Section 338 of the 1930 Tariff Act provides a legal basis for imposing up to 50% tariffs on countries that discriminate against U.S. trade.
The Court of International Trade, Section 122, provided a stronger legal basis for global tariffs. So they could invoke Section 338 of the 1930 Tariff Act, which actually gets you up to 50% tariffs on countries that discriminate against U.S. trade.
