Well, that's the thing after 1945, of course, not just the West Russia as well, in fairness, but yeah, the CIA and the State Department in particular, recruiting lots of ex-Nazis. And of course, that led into things like the MKUltra program and a lot of other very nefarious activities over the course of many decades.
