- If you're receiving this transmission, you are the resistance.
Declaring war on the New World Order.
truth radio show dot com shalom and welcome to the damn podine show on truth radio show dot com So we've got this comprehensive study of the book of Luke, and we are now on to chapter 19.
We're whizzing through this book, and I'm very excited to get to the book of John.
It's gonna be pretty cool.
So anyway, chapter 19 of the book of Luke, and if you've got a Bible, please open it up.
But before we do that, before we get to the Bible, We'd like to do a specific Bible study approach.
And number one is pray for wisdom and understanding.
So let's do that right now.
So we come to you, Yeshua Messiah, Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
We pray to you and ask you to forgive us of all our individual sins and trespasses.
We ask you to make us pure before the Father.
Father, we ask you before your throne that you could comfort everybody here that's going through any kind of ailments or any pain or sorrow, physically, spiritually, emotionally, mentally, or anything of the sort.
We ask you to comfort them and heal them, Lord.
And we ask you to pour your precious blood, Jesus, Yeshua, upon us and to protect us against any and all evil.
And Father, we ask you to give us the Holy Spirit, The divine teacher to write the word of God upon your heart.
Write your word upon our heart.
And today, Luke chapter 19.
In your precious name, Amen.
So, now we've done that, and we read the Scripture in context.
We don't just read through the Scripture if you're looking for somebody to read through the Scripture.
There's plenty of other places that read ten times better than me.
You know, more elegant, but we don't do that here.
We read through the Scripture, absolutely, but we read the Scripture.
You know, really study it, examine it.
It's not going to be a two or three minute video.
For each chapter.
This is a very comprehensive, in-depth study.
And we read the scripture in context.
Because context is key.
Unfortunately, a lot of religions and churches fail to give you the scripture in context.
And the Bible is not meant to be read speed through.
It's not meant to be learned by an academia level.
It's meant to be learned on a spiritual level.
And let the scripture interpret scripture.
Let the Holy Spirit work through you.
So that being said, let's get to chapter 19 of the book of Luke.
And if you've got a Bible, please open it up.
And if you're watching on the video edition here, it's right up on the screen.
We use the King James Bible.
But if you're watching on ShakerWakeRadio.com, which is one of our sponsors for the show, ShakerWakeRadio.com.
So please open up your own Bible because it's an audio edition.
Let's begin, so... And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
So now Jesus is going to Jericho, and we left off chapter 19, as you can see.
Uh, 18, I'm sorry.
And if you missed the chapters 1 through 18, guys, it's in the playlist.
So, just a quick oversight of what happened in chapter 18.
So, Jesus going around doing his thing, and, you know, healing people and everything else.
And giving these awesome, amazing parables.
So now he's entered and passed through Jericho, the city, and behold, there was a man named Zacharias, which was a chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
So you got this rich guy, he was a chief of the publicans, and as it says here.
So, and he sought to see Jesus, who he was, and could not for the press, because he was a little of stature.
So he ran before, and he climbed up into the sycamore tree to see him, for he was to pass away.
So, basically, this guy went to go see Jesus, but because of the press, which means because of the mass of people that were around Jesus, you know, as he's walking, he's healing people, and there's people coming up from left to right.
So to see Jesus, Zacharias, I hope I didn't butcher his name here, Zacharias here, He had to jump up on a sycamore tree to see him.
For him to pass through, you know, that way.
So when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him and said to him, Zacharias, make haste and come down, for today I must abide in thy house.
So he's up, Zacharias is a rich man, he's the leader and everything, right?
He's up in the sycamore tree just trying to see Jesus because there's so many people.
So Jesus passes by the tree and says, Hey, come off that tree.
Hey, listen, I need a place to stay for the night.
And he made haste and came down and received him joyfully.
And when he saw that, they all murmured and said that he was going to be a guest with a man that is a sinner.
Some people say, you know, they'll murmur at each other, which is like whispering, talking, whatever the case, that Jesus is going to be a guest?
To a, you know, for a man that's a sinner?
Zechariah said?
And Zechariah stood and said upon the Lord, Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor.
And if I have received, taken anything from any man by false accusations, I restore him fourfold.
So this guy is willing to sell things just to follow him.
Remember one of the rich guys that Jesus, beforehand, I was like many chapters back I believe, that he asked him, how could I be a follower of you?
And Jesus told him, you need to go sell your belongings.
Because he had a lot of stuff, you know what I mean?
Sell all your stuff and give the money to the poor.
And the guy refused to do that.
He acknowledged that, yeah, I keep the commandments, I do this, that, and the other thing.
But Jesus says, alright, go sell all your stuff and give it to the poor.
And he refused to do that.
Because he had all the stuff and he didn't want to have to depart from it.
But you got this guy here, a rich guy.
He says, Lord behold, half of my goods I give to the poor.
So he's just willing to depart to help the poor, right?
And I have taken anything from any man, I'm sorry, by false accusation, I restore him tenfold.
So he's saying if I, you know, messed anybody over, I'll restore it to him, I'll give back to him fourfold.
So Jesus said to him, this day is salvation coming to this house.
For so much as he is also the son of Abraham.
And for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.
And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, near Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
And again, if you're new to this show here, this program, I should say, if you're new to this, the reason why Jesus speaks in parables, because he will say something, right?
Something that is very important.
Now for clarification, for edification, he'll say a parable or two, maybe three.
So basically, so you could not possibly misunderstand him.
So if Jesus says something you don't understand, right?
Just hold on.
he'll speak a parable, and if you still don't understand, he'll give another parable.
So there's a parable here, and he said, Therefore, a certain nobleman will Went to a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
And he called his ten servants and delivered them ten pounds, and he said unto them, Occupy till I come back.
In other words, I'm going to take a trip to this far kingdom, and you guys watch my place.
I gave ten pounds and said unto them, Occupy this place until I come back, right?
But his citizens hated him.
And sent a message after him saying, we will not have this man to reign over us.
And it came to pass when he was returned, having received a kingdom, that he commended that these servants should be called unto him to whom he had given the money to, that he might know how much every man had gained by trade.
So it's kind of like the parable of the talents.
The one with one didn't do nothing, just buried it until he got back and gave it to his master.
And the other one's invested in it with the money and gained much more.
And the guy with the one parable that buried it, he like really said, yeah.
Yeah, not a faithful servant, that's for sure.
And the other one's a well done good and faithful servant.
If you remember the parable of the talents, you'll understand what's going on here too.
And then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
So this is like very similar to the parable of Talos.
So in the parable, he had a rich man.
He went to another kingdom.
And he told his guys like, all right, occupy here until I come back.
So here's 10 pounds, which was like $10, whatever the case, right?
And then he gave it to them.
And it's occupied till I come back.
And so basically when he was gone and he returned, uh, the came the first, the first, they're saying, Lord, the 10 pounds, I gained 10 pounds.
So by entrusting this guy with 10 pounds, he, whatever he did with it, um, invested in whatever the case, he gained another 10 pounds.
So he returned.
Now he has 20 pounds and he said to him, well, Well done good and faithful servant.
So I'm going to give you authority over 10 cities because remember this guy rules a nation.
little, have the authority over 10 cities.
So because he was entrusted with 10 pounds and he gained 10 more for his master, right?
So the master turned and said, well done, good and faithful servant.
So I'm going to give you authority over 10 cities because remember, this guy rules a nation.
So he gave the authority over 10 cities to this guy.
So the second guy came saying, Lord, the pound has gained five pounds.
So he took a pound and gained five.
So total six, right?
Invested it and got some extra, right?
And he said, likewise to him, you know, well done, good and faithful servant.
And he goes, be thou also over five cities.
So the guy, he invested 10 pounds and right there, I mean, I'm sorry, gained 10 more pounds.
He's like, all right, here's 10 cities.
You are in charge of this 10 cities, right?
And this guy here that took it, would have invested whatever he did with it, right?
Gained five more pounds, which is like a dollar or whatever.
I don't know if that's money, whatever the case is about.
And so he goes, for your reward, I'm going to give you rule over five cities.
And another came saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in the napkin.
So this guy here that only had one pound, right?
Just decided that I'm going to put it in the napkin and put it away until he gets back.
Didn't do nothing with it.
Whatever the case, right?
And the master says, for I feared thee.
Because thou art Austrian man.
Thou take it up, and thou hast laid it not down.
And reaped it thy thirst is not so.
And he said unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant!
Thou knowest that I was an ostrous man, taking up that I lay not down, and reaping that I did not sow.
So in other words, the useless servant didn't do nothing, he just put it, you know, hid it away.
Then go out and try to make it, you know, invest it, whatever the case, to do better.
So this could go many ways, okay?
This could go into money, or talents, whatever the case, like the parable of the talents.
It could go many ways.
So basically, if God gives you a gift, right, to do something, you use that gift, and you gain two more talents.
So just say your talent is like, I don't know, speaking in front of people.
So you go out and speak in front of people, now all of a sudden you learn how to, what you say, sing, right?
And you learn how to become a webmaster to make websites, right?
To do his bidding.
So now you've gained two more talents.
So your valuability went sky high.
Same thing in the military.
If you want to be in the military, right?
Just say you want to be a military police officer.
In your training and everything else, you become an airborne.
You become a reconnaissance officer.
So now your values in the military has gone, you know, three-fold.
So if you want to take it that way too, you know.
I'm just trying to get this visualized in your head, what he's talking about.
So wherefore, then gavest not thou money into the bank, in that my coming I might have required mine on surrey.
And he said unto them that stood by, take from him that pound, and give it to him that has ten pounds.
So, this is very similar to the Powerball of Talents.
So the guy with the one talent, I'm sorry, the pound, I'm sorry, that just put in the napkin, right?
So, he goes, you know what?
Give me that pound back.
And he, the guy who had ten pounds, gave it to him.
And they said unto him, Lord, he has ten pounds.
And for I say to you, Jesus says, right?
For I say to you, that unto everyone that has shall be given.
And from him that has not, even that he has, shall be taken away from him.
So what does that mean?
It was just the scene with that man.
The one with the 10 pounds invested in it and gained 10 more.
As you can see, the one who had shall be given...
So, the one who had and produced, right?
The ten pounds, and ten more pounds, and now he was given rule over ten cities.
And also given the extra power to use.
But those mine enemies, which do not, I should reign over them, and bring hither, and slay them before me.
And when he had just spoken, he went before ascending to Jerusalem.
So after Jesus got done speaking, he left and ascended into Jerusalem.
And it came to pass, when he had come nigh to Bethpage and Bethany, at the mount called Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples.
Saying, so here we go.
I guess he comes to meeting Bethpage and Bethlehem at the Mount of Olives.
So he sent two of his disciples saying, Go ye into the village over against you.
So, in other words, the village next to us, right?
Go into that village.
Into which you are entering, you shall find a colt tied, wherein you met a man sat.
Loose him and bring him here.
So he said, go into that village.
And you find a colt that's tied up and a man sitting there.
Go there and untie the colt there, which is a... it's like a horse.
And bring it over to here.
And if any man asks you, why did you lose him?
You know, like, untie him.
Just say unto them, because the Lord has need of him.
And they went I'm sorry, and they were sent their way and they found even as he had said to them.
So basically they went to that village nearby, right?
They found the cult and... And then as they were loosening the cult, the owner of therefore said to them, why are you loosening the cult?
So the owner seen them saying, oh, what are you guys doing?
Why are you unloosening my cult?
And they said to him, the Lord has need of him.
And they brought him to Jesus, and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.
So Jesus needs something to write on.
So as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.
And when he was come nigh, even now the descendants of the Mount, I'm sorry, when he come nigh, even now at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen.
So, you see, a multitude, a whole multitude of disciples.
Now you gotta remember, right, you have the twelve apostles.
Now, if you also remember, there were 70 people, more, 70 more people that Jesus gave authority to, to go spread the gospel and heal people and everything else, right?
To get the gospel spread out well.
So, that's what the multitude of disciples is.
And there's probably more at this point, that with so many people just following Jesus everywhere he went.
And then the apostles were like the heads, like to direct everybody.
But people just left the rites like, alright, I'm gonna follow you now.
So they left everything behind and followed Jesus.
So it wasn't just the twelve apostles.
They were going around making disciples everywhere.
So everywhere he's going he's traveling around with a multitude of people.
So saying, blessed be the king that comes in the name of the Lord.
Peace in heaven and glory in the highest.
And some of the Pharisees among them and the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
In other words, tell them no.
Rebuke them.
Then Jesus answered unto them and says, I tell you that if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately crack up.
So what does that mean?
So we're going to find out.
And when he was come near, he beheld the city and wept over it.
It's saying, if thou hast known, even thou, at least in the day, the things that which belong unto thy peace, but now they are hid from your eyes.
For the day shall come upon thee, and thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass around thee, and keep thee on every side.
And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee, they shall not leave in one stone upon another, though thou hast noticed that not time is in thy visitation.
She's talking about the temple.
So this is written a little bit different, because remember too, right?
This is a very, actually the same thing as when he talked about Matthew and Mark, right?
You gotta remember too, Matthew, Mark, and Luke, because we're in John as well, right?
They are writing the same thing that they've seen Jesus do, but in their own handwriting.
So I have to emphasize this every so often.
So people say, well, it's a contradiction or whatever.
It's because it's written.
It's not a contradiction.
They're all seeing the same thing, but they're writing it in their own way.
In other words, if all four, you know, there's four of us, right?
If we've seen a car accident, right?
The police would want our statements and what we witnessed.
We're all going to say the same thing, but in different ways.
And some will be clearer, like Matthew, it's very much clearer than the book of Luke, yeah?
And it gives a little bit more details.
Luke is just like, you know, it gives what happened, and in some cases it gives greater details too, but that's what's going on.
So there's Jesus telling him, yeah, about the temple.
And he went into the temple and began to cast out them the soul therein, and them that book.
So this is when Jesus went into the temple, right?
And he told them before, you know, when he came down from Mount Olives, there's not going to be one stone left unturned.
This temple is going to be destroyed.
And as you can see later on, okay, if you've been with me, Matthew and Mark, it really upset the Jews when they found that out, like threatening to destroy the temple.
But Jesus went into the temple, and this is where they were selling things in the temple.
They were gambling, doing all kinds of things in the temple.
They turned it into a market.
So Jesus went in, and he like literally opened up a can of whoop-butt, you know?
He opened up a can of smackdown there.
And he said to them, it is written, That my house is the house of prayer, but you have made it into a den of thieves.
So this is when Jesus went in there tipping tables, whipping people.
He was one in there righteously angered.
And there's a difference between angered and righteously angered.
Jesus went in there righteously angered, because this is the house of God that they are defiling, right?
Turned into a den of thieves, people ripping people off.
He turned it into a marketplace.
So Jesus went in there and tore the place up.
And he taught daily in the temple, but the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him. - No.
Because here's the thing, right?
These Jewish priests and all that stuff, right?
They weren't living.
According to the law.
They claim to be, right?
But they were hypocrites, as Jesus proved over and over again, right?
Because they're trying to accuse Jesus of this, that, and the other thing, right?
And Jesus is giving right back to them.
Well, you're accusing me of doing this and that, but you guys are breaking the commandments.
You guys are doing this and that.
Self-righteous people know that, and you know, they take advantage of it.
And that's why the temple is going to be destroyed, you know, coming up soon.
And it was destroyed afterwards.
as Jesus prophesied.
So they were out to destroy him.
They were looking for any little reason.
The only reason why, they'd just go grab Jesus.
Throw him on trial.
Convict him and all that stuff right away because they needed a reason.
Because they know if they would have grabbed Jesus and done anything to harm him, the multitudes that would follow Jesus would have overthrown him.
And they were scared of the people.
So yeah.
So they were looking for any little reason to destroy him.
And they could not find what they might do.
For all the people were very attentive to hear him.
So people like they're always out to hear him.
Like you know.
Asking for healing.
This that and the other thing.
So the temple priest.
They're looking for any.
They're conspiring.
How do we get this guy convicted?
And as you know, it goes on in the chapters that you see Matthew and Mark.
They do everything possible, even when they do convict him, they have no nothing on him to do that.
So right now, where we are in the book of Luke, right?
This is leading up to the conviction of Jesus Christ.
And the crucifixion.
That's what's going on.
And so basically, every time Jesus does something, It's taking attention away from the Jewish priests and all that, which is ticking them off.
Because the Jewish priests, they walk around and everywhere they go, they go to the marketplace or what would be a restaurant or whatever the case, they get the best service, the VIP service and everything else.
Everywhere they go, they get praises because they're Jewish priests and all that, and the elders and all that.
But Jesus, walking around teaching people, He's getting multitudes, He's like a rock star walking down the street.
And it's really rubbing the Jewish priests the wrong way.
Now, the Jewish priests and the scribes and all that, they're out there purposely to try to goad Jesus into saying something wrong or, you know, for blasphemy and everything else, right?
But every single time, as we witness, Jesus is constantly doing it right back in their face.
Like, whoa, hold on.
You did this and that.
And, you know, putting them on the spot.
And they have nothing to say after that.
He shuts them right up every single time.
And so they couldn't find what they could do, you know.
So the people were very attentive to hear him.
You know, everywhere he went, people wanted to hear him, what he had to say.
Jesus was so full of wisdom.
And again, the parables are very important.
Now the thing is, too, guys, you don't understand this, and I have to bring this up a lot, because it's unfortunate.
And there's a real difference between being religious and biblical.
Religious dogma, what they'll do is they'll give you a verse that Jesus said, right?
Then they'll quote to another part of the Bible to show you what it means, right?
Then most of the time it's not what it means.
They put their own interpretation to it, right?
But if you actually go on, read the context.
Context is key.
So basically, if you don't know what this means, right?
Why would you go to any other chapter or book in the Bible?
That's what they do.
They'll string together a boatload of verses that sound like stuff they want you to believe, right?
But what you have to do is simple.
Don't do any of that.
Don't frog hop all over the Bible.
If you don't understand what this means, for example, right?
Just keep reading the context.
That's the paragraph of the chapter.
It could be more.
That's, you know, the whole subject of what they're talking about.
Read it all!
So if Jesus says something, read the parables that follow it.
And you cannot possibly misunderstand it.
Because the thing is, if they say, alright, alright, Jesus said this, right?
And they don't show you the parables?
Or, right here, Jesus told them, today's the salvation to come into this house, right?
For so much, there's also the son of Abraham, right?
And for the Son of Man seeks to save which was lost.
So the churches would like, get this verse and this verse, probably, maybe.
Usually it's only one verse or two, that's it.
But, to explain what he's talking about, right?
See where it says he added to speak in the parable?
They won't do that!
So if you want to know what this means, 9 to 10, he gives you the interpretation.
Right here in the parable, which goes from 11 to Verse 28 or whatever, right?
And we just did that, to learn what he's talking about.
Now, the churches, they'll just say, alright, we'll get this, right?
So now, we're gonna dig something up in the Bible, somewhere, somewhere along.
They're geniuses at doing this.
And I'm not commending them at all, at all.
So, what they'll do is they'll go, we're gonna tell them what this means.
Instead of telling them, just read the rest in context, so you can understand what he's talking about.
That's why he talked in the parable, right?
They'll go to some other chapter that may sound something like this, and what they could do is they string you off onto another, down another rabbit hole.
To make you think, alright, well, you know, they could say, alright, this is where Jesus means that you need to sell everything you have and give the money to the church.
You know what I mean?
For example, there's no such thing.
I'm just giving you a warning, guys, of what these churches do.
Every religion, every religion is guilty of that.
Instead of sitting there, all right, what does this mean?
Well, guess what?
You don't need Dan Bedanyi's interpretation.
You don't need Pat Robinson, Billy Graham, or whatever, you know, whoever's out there.
You don't need the Pope's, you don't need any ministries, or churches, or college, or academia, or whatever.
You don't need that to find out what this means.
Simple.
Yeah, I just, well, yeah, keep reading.
Context is key.
And that's why a lot of people can't understand the Bible.
And I know and understand too, though, of the King James Version.
Yeah, it's, you know, the old English.
Sometimes it is tough to read.
I admit that.
All the years I've read this, it is tough to read sometimes.
But if you actually slow down, take your time.
The Bible's not meant to be speed through, read through.
And this is the difference between, you know, these Bible scholars out there, that academia is smart.
You don't learn the Bible through academia, guys.
You gotta learn it spiritually.
Take your time.
Slow down.
It's not a race.
And somebody goes, Oh, I read the entire chapter in about 20 minutes.
Well, whoop-dee-doo, good for you.
You didn't learn nothing.
And I'll tell them to their face.
You didn't learn nothing by doing that.
If we just read through this chapter today, right?
This chapter has, well, 48 verses.
How long would it take to read through that, if we just read through it?
Maybe a few, three, four minutes, maybe five, not even.
But what would he have, what would have we learned?
Nothing.
Now, the way we did, we learned with the details, what he was talking about, we absorbed the information.
That's why I'm only doing a chapter at a time.
Because people say, well, why does it take you so long to read that?
You know, you go through a half hour, 45 minutes to read one chapter.
I can read that in two minutes.
Yeah, you know, anybody can.
But you gotta understand, we need to understand the context.
Because again, you can speed read through this, no problem.
But you have not learned a darn thing, if you did that.
Even when we're done with this video here, I want people to go re-read this chapter.
Take your time.
And if you don't know what a word means, you can Google it.
And when you know the meaning of a word, it makes a big difference.
A big difference.
So, you know, this is why I'm just trying to get out here, the message here.
So people can understand what's going on, what we're talking about and all that.
So you understand the Bible.
I don't consider myself a teacher or a scholar or anything like that.
I'm just a servant of Jesus Christ.
That's it.
Honest in the Holy Spirit to hopefully lead me to get through this.
So you guys can understand us, and it's not to mace the Holy Spirit.
And also guys, if you think I missed something, or whatever the case, you got any questions, comments, concerns, put it in the comment section.
And I'll get back to you.
You know what I mean?
We can talk about it.
Just say, alright, if you went to rest three, then you missed this and that.
The meaning of this.
Yeah, put it in the comment section.
we encourage you to do that so thank you guys for tuning in this uh we We'll see you for chapter 20.
So remember, trust in the plan, the only plan that's the Bible.
And don't take my word or anybody else's word for this.
Nobody.
Read it for yourself.
Challenge me.
Challenge your church leaders.
There's nothing wrong with challenging people.
If you think something's wrong or you can't understand them, challenge them.
You're supposed to challenge every spirit, that's what the Bible says.
Challenge every spirit to see if they're God.
I don't care how holy they sound, or look, whatever the case, you challenge them.
I want you to challenge me too.
Challenge every spirit.
So don't take anybody else's word for it, just read it for yourselves.
