In your precious name we say amen.
So now we do that guys.
We read the scripture in context.
Very important to do.
We read the scripture in context because context is key.
Let the scripture interpret scripture.
Let the Holy Spirit write the word of God upon our hearts.
So if you've got a Bible, please open it up on shakerrakeradio.com, the audio edition.
Please open up your Bibles.
And if you're watching on the video edition, we use King James.
It's right up on the screen here.
So, now we start at verse 1 here, of course, chapter 13.
And when we left off the last chapter here, Jesus is saying that his time is near, and you need to follow.
And he was saying how people, even men, a lot of people don't believe in him.
Even though they see the prophecies that came true right in front of their faces.
Talking mainly about the Jewish elders and the Pharisees and all them.
Yeah.
And he's glorifying the Father the whole time.
He goes, I have not come for me, but I have come to glorify the Father.
And he said, he gave me a commandment to speak what I should say and what I should speak, right?
And I know that his commandment is life everlasting, and whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, I so I speak.
So, let's get down to chapter 13 here.
So, now before the Feast of the Passover, like I said to you guys, I'm going to keep emphasizing this too, because today's society, today's so-called Christian churches and all that have been massively hijacked.
Passover has been completely removed from the churches.
Why?
It's ridiculous.
Oh, it's just for the Jews.
No, it's not.
The early Christians celebrated the Passover.
The Church Fathers celebrated the Passover.
The followers of Jesus themselves, the many disciples, apostles, I'm sorry, and the twelve disciples celebrated the Passover.
Jesus celebrated the Passover.
So now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was to come, that he should depart out of this world into the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, that he should depart out of this world into the Father, having loved his own which were there.
So if you understand where we are in this point in time in the scripture, this is days before his crucifixion.
Days.
And supper being ended, and man you know, this supper here was a Passover feast.
Jesus took part of that.
So in the supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him.
And man you know, the whole time Jesus knew Judas was going to betray him.
He even said, when are you going to betray me?
That was a few chapters back.
So Jesus known that the Father had given all things into his hands and that he was Come from God and went to God.
But as you can see, right now is days before he gets captured and crucified.
So he rises from supper and laid aside his garments and took a towel and girded himself.
And after he poured water to the basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and wiped them with the towel wherein he was girded.
So this is Jesus, right?
Remind you, the disciples, right?
The followers of Jesus, right?
This is God in the flesh.
The creator of all things, in the flesh, right here, right?
Washing his followers' feet.
And if you want to compare this, you say, Queen Elizabeth, which you would lie, right?
It's like her walking around, washing her shirt, which you would never do.
Because we know these kings and queens in the earth are pure evil.
It'd be like President Biden going around washing all our feet.
Which we know it's not going to happen.
Yeah, he's lucky he can wash his own feet.
But, I'm just trying to make a comparison here, right?
And you say, well yeah, no president would ever wash our feet.
Yeah, you're right.
So, Jesus is above all kings and queens and presidents, right?
He's a creator!
In the flesh!
And he's washing our feet!
Could you only imagine the humbleness that these guys felt?
Don't do that, Jesus, please.
So they went to Simon Peter, right?
And Peter said unto him, Lord, Does thou wash my feet?
Why do you wash my feet?
He's asking, right?
Jesus' answer said to him, What I do, thou knowest not now, but thou shalt know thereafter.
So he's saying, because Peter's like, whoa, whoa, hold on.
What's going on here?
We should be washing your feet, Jesus.
Why are you washing ours?
That's what he's saying, right?
And Jesus tells him, right, hold on.
He's like, yeah, don't worry about it.
You don't know right now.
You don't understand what I'm doing.
But you will later.
That's exactly what he's saying right there.
So Peter said to him, that I shall never wash my feet.
And Jesus answered him, because he was like, yeah, because Peter was like, yeah, I don't, I don't feel comfortable, you know, that the thing is, because we serve you, Lord, we should be washing your feet, so you should not wash my feet.
And Jesus answered him and said, if I wash thee not, thou has no part with me.
So again, at first the apostles, and right now we must speak and think, so I wouldn't let Jesus wash my feet, because I would feel... I don't even know how to explain it.
I can't.
I can't explain it in words.
Not that you don't want him to wash your feet, but you'd be like, yeah.
We're too beneath him for him to wash our feet.
That's how I feel.
But, there's an explanation for this, right?
And that's how Peter feels right now.
We're below you, Lord!
We're just servants!
You know, you're our master, we should be washing your feet.
And like, yeah, I feel horrible for you to wash my feet.
That, you know, because I should be washing yours, you know?
I hope I explained that right, and I hope you know what I mean.
So, this is how Peter felt.
But Jesus told him, if I don't wash your feet, you have no part with me.
So Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and head.
And Jesus said to him, He that washed need not save to wash his feet, but is very clean wilt, and ye are clean, but not all.
Again, so, he that is, it's like old English, it's like real hard to sometimes, you gotta really grasp it, you know?
So, he that is washed needed not to save to wash his feet.
But it's clean everywhere else, I guess.
And you are clean, but not all.
For he knew who should betray him, therefore he said, ye are not all clean.
So Simon Peter, he's like, yeah, I'm sorry, my feet, that's just dirty.
My hands and my head is dirty also.
But Jesus said, don't, oh yeah.
He got his wash needed.
So if you need to hear that he needed washing.
Not to say to wash his feet.
But to save you.
You know?
I hope I'm explaining this right.
And I hope you get the point of what he's trying to say.
I'm here to save you.
Okay?
And I'm here to wash you.
And no, it's not... It's more of a symbolic gesture.
That's what he's trying to prove, right?
He's physically washing their feet, yes.
But he's trying to prove a symbolic gesture here.
That if you wash yourself from me, with me I'm sorry, you'll be clean, right?
So he knew Judas was going to betray him, right?
So he said right out, you are not all clean.
In other words, somebody in here is not clean.
And he's talking about Judas.
Now people say, well, if he knew it was Judas, why did he stop him in the first place?
Because, here's why, okay?
And I know a lot of people raise that question.
Jesus knew Judas was going to betray him, so why did he allow him to hang around?
Because if Jesus would have said, right from the start, right out loud and at the table, right?
That Judas was going to betray him, all the other disciples there would have probably kicked his butt or slew him.
Call him a traitor and everything, they kicked him out.
But here's the thing, right?
Why Jesus kept him around for?
Because Judas was the key.
You don't understand?
You know what I mean?
You don't understand here?
Judas was the key for him to fulfill his prophecy.
Because if they kicked Judas out, right?
It would have prolonged his crucifixion.
Judas was being used, and yeah, you know he's a traitor and all that, but Jesus kept him around because Judas ended up revealing to the Jewish priests and all that where he was, to lead him into captivity.
So if he would have booted Judas out, one or two things could happen.
Judas would have instantly ran to the Pharisees, right?
And turned them in.
So one or two things happened, he would have just run away.
It would have either prolonged the crucifixion, or it would have made it sooner than he was ready for.
So he kept him around for his plan.
So at the right time that he knew when Jesus was going to portray him, if he kept him around, it worked according to his plan.
So that's why he kept Judas around.
So I know a lot of those questions raised in a lot of different people, you know?
So, and after he had washed their feet, right?
He had taken his garment and was set down again and said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?
So he's, he asked him, do you all know what I have done to you?
So they're looking like, well, like, imagine that you had just got your feet washed by Jesus, right?
And they took the towel and dried their feet, their feet, right?
And were just puzzled, like, we should be washing your feet, but yeah, you washed our feet, right?
And he's asking, do you know what I have done to you?
You call me master and lord, right?
And say, well, so far so I am.
If I then, your lord and master, have washed your feet, he also ought to wash one another's feet.
Do you get this now?
So, if Jesus washed our feet, and this is symbolically making us clean.
When we came to the cross, guys, Jesus washed all our feet.
Not physically, not even taking our shoes off and all.
This is symbolically washing you from sin.
Do you get what he's saying now?
And forgiveness and everything else, right?
Now he's saying, right?
Even though only Jesus can forgive, yes.
But washing one another's feet.
Help each other.
For I have given you an example that you should do as I have done to you.
So if you can humble yourself to your servants.
This is what happened, right?
Jesus humbled himself.
Beyond all recognition, right?
He humbled himself.
No other Lord or anything like that in the world would ever do this to their own servants.
Humble themselves below their servants.
And he's saying, if I could do this for you, you should have no problem doing this for other people.
And it goes on, right?
Because he says, verily, verily, I say to you, which is a serious statement, the servant is not greater than his lord.
Neither he that is sent is greater than he that sent him.
So the servant is us, right?
We're not greater than the Lord.
Jesus is our Lord, right?
We're not greater than him.
And neither he that is set greater... So he's saying, we are not greater than him, bro.
But he is not greater than the Father.
If you know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
Be happy to do them.
And guys, like I say all the time, if you've got any questions, comments, answers about any of this, right?
Questions, comments, or whatever the case, right?
In the comments section, put it in there, and I'll get back to you.
And verse 18 says, I speak not of you all, I know whom I have chosen, but that the Scripture may be fulfilled.
Talking about all the Old Testament, the Torah and all that, right?
He that eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.
Now I tell you before it comes that when it is to come to pass you may believe that I am he.
So again, he that eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.
Now I told you this before and you know when somebody's gonna betray me here.
And when it comes to passion, you've got to believe that I am in.
You've got to believe that I am the Messiah.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whom I send, receives me.
And he that receives me, him that sent me.
So if you receive Jesus, right?
And he that receives me, that sent me, right?
So So it was just saying that he that receives whoever I send, that's us receiving him, right?
That he that receives me, him that sent me, so also the Father as well.
And when Jesus had said this, he was troubled in spirit and testified and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
Now again, if Jesus was to say right here, right now, right?
At this point, they're all gathered together.
If he was to say that it was Judas right now, right?
What would happen?
All the other disciples would have literally, again, probably beat his butt or probably killed him.
Or kicked him out, whatever the case, right?
Judas would have been gone.
And again, Jesus did not speak his name yet because he knew Judas had to fulfill the prophecy.
Because again, if they kicked Judas out right at this point or killed him, He would have never been led into captivity.
And people say, well that would be cool because Jesus would have stayed on the earth, right?
No!
Because Jesus is... This was planned, okay?
Jesus' point of coming here is to be the sacrifice for our sins.
That's the only reason why he came in the flesh.
To save us.
And don't worry, we're going to be with him forever.
So then the disciples looked at one another, doubting of whom he spoke.
And now there was a leaning on Jesus bosom, one of the disciples, whom Jesus loved.
Simon Peter, therefore, beckoned to him that he should ask who it should be of whom they spoke.
So Peter's like, who is it?
Who is it?
Who is it?
And then, lying on Jesus' breast, was his chest there, said unto him, Lord, who is it?
Jesus answered, he is it, to whom I shall give soap, when I have dipped it.
So I think this is the bread when he dipped the bread or something.
I'm not sure what that is.
And when he had dipped the sop.
Let's see what that is.
What is sop?
I like just like in the Bible.
All right, good.
A dish consisting of a stale, damp or soaked in cold tea and served with a dollop of jam on top of for tea.
So.
It's a dish consistent or whatever that is in the plate there.
So stale damper.
So stale bread or whatever that is.
Oh, bread or toast, okay.
So it's a stale bread or toast or bread soaked with liquid food stuff.
So, I'd just like to know what the stuff means.
That's the point of this, um, these series.
Just to get to know what everything is and so we can have full understanding.
And again, like I said, if you see a word in here that you don't understand what it means or a statement, and I didn't really explain it, please put it in the comments section and I'll, uh, I'll address it.
And I will look that up.
So it's very important that we need to understand everything, because everything's all relevant.
Every single bit.
So we fully understand and grasp what this chapter has to offer us.
So again, Peter is like, lying on the breast, you know, leaning against Jesus' chest, right?
And asking, who is it?
And Jesus answers, and he said, it's the person, basically, who I shall give sop.
And when I have dipped it, and when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
And after the sop, Satan entered into him.
Then said Jesus unto him, That those who do so, do quickly.
So, Jesus gave Judas Iscariot the sop, that's the toast, right?
Dipped in the tea.
Gave it to Judas Iscariot, right?
And after he gave it to him, Satan entered into Judas.
Then Jesus told him, whatever you gotta do, go do it quickly.
Because he knew he had to do this for Judas to go betray him so he could be crucified.
He could have stopped Judas right there, if he wanted to.
Or the apostles.
But no, Jesus didn't do this because it had to be done.
So now, no man at the table knew for what intent he spoke unto this.
So they didn't understand anything he was saying, because the person that did this, I'm going to give sop, and I have dipped it, right?
And he gave it to Judas, and they still didn't comprehend what Jesus was even talking about.
But he looked at Judas and said, hey, after Satan entered him, he said, go do what you have to do, and do it quickly.
And for some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, buy those things that we have need against the feast.
Or that he should give something to the poor.
So at the time when Jesus was doing all this, right, they think that Jesus is telling them to go buy some stuff for the feast.
And some stuff for the poor, right?
So a completely different interpretation that they didn't understand what Jesus was saying.
So, again, this had to be done this way, and I think Jesus set confusion with the other ones, purposely.
Because, again, if they all knew that Judas was going to betray them, they would have, yeah, they would have hidden them with a weapon or something.
Something would happen, you know what I mean?
So that's why there was confusion.
It was meant that way for a purpose.
All right, so verse 30.
He then received the sop and went immediately out and it was night.
So when he received the sop, he went out again.
At the time, it's just that the apostles thinking, alright, he's just going out to buy some food for the feast and buy some stuff for the poor.
He's going out shopping, okay?
That's what they thought, alright?
So, and they didn't understand Jesus was pointing out that he's the traitor.
But again, I think the spirit of confusion went over them purposely.
Because he knew, okay, this was the point when Judas went to them to betray him, right?
So, to the chief priests.
And therefore, when he had gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him.
If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightaway glorify him.
So this is the glory of God about to happen.
He goes, little children, yet little while I am with you.
He's talking to the apostles, calling them little children.
While I am with you, right?
You shall seek me.
And I have said unto the Jews, where I go, you cannot come.
So now I say to you, a new commandment I give to you.
Now I want to point this out, right?
Let me get to this first, and I'm going to point something out.
Right?
A new commandment I've given to you.
That you won't love one another as I have loved you.
That you also love one another.
Right?
Now, I want to point something out.
Right?
Because of the dispensationalism.
The John Nelson Dobby garbage.
The Schofield Bible and all that.
Right?
The Jesuits.
Right?
They sent a confusion amongst the modern day Christian churches.
Right?
This new commandment is not at all replacing or abolishing the Ten Commandments.
As you'll see in the scriptures, that's where we get to.
Right?
Jesus, right in Revelation 14, 12, he says, And yes, and he also explains that his two great commandments are the hangers which the Ten Commandments hang on.
They're not abolished.
They're not just for the Jews.
As we proved so many times, even before Mount Sinai, these were already law.
They were just reiterated in the Ten Commandments.
These were already laws set by God.
Like the Sabbath was set by God on creation.
Long before a Jew or anybody walked the face of the earth.
So no, when you hear that the Ten Commandments are just for the Jews, no they're not.
They're for anybody who loves God.
Period.
Jesus kept the commandments and he taught men to do so.
As we demonstrated with the last several chapters, guys.
Especially in the Book of Matthew and Mark.
And by this show, all men know that you are my disciples.
If you have love one to another.
So that goes for us too, guys.
There's another commandment he's given that's his commandment.
And again, he says, love one another as I have loved you and also love one another.
That you also love one another.
And by this show, all men know that you are my disciples.
If you have loved one to another.
So that goes for us too, guys.
Love one another.
You're not enemies.
Love them.
Thank you.
Thank you.
It's hard to do in this world today, because we got people doing unspeakable things to children.
And all the stuff that's going on in the schools.
And yeah, it's horrible, right?
But remember, it's not them.
It's okay to hate the sin.
It's okay to hate where it's coming from.
That's Satan.
But love one another.
Pray for them.
It's hard to deal with these evil people out there, but pray for them that they may be churned.
And by you doing this, you lead by example, right?
And you gotta affect people positively.
So Simon Peter said to him, Lord, where are you going?
And Jesus answered him and says, where I go, you cannot follow me now.
He says, it doesn't mean you can't follow me, but not now, right?
But you shall follow me afterwards.
So where I'm going, I'm going to the Father.
Right now you can't come with me, but you will follow me afterwards, he's saying, right?
But where I'm going, nobody can come with me right now.
So, Peter said unto him, Lord, why can't I follow you?
Why can't I follow you right now?
I will lay down my life for you, he's saying.
And Jesus answered him and says, Will thou lay down thy life for my sake?
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow till thou hast denied me thrice.
So, what is he saying?
At this day, right?
You're telling me right now you're going to lay down your life for me?
For my sake.
He's asking to beat it, right?
But he's saying I'm telling you right now.
If you're telling me that you're going to lay down your life for me, right?
For my sake.
But I tell you, right?
Very, very serious statement.
And I'm telling you.
The cock shall not crow till you have denied me three times.
So, what that means, the rooster goes... Little sound effects, yeah?
Yeah, that's what that is.
By the time you hear that at the end of the night, you're gonna have to die to me three times.
And which carries over to the next chapter.
Uh, chapter 14.
So this is right before his crucifixion.
As we're speaking right now, right?
As we are speaking.
At this point in time in history, right?
While this is going on, Judas is already left, remember?
Judas went out and they thought, the apostles thought he went out to go buy food for the feast in Nepal, right?
As this is going on right here, Judas is already at the temple, the synagogue.
Telling the chief priest, and for 40 pieces of silver, mind you, right?
He's telling the chief priest where he is exactly.
He's ready to turn in Jesus.
Remember that, right?
Now, keep that in mind for the next chapter.
So guys, thank you for joining us here.
Awesome, awesome context.
And it's funny right now, because right now, I'm sure people are going to view this months from now, or in the future, whatever the case.
But right now, we're in the month of April, early April of 2023.
We are right around the corner from Passover.
So it's kind of significant that this would come up now.
It's pretty cool.
So, and I, you know, yeah, we have Passover anyway.
So, this is just amazing stuff to know.
And guys, these next couple chapters, please.
If you haven't paid attention, really, okay?
The next few chapters we're about to show, right?
