| So many people here on the island of Maui will be waking up to the news that 36 of their community members, loved ones, friends have died. | ||
| That fire in Lahaina is one of three fires currently burning on the island here. | ||

| The historic town of Lahaina, a popular tourist and economic hub on the island's west side, particularly affected with hundreds of structures impacted. | ||

| People stuck in traffic trying to get out and there's flame on both sides of the road like something out of a horror movie. | ||
| Most of the fires on Maui fueled in part by violent winds caused by Hurricane Dora churning more than 800 miles away. | ||
| Those winds now subsiding as the storm pushes away. | ||
| The primary focus is to save lives and to prevent human suffering and mitigate great property loss. | ||
| State Department crews assisting in efforts to restore communication across the islands and distribute water. | ||
| With military helicopters aiding in extinguishing the fires. | ||
| Two CH-47s supporting Maui County. | ||
| They flew 13 hours, did 58 drops, and about 150,000 gallons of water to assist with suppression of the fire. | ||
| Recovery will be a long road ahead, according to Hawaii's Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke. | ||
| The damage to the infrastructure, it's not just Buildings, I mean, these were small businesses that invested in Maui. | ||

| They're getting briefed by the military, and it's quite evident that the Spring Offensive is kind of Essentially ground to a halt, and one of the reasons field commanders feel they're losing too many young men, and they don't really know how to do the combined arms, it's too complicated for them. | ||
| What's your sense, Ben Burquam and Oscar, when you guys are there, is it more wariness, or is the population still saying, hey, we want to gut this out and fight it out to the end? | ||
| I mean, what's your sense of where the people are? | ||

| Olivares up yesterday from Texas DPS that talks about, hey, the Abbott administration in Texas, Texans and DPS, they've had enough of this. | ||
| And as you reported it broke, the federal government is fighting them and trying to shut it down. | ||
| But he said, Hey, if we didn't have these barriers up there, if we didn't have this, uh, this, uh, the, the wire up there and the fencing up there, this would just be an outright overall invasion that couldn't be stopped. | ||
| And it's so dangerous. | ||
| We're not going to allow it. | ||
| Walk me through your piece in the New York post. | ||
| Well, one thing that is happening that is new. | ||
| Uh, is that you are seeing a multi-pronged campaign from the liberal progressive left and the White House against Texas. | ||
| Uh, this involves a propaganda campaign. | ||
| It involves a legal campaign. | ||
| Uh, and it involves, and when I say propaganda, I mean, uh, untruthful, uh, assertions about like, for example, the, the water barriers killing people. | ||
| Uh, and, uh, that, that, that the Texas department of public safety is submerging, uh, razor wire wrapped, uh, barrels under the water so that they can cut up immigrants. | ||
| That's what I mean by propaganda. | ||
| Uh, and, um, and legal challenges, uh, and environmental claims. | ||
| And when you see my point, my piece just points out is that when you see this level of energy. | ||
| Uh, in this many directions leveled at one particular tactic, uh, or a number of tactics, that means that those tactics are effective. | ||
| That is underlying evidence that the tactics work and must be defeated. | ||
| And, uh, we're seeing that right now, um, aimed at the Texas, uh, fortifications and especially that floating water barrier. | ||
| Uh, they've only got a thousand feet. | ||
| of that water barrier up, but the plan is to extend it for miles up and down the river and move it wherever they need to move it, and put new stuff all the way along the riverbanks where there are hot spots. | ||
| And just to give you another good example, other than the bodies, is now the administration, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, has just announced on July 24th that we have to declare the Mexican Fawn's Foot muscle, an endangered species, and they just announced this on the 24th. | ||
| Where is that Mexican Farnsworth muscle? | ||
| It's at Eagle Pass, Texas, where the water barrier is, and in three counties downstream that are the most heavily trafficked, where the Abbott administration wants to put this water barrier. | ||
| And of course, if they succeed with the regulation, then they could make a legal claim that you've got to remove the water barrier, even though there's no evidence whatsoever that the water barrier is messing with the clam town down there. | ||
| So, that's the level of the degree to which the opponents of that water wall believe it's actually going to work. | ||
| So, that's just pretty much what my... | ||

| They're still doing it, obviously, uh, finding places where the Texans aren't yet. | ||
