Time Text
If you're receiving this transmission, you are the resistance.
Declaring war on the New World Order.
TruthRadioShow.com Shalom and welcome to the Dan Bedani Show on TruthRadioShow.com So we're in the Gospel of Luke chapter 23 in this comprehensive in-depth study.
We don't just read through this.
We actually study word for word and everything in context.
So before we begin, we've got a specific Bible study approach.
Number one is to pray for wisdom and understanding.
So let's do that right now.
So, Lord, Yeshua, Messiah, Jesus, we come to you, our Lord and Savior.
Thank you so much for going to Calvary for us and spilling your blood for us to atone for our sins, Lord.
And we ask you to forgive us for our sins that we've committed today, any trespasses or abominations or anything bad, Lord, we ask you to forgive us for it.
And we ask you, Heavenly Father, That you may give us this divine wisdom and understanding for your word today.
In this case, the book of Luke chapter 23.
And we ask you to send, descend, I'm sorry, the Holy Spirit upon us and in us to teach us your divine word that nobody else could do but you, Lord.
And we ask you in your heavenly name and also We pray for everybody at these times, everybody that's sick or just going through any kind of an ailment or pain, spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, whatever the case, we ask you to comfort them, Lord, and heal them as well.
We ask you in your mighty name, Amen.
So that being said, guys, we also read the Scripture in context, because context is key.
Context is what, unfortunately, most ministries and churches leave out.
They like to give you a couple of verses here, then go to another chapter, or whatever the case, or a book.
We don't do that.
You don't do that at all.
You read the Scripture in context.
Take your time doing it.
It's not a race.
Read it in context.
And I don't know, people say, well, I can read it in two minutes.
Well, any of us can.
That's not what it's about yet.
What it's about is taking your time to absorb the information.
Academia can't teach the Bible the way it's supposed to be taught.
It's got to be done through the Holy Spirit.
It's got to be taking your time and understanding these things.
And also, let the Scripture interpret Scripture.
So, before we get going here, I want to thank everybody for joining us, and please subscribe to truthradioshow.com.
So guys, if you've got a Bible, I suggest you use the King James Bible.
But we do get it on screen for the people watching in the video edition.
The ones watching on audio edition on ShakenWakeRadio.com.
Thank you, Annie, for carrying the show here on ShakenWakeRadio.com.
So if you've got a Bible, please get it out.
And we suggest a King James, Geneva, or something older.
We just frown upon newer versions of the Bible.
But if that's all you've got, open her up.
So here we go, guys.
Awesome study today.
We just left off of chapter 22 of the last video, and we talked about the Passover, and the apostles preparing for the Passover, and the betrayal of Jesus.
So, here we go.
We're up to chapter 23.
We've got one more to go after this, one more chapter, then we start the endeavor for the book of Luke.
That's going to be exciting.
I can't wait for that.
But two more chapters here.
We've got chapter 23, then chapter 24 at the next video.
And so let's go.
So the whole multitude of them arose and led him into Pilate.
So now this is Jesus in captivity, as we said in chapter 22.
Chapter 22, he was... 21 and 22, he was betrayed by Judas Iscariot.
And he was captured for arrest.
Now he's on trial.
So, and a multitude of them arose and led them into Pilate.
And also John, not John, I'm sorry, Peter, betrayed, um, denied Jesus three times.
As he said, by the end of the night when the cock rose, he would go to deny me three times.
So that was in chapter 22.
So now, let me just actually go back there because I want everybody to have a full understanding of this.
So as soon as the day was, the elders of the people, the chief priests, and the scribes came together and led him to the council, saying, out there be the Christ and tell us...
And he said, If you tell you, you will not believe.
If I ask you, you will not answer me or let me go.
Hereafter shall the Son of Man sit at the right hand of the power of God.
And they said of all, Art thou not the Son of God?
And he said unto them, Yes, I am.
And they said, what we need any further witnesses?
We ourselves have heard his own mouth.
So, after all the... All the times they try to goad Jesus into saying blasphemy or anything like that, right?
Now Jesus knows, sorry, his time is near.
The mission of Him coming is to die for our sins.
So, Jesus says, yes, I'm the Son of God.
And to them, you know, the Pharisees, the scribes, and the priests, this is kaput blasphemy, because they refuse to acknowledge Him as the Messiah.
Even though Moses said exactly all the details about Jesus, so did John the Baptist and all the prophets of the law, but they still refuse to acknowledge Him as the Messiah.
And she said, yes, I am.
I'm the son of God.
And boom, right there.
They said, what more evidence do we need?
And that's what they used to convict him.
So here we are.
And a whole multitude of them rose and led him into Pilate.
So now after he was convicted, now for saying he's the son of God, right?
This is all we need, they said, right?
So they led him to Pilate, Pontius Pilate.
So, and they began to accuse him saying, we found this fellow perverting the nation and forbidden to give tribute to Caesar saying that he himself is Christ King.
First of all, that's a lie, because Jesus didn't forbid anybody to give tribute to Caesar.
And in the last chapter, when they said, you know, you've been about paying taxes, right?
And he tried to go get Caesar.
But Jesus said, no, render unto Caesars what Caesars have got to God.
So this is a lie.
So they're using these lies to get Caesar, I'm sorry, Pilate here, to go against Jesus.
So this punches Pilate, yeah.
And Pilate asked him, saying, art thou the king of the Jews?
And he answered and said, yes.
Jesus said, yes, I am.
And said, Pilate, to the chief priests of the people, I find no fault in this, man.
Now you always hear all the time that the Romans killed Jesus, right?
Which they did, they did, alright?
But they always leave out the fact that the Jewish leaders are the ones who pushed us.
Pontius Pilate went to bats for Jesus several times, as we're going to demonstrate here.
Several times he went to try to stop Jesus from being, you know, crucified.
Because Pilate, he admits that, yeah, he did nothing wrong, but we'll get to that.
So verse 5, So when Pilate says, hey, I find no fault in this man, now the Jewish leaders act.
the Jew being from Galilee to this place.
So when Pilate says, hey, I find no fault in this man, now the Jewish leaders, they got ticked off.
And when Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether a man were a Galilean.
And as soon as he knew that he belonged into Herod's jurisdiction.
King Herod there, right?
He belonged in his jurisdiction.
And I don't think Herod was a king at the time.
I may be mistaken.
Yeah, he was actually.
So it was King Herod's jurisdiction.
And he sent him to Herod.
And who himself was also a Jerusalem at the time.
So, Pilate's like, alright, this ain't my jurisdiction.
Yeah, he's from Galilee, whatever, you gotta take him to King Herod, right?
So, and when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad, for he was desirous to see him of a long season.
So, as you know, King Herod, he's been for the longest time waiting to see Jesus, even when Jesus was born.
Now, mind you, King Herod's one says, alright, we want You know when Jesus was born because people acknowledge that Jesus was king.
King Herod sent people out to kill all the newborns up to two years old in the area, right?
So now he's been waiting for decades to actually see Jesus, right?
And it's probably not in a good way, but anyway, but he says Because he had many things of him and he hoped to have seen some miracles done by him So over the years he heard all the, you know, first he wanted Jesus dead, because he was jealous of him being acknowledged as a king, right?
So over the years he had heard many things about Jesus, and he wanted to see the stuff himself.
Then he questioned with him in many words, but he answered him nothing.
So Jesus just sat there and pleaded the fifth, if you want to call it that, right?
Or, you know, right to remain silent.
As we call it today in this modern day in the United States.
So Jesus sat there and said nothing.
After all the questioning, right?
And a chief priest and scribe stood and vehemently accused him.
So they're throwing the book at Jesus.
That's what they're doing.
And Herod, with his men of war, set him on naught, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.
They mocked him and arrayed him, and as we get to Matthew, they put a crown on his head and did all kinds of despicable things to Jesus.
Then Herod's like, you know, I don't want to deal with this.
Send him back.
Send him to Pilate.
So in the same day, Pilate and Herod were made friends together.
For before, they were an enmity between themselves.
So there was a conflict between Pilate and Aaron.
So in Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers of the people, and the people, I'm sorry, rulers and the people, he said to them, you have brought me this manna to me he said to them, you have brought me this manna to me as one of the perverted of
And behold, I have examined him before you and have found no fault in this man, touching those things whereof you accuse him of.
Said, no, nor yet, King Herod, for I sent you to him, and lo, nothing worthy of the death is done unto him.
So, as Pilate said to Herod there, I sent you to him, but I have no reason to convict him, whatever the case, right?
Nothing's worthy of him dying, because the Jewish leaders want Jesus dead, openly stating, right?
So they're trying to plead the case before Pilot and Herod why he should be put to death, right?
And I will therefore chastise him and release him.
For it is necessary he must release one unto the feast.
So what he's talking about was a guy, well I'll just explain to you, I'll get to that.
And they cried out at all, I'm sorry, they cried out all at once saying, away with this man and release him to Barnabas.
Barabas, I'm sorry.
So, as what's going on here, because of the feast, right?
There's two convicted people.
There's Jesus and Barabbas, right?
And because of the feast and the traditions, they have to take a vote with the people, and everybody else there, who they're gonna release.
Is it gonna be Jesus or Barabbas?
Mind you, Barabbas was a criminal, did many things, right?
Jesus did nothing wrong, right?
For a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.
So this guy, Barabbas, is describing him as a murderer.
So Pilate, therefore, willing to release Jesus, spake again to them.
Now, Pilate's advocating for Jesus.
This guy did nothing wrong.
I can't find nothing on him.
But, you got a guy over here, Barabbas, that's a murderer.
So, I ask you people, he's trying to advocate for Jesus, but I ask you people, who should we release?
But they cried out, saying, Crucify Him!
Crucify Him!
Because at the time, the Jewish leaders could all, to the people there, now again, multitudes of people loved Jesus, right?
But the people that were there were all in on the take, basically, to condemn Jesus.
And the thing is, here's the thing too, what they did, now, again, Pilate left it up to the people, the Jewish elders and the people, right?
Who they're gonna release?
A murderer?
Barabbas?
Or Jesus, the man who did nothing wrong, because he said he's the Son of God, to that much blasphemy, right?
So they literally let a murderer go, free.
Scott free, there you go, you're all set.
Violation of the Sixth Commandment.
Let him go and, yeah, let's kill Jesus, right?
And he said it to them the third time.
Why?
What evil has he done?
Again, the third time that Pilate is advocating for Jesus says, what has he done everybody?
Please, he has done no evil.
And I have found no cause of death in him.
I will therefore chastise him and let him go.
So he's right about that he's about to let Jesus go, right?
Because he's like, this guy did nothing wrong.
What the heck's all your problem?
You got a murderer over here and you guys don't want to convict him, but yet you want to convict a guy because, dare he said he's the son of God.
So, and they were instant with loud voices, so people, they erupted.
No, no!
Kill Jesus!
Kill Jesus!
Requiring that he might be crucified.
And the voices of them and the chief priests prevailed.
So, these chief priests and all these people, sitting there, condemning Jesus that he did nothing wrong.
And now mind you, we just got our record here, that Pilate three times tried to say, no, he did nothing wrong, I can't convict him, what am I going to charge him for?
So, and Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required.
Because according to the traditions, and I think it was up to Pilate personally, Pilate would have released him in a second.
But because of the law of the tradition, whatever it is, on the feast that when criminals are brought, one was to be released upon the vote of the people.
Anyway, and he released unto them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison whom they had desired, but he delivered Jesus to their will.
So, because of these people, right, again, Barabbas, Committed sedition and murder.
Sickening, right?
And they just said, yeah, we don't care about that, just release him.
So, God knows what else Barabbas did after that, you know what I mean?
Yeah, they're just like a wad of criminals, basically.
But yet, yeah, they delivered Jesus.
We gotta convict Jesus and kill him.
So, and as they led him away, they laid hold upon Simon, Simon Peter there.
Well, I'm sorry, it's not Simon.
Simon, a Sararian coming out of the country, and on him that laid on the cross, that he may be buried after Jesus.
And there followed him a great company of people and of a woman, which was bewailed and lameth him.
So, but Jesus turned to them and said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves and your children.
Because, he told people not to weep for him, because this is what he's, this is the purpose of him being there.
That's why when Jesus was in front of King Herod, right?
If you'll notice, right?
Herod's asking him all this information, right?
Jesus is not answering him.
Now, if Jesus, Jesus could easily plead with King Herod, Say, hey, listen, blah, blah, blah, you know.
And more than likely, Harry would be like, all right, you're free.
So this had to be done.
Thank you.
Thank you.
For behold, the days are coming in which they shall say, blessed are they that are barren, and the wombs that never bear, and the paps which never give sap.
Which is breastfeeding.
Then shall they begin to say unto the mountains, Fall on us, and to the hills cover us.
For if they do these things in the green, what shall be done in the dry?" So there's a lot of description about this still, right?
That's the world elite.
You know, in the end days, they're gonna go to these underground shelters and everything else when, oh, proverbial poop hits the fan, if you will, right?
When Jesus returns.
And they're going to be praying and hoping that these mountains fall on them.
cave in and all that stuff because they don't want to see the face of God.
He's talking about one day this is going to happen.
Behold, those days are coming.
Which we're rapidly approaching those days, right?
And there were also two other malefactors which led him to be put to death.
And when they were coming to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him.
And the malefactors, one on the right hand and one on the left.
So malefactors, malefactors, I'm sorry, those are the executioners, basically.
And let me just get a definition of that because I like to know what...
A person who commits a crime or something wrong.
Oh, okay.
All right.
I'm glad I looked this up guys because um, I already gave you the wrong definition I thought it was the guys who actually Put um, you know the executioners but person who commits a crime is something wrong.
So the two male factors, right?
So let's read that again, right and I'll explain what that and there also were two other male factors Remember the two men on the cross?
So, at this point, right, there's three people scheduled to be crucified.
Two other malefactors, those are the people who committed the crime, right?
As we read, I'm so happy I got the definition of that because I almost gave you the wrong...
That would have realized it probably later and it would have been too late.
Well, yeah, they're not executioners.
They're to be executed.
They committed crimes and everything and they were scheduled to be crucified.
So at this point, there were three people scheduled to be crucified.
Two thieves and also Jesus.
So they were led to be put to death, and when they would come to the place, which was called Galilee, right?
There they crucified him, and the malefactors.
So one on the right hand, and the other one on the left.
Then Jesus said, Father forgive them, for they know not what they do, as they parted his raiment and cast lots.
So the ones who, you know, nailed him to the cross and everything else, and Jesus is forgiving them.
Imagine that, the ones nailing you to the cross and doing like... You know, hurting you and everything else.
Yeah.
Father forgive them because they don't know what they do.
Because these are soldiers just taking orders from Pilot.
They have no clue.
And I know just, you know, following orders doesn't cut it.
I understand that.
But in this case, yeah.
To them, it's just like, they don't understand what's going on.
They think it's some criminal or something like that.
Because remember, only criminals were crucified in those days.
People did very bad things.
So to them, they probably had no idea at all.
You know, thinking Jesus probably is another, just one of these perps there.
And that's why Jesus said, forgive them, Lord, they don't know what they do.
And they parted as raiment and cast lots.
And the people stood beholden, and the rulers also with them, derided them, saying, He saved others, let him save himself, if he be the Christ he had chosen, right?
So they're basically mocking him, they're like, go save yourself, come down from that cross, have some angels come down to save you, or, you know, shouting all kinds of stuff at him, right?
Mocking him.
As he's sitting there, you know, in the meantime, it's indescribable measures, basically, before they were crucified on the cross, they beat the snot out of these guys.
The two thieves and Jesus.
Laying there in bloody pulps, and then, After carrying the cross for a long distance, right?
Those things are heavy.
So, laying there in a bloody pulp after being beaten, they strung him up to the cross, nailed him, I'm sorry, to the cross.
So, they're laying, you know, hanging there just like, you know, just waiting for the, uh, to die.
And they were all yelling, you know, people there, accusers, just yell, all the Jewish people and all that, just, not all the Jews, but the leaders, I'm sorry, sitting there mocking them and everything else.
And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him and offering him reticah and saying, if there'll be the kingdom of Jews, save yourself.
So there'll go a whole group of people sitting there laughing and mocking them and everything else.
So, and a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek and Latin and Hebrew.
This is the King of the Jews.
So three different languages it looks like.
Letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew.
Three different languages.
They wrote, this is the King of the Jews.
And one of the malfactors, again, one of the, you know, the malfactors is the two guys next to him on the crosses as well, right?
One of them, which were hanged and derailed on him, right?
Saying, if this be the Christ, save thyself and us.
So he's saying to Jesus, if you truly are the Son of God, save yourself and save us too.
But the other one answered and rebuked him, saying, does not fear God.
See, he told that in the same condemnation.
So, you know, do you not fear God, seeing though we are in the same condemnation?
So he's rebuking the other thief there, on the cross.
So, you know, hold on.
You don't fear God, and you don't see that we're in the same condemnation as he is?
And we indeed justly, for we received a due reward for our deeds, but this man has done nothing at all.
So, One of these, you know, the malefactors, right?
And again, there are all three of them on the cross, right?
One of them is like, oh, save yourself and save us.
If you'd be the son of God, just mocking them kind of a little bit, too.
But the other one is like, hold on, hold on just one second.
It's like, do you not fear God?
And you don't understand how we're all in the same kind of nation, but the thing is, me and you, We deserve to be here.
We've done bad things to be here.
And we're getting our due reward for our deeds, right?
We deserve to be here to die.
But this man, Jesus, he's done nothing wrong.
He doesn't deserve to be up here.
Then he looked at Jesus and said, Lord, remember me when you come into thy kingdom.
When you're into your Father's kingdom, right?
So Jesus said unto him, Verily I say to you, Today you shall be with me in paradise.
Because this man, right?
Mind you, right?
These guys are thieves and everything else, right?
Up until this guy's ready to die.
And instantly, because he put his faith in Jesus.
He didn't tempt him.
The other guy tempted him.
He shut the other guy up, said, don't tempt him.
Then, you know, he's like, he doesn't deserve to be up here like us.
We committed crimes, we did bad things, he did nothing wrong.
Then that's when he like really believed, yeah, faith in Jesus looked at him.
Said, Lord, remember me when you enter your Father's kingdom.
Now look at the key words for this, right?
And Jesus said to him, verily I say unto thee, today you shall be with me, where?
In paradise.
Now, check this out.
Now, the modern day churches, it's making me sick to tell you the truth, right?
And a lot of so-called theologians and all that, it's like when you die, you just go into the grave, you sleep.
You sleep, you don't have no recollection of nothing, and you wake up to be resurrected, right?
In the grave doesn't mean you sleep, okay?
Yeah, body slips when you slip in the grave, yeah, but that's not in the sense.
It's not like you just fall asleep and then you wake up and you're resurrected.
That's not how it works.
Look at the key word.
What does Jesus say?
You see heaven in there?
You see paradise.
Key word, paradise.
Where's paradise?
In Abraham's bosom.
It's the belly of the earth.
The shell.
And right across the way, there's a pit in between them, right across the way is hell.
These are two temporary places.
No, it's not purgatory.
Purgatory is a pagan thing.
That's nothing to do with this.
Paradise is where the dead in Christ go to.
As you read when you talk about Abraham, Father Abraham and the Lazarus and the rich man,
The rich man was in hell and uh Lazarus was in in paradise and it explained in detail how to avoid a cross you know in between them like a bottomless pit that you can't go there and they can't go here we covered this in the shop there and also Matthew and Mark too and if you missed the Matthew and Mark series guys we got them in the playlist yeah so we got paradise
So when you die, you don't just sleep and wake up one day and win the resurrection.
No.
You go to the grave.
Because when Jesus goes to the grave here after three days and three nights, He doesn't sleep and wake up three days and let it melt.
He goes to show.
And He redeems the lost souls in hell that people before Him didn't get a chance to be redeemed.
And He's also in paradise.
Paradise was, again, because Jesus dies, right?
He goes where?
To paradise.
And he goes over to cross the way to show, to redeem the lost souls and get the keys of hell.
Of Hades, right?
So this is spiritual warfare.
This here holds so much context.
That one verse.
That churches today completely lack the understanding of this.
No, they don't even want to teach it.
Now you got some people out there, like I said, yeah, they don't believe any of this stuff.
They can't comprehend that hell and paradise is actually in the earth, literally.
It's not figuratively, it's literally.
And again, you wouldn't even understand this, if you don't understand biblical cosmology, you're not gonna even comprehend this.
You're gonna think it's figuratively.
You need to understand biblical cosmology to understand this, literally.
And what biblical cosmology is, is the way God made the universe.
Well, the earth, whatever the case, and not the way NASA says and the scientists say.
So that's a whole different subject altogether.
So anyway, yeah.
So Jesus told the men, because he believed them and all that, and had faith in them, today you're going to be with me in paradise.
That day they all passed away, right?
And the sixth hour, it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
So for three hours, there was complete darkness all over the earth.
And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the mist.
You know, check this out, right?
There's a little significance that's just hit me, right?
When Jesus returns, how is it going to be here?
Because remember, right?
Matthew 24 and Luke 21 here.
Before he returns, what happens?
The sun and moon lose their light and the stars fall from heaven, right?
There's complete darkness.
So for three hours here, there's crucifixion.
From six to nine o'clock, right?
There was complete darkness on the entire earth.
That's how it's going to be when he returns.
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into my hands I commend my spirit.
And I have said this, thus gave up his ghost.
Then passed away.
So, this is a good study right here, right?
And this is why we need to dive into this context here.
This is something cool here.
Again, when Jesus returns, right?
As he died, he returned, right?
As he ascended from the mount of Olives, I'm sorry.
Because he comes back after this, yeah?
Three days, three nights later, he comes back in the Spirit, right?
But check this out.
When he died, he went to the Spirit, right?
There was darkness all over the earth.
And when he returns, in the future he had coming up, right?
The sun and moon are going to lose light, and, um, the stars are going to be shaken, the heavens are going to be shaken, and the stars are going to fall.
And he's going to come through the clouds of great power and glory.
That's a little study here I want you to get deeper into, because, uh, there's some time to show on that, because it's a little interesting.
There was darkness when he was killed, and there was darkness before he returns, right?
Because at this point right now, he returns as a spirit here, three days later, then he ascends into heaven from Mars.
Then he doesn't come back until the second coming, which is coming up soon.
Hopefully soon.
You know, there's a lot of things that have to happen, but yeah.
So once again, to narrate this here, You know, three of them were scheduled to be crucified, and two were thieves, and Jesus was innocent, right?
And one of the thieves said, hey, listen, we deserve to be here.
Jesus doesn't.
He didn't do nothing wrong.
Then that's when he finally believed.
He's like, you know what?
This is the Son of God.
This is the Messiah.
Then he told Jesus, asked Jesus to say, will you enter into your Father's kingdom and remember me?
And he said, very I say unto you, Jesus said to him, right?
Today, you shall be with me in paradise.
That's where the dead go in Christ.
Until the resurrection.
So, what happens, right?
When Jesus returns.
His final return here, right?
The dead in Christ, which is in paradise, rise.
And beat him in the end.
Then the living, whoever's left living here that believes in him, they're gonna rise after that, right?
Now the wicked who are in hell, and the wicked who are living... Alright, first of all, all the wicked who are living are gonna instantly be smited off the face of the earth.
And they're gonna go into hell real quick.
Then when Judgment Day comes, which is soon after that, very soon, all the dead are gonna be swept up from hell, literally through the oceans, that's why it's under the earth, yeah?
That's what the Bible describes it.
They are sucked up from hell into the oceans of the earth.
And each one of them is going to be set up for judgment.
And after judgment, everybody's sentenced, right?
All of them, their fallen angels, demons, Satan himself, and hell, are all cast into the lake of fire.
And that's when God cleanses the earth from new heaven and new earth.
So I just want to put that into perspective, so people get a clear understanding of this.
Because, unfortunately, churches and ministries are all teachers, because they don't know, or they just don't want to deal with it.
Sickness.
Luke 1, 5-1-1-C-3 churches, the watered-down ministries out there, those dispensational churches.
Sickness.
The prosperity teachers and all them, you know, they don't even touch this.
Jesus is the number one thing to know in the Bible, guys.
Absolutely.
You gotta get to know our Savior.
That's number one, right?
Number two is spiritual warfare.
If you don't have a concept of this stuff, you're not gonna understand it.
That's why my show is called Spiritual Warfare Friday.
It's devoted to getting to the deep.
Diving to deep.
I could do a whole show.
A whole show, right here.
On this.
The sun being dark and everything else, I could do an entire show on this.
Because there's so much information.
Just in these verses alone, right out.
Look.
I could do a whole show on this because there's so much content.
Amen.
Thank you.
It's amazing.
So verse 47, now when the Satorian saw that what was done, he glorified God, saying, certainly this was a righteous man.
So when the Satorian's there, when the God's standing around there, he witnessed this whole thing.
Three hours of darkness everywhere.
And Jesus cried out to heaven, and he was done, you know, taken.
And as Satorian came to revelation, wow, this is, this is the Son of God.
He was certainly a righteous man.
And all the people that came together to the site, beholding the things that which were done, smote their breasts and returned.
So they're like, you know, a lot of people realize, oh wow, we just condemned and we put the Savior to death.
Because of what they witnessed.
And mind you too, the ground shakes.
So, I think Matthew describes a little bit better this comment when Jesus passes.
The ground shakes, it trembles when Jesus passes.
The entire place, it's like midnight in the middle of the day, right?
It's like midnight at this hour.
The whole, when he passes, the ground shakes and everything else.
Causes like an earthquake type thing, right?
It's like everybody there witnessing, the Satorian, the people, like, wow, this is, we made a mistake.
And of all his acquaintances, which are the people there supporting Jesus, and the woman that followed him from Galilee, stood there far off beholding these things.
Because they had to stand at a distance to watch this, because they were afraid that, you know, people will, yeah, mock and spit on Jesus would go after them.
And behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counselor, and he was a good man and just.
And the same that had not consented to the counsel of the deed of them.
So, he was one of the people in the council that did not consent to him being killed.
He was a Rampanthea, a city of the Jews, who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.
So this man went into Pilate and begged for the body of Jesus.
Because they were... God knows what they would have done with it.
They probably just threw his body into a hole or something like that or let him sit there and rot off the cross or something.
So, and he took it down and wrapped it in linen and laid it into a sepulchre, which was honed of stone.
So, there was a tomb made of stone.
Wherein never been before was laid.
So, it was a big kind, it was like almost like a cave type thing with a large stone as a doorway.
It was made into a tomb.
So, they laid the body, his body in the tomb.
And that the day was preparation and a Sabbath drew on.
And the woman also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after and beheld Deceptica, which was by his late.
So this was the prep day, which was a Friday. - Yeah.
Now there's a lot of issues here like if he was crucified literally on a Friday or was it a Wednesday because he says three days three nights.
So Friday night to Friday afternoon to Sunday morning what you want to expect is right right before the sun rose for Sunday so technically Saturday because remember the sunrise the sun sets the day I think that's how it goes I don't want to butcher that but there's a lot of dispute if it was a Wednesday or a Friday.
So, if this says here, they took his body in the preparation day, right?
So, if he was crucified on Wednesday night, right?
He died Wednesday.
They probably, you know, go into the evening or something.
About three o'clock, I think they said, that's when it was, whatever the case.
But, you know, if you did the math, three days, three nights, it's into the Sabbath.
You know, but regardless, he was dead.
So, what I'm thinking is like, if he was crucified on Wednesday, He died on Wednesday, right?
And their body stood there for a couple of days.
That would make sense.
Like by the time Joseph pleaded for the body of Jesus, right?
The body was probably already stuck on that cross for a couple of days.
Because I'm sure when they died on the cross, they didn't just take him off right away.
They let him sit there for a couple of days to make sure they were dead.
That's what I'm assuming, that's what I think it is.
Because that would make sense.
Because there's a lot of confusion with this.
So in the prep days, Friday.
Sabbath to Saturday.
So what we're seeing here, because a lot of people say, well he was crucified on a Friday, right?
The modern day churches, but a lot of people didn't believe that back then.
They thought it was a Wednesday and a High Sabbath.
Because actually, you know what?
And it is true.
It's confirmed, I'm sorry.
Because Matthew explains this in detail.
Matthew says he was crucified on a High Sabbath of that week.
There's a High Sabbath and a regular Sabbath, right?
The High Sabbath was a Wednesday.
A lot of scholars have proved the High Sabbath that year and day time was Wednesday.
And Jesus says, what?
Three days and three nights like Jonas and the Whale.
That's 72 hours.
So do the math.
They said about 3 o'clock.
He passed on, right?
So for three, you know, Wednesday to Thursday, right?
That's 24 hours.
Thursday to Friday, which is 48 hours of Friday to Saturday, which is 72 hours.
And then here's the thing, right?
Now people say, well, they went and opened the tube Sunday morning.
Yeah.
But the thing is, Jesus, there's no data to say He rose Sunday morning.
Because remember, we're gonna get into this, okay?
The account when Mary Magdalene, right, she went to the tomb, right?
Early Sunday morning before the sun was up, right?
And it said it was the eve of Sunday.
It didn't say it was Sunday.
The eve of Sunday.
The first eve of the first day, right?
So when she went there, right, she didn't see His body resurrect.
She's seen an angel there and his body's gone.
The angel told her that he's already been gone.
He's not here, he left.
So when she was there, she didn't see Jesus' body.
She didn't see it disappear or anything like that.
She's seen an angel there.
An angel said he already left.
Indicating that he already left earlier.
So that would indicate he rose in the Sabbath.
So that's where the little confusion comes in, yeah?
because of preparation day so what's going on and i really think this is a settled case here because you know i could be wrong guys or whatever the case but you know what i'll put it in the comment section if you um got any uh questions comments of you know you want to add to this but um i think he was on the cross for a couple days because again they want to make sure you're completely dead They don't have things to measure, you know, mark your heartbeat, whatever the case.
I think, and to make an example, people do.
So I think when they crucified people, I gotta look into this more.
When they crucified people, when they died, they left them there for a few days.
So you had this, you know, for three hours, the sky, it was complete darkness, right?
Jesus came up as a ghost, there was a loud shaking of the earth, right?
Startle everybody.
And by the time Jesus, I'm sorry, Joseph, counseled for his body, right?
Now I think Jesus was on the cross for a couple of days.
You know, dead on the cross, right?
And that's why they let him in the tomb.
By the time they got him into, this is where the confusion comes in, right?
They had said he was in a tomb for three days, right?
No, I think he's literally in the tomb for like a day, a little over a day.
Because by the time they got him, right?
So, they had to do this quick before the Sabbath preparation because Friday, right?
Here's the thing, right?
Friday is prep day.
So basically when the sun goes down Friday night, that's when the Jews prep for the Sabbath.
I'm sorry, they have to get everything done before the sunset.
Cause you're not supposed to cook or anything on the Sabbath.
So what they do is they prep all day long for the, you know, just for the Sabbath.
So they don't have to cook nothing, whatever the case.
And Sunday night, I'm sorry, Friday night, when the sun goes down to Saturday, when the sun goes down is the Sabbath.
This is making sense to y'all, right?
So again, There's a scene right here, right?
Where am I?
So at the day of preparation in the Sabbath run.
So he was laid in the tomb on the... right before prep.
On preparation, I'm sorry.
Right before the Sabbath.
So they rushed to get him in that tomb before the sun went down.
So this would explain a lot of confusion.
Yeah, I gotta do a show on this.
That would explain a lot of confusion.
So, Jesus was on that cross for a couple days.
And by the time they got the body down and all that stuff, they put him in the tomb.
He was there for like, as we see here, right?
Preparation.
Prep day.
So, right before sunset Friday, they put him in the tomb.
And the Sabbath drew on.
And now here's the thing, right?
The reason why Mary didn't go to the tomb on Saturday, because it was Sabbath, right?
That's why she waited until early Sunday morning, like right before the sun came up, the eve of the Sunday, right?
To go to the tomb.
But the thing is, it didn't matter if she went Sunday or Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, right?
Or Friday.
Because he was already gone.
Because the angel said that.
The angel says, we're going to get to that, I think it covers the next chapter or whatever it is.
But in Matthew, in Mark and Luke, right?
I mean Mark, I'm sorry, in Matthew, you learn that.
When she got there, the tomb was already empty.
He was already gone.
It's not like he resurrected, died, no.
He was already gone, the angel told her that.
So, and a woman also, which came with men from Galilee, followed after and beheld their sceptical, and how his body was laid.
And they returned and prepared spices and ointments and rested on... Yeah, right there.
Right there.
That confirms what I was thinking there.
I'm saying.
They returned and prepared spices and ointments and rested the Sabbath day according to the commandment.
Which is the fourth commandment.
That dispensation will say that they're abolished.
They went.
The apostles took place that.
So anyway, right there it confirms what I'm saying, right?
So let me wrap this up here.
So as we got to understand, right, the crucifixion.
This would confirm exactly, because the scholars believe, because Matthew says he was crucified on the High Sabbath.
Which was a Wednesday that year.
Of that week there.
The Passover week and everything, right?
Coming up.
No, the Passover, whatever the case might be, right?
And so...
Jesus was crucified, right?
And the body was laying on the cross for a couple days to make sure he was completely dead.
And by the time Joseph begged for the body, he had to take counsel to get the body of Jesus, right?
So when he took the body down, the body had been up there for a couple days at least.
So Jesus was crucified on Wednesday, right?
And by the time they got the body down, it was already Friday.
It was early Friday.
And they let it into the septic on and all that.
So this is being done on preparation day, Friday.
That's a confirmation of that, right?
As the Sabbath draws on.
So this, in other words, Friday night when the sun sets, it becomes the Sabbath, right?
So Friday, Saturday, Sunday, right?
So they were doing this quick.
This was getting late.
They laid the body in there and they were getting this ready, you know, into the tomb, right?
And at the same time when Joseph was bringing the bodies to the tomb, right, the women were also preparing the ointments.
The spices and ointments, right?
And then they did the spices and ointments, and then, like, literally, like, probably minutes, whatever the case is, or whatever.
They did all this, okay?
As Joseph was getting him in the tomb, right, the woman put the spices and ointments on him.
Then they rested on the Sabbath day, according to the commandment.
So, rested, which was a Friday night at sunset.
So this confirms that right there, guys.
So, as Jesus says, three days and three nights in the belly of the earth.
As Jonas was in the belly of the whale.
This confirms exactly what we were saying.
I gotta do a good study on this.
I mean, I know we just passed... No, Easter's coming up.
So I think that'll be a good show right there.
Yeah, this is amazing stuff.
So we're gonna do a show on that, guys, on the spiritual warfare.
Me and Brian.
Spiritual Warfare Friday.
So I'm going to take a note of that.
But yeah, this is amazing.
Yeah.
See how much content is in here?
I'm like lost for words.
See how much content is in here?
Now we spent, what, 15 minutes?
So we're going on an hour, right?
Discussing this.
Now most of us can read 56 verses in, what, four or five minutes?
and you get nothing out of it.
And somebody could brag, oh I can read it too, man.
Oh, oh, oh.
Well, you don't get nothing out of that.
That's what academia does and all that.
And you know, they don't really study as much.
And some, yeah, when you become a Bible scholar, you're supposed to study it in depth like this.
But when you go on an academia level, you're not getting the spiritual aspects of this.
The spiritual application.
Academia can't give you spiritual applications.
Only the Holy Spirit can.
And I'm not bashing anybody who's a Bible scholar or anything like that, but, you know, you can't learn the stuff in the college like this.
The spiritual applications cannot be taught in colleges, universities, churches, or by a religious leader or anything of the sort.
It has to be taught by the Holy Spirit.
Charles Spurgeon even said that.
He was one of the greatest preachers in the modern day.
He said the same thing.
Because he got, um, you know, downed by a lot of scholars and everything.
He goes, oh, you're not educated.
You don't have the degrees and all that.
And he goes, oh, yeah, well, I don't need it.
All I have is the Holy Spirit.
So, yeah.
All right, guys.
So, yeah, awesome chapter.
And I thank you all for doing that.
I just want to keep this under an hour.
Yeah, so we're going to get to the last chapter coming up.
And I can't wait for that.
Yeah, chapter 24.
I can't believe we're through this already.
I just, you know, felt like I just started this a couple weeks ago, but one more chapter, chapter 24, and we're on to the book of John.
So, you know, trust the plan, the only plan is the Bible.
Don't take my word or anybody else's word for this.
Read it for yourselves, please.
