But that clip is actually a really critical point to distinguish Kalen from the rest of the extreme right wing that he was hanging around with. His right-wing existence is not philosophical. It's not rooted in the same traditions as his extreme right-wing peers who are deeply anti-communist, and they would view the left of the 60s and 70s as one of the greatest existential threats that the West has ever seen. If Kalen was rooted in the more entrenched school of the right wing, he would view things like integration, voting rights, and LGBTQ protections as things that were pushed by communists in order to divide and conquer society. It doesn't seem to me, from looking through the available information that I can find, that there's a lot of depth to Kalen's right wing views. In many ways, it seems aesthetic, almost. It seems almost performed.
