| It's so interesting how the former president has convinced a huge number of people in the party that he is fighting for them. | ||
| As much as he talks about his own legal fights and many commentators say that's all he really talks about, people believe he is fighting for them. | ||
| Well, he talks about persecution, right? | ||
| And so it's his persecution and also, let's say, in the case of evangelicals, saying that people who have religious faith are inherently persecuted by the broader culture. | ||
| And I think that is a way of creating an identification, because then it means all this huge array of institutions that you no longer trust, they're not just against me, they're against you. | ||
| And we've talked a lot about how he's been able to make that argument stick. | ||
| The CBS poll, their final poll before the Iowa caucus, this is a national poll, shows that 81 percent of Republican primary voters and caucus participants, 81 percent of those people agree with Donald Trump. | ||
| That immigrants are poisoning the blood of this country. | ||
| That means that 81% of the Republican primary electorate believe Nikki Haley has poisoned blood and is poisoning the blood. | ||
| Of the United States. | ||
| So that as a roadblock for Nikki Haley is impossible, but it also shows you what you're up against in any kind of campaign against voters like that. | ||
| The convertibility of voters like that to anything other than the Trump view of the world is impossible. | ||
| There's no campaign ad, there's no speech you can make. | ||
| There's no, you know, Republican who Chris Christie might be able to convince some of them. | ||

| Not one of them can be converted. | ||

| And so they're not trying to convince people and win people over through politics. | ||

| And for the anecdote, Steve, yesterday I was hanging out, as you know, in front of the Ukrainian house where I did our segment. | ||
| And lo and behold, who stepped into the Ukrainian house? | ||
| Retired Joint Chief of Staff General Milley, who retired, obviously. | ||
| And so what is he doing in Davos? | ||
| I tried to ambush him and ask him questions, but he had his entourage. | ||
| But I heard him over say that he is very much still supporting Ukraine even though he is retired and he will be holding many meetings with Ukrainian people during this week here in Davos. | ||
| Nor is the whole push on misinformation and disinformation is one of the biggest global risk threats going. | ||
| And by the way, Allianz, the big financial institution, came out today. | ||
| The CEO, the head of Risk Report, said the biggest risk is working class people and populism, the rise of populism, and the elites not paying attention to what people are saying. | ||
| Do you get a sense that among Davos man, And the presenters, that they understand that MAGA is ascendant, that everything to try to stop President Trump and this movement has failed here in the United States, and that we're now becoming a global movement, you know, with the Germans, the Italians, folks in India, throughout the rest of Western Europe. | ||

| She kicked off with the very first thing in her speech. | ||
| She said, the global risks report, which we highlighted yesterday, you know, with the table of the 10 top risks, The Global Risks Report is a stunning and sobering read for the global business community. | ||
| The top concern for the next two years is disinformation and misinformation and the polarization of our societies. | ||
| These risks are serious because they limit our ability to tackle the big global challenges. | ||
| She says it right there. | ||
| Misinformation and disinformation i.e. | ||
| the truth that we are all trying to share and push to the world is the single one thread because it connects all of the different narratives that they are putting out. | ||
| Climate change, pandemics, etc. | ||
| They need to suppress any information that contradicts whatever they're going to throw at us this year. | ||
