Time Text
you you If you're receiving this transmission
you are the resistance the Declaring war on the New World Order.
truth radio show.com and welcome to truth radio show.com I'm your host, Dan McDonaghy.
And welcome to this in-depth comprehensive study of the Bible.
And we are now on to the book of 1 Thessalonians, Paul's letter to the Thessalonian church, chapter 1.
So I just want to remind you all, if you haven't noticed already, we do Matthew all the way up into 1 Thessalonians here in our playlist.
So I would encourage you to go watch those.
But if you're new to this broadcast, welcome.
And also, We do want to point out, again if you're new to this broadcast, we do this at every single video we do.
And what we do is we cover one chapter at a time.
We do a whole video devoted to one chapter.
So in this case, First Thessalonians chapter 1.
And we don't just read through the Bible.
If you're looking for somebody just to read the Bible for you, you got the wrong place.
You know, normally it would take people two, three minutes to read a chapter.
We don't do that here.
We literally examine every little thing possible.
Look up meanings of words, all that stuff, and pull out all the meat and potatoes, the full context of the Scripture.
And we do a specific Bible study approach, which is very important to do.
And these four steps here is very important.
Three steps, actually.
To pray for wisdom and understanding, read the Bible in context.
Because context is key.
Something that most religious churches don't do.
And let the scripture interpret scripture.
That means let the Holy Spirit interpret it for you.
So let's begin with the prayer.
So Lord Jesus, Yeshua Messiah, we are blessed once again to dive into your word in 1 Thessalonians 1.
And first of all, we want to confess our sins, each of us individually, to confess our sins, any trespasses, transgressions, or abominations to any of us may have done today.
I ask on my behalf and people praying us on their behalf to forgive our sins and wash our sins clean with your precious blood and that we may repent from sins and we know your blood is remission of sin and we thank you for advocating for us and thank you for everything you did and still do for us Lord and Heavenly Father come before you before your throne and to say we love you with all heart and soul
And we ask you to send your divine Holy Spirit so He can write your word upon our hearts today.
And today is 1 Thessalonians chapter 1.
To write it upon our hearts, to reveal to us all the mysteries, all the truth, and everything that we can squeeze out in context of your scriptures today.
And we pray for everybody that's going through any kind of pain or anguish or spiritual, physical, any kind of problems at all.
We pray that you could help them Lord and comfort them and also protect this platform.
Protect the show, this broadcast I should say.
protect me and everybody here watching from the forces of evil, and give us a clear understanding of your awesome word.
In your mighty name we pray, amen.
So guys, welcome to the broadcast again.
We read the Bible in context, because context is key, and let the scripture interpret scripture.
So, and like I say all the time, don't ever take my word or anybody else's word for it.
You need to read it for yourself, because it's very important to do that.
So, ShakenWakeRadio.com carries a show and an audio edition.
So, if you're listening on ShakenWakeRadio.com, pause this or whatever you have to do, or have your Bible ready, and open the Bible, because I want you to read it for yourself.
And those watching on my YouTube channel, and eventually I'm going to put this on Rumble as well.
We got the Bible up on screen, the King James edition.
So we read the King James in Geneva, we never read the New Testaments.
We did show us on Spiritual Warfare Friday, so... Anyway, this is Paul.
Let's begin here.
Paul and Silvanus and Timothus.
And I do apologize, some of these names I can't pronounce.
So if you're looking for that perfect speaker, somebody who's well-polished, you got the wrong place.
I butcher names and all that stuff, but I try to get the Holy Spirit to speak through me.
So Paul and Silvanus and Timothus, on to the church of Thessalonians, which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ, grace be upon you.
And I also want to point out guys, when this show here premieres, we do have a live chat.
So if you're not signed up to YouTube guys, please do.
This way you can fellowship in the chat.
We highly encourage you guys to fellowship with each other in the live chat.
And if the show is later on, you know, you miss the premiere, we do got a comment section.
So if you want to leave a comment, questions, concerns, anything you want, put it in the comment section.
So the live premiere we usually do these shows every Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 6 p.m.
Eastern.
So we try to stick to that schedule now.
On my backup YouTube channel you'll see these shows premiere on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 p.m.
Eastern.
So the primary channel which we're on now.
Try to watch the premieres this way you can engage in the live chat.
Verse 2, we give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in prayer.
So Paul is always praying for these churches, as we went through the Colossians, you know, Ephesians, and all that stuff.
So it's basically the same intro, basically, to all these churches.
But Paul, right, if you understand Paul right, each letter to each church, instead of cutting, pasting, or copying what I used to say back then, he writes to each church for individual purposes.
I think it was the church of uh, what would I say, uh, uh, I think Colossians, oh I forgot which one it was, that there was division in the church.
He addressed the church because of that.
In Rome was other things too, like homosexuality going on in the area and all that stuff.
About each church's, uh, specific problems he, uh, addresses that's going on in those churches.
And also encouraging the church leaders to keep the faith and all that.
So, verse 3, remembering without seizing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, and the sight of God in our Father.
So, laboring as, you know, it's hard work.
It really is.
And even here, I mean, when I do these shows here, it's hard work.
But it's great.
I love it.
And Paul said he's a slave to this work.
Not that he's a slave because, you know, being bonded, he's a slave.
That he doesn't like that he's a slave because he loves to do it.
You know what I mean?
Like, yeah, I love doing this stuff.
Yeah.
So I devoted to this.
You know what I mean?
So it's not nonstop.
You know, he needs to learn stuff and everything else.
And it's a lot of work to do this, which, you know, it's well worth it because if Jesus Christ could come and die for us, you know what?
I'm going to devote time for him.
That's the least I could do.
Especially me being a sinner and all that stuff.
And doing stupid things all the time.
And you know, repenting to God every day.
You know what I mean?
This is the least I could do for them.
So, remember without ceasing of your work.
You know, like the constant work you're doing.
I'm just saying.
And labor of love.
In patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
In other words, keeping the faith in Jesus Christ.
And keep our eyes on the prize.
The sight of God in our Father.
Knowing, brethren and beloved, your election of God.
You know what I mean?
Your service of God, right?
For our gospel came not unto you in the word only, but also in power and in the Holy Ghost.
Now this is something, okay, I'm going to point this out.
I gotta point this out, right?
So, this is how great this scripture is, right?
So, let me read the verse and I'll point something out.
For our gospel came unto you, and you need to really pay attention to this.
That's why we read this slow and examine it.
Because if you skim through this, um, where was it?
Oh wow, it's only 10 verses.
So, we could probably do this in 30 seconds.
A minute, you know what I mean?
That's not what we do here, you know?
So let's really peel this out.
Let's peel the onions, the loins of your legs back, right?
So, for our gospel came not to you in the word only, in other words, not just the letters in the book, right?
The Bible.
It's not only that, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance that we know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
So, what does this mean?
As we pointed out in the last several books with Paul here, right?
How many times does Paul say, this word here, right?
It's not just, you know, if we open the Bible, yes, it's just text and link and paper, whatever.
It's not that, it's the power within it, the Word of God.
And to really know the Bible, it needs to be written upon on your heart by the Holy Spirit, as Paul points out.
See, it's not just the word, you know, the gospel, right?
Okay.
Which is the physical book, but also the power, because God's word is power.
Sure, the Bible, yeah, I mean, like the Bible you have in your hand or something, it's just a book, but the words in it emanate His power.
And you can never know the Bible unless you have the Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost to write upon your heart.
Now, and I'm going to point this out again, and I don't mean to disrespect you.
If you spent four, eight years, whatever the case, in college to become a scholar or seminary school to become this or that, you need to understand this, alright?
You cannot learn the Bible, the spiritual applications of the Bible, which is not even taught in seminary or college or universities.
They just teach the text and try to, you know, get the theologian point of view.
Which is nothing wrong with it, don't get me wrong.
But, it doesn't mean you know the Bible.
If somebody is a priest of the past, even me, it doesn't mean we know the Bible.
Unless the Holy Ghost writes it upon your heart.
This is a spiritual application that Paul constantly points out.
So does Jesus.
So you can go blow thousands and thousands of dollars, spend all those years in school to get a piece of paper to say you're a scholar, or a professor, or a theologian, or whatever in case you want to call yourself, right?
A title given to you by man, a piece of paper given to you by man.
And again, I'm not discouraging you from doing that, but it means nothing to the Lord.
It doesn't mean you know the Bible because mankind deems you an expert.
It doesn't mean you know the Bible better than anybody else.
People who have the Holy Ghost write the Word upon their hearts, they know the Bible better than anybody in college.
That relies only on that situation.
Now, if you do get a college degree and all that stuff, everything mentioned, you'd be a scholar, right?
And if you do get the Holy Ghost that writes it upon your heart, you're golden!
But, I'll just point out to the people who gloat all the time, because a lot of these people are scoffers, they'll, oh, I got a degree, I went to Catholic school, whatever, it doesn't mean nothing.
Especially the people who bash the Bible, that have those.
Unless you have the Holy Ghost that spiritually writes it upon your heart.
You don't know the Bible.
I'm still learning it because, you know, I read it a couple of times before.
But I never read it with the Holy Ghost written upon my heart.
As I'm doing now.
When I started this Bible series, guys, I started it with you guys, so.
I didn't go pre-read this to study this.
No, I'm just learning as I go.
Let the Holy Spirit speak through me, and we examine words.
And if you don't know what a word means, I'm going to point this out to new listeners too.
I say this all the time.
If you're in a Bible study or whatever the case, are you reading through the Bible, if you don't know what a word means, or you're guessing it, stop right there.
Very important to go over to Google, right?
And type in, just say, um, faith.
And make sure you always put Bible meaning.
Because words change over the centuries.
Trust and confidence in action.
So you need to know the Biblical meaning of the word.
Not nowadays, because it changes a little, right?
So, even if you're, and I'm sorry to preach myself to frequent listeners, Sorry to sound redundant, but we always also must, you know, know this.
If you're in a Bible study and somebody's like, oh, you know, reading through the gospel, if you don't know what something means, stop them right there.
Because that one word, right, that one word that you don't know what it means, it can literally change the outcome of the rest of it.
Because you're sitting there guessing what that means and you're not going to understand the rest.
The context is special.
So I stopped and said, could you please explain what that word means?
If they say, oh, I'll take questions later.
It's like, no, I need you to do it now, because I can't go any further without knowing what that means.
That's how you do a Bible study.
Not somebody that'll sit there and just read the Scriptures.
That's not a Bible study.
A Bible study is to know what the word means, point it out, answer questions about that.
You know, of course, off-subject, you tell them, wait.
But if they need questions about what the certain word means or whatever the case, or what is you really talk about?
Answer them.
Get into the word, you know what I mean?
Like literally, look what that word means, look it up, so you know yourself.
I do this all the time, because sometimes I forget what something means or whatever.
Don't be ashamed, because I know people like, oh, I don't want to look like a fool in front of all these people.
You know what?
Too bad, look like a fool then.
And you're not being a fool because that's wise to do that.
So, because I'm sure there's other people that question it, but they're too embarrassed to ask.
So stop them right there and say, hey listen, I need to know what that means.
That being said, you guys listening right now, if you don't know what something means and I don't give you the understanding, these are the scriptures here, stop, pause it right there, put in the comment section, hey Dan, you know, whatever minutes and seconds you're talking about, verse 5 or something, I need further clarification on that.
I'll get back to you.
So this is what, you know, I wish I could, I should do these live, to be honest with you, but I think I'm gonna start doing that soon.
So, anyway, again, for our gospel came not unto you in the word only, very important to understand this, right?
It's not just this, you'll read in the text half, but also in power, this power behind that word.
It was God's power when he spoke, let there be light, right?
His power behind that word created it.
It wasn't just the utterance out of his mouth.
The power behind that, that's what you need to understand.
And this is where people who rely only on academia, and Bible scholars, or scoffers I should say, can't understand, they can't comprehend this.
And there's a lot of theologians and scholars out there who don't have the spiritual understanding of the Scriptures.
They know the Scriptures, but they don't know the Scriptures, if that makes sense to you.
They don't understand the power that's behind that text that you're reading off the Bible.
The power behind that, the same power when God said, let there be light.
It wasn't just the words that come out of my wisdom, what was behind it.
Like in other words, right now, right?
And a lot of people do this, like, you know, I try to help people with sleep paralysis and, you know, demonic things.
Unbelievers, they're like, well, so I did that before, I called upon Jesus, nothing happened.
Well, why did nothing happen?
Because you didn't have faith behind that.
Jesus explained as we went through the scriptures, right?
Jesus explained, like that woman tried to grab his tassel, his garment, to be made clean.
Because she couldn't get to him because it was locked.
She goes, if you don't touch this garment, I'll be made clean again.
When she finally did, Jesus told her, listen, it wasn't the garment that made you clean.
It was your faith in me that made you clean.
So you could utter all day long, in the name of Jesus, be gone.
You know, demonism, right?
It's not going to work unless you have faith behind it.
Or you can pray to Jesus, Oh Jesus, I need help with money for food in my house.
If there's no faith behind it, it's empty words.
That's the power that Paul's talking about here.
It's the power behind the word.
You can't just utter something out.
You need to have faith behind that word to make it powerful.
I deal with this all the time.
A lot of people come to me and say, Dan, I prayed and nothing works.
I'm like, did you have faith behind that prayer?
Well, yeah, well, yeah, exactly.
You need to have faith, that's the power behind the word.
Yeah, all day long you go read the Bible out loud.
If you don't have faith, the power behind it, and it's not through you, it's through God.
If there's no power behind a word, it's useless, it's meaningless.
And if you suffer from, you know, demonic or spiritual attacks, and you call out the name Jesus to get them out of that, if there's no faith behind that, no severe conviction, yeah, you're just uttering words.
But it's the faith behind it.
That's something these sacred names can't understand either.
They gotta say Jesus Yahushua the way they want you to say it, or he's not gonna hear it.
You know, it's the faith behind the name that's given in every language.
That's another story all together, but anyway.
So Paul's saying it's not just the Word here, but also the power.
It's the power in the Word.
In the Holy Ghost.
He's the one who writes the point of the heart, as Paul stated in prior books.
And as much as assurance, like we could be assured that through the power behind the Word and the power of the Holy Ghost, right?
Right in the point of the heart, we could be assured.
As we know what man of men we were among you for your sake.
And you became followers of us, and of the Lord having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost.
So, affliction, right?
Let's, uh, we'll use this for example, right?
So, affliction in this context, right?
Bible meaning affliction, right?
Means a state of pain and suffering that can be caused by mental distress or physical infirmity.
And attacks from Satan, persecution, divine purposes and sin and all that, judgment of God.
So, what do you have?
So he said, you've become followers of us in the Lord and receiving the word in much affliction.
In other words, you've got to suffer persecution, but you've got to endure it, you know what I mean?
And here's the thing I want to point out, guys.
If you're suffering persecution for your faith right now, If you're suffering, like, trials and all that stuff, right?
People turning against you?
You should not, at all, be despaired about that.
You should wear that as a badge of honor.
Because guess what?
The more you get targeted, the more you get your name run through the mud and all that, guess what?
The more you get persecuted, that means you're doing your job.
When Stephen, right?
We read when Stephen, you know, the apostle, replaced, uh, what's his name now?
That betrayed Jesus?
Right?
When they brought him up to death, he was over exceedingly in joy.
And why would you say, why would they do that?
Why would he be there?
Because he's going to be face death.
Because he knew he was very effective for the Lord.
Same thing with Paul here.
Before Paul's killed, he's excited about it.
Because he knew he was doing his job.
The more you get punished, or whatever the case, not punished, I'm sorry.
Persecuted, you know you're doing your job.
Where it is a badge of honor.
And I'm sorry, it was Judas Iscariot that betrayed Jesus.
Sometimes I just forget names because there's so much information, you know?
So yeah, and you became followers of us in the Lord having received the word in as much affliction.
Affliction, yeah, but with joy of the Holy Ghost.
You make the Holy Ghost happy.
What are you doing your job?
So that you were in samples to us that believe in Macedonia and uh uh Chia.
Again I butcher these names yeah?
So let's see what in samples because I don't know what in samples means.
So and guys don't be afraid of people laughing at you because I know some people are like oh look at this fool doesn't know what that means.
So don't ever be afraid of shame.
In samples means proceeded to be followed, illustrative, instant, or patterned model.
Let's see if that's in French.
That's not the biblical.
Is it?
Yeah, second, make sure I spelled that right.
In samples.
Yeah, I spelled that right.
So.
Yeah, it appears sometimes it's hard to find you know, I mean they whatever the case, but it's worth it because To know what a word means is very important.
That's what a Bible study is Example instance, so that's a today's meaning I Sample always refers to a man's characteristics or behavior.
Sample applies to the intimate product.
So yeah, basically living by example.
So that you were living by example to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
You know, they're not believing in these, but the people in Macedonia and Achaia That believe.
That's what it's saying.
It doesn't mean they believe in these cities yet.
They said these people in the cities believe in Jesus.
You know what I mean?
So I just want to point that out because this is old English.
Sometimes people take it the wrong way.
That's what the point of the Bible study is.
You know, in-depth comprehensive.
So, in verse 8.
From you sounded out the word of the Lord, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God's word is spread abroad.
So that we need not to speak anything.
Okay.
So he's saying, because you guys go out and spread the gospel throughout the world, in today's world, right?
We spread the gospel throughout the world, and they would spread it to the Middle East and Europe and all that, right?
That in every place your faith to God is spread abroad.
So having faith in God and showing it, right, is leading by example.
And spreading the gospel.
And if you're kind to people, you help people, even your enemies, right?
The people that hate you, you kill them with kindness.
People say, why is he so kind to them?
He's always treating them like crap.
It shows and it filters down on the person because after a while their parents are like, you know what?
I treated this guy and woman like crap all these years and they're still nice to me.
And it changes people.
Maybe not right away.
But also you don't let people take advantage of you either.
That's the other thing too.
So about showing kindness and mercy, you know that?
Leads by example and they're like, wow, this guy or woman is really nice.
Then they find out you're a believer in Jesus.
Then I probably go, like, you know, most of the time, like, yeah, wow, maybe I should give the Bible a shot.
Verse 9, for they themselves show us, show of us, what manner of entering and what we had unto you.
And how you turn to God from idols to serve the living God and true God.
So they show themselves, right, of us what manner of entering and we, right, unto you and.
Entering we onto you.
Basically showing, like, again, like this is like probably another example, leader by example, right?
That they used to serve idols and all that stuff, now they serve the living God, the true God.
Basically a change, like they see a change in you guys.
Like he's saying to these people now, uh, believers in this church.
That they show them so, so, of us, I'm sorry, what manner of entering and what we had onto you.
And how you've turned to God from idols to serve the living God, the living true God.
So, yeah, basically, you know, like Jesus talks about, you know, bearing your fruit.
You know, obviously people say, well, we're not saved by works and all that stuff.
No, we're not.
But Jesus says you need to do works.
To show your light, show the salt, be the salt of the earth.
Because if you live by example, Paul said in the Acts 2, right?
People are going to believe.
So show people that you serve the true God, right?
from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which is deliver us from the wrath to come.
So show people that you serve the true God, right?
And encourage people to wait for his son, the Jesus he's talking about, whom he raised from the dead.
And at this point in time, when Paul's writing this, right?
This is after Jesus has already been crucified.
After the three days and three nights in, in, like, literally, Hades, in Sheol, redeeming the lost.
After the resurrection.
After he, everybody, 500 plus people seen him walking in the Spirit, after the resurrection, right?
And after he's sending it to heaven.
This is afterwards.
Telling his people, yeah, to have faith and live by example, wait for the son from heaven to return, right?
From the dead.
Well, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus.
Which he delivered us from the wrath to come.
So Satan, you know, preaching the gospel.
That through Jesus Christ we are saved.
Because the wrath to come, guys, that's judgment.
And if you're saved, right?
Yeah.
And I want to point out too guys and uh Because um right now I mean, it's um, I don't know when you're gonna watch this whatever in the future But right now it's july 22nd of 2024.
I'm recording this I've been noticing some people posting this garbage out there These ministries, these videos, and they manipulate the Bible.
They never read the Bible in context.
They take verses out of context.
They'll, like, you say, one verse here, jump to another book, another chapter.
That's not how you read the Bible.
But they're trying to say that salvation is only for the Jews.
This is a popular doctrine going on right now, and you need to be aware of this.
Right, so I'm going to ask this one question.
If salvation was only for the Jews, who's Paul talking to?
In Romans, Thessalonians, Colossians, he's talking to Gentiles.
They're converted.
And as you know, as Paul says, they're grafted in.
To God's Israel, not the country of Israel, but God's kingdom.
The heirs to the kingdom.
So if anybody tells you you have to be a Jew to go to heaven, no, that's not true.
Because most Jews are not going to go to heaven.
Just like most Gentiles, because they don't believe in Jesus Christ as the Messiah.
You have to believe no matter who you are, what color of skin you are, you're not grafted in by your bloodline.
You're not grafted in because you're a Jew, or whatever you think you are.
You could be a direct bloodline of David himself.
You're not going to heaven, okay, you're not here to his promise, unless you believe in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God.
That he died for our sins, he's the true Messiah.
If you don't believe in that and you don't repent from sins, you're not going.
Your bloodline, your heritage is eroding.
I want to point that out.
And salvation, as John 3, 16 said, anyone, whoever shall believe, shall have everlasting life.
I'm sorry, I butchered that, Russ.
Whoever shall believe shall have everlasting life.
And that's in the spiritual life.
And John, in that context, it's John 3, 16, 17, 18.
Okay.
Whoever!
It doesn't say just Jews.
So I just want to warn people about that right now.
Because right now, if that was true, then Romans, Thessalonians, Galatians, all that stuff, and this book here for instance, it would be useless.
And you gotta ask these people too, why would Jesus The Twelve Apostles and the Seventy Disciples go two by two all through Europe, you know, as much of Europe as they could at the time in the Middle East, to spread the doctrine of salvation, and most of the people they did to were Gentiles.
Why would they waste all that time if it was just for the Jews?
So I just want to warn you all ahead of time, and this, I mean, when you just read this in context, guys, it completely debunks that.
I just wanted to throw that in for more content because there's only 10 wrestlers here too.
So, yeah.
So if you've got any questions, comments, or anything like that guys, please put it in the comment section.
And I invite you guys to go to truthradioshow.com.
That's my website.

It's a Bible series.
Click on that.
It's got a series from Matthew 1.
So, um, anyway, yeah.

So thank you for tuning in to the book of 1 Thessalonians chapter 1.
I love the Thessalonians.
These are great books guys.
I'm going to learn a lot, a lot.
Especially when it comes to the end times.
