If you're receiving this transmission, you are the resistance.
declaring war on the new world order truth radio show dot com and welcome to the damper diney show truth radio show dot com the book of acts series We are now on to Chapter 16. If you missed Chapters 1 through 15, they're in our playlist.
And this is Chapter 16 of an in-depth, comprehensive study of the Book of Acts.
We're halfway through the Book of Acts.
Can't believe it already.
Halfway through.
It's amazing.
Good stuff, though.
We've been covering the Book of Acts here, and it's just amazing information that we have learned, especially the last chapter here.
So, lots of context involved.
So, like always, this is a very important Bible study approach.
Please take a screenshot of that, guys, and just kind of also try to remember that every time you read the Scriptures.
So, number one, pray for wisdom and understanding.
So, let's do that right now.
So, Jesus, we come before you once again.
Thank you once again.
Thank you so much for everything you've done for us.
And just glory be your name.
Glory be your name.
May we lift you up on high and praise you, Jesus.
Thank you so much for the blood you've sacrificed for us.
For our pettiness and everything that we do.
All the bad stuff we do.
And you're always there, Lord, for us.
And we love you so much.
We can't thank you enough.
And we come before you and ask you to forgive us all of our individual sins and trespasses.
And please, Lord, purify us before the Father.
Make our garments clean.
And we come to you, Heavenly Father, we ask you to deliver us the Holy Spirit, the great comfort of, to write your word, the book of Acts chapter 16, upon our hearts today.
Write it upon our hearts and just give us that divine wisdom and understanding like nobody else could do.
No college, no university, nothing like that, no church could do, but you could do, Lord.
And we ask you, Heavenly Father, just help us all, protect us all from the forces of evil.
Protect this broadcast, protect this platform, and protect your word that is indestructible.
Your word that cuts through anything like a two-edged sword.
In your mighty name we ask, Amen.
So that being said, guys, we read the scripture in context because context is key.
And let the scripture interpret scripture.
So if you've been following the shows by now, you know the deal.
And we have to constantly recite this all the time because you, myself, I need a reminder every time I read the scripture, this is what we should be doing.
So let's get on with chapter 16. And chapter 16 is a continuation from 14 and 15. As you know, and I want to point out to you, the chapters, chapters and verses were not added on until later on.
So when the books were written, there was no chapters, no verses.
Scholars at the time and all that started adding the verses and chapters just to make it easier to navigate.
In other words, if you had to go like chapter 16, verse 2 here, you couldn't do that before the chapters and the verses were added.
It just makes it easy to navigate.
Now today we've got computers, we can hit searches and all that stuff to find it, but that's where that's at.
So anyway, chapter 15 where we left off, it was when all the apostles started splitting up to go to the cities that they once preached at.
To go check on the churches, you know what I mean?
To check on the people there to make sure they were doing right.
You know, all the cities they went to, to preach, again they all split up to go to those cities to check on them, you know what I mean?
So, pretty cool chapter we went through here.
And it talked about Gentiles, Jews, and everything else coming to the cross.
So, regardless of being a Gentile or Jew, you've still got to go through the cross.
And that's Jesus Christ.
So, we go on to chapter 16 here.
And again, halfway through the book of Acts, I'm excited here.
So, then came he to Derbe and Lista, and behold, a certain disciple was there named Timothus.
The son of a certain woman, which was a Jewish, which is a female Jew, and believed, but this, his father, but his father, I'm sorry, was Greek.
You know why Jesus says neither Jew or Greek, rich or poor?
So Timothy, his mother was Jewish, and his father was Greek.
So which was well reported by the brethren that were at Lister in Iconium.
So him...
Would Paul have gone forth with him and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters?
For they knew all that his father was a Greek.
So he has Paul circumcising the person.
Now, again, the guy talked about the last chapter, right?
About the modern-day dispensational churches, right?
Why would Paul be circumcising someone If these customs are abolished.
That was the law of Moses to be circumcised, right?
The laws God gave to Moses for the Jews.
Now this brethren here, right?
His mother, he was half Jew and half Greek.
And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, right?
That were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.
So they delivered them the decrees for them to keep.
So that says a lot.
If you were with us the last chapter, you know what I'm talking about.
And I hope you watch the last chapter before you're watching this.
If you didn't, go back and watch that because it's all connected here.
So you're not going to understand this one unless you know the last chapter.
So, yeah, there's Paul.
Choke and circumcise him because of the Jews which were in the quarters, for they know that his father was a Greek, right?
And they went through the cities and they delivered them, they decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were in Jerusalem.
And so we're the churches established in the faith.
And increased in numbers daily.
So, yeah, the churches, which the church we explain, is the people.
It's not an official building or religion.
It's not Catholicism, it's not Jewish, it's not Episcopal, whatever the case, right?
Or Chasmatic, or whatever the case, evangelists.
No.
It's we, the people who believe in Jesus, are the church.
Right?
So again, the apostles split up to go to the cities that they established churches at.
The people, right?
To go check on them all.
Now when they had gone throughout Freedia, I'm going to butcher these names and I apologize, Figuria, in the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia.
Now here's what's pretty interesting here, right?
So, they went and went through these cities, right?
And the regions and everything.
But the Holy Ghost forbid them to preach the word in Asia.
Very peculiar.
Kind of peculiar, isn't it?
Well, we know the Holy Ghost does these things for a reason.
Maybe it wasn't time for the word to go into Asia yet.
Because they were still spreading through Europe and the Middle East.
Or maybe there's something going on.
Who knows?
But, you know, let the Bible chop itself.
And we're probably going to find that out later.
Because I'm learning it as we go too, guys.
So, we're going to probably find out why the Holy Ghost forbid them to go into Asia to preach the Word of God.
At the time.
Right?
And here's something for you first century ideas, right?
Right?
Because, check this out, right?
Because there's a group out there, the preacherists, right?
This religion, right?
They believe that Jesus, everything was fulfilled, Jesus came back, and the rapture took place in 70 AD and all that stuff, right?
Yeah.
It's a lie.
Because Jesus says in Matthew 24, right?
Before I return, the word has to be preached in all corners of the earth.
Every nation, right?
Look at, here we are, right?
Right about that time, The word hasn't even gotten Asian yet.
It's still only in the Middle East and Europe.
It's still spreading through Europe.
And at this point in time, all the Middle East just about has heard the word, right?
And it's still spreading through Europe.
And Asian hasn't gotten it, right?
The word of God has not, you know, if you actually move that prophecy, it didn't even come true until about the 18th century.
When the mass printing press came on in the 18th, 19th century, and now we can say in the year 2023, the Word of God has been preached in every country and every continent in the world.
Thus fulfilled in the Matthew 24 prophecy.
Not in 70 A.D. So I just want to point that out.
And guys, pre-trism is a destructive belief.
They believe, again, Jesus' return in 70 A.D., and everything was fulfilled, which is ludicrous, because the prophecies of Matthew 24 haven't even begun to begin happening in that time.
Most of them didn't even start unfolding until the 1800s and 1900s.
So I just want to point that out.
So, yeah.
So, very peculiar that the Holy Ghost...
Forbid them to go into Asia to preach the word of God.
But we're going to find out later, obviously.
And after they were coming to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bilthia, but the Spirit suffered them not.
In other words, they didn't forbid them, right?
And they, passing by Mysia, came down to Troas.
And again, I apologize for butchering these names of the cities.
And a vision appeared to Paul, right, in the night.
So he's probably sleeping or he's awake, whatever the case is.
But in the nighttime, a vision came to Paul.
It was actually a vision because it would have said a dream.
Or a dream, whatever the case was.
Because the Bible does specify these things.
If it was a dream, a vision and a dream, or a vision, right?
Appeared to Paul in the night.
There stood a man of Macedonia and prayed him, saying, Come over to Macedonia and help us.
So this vision Paul had, that was a person of Macedonia asking for help.
And after he'd seen the vision, immediately we endeavored to go to Medinia.
So in other words, endeavored, I'm sorry.
Endeavored?
I'm butchering words today, I apologize.
So immediately we endeavored to go into Macedonia.
In other words, pack up guys, we're going to Macedonia.
Assuredly, gathering that the Lord had called us for us to preach the gospel unto them.
So, one of the angels, whoever, appeared to, not a dream, but a vision to Paul, and that was God telling him, hey, pack your stuff up, let's head over to Macedonia.
Therefore, loosened from Troes, we came to a straight, that was leaving Troes, we came with a straight course to Sermoth, again, I apologize, Sermoth 3 is here, right, and the next day to Neapolis.
And there's a reason why they're naming the cities they're going through, right?
There's always a reason for what the Scripture says.
And then Philippi, which is the chief city of the part of the Macedonia, of that part of Macedonia, so it's like a capital.
So the city of Philippi, which is the chief city, which is the capital of Macedonia, right?
And a colony.
And we were in that city abiding certain days.
And on the Sabbath day, right, we went out of the city by a river where prayer was not, won't be made.
I'm sorry, guys.
You know, prayer won't be made, and we sat down and spoke to the woman which resorted to thither.
So she was there, and so they said, we're not going to pray over here, right?
And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple of the city of Dancia, which worshiped God, heard us, Whose heart the Lord opened, and she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
So in other words, she's listening unto the things and paying attention to which Paul was speaking.
And when she was baptized, Of her household, she besought us saying, if you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and abide there.
And she constrained us.
In other words, she said, come on in and show hospitality.
So this woman was baptized after she was listening to Paul, right?
So Paul witnessed to her.
Amen to that, huh?
So Paul witnessed to this woman that was by the river.
And this is on a Sabbath day.
And people say, well, the Sabbath, you know, they were working on it.
This is not working.
When you witness to God, that's not working.
When Jesus preached in the synagogue on the Sabbath, right, that's not working.
That's, again, these dispensations out there who's trying to say the Sabbath day is only for the Jews.
We went over to the last chapter, and no, it's not.
The Sabbath day was established.
If you go to Genesis chapter 2, we're at the beginning.
The seventh day, God hollered.
God sanctified and made it holy.
Forever.
It doesn't end when the new covenant came.
It had nothing to do with the Jews.
It's his day.
It's God's day, not the Jews' day.
The Jews just followed it when it was reiterated as the First Commandment.
It didn't end when Jesus was crucified.
And the Catholic Church are the ones who changed it.
And now today's Christianity, they don't know left or right.
They say, well, Sunday is the new day because he rose on the...
No, there's nothing to do with that.
This is well after Jesus' sacrifice, resurrected, and went into heaven, right?
They're still on the Sabbath.
And no, preaching and doing baptism, this is not working.
This is doing the work of the Lord.
This is not working in an aspect of going to your jobs.
That's not what he's talking about.
When you do the will of the Lord, it's not working.
Alright?
You're not violating the Sabbath by preaching the word and doing baptism and all that.
That's exactly what Jesus did and that's what the apostles did.
They honored and kept the Sabbath, yes.
And we're going to learn that when we get to Hebrews chapter 4. When Paul himself says that.
To keep the rest in heaven.
And Jesus, right?
Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath.
And he said, if there was another day, we would have told you so.
There is no other day.
Saturday is the Sabbath.
Not Sunday, right?
So this woman here, she heard what Paul had to say.
She got saved.
And she just got baptized.
Now she invited them to come to her home, right?
And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel, which is a woman, A certain woman, possessed with a spirit of divination, met us, which brought her a master much gained by Susanne, right?
So this woman, more spiritual warfare here, right?
This woman, this damsel, right?
She was possessed with a spirit of divination.
So what's divinization?
As we learn in Deuteronomy 18, right?
And many other scriptures.
Again, you've got to know the Old Testament to know this stuff, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, divination is like any form of witchcraft, fortune-telling, reading palms, and all kinds of stuff like that.
Like, any kind of magic or anything like that, or psychic stuff at all.
Which is evil.
Right?
It's a spirit that does that.
And these people think they have powers to do that.
No.
It's not them that have the powers.
It's a spirit in them that gives them this foresight.
Which is an evil spirit.
But this woman here, a certain woman, a damsel there, possessed with a spirit of divinization, which is an evil spirit, menas, which brought her masters much gained by soothsaying.
Soothsaying is, yeah.
You want to know what soothsaying is?
It's a person that's supposed to be able to foresee the future.
A fortune teller.
So basically this woman...
Work, basically, like, you know, if you go to a flea market or a condom or whatever, they have a person in the booth that says they can read your fortune to make money, right?
So just like back then, this woman here was reading people's fortunes for money and gave the money to her master's boss, right?
So the same followed Paul in us in Christ, saying, These men are the servants of the Most High, which show us the way of salvation.
And this did she many days.
But Paul, being grieved, because at this point, Paul was like, he knew, okay, what this woman was about.
Filled with an evil spirit of divination, right?
So Paul grieved.
In other words, he's probably biting his tongue for a while, right?
And then he got sick of it.
He turned and said to her, the spirit, I'm sorry, and to her, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her, and it came out the same hour.
I want to point this out, guys.
This is spiritual warfare going on, right?
He just removed this spirit within there.
And I want to point this out because I know modern-day churches will say, you need to be a deliverance minister to do this.
You've got to go to certain classes.
Or a Catholic priest.
Okay, you need to be a Catholic priest or a deliverance minister to do this.
Right?
The Bible says no such thing.
At all.
And I'm going to point this out.
I'm going to be very point right up about this, right?
You do not need to do any such thing that is bogus as unbiblical.
You don't need to be a bishop or a priest or a deliverance minister.
You don't need to go jump to the hoops of these churches and these religions to do this, right?
Anyone listening right now that believes in Jesus Christ has the same power Paul has here.
Any one of us.
This is spiritual warfare going on here.
We have Jesus in us, right?
He was in us and was greater than all the world, right?
We can call upon the name of Jesus Christ to rid anybody of a spirit.
And I want to point this out too.
If you go tempted to do this, guys, First of all, before you can go near there, okay, I would go somewhere quick.
Pray, okay, get right with God for us.
Confess your known sins and just ask for forgiveness of all your sins if you can't remember it all.
Because I'm going to tell you one thing, alright?
This happened to me.
One of the first times I went to go confront somebody that was possessed with the demon, right?
The demon called out every one of my sins that was unconfessed.
To the detail.
Very embarrassing to mind you, alright?
They will eat you alive, like But when you confess the sins to Jesus, right?
They're cleansed.
You're clean, right?
So I would highly suggest before you go to do this, right?
Get yourself right with the Lord.
And if it's a situation where you get confronted, whatever, the Lord would still work for you.
And if the demon brings up your sins, right?
It's like, you know what?
I confess my sins to Jesus Christ.
Say it right out loud like that.
And boom, you're clean right there.
And the demon has nothing more on you.
Then you go, in the name of Jesus Christ, come out of that person.
Whatever the person, he or she.
Come out of him or her.
Use conviction, guys.
Don't be all timid.
Use conviction.
Faith and conviction.
In the name of Jesus Christ, come out of her now.
Or him.
And that demon or the unclean spirit will come out.
Again, you don't need to be a deliverance minister or a Catholic priest to do this.
I don't care what your church tells you.
Was Paul a deliverance minister?
Was he a Catholic priest?
No.
And many, mind you, right, you had the 12 apostles, right?
And how many disciples they had?
Hundreds, probably, that were under Paul and the rest of the apostles, right?
All of them could do this.
Jesus gave us that, the authority to do that.
It's not us doing it.
It's not Paul doing this.
He's using the name of Jesus Christ to do this.
Paul doesn't have the power to do that.
I don't have the power.
You don't have the power to do that.
But with the name of Jesus Christ, yes we do.
Because it's Jesus that does that, the Holy Spirit, not us.
So, yeah, I just want to point that out because especially in these end times, guys, we're going to see some very crazy stuff.
Demon possession is through the roof.
And it's getting very creepy out there.
Alright?
But you have the power to do this, guys.
Confess yourself to Jesus.
Get yourself right, right?
Clean yourself right, spiritually.
And cast that thing out in the name of Jesus Christ.
You will use conviction and you'll show zero fear.
Look that demon right in the eyes and get out of him or her in the name of Jesus.
And watch how fast that thing leads.
And I'm telling you, you're going to feel a power that you've never felt in your life.
It is the most, I can't describe.
It just gives you goosebumps and tears of the immense power that you feel the Holy Spirit coming through you.
And the power of Jesus Christ cast on that demon.
I can't, with words, I can't describe to you.
It is the greatest feeling.
You feel invincible.
And again, it's not you, it's Jesus Christ working through you.
Jesus is doing all this.
And you feel invincible because, yeah, you've got invincible God in you.
And there's not a demon that exists.
Not even Satan himself could do anything against you at that point.
Spiritual warfare is very important, guys.
The number one thing in the scriptures, guys, is knowing Jesus.
By far, okay, to know Jesus, right?
But what the modern day churches lack, guys, is spiritual warfare.
They rip the spirituality out of the Bible.
It's unfortunate.
Knowing Jesus, okay?
Number one.
Number two is spiritual warfare.
We're God's army, okay?
We're His modern day disciples or we're just believers, right?
Spiritual warfare is a must to know.
You don't need to be a deliverance minister or a Catholic priest to do any of this stuff, guys.
See, the thing is here, I want to tell you something too.
In a Catholic church, right?
For a priest to go do an exorcism, right?
They literally got to get permission from the bishop and it's going to go through the chain of command, right?
They got to get blessed by the bishop and all that.
They can't just go do it.
A deliverance minister has to go to work through his church to do this, right?
Plus, we don't have to do that.
We don't have middlemen to go through.
We don't have to go through no chain of command.
All we do is go to Jesus Christ himself.
Unlike the churches and religions, right?
We don't have middlemen like that.
We got the boss's number on speed dial.
We don't have to deal with middlemen because there ain't no middlemen.
Jesus is the only middleman between us and God.
I could talk to Jesus right now and cast out a demon.
If somebody needed help and somebody was possessed, I don't have to go, well, I'm going to call my bishop and they're going to go communicate to the Vatican and all that and the archbishops and all that stuff and all my church is going to get together with the elders and we're going to do this and that.
No.
We don't need to do any of that hocus pocus crap.
Get yourself right with the Lord and use severe conviction in the Lord Jesus Christ.
And boom!
You will see the power of Jesus.
These demons flee like no tomorrow.
You'll see how weak and pathetic these things are.
That's scary, no doubt.
I mean, when you see these things, guys, and with the human body, too, and you know somebody's possessed, it's going to most likely scare the heck out of you.
I'm not going to lie.
I'm going to tell you right now.
But when you come to your senses, right, and understand spiritual warfare, and understand the power, yeah, you can literally stare a demon in the face and laugh at it at that point.
Because when you feel that power of the Holy Spirit rip through you, man, you won't.
There's not a demon out there that can stand in your way.
Make that very clear, guys.
Spiritual warfare.
That's why I have my show on Friday.
It's called Spiritual Warfare Friday.
We try to teach spiritual warfare.
To show you we have the power in the name of Jesus Christ to cast out these demons, right?
And Paul just did this.
This person, a soothsayer fortune teller, right?
Paul, you know, he's like, I had enough of this woman, right?
Plain and simple.
And the name of Jesus Christ come out of her and a demon came out.
Boom!
Just like that.
And when her master saw that this happened, right?
The hope of their gains was gone.
They caught Paul and Silas and drew them into the marketplace, into the rulers.
So again, they were...
The masters were kind of interested in what Paul has to say, right?
Because they knew Paul, the apostles, they knew that they were men of servants of God, right?
And of the Most High...
And which shows us unto the way of salvation, right?
But when the woman there, she was possessed, whatever the case, had a spirit with her, Paul didn't like it too much, okay?
Paul's like, yeah, I had enough of this crap.
Boom, cast the spirit out.
Now the master of this woman, right, didn't like that because now they can't make money no more because that spirit's gone.
So that the hopes of gains were gone, right?
And that Paul and Silas drew them, so they led them into the marketplace, into the rules, onto the rules, right?
And brought them to the magistrates, saying, and today we have magistrates, kind of weird, huh?
Notice how everything in Rome is like this in the United States?
It's not a coincidence.
Magistrates are the people in the courts.
So they brought them to the magistrate saying, these men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city.
So they're causing problems.
Well, yeah, they're causing spiritual problems because it's Paul.
And yeah, Paul had that righteous anger in him.
He's like, yeah, all right, I had enough of this darn demon.
Yeah, you need to go.
Plain and simple.
And that's how I would be too.
I'm not going to sit there and tolerate that spiritual filth.
Yeah, and that's exactly what Paul just did.
Whipped it out.
So anyway, brought them to the magistrate saying that these men are being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city, and teach customs which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe being Romans.
Because remember guys, Romans, even to this day, even with the Catholic Church, right?
It's all paganism.
It's all Babylonian, Eastern mysticism, esoteric stuff.
It's not Christian.
It's not even Christian.
It's a counterfeit Christian.
I was a Catholic, so I'm very much willing to talk.
Catholic Church violates everything the Scripture has to say with the catechism and everything else.
Now I don't want to get into that right now.
But if you are a Catholic watching, God bless you for watching this.
Like I tell everybody in every religion, come out of Babylon.
The Scripture says in Revelation, come out of Babylon.
Stop following these Babylonian religions.
They're all equally Babylonian.
Follow Jesus.
We don't need middlemen.
So if you're Catholic watching, just pray and say, Jesus, please forgive me for being in this religion.
I renounce.
I renounce my religion.
And I follow you directly, Lord.
I don't need to follow priests no more.
Don't need to follow gurus, whatever the case.
I follow Jesus Christ now.
No matter what religion you are, guys.
Or cult, or whatever.
If you do that now, you're free from that bondage of that religion.
Then your eyes will be opened.
Then you're going to say, oh wow, I can't believe I was deceived.
All these years when I followed, when I was younger, I was a Catholic, yeah, when I broke those bonds, all the truth came out.
God exposed all that to me.
It was beautiful to know the truth, right?
The truth will set you free.
So they're saying that Paul and them, they were teaching customs which are not lawful to receive, neither to observe being Romans, right?
And the multitude rose up together against them.
So everybody around, all right, yeah, these guys, they don't belong there.
Talk about the bosses, right?
They don't belong there.
And the magistrates rent off their clothes and commanded to beat them.
So they ripped off their clothes, the apostles.
Ripped off the apostles' clothes and commanded to beat them.
And when they had laid many stripes upon them, that's whips and everything else.
So, the apostles got beat here.
Whipped and everything else, right?
They cast them into a prison, charging the jailer to keep them safe.
So, telling the jailer, commanding them, keep them locked up.
I want them locked in chains.
In this cell, locked up and locked in chains as well, right?
Who have received such a charge, thrust them into the, which is a command...
Thrust them into the inner prison.
Because there's many sections in prison.
This is the inner inner prison.
You know what I mean?
It's like solitary confinement in our prison system today.
Which is a prison within a prison.
You know?
So it made their feet fast into stocks.
So they were chained up by the feet in stocks.
Chained up to the walls.
Right?
So where they are locked up in chains and locked in a cell that's locked into another cell.
So yeah, this is, yeah, you can't get any more locked up than that.
And at midnight, Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God, and the prisoners heard them.
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken, and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's bands were loose.
So all the cuffs and shackles and everything, all became loose, all the doors of the prison opened.
And the keeper of the prison, that's amazing.
And it was almost like when they were locked up before.
Several chapters back, it was awesome.
When they were locked up before, I forgot who it was.
They locked them up before and that God had one of his angels take them out of the prison without being seen.
It was amazing.
So anyway, the keeper of the prison...
Awaken and out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out a sword and would have killed himself, supposedly that the prison had been fled.
Because the thing is, you gotta understand here, guys, why would the prisoner kill himself?
I mean, the prison guard.
Because, guess what would happen to you if you were a prison guard, right, back then, in Rome?
Right?
And the prisoners escaped?
Yeah.
Yeah.
The high knocking in Rome, they would kill you.
For allowing the prisoners to escape.
So he drew out a sword and basically he was ready to offer himself because he knew exactly what happened to him if these prisoners escaped.
So, but Paul cried with a loud voice saying, do yourself no harm for we are all here.
Because this prison guy's ready to, you know, off himself because he thought the prisoners all escaped because when all the doors opened, the shackles fell off.
Everybody was free.
They could have walked out.
So this prison guy's like, oh, crap.
I'm just going to off myself because they're going to torture me.
You know, because the Roman chiefs, they would have tortured this guy, then killed him.
Yeah, so he would have been better off of himself instead of facing all that, right?
So he's ready to do this, and Paul's like, hold on, hold on, hold on.
We're all here, don't do that.
Hold on a second, right?
Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas.
So he called for a candle, whatever the case is, and ran in where Paul and Silas was, right?
And fell down before them.
This is a prison guy.
And brought them out and said, sirs, what must I do to be saved?
Because he's seen us.
Imagine a prison guy.
I don't know how long he's been a prison guy.
Imagine a long time, whatever the case is.
But he's seen an earthquake happen, right?
Every door in the prison came open.
The shackles fell off and all that.
And he's like, wow.
Mind you, before this happened, what is this?
At midnight, Paul and Silas were praying, right?
Singing praises of God.
So the prisoners heard them, right?
So the prison God's obviously hearing this, right?
At the time, he's probably mocking, oh yeah, the fake God, whatever the case, right?
So when this big earthquake came and all the stuff was open and unlocked, right?
He's probably like, wow, his God is real.
And that's when he went in and said, hey, alright guys, what do I do?
This is a prison God.
What must I do to be saved?
Then they told him, right?
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved in thy house.
So they just witnessed to a prison guard.
And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in the house, his house.
So that's probably his wife and kids or whatever the case, mother-in-law, whatever.
Yeah.
So these people just got saved from this incident here.
And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes and was baptized.
And he and all his, uh, straight away.
So he took, you know, washed the stripes, the lashes that he received and everything else, right?
And he was baptized.
He and all his, uh, so basically the prison guard and everybody in his house was baptized late, late at night.
And when he had brought them, it's probably like 2, 3 in the morning, who knows, probably 4. And when he had brought them into his house, he sent meat before them, which is a dinner, you know what I mean, like food.
Prison garden now, mind you, right?
Bringing them, the people he was guarding, like Paul and Silas, right?
Now they're in his house and rejoicing, believing God with all his house.
So the whole family, they're all having dinner with them now.
And rejoice in them.
They just got baptized.
They're brand new.
They're brand new believers in Jesus now, right?
And when it was day, you can see when it was day, so it specifies the day.
So this, again, because it was at midnight, they started praying.
So all this occurred within six hours or so?
Woke his family up out of his house and said, hey guys, you gotta get up.
This happened and we need to believe in the Lord.
Then the wife made them food and all that.
It's amazing.
So anyway, when it was daytime, the magistrates sent the sergeant saying, let those men go.
And the keeper of the prison told the St. Paul...
The magistrates have set you free until you go.
Now, therefore, I depart and go in peace.
So what happened was, obviously, they went back to the prison.
So Paul and Silas went with the prison guard to his house and all that stuff, right?
Witnessed and saved his family and woke him up, whatever.
They had dinner with them and all that lunch, whatever you want to call it, late night food, whatever.
And, you know, baptism and all that stuff.
And obviously they went back to the prison.
And now the magistrates, they commanded to be, you know, all right, you guys can go, all right?
But Paul said unto them, they have beaten us openly and condemned us.
Being Romans, they have cast us into prison, and now, do they thrust us out privily?
Nay, which is no, verily.
But let them come themselves and fetch yourself.
So Paul's like, well, hold on, you talk about the magistrate.
You guys are the ones who condemned us, right?
You beat us open.
Right?
Right?
So you guys come and set us free.
Don't put, you know, you sound a prison guard.
No, have them come and set us free.
So the sergeants told these words, so the sergeants went back and told the magistrates, right?
They feared, and when they heard that they were Romans...
And they came and besought them and brought them out and desired them to depart out of the city.
It's like, all right, we're here now, like you ask us, right?
We're letting you go, please depart out of our city, right?
And they went out of the prison and entered into the house of Lydia.
And when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them and departed.
So before they left, they went to the house of Lydia and seen their brethren, fellow believers, right?
Come for them, okay guys, everything's okay.
We're free now.
So we witnessed a lot of people too.
So we're going to depart in the city like they requested.
So something that the magistrates, everybody, they were like, wow.
Because this had to be a big thing.
When the entire prison was rocked with earthquake, right?
And every chain came loose.
Everyone.
Not just theirs.
Everybody that was in that prison.
All the doors open.
Yeah.
They were like, what the heck is going on?
So obviously the prisoner guards were told the magistrates on the message.
Yeah, they were praying to their guard and this happened.
So it probably scared the heck out of these people.
And of course the magistrate said, alright guys, let them go, let them go.
We don't want no more trouble.
Because obviously Paul could have said, alright, the father could have destroyed the entire prison and those people too.
So it probably was like, well yeah, this is, alright.
And the prison guards are testing to this.
They're probably scared.
And rightfully so.
Yeah, they should be because they just try to condemn innocent people.
And Paul was a Roman, too.
And when they found that out, because they thought Paul was a Jew, especially when they found out, well, he was a Roman, hold on, we can't do this.
But regardless, the Holy Spirit worked through here, and again, another miracle act of God that freed them.
And at the same time, witnessed to the oppressors The very prison God that was God and him and his whole family all saved them.
Amazing, huh?
Hallelujah.
That's really awesome.
