| The government left the city. | ||
| They burned the public buildings, including the White House. | ||
| For the British Empire to show the Americans, hey, you're still just a colony. | ||
| Don't think you can stand up to the greatest empire in the world. | ||
| The Americans regrouped, fought back, re-engaged with the British Expeditionary Force around Baltimore and the British fleet. | ||
| Major General Robert Ross, who was the commanding general in charge of the British troops, was killed in combat. | ||
| By the Americans, and we had a 25-hour gunfight, a 25-hour gunfight at Fort McHenry, where the Star-Spangled Banner was written. | ||
| Months later, another British expeditionary force invaded the United States outside of New Orleans at the mouth of the Mississippi River. | ||
| Led by the finest troops the British Army had at the time. | ||

| And so I just want to go back and show the Felder report put together a couple slides in a row that give a nice overall summary that shows everyone real clearly that the real economy is dead and it's been shrinking drastically, which everyone knows, but you don't get that sense. | ||
| And so if the guys want to put up the first slide, this comes after the 08 financial crisis. | ||
| Bernanke comes up with a new theory trying to increase what's called the wealth effect in economics. | ||
| The wealthy have a lot of wealth, right? | ||
| They own stocks and bonds. | ||
| The middle class and the poor have no wealth. | ||
| So right off the bat, you see what's coming. | ||
| They print a ton of money to make people feel wealthy. | ||
| The wealthy then consume more goods and services, and the real economy will grow. | ||
| But as you see in the next chart, If you look at that same chart of real wealth compared to the money supply, all of a sudden, since 2008, you see a nothing burner, a total illusion of this wealth effect, which is just flat as a pancake. | ||
| And then finally, on the third graph, this is the bottom line, when you look at the real economy since 2008 as well, you see just a straight downward decline. | ||
| And so this is a measure of gross domestic product. | ||
| That's the real economy. | ||
| That's the stuff you make relative to the money printing process. | ||
