Nixon used the National Guard to shoot protesters at Kent State, ending the anti-war movement.
And as I keep referring on my own little broadcast the same way, America was in a similar place during the Vietnam War, Alex, and until the killings at Kent State, because Nixon was a tough guy. He drew a line in the sand. They crossed it. And he had the National Guard, I believe they were answering to him. The Ohio National Guard answered to Nixon and he had deputy militarized him. They shot the protesters. X number of them were killed. There was never another protest on that campus. And the whole anti-war movement disappeared. They all went home to mommy, had their hair cut and took a job in a local coffee shop and went to work for their mother's brazier store. That was the end of it.
