60 Minutes now is getting the redo.
So first it was the evening news anchor out.
That was the headline around this time yesterday.
And now we're learning, oh my gosh, they're going to like have to reinvent 60 Minutes.
I mean, is anybody ever going to watch that show?
I don't know.
I mean, you know.
They're struggling as it is, and the product has gotten worse and worse and worse.
But you know, Barry Weiss knows that.
That's why she was brought in by Larry Ellison's son, David, to try and remake the joint.
We have all of it today.
Plus, plus, oh gosh darn it, James Comer, he means business.
And you know what?
They are declaring all of those pardons, those auto pardons, null and void.
You heard me, null and void.
Did you hear me way over there in the cheap sheets?

As soon as next week, they're in that newsroom, 60 Minutes, apparently due for a reboot.
Could have told you that.
A while back, CBS News broadcaster, well, she's the new boss, I should say.
I guess she is one of their broadcasters now.
Barry Weiss.
Barry Weiss is out there making her changes and making her footprint, if you would known.
Barry Weiss is, I wouldn't exactly call her conservative, guys, because she actually just, in fairness to her, Well, I mean, maybe she's a bit conservative.
Anybody's conservative these days, given all that we have seen out of the media.
But she is what I would call fair.
Okay.
So they brought in somebody who's fair.
She left the New York Times because, you know, she had the audacity to really be fair.
And let's face it, nobody at the New York Times was or is, for that matter, fair, right?
Nobody at the New York Times even knew the first thing about fairness.
I think she got rid of the fairness.
And standards person there at CBS.
Rightly so.
Rightly so.
So now she's about to probably get rid of some people in 60 minutes.
And I'm guessing that maybe first on the list is the guy who told off all of his bosses and said, How dare you do this merger, right?
with Skydance.
And oh my gosh, boo hoo, I lost my friend Bill Owens, who was the producer who resigned in protest there after they had to say sorry to Donald Trump for re editing and re editing and re editing.
You admit that guy deserved whoever edited Kamala Harris's interview.
That's what I would call.
Emmy Award winning for different reasons, all right?
But that's talent, right?
Making her word salad sound like anything.
So they were supposed to apologize.
They had to pay this massive fee and he couldn't stand it.
So he resigned.
He resigned.
And then Scott Pelly went on the air and said, Hey, you know, I'm really unhappy with all this.
So that seems kind of interesting to me.
Now they're going to, you know, have some reshuffling of the deck.
They're going to get Nora, likely, probably in some kind of different position.
Maybe she goes over to the, THE Evening NEWS, since they lost John Dickerson.
Maybe she goes over to Morning, since they're about to lose Oh, The Bestie, The Bestie Of One, Um Oprah.
I mean, how did she get that job anyway?
I don't think it was pure talent anyway.
Gail King, who has done nothing for the ratings but apparently cost them a pretty penny we talked about this a little bit yesterday.
She is likely on the chopping block as well.
13 to 15 million dollars a year.
I mean, my goodness gracious right, that's a lot of money for somebody like Gail King.
If you can bring in the ratings, so be it.
If you can't, then I think you're going to have a problem.
And now you look at 60 Minutes in The hot seat, star anchors allegedly probably getting the axe.
I mean, I I don't know if any of them are that expensive, but if they are they might have something to worry about.
And Scott Belly, I mean, given that you kind of came out and blasted, all your bosses live on television.
I'm guessing you know you may not have a lot of friends in the new management team.
Just saying you know, I mean hey you're, you probably do for retirement anyway.
So does it really matter.
No no, just just go retire happily ever after.
And uh, we'll remember you well anyway um, she's sort of the you know, new young Bludge, 41 years old, which means she is like a little baby compared to the team.
At 60 minutes, I mean, I think Leslie Stahl's around 87 um, and Leslie Stahl's still, you know, alive and kicking and and you know, she's the one that said to Donald Trump, well, we can't verify any of this stuff that you're saying.
You know, on the Hunter Biden laptop, we're told it's.
It's just Russian misinformation.
And remember that whole scene when he's fighting with her.
I do think that maybe Barry has a little bit of a soft spot for Leslie Stahl, but nonetheless, there's going to be lots of people who are going to see a different sort of portfolio for themselves in the future.
Here's like the whole cast.
One of the weird things about this network, and I'm telling you, this is a thing of the past, because in this environment today, who are you guys tuning in for?
I think it's me, right?
And I appreciate it and I love it and thank you for that.
But it's so personality driven.
Whereas this old network news style is not driven by personality at all.
It's driven entirely by the network.
So CBS News says, 60 Minutes says, and it's all about the brand.
And look at how small those faces are.
When they take a group photo of all their hosts and their anchors, you can barely even see them.
I mean, I'm seeing Leslie's legs better than I'm seeing anybody's face in that shot.
Right.
So that's part of the problem.
You need to actually have some personality and need to actually brand your individuals because they're all that matter.
The CBS News brand.
I'm sorry.
Been there, done that.
Right?
Like everybody's like, okay, it kind of came and went.
And people are tuning into individuals now.
It's the individuals that actually even power the networks.
I mean, Rachel Maddow, lover, hater, I really, she's not my type.
What can I say?
Not my type.
Anyway, Rachel Maddow, however, is the brand, right, of MSNBC.
So a lot of times people may not even know that they're watching MSNBC.
They know that they watch Rachel or they watch Joe and Mika in the morning.
Or they watch, well, they used to watch Tucker Carlson on Fox, and hopefully me.
You know, you can catch me in the commercial break.
I know, I know, I know.
I was on the Redheaded Step Channel Network, Fox Business Network, on opposite Tucker Carlson at 8 p.m.
Lovely timing, right?
But anyway, I would say that you tune into Jesse.
Maybe you tune into Fox.
Fox probably has a better shot at being a brand that people love and adore more than the likes of CBS or ABC or ABC.
So they're going to redo it.
NBC.
There's some talk that maybe the producer could be out of 60 Minutes, but let's face it, they kind of need her because the other guy, he up and quit, right?
And she apparently has acknowledged that they get some challenges there.
So good for her.
And I think that Barry's willing to give people the time of day.
But here it is, per the New York Post, everyone, for what it's worth, among Weiss's rumored targets, according to insiders, is Scott Pelly.
That's not that hard to figure out.
Just saying.
I mean, given that he was the one that went on television and blasted the fact that his network was trying to do a deal with Skydance.
The anchor slammed.
They reference it.
CBS is then owned Paramount in an on-air tirade this summer for inking a $16 million settlement with President Trump over allegations that 60 Minutes deceptively edited a Kamala.

Forgive me.
She'd be very offended, right?
Remember when we went through the whole thing?

I was a little surprised by this.
I don't know how much of it was Bill that did that interviewing.
Don't forget, you get a lot of producers behind the scenes that may have been involved as well.
But he's kind of just sort of there.
Kind of like everybody at CBS.
They're just kind of there.
They don't really catch your imagination.
They don't really spark your interest.
They're just there.
And they're like furniture.
So like Bill Whitaker, he's part of the furniture.

I mean, I think they get a few people with some pizzazz.
Sharon Alfonsi happens to be very good.
She's from Mississippi originally, and she lives in Texas.
So you know she's got to be good, right?
There's some personality there somewhere.
And they have a few others.
But don't forget, in this kind of medium, you're not allowed to be you.
You have to live within the confines of the CBS News 60 Minutes script or within the confines of the CBS Evening News Minute 10 script.
And so that's, again, part of the problem that's plaguing all of these industries.
And what they would be smart to do is make a real push into streaming.
And I think that's what Barry's going to try and push for.
for okay so she is trying to make sure that they keep their news integrity by being less biased but simultaneously i'm just gonna say it do you really want to sit around and watch the very perfectly non-biased news maybe you actually want some personality maybe the better idea is to bring in the scott jennings who apparently she's looking at versus versus say, oh, what's the guy, you know, the one that coined it's the economy stupid?

Like that might actually be entertaining television that we would watch in a streaming version of the CBS property.
Now, I know she gets this.
And I'm just thinking like a producer here.
I need, I want, I crave personality.

I'm sorry, but, you know, everybody's trying to be little Miss Perfect like Nora O'Donnell, who may actually wind up back in the evening news slot.
Or in the morning shot slot.
Nothing against her, but do we know the real Nora?
She's actually like a bubbly, fun person, but that does not come through.
It doesn't come through because you get this very formal prompter driven, producer driven shop and that's all got to change.
I would see better things on cable any day of the week than I see on network television.
I mean, for goodness sakes, go over to ABC.
I mean David who reads the teleprompter over there.
He's like trying to be the James Bond of NEWS Again, super nice guy.
I actually like him, but I've been disappointed with some of the coverage, shall we just say, of our president among all of my old news colleagues.
But, you know, it's almost like more important what his hair looks like than what the news is.
I'm just saying, all right?
You know, I don't know what they're going to do.
I think they've got an upward battle to fight.
And until they kind of figure out that that game has already been played, they're going to continue to struggle.
I want to turn to a more serious story right now.
This really horrible.
Horrible news coming to us from the FBI.
The FBI has uncovered, I'm going to change the lower third because we're going to get to the Illinois governor.
The Illinois governor, by the way, is sort of making light of it.
But the Bondi plot uncovered by the FBI is where I wanted to go because Pam Bondi, the head of the DOJ, apparently had a hit on her by somebody on TikTok.
And a lot of Democrats are trying to downplay this.
Like, I'm sorry, like, look, you know.
I was one of the first people to put Charlie Kirk on the air 10 years ago.
He was a regular guest on my show.

I'm sorry, but like you guys have to come to grips with what's going on.
And for whatever reason, You know, the J.B. Pritzker's of the world and the MSNBC correspondents of the world seem to think that there's absolutely no threat against Republicans.
I'm here to tell you, you are so dead wrong.

And another thread of political violence in America the FBI making an arrest in a chilling murder for hire plot targeting Attorney General Pam Bondi.
We are learning brand new details at this hour.

In Washington, the 29 year old Minnesota man is accused of putting out a $45,000 hit on the attorney general.
It all started on TikTok when a post with the bounty started going viral before setting off a swift federal investigation.
And the suspect's rap sheet is long, and his online activity reveals ties to anarchist symbolism and anti government literature.
I'm Justice Correspondent David Spunt live here in Washington.
What else are we learning, David, about the suspect?
Well, John, he is charged with threatening Attorney General Bondi in a TikTok post.
According to authorities in this affidavit that we just saw a couple of hours ago, unsealed recently, he allegedly offered a $45,000 bounty in the Post, there's a photo, and this was on TikTok a photo of the attorney general with a sniper red dot, and it reads Wanted Pam Bondi reward $45,000 dead or alive, preferably dead.
That's a quote.
He is in custody.
Additionally, his TikTok page had anarchist symbols, according to the affidavit filed.
The affidavit reads Additionally, the suspect user's TikTok page had a link to an anarchist FAQ book pinned to his page.
According to open source research, as well as based on your affiance training and experience, anarchism.
Is a political philosophy and movement that seeks to abolish all institutions that perpetuate authority, coercion, or hierarchy, primarily targeting the state and capitalism.
Now, FBI agents John and Sander from Detroit, Michigan received a tip from someone who was on TikTok, noticed the post in their feed, then reported this post.
The FBI worked with Google, Comcast, and TikTok to find this guy.
Google helped with IP logins, IP locations.
They also were able to find his email.
Now, according to the affidavit, he has a multi state criminal history, as you mentioned, including a 2022 felony stalking and domestic assault misdemeanor charge.
We reached out to the Justice Department.
So far, we're being told no comment.
Okay.
Well, you know, these things are tough, right?
If you're Pam Bondi, you don't necessarily want this blasted everywhere because the worry in these sorts of situations is the threat of copycat attacks, et cetera.
A lot of people, I know a lot of people who are conservatives that have had threats against them and I can tell you the most sort of traditional course is not to make a big stink about it because you don't actually want to invite more potential copycats.

They're out there and they think that it's like okay at times to engage in something that would be perceived as violent.

I mean, his family must really have deep pockets.
Well, we know they do.

Telling an MSNBC host, there's no Antifa.
There's like no movement against Trump whatsoever.
Like she's been going with this for days, by the way.

You know, and again, no one's really defined what that is.
It's just some mythical thing out there that he thinks anybody that's opposed to him belongs to.

I mean, we don't have to go through it all today, but you know that a lot of my reporting I've done has cited some of the organizations that have been funding some of the groups that are alleged to be sort of encouraging this discord online, encouraging people to go down a rabbit hole, such as the rabbit hole that Tyler Robinson allegedly went down, which led him to commit allegedly that heinous act that wound up taking Charlie Kirk's life.
You understand, like, this is actually serious stuff.
And when they blow it off and just pretend it's a boogeyman, I mean, for goodness sakes. the president of the United States of America while running as the Republican candidate was nearly taken out by an, you know, who knows?

But first, Consider that they're spending all this money trying to make MAGA the bad guy.
And what do you see in the newest polls?
I mean, this had CNN like on its heels.
You watch one of the anchors as the poll guy, Harry, is starting to explain all this.
He does a really good job.
And you see the look on the anchor.
He's kind of got his back to the camera.
He's like, I can't believe this.
I can't believe this.
Believe it, baby!
It hasn't.
If anything, it's been helped a little bit.
Take a look here the shift in net popularity versus pre shutdown.
When we're looking at the Republican Party overall, that brand actually up two points.
That's within the margin of error, but clearly it hasn't dropped.
Come over to this side of the screen.
Look at the net approval ratings for Republicans in Congress.
It's actually up five points since pre shutdown.
So what we're seeing here is the Republican brand in Congress has actually improved somewhat compared to where we were.
pre-shutdown despite the fact that Republicans control.
And that's the math that John Thune and Mike Johnson are looking at is, hey, why should we give an electorally speaking when our brand has actually improved a little bit?
Now, we say their position is getting better.
With whom?
Yeah, okay, with whom?
So I think it's two groups that it's so important to keep an eye out on.
All right, change in the Republican Congress's net approval rate.
Okay, I'm going to jump in and just say, uh-huh, independence versus pre-shutdown.
It's rallying the base for sure.
Look at this, the net approval rating up 12 points versus pre-shutdown.
But it's not just with the base.
It's also with the middle of the electorate.
Look at this.
Among independents.
It's up eight points as well.
So we've got a situation here where Republicans with this shutdown are actually rallying their base, but it's also something that's not hurting them with the folks in the middle.
If anything, it's helping them with folks in the middle.
And this is the type of math that if you're Republicans, you like to see, right?
Because something could rally the base, but alienate those in the middle, or something could rally those in the middle, but alienate the base.
But the truth is, we're not seeing that.
What we're seeing is the Republican brand has actually gotten better among independents, and it's also gotten better among Republicans as well, that Republican brand when it comes to those in Congress.
So again, what's the electoral reason that Republicans were given at this point?
And Democrats.

I mean, there was an email in the New York Times that we know about where he apparently signed off on all this stuff.
Let me tell you, Anthony Burnell, he was the chief of staff to one Dr. Jill Biden.

And Burnell had a lot of access to Jill and thus access to whatever people were deciding to do.
On top of which, this autopen thing was really bizarre.
I mean, nobody's ever done that before in history.
You don't just like blank.
You know, check a whole slew of people, people that haven't even come under indictment for anything.
I mean, think of how bizarre and crazy that is.
Um, the Comer was on who runs the House investigative, um, the House uh committee that came out with the report here.
Um, the oversight committee, forgive me.
He actually went on with our friend Benny Johnson, and I want to share with you a clip from the show earlier today where he laid this out.
Really quickly, here we have actually that New York Times article that says specifically.
That Jeff Zyntz replied all and says, I approve of the pardons.
Well, that's not in the Constitution, brother.
So, does this mean that Dr. Fauci, this is specifically about the Fauci pardon, the ream of pardons that were rolled out, but the Fauci pardon?
So, you are saying declaratively that we will stand up in court and stand up in any trial before any court in the land, including the Supreme Court, that Dr. Fauci's pardon is null and void.

I mean, look, at the end of the day, you have to have a formal process for the AutoPen.
And, you know, they're trying to say, well, some of these were approved verbally.
Some of these we had a memo.
There's emails from the Biden Department of Justice, the Merrick Garland Department of Justice, to the Biden inner circle saying, you need to be careful using the AutoPen so much on legal documents.
And then there are other emails.
Was the president even aware that this particular person was pardoned?
And I mean, so his own Department of Justice is concerned that number one, there's excessive unauthorized use of the auto pen.
And number two, that the President of the United States has no clue who's being pardoned by his unnamed staffers that are using the auto pen.
And when Donald Trump says, It was the auto pen presidency.
What we saw in the last three months from the time of the debate, the disastrous debate when Joe Biden had to drop out until the moment of the transfer of power from Biden to Trump, that would be a pretty accurate statement that it was the auto pen presidency.
Wow.
Okay.
So if you have an auto pen presidency, you really don't have anybody in charge.
You don't have a president of the United States of America, you just have certain factions.
That are able to get whatever pet project they want through.
In this case, you know, thousands of Auto Pen pardons it.
Let me just like point to the elephant in the room, the real fear.
The real fear is, were these pardons for sale or were there some kickbacks?
I mean just exactly what went on.
And and you know, you can't live in a world where you just get on a list because you pay a price or you know someone and then you get this like automatic pardon.
I mean, it's actually really and truly bizarre.
And Why was there a doctor there who was not actually telling us the severity of Biden's decline?
I mean, it's pretty obvious, the mental decline.
For goodness sakes, I mean, remember when they were going to prosecute him for the FBI?
The FBI had found the documents that were next to his Corvette in his garage, and he had taken these, knowingly taken these, and they were classified.
And sure, they went after Donald Trump with all they had.
And then they made the conclusion, I think it was Robert Hur, right, who said, well, you know.
He's not going to be able to stand up in front of a jury and actually deliver any kind of sensible message.
Why?
because he was that deteriorated by that point.
And so they never moved forward with charges because he was so gonzo.
Okay.
So I don't know.
You can sit there and try and tell us KJP or Jake Tapper back in the day that he had it going on, but like the rest of the world saw what was what.
So what was going on with the doctor?
For goodness sakes.
Why would you have a White House doctor that's not admitting the truth to anyone?

And you know what?

He kept taking the fifth and the fifth and the fifth.
And we don't need to watch it again, but you can see he's citing his.
client doctor privilege relationship.
And while I have the utmost respect for that, like at some point, what about the nation?
Like, doesn't the nation matter?
I mean, I'm all about, you know, your privacy with your doctor, but I'm sorry, you're the president of the United States of America.
And if you're declining mentally, or if you are at risk for a kind of cancer that I'm sorry, you're like, okay, I'm too old to get checked for this, but you know what?
You're the president of the United States of America.
You should be checked for it.
And so if he's like not checking him.
He's obviously a total tool, right?
He's obviously not very good at his job.
And why do we have a doctor like that, treating the President of the United States of America?
And if he is checking him and then he's lying about it, well, then that's a whole other can of worms.
So this guy is now in serious trouble.
And James Comer came out today and he is urging the D.C. Board of Medicine to investigate Kevin O'Connor and say, what the heck were you doing?
Because he believes that he was involved somehow in this so-called coordinated decline or cover-up, rather, not the decline, but the cover-up.
of the actual decline.
He's recommended the ex-White House doctor be disciplined according to the New York Post, sanctioned, or even lose his medical license as a result.
This is really, I mean, this is sort of wild stuff.
We've never been quite in this territory before.
It is what you call uncharted territory.
And all I can say is like America's relieved.
America's relieved to actually have somebody who's competent back in charge.

As we talk about the mental decline, my goodness, this doctor who is probably going to lose his license as a result of the alleged cover up of the whole mental decline for Joe Biden.
I got a kick out of this one today.
There's brand new video just released.
Just released of the guy who was the campaign manager for one Joe Biden.
Okay, so this guy got paid a ton of money, ton of money.
He got $4 million, which, like, to run a campaign, you know, I think it's a big deal to run a campaign.
And I actually have no problem paying people what they're worth.
But in this case, it's like, wait a second, you got paid $4 million and he lost.
And then Kamala lost, right?
Like, the whole thing was like a big loss.
So I think a lot of people are like, hmm.
And he was going to get an additional $4 million bonus.
This is a little bit unusual and unbearable.
Orthodox again.
I, as a free market capitalist, don't necessarily have a problem with it.
If you deliver right, you should get a bonus.
Well, he was going to get a four million dollar bonus if Biden won again, but here they are asking about it in the testimony.

Japan's going to be investing $550 billion into the United States and It's an amazing thing, and they're happy, and they're going to love it.
It's going to be really good.

But building up an allied industrial base.
And one of the things that makes me so happy is they'll be taking some of our product.
Japan has, I don't think I'm saying anything that's very secret, they've been typically slightly closed as a country.
It was not easy to come in, but they're taking some of our cars and some of our, a lot of our, They're a different thing, rice, which is actually a big deal because, as you know, they wouldn't do that.
And they're taking corn and they're taking the Ford 150 right here, the big thing, some of our cars.
So it's really a great thing.
It's going to be great for them.
It's going to be great for everybody.
