So this makes no sense at all for Alex. He absolutely does not support unions. He resents collective bargaining. And he's supposed to think that the idea that workers inherently deserve to make a living wage is communist bullshit. I mostly agree with what he's saying in that I think the workers deserve better wages and treatment, but there's no way that Alex actually believes this. He just recognizes that this is a potentially damaging thing for Harris, and he's playing embarrassing levels of team sports, invalidating the general sense of his own principles.
