steve, let's go to you next.
Sir, what was your reaction when you saw that Kamala Harris was out there criticizing President Trump for going to the ceremony?
steve nikoui
Yeah, thank you for having us, Matt.
We appreciate it.
And just like Christy, I was shocked, but not to a great extent.
You know, the one that's claiming that You know, we're playing politics or that he's playing politics.
It's actually her that's playing politics for her to.
To call this out, and to, you know, on a solemn day when we need a remembrance, finally, their last, their last, you know, anniversary in this administration, and they can't even do the right thing.
And to be honest with you, we've extensively asked everyone on the Trump campaign, and Christie was there, this altercation was not seen by anyone, and I'm questioning whether it even happened.
matthew boyle
Unbelievable.
So, Jim, to bring you in here as well, tell us what your reaction was.
Same question.
What was your reaction when you saw Kamala Harris attacking President Trump over this?
unidentified
I was disappointed, hurt a little bit.
We're kind of used to having that stab ripped off and feeling a little bit of pain.
But this one was, it became personal.
And it was such a beautiful moment, finally.
Uh, to to recognize the kids, something something that hasn't happened in a long time, and we've kept our kids out of the politics.
We've never discussed it, but it's just, you know, out of respect for our kids.
We've never included them in politics, and they made it political.
And for me, that became personal.
matthew boyle
So I want to ask you guys, have any of you heard from Kamala Harris ever?
She's the sitting vice president of the United States.
When your kids were killed in this terrorist attack, she was the sitting vice president.
She was supposedly the last person in the room, at least so she says, when Biden made the decisions to do what he did in Afghanistan.
Has she ever called any of you?
unidentified
Never.
No.
matthew boyle
Never.
unidentified
Nope.
matthew boyle
Never.
So let me ask you this.
So again, we'll start with Christy.
What do you think that shows about her character?
unidentified
I think that it shows she believes our service members are disposable.
And that's exactly the feeling that we've got from the White House, is that our heroes, our children, my daughter-in-law, was disposable and replaceable and not important.
And I can't live with that.
It's not acceptable.
Our service members are the most important people in our society.
matthew boyle
And Steve, what say you?
What do you think it says about our character that you've never heard from her?
steve nikoui
I think it's just typical from the whole administration.
You know, they want to sweep this under the rug and never talk about it again.
Never honest.
For them to honor and recognize the sacrifice of our children would force them to recognize that there was a mistake.
And so they won't bring it up.
You know, they'll keep it under the rug.
And I'm pretty much used to it.
But I'm going to fight it.
You know, I'm going to call it out every step of the way.
matthew boyle
And same thing to you, Jim.
What do you think it says about our character?
unidentified
Complete lack thereof.
Yeah.
To just abandon the 13, to never reach out, to no condolences, no I'm sorry, no explanation, just absolutely ignore us and basically shut us up.
She's lacking character.
She has no respect.
matthew boyle
I want you guys to tell stories about your lost loved ones here.
Again, let's start with Chrissy.
Can you tell us about Nicole?
What was she like as a person?
What would she be like today?
Talk to us a little bit about her.
unidentified
Oh, Nicole Leanne Gee was a superstar.
We always knew she would impact her life and everybody around her dramatically.
We just didn't know that it would be in such a manner.
She was well known for being an encourager and a believer and having a positive mental attitude.
She posted just days before her death a picture of her holding one of the Afghan babies with the post, I love my job.
And it just is exactly who she was and how she lived.
Even in the middle of what was horrific circumstances surrounded by the Taliban, she found the moments to be able to love her job and take pride in what she was doing for her country.
Most of all, she loved her family, she loved her country, and she loved the Marine Corps.
matthew boyle
So, Steve, can you tell us about Kareem?
What was he like as a person?
steve nikoui
Yeah, thank you.
Kareem Abnakouy, you know, he was incredible.
He was a world champion jiu-jitsu fighter.
He was into hand-to-hand combat sports, was in the JROTC all four years in high school,
always wanted to be a Marine, combat Marine.
We extensively shot, you know, rifles and guns.
This is what he wanted to do.
And, you know, the day before he passed away on the 25th of August, he sent a video of
him interacting with a child, you know, handing the little girl candy and having them pinky
swear together and saying that they're friends.
So, you know, another thing is he was born again, gave his life to Jesus Christ, and I think he was there to add some comfort to the children.
And a testament to his character and who he was is he was right on the wall.
He was right directly across from the bomber, and I wouldn't expect him to be anywhere else.
You know, that's where he was, and that's who he was.
matthew boyle
And Jim, tell us about Riley.
What was he like as a person?
unidentified
Riley was a lot like Kareem.
I think that's why they became such good friends.
Both of them tougher than hell, but had a compassionate side that you just admired.
Yeah, you know, through wrestling and sports and shooting guns and being a Marine, that's all Riley ever wanted to do is be a Marine.
And to know where he was and the fact that he was next to Kareem right there on the wall says to me that said everything I needed to know about Riley.
He was doing what he loved with the people that he loved and doing something for somebody who couldn't do things for themselves.
So that was just him in a nutshell.
matthew boyle
Mm-hmm.
So guys, one of the things we saw, obviously we're in the middle of a presidential election, and we saw the Democrat National Convention.
The Democrat Party is aggressively pushing this theme that there is this great joy in the country.
That's the word they use.
Joy.
Over and over and over again.
Dozens and dozens of times for Kamala Harris.
Do you guys feel joy when, after everything you've been through here, when you think of Kamala Harris?
unidentified
Not at all.
matthew boyle
Nobody.
Right.
Oh, no.
So, so let me, let me, let me go, let's go through the, let's start with, again, with
Christy.
Christy, can you tell us about when you see the, the, the, the political class out there,
the left, the, the, the, the Democrat party, the media, et cetera, out there pushing this
theme of joy for Kamala Harris.
What goes through your mind when you see that?
unidentified
That it's a complete farce.
This experience has really shown me that what we don't see in the mainstream media, and for the majority of Americans, is what's happening behind the scenes.
And we've seen behind that curtain, so to say, and it's scary.
To hear her describe joy like that is just heartbreaking.
You know, the last three years have been nothing but hell in our lives.
matthew boyle
And Steve, what say you, sir, to that theme that you see out there from the left and the media and the Democrats?
steve nikoui
Yeah, I've seen it's been this way for a while.
It's not surprising.
You know, they misrepresent everything.
It's soundbites and they live off of one or two lines and that's it.
But I think the more important thing that we need to get out of what happened, and I know Chrissy had brought it up, is that, you know, from this thing, we talk about how President Trump was shot and the volatile, you know, rhetoric that was going on prior to that.
Well, these a lot of these family members have gotten, you know, threats, physical threats, you know, because we, you know, Donald Trump was was at Arlington.
And I think that's something to think about.
A lot of the family members are scared because They've gotten physical violent threats and hate mail and hate calls on and off social media.
And, you know, that's the outcome of the other side.
This is what the outcome is, you know, death threats and hate mail to gold star families.
matthew boyle
Absolutely disgusting.
Can you tell us about some of those?
I mean, what are some of the threats you guys are seeing?
Jim, you want to start?
What are some of the threats?
Have you received any threats?
What are some of the threats that some of the families you guys are seeing?
unidentified
I've received no threats personally.
I've received a lot of hate mail and that Riley deserved to die.
The 13 deserved to die.
I lost my son, so none of that's going to hurt me.
It's just disgusting to see it.
People's places of work have been threatened.
Talking to some of the family members and seeing some of the messages that have been sent to them are absolutely disgusting, especially to the mothers.
There is no place for that.
And it's so undeserving.
And, you know, we want to be a united nation, but it's going to be really hard to forgive a lot of this stuff.
They're not trying to unite or unify at all.
matthew boyle
Really, really disgusting stuff.
Okay, so next, I want to ask you guys, if you did have the opportunity to talk to Kamala Harris, and I would hope that the sitting Vice President of the United States would, even though it's three years too late, still reach out to you guys.
She still hasn't done so, but I would hope that she does.
But if you did get the opportunity to talk to her, what would you say to her?
So, again, let's start with Christy.
What would you say to Kamala Harris if you got the opportunity to talk to her?
unidentified
The same thing we have been asking from day one of this.
We've made phone calls.
We've reached out and asked the question, tell us how this was a success.
We don't see any successes that belong to the administration.
The few successes that were had belong to the men and women in uniform and not to the men and women who serve in D.C.
And I would ask, how can you call it a success?
And my second question would be, how are you going to help us make sure this doesn't happen again?
You had another evacuation where people were falling off of airplanes.
It's not acceptable.
And if we're going to change that for the future so that we don't have another Saigon and we don't have another Afghanistan, we have to get some of the people in D.C.
to problem solve with us.
matthew boyle
And Steve, what would you say to Kamala Harris if you got the opportunity to talk to her?
steve nikoui
Well, you know, I think there's roughly 43 provinces in Afghanistan.
And prior to, you know, going into July of 2021, about 75-80% of those provinces had been taken over by the Taliban.
I want to know, why didn't they conduct a NEO at that time?
They knew that the country was going to fall.
They knew that there was no possibility of ever having an embassy in Kabul.
That they were just on borrowed time, one.
Two, where was the over-horizon capabilities?
Where were we supporting the Afghan National Defense Forces with, you know, an over-horizon capability, you know, destroying some targets that they had that would help them to stay, you know, to motivate them to stay in, you know, in their command, which they didn't because we abandoned them.
And, um, You know, I guess lastly is why would you continually disrespect my son's and his comrade's service and sacrifice by denying him and not even acknowledging him or saying his name?
matthew boyle
And Jim, what would you say to Kamala Harris if you got the opportunity to talk to her?
unidentified
My first question would be, where have you been for the last three years?
She's been vice president for three years and eight months.
And there is nothing on her record that shows leadership.
She owns it now because she said she was the last one in the room and she supported the decision and she's comfortable with the decision.
There's a lot of questions I do have in that.
But where have you been and what have you done?
And why have you been absent for three years?
matthew boyle
Mm-hmm.
So, next up, I kind of want to talk to you guys about, like, this whole experience that you guys are going through, not something that regular folks out there, you know, regularly go through, right?
Where you're having to deal with media and politics and, you know, all this, you know, national attention, etc.
It's been a wild ride, I'm sure, for you guys for the last three years since this happened.
So I want to ask each of you what the process has been like and what are some of the craziest things that you've seen and heard and learned over the course of the last several years here since this has happened, since you guys have been unwillingly forced into this political world by the nature of becoming Gold Star families.
Alright, Christy, again, starting with you, tell us, what are some of the craziest things you've seen since this all happened?
unidentified
I have been amazed by the hearts and commitment of our service members.
Meeting some of Nicole's unit members, the people that served with them there on the ground in Afghanistan, has been amazing.
They are stellar human beings and should be celebrated by all of America.
What has been disappointing is really having The administration turned their backs on us.
We cannot get answers.
For many of us, you know, we didn't know details of our loved one's death for a very long time.
Still don't know details for a lot of us.
So that's been disappointing.
I feel like I said, like I've seen behind the curtain and you can't really unsee that, unfortunately.
matthew boyle
Mm-hmm.
And Steve, same question to you, sir.
What's been the most shocking thing to you as you've entered this world so unwillingly?
steve nikoui
Well, two parts.
The first thing, you know exactly what Chrissy said, this love and support of the American people.
For our kids is sacrifice and service That was incredible.
I mean and still to this day we get that not from not from all of them But you know not from all of America obviously, but a good majority.
That's incredible I think the thing that stood out to me and has really hurt me most is that the fact that our government my tax dollars are paying the Taliban 80 million dollars a week and And that is the thing that gets me.
And that's funding all of their terrorist groups.
And they're tied in with ISIS as well, by marriage.
So do your own research.
But the fact that our government is paying them $80 million a year, that just blows my mind.
matthew boyle
And same question to you, sir, Jim.
What is the most shocking thing that you've learned as you've entered this world?
unidentified
Um, the love and support and the goodness in the people that do support us, and there's a lot of them, has been absolutely beautiful.
Very much appreciated.
And it continues.
And even the support we've gotten after this debacle this last weekend.
It is amazing how many people do love and care for our military, remember our kids, people that I've never met.
But they reach out, and it's heartwarming and absolutely beautiful to see that, and it is very much appreciated.
On the other side of that, the most disappointing thing is the media and our government and how easily they will lie, cover up, and deceive.
That's been extremely disappointing, and it continues.
The more I learn, Um, the government and the military that I have loved my entire life and trusted, um, that trust is, is, uh, it's going, um, we got to get back.
Um, we, we got to take the country back and get back to honesty.
Um, so yeah, the dishonesty is probably the most disappointing thing and the way we've been treated.
matthew boyle
Really, really incredible.
I really want to thank each of you guys for joining us here on War Room.
I'm really sorry that you guys are going through this.
We're going to keep tracking these stories, both here on War Room as well as on Breitbart, where I work.
I know that it's terrible that you're going through this.
Yeah, also I just think that it's important that we remember the service that your children gave to this country and I think it's terrible that Kamala Harris did what, you know, has not I know Joe Biden at least showed up to the dignified
transfer even though he was looking at his watch the whole time.
But really incredible stuff.
So I really want to thank each of you guys for joining us here.
We're going to take a quick break here on War Room.
When we return, we're going to be joined by Coral Doolittle and Kelly Barnett.
Coral Doolittle is the mother of Colonel Humberto Sanchez and Kelly Barnett is the mother of
Staff Sergeant Darren Hoover.

All this nonsense, all this spin, they can't handle the truth.
War Room Battleground with Stephen K. Bannon.
matthew boyle
And again folks, this is War Room Battleground here.
I'm Matt Boyle, the Washington Bureau Chief of Breitbart News, in for Steve here today.
As we continue this Gold Star Family Special here in the wake of what happened at Arlington National Cemetery last week and Kamala Harris this weekend, the Democrat nominee for president, the current vice
president of the United States, attacking the Gold Star families via social media posts, just
absolutely disgusting stuff that we've seen from the Democrats and the left.
What we wanted to do is, again, we're bringing on the actual Gold Star families here to talk
to, so we talked to three of them in our first segment.
We've got two more here in this second segment.
We are joined by Coral Doolittle, who's the mother of Corporal Humberto Sanchez, and Kelly
Barnett, who is the mother of Staff Sergeant Darren Hoover.
Both of them join us now here on War Room Battleground.
So again, welcome.
I same thing that we did in the first segment I'll kinda wanna go just go back
and forth between both of you guys and I get you both telling stories about I
your lost sons but also I your thoughts on what's happening right now so let's
just start with I guess with coral I can you tell us a little bit about
Humberto as a person what was he like I I were you know what was it tell us
unidentified
about Humberto since he was a little kid he was one of those kids that everybody
He grew up and then he really struggled when he was a little kid.
His dad was an abuser so he turns into a defender and he turns into a person that really advocates and help kids that they were feeling bullied or they were feeling left behind.
I have several stories of that kind and It was just a happy kid.
Even when I know he was struggling because his dad left, I know that he was a happy kid and just trying to help and protect.
It was a big protector.
matthew boyle
And Kelly, tell us about Darren.
What was he like as a person?
unidentified
Hi.
Thanks for having me on here.
And hi, Coral.
Love to see your face.
My son was born with fire and grit in his veins.
He was always more mature than everyone his age, including me, even though I wasn't his age.
Um, but he was, um, you know, a lot like Humberto, all of these kids are the same.
They came out, they were just different and they wanted to make sure that everybody was safe and everybody was protected and everybody, you know, wasn't harmed.
And, and that's what he did from, from the very beginning, even when he was little, we call him our protector.
That's actually, you know, it actually states that on his headstone, our protector.
It just floors me sometimes that all these kids, such good kids, I mean they're not kids, grown men and women, but such good people.
I'm so proud of him and I'm so proud to be his mom and I'm so proud to know the parents of these other fallen heroes.
matthew boyle
And so let me ask you both this.
Again, we'll start with Coral.
Take us back to that day when you found out that this bombing had happened and that your son was killed.
What was it like?
What went through your mind?
How did that day play out for you?
unidentified
So we wake up with the news that, well, since he got sent to the Jordan, I was actually on top of the news all the time.
So that day I wake up, I was doing my coffee like every morning, and then I start listening to the news and watching the bombing happen.
And it was just crazy how your mom's heart just start beating like my kid is there, like just non-stopping.
I check my phone every five minutes just to make sure that he wasn't lying or just wanting to see a bubble, a message saying, Mama, I'm alive.
And that never happened.
It was 2.30 p.m.
when I definitely knew that it was my kid, one of the 13.
But I actually had the knock on the door all the way to 2.30 a.m.
and I have a phone call first.
I didn't want to answer that phone call because I know what it was.
matthew boyle
Terrible.
Kelly, same question to you.
unidentified
Tell us about how you found out.
Well, I was working that morning.
I work at home, so I was working and I saw it come up on the news and then the count kept going up.
I kept thinking, okay, there's 6,000 service members.
It couldn't be mine.
It's not mine.
All day we were texting back and forth, texting him, talking with his girlfriend, talking with his sisters.
Have you heard from him?
Have you heard from him?
Nothing.
We kept thinking, maybe no news is good news.
That wasn't the case.
It was about 10.30 at night, and I was walking down to the laundry room, and I heard that horrible doorbell ringing.
My heart just fell to the floor.
I went to the door, and it's a glass door, and you can see three Marines standing there, full dress.
All I could do was just collapse.
My son-in-law caught me.
It's a horrible day.
I hate that all of us had to go through that and I hope that nobody else has to ever go through that.
matthew boyle
It's just terrible stuff.
Okay, so now later when we saw the dignified transfer play out at Dover Air Force Base, Joe Biden was there and he kept checking his watch the entire time, right?
He kept looking down at his watch, I mean, as if he had somewhere else to be.
But somebody who wasn't there was the sitting vice president of the United States, Kamala Harris.
So were you guys at the dignified transfer at Dover?
Or can you talk to us about your thoughts on both Biden and Harris, Biden checking his watch and Harris just not even showing up?
unidentified
I was the first person, like the family, as he was entering the room.
It was a huge room.
Um, they said every family together, like in their own little space, he get close to me and he called me Mrs. Lopez.
So obviously Mrs. Lopez was sitting in the next couch besides me and she screamed, she is Mrs. Sanchez.
And after they actually let him know that he was wrong, he went a few minutes later to meet Alicia Lopez and He called her Mrs. Sanchez.
So Alicia just got really, really upset.
I know, and I can tell you this, I was there physically, but my mind and my heart were not there.
I will say that it was the worst moment of my life because even when we have the knock on the door, we did not see a cat.
We did not see it real.
We were hoping still that He was maybe somewhere.
And this is something that I really, like, I struggle with it.
All the people that was there giving their condolences to us, they were the responsible for the murder of our kids.
It was not only Biden.
It was McKinsey.
It was Blinken.
It was all the higher ups in the Marines, the Navy, the Army.
Like, they have somehow a play and duty hands on the withdrawal of Afghanistan.
They just went to check our hands and wash their hands according to them.
For us, now that we know more, that we did our research, we know that every single one of them, they just went to pay their respects according to them.
But they were responsible at one point of how it happened.
And coming from Kamala Harris, we never see her there.
I know someone said that she was there, she wasn't there.
And the disrespect from Biden just checking his watch.
Every single casket passed by and he was checking his watch.
So that was just a total disrespect to our family, and not just to us, but to our fallen soldiers that they were coming back to the United States.
matthew boyle
And Kelly, same question to you.
I mean, I don't know if you were there and what your thoughts are on, again, the Biden watch-checking thing and Kamala just not even showing up.
unidentified
Yeah, Kamala wasn't there.
Yeah, we were out on the tarmac.
I watched him check his watch probably three times.
And, you know, I had my daughter and my son-in-law's there, both my daughters and my son-in-law's, that we were getting more angry and more angry.
And I finally had to just say to them, stop watching it.
You know, we're here for your brother.
Stop watching him.
Um, but it was very disrespectful.
Um, you know, my daughter had, you know, an outburst there at the end after, you know, she made sure that the, you know, our, our, our, our kids had already left in the vans.
She had an outburst at him and it was just out of frustration and hurt and disrespected being disrespected that she, that she did that.
I mean, it's a good thing that we had that part of the ceremony after, I'm sorry, the part where he came in and met with everyone.
My family had told everyone that we did not want to meet with him, so they put us in a back room.
Unfortunately, that room had a glass door and glass wall, so we did see him.
He tried to get in to speak with us.
One of his probably Alzheimer or whatever he has, dementia moments.
Um, at that time, but he did try to get in to see us and, um, thank goodness that he did not.
Um, it was not a pretty thing and it was not, um, uh, I did not feel respect from the, the administration whatsoever.
The only person that we did allow in was the commandant, commandant of the Marine Corps.
Um, but yeah, it was, uh, even from that, that very start, it was total disrespect.
matthew boyle
So next up, I want to ask you guys about, fast forward a few years here, obviously to last week, President Trump went to Arlington National Cemetery at the three-year anniversary ceremony.
And then the media and the Democrats and the left, and now the latest is Kamala Harris herself, are out there attacking President Trump for having taken pictures and videos, which apparently you guys had asked and the other families had asked him to do, and had all
been cleared ahead of time.
But you see these attacks across the media, and again from Kamala Harris against President
Trump.
And I know, Coral, you made a video that President Trump's shared, and several of the other families
So Coral, get your reaction to when you see what Kamala Harris and the Democrats and the media have been doing, attacking President Trump here.
What's your reaction?
unidentified
I just think that they just make everything, they politicize everything.
For us parents, and I say it before, my son is not there in Arlington, but I feel like I really feel that President Trump paid tribute to all the 13, not just the three that are buried in there.
And for them to just make everything, turn everything around and say, he's doing it wrong, he's breaking rules, it's just a lie.
It's just a lie.
President Trump paid his respect to our kids, to all of the 13 kids, and he's the only one that actually take time To meet with the families, to talk to the families, to honor our kids and say their names.
President Trump, know our 13 kids' names.
matthew boyle
And Kelly, same question to you.
What's your reaction as you see all of this play out over the last week, especially with the Kamala Harris post on social media?
unidentified
Yeah, I was the one that reached out to the Trump team that got that rolling for him to come.
You know, so I feel like You know, it was, it was me that, that, you know, got this all started and I don't feel bad for it because it was a beautiful day.
President Trump has been a source of, of, um, a source of peace and, uh, a shoulder to lean on and, uh, and listening ear for us from, you know, the beginning.
And so I, it was a beautiful day.
They knew that we wanted pictures.
I, you know, I made it very clear that, you know, I'd spoke to Paul Knauss I wanted to make sure that there were pictures for, um, since she couldn't be there, that there were plenty of pictures for, you know, her to see, you know, him, um, with Ryan and all of that.
And they knew that from the get go, we broke no rules.
There were no rules broken.
They just cannot stand that Trump did something that they're not able to do.
Um, they hate him.
And so whatever they, that whatever he does, they're going to throw daggers.
And then they start throwing daggers at us, ghost our families.
You know, sometimes you think, you know, what is off limits?
Gold Star families are off limits, and they threw daggers.
So their hatred for him, you know, it goes beyond anything that you can imagine.
And it's just sickening, because like I said, that was such a beautiful day.
The ceremony was beautiful, and our hearts were lifted.
I had peace for a few hours.
It was needed.
matthew boyle
So I think, so Kelly, to follow up here, I assume that you've never heard from Kamala Harris.
Is that a fair assumption?
unidentified
Oh, no.
No, I've never heard from her.
You know, not one bit.
Joe Biden either.
So, you know, I don't know why this is such a problem for them, for him being there.
But no, she has not reached out.
I mean, even, you know, woman to woman.
I'm trying to, you know, to at least, you know, lend an ear to me.
No, she hasn't reached out.
matthew boyle
And so, on that note, if you did get a chance to talk to her, and I assume you would take a call if the sitting vice president called you, what would you say to her?
What would you say to Kamala Harris?
What would you, what would your message to her be?
What questions would you have for her?
unidentified
What questions?
Well, I would let her talk first just to see, you know, what she had to say to me.
That would probably determine a lot of what I said.
But what I would say to her, you know, with her being the last one in that room, she's admitted that she was the last one in that room, um, during the Afghanistan planning or the non planning.
Um, in my view, I would ask her, you know, you know, all of these generals are saying that they advised against it and, and they told them that this wasn't a good idea.
Why did she go along with it?
I, you know, I want to know why my child, um, was not important enough for them to do this proper and to do it the way it should have been done.
That would be my question for her.
matthew boyle
I think we lost Coral, so we'll try to get her back here before the end of the segment.
We've got a few minutes left, Kelly.
Three years ago, your son's killed in this horrible terrorist attack.
It thrusts you into this world, this political world, where you're unwillingly made a gold star parent.
It's a pretty wild world, I'm sure.
I'm sure it's been a wild rollercoaster for you, learning, doing media, talking to politicians, etc.
Probably something you never expected to do or wanted to do.
What's been the craziest thing that you've learned over the course of the last few years about this universe that exists out there that regular people maybe that are watching this don't know about?
unidentified
Oh, what I've learned is that I have met some beautiful people and I've met some horrible people that try to disguise themselves as beautiful people.
Um, this, this politics is not a game you want to be in.
And I don't, I hate that we've been thrust into this because you know, the, the moment at Arlington was not political.
Um, the things that we do, um, you know, the foundations that we do and you know, all of the families have foundation.
That's not political.
It's just been you know horrible to know that people that the administration especially Can lie so easily and so often and it it baffles me.
You know, I I didn't know that this was possible You know, I had I had you know been a conspiracy theorist a little bit in my life, but never never huge But there it's real there the lies are just they just come and I just I don't understand how it's possible how the the pull of power It's so over overcoming to these people that they just, I mean, it's like they're like addicted.
Yeah.
matthew boyle
And Kelly, the last thing I would ask you here is we get about a 30 seconds left.
It's just, uh, what would be your message to other moms out there, uh, around the country, uh, as they consider who to vote for here in this, uh, really critical election?
Uh, what, after everything you've learned?
unidentified
Oh my goodness.
Um, you know, I still have, uh, I have family that's still in the military.
I'm not going to say who.
Very close family.
And so it scares me to death that these two, that Biden is, well, he's not really running the country, but it just scares me that we could have another years of this nightmare.
I would not, I don't trust them.
matthew boyle
Terrible, terrible nightmare.
Yeah.
It's a terrible nightmare.
unidentified
I don't trust them.
matthew boyle
Yeah, and Kelly, we're out of time here, so I really want to thank you for joining us.
I'm really sorry for everything that you've gone through, and I really want to thank Coral Doolittle, too.
