TruthRadioShow.com Shalom and welcome to the Dan Bedanti Show on TruthRadioShow.com We are in the Gospel of John, Chapter 16.
So, if you haven't gone through 1-15 yet with us, please go do so right now.
All the shows are in the list there.
So, on truthradioshow.com, our YouTube channel.
So, this is John, Chapter 16, in our in-depth, comprehensive study.
We don't just read through the Bible.
We read through it and study everything it says.
That's why we do chapter by chapter.
So, before we begin, we'd like to do a specific Bible study approach for new listeners out there.
Number one, we pray for wisdom and understanding, so let's do that right now.
And Jesus, yes, your Messiah, we come to you and thank you so much for everything you've done for us.
And we ask you to forgive us all of our individual trespasses and sins and transgressions.
And forgive us, Lord, and make us pure.
And Father, we come to You and ask You to give us the Divine Comfort, that's the Holy Spirit, to teach us, the Divine Comfort and the Divine Teacher, to teach us directly Your Word to write upon our hearts, Lord.
And we pray for anybody out here that's going through any kind of physical, spiritual, mental, or any kind of troubles at all, we pray that You can heal them and comfort them, Lord.
In your precious name, and please help us learn the word today.
In John chapter 16.
And we ask you Lord to protect us all from the forces of evil.
In your heavenly name, Amen.
So, that we did now, we read the scripture in context.
Because context is key.
It's very critical, I have to explain this all the time.
Very critical that you read the scripture in context.
And that the scripture interprets scripture.
Lean not on your own understanding.
So that being said, guys, turn to your Bibles.
If you're on ShakenWakeRadio.com, thank you, Ianny, for carrying the show on your network.
And also, it's an audio edition, so I strongly suggest for you guys to open your own Bibles.
This way, you can read it for yourselves.
For those watching on a video edition here, we've got the King James Version up on screen.
So now, before you start Chapter 16, right, now this is, where is this at in history, right, in this historical account?
This is mere hours before Jesus' capture to go to Calvary.
At this point in time, Judas Iscariot is already communicating with the Jewish leaders to rat Jesus out where he is.
Now again, the apostles think that Judas is out because Jesus didn't want to tell them that Judas was the betrayer.
So they thought Judas was out buying food for the festival in Nepal.
But he was actually out ratting Jesus out to tell where he was.
So, and so we left off as we explained that the divine comforter when Jesus stated when he leaves, right?
He's gonna pray for another comforter for us, right?
And that comforter he explained vividly as the Holy Spirit.
The Spirit of Truth and the Holy Spirit.
That's the same thing.
That the Holy Spirit today is our comforter.
So now, and this is just Jesus going through final instructions before he leaves, before he's crucified, right?
So he goes on to talk about these things I have spoken unto you that you should not be offended, right?
They shall put you out of the synagogue, yet the time comes that whoever kills you will think that he does a good God's service, right?
And this is going to relate to today, these days guys.
Because this universal church I set up today, the ecumenical movement.
Hundreds of religions all serve under the Pope.
To say we all serve the same God and to be blasphemy to them.
If you dare to say when this goes into order, when Satan takes control of this planet.
When this goes into order, during the tribulation.
You cannot say that Jesus is the only way to heaven.
They'll hunt you down.
And no, there's going to be no pre-tribulation rapture.
So, but here, right, the Jewish leaders, the high priests and all them, they want Jesus dead because he's committing blasphemy, right?
And he's telling his apostles and his followers, yeah, they're going to kick you out of the synagogues.
After they capture Jesus, they're going to go after you guys.
And they're actually going to think they're doing God a service.
Because they got told by the Jewish leaders that they're committing blasphemy.
That, you know, Jesus and the apostles.
Right?
And remember too, the last chapter, God, I'm sorry, Jesus told Peter that before the day is over, before the cock crows, the rooster, right?
He's gonna deny him three times.
So keep that in mind too, right?
So, and these things, will they do unto you?
Because they have known the Father, not me.
Right?
They have not known the Father, nor me.
So even though they claim to be of God, the high priest and all that, right?
But they don't know God.
Because if they knew God, they would know that Jesus is the Savior.
He's the Messiah.
But he again says, and these things they will do unto you, because they have not known God or me.
But these things I have told you, that when the time shall come, you may remember that I told you of them.
He's saying, yeah, when this time comes, remember that I told you so.
And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.
Like that, he's saying, like, when I was first with you, you know, the first somewhat years, right?
I didn't tell you these things because I didn't need to.
Because I was with you.
But I'm not gonna be here any time, like, within literally hours from this time here.
He's not gonna be here no more.
He's prepping the apostles for what's to come after his crucifixion.
He says, but now I go my way to Him that sent me.
That's the Father.
He's going back to the throne of God.
And none of you ask me, where do you go?
Where does he go?
But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow has filled your heart.
Because, you know, they're upset because they don't want Jesus to leave, but they are ignoring what Jesus is telling them to do.
So nevertheless, I tell you the truth.
It is expedient for you that I go away.
For if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you.
But if I depart, I will send him unto you.
So this prophecy has to happen, he's saying.
And in order for the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to come to you, I have to depart first.
And I will send him unto you.
And when he has come, he will reprove the world of sin.
And of the righteousness and of judgment.
And if you want to know what reproof is, right?
I forgot what it means too.
Reproof definition, right?
It is to reprimand or censor someone.
Right?
Reprimand.
So, he's saying the Holy Spirit is going to reprimand the world of sin.
And of righteousness and of judgment.
And of sin, of because they believe that I'm Him.
And of righteousness, because I go to my Father and you see me no more.
Of judgment, because the Prince of this world is judged.
So he explains what this means.
Let the Scripture interpret Scripture.
Perfect example, right?
So if you just took this one verse, you'd be like, alright, what does that really mean?
And Jesus explains all three categories, right?
Self-explanatory.
That's why you read the Scripture in context.
Verse 12, I have yet many things to say unto you, but you cannot hear them now.
So he's saying, I got a lot of stuff to tell you, but right now you can't bear them, because you can barely comprehend what I'm telling you right now.
So how about when he, the Spirit of Truth, that's the Holy Spirit, So the Holy Spirit's coming and in today's world the Holy Spirit's here.
For he shall not speak of himself, but whoever he shall hear, that he shall speak.
And he will show you things to come.
So the Holy Spirit's coming, and in today's world, the Holy Spirit's here.
He tells us what God tells him.
And the Holy Spirit glorifies him, Jesus.
For he shall receive of mine, and I shall show it unto you.
All things that the Father are mine, therefore I said, that he shall take of mine and show it unto you.
So this is Jesus prepping the apostles for the coming of the Holy Spirit unto them.
And this is very important to know because this is what's going on today.
The spirit that speaks out in you is the Holy Spirit.
And I didn't even pre-read this.
Because I'm letting the Holy Spirit direct me.
And I'm hoping, praying that you guys are letting the Holy Spirit direct you as we go through this.
So, a little while and you shall not see me.
And again, a little while and you shall not see me.
And you shall, I'm sorry.
He says, a little while and you shall not see me again.
A little while and you shall see me.
Because I go to the Father.
So, what is he saying?
He's gonna be dead and resurrect.
He's gonna be dead.
And rise again.
And then go to the Father, right?
And they'll see him in the resurrection.
When he resurrects, then we're all going to see him during the Great Resurrection.
So it explains itself as we go along.
So the disciples are talking amongst each other, saying, what is he saying?
A little while, and you shall not see me.
And again, a little while, you shall see me.
And because I go to the Father, they don't understand what he's saying.
They said, therefore, what is it that he said?
A little while, we cannot tell what he said.
The disciples are confused, right?
So now, Jesus knew what they were the rightest to ask him, right?
Jesus knew what they were ready to ask him.
And he said unto them, Do you not inquire among yourselves of that I said?
A little while, and you shall not see me again.
And again, a little while, you shall see me.
So he's like, do you guys understand what I just told you?
And you're about to ask me what I mean.
So, verily, verily, you know, Jesus with a serious statement making, alright?
He goes, verily, verily, I say it to you.
And he explains what he's talking about.
That's why I love when Jesus talks, because he says something, explains it, then probably puts a parable to explain it more.
So now he's explaining what this means.
Right?
That, um, a little while you shall not see me and again a little while you shall see me.
Now he's gonna explain what he says, right?
Verily, verily, I say to you that you shall weep and lament but the world shall rejoice and you shall be sorrowful but your sorrowful shall be turned into joy.
In other words, when he's put on a cross and put to death Everybody around him, all the Jewish leaders and all the leaders around him, they're gonna rejoice.
And at the same time, the apostles and the people who love Jesus, they're gonna be sorrowful and mourn.
But he says, your sorrow will be turned to joy.
And how's that?
Because when he resurrects, yeah, he has accomplished his goal.
So, a woman, when she is in trouble, has sorrow.
Travail.
So, let me learn what that is.
Travail definition.
So, this is what Bible study is, guys.
Painful and laborious effort.
Okay, so when the woman's in labor, has sorrow, right?
I'm going to highlight this right.
Because her hours come.
When a woman is a label, right?
When you're in labor, right?
You are in pain, alright?
You are in, like, pain.
of the child, she remembers no more the anguish.
The joy of that man is born into the world.
So this is, Jesus explained what this means.
So yeah, when a woman's, you know, when, and ladies out there that had children, right?
When you're in labor, right, you are in pain, alright?
You are in, like, pain you can't stand.
But after that child's born, you forget about that. .
It doesn't even matter at that point, because you've got this beautiful child into the world.
That's what he's saying there.
Talking about how they'll, at first they'll be sorrowful, but later that sorrow turns into joy, right?
He's explaining like a woman in birth.
When she gives birth, that, you know, she doesn't remember the pain no more.
Now she's in anguish, now she's in joy because of the child, right?
He goes, you gotta be sorrowful, yes, but you are going to see me again.
And when you do see me, your heart's gonna be full of rejoice, and nobody can take that from you.
And in that day, you shall ask me nothing.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, whatever you shall ask in the, I'm sorry, ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you.
And again, it doesn't mean, oh, what a million dollars or some dumb thing like that, right?
That's not what he means, okay?
It's not, he's not a genie to make magic wishes like that.
You know, stuff that you need and all that, that's what he's talking about, right?
Here until you have asked me, asked nothing in my name.
And ask and you shall receive that your joy may be full.
And these things I have spoken unto you in proverbs.
But the time comes when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs.
But I shall show you plainly of the Father.
Right?
So not the day you shall ask me, ask my name and I shall say unto you I'm sorry.
The day... Let me slow down here.
I get ahead of myself sometimes.
So forgive me for that, guys.
So at the day you shall ask in my name, and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you.
So Jesus says, you don't ask in my name.
Ask in the name of the Father.
But I will pray for you.
I'll be your adversary, intercessor.
Not adversary, I'll advocate, I'm sorry.
I'll be your advocate.
And I'll be your intercessor.
I'll advocate for you for the Father, right?
I'll go to bat for you, you know, in other words, right?
So, verse 27, For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and I have believed that I came from out of God.
And you have, oh yeah, have believed.
So, he said, again, I don't mean to butcher these verses guys, I'm sorry.
I'm just trying hard to keep up with the screen here.
It's like, kind of small sometimes.
But, um, because I'm trying to highlight it too, so.
So, for the Father himself loves you, right?
Because you have loved me, and have believed that I came from God.
So, the Father loves you guys, all of us, because we loved Jesus.
We love Jesus, not love, love.
And we believe that He came out of God.
And He says, I come forth from the Father and am coming to the world again, and I leave the world and go to the Father.
So, this is Him explaining what He talked about.
That, you know, you shall not see Me, and again, a little while, and you shall see Me.
Because they go to the Father, so they didn't understand, that's when the apostles didn't understand, so Jesus just got done explaining what he talked about, right?
So, his disciples said unto him, Woe, now speak it thus plainly, and speak it not in proverbs, no proverbs, right?
So he said, don't speak, you know, they're saying, just don't speak in proverbs or anything like that, just tell us plainly, right?
Now we are sure that knowest all things, ne'er needest not any man should ask of thee, right?
But this we believe that you came from God.
So they said, yeah, we believe you came from God.
And Jesus answered them, said, do you now believe?
Behold, the hour comes, yea, is now come.
And I told you he's within hours away from him being Judas bringing the high priest and all that to arrest Jesus.
Right?
He goes, the hour is coming.
Yay, it has now come.
That you shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone, and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
Cause he said, basically they're gonna come arrest him, and crucify him, right?
And that's when the apostles start splitting apart.
And these things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace.
In the world you have tribulation, right?
But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
So he's saying the world's going to give you tribulation.
It's the same as what I was saying, right?
We are going to go through tribulation in the world.
And we go through tribulations.
And the great tribulation will come.
But he says, be of good cheer.
Because he's overcome the world.
So when the world gives you tribulation, that's troubles, right?
Don't let it bother you.
Be good and cheer about it.
Be happy about it, because Jesus already overcame them.
So, and it continues on to chapter 17.
And again, this is his final instructions to the apostles.
Stuff that he never told them before, because he was with them for years.
He didn't need to tell him at the time Now's the time to tell him to prep them Because the time's coming Within hours at this point in time, right?
The time has come in when he's going to be led away in captivity and executed.
The crucifixion.
So guys, thank you for tuning in to this here.
Um, and I know it's a little quick here.
Sometimes we spend like 45 minutes on these things.
I try to keep it within an hour.
And I just let the Holy Spirit lead through it.
And if you got any questions, comments, or anything like that, please put it in the comment section.
But, um, yeah, just, uh, quickly go over this again.
This is, again, just Jesus explaining in vivid details.
That he's gonna be executed, he's gonna resurrect, because they see him again after the resurrection.
On the first day of the Sunday, when Mary Madeline says the tomb was empty, right?
Later on, he appeared to them in the spirit.
And they all rejoice for that.
At first, they're all sorrowful because Jesus is on a cross, crucified, right?
Goes into the grave, they put him in the tomb.
And even though they believed him, but I think some still doubted and thought he was just gonna be dead, right?
But they went to the tomb, found out the tomb was empty.
The angel told Mary Magdalene, hey, he's already gone.
We're gonna get into that as the time goes on.
The next chapter's there, right?
So, this is something you guys, please read on your own.
Don't take my word or anybody else's word for it.
Read it on your own.
Very important.
That's why we have these instructions here.
To always do that.
Trust in God's plan.
Don't take anybody else's word for it.
Not even mine.
Read it for yourself.
And let me know what you get out of it.
Put it in the comments section.
And if you got any questions, comments, or anything like that.
Put it in the comments section.
And I'll get back to you.
