Speaker Time Text

Any time in American history when an attorney general has directed the FBI to begin to intervene in school board meetings?
We are at war.
A year into one-party rule, the woke left has launched a full frontal assault on families.
So they kicked out all of us who were anti-mask and here come the cops.
They've criminalized being parents.
This is not illegal.
According to the left, your kids don't belong to you.
We have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents.
Put your mask back on.
Go inside.
They spent decades preparing for this war to indoctrinate our kids into hating their country and hating us.
Because of the fifth grade teacher who lined those students up.
And the white ones needed to apologize to the black ones.
And it's more than just schools.
It's Hollywood.
It's the news media.
It's corporate America, big tech, and big pharma.
This is extremely dangerous to our democracy.
The woke army has all but eliminated the basics, and they've replaced it with anti-science and racist ideologies.
I teach my students that there's a whole spectrum of gender identities.
This lady yelled at me for being a dude in a women's restaurant.
I'm a girl!
They've excluded parents from their children's medical decisions.
Maribel Duarte says her 13-year-old son accepted the COVID-19 vaccine at school when someone offered it in exchange for pizza.
And even worse, they're normalizing pedophilia.
Imagine that an adult male wants to have sex with a 12-year-old girl.
Imagine that she's a willing participant.
father frank pavone
It's not obvious to me that it is, in fact, wrong.
unidentified
Sexual assault is swept under the rug.
Our kids are now more depressed and more suicidal than ever.
The left is winning this war.
The only way we fail is if we fail to fight.
And we need our own army.
The parents, the most powerful group of people in our country, we're taking the wheel back.
This is a battle for the very soul of our society.
This is a battle of good versus evil.
And this is a war that we cannot afford to lose.
The left is right about one thing.
It is about our children.
Are you ready to fight?
Join us at American Principals Project.
We are building a political army to save the family and save America.
steve bannon
In the most, the holiest week of the Judeo-Christian calendar, it's both Passover and Holy Week and of course obviously they're inextricably linked.
We're honored.
We're going to have Rabbi Sparrow, I think, on tomorrow or Friday.
We're also going to be joined by some Evangelical Christians, some Orthodox, and more priests from Roman Catholic.
Catholicism, but I want to start kicking off with Father Frank Pavone.
Father, we premiered that spot of Terry Schilling in the Team of American Principals project, and Terry's been on here the last couple weeks a lot with the debacle that was the Judge Jackson nomination process and confirmation hearings.
And Politico today picked up a huge article, in fact I think it was the lead story early this morning on Politico, how they've now targeted, they've said, uh-oh, this American Principles Project is coming into the heart of the culture war and going to turn everything into a culture war, so let's put this on the radar of the left and the mainstream media that Terry Shilling's a bad guy and American Principles Project is, wait for it, dangerous.
Why is this, and particularly this time of year, and a time of reflection about what we stand for and what we are as Christians and Catholics, why is it so important to really think through this culture war where you've been fighting this as priests for life for what, 40 or 50 years of your life since you came over and told your seniors, your superiors, you wanted to dedicate your life to this.
This war is going into an actual, at the very moment where Roe v. Wade may be Well, Steve, you said it perfectly.
father frank pavone
First of all, I can't say enough good about Terry Schilling, American Principles Project.
We've been on the front lines together for years, and this is a badge of honor for him, for his work.
Whenever the left takes this kind of aim at anything that any of us do, we know we're on the right track.
And this week reminds us of that.
You know, this was the week when Jesus Christ, who is truth himself, truth incarnate, stood before Pilate and said, the reason I was born, the reason I came into the world, is to bear witness to the truth.
And then, of course, we remember Pilate's famous statement, what is truth?
And then Pilate, convinced that Jesus had done nothing wrong, even though he didn't understand truth any more than the left today does, they just dismiss it.
But he said to the crowd, hey listen, I find nothing wrong, no guilt in this man, I want to release him.
And then the crowd threw due process out the window, they threw reputation out the window, and they just shouted, We crucify him.
We want Barabbas instead.
So what we're seeing in these days, and we're reliving it, and we're recalling it, is it's really the original cancel culture, if you will, against Jesus Christ.
And it's the same kind of warfare and the same kind of tools.
Let's just raise our voices.
Let's just shout.
Let's just dismiss truth.
Let's just ignore morality.
Let's just be bloodthirsty people who want to assert our power. And Steve, isn't that what we're seeing unfold when we talk about culture wars? We're using those words very deliberately, and it's actually very biblical. It's very consistent with the Catholic faith, with the Christian gospel. Of course it's a war. It's the age-old war between light and darkness, truth and falsehood, good and evil. This is a great
week to recommit ourselves to this war, to recommit ourselves to the fact that there is truth, and for those of us who are followers of Jesus Christ, to worship that truth incarnate in Him.
We'll see you next time.
steve bannon
What is the timing of this in that, you know, you're going to have the Supreme Court decide on Roe v. Wade.
I know all the states and all the activists and people that you work with and dedicate your life with are all, you know, at the state level now working through all the legal technicalities of that.
But having come in the fight because you guys back was against the wall 20 or 30 years ago and really to bring it to where we are on the life movement.
Isn't it ironic that the moment where the life, at least the part of it, looks like a victory in the sunlit uplands that the life movement is winning, not just at the federal level, but going to win across the country, is that now you're at full out war against the American family, and particularly the weaponizing of children, the sexualization, the loss of innocence of children, to use as a weapon to destroy the family.
Father Bravone.
father frank pavone
You know, Steve, I've been saying to people that how is it that we're at the point where we cannot say any longer that a man is a man or that a woman is a woman?
Well, it's because for 50 years, we've been saying a baby is not a baby.
That was the rejection of truth in the level of public policy, unlike anything we had seen before that.
And now it's just it's it's it's evil and it's falsehood maturing.
It's bearing the bitter fruit.
We rejected the child a long time ago, and so now what is left except to weaponize the child, to continue attacking the child in all these new and different ways?
It's no longer possible for the other side to deny that the baby is a baby in the womb, unless they just want to use the same way that they deny a man is a man or a woman is a woman.
But the point is, no rational argument can be made to support what they're saying.
So therefore, they just come out unapologetically and say, well, what we're really about is the destruction of childhood altogether, the destruction of family altogether.
So we can see it as the progression of a bitter fruit that was planted some 50 years ago.
steve bannon
During this week of Holy Week, you talk about recommitment.
What would your recommendation be for this audience, for people?
How do you go about that recommitment?
How should you spend your time this week, and what would be the best way to do it to make sure that people actually recommit themselves?
father frank pavone
Well, depending on what denomination a person belongs to, the churches throughout the Christian world have the most moving sacred ceremonies this week of the entire year.
So I think practically to find out when the church of your own choice is having those services and attend the Holy Week services starting tomorrow, the three most powerful days, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and of course, Easter Sunday.
Go to the services each of those days if you possibly can.
And the services themselves are a recommitment because Steve, you'll remember that What we do at Easter, first of all, we're going to be welcoming new people into the Christian faith as they profess their faith, as they receive the sacrament of baptism.
But then on Easter Sunday, at the Mass, for example, in the Catholic Church, all throughout the world, all the participants of the Mass renew the vows of their baptism.
This is very significant.
Right at the time of the Creed, the priest asks them, do you reject sin?
Do you reject Satan?
Let's prepare to make that public commitment again.
and we say a resounding yes, do you believe?
And then it goes through the main elements of the creed and we get sprinkled with the water.
Let's prepare to make that public commitment again.
Because when we say we reject Satan and all his empty promises, what it means is we're rejecting all this garbage from the left.
It actually means, you know, we're rejecting abortion, we're rejecting this redefinition of marriage and family, we're rejecting all these lies from the left, we're rejecting the agenda that the Democrat Party seems intent on forcing down everyone's throat, we're rejecting that.
And so participating in those ceremonies is.
is a tremendous way.
And then, to ask ourselves one more question, how am I going to participate in these culture wars?
Do I want to take a role in the pro-life movement?
Do I want to take a role in the pro-family, pro-freedom movement?
Do I want to run for school board?
How do I want to get involved in this fight?
This week, in our participation in these ceremonies, a little extra time in prayer is a great time to come to an answer to that question.
And find one way, just make one decision To take part in these culture battles.
There's so many great organizations and ministries that people can connect with, volunteer for, learn from.
Now's the time to make that decision and get involved.
unidentified
Fr.
steve bannon
Frank, how do people follow you?
How do they find out more about you and more about your work, Priests for Life?
father frank pavone
Fr.
Frank Pavone is my handle on all the major social media platforms.
Truth Social, Getter, and all the other ones.
Fr.
Frank Pavone.
And we'll be happy to connect with all of you.
steve bannon
Father Frank, thank you so much for joining us during Holy Week.
father frank pavone
Happy Easter, Steve.
steve bannon
Thank you, sir.
I want to bring in Terry Schilling now.
Terry, walk us through the Politico piece.
What is Politico saying the danger of American Principles Project is, sir?
unidentified
The political article is incredible, Steve.
So essentially they're saying that We've been working with groups across the aisle to break up big tech, right?
This is an issue that's near and dear to not just APP, but anyone who cares about defending the family and politics online, as big tech platforms like Facebook and Twitter and Google have been censoring any voices who affirm that men are men and women are women, or men shouldn't be in women's sports, all of that.
Basically, they're saying that we're being too effective, and it's dangerous for left-wing groups to partner with us on these issues because we might end up convincing them to affirm biological reality and to support the family down the road.
They're basically arguing that we are both bigoted and then also willing to work with people that we disagree with on other issues.
It's a completely incoherent article, but I like it because it gets to the truth of the matter, which is that we are serious about... It's not incoherent.
steve bannon
It's actually pretty smart from their perspective.
They're saying, hey, a lot of you left-wing groups are working with these guys because they're effective in trying to control, because you guys have freedom of speech issues too, in trying to control big tech, but they're a wolf
Essentially in sheep's clothing that they are the leader of this of the bigoted anti-trans the bigoted anti-LGBTQ plus agenda and that beware because you're empowering you're gonna make the more you work with them and the more success they have in that area the more powerful they're going to be in this area which is central to your doctrine is that is that basically the summary of it?
unidentified
That's exactly right.
They're trying to stop any other groups from working with us, and they're actually circulating this now, not just with Democrats, but they're circulating this with some of our key partners on many issues, like Jim Jordan and other Republican members.
So they're saying to the left-wing groups, these guys are radical, and all the trans groups, they're too conservative.
And then they're going to the Republicans, like Jim Jordan, saying, Look at these guys.
They're working with liberals.
It's fine.
We're comfortable.
We've been comfortable in the breach for a long time.
We're willing to fight, and we're battle-tested and ready to go.
steve bannon
Okay.
We know you're battle-tested.
Hang on for a short break.
We've got Dave Brat from Liberty.
We've got Michael Patrick Leahy.
We have Todd Bensman about the border.
We've got a lot of work to get through.
Before we get through today.
Okay, so just strap in, hang on.
You're in the War Room.
Be back after a short commercial break.
unidentified
War Room.
Pandemic.
War Room, pandemic, with Stephen K. Bannon.
The epidemic is a demon and we cannot let this demon hide.
War Room.
Pandemic.
Here's your host, Stephen K. Bannon.
steve bannon
Okay, MyPillow.com, promo code WAROOM.
Remember, this is the official sheets and sleep equipment products for the War Room.

Go to MyPillow.com, put in promo code WAR and we've got the best sales, particularly during the Spring Sale.
Up to 60% off the Giza Dream Sheets, or as low as $39.99.
And of course the pillows at $19.99.
But you go in and you'll see hundreds of products, hundreds of products for sale.
So go check it out today.
Terry Schilling, you're fighting a good fight.
We're going to hear a lot more about this.
And what you're organizing and how we're going to fight this is a major issue for the upcoming campaign.
Not just that, it's taking over the school boards.
Remember there's there's what 13,000 school boards.
I think there's 10 to 13,000 school boards, 90 to 100,000 school board seats.
We need to take that over.
We need to take the election officials over the precinct strategy.
All the way up through the DAs, the Secretaries of State, the Governors, the Attorney Generals, to the House and the Senate, this time.
This is where we have, if you want to end this culture war, you end it with us smashing the Democratic Party at the ballot box.
All they do is talk democracy, democracy, democracy.
We're going to give them all the democracy they want on November 8th.
So Terry Schilling.
And Terry, here's why I think it's so important for American Principles Project, Moms for Liberty, others, because just like we saw in the Jackson confirmation hearings, there's a lot of the traditional right that raise a ton of money that just don't have the stones or the guts for this fight.
And you guys do.
Terry Schilling, any comments, observations?
unidentified
Well, look, these are issues that people are uncomfortable talking about, right?
It's weird to talk about men who are getting these types of operations and identify as a different sex.
But what people misunderstand is that this is exactly where we need to attack.
This is where the left is so vulnerable.
And that's why these hit pieces are coming out about American Principles Project, Calling us bigots.
They want us to stop fighting on this because it is a major vulnerability of the radical American left.
They want us to shut up.
They want us to go away.
I will tell you see the other big thing that that separates APP from everyone else is our willingness to get actually involved in campaigns elections.
You heard this repeated non-stop culture or politics is downstream of culture.
That's not true.
Politics is part of the culture and it's the easiest part of our culture.
We can have the most immediate wins and gains.
When you change the law, you can affect the culture, and that's our whole strategy.
So we're fighting this on the front lines, and we welcome any partners, but we've got to start really investing in campaigns and elections to fight for the family, and we aren't going anywhere.
steve bannon
How do people follow you?
How do they get to you and find out more?
terry schilling
On social media like Getter and Twitter, it's just Schilling1776, and then you can make a donation at AmericanPrinciplesProject.org.
unidentified
We are building this army, and you know, our opponents have billions.
We don't need that, but we do need millions, so we need all the help we can get from the war room.
steve bannon
Okay, thank you very much, Terry Schelling.
Thank you very much for joining us during Holy Week.
unidentified
Thanks, guys.
steve bannon
Appreciate it.
I want to go to Michael Patrick Leahy.
This is playing out all over the free state of Florida, Governor DeSantis, and Michael runs Star News Network, which has a big operation in Florida.
Michael, The Guardian today has a huge article about how It is, and they're in shock, how Ron DeSantis has taken on not just the woke ideology in the school system, he's now pivoted and taken it on directly to the most important company in the state of Florida by going after Disney.
Your thoughts about that, sir?
michael patrick leahy
Well, DeSantis is clearly on a winning streak, and he has an awful lot of popular support down there.
He just won with the state legislature, which said they were going to give a soft redistricting plan.
He vetoed it, and He is now going to put his own plan in, and he'll probably get rid of the highly gerrymandered 5th Congressional District, which stretches all the way from Jacksonville to Tallahassee.
That's a 65-35 Democrat district.
That's likely to go away.
You know, in Florida, which now has added one member of the House of Representatives, it was 16-11, R versus D. It's likely now to go to maybe 18-10 or maybe even 19-9.
Thanks to Governor DeSantis standing strong.
steve bannon
Now on the Disney... Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa 20 to 8 should be 20 to 7 it'll be 20 20 oh man oh man we're scooping we're scooping stars the new no this fight hey it was those numbers for the war room policy got involved in Governor Sanchez what we're all we're the hardest core of the hardcore we admit that no this will be 28 or 21 I think it hopefully hopefully it'll be.
But here's the thing.
The redistricting shows you he stands in the breach and people have his back.
Good things happen.
And I think you're seeing the same thing.
He's taken on the education bureaucracy down there about the attacks on the family using the children.
And now he's gone and really pivoted, which no Republican has ever done before.
He's taken it to Disney itself.
And I think that's why, you know, victory begets victory.
What's happening in the free state of Florida is pretty extraordinary.
All they do is do deregulation and tax cuts, and Disney is what the result is, because these people don't share your values.
They share Hollywood values.
Michael Patrick Leahy.
michael patrick leahy
Yeah, and in Florida, as you know, 55 years ago, the Florida legislature gave a special treatment to Disney to attract them to set up Disney World down there in Orlando.
They created this special Reedy Creek district that, in essence, allows Disney To run Disney World as their own county government, if you will, overseeing or usurping the roles of the regular county.
It's been something that's worked for 54 years or so now, but the leadership of Disney is pushing a very aggressive transgender, pro-gay, woke ideology from California And it's not going over very well right there right now.
And I think there's a reasonable chance that Governor DeSantis may say, OK, all these great tax benefits we gave you, you're not promoting Florida values.
We think we're going to remove those.
That's on the table right now.
It's a long way to get rid of those.
But I think he's definitely serious about it.
steve bannon
Real quickly, Robbie Starbuck, we had him on last night.
What's the reality of what's going on in Tennessee?
Because here's why Tennessee is so important.
Tennessee actually led the way for Florida.
It was the Tennessee legislature and the Speaker of the House there that just told the Governor, hey, we're not doing it your way, we're going to do it our way.
Super MAGA.
I think it inspired, it obviously inspired this audience and I think led to this reversal down in Florida where Governor DeSantis stepped into the breach No, I don't think that's the case at all.
Okay, go ahead.
It's a very, you know, it's a very hot race here on the GOP primary.
and hopefully we're going to get the same result out of Missouri.
Did Robbie Starbuck just catch a bad break in that President Trump, because people around him endorsed Ortega? No, I don't think that's the case at all.
michael patrick leahy
Okay, go ahead. It's a very hot race here on the GOP primary.
TN5, the fifth congressional district, is that new district that has gone from Dem plus 20 to R plus 11.
So a lot of people are interested in it.
Robbie is one of 11 candidates.
There are two processes going on here in Tennessee.
One is the Tennessee Republican Party has bylaws.
And if you don't meet those bylaws as a bona fide, they can remove you from the ballot.
Four candidates have been challenged for not meeting those standards of voting in three out of the four most recent statewide primaries.
One of them is Robbie Starbuck, but the other one is Morgan Ortega.
There are a couple of locals who didn't meet that standard as well.
They're currently off the ballot, according to the Republican Party.
Now, Steve... Yes, but hang on.
steve bannon
Okay, okay.
But you're burying the lead.
It would have never become an issue.
The other three would have never become an issue unless Ortega was endorsed by President Trump and she was so obviously... Okay, fine.
Okay.
This is always going to be challenged anyway?
michael patrick leahy
It's not true for the Republican bylaws.
I think it may have had some impact on the law.
The bill that's being proposed, it's on Governor Bill Lee's desk right now, that would limit the ability of a candidate to run in a primary election for the House of Representatives, had they not lived for three years prior to the primary.
It may have had some impact there.
That bill, the governor is We think it's going to probably allow it to come into law either today or tomorrow.
There will probably be some challenges in court on it, and we'll see how that plays out.
So we've got two lanes going there.
In all likelihood, I think the so-called carpetbaggers, Morgan Ortegas and Robbie Starbuck, are unlikely to be on the ballot, but things could change.
steve bannon
Okay, how do people get to the Star News Network?
I think you've got 11 papers now.
How do people get to it?
michael patrick leahy
Thestarnewsnetwork.com, thestarnewsnetwork.com.
And I'm on Getter now at Michael P. Leahy, also on Twitter.
And then, of course, our flagship is tennesseestar.com, tennesseestar.com.
steve bannon
By the way, you Tennessee folks take that very seriously up there, making sure Tennessee values are going to be in that house race.
I'll tell you, you guys threw down hard.
Absolutely.
michael patrick leahy
People love Tennessee.
Hey, I got one for you.
Ready?
unidentified
Sure.
michael patrick leahy
How about Dollywood, which is from Tennessee, going down to Florida?
I think that some Tennessee values could help out some Florida values.
steve bannon
Well, maybe have a downsizing of Disney in a Dollywood South.
How does that sound?
All I know is my extended family are big fans of Pigeon Forge in Dollywood.
They can't get enough of it.
Oh, it's great!
unidentified
Come on down to Tennessee, the greatest state in the Union.
steve bannon
Gotta tell you, Andrew Jackson, one of my great heroes from the Volunteer State, General Jackson.
Okay, Michael Patrick Leahy, thank you so much for joining us.
michael patrick leahy
His house, the Hermitage, is in the 5th Congressional District.
steve bannon
President Trump went down there, and I've got to tell you, he was absolutely mesmerized on that tour.
He took another hour.
Normally, we just kind of go through those things.
When President Trump went to Hermitage, General Jackson's house in Nashville, it was extraordinary.
Couldn't get enough of it.
I can't recommend highly enough for folks to go there.
It is an incredibly moving experience.
Very moving experience.
michael patrick leahy
People in Tennessee are very proud of their political heritage.
steve bannon
I gotta tell you, it's 20 to 8, Leahy, 20 to 8.
michael patrick leahy
Ah, okay, okay.
unidentified
God, we're scooping, we're scooping, we're scooping.
steve bannon
I'll go with your numbers.
We're scooping.
Okay, Dave Brat, we're going to get to talk about Shanghai with Ben Harnwell.
Todd Benzner is going to tell us about this big press conference today on the border.
All next in The War Room.
unidentified
What's the toughest part about this moment and the increased prices?
The toughest part is just not knowing what the future holds.
Actually, I'm not just a business owner.
I'm a human being.
I have a household.
I have a car, though.
And a new government forecast predicts gas prices this summer will be the highest since 2014.
In Iowa, President Biden's saying he's boosting the sale and production of ethanol blended gasoline as a way to alleviate pain at the pump.
And again, blaming Vladimir Putin's Ukraine invasion.
joe biden
I'm doing everything within my power by executive orders to bring down the price and address the Putin price hike.
unidentified
But in reality, inflation has been soaring above 5% for nearly a year.
And our latest NBC News poll shows just 6% of Americans blame rising prices on the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
38% blame President Biden and his policies.
The president facing criticism from Republicans and a key Democrat, Senator Joe Manchin, writing, the Federal Reserve and the administration failed to act fast enough, calling the response, quote, half measures.

All right, thank you so much.
NBC's Kirsten Welker with that report.
Let's bring in right now former Treasury official and morning show economic analyst Steve Ratner.
Steve, I'm just a little surprised that Joe Manchin is blaming Joe Biden.
People just want an end point.
Do you have one to give them?
What I can say is that people deserve to know that their president That our administration is concerned enough to do something about it.
And so that is what we are doing.
steve bannon
She makes you feel a lot better, doesn't she?
Okay, you're back in the war room.
Steve Ratner, by the way, wants to be Secretary of the Treasury.
He totally dumps all over Biden.
Manchin sums it up, half measures.
We've said this from the beginning, half measures from the Federal Reserve, half measures from the administration.
In fact, the administration continues to throw gasoline on the fire.
We're in Harnem, we'll be back here in a minute from Vatican, talk about Shanghai.
You think the supply chain's been bad before?
You ain't seen nothing yet.
But I want to go first to Liberty University Dean Dave Bratt, former member of Congress, economics professor before that.
Dean Bratt, put some, everything we just heard, it's all happy talk.
It's all happy talk, correct?
Tell us why we got this runaway inflation, sir, and why it's only going to get, and guys made the point, Navarro made a great point yesterday.
This goes back 40 years to 1981.
Well, 1981, the peak was just a culmination of from 73 to 81.
We're in the top of the first inning with this.
Are we not, Dean Bratt, of what they're doing in cranking up the money machine here, sir?
unidentified
Yeah, yeah.
dave brat
Inflation's always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon.
Go to M2, it's going straight up like a hockey stick.
Printed two trillion more dollars.
There's a year lag on that, so there's nothing new there.
There's a new number out, eight and a half.
And the New York Times had an article out today, it wouldn't go to that, their lead piece on inflation.
And of course, the highest piece of inflation is energy, right?
And so now, that leads us into a whole world of new hurt, right?
The energy pieces linked to agriculture, fertilizers, food, rent, cars, everything hits your family.
Have your kid go on an Excel spreadsheet.
And do compounding in reverse, right?
Take 100 bucks up at the top and then take 90% of that down 10 years.
And your $100 at 10% inflation is worth $38.
And then after 20 years, your $100 is worth $13.
So when they said, how does it impact you?
After 20 years, your $100 is worth $13.
So when they said, how does it impact you?
That's how it impacts you.
But the more troubling piece now is that our war, and the longer it goes on and the boycotts, is a demand-side phenomenon, not like the supply side back in the late 70s.
We put ourselves into this.
We've thrown Russia into a cozy relationship with China, our economic and geopolitical enemy.
And so now they're teaming up And we've been spending like the prodigal son, right?
Everybody knows our $30 trillion in debt, $9 trillion on the Federal Reserve money, funny money, propping everything up.
And so what's the end impact of that?
People always used to ask me in Congress, when's this party end, Dave?
We're finally starting to see it and I am not happy about it.
But now we're seeing the rest of the world with Russia and commodities.
Commodities are a new challenge to the U.S.
Bretton Woods monetary order.
We've always had inside money, right?
unidentified
M2.
dave brat
Now people are not trusting M2.
They're not trusting the U.S.
dollar.
And so the whole world is starting to look, where is ultimate certainty?
Where is ultimate credibility?
Like the young man said, where is certainty?
Well, it's in commodities.
And so now there's a threat coming out of Eurasia, right, with China and commodities.
And there's a hot new paper out by Credit Suisse.
I'm sure you've all seen that piece by Zoltan.
And you got to read it, right?
Commodities are collateral.
And if commodities are collateral, commodities are the new money. That's the one place people trust. And so it's not all doomsday, right? Easter's coming up, the ultimate sovereign in the universe is God.
steve bannon
But hold it, but hold it. Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, Zoltan's piece, and I want, we'll get it out for the audience. We're supposed to be in a post-industrial society.
You've got kids on the phones all the time.
We talk about transhumanism, singularity.
We're in a post-industrial society, digital society.
And what Zoltan's saying is that we're essentially going back to 3,000 years ago, before this thing called money even came up.
Because the people, the lords of money, the central banks and the governments have been so, your bettors by the way, deplorables, have been so irresponsible, we're going to go back to 3,000 years and it's basically, when he says commodities, they're real, that's like, in a currency, that's like swapping back in the old days.
I got some wheat, I'll trade you some wheat for a cow, right?
This is what your bettors have done.
Go ahead Dave.
dave brat
Yes, we've lost.
Our Federal Reserve has lost its credibility.
And so the more things move that way, the only redeeming piece is the 10-year bond is equal across China and the U.S.
today.
So that's going to prop up the dollar a bit.
And then China, you know, no, the world doesn't want to hold China remind me, you know, that's not your safety bet.
So I still, there's a long way to go, but our government has to get its act together and voters, anyone that's been voting for this prodigal son spending needs to be voted out.
Go, go look at their voting record five, 10 years ago, not today when everyone's reshuffling the deck.
Go look at the voting records and find out who the good ones are and who's not.
steve bannon
By the way, the new budget they're talking about, the Republicans are talking about another defense increase and they're going to get a social justice war increase.
The party's not going to stop.
Here's what I want to ask you.
There's a way that we can control our own fate and have acts of commission, and there's a way that it just gets forced upon us.
The way to do it is actually have a plan, and people vote for it, and actually go through Congress, and we have a logical plan, and it's going to require pain, but at least we all organize ourselves around it.
There's another way to have the world just jam it down to you, and that is with this de-dollarization.
Because remember, the only way the party keeps going is we can keep this phony thing, we create the bonds, and then we fund the bonds with phony money, right?
It's all phony.
We're owning the debt, but we kind of print the money to make the debt.
It's phony.
If this gets to de-dollarization, This gets to de-dollarization all of a sudden.
You don't have a choice.
It's jammed on the American people.
Dave, how can we actually get a plan that we control our own fate and our fate's not determined by the rest of the world, sir?
dave brat
In that Zoltan piece, he refers to what I've been calling the real economy as well.
I refer to it just in terms of economic growth.
The real economy is made up of capital, labor, human capital, technology.
But now the real economy in this crazy period is composed also of commodities, supply-side shocks, and the like.
You know, agriculture, everything that Russia provides.
And so the way to get our heads back on is to get back to paying attention to our real economy within the U.S.
borders, bringing back jobs from abroad.
It's insane, right?
Finance 101 teaches to diversify, and we shoot all of our, you know, 100% of our industries over to China.
And now all the Fortune 500 folks have finally figured out Russia's a bad guy, but they're still itching to get to China, so they haven't done the morality and ethics on that piece.
I mean, it's just, it's a joke, right?
They have to admit that once Russia's killing everybody, that's morally reprehensible, but China's backstopping them.
And so we need to bring the investment back to the United States, put our people to work, and we can prosper like we always have.
steve bannon
It's not simply the assassin, it's who's financed the assassin's bullet, okay?
Always remember that.
It's not simply the assassin, it's who underwrites the assassin's bullet.
I want to go to, you say it's morally wrong, let's even leave the morals aside, the practicality.
I want to bring in Ben Bernkmal at the Vatican.
Ben, just walk us through what's happening in Shanghai right now, even as we speak, sir.
ben harnwell
Shanghai is obviously the biggest port in the world.
And if one just remembers the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, the principal inflationary shocks to hit the world economy in the early days of that were due entirely to the shipping delays at ports.
So what's going on in Shanghai right now ought to give us a moment of very serious and profound reflection. And what is happening in China? Well, one week ago we reported here on the wall room that 23 cities had shut down with 193 people under lockdown of one day or another. Now, one week on, it's basically doubled, Steve. 45 cities now in China are under
lockdown and that's around 375 million people.
So if you think about the shipping problems and the logjams of production of raw materials and all the rest of it that we saw two years ago, what's going to happen now is just going to exacerbate an already very precarious situation.
steve bannon
Dave, I want to go back to Brett.
We got you about a minute or two.
Dave, here's the thing is that we have the agony of the people in China.
Some of this video we're seeing, we're trying to verify.
I mean, people killing themselves, they're locked down, they're starving to death.
I mean, it's insane what's happening.
But once we have a supply, a mega supply chain problem, not even one as bad as it was from the pandemic, but one where Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Uh, which is Old Canton.
And Shanghai starts shutting down.
How does that, what does that affect the American people as far as inflation goes, Dave Brat?
dave brat
Yeah, well, it's a massive problem.
I mean, again, to beat a dead horse, none of this will cause inflation if the Fed doesn't accommodate it and print, you know, $2 trillion.
So if those prices go up, Americans, if there's no more money, have to substitute toward other goods.
But that's painful.
But yeah, what you're bringing up again is the real economy and all the mistakes we've made in shoving all of our businesses abroad, you know, from our pharmaceuticals to everything.
The Chinese are buying our land.
The Bank of America today says, you know, well, I don't think we're quite ready to start buying China again.
Right.
I mean, they just can't wait to sink their hooks into a $20 trillion economy again.
And so it does bring back the morality play, right?
If we're doing a morality play on Ukraine and all this kind of thing, and Russia, well, it's time for Americans to wake up and do the morality play on their consumption habits with respect to China.
And in the midterm, yeah, we're going to have inflation that goes up, up, up, up and away.
And there's pain coming.
And then growth is going to go down, right?
We've had all the good news up front.
So there's no good decisions anymore.
People always say, Dave, what would you do?
I say, I wouldn't have got us in this ditch in the first place.
And so that's on us, the American voters.
We have allowed ourselves to be put in this ditch.
And we got low growth and an unproductive economy, runaway inflation.
As I've said before, the economy is a white corpse laying on the table.
We've infused $30 trillion in stimulus from government spending and $9 trillion in funny money into that corpse to keep it lifelike.
But we got serious work to do.
steve bannon
The frankest I can be.
Dean Dave Bratt, thank you for joining us on Holy Week for your assessment of the runaway inflation.
I appreciate it.
Thank you, sir.
Dean Dave Bratt of Liberty University.
Good place to send your kids if you want to get a real education under Dean Bratt down there.
Okay, short break.
Ben Harnaw at the Vatican.
We're going to try to talk to Todd Bensman about the border all next in The War Room.

Okay, welcome back.
Big development down in Texas.
Todd Bensman came off a sick call to join us.
Todd, thank you so much.
Give us a few minutes on, and I appreciate you changing your schedule for this.
What's happening in Texas?
There's a press conference with Abbott today.
Tell us what's going on.
todd bensman
Well, as we've been reporting, the governor of Texas has put in place a completely disruptive trade embargo, for lack of a better term against Mexico by doing the safety inspections at all of the major bridge crossings, and they've effectively shut it down.
The Mexican truckers have responded by blocking U.S.
traffic at the Laredo Bridge and also at the Far Bridge, P-H-A-R-R, and at the El Paso Bridge, so trade is shut down completely north and south Right now at those bridges.
And this is all because Abbott is doing these safety inspections that they're taking their good time creating these backlogs.
And that's in response to Title 42.
They're going to drop Title 42.
They want the Mexicans to shut down migration.
This appears to have now brought the governor of Nuevo Leon to the bargaining table, at least.
And the press conference is to announce something to do with an agreement between Abbott and the governor of Nuevo Leon to moderate or control the flow of migration over that border.
We'll see what it actually turns out to be.
It's way too early at this point to see if it's real.
I'm looking to know whether or not it's going to be real.
steve bannon
So today we had the first buses, and I think Fox has got that up, we'll show you the article, the first bus drop with a handful of illegal aliens getting off the bus and kind of wandering around over by, I think, the reflecting pool right over by the mall.
That's purely performative.
Abbott, this, and I don't know why Arizona and others are not doing this.
I mean, he's basically making it impossible with these inspections by the Texas Rangers and Department of Public Safety.
The trucks.
He's backed them all up.
It is an economic embargo.
What do you think?
Do you have any idea of what they would talk about?
Because, I mean, what obviously the war room and the war impasse, what we think for our sovereignty is to have like, say, hey, nobody comes across.
Do you think Abbott's going to be that tough today?
todd bensman
Well, we'll see.
Look, the Mexican, the states of northern Mexico have a lot of power over this if they want to apply it.
There are state police.
that are heavily armed and well-equipped that can block off the highways along which migrants come.
Highway 85, Mexican Highway 40, those go through Tamaulipas to the Rio Grande Valley.
That's how all the migrants are getting there.
So if the state of Nuevo Leon wanted to, they could put up roadblocks on those and bring buses up and Take the migrants on the buses and head them back south to Guatemala if they want it, or to the next state.
They've probably caused some trouble.
We'll see if anything like that is happening.
steve bannon
Remember, Laredo is the biggest crossing in the United States with 2.6 million vehicles a year.
Todd, what's your social media?
We're going to bother you again at 5 o'clock to get an update on what happened with Abbott.
It's a pretty big development, and the Texas officials are pushing this out big time as a major press conference.
Todd, what's your social media?
Because you're up 24-7, even when you're sick, on Getter and on Twitter.
todd bensman
T. Bensman at Getter and Bensman Todd on Twitter.
T. Bensman on Getter, though.
steve bannon
Thank you, brother.
Look forward to bugging you again at 5 o'clock.
Todd Benzman, always there 24 hours a day.
Rain or shine, sick or not.
Thank you, sir.
Okay, Ben, thank you very much for hanging out for two hours in St.
Peter's Square.
Many of us would love to join you there.
Give us your closing thoughts.
I know you're not going to do your live show today because you've been with us for two hours.
Give your closing thoughts on today at the Vatican, sir.
ben harnwell
So today, Steve, as we work our way through Holy Week, it's Holy Wednesday.
It's the last day before we hit the sacred triduum tomorrow, which is Father Pavone was saying, that's Monday, Thursday, Good Friday, and then Holy Saturday.
Today, the theme of the liturgy is, traditionally, the day is called Spy Wednesday.
So the theme is the betrayal of Judas.
And in terms of the liturgy, the famous component today is the Tenebrae responses of the liturgy, which has the candles which go out one by one and leaving the church in darkness.
And that's what the Latin word refers to.
And that starts today.
It will be tomorrow and Good Friday itself.
And that's a very evocative, atmospheric part of the liturgy. And in fact, when when choirs sing that, they'll occasionally do it where one voice will drop out one by one, leaving only the soloist and then silence. So that's the liturgy. That's the theme, the betrayal of Judas.
I'll be back tomorrow here at the Vatican, tomorrow for Maundy Thursday.
steve bannon
Ben Harnwell, real quickly, how do people get you on Getter?
ben harnwell
Yep, it's that's where I'm banging out my analysis of these stories that I touched on today on the show.
I'll be doing that, sort of, basically.
You don't give me an opportunity to take a pause, so this is basically 24-7, the analysis that goes out.
It's on my profile, which is at Harnwell.
It's my surname.
And that's where I'll be.
So I look forward to joining you all there.
I do read every comment that comes in to my profile, Steve, on AtHarnwell.
I do read it.
steve bannon
So let's make sure people comment a lot on Ben's AtHarnwell and Getter.
Okay, thank you very much, Ben Harnwell.
Look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
ben harnwell
Thanks, Steve.
God bless.
steve bannon
Pack day today.
Five o'clock and six are going to be absolutely jammed wall-to-wall.
Make sure you're back with us.
We're going to talk a lot about the invasion of the United States of America.
That's a border.
We care about the sovereignty, the self-determination and, wait for it, the territorial integrity of our southern border.
