Here's something that caught my eye in our Hong Kong coverage yesterday.
Protesters waving American flags.
And as you heard at the top of the show, those protesters, some of them, those there, they were singing America's national anthem.
Joining us now is Marion Smith with the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation.
The waving of flags, the singing of our anthem, what does that tell you?
Well, I think the Hong Kong protesters are drawing a distinction that is really at the core of this crisis, and that is there are two systems here that are contradictory.
One is the totalitarian system of the People's Republic of China, where more than a billion people are under the thumb of the Chinese Communist Party, and where there is no freedom, and where if you were to wave an American flag and sing our national anthem, you would be detained or worse.
On the other hand is the United States and our flag and the freedoms that it represents and Hong Kong people have enjoyed those freedoms for generations and have never been ruled by the Communist Party and they're saying they don't want to be ruled by the Communist Party now and that's the essence of the crisis here.
What they want, what the demonstrators want is the resignation of Carrie Lam, Hong Kong's chief
executive, and her replacement to be freely elected with candidates not chosen
by Beijing. That's what they want. That's why they're flying the American flag.
You think that... I mean, what are the odds that they actually get that?
Well, they have a list of five or six demands.
One is the resignation of the Chief Executive Carrie Lam.
The other is the withdrawal of the extradition bill, which really was the catalyst for this protest movement this year, in which some 20% of the population of Hong Kong has taken to the streets.
That is no insignificant fringe group that is protesting.
That really does represent a significant portion, if not the majority, of the Hong Kong people Support for the protesters is even higher than 20 percent, of course.
But they're also calling for the release of the political prisoners, as they're calling them now, who have been arrested as part of this protest movement, which overwhelmingly has been peaceful on the protesters' part.
But we have seen beatings by the police.
We have seen the blinding of at least one person due to short-range shooting of rubber bullets.

And then when China banned a week ago, all US produce, Trump's numbers went up.

When Americans and free people know they're being dominated and assaulted and bullied, and they know that it's artificial and that it's from outside, they will rally and come together every time.

But then he says it's wrong to boycott Israel when the same globalists that want to destroy Israel are the very same group, very same script, trying to overthrow the U.S.
And there's a lot more to it, but his nuanced response To what's going on in Israel, and how things are a two-way street, and how the Islamists aren't reasonable, and they want it all.

We're the ones and our manufacturers to use slave labor.

Donald, you're probably the best known builder, particularly of great buildings in the city.
There's a great deal of question about whether or not the damage and the ultimate destruction of the buildings was caused by the airplanes, by architectural defect, or possibly by bombs or aftershocks.
You know, the World Trade Center was always known as a very, very strong building.
Don't forget, that took a big bomb in the basement.
Now, the basement is the most vulnerable place, because that's your foundation.
And it withstood that.
And I got to see that area.
About three or four days after it took place, because one of my structural engineers actually took me for a tour, because he did the building.
And I said, I can't believe it.
The building was standing solid, and half of the columns were blown out.
I mean, so this was an unbelievably powerful building.
If you know anything about structure, it was one of the first buildings that was built from the outside.
The steel, the reason the World Trade Center had such narrow windows, is that in between all the windows, you had the steel on the outside.
So you had the steel on the outside of the building.
That's why when I first looked, and you had big, heavy I-beams.
When I first looked at it, I couldn't believe it because there was a hole in the steel.
And this is steel that was, you remember the width of the windows of the World Trade Center, folks?
I think, you know, if you were ever up there, they were quite narrow.
And in between was this heavy steel.
I said, how could a plane, even a plane, even a 767 or a 747, or whatever it might have been, how could it possibly go through the steel?
I happen to think that they had not only a plane, but they had bombs that exploded almost simultaneously, because I just can't imagine anything being able to go through that wall.
Most buildings are built with the steelers on the inside around the elevator shaft.
This one was built from the outside, which is the strongest structure you can have.
And it was almost just like a can of soup.

You know, Donald, we were looking at pictures all morning long of that plane coming into building number two, and when you see that approach the far side, and then all of a sudden, within a matter of a millisecond, the explosion pops out the other side.
I just think that there was a plane with more than just fuel.
I think, obviously, they were very big planes, they were going very rapidly, because I was also watching where the plane seemed to be not only going fast, it seemed to be coming down into the building.
So it was getting the speed from going downhill, so to speak.
It just seemed to me that to do that kind of destruction is even more than a big plane, because you're talking about taking out steel, the heaviest caliber steel that was used on a building.
I mean, these buildings were rock solid.
And, you know, it's just an amazing, it's an amazing thing.

Price controls don't make sense just on their own.
But lowering taxes without price controls also doesn't make any sense.
When you lower taxes, people have more money in their pocket.
So with that money, companies decide, oh, well, listen, we'll just raise the prices.
We'll take the money right out of their pockets and put it in ours.
If you look at the GasBuddy website for the last 48 months, you will see that prices of gasoline went from $1.69, 59 cents, actually 59, to $2.97 in 2018 on average.
And now in New York State, about $2.78 or so.
