Viva & Barnes - Live with Michael Oxford - From the Nick Shirley Act to other California Madness & Beyond! Aired: 2026-04-20 Duration: 01:08:40 === Fired For Sticking Up (08:09) === [00:00:00] Ladies and gentlemen, I am figuring out how the new Rumble canvas works, and it seems in order to hear my golf voice, you must see the avatar, because if I take myself out like such, then you hear nothing. [00:00:12] Behold our introductory video back in the olden days of COVID. [00:00:16] Many people want to forget the games we all played, but one man refuses to forget. [00:00:21] Behold! [00:00:24] All right. [00:00:25] So, I just got fired. [00:00:30] I got fired for refusing to wear a mask. [00:00:33] Yeah, February of 2023, I got fired for refusing to wear a mask. [00:00:42] I recently decided that I'm done being an actor in everybody's theater. [00:00:49] I'm done playing all of these COVID games that are for nothing more than optics. [00:00:55] And yesterday I was at a job site in Pacific Heights and I was instructed by the site foreman to put on a mask. [00:01:03] And I asked him, Would I not be allowed on the job site if I refused to comply? [00:01:08] He immediately got mad and just called my project manager. [00:01:11] He didn't even answer my question. [00:01:13] I got kicked off the job site and my boss sent me home. [00:01:17] On my drive home, my boss's wife, who's the head of HR, calls me and tells me that his verbiage about me being furloughed until Monday was wrong. [00:01:28] I'm being sent home with pay. [00:01:29] This is a non-fireable offense, they tell me. [00:01:32] But we have a meeting tomorrow at 8:30 just to discuss what happened. [00:01:36] Well,. [00:01:38] That was today. [00:01:39] I come into the meeting and they again tell me this isn't a fireable offense, but I need to be willing to comply with COVID policies. [00:01:47] And I explain to them that I do refuse to wear a mask. [00:01:52] And they continue to explain how it's no different than putting on foot booties when I go in somebody's house to do work. [00:02:01] Clearly, I just screwed that and I made that clear. [00:02:05] But they basically told me that. [00:02:10] We need to separate if I'm not willing to comply with policies. [00:02:14] And I told them that I'm not quitting. [00:02:16] And they had a write up prepared. [00:02:19] They thought, they completely thought that I was just going to sign this write up and we'd go about our business. [00:02:25] And they were dumbfounded when I told them that I'm not willing to wear a mask anymore. [00:02:31] We need to separate. [00:02:32] It's not you, it's me. [00:02:34] I mean, this is like, this is classic 2023. [00:02:38] I believe this is California. [00:02:41] And they then changed their story, and apparently it is a firewall policy because I have been terminated. [00:02:48] I was sent home, my email's turned off. [00:02:49] They said they're gonna send somebody to pick up the van, company computer, and iPad today. [00:02:56] My email has already been turned off. [00:02:58] I haven't been given a final check or anything. [00:03:01] So this whole thing seems super shady to me. [00:03:04] The President of the United States already said COVID is over. [00:03:09] COVID is over, but like they said in Lord of the Rings, Why should I give this power back when we can compel our employees to do whatever? [00:03:18] Force total submission under penalty of termination. [00:03:23] How can anybody enforce COVID policies? [00:03:26] So, I don't know about you guys, but I 100% feel that I was just fired for sticking up for my basic human rights. [00:03:38] Yeah, I know plenty of you guys will laugh at that. [00:03:40] Say I'm being soft or a bitch or whatever. [00:03:45] I'm willing to lose my. [00:03:47] Fucking job over this shit. [00:03:49] Don't tell me I'm being a bitch when you're the one that just puts on a mask when you know it doesn't do shit just because you don't want to have conflict. [00:03:56] Fuck you. [00:03:58] First of all, uh, sir, the mask does do something. [00:04:01] It causes face acne, it causes mouth bacteria, it causes the inhalation of microplastics that find their way deep into the lungs. [00:04:09] Don't tell me the masks don't do anything, sir. [00:04:11] Bada bing, bada boom. [00:04:14] I'll land on my feet. [00:04:15] I always do, but amplified lifestyles. [00:04:23] I am going to seek every legal option because I do not feel that what you just did was legal. [00:04:32] And that sucks because this company had become like family to me. [00:04:37] Best company I ever worked for. [00:04:40] Fucking shame. [00:04:42] Stop putting your foot down, people. [00:04:47] Thanks for listening. [00:04:48] Well, that is a rant that went viral. [00:04:50] I have to just go back and see the metrics on this thing. [00:04:53] It was in Michael Oxford's channel back in 2023, February. [00:04:59] So we are now three years out. [00:05:01] And the madness continues, as a member of our Viva Barnes Law.locals.com community told us. [00:05:06] So that's Michael Oxford. [00:05:07] You're going to get to meet him, and we're going to talk that and much more during this show. [00:05:11] This came to be because of members of our locals community that said, Viva, you got to follow this guy. [00:05:17] He trail runs with his dog. [00:05:18] We want to see a video of you doing an ultra marathon or trail running with him in the mountains of, I want to say Santa Cruz, but I might be thinking Santa Monica. [00:05:27] And we are flashbacking to a time when nothing made any sense. [00:05:31] And I want to get into another interesting post that Michael put out, which was once you see it and saw it with COVID, how you don't see it now with other issues applied mutatis mutandis. [00:05:45] That's on you if you don't see it happening again in real time as it happened with the war in the Ukraine. [00:05:51] And a current war, and current talking points, and current media strategy, all in unison, saying the same thing. [00:05:57] Without further ado, everybody, Viva Fry, former Montreal litigator, turned current Florida rumbler. [00:06:02] In my new studio office, with my new camera, what's amazing, I was going to show you the blood pressure machine. [00:06:09] I was doing a blood pressure test before just to make sure. [00:06:12] The camera, I think, should focus. [00:06:14] There you go. [00:06:14] See, now it focuses. [00:06:15] Oh, look how sharp that depth of field is. [00:06:17] Bring it back. [00:06:18] By the way, my blood pressure was perfect. [00:06:19] It was 117 over 78. [00:06:21] Pulse was 67. [00:06:22] That was after having exercised and had an energy drink. [00:06:25] This is a new camera, and I kind of like it. [00:06:28] Now, without further ado, daily show, three o'clock on Rumble. [00:06:31] If you're new to the channel and you're watching on the landing page, click in, subscribe. [00:06:35] If you want, I don't know, support the channel, vivabarnslaw.locals.com is the best place to do it. [00:06:40] Custom video shoutouts, you go to shoutout.us forward slash viva. [00:06:44] If you want a book, Louie the Lobster, I'm mailing two copies to a member of our locals community. [00:06:49] You can get Louie the Lobster on Amazon. [00:06:51] But without further ado, we're bringing in our guest of the day, Michael Oxford, a man who put his foot down, got fired for not wearing a mask, and I've got questions. [00:06:58] Sir, That's not where we want to have you. [00:07:00] We want to have you here. [00:07:01] How goes the battle, Michael? [00:07:03] It's great, man. [00:07:03] Thanks for having me. [00:07:05] The world is wild. [00:07:06] We have these overlapping Venn diagrams of respective communities, and sometimes they don't actually overlap until someone pokes the bubble and makes them connect. [00:07:15] I forget exactly who it was in my community. [00:07:16] They said, Vivi, you got to A, meet this guy, B, have him on, and C, go running, trail running in Santa Cruz. [00:07:23] Tell the world who's meeting you now for the first time who you are. [00:07:27] My name is Michael Oxford. [00:07:28] I'm just a regular tradesman out of the Santa Cruz Mountains. [00:07:32] I'm an audio video guy. [00:07:34] And yeah, that video, that man, that video is embarrassing, but that video sort of changed my life. [00:07:41] The next day, Tucker reached out to me and I ended up on his show. [00:07:46] And that sort of made me kind of unhirable in the Bay Area. [00:07:52] And I was actually unable to get audio video work in residential audio video for like the next year and a half. [00:07:59] And I ended up having to go back to commercial audio video. [00:08:03] And yeah, it was interesting. [00:08:05] And my ex account sort of blew up from that. === Unhirable After Dad Passed (02:05) === [00:08:09] And I'd been talking about starting just a show talking about, you know, all of the madness during COVID. [00:08:16] And that sort of is what got me started doing the whole podcasting thing. [00:08:21] I'm not going to spend too much time on it. [00:08:23] I just, I do like to know everyone's origin story. [00:08:25] Are you born and raised in the California area? [00:08:28] Oh, yeah. [00:08:28] I was born actually in the town that I live in. [00:08:31] In Los Gatos, California. [00:08:33] I'm up in the Santa Cruz Mountains, like unincorporated Los Gatos. [00:08:36] And yeah, I'm a Californian at heart. [00:08:39] Don't judge me too harshly. [00:08:40] Parents, what did your parents do or what do they do? [00:08:44] My dad was just a sales guy in the Bay Area. [00:08:48] He's passed away. [00:08:48] My mom lives up in Seattle. [00:08:50] My dad passed away right in the middle of COVID. [00:08:54] So that was one of the reasons why I was done with all this madness. [00:08:59] I mean, not to get too long winded about it, but I quit drinking like a year before COVID started and I started trail running and got in the best shape of my life. [00:09:08] And then, you know, a year later, COVID happens and everybody, it seemed like the most unhealthy people were the ones telling me what I needed to do to be healthy. [00:09:19] And then, you know, my dad dies and shortly after the vaccine, the shot was mandated and everybody's trying to force me to get it. [00:09:30] And I was just done. [00:09:30] I was just fed up with everybody's BS. [00:09:32] And, It all sort of culminated when they tried to force me to wear a mask on a job site in 2023 and they cost me my job. [00:09:43] I got to peel back a few layers on this onion now. [00:09:45] So you stopped drinking in a year before COVID. [00:09:47] So, say 2019, I've got to ask, I mean, going back to childhood and then getting to there. [00:09:52] So, if I may pry, 12 step type drinking problem or just a health decision to lead a healthier life? [00:10:02] So, I didn't, it was bad. [00:10:04] I was drinking. [00:10:05] An insane amount every single night, like, you know, almost a full bottle of the big bottles of Jameson, like every night. [00:10:11] And I didn't go to like rehab or anything. === Jordan Peterson Back And Forth (05:12) === [00:10:14] My buddy tried to drag me to one once and it wasn't a great experience, but I just, I just stopped. [00:10:18] Just one day I just stopped. [00:10:20] Actually, I was having pains like in my, in my side. [00:10:24] And I went to the doctor and the doctor straight told me, your liver is swollen from drinking so much. [00:10:29] And I went home that day and I never drank again. [00:10:32] That was, that was it. [00:10:34] And may I ask, what was the impetus to drive to the drinking? [00:10:37] Is it, History of anything in the family? [00:10:40] Just a bad, I mean, I say the bad habit like that accrues over time, but is there any impetus to what was causing the drinking in the first place? [00:10:48] No, I mean, I was sort of like a washed up athlete. [00:10:51] I played baseball all my life, and then it just slowly got worse and worse and worse. [00:10:56] And I just hated myself. [00:10:57] And the more I hated myself, the more I would keep drinking. [00:11:00] And yeah, it sucks because I kind of wasted the prime of my life and realized, oh, I could still be an athlete. [00:11:05] I just, you know, can't be a professional one. [00:11:08] Well, I tell you, we're good to get into the trail running, but the trail running itself is more of an athlete of the mind than an athlete of the body because I think most people are capable of doing it if they can get past the mental barrier. [00:11:19] The question that I did have, however, how old are you? [00:11:22] I'm 42. [00:11:23] 42. [00:11:24] Okay. [00:11:25] So I've also had this series. [00:11:27] I got into a bit of a back and forth with Michael Schellenberg earlier today because he was commentating or commenting, say, judging on the Jordan Peterson situation. [00:11:36] Jordan Peterson, are you following what's going on with Jordan? [00:11:38] At least what Michaela put out in terms of an update on her father? [00:11:42] I saw her update, but Jordan Peterson was one of the main reasons that I basically got the strength to quit drinking. [00:11:49] Jordan Peterson, Jocko Willink, David Goggins, Joe Rogan, like the 12 Rules for Life really helped and, you know, listening to him talk. [00:11:59] So I'm pretty bummed out, you know, what he's going through. [00:12:03] He actually has me blocked on X. Jordan Peterson has you blocked on X. [00:12:08] Yeah. [00:12:09] Do you know what you did to merit? [00:12:11] I say merit. [00:12:12] Sometimes it's auto blocks or lists. [00:12:13] Do you know what? [00:12:14] Was there any specific interaction? [00:12:16] I criticized a certain foreign nation that you're not supposed to criticize. [00:12:20] Surely that was Ukraine, sir. [00:12:21] Oh, right. [00:12:24] Ukraine, you can criticize all day long. [00:12:26] You criticize Israel, that is the auto block for many, many people. [00:12:30] And just so you're aware, I don't do the identity politics thing whatsoever. [00:12:36] That's not taboo, and nor do I think everybody who criticizes a foreign nation, Israel in particular, is inherently bad or anti Semitic. [00:12:44] It's the wildest thing where you can rag all day long on Canada and the Canadian government. [00:12:49] Cool. [00:12:50] Rag all day long on China and the CCP. [00:12:52] Cool. [00:12:52] Rag all day long on Ukraine and Zelensky and the corruption there. [00:12:55] Cool. [00:12:56] Criticize the Israeli government and you are lumped into the anti Semitic condemning all Jews throughout the world. [00:13:02] Admittedly, some people do it, most people do not. [00:13:04] And it's just the knee jerk reaction to dismissing any discussion. [00:13:08] But so, Jordan, okay, interesting. [00:13:10] No, well, the Schellenberger was commentating or commenting, responding to Michaela saying, I don't believe your story. [00:13:17] He must have relapsed. [00:13:18] And if he doesn't admit that he's a drug addict, then all sorts of crap. [00:13:21] And I'm like, A, you know, if what you're saying is either true or not true, either way, you're a world class asshole for taking this moment of vulnerability to try to shame someone. [00:13:30] But my underlying theory of life is that people are addictive creatures and they need to substitute the unhealthy addictions for the healthy ones. [00:13:37] And you basically substituted drinking for trail running, which itself is an addiction. [00:13:41] It just happens to be a healthy one on the body, save and except for the knees when you hit 60. [00:13:46] No, you hit the nail on the head. [00:13:48] I mean, it is an addiction. [00:13:50] Trail running absolutely is an addiction. [00:13:52] And it's not always the healthiest. [00:13:53] If you, you know, I'm 6'6. [00:13:55] And I'm kind of heavy, not like overweight, but just I'm a heavy body. [00:14:00] And yeah, I've got a 30%, I'm missing 30% of my meniscus in my right knee. [00:14:05] I have a slight tear in my left knee. [00:14:07] I roll my ankles all the time and I have a herniated disc in my back. [00:14:10] So it's not exactly the healthiest thing, but I mean, it keeps me in shape and it's mentally, you know, strengthening. [00:14:18] The things you see, like I'm without a doubt addicted to, I say, any given number of things, energy drinks, whatever, but exercise in particular, if I don't do it, You become psychologically antsy, can't sleep, and anxious, and all this other crap. [00:14:32] I'm 5'6, and how much do you weigh, if I may ask? [00:14:35] I'm about 235 right now. [00:14:37] 235. [00:14:37] So you're a foot tall, a solid foot taller than me. [00:14:40] And I don't yet have those problems. [00:14:42] I think as you're shorter and more compressed, you don't get the knee issues. [00:14:46] But the addiction of the long form running, what's amazing is I went out biking this morning. [00:14:51] On one bike ride, I saw a bobcat, I saw, you know, see the gators, all the other standard stuff. [00:14:56] I saw, oh, a deer today. [00:14:57] Once you get addicted to that level of exposure to wildlife and the awe factor, you can't live without it once you've lived with it. [00:15:03] And the longer you run, I guess the more you maximize your odds of seeing it. [00:15:07] How much do you run weekly? [00:15:10] So, I'm just ramping back up right now. [00:15:12] Last week I did 30 miles. [00:15:14] I try to get to 40 miles and stay there. [00:15:17] That's in a week. [00:15:19] Yeah. [00:15:19] Okay. [00:15:20] You're going to say 40 miles in a day. [00:15:22] That is a crack addiction. [00:15:24] I still, those long form runners, they're nuts. === Tech Boom Belly Of The Beast (07:46) === [00:15:27] Okay. [00:15:27] So, 2019 hits. [00:15:28] You get off drinking. [00:15:30] The world shuts down. [00:15:31] They shut down. [00:15:31] You're not doing the AA thing, but the world shuts down. [00:15:34] And basically, people are now locked in their homes. [00:15:36] They leave open the essential services, which is alcohol. [00:15:39] And I say that without judgment. [00:15:41] Right. [00:15:42] And then you play, you, I don't know what the first three years are like, but when you got fired from this job, was it outdoor contract work or was it indoor audio visual work? [00:15:51] No, it was, it was like smart homes type thing, you know, movie theaters, speakers everywhere. [00:15:57] We did lighting control and shades and, you know, the full smart automation thing. [00:16:03] And it was a really high end company and our clients were people that you know. [00:16:10] I still can't say who the clients were, but they were. [00:16:13] Very powerful Bay Area, California people in the tech industry. [00:16:17] And I was in their homes. [00:16:20] So that was like part of the reason, too, is because it was like really high profile clients and they couldn't have any sort of negative publicity with it. [00:16:27] Unbelievable. [00:16:28] So you're going, because for a second I thought it was construction and you're working outdoors, which makes the masks even more absurd. [00:16:33] Although the excuse might be, well, for safety, this is you're going into the houses and like it was the most awful thing where we did these events or where you attended events and the people hosting the events could not have their masks on the speakers, et cetera. [00:16:48] The waitresses and waiters and cleaning staff, they all had to have their masks on. [00:16:51] And it was just basically another form of indicating who were the lowly plebs, servants, and who were the kings and royalty. [00:16:57] So you're going into these houses and they're like, I don't want to see this dirty pleb without a face mask on. [00:17:02] It's either subservience or satisfying their neuroses that this dirty individual coming into your house is emitting some toxic, contagious disease. [00:17:11] Submit or you're not coming into my home. [00:17:14] Yeah. [00:17:15] This particular job site, it was similar to what you were saying. [00:17:19] It was a construction site. [00:17:20] So nobody was living there. [00:17:21] This is a. [00:17:22] This is a true four story house with a rooftop balcony in Pacific Heights of San Francisco, overlooking the Palace of Fine Arts, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge. [00:17:34] So, we're talking a multi million dollar home. [00:17:37] And this person, you know the name of who this person's house was, but nobody was living there. [00:17:42] It was all construction. [00:17:43] And I was already there for like three months wiring the home, and there was no mask mandate. [00:17:48] And then all of a sudden, they implemented one. [00:17:51] And this was weeks after Joe Biden said that COVID is over. [00:17:57] San Francisco had this policy that if a job site gets three COVID cases on a job site, then the job site gets shut down. [00:18:04] And this was in February of 2023. [00:18:07] So it was just, it was just madness. [00:18:10] And so they fire you. [00:18:12] And had you ever been fired from a job in your life before this? [00:18:15] No. [00:18:16] And I had a really good relationship with the owner of the company. [00:18:20] It was a small company, but a really high end, high value company. [00:18:25] And like the owner of the company, I used to go shooting with him. [00:18:28] He's the one that taught me how to take apart my AR and put it back together. [00:18:31] And it sucked because there were other owners that just weren't having it. [00:18:36] And so you get fired, your life is, I mean, married kids or none. [00:18:40] No, negative. [00:18:41] Not that I know. [00:18:42] I say small. [00:18:44] You'd know if you had a wife. [00:18:45] I say the jokes right themselves. [00:18:47] So, I mean, at the very least, you know, falling on your feet when you don't have, I don't know, these other financial burdens. [00:18:54] I guess it's something of a blessing in disguise at that point. [00:18:56] You're out of work for the first time. [00:18:58] And what do you do the day after this happens? [00:19:00] I cashed out my pension, started working on my resume, and I actually had tons of interviews. [00:19:06] And the same exact thing would happen. [00:19:08] It was like a call went out because in the Bay Area audio video world, it's a very small. [00:19:16] Sort of community, I guess, and all of the companies know each other. [00:19:20] And I would interview with the company, everything would go great. [00:19:22] Because I've been doing this at that time, I'd been doing it about 17 years, and I had a fairly substantial resume. [00:19:30] I know what I'm doing with this stuff. [00:19:31] And I would interview, it would go great, and then they would just ghost me. [00:19:35] And this happened with a dozen companies more. [00:19:39] It was insane. [00:19:41] And so, what do you end up doing in order to make ends meet? [00:19:44] I mean, not having a family to support is one thing, but you have yourself to support. [00:19:47] I don't know how many dogs you have at the time. [00:19:49] What do you do? [00:19:50] Yeah, I cashed out my pension and that kept me afloat for quite a while, you know, like a year. [00:19:56] That is wild. [00:19:57] And so, what are you doing now? [00:19:58] I know you do content, you're doing long form. [00:20:00] I mean, you do the trail ring, and I don't mean that in any dismissive way. [00:20:04] It's like I'm telling you, there's going to be a niche for that level of content that people want and need to break away from their addiction to the nastiness of politics. [00:20:13] And I could already see the type of content you could create doing that. [00:20:16] So, what are you doing now? [00:20:18] I'm doing audio video on the commercial side now. [00:20:20] So, now it's more of the It's ironically the tech companies now, so not the owners of the tech companies working at the actual tech companies. [00:20:28] And the company I work for is super cool, done by a bunch of Irish guys, and they don't really give a shit. [00:20:33] So they fully know what I do in my off time and they know what I talk about. [00:20:38] And you know, people don't seem to care, so it's nice. [00:20:41] Well, now we're going to get into what you talk about. [00:20:43] I know what you talk about. [00:20:44] We talk about the same things, and you are in the belly of the beast. [00:20:48] Where do you live in California now? [00:20:49] If you like, not you know, not specifically, but what area? [00:20:52] Not that it matters because it's all the belly of the beast, but where you at? [00:20:54] Oh, I'm in the Santa Cruz Mountains. [00:20:57] I don't worry about getting docks. [00:20:58] I'm in Los Gatos, California, up in the top of the Santa Cruz Mountains, right above. [00:21:03] I look out my window and I can see Capitola, which is the town right next to Santa Cruz. [00:21:07] What I love is I'm not worried about getting docks. [00:21:08] I've got a gun above my head and I've got a long range of visibility. [00:21:15] So you live in, I'm not familiar with that town in particular, but if you've lived there your entire life, I presume you've seen something of a transformation over the 40 years of your life or the last 30 years of your conscious life. [00:21:24] Has there been an evolution as a result of politics and demographics in that area? [00:21:28] Oh, 100%. [00:21:29] I was from San Jose, which is the town down the hill. [00:21:32] Well, it's not a town. [00:21:33] San Jose is one of the biggest cities in California. [00:21:36] And San Jose used to be much more rural, a lot of fields. [00:21:40] And, you know, I grew up there before the tech boom. [00:21:43] So, you know, I was raised in San Jose when, like, pre internet. [00:21:49] And then, you know, I went through the dot com crash and then the housing crash in 2009 and then COVID in late 2019. [00:21:58] So, and Yes, there's been a dramatic wealth sort of disparity change and a demographic change for sure. [00:22:08] For the better or for the worse? [00:22:11] I mean, there's there, there's there's pluses and minuses for both crime wise. [00:22:17] Um, San Jose is actually not a horrible city for crime. [00:22:22] The homelessness has gotten out of control, but San Jose is doing better than most cities, you know, compared to like Oakland, LA, San Francisco. [00:22:32] They're much better in that regard. [00:22:35] Okay. [00:22:35] Now, now we've got the genesis story, the origin story, and the catch up to where you are. [00:22:40] So you are now. [00:22:41] In addition to your job, you're covering the stuff that everybody else is covering, but you are in the belly of the beast, and there's a number of things that are putting California on the map, so to speak, of news these days. [00:22:50] What beats are you following in particular by way of national or state news stories? [00:23:00] So, my show is specific towards California politics, but I talk a lot of geopolitics too. [00:23:04] But I'm really following the California gubernatorial race. [00:23:08] I just interviewed Steve Hilton, and I ran for state senate back in. === Short Term Political Disruption (14:46) === [00:23:13] You know, a couple of years ago, lost horribly. [00:23:16] But the guy I ran against is, there's a lot of fraud or, should I say, wasted abuse that's kind of attached to him. [00:23:26] There's like the Capital Annex project where they're keeping how much that project is costing under wraps. [00:23:32] And there was something else that I talked about last night that he was attached to that was suspicious. [00:23:39] But his name's John Laird. [00:23:41] John, well, I want to bring up one video which you posted and. [00:23:46] Oh, cripe. [00:23:47] Where is it here? [00:23:47] Hold on. [00:23:48] I had it on the backdrop. [00:23:50] I didn't have it. [00:23:51] Oh, come on. [00:23:52] It was the montage of short term pain for long term gain as relates to the war. [00:23:59] Where did I put that? [00:24:00] I know that I had it. [00:24:01] I have to go back to Super Grok here. [00:24:02] Here's the link to the tweet. [00:24:04] All right, I got it right here. [00:24:05] I want to play this. [00:24:06] We're going to touch on this just a bit and then we're going to get into the rest of this. [00:24:09] You sort of qualified it as in once you see this, you can't unsee it. [00:24:14] And this is the clip. [00:24:15] I noticed it all happening in unison as well. [00:24:17] Listen to this piece. [00:24:18] This is a short term disruption for the long term gain. [00:24:22] Short term. [00:24:23] Are you long term gain? [00:24:25] Short term pain be for long term gain. [00:24:27] We're going to have some short term pain. [00:24:29] I'm getting used to the new studio. [00:24:30] So in the old studio, it would come right up into the screen. [00:24:33] Now I have to do a second step. [00:24:34] So I'll play this from the beginning again. [00:24:35] This is a short term disruption for the long term gain. [00:24:38] Short term pain for the long term gain. [00:24:42] Short term pain be for long term gain. [00:24:43] We're going to have some short term pain with long term gain. [00:24:47] Short term pay. [00:24:48] For a long term gain. [00:24:50] Some short term pain, yes. [00:24:51] We've got some long term gain. [00:24:53] Short term spike for a long term gain. [00:24:56] Some short term pain for American consumers. [00:24:58] We may have to deal with that in the short term. [00:25:00] Short term and temporary. [00:25:02] Temporary, short term pain. [00:25:04] It's going to suck in the short term. [00:25:05] Some short term pain. [00:25:06] Short term pain. [00:25:08] We have to focus on the short term. [00:25:12] and long term. [00:25:13] Short term. [00:25:14] Hopefully, this is a short term pain. [00:25:16] Short term is highly outweighed of the long term benefit. [00:25:20] Some short term. [00:25:21] Pain for the long term gain, short term sacrifice for a long term gain. [00:25:27] This is a short term disruption. [00:25:29] And you say, How is anyone who recognized the COVID vaccine propaganda for what it was not recognizing what's happening now? [00:25:36] The question is going to be this. [00:25:39] I noticed there's a certain madness, or call it a madness or call it a patriotism, because depending on which way you are, you say if the country's at war, you shut your mouth if you have any dissenting voice about it and don't go. [00:25:51] And that's what it means to be a patriot. [00:25:55] The fact that people don't understand that is exactly what was said on the one hand for the support of the Ukraine war and for COVID itself. [00:26:02] We're at war against a virus. [00:26:04] Shut your mouth and play along, even if you disagree with it, because we're at war and it's not a time for disagreement. [00:26:11] I mean, flesh out your thoughts on that in terms of how you view that and any blowback you get for even sharing that sentiment. [00:26:20] Well, so to me, it's the exact same as the montage. [00:26:23] Do you remember the COVID montage where it was no one is safe until everyone is safe? [00:26:29] We had two weeks to flatten the curve montage. [00:26:33] Closer Together is Further Apart. [00:26:35] I don't think they did a montage about that. [00:26:36] But yes, we're all in it together montage and none of us are safe. [00:26:40] I do remember that one. [00:26:42] So it's the whole Operation Mockingbird thing. [00:26:46] This is like the right wing version of it. [00:26:48] It's like a memo went out to all the media companies. [00:26:51] This is the catchphrase that you're going to use, and everybody's going to parrot the same thing. [00:26:55] And it's like, how could so many people recognize that during COVID, during the vaccine propaganda? [00:27:01] And then now it's war propaganda, and there's no greater time period of mass propaganda than when we're during a war. [00:27:10] So, how can you not recognize this for what it is? [00:27:12] It's like a mass formation psychosis type thing. [00:27:15] So, I compare it to during COVID, so many people like attached their identity to the vaccine thing. [00:27:20] They were so terrified of COVID, they made the whole Vaccine mask up thing, like part of their identity because they are 100% bought in. [00:27:29] And then, like, I voted for Trump, so full transparency. [00:27:33] And I voted for no new wars. [00:27:36] I voted for things costing less. [00:27:39] I voted for, you know, a strong border, but which he's done. [00:27:43] But there's so many. [00:27:45] I voted for the Epstein files being completely released and going after people. [00:27:49] I voted for the deep state being obliterated. [00:27:54] And it seems like so many of the things that were promised we're not getting. [00:27:58] In fact, he's doing the exact opposite. [00:28:01] He's part of the swamp now. [00:28:02] And if you criticize that, now you're attacked by people on the right because they're fully bought in, just like they made the whole MAGA thing part of their identity. [00:28:12] There's so many people on that side. [00:28:14] And when it was the left attacking me for COVID, I didn't care because it's, you know, whatever. [00:28:20] You guys are a bunch of idiot leftists anyway. [00:28:23] But now it's like people that I've gotten along with for years. [00:28:27] And all of a sudden, I have a dissenting opinion, and it's like you're cast out of polite society. [00:28:37] What's amazing is I didn't vote. [00:28:40] I still can't vote. [00:28:41] One day I may vote in America. [00:28:43] I say, touch wood. [00:28:45] I don't think there's any realm of the universe where I would ever vote Democrat in the broader sense. [00:28:52] Individuals, maybe some candidate comes out that actually separates itself from that toxic, corrupt, pedo grooming. [00:29:01] Party, which is what it is right now. [00:29:02] There's no realm of the universe where I ever see myself voting Democrat, but you having voted for Trump, how do you feel when people, I don't know if it happened, I presume it had to have, people actually probably told you on the internet, no, you did vote for this because 1987, Barbara Walters interview, Trump said he might, you know, bomb Iran or they should have finished the job in Iran. [00:29:20] 2016, he said, well, I'm going to bomb the shit out of them. [00:29:23] How does it make you feel when someone tells you, no, you did actually vote for that? [00:29:25] Well, it's even worse because I'm a libertarian. [00:29:27] So all the, and, you know, libertarians, you're supposed to vote for the libertarian candidate. [00:29:31] I know, I'm sorry, V. That don't judge me too well. [00:29:33] I say, thus far, you seem relatively normal for a libertarian. [00:29:36] The most normal libertarian thus far that I've met is Larry Sharp. [00:29:39] All the other ones tend to be a little bit peculiar. [00:29:42] We'll see if you get peculiar as this goes along. [00:29:45] I love Larry. [00:29:45] I met him in person at one of the conventions and I did his show. [00:29:50] Yeah, I'm a Mises Caucus libertarian. [00:29:52] So I'm not an open borders libertarian. [00:29:55] The funny thing is, you're not a real libertarian until another libertarian tells you that you're not a real libertarian. [00:30:00] And so I'm getting attacked by not just the hardcore MAGA people, but the libertarians that were like, see, You know, this is what you voted for, type thing. [00:30:09] And. [00:30:10] And yeah, like you could find clips of Trump taking both sides of an issue going back a long time. [00:30:17] But the sentiment was war with Iran is a terrible idea. [00:30:22] And like that was sort of a cornerstone of his whole campaign. [00:30:27] And now he's obviously flip flopped on that. [00:30:31] Yeah, it is funny. [00:30:33] You get the libertarians or the Democrats, the anti Trumpers who say, this is what you voted for. [00:30:37] I mean, just as a matter of fact, to the extent it's what occurred and based on your vote, it is, as a matter of fact, what you voted for. [00:30:43] They say more in the gotcha, you voted for a con man. [00:30:46] I don't believe that Trump was a con man. [00:30:49] I don't believe that he didn't mean what he ran on in 2024. [00:30:51] I don't believe that he didn't espouse the views and the principles of the coalition. [00:30:57] In my view, something has clearly shifted in his perspective. [00:31:02] And people out there are going to say, yeah, it's the proximity of Iran to a nuclear weapon. [00:31:06] And I'm not convinced about that. [00:31:08] I'm convinced it's more of an undue influence of the deep state military industrial complex apparatus that has not been dismantled. [00:31:16] And Somehow, always finds a way. [00:31:19] All roads lead to war. [00:31:20] But you don't feel gaslit into insanity when someone tells you, no, no, this is what you did, in fact, vote for. [00:31:27] He said, no new forever wars, not no new wars. [00:31:29] He's always said Iran has to be dealt with. [00:31:33] And the no deep state arrests, well, that's just because you focus too much on the Epstein. [00:31:37] It's your fault. [00:31:39] Yeah, no, I don't think Trump is. [00:31:42] It's hard to tell because he's kind of influenced by whoever's closest to him. [00:31:49] I don't think he wanted to go against his campaign promises. [00:31:54] I feel that Trump has been compromised personally by outside influences and people who contributed greatly to his campaign and helped him get into office and maybe his son in law. [00:32:06] And yeah, I just think there's a lot of things that we don't know that are happening behind the scenes that are influencing the decisions he makes. [00:32:16] Well, now that we've probably pissed off, I'd say maybe half the audience, maybe not, there's that element. [00:32:23] California is in the news a lot lately. [00:32:27] We can get to Gavin Newsom in a second. [00:32:28] Have you been following the Eric Swalwell scandal? [00:32:31] Oh, yeah, 100%. [00:32:32] Okay. [00:32:32] I mean, I talked about it yesterday, or Robert Barnes and I, we talked about it last night. [00:32:36] And I said to him, I was like, I've never seen it happen so quickly, so swiftly. [00:32:41] This was a precision strike of political destruction. [00:32:45] But there's more to this swallow, more follow to occur. [00:32:51] Involving other people? [00:32:53] Well, I'm sure there is. [00:32:54] I haven't dug too deep into all of the different accusations, but you're right in how rapidly this happened. [00:33:00] This was the fastest Me Too ever. [00:33:02] You know, he was, at first, he wasn't even going to drop out of the race, and then he's dropping out of the race, and then he's resigning from Congress. [00:33:09] It's like, what did he do? [00:33:11] Is my question. [00:33:12] Because, and I'm not saying that the people that are accusing him are making false allegations. [00:33:18] I'm not saying that at all, but it is rather strange how this all. [00:33:23] Sort of happened in like a one or two week period. [00:33:26] And it seems, it feels like he got asked to drop out of the race for whatever reason, said no. [00:33:33] And they're like, okay, well, we're going to aim this apparatus at you. [00:33:36] And this is what you get. [00:33:39] What is the, I mean, people know of Katie Porter only because there was a recent sort of campaign against her a few months ago. [00:33:45] Maybe it might have been a little more where that interview with the journalist went viral. [00:33:48] What's the deal with Katie Porter? [00:33:50] What's the deal with the governor's race on the Democrat side and on the Republican side in California right now? [00:33:55] Well, Katie Porter is a psychopath. [00:33:57] She's a narcissist, abusive woman. [00:34:00] And every single person that's running for California governor that's a Democrat, other than Matt Mahan, is an ultra leftist way farther to the left than Gavin Newsom actually is. [00:34:10] Gavin Newsom's not even a hardcore leftist, he's an opportunist. [00:34:14] And he will sort of go whatever way the political winds are blowing. [00:34:19] But, I mean, guys like Stire, Tom Stire, and. [00:34:26] Javier Becerra. [00:34:27] They're not even, well, Steyer's polling number one. [00:34:30] So it's likely going to be Steyer and Porter and Matt Mahan, mayor of San Jose, actually has a chance because he's got like big tech behind him. [00:34:38] But yeah, the race is super interesting because the Democrat field has so many people running in it. [00:34:47] And there's, you know, two Republicans that are actually polling in the top three right now. [00:34:51] So a lot of people are speculating that the two Republicans are actually going to move past the The primary, because California has what's called a jungle primary. [00:34:59] So that's I was just going to ask you, clarify that, because I don't think people appreciate this. [00:35:02] There's a party primaries. [00:35:05] No, no, not in California. [00:35:07] We have what's called a jungle primary, and that's for every primary. [00:35:10] Yeah, and that's for every political race, whether it's state, senate, assembly, obviously the gubernatorial race, it's the top two vote getters move on. [00:35:19] And I think it was designed to make it so you only have two Democrats to choose from. [00:35:23] But now the Democrats have made the mistake of watering down their own pool too much that they're going to divide that vote out. [00:35:30] And we might actually end up with a Republican and a Democrat. [00:35:34] So, like, back when. [00:35:36] Sorry, if I may, procedurally, just to stop it there, top two, and you had four Democrats, at least, did Stires, Porter. [00:35:45] Uh, Swalwell and the other, the third guy, the fourth guy whose name I don't know on the Republican side. [00:35:50] I forget both of their names right now. [00:35:52] I had one on the channel who was running for the Republicans in California. [00:35:57] That's Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco. [00:35:59] And Chad Bianco is the sheriff out of Riverside. [00:36:01] Steve Hilton is a British former Fox News host who I actually really like. [00:36:06] Um, Hilton is my guy. [00:36:08] Chad Bianco, I have major issues with. [00:36:10] Do you know, are you familiar with a guy named Vem Miller? [00:36:12] Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. [00:36:14] I didn't have either Bianco or I had Vem Miller on who explained to me. [00:36:18] I knew of his ordeal with. [00:36:19] Chad Bianco and how he got railroaded by Chad Bianco. [00:36:21] I had Vem Miller on, I'd say, about a month, maybe two ago, and he was explaining why this is so important that Chad Bianco, you know, the truth be told on Chad. [00:36:30] Yeah, what he did to Vem is utterly insane and it's completely disqualifying, in my opinion. [00:36:36] I mean, Vem Miller was a MAGA guy and they tried to frame him as the third would be Trump assassin. [00:36:44] And the only reason Chad Bianco did it is so he can get up in front of a podium and give a press conference to boost his. [00:36:52] Political stature. [00:36:54] And it was one of the dirtiest things I've ever seen a politician do. [00:36:58] And that says a lot. [00:37:00] So, yeah, Chad Bianco is disqualified, in my opinion. [00:37:03] Well, that's so for those who might have missed it, I had on Ven a couple months ago, and we talked about that particular story. [00:37:12] You just added this to the stage right now and bring it up. [00:37:16] Ven Miller was the guy. [00:37:17] He was at Coachella. [00:37:18] He was going to attend one of the Trump rallies. [00:37:20] He had guns in his vehicle for whatever the reason he was traveling between two cities. [00:37:23] Comes up to a checkpoint. [00:37:24] Tells him that he's got firearms in his vehicle, as is your God given right in these beautiful United States of America, and basically gets detained, arrested. [00:37:33] And the spin of the story ultimately turns out to be that he's a would be assassin who got foiled. [00:37:40] He was never charged with it, none of it ever stuck. [00:37:42] And I think basically all of the charges have since been dropped. [00:37:44] But Chad Bianco wanted his hero moment and depicted Vem Miller as a would be assassin of Donald Trump. [00:37:50] And so Vem has got his personal gripe, grievances against Chad Bianco. [00:37:54] The issue is then he's running against Hilton, who's got a decent chance. === Blaming Investigative Journalism (11:16) === [00:37:59] And if both of them are in there, then it sort of increases the likelihood of obviously splitting the vote on the Republican side to the point where then if you only have two Democrats, how does this have to work? [00:38:09] It's top two. [00:38:11] You could end up with, depending on how it gets split. [00:38:15] And so the idea would be Chad Bianco should either withdraw or be forced out so that the Republicans can vote for Hilton and let the Democrats split their vote among one, two, or two, three, or four Democrats. [00:38:26] Is that roughly the strategy idea? [00:38:28] Yeah. [00:38:29] So there's a big debate happening in right wing California politics right now of whether Chad Bianco should drop out or not. [00:38:35] Because a lot of people are saying, no, Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco can get one and two. [00:38:41] They'll have two Republicans to choose from. [00:38:43] And I'm saying there's zero possibility of that happening. [00:38:47] First of all, a lot of people don't show up to vote in the primaries, they only vote in the general election. [00:38:53] And California has about 30% Republicans, and then 15 to 20% are third party and independent. [00:39:03] You're not, if Chad Bianco and Steve Hilton, even if they get all of the third party and all of the independent vote, they're still going to split that. [00:39:13] And I think if Chad Bianco stays in the race, you're going to have two Democrats to choose from. [00:39:18] It's not going to be the other way around. [00:39:21] I just think logistically or mathematically, even if California is actually 40% Republican, there's still no realm of the universe where if it's, it would have to be a blowout. [00:39:30] You never get one and two because it's just mathematically seems impossible. [00:39:34] And then you just risk having a split where if you get a blowout on the Democrat side, you have to do the math as to what would be required for them to have one, two. [00:39:43] Okay, I mean, that's interesting. [00:39:44] And so among the Democrat candidates, it's bad and worse. [00:39:49] It's bad and worst. [00:39:50] I mean, the best of the worst, in my opinion, is Matt Mahan, mayor of San Jose. [00:39:56] He's done, you know, he's had sort of like an ongoing feud with Gavin Newsom because he speaks out against Gavin Newsom's homeless policies. [00:40:05] So it's kind of interesting. [00:40:07] But, you know, he is like a climate fanatic and sanctuary states guy. [00:40:14] So I'm not a huge fan of him. [00:40:16] But, well, he's not a terrible guy. [00:40:18] You know, he actually seems like somebody. [00:40:20] That wants to improve California. [00:40:24] He just has bad ideas, if you ask me. [00:40:28] Yeah. [00:40:29] That sounds like Gavin Newsom. [00:40:31] I don't know if he ever wanted to fix California, but certainly didn't do it. [00:40:35] All right. [00:40:35] So that's the state. [00:40:37] When are the primaries? [00:40:39] Coming up in about a month. [00:40:40] I don't remember the exact date. [00:40:42] And how active is the discussion about Chad Bianco withdrawing or being forced out by some scandal that pops up between now and election day? [00:40:51] I don't think any scandal will pop up, but a lot of people are saying he should drop out because his so Steve Hilton's polling numbers seem to keep getting better and Bianco's are sort of getting slightly worse depending on which poll you look at. [00:41:04] And yeah, Chad Bianco's just bad, man. [00:41:08] He's bad on California sanctuary state policies. [00:41:10] And the whole thing was Van Miller, and then you got the BLM knee lift thing. [00:41:15] There's the pictures or videos of him taking a knee at the BLM riots. [00:41:19] I mean, he runs under an R, and then my understanding is basically he's a Democrat activist at that if you're taking a knee at BLM protests. [00:41:29] I mean, I wouldn't call him a Democrat guy. [00:41:32] He just sort of, he'll roll over if he's pushed too hard. [00:41:36] He proved that during the BLM stuff. [00:41:38] But he is pretty good on 2A. [00:41:43] He's not a climate fanatic. [00:41:45] These are some of the hugest issues in California. [00:41:48] Well, from a right wing standpoint, California's 2A laws are absolutely insane concealed carry stuff, magazine restrictions. [00:41:59] If I showed you my. [00:41:59] Well, no, we follow a lot of the legislation that they try to pass through in terms of magazine restrictions. [00:42:07] I think, what do they call them? [00:42:08] High capacity magazines. [00:42:09] We've been following a lot of these cases. [00:42:10] And yeah, it's nuts California, New York, I say Michigan, maybe to a lesser degree. [00:42:15] But then the question is, you know, how, not that he's not good on 2A, but he's good on also framing people who exercise their 2A rights. [00:42:22] Right. [00:42:24] Back to the Vem Miller thing. [00:42:26] So, Vem Miller was, he didn't come to California to go to the Coachella rally. [00:42:30] He was actually here doing investigative journalism about ballot harvesting. [00:42:35] He was doing some investigation and he was following trucks that were currying ballots and he was going into some sketchy areas and being a Nevada citizen, I believe he has a CCW as well. [00:42:49] He, He had firearms in his trunk that were locked in a case. [00:42:53] And, like, he wasn't like bringing guns over the border or anything like that. [00:42:58] While he was here, he got asked from his buddies, Hey, we got press passes to the Trump rally at Coachella. [00:43:04] Do you want to go? [00:43:05] He was like, Yeah, hell yeah. [00:43:06] And he drives there and he pulls up to a sheriff and says, Hey, I just want to be fully transparent. [00:43:14] I have firearms in my trunk. [00:43:16] Do you want me to leave my vehicle in a particular place? [00:43:18] I can leave my keys with you. [00:43:20] Like, He outed himself. [00:43:22] It wasn't like he was trying to sneak firearms into the. [00:43:25] It was so dirty what they did to him. [00:43:27] Well, it was dirty. [00:43:28] It was in the wake of the two prior failed assassination attempts, and everybody wants to be a hero and foil the next one. [00:43:33] And that's exactly what it was. [00:43:35] And it ended up with nothing. [00:43:37] But yeah, if that's not a scandal that's disqualifying, I mean, short of some sex scandal coming up, which I'm not sure that Chad's the likely candidate for, we'll be following that. [00:43:49] The other news that's coming out of California is the Nick Shirley. [00:43:52] Uh, what do they call it? [00:43:54] The Nick Shirley Act or the Block Nick Shirley Act? [00:43:57] Yeah, let me bring this up. [00:43:59] I mean, it's also phenomenal to see what's going on. [00:44:01] Nick Shirley is now in California, uh, exposing. [00:44:05] I say exposing, I don't fault Nick Shirley for what he does. [00:44:08] He puts it what's on blast, what's already sort of been reported or disclosed, but you know, that's good marketing and you can't blame him for doing it. [00:44:16] Uh, but the California, it seems that they want to kind of blame him for doing it or at least pass some legislation to make it basically illegal to do investigative journalism. [00:44:23] And this is coming out of. [00:44:25] Fox News, and I know you covered this. [00:44:26] Nick Shirley confronts California Democrats over the Stop Nick Shirley Act, pressing on First Amendment rights. [00:44:32] Let's just get the idea of this. [00:44:33] California lawmakers were confronted at the state capitol in Sacramento as independent journalist Nick Shirley filmed video published this week questioning Assembly Bill 2624, a proposal California Republicans have dubbed the Stop Nick Shirley Act during interviews with Democrat and Republican legislators. [00:44:48] If the bill were to get passed instead of going after the fraudsters, they're trying to make it criminal to go after the people that are committing the fraud. [00:44:56] The essence of the act, from what I understand, it's kind of still new news. [00:45:01] Basically, they want to grant sort of enhanced privacy rights or make it impermissible for Nick to do investigative journalism on unwilling participants by confronting them with undercover cameras or cameras? [00:45:13] Well, not just Nick, any independent journalist. [00:45:15] And Katie Grimes with the California Globe, she's done a lot of good reporting on this. [00:45:20] But what makes this extra interesting is this bill was created by Mia Bonta. [00:45:26] Who is Rob Bonta's wife, Rob Bonta, the Attorney General of California? [00:45:31] So it's ironic because Nick Shirley just did a bunch of investigative journalism into the hospice fraud, which I should say that there's California reporters like Jennifer Van Lahr, Katie Grimes of the California Globe, who've been uncovering this stuff for years already. [00:45:49] It's just Nick Shirley got a lot of Nick Shirley and what's his name? [00:45:56] Nothing is it the same guy that he did Minnesota with? [00:45:59] Uh, no, no. [00:46:01] Um, I can't believe I'm blanking on his name right now. [00:46:04] Um, another guy they put a I can't believe I'm blanking on his name. [00:46:08] You know who I'm talking about. [00:46:09] Uh, I'll get it in a second, but it's uh, hold on. [00:46:14] The chat might get this. [00:46:16] Let's just see here. [00:46:16] Nick Shirley, anyone in the chat gonna do it? [00:46:19] You're referring to Sean? [00:46:20] No, he's not associated with it. [00:46:22] Shirley, um, no, geez, how am I blanking on his name right now? [00:46:26] Um, cute, uh, Cam Higby? [00:46:33] No, I'm not Cam Higby. [00:46:34] I'm just reading names as they come up in the chat. [00:46:36] Let me go to locals. [00:46:37] They might have already gotten this one. [00:46:39] I can't believe I'm blanking on his name right now. [00:46:42] The harder, the more we focus on it. [00:46:43] Tyler Oliveira? [00:46:45] Lang? [00:46:45] No, the white Irish, not Irish, she got an Irish last name. [00:46:52] He had his own investigative journalism. [00:46:56] O'Keeffe, James O'Keeffe. [00:46:57] Thank you. [00:46:58] Oh my goodness. [00:46:59] I'm thinking of Jake Lang and Sean Murphy. [00:47:01] Okay, so. [00:47:02] They bought, yeah. [00:47:04] How can I forget James O'Keeffe? [00:47:05] You should hang your head in shame, good sir. [00:47:07] It was, yeah, I know. [00:47:08] I apologize. [00:47:10] Thank you, chat. [00:47:11] Yeah, so they brought a lot of attention to this, all the different, the hospice fraud, the homeless industrial complex fraud that's going on here in California. [00:47:21] And Katie Grimes, Jennifer Van Lahr with Red Estate Media, they've been reporting on this for years, but. [00:47:28] Once Nick Shirley brought all these eyes to it, then all of a sudden Rob Monta comes out and says, Oh, we're actually doing this huge investigation into the hospice fraud. [00:47:37] And it wasn't until Nick Shirley did this. [00:47:39] And then Rob Monta's wife introduced legislation to make it so independent journalists have more difficulty, or they're essentially threatened with lawsuits or fines if they decide to go and investigate these. [00:47:52] For people that aren't aware, they set up these hospice centers, 20 of them in a single building, and then you go there and the offices are empty. [00:48:02] They're essentially shell corporations, and they get taxpayer funding from it. [00:48:07] It's very similar to what's happening with the Homeless Industrial Complex NGOs. [00:48:10] You get taxpayer funding to provide a service, and that service is supposed to help end homelessness, but your revenue depends on the homeless problem existing, so you have no incentive to actually end homelessness. [00:48:23] And there are all sorts of different things in California. [00:48:25] The California fraud would dwarf whatever is happening in Minnesota. [00:48:32] In Minnesota, they're basically taking either state or federal grants, a mix of both in Minnesota for daycares that are based on enrollment and not actual attendance. [00:48:42] And in California, my understanding is what they're doing is basically getting federal subsidies for hospice care that's not being provided. [00:48:49] And what I understood is being like the timeframes of the people registering were typically hospice lasts three to six months, and they've had people that register that are there for years. [00:49:00] They just keep getting hospice care or whatever the subsidies are for patients that don't exist or that are not taking it. [00:49:07] And they have these shell companies, these empty offices that just keep collecting checks based on enrollment of what might be fake people or non existent people to begin with. === Misrepresenting Immigration Bills (06:06) === [00:49:15] The act, so, and again, this is new. [00:49:17] I mean, we have to see, it's always tough to keep up with the news, just have an idea as to what it is. [00:49:22] And yes, this is a grok summary. [00:49:25] Creates new privacy protections for designated immigration support service providers, employees, or volunteers. [00:49:31] Which is basically anything that assists in illegal immigration and their household members at facilities offering services like legal representation, advocacy, case management. [00:49:39] So, basically, protection for people participating in this immigration scheme. [00:49:47] Protections apply if the individuals face threats, harassment, or violence because of their work or affiliation with such facilities. [00:49:53] Key provisions include address confidentiality. [00:49:55] Eligible participants can apply with proof of threats within the prior year. [00:49:58] Love to see if those are self issued threats. [00:50:00] To use a substitute address provided by the Secretary of State, this keeps their real home address. [00:50:04] Uh, out of public records, mail it's amazing. [00:50:07] In the shadows of darkness, there goes democracy. [00:50:09] Prohibition on online posting is bans anyone from knowingly posting, displaying, or disclosing, or distributing on the internet the personal information or images of protected individuals or their co residents with the specific intent to incite third parties to bodily harm, threaten, yada yada. [00:50:26] Penalties, provisions, context, and controversy. [00:50:28] Well. [00:50:30] It's pretty wild and pretty transparent what they're trying to do. [00:50:33] And it's effectively what they do in Canada have these administrative tribunals adjudicating on cases where parties are not named, the judges are not named, and the orders are basically censored so that people don't know what the hell's going on, specifically in the transgender ideology field of law. [00:50:51] Bonta, so continue with the relationship between the person who proposed this piece of legislation and California politics. [00:50:58] Well, it's just Mia Bonta is an assemblywoman and. [00:51:02] I think she's assembly, not state senate. [00:51:04] But yeah, so it's like Rob Bonta doesn't want to investigate unless he's forced to because of public outrage. [00:51:11] And then he's like, hey, hey, wifey, can you maybe introduce a bill that would keep people from investigating these things that I don't want to investigate? [00:51:18] And Rob Bonta's been wrapped up in his own, he's been linked to certain scandals like the mayor out of Oakland, Sheng Tao. [00:51:26] She had this whole sort of pay to play operation going on. [00:51:31] And the guys that were the. [00:51:35] I can't remember the name of the brothers, but they had like a tiny homes manufacturing company that was receiving funding. [00:51:43] And apparently they were gathering, like they had their houses, they'd have parties and they had it wired for sound and video to get people into compromising situations. [00:51:53] Sound familiar? [00:51:55] And allegedly, Rob Bonta was caught on one of those videos. [00:51:59] That's allegedly, there hasn't been any proof of that. [00:52:02] But yeah, Rob Bonta is a shady character. [00:52:05] He doesn't go after. [00:52:07] Any of the things that are actually affecting Californians. [00:52:10] All he's doing, his only job is to protect the California deep state swamp apparatus. [00:52:17] I remember I had looked up his scandals. [00:52:21] Scrutiny 2025, campaign expenditure of nearly half a million dollars for private legal services was one. [00:52:28] That he was actually providing for the guys. [00:52:31] So it wasn't legal services for himself, it was legal services for the guys. [00:52:36] That were under investigation in attachment to the Shang Tao scandal. [00:52:41] And he said it as, oh, I'm actually having these lawyers investigating him. [00:52:46] But like it was, yeah, that's a whole other rabbit hole to go down. [00:52:52] Well, let's bring this one back up and we'll finish up with the law, at least. [00:52:55] It's a misrepresentation of the bill. [00:52:57] She says, legislation also drew scrutiny in Shirley's video because Assembly member Bonta is married to California Attorney General Bonta. [00:53:03] Shirley repeatedly framed that relationship as a potential conflict of interest. [00:53:06] While questioning lawmakers about whether the bill would make it harder to expose fraud involving taxpayer funded immigration services, I actually don't think this bill violates the First Amendment, Perez said when asked about actual concerns. [00:53:17] We have legislative counsel and legislative attorneys that we talk with about this constitutionally. [00:53:22] Oh, yeah, bullshit. [00:53:24] Shirley's video showed. [00:53:25] No, it's amazing. [00:53:28] The swamp protects itself. [00:53:29] And yeah, passing legislation that makes it more difficult to expose the fraud that her husband might be at the helm of either participating in or tolerating. [00:53:40] despite his best efforts to be charitable. [00:53:44] And it's also interesting how they throw in the services for illegal immigrants, too. [00:53:50] And it's talking about like legal services because, as you know, California is a sanctuary state. [00:53:55] And Tom Steyer, who's running for California governor, he just put out an article on Substack and he also posted it on X, where he wants to put ICE members in jail. [00:54:04] And he talks about how he wants to put the ICE members in jail who are trying to enforce immigration policy and then provide taxpayer funding for legal services for the illegal immigrants. [00:54:16] And it's not just people that are here legally. [00:54:18] Like California has a law that if you arrest an illegal immigrant for a horrific crime, robbery, rape, you know, horrible crimes, the law enforcement, local law enforcement agencies aren't allowed to call ICE and say, hey, we know this guy's here illegally. [00:54:39] We can detain him for you. [00:54:40] They're not allowed to cooperate with ICE at all. [00:54:44] By law, California passed a law that local law enforcement agencies are not. [00:54:48] Yeah. [00:54:48] No, I mean, that in my view is the actual definition of insurrection, where you're not only not cooperating with federal authorities for the enforcement of federal law, you're actively working against it. [00:54:59] And I appreciate state autonomy, state independence. [00:55:02] But that, I mean, as far as I go, that's the definition of insurrection, where you are actively participating in the violation of federal immigration law. [00:55:12] But that's the state of California. [00:55:15] Okay, so that's a good bow in all of the California stuff. [00:55:20] By the way, I'm not good at this. === Trusting Unnamed Sources (06:18) === [00:55:22] Remind everyone now watching where they can find you just in case I forget to do this later on. [00:55:26] And now that we've got the audience, what's your schedule? [00:55:30] What do you do? [00:55:30] And where do people find you? [00:55:32] I do a live stream every Sunday night at 6 o'clock on YouTube and Rumble. [00:55:36] That's our time. [00:55:38] Excuse me, sir. [00:55:40] I'm joking. [00:55:42] No, no, no. [00:55:42] Forget outside Pacific. [00:55:44] Oh, Pacific. [00:55:45] That's 9 o'clock. [00:55:46] That's too late. [00:55:47] I can't stay with that. [00:55:48] Oh, we'll have to raid into you. [00:55:50] We'll raid into you if you're on Rumble, obviously, right? [00:55:52] I do stream on Rumble. [00:55:54] I'm not as cool. [00:55:55] I need to do next week. [00:55:57] That'd be awesome. [00:55:58] I need to do better with my Rumble account. [00:56:00] I've been trying to build my YouTube account. [00:56:02] The show is called Cali Based. [00:56:03] I know it's a dorky name, but I'm stuck with it. [00:56:06] It's C A L I B A S E D, one word. [00:56:09] And I'm on X as well Santa Cruz Mountain Goat or you can just search my name, Michael Oxford. [00:56:16] We're doing one more thing here. [00:56:17] Have you been following the Kash Patel threatening to sue the Atlantic and actually, according to the news today, suing the Atlantic for a quarter of a billion dollars? [00:56:24] No, I haven't heard anything about this. [00:56:26] So, the Atlantic came out with a report the other day with anonymous sources to the effect that Kash Patel is behaving improperly, getting intoxicated, partying, yada, yada, yada, within the FBI. [00:56:39] He came out yesterday and said, I'm going to sue you guys. [00:56:42] And with your failure to give me any reasonable time to respond or whatever, actual malice will be easy to prove. [00:56:49] And dude, he actually sued, or at least, I mean, this is the breaking news of the day. [00:56:55] And I got to bring it up because, like, it's going to go one of two ways in this. [00:56:58] And, you know, it'll be either genius or, I would say, self sabotage is the word. [00:57:04] How do I find the window here? [00:57:05] Which one is it? [00:57:06] Ah, cripe. [00:57:07] Okay, hold on one second. [00:57:08] The window's back here. [00:57:08] Okay, here we go. [00:57:09] So it's going to go one of two ways. [00:57:12] My feeling is you sue. [00:57:13] He knows it's going to get dismissed. [00:57:14] He'll say, I tried, and no discovery because it gets dismissed at a preliminary stage under anti slap statutes or a motion to dismiss. [00:57:22] I want to see just one day somebody. [00:57:25] See, I'm not even going to make a motion to dismiss. [00:57:26] Let's go straight to discovery. [00:57:28] And we're not going to try to dismiss this at a preliminary stage. [00:57:30] But FBI Director Kash Patel sues The Atlantic, claiming false reporting about drinking absences. [00:57:36] The stuff on the internet also is so wild. [00:57:38] April 20th, FBI Director Kash Patel filed a defamation lawsuit against The Atlantic. [00:57:42] Full disclosure, I haven't seen the lawsuit yet in its text. [00:57:46] And its reporter, Sarah Fitzpatrick, following the publication of an article on Friday alleging the director had a drinking problem that could pose a threat to national security. [00:57:54] The magazine's story, initially titled Kash Patel's Erratic Behavior Could Cost Him His Job, cited more than two dozen anonymous sources expressing concern about Patel's conspicuous inebriation and unexplained absences and, quote, alarmed officials at the FBI and the Department of Justice. [00:58:10] The article was, the Atlantic subsequently, what is it? [00:58:13] The article, which the Atlantic subsequently titled The FBI Director is MIA, in its own online version, reported that during Patel's tenure, the FBI had to reschedule early meetings, quote, as a result of his alcohol fueled nights, end quote. [00:58:26] And that Patel quote is often a way or unreachable, delaying time sensitive decisions needed to advance investigations. [00:58:31] The Atlantic Story, White House Department of Justice Patel denied the allegations. [00:58:35] It included statements from the FBI attributed to Patel. [00:58:38] Print it, all false. [00:58:40] I'll see you in court. [00:58:40] Bring your checkbook. [00:58:41] The Atlantic Story is a lie. [00:58:43] So he sued for a quarter of a billion dollars. [00:58:46] And, you know, depending on who you follow online, let me bring this one out because I think Steve Baker put something up yesterday. [00:58:53] And it's so flipping hard to keep up with all of this. [00:58:58] Steve Baker, and I said Steve makes some decent points, but I want to bring up what it was. [00:59:04] How am I going to do this? [00:59:06] Oh, come on. [00:59:06] Where is it? [00:59:07] No, Hey, well, like, it's there are some rumors, rumors, unnamed sources, anonymous sources are anonymous sources. [00:59:16] But I think it was Kyle Seraphim said if there are, in fact, dozens or at least two dozen unnamed sources, are they all going to lie or are they going to come out and testify against Kash Patel if this gets there? [00:59:27] And I've long held that the FBI is looking to sabotage Kash Patel. [00:59:34] And if he's now filed this suit and if the Atlantic says we're going to not even try to get this dismissed, let's go to discovery. [00:59:41] It's going to be a wild embarrassment. [00:59:42] But what was the hold on here? [00:59:46] No, no, no. [00:59:48] Here we go. [00:59:48] This is it. [00:59:48] Okay, I got it right here. [00:59:50] This was you follow Steve Baker? [00:59:52] Yeah, he's doing the Lord's work with the Chase. [00:59:54] So, Steve Baker, it's a little bit long, but it's worth reading. [00:59:58] Steve Baker says, I'm just going to say it. [01:00:00] Without addressing the veracity of the Atlantic story or the trustworthiness of its roughly dozen unnamed FBI sources, I'm skeptical of unnamed sources all the time, full stop, regardless. [01:00:09] I'm stuck by the selective outrage from many pro FBI director cash apologists. [01:00:13] The same people who instantly dismissed the Atlantic report because it relied on unnamed sources were equally quick to accept as gospel the truth of CBS News story citing just three unnamed FBI sources who supposedly vouched for the existence of a video showing Shawnee Kirchhoff playing with her puppies. [01:00:29] This is the January 6th pipe bomber story. [01:00:32] You know who they are? [01:00:33] Yeti, yeti, yeti. [01:00:33] The Kirchhoff, okay, the puppy, he goes into this. [01:00:35] That's before we even get into the failed polygraph. [01:00:37] So, what's amazing, I didn't bring up the article again. [01:00:40] It's right here. [01:00:41] For goodness sake. [01:00:42] Okay, I'll get used to this in a bit. [01:00:45] It is amazing where people say, all right, unnamed sources, we don't trust it when it comes to Kash Patel or the allegations that he's parting, although there are a lot of other people saying similar things or hearing certain things and then sharing screenshots, take him for real or not. [01:01:00] But people say, I don't believe these unnamed sources here. [01:01:02] But when it comes to debunking Steve Baker's work on the January 6th Pipe Bomber, three unnamed sources from CBS News, everybody takes it as gospel. [01:01:10] So it's very interesting points in terms of who believes what when. [01:01:14] I didn't believe the unnamed sources then, I don't believe the unnamed sources now. [01:01:18] I just know that I've seen more corroborating testimonials from people who I do trust as relates to allegations of Kash Patel. [01:01:26] Plus, you got that photograph of him chugging the beer, which is like Homer's dancing in the Russian dance coming back to haunt him. [01:01:33] So he did it. [01:01:33] And we'll see where that one goes. [01:01:35] But now, what we're going to do, we didn't get into the dogs yet or the trail running yet. === Corroborating Testimonials (06:58) === [01:01:41] Sir, how many dogs do you have? [01:01:43] I have two, and I just got this Great Dane rescue four days ago. [01:01:48] So. [01:01:49] Are you doing the, what's it called when you temporarily shelter a dog? [01:01:54] Foster. [01:01:54] Foster. [01:01:55] Are you doing a foster with the Great Dane? [01:01:56] No, she's mine. [01:01:58] Okay, so you got three dogs now? [01:02:00] No, no, she's my second dog. [01:02:01] Okay, fine, fine, fine. [01:02:02] So you had three dogs. [01:02:03] I had three dogs. [01:02:05] My pit bull. [01:02:07] So, I have to give you the backstory. [01:02:08] I had two other dogs named Molly and Chiva, a lab great Dane mix, an all black lab great Dane mix, and a German Shepherd. [01:02:16] And when I adopted Scarlett, I got her when she was like the size of a potato. [01:02:20] That's my little pit bull. [01:02:21] She became obsessed with my lab great Dane mix named Molly. [01:02:25] And Molly passed away about a year and a half after I got Scarlett, and Scarlett was absolutely devastated. [01:02:31] And my friend runs a rescue in Southern California, and she knew Molly when I got her back in 2010. [01:02:39] And she was like, I just got an all black Great Dane, and her name's Molly, and you need to take her. [01:02:45] I was like, damn it. [01:02:46] And she sent me pictures, looks exactly like my old dog. [01:02:51] So I drove down to San Luis Obispo on Friday, brought Scarlett with me, and they immediately hit it off. [01:02:58] And that's fantastic. [01:02:59] Yeah. [01:03:00] Yeah. [01:03:00] Well, you do you trail run with the dogs? [01:03:03] Uh, not so much. [01:03:05] I tried to with Scarlett. [01:03:06] Scarlett's good for about five miles, but she's. [01:03:10] She's a chalky dog. [01:03:12] She's not very fast. [01:03:14] Okay, you still have a few more minutes. [01:03:16] We're going to do the tip questions and we'll do a QA or just get some questions over in locals. [01:03:20] You got another 20 some odd minutes? [01:03:22] I got all the time in the world. [01:03:23] Okay, booyah. [01:03:24] I'm going on with Dr. Drew at five o'clock. [01:03:26] I got to do a little bit more homework before then. [01:03:29] Man, I grew up listening to Dr. Drew and Loveline. [01:03:34] It's not just that I go on his show. [01:03:35] We're friends. [01:03:36] He's come over for barbecues. [01:03:37] I mean, I'm now friends with Dr. Drew and he's, again, like people want to hold. [01:03:42] Things against him that he positions, he had a while back. [01:03:44] He's a sincerely wonderful person who actually, I'm a bit of a hypochondriac neurotic. [01:03:49] And I text him, like, what's this thing on my back? [01:03:51] And he texts back within like five minutes. [01:03:53] He's amazing. [01:03:55] I love Dr. Drew. [01:03:57] Manny, get over here. [01:03:58] Come here. [01:03:59] He's not coming. [01:04:00] Is this your little smush face? [01:04:03] I got both of them. [01:04:04] Oh, wait. [01:04:05] Come say hello. [01:04:07] One, two, three. [01:04:09] Oh, my back. [01:04:09] I just pulled it. [01:04:10] Here, look. [01:04:10] So this is smush face. [01:04:13] And he's good for exactly like, 200 meters of running. [01:04:21] He's the cutest dog ever. [01:04:22] And I won't ignore the other one. [01:04:28] This is the blind Westie who I've summoned unwillingly from sleep. [01:04:33] I've been following this dog. [01:04:36] So I started watching your videos back in like 2017, 2018, like the car vlog stuff. [01:04:41] And I've been following you with your Westie since the OG days. [01:04:47] I'm going to tilt the mic down. [01:04:48] We can hear them fighting now. [01:04:49] Manny has found, he doesn't have chew toys, and Manny doesn't have his own tail. [01:04:53] So he seems to find Winston's tail to be a funny chew toy to play with. [01:04:57] Oh, no, it's back in the day. [01:04:58] Yeah, we had our. [01:05:00] Terrible experience with that French bulldog that we got from a corrupt breeder in Canada. [01:05:05] And that was a traumatizing experience. [01:05:06] But yeah, so we had, and Pudge, we had to put down before Christmas, and Winston was sitting around, you know, lamenting his own existence. [01:05:13] We had to find him a distraction. [01:05:15] Can't ignore Winston. [01:05:16] No, you can't. [01:05:17] I can't. [01:05:17] Winnie's the greatest dog ever, but I love the smushy face more than anything. [01:05:22] That's Manny. [01:05:23] Okay, so we're going to go raid redacted. [01:05:25] Remind everybody where you go. [01:05:48] I mean, they're a bit alarmist sometimes, but they're good at what they do. [01:05:52] And guys, you want to stop this? [01:05:55] We have the same catchphrase. [01:05:56] I didn't realize it. [01:05:58] What's their catchphrase? [01:06:00] It's talking about topics that make people uncomfortable. [01:06:04] Yes, I do that as well, but usually it's medical. [01:06:07] All right, bada bing, bada boom. [01:06:09] We've rated redacted. [01:06:10] We're going to go update our stuff here. [01:06:54] Georgia, I'm told, you know, even compared to Florida, it has a, that's not what I want to do, is it has a substantial advantage of being far more cost effective. [01:07:03] We had a good friend who moved from where we live in Florida to Georgia, and like cost of living is half as much, real estate is half as much. [01:07:12] I've heard the only but is Georgia. [01:07:14] And if you don't live in nice spots, there's some pretty rough spots in Georgia. [01:07:19] Sorry, that dog almost knocked something over. [01:07:21] He came from one of the best places in California, Orange County, which is a red county. [01:07:26] Yeah, that's Orange County. [01:07:27] I only know it from the movie or the documentary with Jack Black. [01:07:30] But it's beautiful. [01:07:31] You'd love it. [01:07:32] Chirps from the Box says, I live in the Bay and used to work in Santa Cruz. [01:07:36] I'm sorry for what your town has become. [01:07:38] God save us all, says Chirps from the Box. [01:07:41] F. Chaton says, Don't question the science. [01:07:43] Viva, this all started with the climate change lie. [01:07:45] Yep. [01:07:46] That is the blueprint for everything downstream since. [01:07:48] I think you could trace it back, Mutatis Mutatis, before the climate hoax. [01:07:55] I mean, that's what I believe it is. [01:07:57] But I'm trying to think of something else before climate. [01:07:59] I mean, I'm thinking like the AIDS epidemic is kind of also where it went. [01:08:03] I remember young, old enough to have lived through it, but I remember thinking like you can get AIDS from sitting on a toilet seat. [01:08:08] I hear a dog. [01:08:10] Yeah. [01:08:11] The swallow thing, I also suspect it is a firm warning to other Ds. [01:08:15] Look what we can do if we ever need to, says Veg Cons. [01:08:17] Absolutely, because they're all a bunch of degenerate sex fiends. [01:08:20] Not even just the Democrats. [01:08:22] All of these people, politicians are disgusting, power hungry, degenerate fiends. [01:08:27] Finn Boy Slick says American Gothish. [01:08:29] That's funny. [01:08:29] Let's go ahead and save that. [01:08:31] We got some good ones here. [01:08:32] Okay, a goth. [01:08:33] And it's short and wholesome, seems appropriate. [01:08:36] We're going to do that on the other side as we go now. [01:08:39] And.
