Bush so thoroughly in New Hampshire.

Who would have ever believed that American voters would vote for a man who failed in his mission, was shot down.

Since when do military personnel who get captured get rewarded for that?
Not only captured, but rolled over.
I was in the Office of Naval Intelligence, folks.
I know what happened to the prisoners of war.
I helped to brief the Commander-in-Chief of the Pacific Fleet on the intelligence we had about our prisoners in North Vietnam.
John McCain rolled over.
He traded the best premium Top care that the North Vietnamese could give him medical care or information which he gave to the North Vietnamese and his communist Chinese interrogators.
This is fact.
He signed confessions.
This is fact.
He appeared on television and accused the United States of America and the United States Navy in particular of terrible war crimes.
John McCain did this.
For which he was awarded the silver star, five bronze stars, and a whole bunch of other medals, all of which were earned during the period he was a prisoner of war.
Don't believe me?
Look it up.
Write John McCain and ask him to send you a list of the actual citations as they read and the period of time in which they were presented to him.
You'll find that he received all of them, every single one of them, as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam while he was rolling over, confessing, signing confessions, appearing on television, accusing the United States and the United States Navy of war crimes.
Traded information for medical care, medical care which no other prisoner of war ever received.
I knew John McCain's father.
Admiral John McCain, Jr., who at the time that I served on the intelligence briefing team for the Commander-in-Chief of the Pacific Fleet, served as the Commander-in-Chief of the Pacific in Hawaii.
I met him.
I knew him.
I liked him.
He was ashamed of his son.
If he were alive today, he would be ashamed of his son.
He would march out there and grab Senator McCain by the ear, turn him over his knee,
and whoop the hell out of him.
To him, the nation came first.

The intelligence that I saw revealed that John McCain cracked.

How many of you know what happens in the brainwashing process?
How many of you know what can be implanted in the human mind to be brought up later in order for that person to accomplish some task unknown to him or her?
How many of you know that if John McCain was successfully brainwashed, he would be the last one to know it?
And after five years of torture and brainwashing, in which he gave in to his chapters, there is no doubt whatsoever that his brainwashing handlers were successful.
Successful.
You want this man to be our president?
If you do, you're even dumber and stupider and more ignorant than I ever dreamed that you could possibly be.

If you've been to our website, I've given you more ammunition than you ever need to put this guy back in the cage.
Now let me tell you something.
We shouldn't hold all this against him, because no one And I'm here to tell you this is the truth.
No one can withstand five years of torture and brainwashing.
I don't care who it is.
So while he may have started off with every honorable intention, and he was subjected to this ordeal against his will, nevertheless it happened.
We cannot blame him that it happened.
And we cannot blame him that he broke down and gave in.
Because they all did.
They won't tell you that.
One of the reasons that all the prisoners of war were taken to another place before they were brought to the United States of America was so that they could be debriefed.
So that we could find out exactly what each and every one of them told their captors And they all told their captors, all of them, every one, no human being can withstand torture over long periods of time.
I don't care who you are.
The military knows this.
In fact, it has caused them to change the code of conduct.
All of the prisoners of war were taken, debriefed, Given physical and mental psychiatric examinations, they were all ordered, they were given direct orders never to tell the truth about what happened to them and about what they revealed to their captors because the American people would not understand and a great percentage of the population would condemn them for being human.
That's the truth about POWs.
Being a POW has nothing to do with something great and heroic and honorable.
It has to do with survival.
And if you survive, you're damn lucky.
Some in the act of survival may be viewed as heroes.
Or heroines, for that matter.
But the truth is, they do what every human being would do under the circumstances.
They just survive.
And thank God that they did.
They're Americans.
And I'm glad that they survived, and I'm glad that they came home.
But they do not belong in the Senate, the House of Representatives, or the White House, or in the State House, or as Governor.
anywhere where the results of their brainwashing could do this state or this nation harm.
You'd better listen to me, folks.
You've got this emotional, romantic idea about POWs.
It ain't so.
It just ain't so.
I think John McCain's quick and vicious temper is a symptom of the mental torture which he endured.
Why was it John McCain that they got to sign confessions and appear before cameras?
Because he was the son of the Commander-in-Chief of all of the United States military forces in the Pacific.
And they would have concentrated on him until he broke down.
there was nothing that he was going to do about it, unless he could manage to kill himself,
which he apparently did not.
He was just a little boy.
Were other prisoners of war paraded before the cameras?
Did other prisoners of war sign confessions?
Yes, they did.
Did they talk?
They all talked.
Every single one of them talked.
All of them, without exception.
Now, if you don't believe me, let me give you a little exercise to perform.
Go out and cut yourself two stalks of bamboo about three inches in diameter.
About three inches in diameter.
And about five feet long.
Two stalks of bamboo.
Three inches in diameter, five feet long.
Take one stalk and put it right behind both knees.
Right behind both knees.
Don't tape it or anything like that.
Just put it behind both knees.
Put the other piece on the floor.
Kneel down with your kneecaps on the piece of bamboo on the floor, and with the other piece of bamboo behind your knees, and lean backward at a 45 degree angle.
This is just one of the tortures that these men endured for hours and hours at a time.
Try it.
Try it at home.
If you can't find bamboo, just get two round pieces of wood about four or five feet long.
Two and a half to three inches in diameter.
Put one on the floor.
Kneel on it.
Put your kneecaps right on it.
Your knees.
Put the other dowel, or whatever you want to call it, behind your knees.
And then lean your body back about 45 degrees.
See how long you can take that torture.
Simple, isn't it?
That's just one.
Just one very mild form of torture.
That 90% of the people in this listening audience would not be able to stand for 10 minutes, much less many hours.
Oh, and by the way, You're naked while this is going on.
If you fall over, you're beaten until you get back into position.

All the time being questioned and indoctrinated at the same time.
You are faced, for a period of time, By an extremely cruel, vicious, unsympathetic and unmerciful person.
And then that person leaves and someone comes in who is very kind and understanding
and offers you maybe one puff on a cigarette.

All the time hearing a different version of what the United States of America represents and what your religion represents.
And what your family is doing while you are undergoing those tortures.

Making a conscious decision And then going and doing it.
Because it must be done.
That's a hero.
You're not a hero if you are taken, captured, and put into a position where you have no choice about anything that you do.
There is nothing heroic about that.
That's called survival if you make it through.
When you have no choice in the matter, you are not a hero.
You are a victim.
That's the difference between heroes and victims, between heroes and POWs.
Now, if somebody risked his life to go into North Vietnam and rescue prisoners of war, that man is the hero.

And those kinds of missions are always made up of volunteers.

Wake them in the morning.
Provide them some form of useful occupation.
Not too difficult, mind you.
Reward them for performing that occupation with some sort of remuneration or reward.
Provide their medical care.
Doctor their wounds.
Put them in the sandbox with the other children.
Lock the gate so that no wild animals can get in.
And that's it.

Station a guard or a monitor to ensure the safety of the children while they play.
That's called socialism.
Take socialism one step farther where the burden of ownership is relieved And you have communism.
For every person, then, everything is owned and governed and protected and provided for by the state.
And the state takes the place of the sovereign human and becomes the most important thing
upon the face of this earth and each individual becomes expendable for the furtherance and

This is about money.

Rush Limbaugh never lied to you, and therefore you cannot fault him.
You fault yourself for not being discerning.
Not listening to him, because he told you what it was all about.
