| The Mitch McConnell Senate's got 19 collaborators. | ||
| They caved on this phony infrastructure bill. | ||
| And 480 billion dollars is the backroom deal that was cut that Mitch McConnell didn't tell any of the Senate. | ||
| The Senators understand the wrath of the people. | ||
| So here's the number. | ||

| And what he's doing is going back to the American people to get more capacity on the credit card. | ||

| And if there was any doubt about the role of Osama bin Laden in the September 11th attacks, his threats to America tonight were a chilling reminder of his hatred. | ||
| NBC's Jim Mikloshefsky is at the Pentagon tonight, the latest on the early strikes and the continuing action in that part of the world. | ||

| I want to bring in now Sam Faddis, a 20-year veteran of the CIA. | ||
| Wrote an amazing book called The Decline and Fall of the CIA, I think about 10 years ago. | ||
| And also 10 years additionally to other intelligence services in defense of our country. | ||
| So a 30-year veteran and a frequent contributor here to the War Room. | ||
| Sam, 20 years ago today we started CIA paramilitary special forces along with obviously airstrikes rolled up Afghanistan in the in the bad guys in about what six weeks four or five six weeks here we are 20 years later you notice the mainstream media is not talking about this today you know Biden's not taking the victory lap that they had hoped to take | ||
| Given the fact that Biden has helped create a terrorist super state with the Haqqani Network, Al Qaeda, ISIS, and the Taliban. | ||

| Yeah, well, look, we betrayed everybody that fought and bled and died along the way, starting with the eight guys who got on an old Russian helicopter and went across the border into Afghanistan. | ||
| I think Less than ten days after 9-11, the first CIA guys were on the ground there. | ||
| Some of them didn't come home. | ||
| Some of the folks were killed from the outset. | ||
| Folks were killed right up until the very end. | ||
| We betrayed them all. | ||
| Like you say, we haven't ended anything. | ||
| We made this infinitely worse. | ||
| These guys are more powerful than ever, and they are emboldened now. | ||

| 20 years ago, we had a very kind of thought through plan about how to do this and how to do it with a small footprint, how to be absolutely lethal with with lead put right on the targets that we wanted. | ||
| How did we spend $2.2 trillion, what, 2200 combat casualties from service members, I think another 4000 of contractors. | ||
| And you know what, 20,000 wounded and leave with a terrorist super state we have today, which was nothing what Afghanistan was 20 years ago. | ||
| How did that happen? | ||
| Yeah, well, we totally lost our way. | ||
| We went in, we had a laser-like focus, right? | ||
| We're there to get rid of Al Qaeda and topple the Taliban. | ||
| We did that. | ||
| And what I would submit was probably the most brilliant military campaign the United States has carried out since World War II. | ||
| And then all of a sudden we transitioned to, you know, while we're here, let's transform Afghanistan into Switzerland and Central Asia, teach them about gender equality and take on every other task of, you know, keeping in mind that we're dealing with a country that's only arguably a nation state to begin with. | ||
| And we pour blood and treasure into that insane venture for 20 years. | ||
| What we should have done was put somebody on the throne, if you will, back in 2001. | ||
| Leave behind a handful of guys and remain focused on one thing. | ||
| You guys never again are a launching pad for attacks in the U.S. | ||
| Other than that, do whatever you want up in these mountains with your goats and so forth. | ||
| We're not taking on that task. | ||
| But, you know, let's keep in mind, along the way, a lot of corporations made trillions of dollars off of this venture. | ||
| So they probably don't think it was a failure. | ||
| They probably would like to start another one tomorrow. | ||

| 450 years ago, sir, a massive victory, the Battle of Lepanto, one of the most important battles in history and one of the most important naval battles. | ||
| Tell our audience, what happened and why is it important today? | ||
| Sure, Steve. | ||
| It's important today to begin with because it's a wonderful way to contrast how Western heroes actually dealt with the threat of Islam, in particular, or any foreign threat. | ||
| In general, in contrast with what's happening today, at any rate, on this day in history, 450 years ago, the Turks sent out one of their largest armadas ever to conquer the island of Cyprus, which since the time of King Richard Lionheart, around 1290, he had conquered it, had become a bastion of crusader forces versus all the Islamic world and the Holy Land and so forth. | ||
| So, they wanted to put it out of commission and in 1571, on this date, They set out and the Christians all, you know, it was understood this was a life and death thing because if they took it they would sever the lifeline and completely control the Mediterranean and so forth. | ||
| But all these maritime states spearheaded by the Spaniards and the Italians and many other local national groups combined and basically long and short of it is in Lepanto somewhere off the coast of Greece. | ||
| Close to Cyprus, you had something like 300 boats, that's how big the fleets were, both of them combined, 300, and something like 150,000 men clash and fight. | ||
| And it was very bloody and so forth, but it's also interesting right before this battle, what the Turks were doing in Cyprus. | ||
| For example, after offering to the defenders of Cyprus, the Christian defenders, that if they'd capitulate, they could leave unmolested, unkilled, and so forth, they reneged, took the actual commander, chopped his nose off, chopped his ears off, Skinned him alive and before that told him to convert to Islam and mocked him and said where's your Christ now and so forth it's all in the primary sources and the Christians heard of this as they were coming and it really enraged them and they also heard of what they were how they were desecrating all the churches in Cyprus and so forth and | ||
| The battle went on and the Christians actually won, even though they were outnumbered, as usual, against the Turks. | ||
| And basically the man who mutilated the fort commander, cutting his nose and so forth, whose name is Ali Pasha, he ended up getting his head chopped off and put on a pike. | ||
| And that's when all the Ottoman, the Turkish defenders ran off when they saw that. | ||
| And it was a glorious day because up until then, the Turks were really dominating and destroying all of Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean, all the Balkans. | ||
| They had already taken all the way up to Hungary. | ||
| But yet, despite all that, and it was a great moral boost, even a century later, the Turks were still making advances. | ||
| This battle didn't even liberate Cyprus, which stayed under Ottoman rule. | ||
| And a hundred years later, they're already at 300,000 men besieging Vienna on another pivotal date, usually attributed to September 11th. | ||
| So going back to the first point of attributing, when you really read the sources, it's amazing to see the self-sacrifice of these men and their goals. | ||
| They had something to fight for. | ||
| They were fighting for their faith, their family, their country, their culture. | ||
| We don't see that today and that's why I think when you move on to the modern era, as you will after this segment, you're going to be dealing with the antithesis of these sorts of men. | ||
| I just want to give people a heads up. | ||
| You're actually writing a book that goes back to kind of that source material and talks about these heroes that really led us in times gone by in history. | ||
| What it took, what sacrifices they had, and what they did to actually move us forward as a civilization, correct, in these great battles. | ||
| Absolutely. | ||
| It's forthcoming. | ||
| It's called Defenders of the West, and it's a profile of eight of these men, including the aforementioned Richard Lionheart and many other fellows. | ||
| And again, it's interesting to see their battles, the historical battles they had, and how much heart, how much self-sacrifice and really altruism for their world, their religion, their people, their civilization. | ||
| And I think it stands in stark contrast To what we see with our leaders today, who, like I said, are the antithesis and, you know, could care less if not are actively hating and trying to subvert and undermine their civilization, which is ours. | ||
| See, we're going to go to that next, but this is, I want to tie together the initial CIA and military, all the combat casualties, the heroes. | ||
| At the operational level, we have heroes today like we had back then. | ||
| Think of the sacrifice of the folks that went to Afghanistan 20 years ago. | ||
| Absolutely courageous. | ||
| In a war that became the Forgotten War for 20 years, continue to fight, including 13 brave heroes. | ||
| 13 brave heroes killed on the last couple of days while we were there in this pathetic and disgraceful withdrawal. | ||
| So, Raymond, thank you very much. | ||
