Trish Regan Explains WHAT Motivated Charlie Kirk’s Assassin as the Nation Struggles to Heal

Trish Regan reports that Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old suspect in Charlie Kirk's assassination, admitted to his family before turning himself in, attributing the motive to hate fueled by "woke academia" and online radicalization. She condemns reactions from Ilhan Omar, Oxford Union president Georgie Poo, and Senator Chris Murphy while defending Kirk as a free speech advocate who warned of Antifa threats. Regan criticizes Elon Musk's rhetoric regarding racial terms and MSNBC's firing of Matt Dowd for insensitive comments, ultimately calling for an end to political violence and urging unity against perceived left-wing aggression. Motive Behind The Shooting 00:14:09
Oh, they got him.
They got him after all.
I mean, it only took, what about a day and a half or so here.
The killer of Charlie Kirk is now in custody.
I should say suspected killer, but the guy admitted it to his family, to his pastor.
His own father turned him in.
Authorities now have custody of this 22-year-old.
Oh, I have a lot of words I could say.
A lot.
I'm angry.
I'm sad.
You've seen it.
I'm angry.
I'm frustrated with where our society is.
And I'm concerned about the direction we're heading in, where you got 22-year-old Yahoos that get radicalized online to project such hate against Donald Trump, against the MAGA movement.
Why?
Oh, I'll tell you why.
You know why?
Because of the media, and the media is doubling down, doing their same old, same old, trying to pretend they're putting on a good face, but they didn't.
Oh, just look at what Ilhan Omar said.
Just look at what this idiot that runs the Debating Chapter at Oxford had to say in the moments after Charlie was shot.
Just look at what the fired CNN anchor who's now over on a network that tries to pretend they're middle of the road, a NEWS Nation thing that no one watches.
I am sorry, you know I have friends over there, but I am sorry, i'm sick of these people.
They are the reason we are all now at risk.
It's got to stop.
I mean, Bernie Sanders actually coming out and saying the right thing.
For goodness sakes.
Welcome to the program, everyone.
I am Trish Regan.
This is the Trish Regan Show.
I hope you subscribe.
I hope you share.
I hope you comment.
And I hope you are as fired up as I am right now.
Because we, as a nation, as Americans, we deserve so much more.
Our freedom of speech is everything.
That is what charlie embraced and honored through respectful debate.
But the people he was debating, they weren't respectful.
In fact, you're going to find that out quite shortly.
But first, let me get to the president of the United States who was on Fox Friends this morning saying, you know what, someone close to him turned out to be his own dad, turned him in.
I'll tell you what, this kid came from a good family.
A good family.
He had a pastor that worked with the father to turn him in.
In other words, these are people with good values.
So where did their kid go wrong?
I'll tell you.
With woke academia that has converted our good, hardworking, honest young Americans into the extremists that they want.
Watch the president.
When I heard it, I was in the midst of building a great, for 150 years, they've wanted a ballroom at the White House, right?
They don't have a ballroom, they have to use tents on the lawn for President Xi when he comes over.
If it rains, it's a wipeout.
And so I was with the architects and with design.
It's going to be incredible.
And they came in, they said, Charlie Kirk is dead.
I didn't know what they meant.
I said, what do you mean, dead?
Charlie Kirk was shot.
And they thought he was dead because it was so horrific, you know.
And they said, dead?
You got it.
And it was like, I left these, I just told these people, get out, just go.
You got it.
This is the worst thing.
like this was so bad for our country.
Some of you were with me when we got that news.
When President Trump announced that Charlie Kirk had died, I kind of lost it right here.
You know what?
We're all human.
I'm sitting here hosting a show, but you know, this isn't the old days.
I'm not reading a teleprompter.
This is me.
This is just raw.
This is, you're going to get, you're going to get what you're going to get.
And when I'm upset, you're going to know about it.
So I started crying and I may cry again today.
I mean, I'll tell you, it's been a rough week.
I knew this guy going back some 10 years.
I mean, when he was still a kid and I was like, wow, he's good.
Somebody had booked him on the show and I said to the producers, get him back, get him back again and again.
You know why?
I'm a good judge of talent and that kid had talent.
I mean, a ton of talent.
He could have been the next president of the United States.
Well, once he was old enough, he was only 31.
And to think that some heinous, disgusting excuse for a human being wanting to take him out.
Why?
Because his star was that bright, that was that scary to you.
There's something wrong.
There's something wrong if you can't handle speech, if you can't handle the other side, if you can't handle debate.
22 year old Tyler Robinson.
This is the guy they identified him yesterday and guess what?
He went home to dad.
Dad knew exactly Who that kid on the tape was.
Apparently they had just had a family dinner as well, Where Charlie Kirk came up, because somebody said Charlie Kirk's coming to Utah.
And around the family dinner this kid just started bashing Charlie and they knew something was up, that lately he had started to get into politics more and more so.
So a 22 year old takes him out with one shot And then walks away.
I mean, thank God the father had the decency.
I'm telling you it was a decent family, right?
Well, people are like, what is the motive?
What is the motive?
What could it possibly be?
We're going to think about the motive.
I'll tell you what the motive is.
Oh, I don't think you have to think very hard at all.
I think the motive is hate.
I think the motive is all the extremism that they have been just stashing down our kids' throats, whether it be in school, Whether it be online.
Oh, we'll hear more.
You know, we'll hear more, but you know, you saw what was on the bullets.
You know what his intention was.
You don't have to think that hard, as Governor Spencer Cox of Utah said.
Here we go.
I think the clearest one that says catch fascist, there's not, and by the way, that's like catch like a ball, catch this.
I think that speaks for itself.
Governor, communicate like you have to communicate.
Yet you think, why has our youth been so poisoned, right?
Why would a 22-year-old, oh, because they've been corrupted by this woke ideology that poor Charlie was just out there trying to defend against, to try and help people see a different way, that there's another path, that you don't have to be consumed with hate, that you can love God, that you can love your neighbor, that you can love your wife, your husband, your children, and put God, your spouse, and your family first.
That's all he was trying to teach people to do, to have a better shot at a better life, going back to some of the roots that have made us the success that we are as a country.
And that's threatening to this kid.
Why would that be threatening to him?
J.K. Rowling tweeted last night beautifully, and I quote, if you believe free speech is for you, but not for your political opponents, you're illiberal.
If no contrary evidence could change your beliefs, you're a fundamentalist.
If you believe the state should punish those with contrary views, you're a totalitarian.
And if you believe political opponents should be punished with violence or death, you're a terrorist.
That 22-year-old was a terrorist.
He thinks That someone who dares to speak differently than him should be punished and killed and wiped off the face of the planet.
22-year-old Tyler Robinson is going to be seeing himself wiped off the planet because the feds are going to seek the death penalty in this one.
Again, the ammunition, you know, with the transgender stuff, the anti-fascist stuff, it's gross.
It's sickening.
And all of us should be very angry right now.
People are, okay, this is time to calm down, calm down.
Oh, you know what?
Maybe I'd be willing to be calm if the other side would at least do the right thing.
But do you think they're doing the right thing?
No, Ilhan Omar.
Oh my gosh, I had to edit her swear words out of her interview with the fired NBC anchor, MSNBC.
It's like a I Hate Charlie festival over there on his little show.
So there's that I gotta show you.
And then there's little Georgie Poo.
Oh, not the ABC one, the other one over in the UK that talks with a fancy accent, but is such a disgusting excuse for a human being.
I'm sorry.
This guy debated Charlie.
And you know what he was on WhatsApp doing?
Laughing.
Laughing.
When Charlie got shot.
I mean, what is wrong with people?
How have they been so desensitized?
I don't know.
We got a problem, right?
We got a problem.
What is wrong with these people?
I want you to see this Oxford guy, this Vanzi Schmanzi Oxford guy over in the UK.
You know what?
Charlie was doing a great thing.
He was establishing Turning Point USA.
That was his nonprofit group, right?
That was getting together young people everywhere all over the world, primarily in America.
In fact, he's credited with so many young people actually registering as conservatives.
How fantastic, right?
That's a big part of what Charlie was trying to do, and then he was taking it abroad.
He went overseas.
He was working in the UK trying to do this.
Here he is.
Here's a picture of him debating this guy at Oxford Union.
Now you're like, what is Oxford Union?
I didn't know what Oxford Union was, but it's like some debate society, I guess, with Oxford.
This Joe Schmo, this, oh boy, I have words I could say.
But you know what?
I actually don't like to speak like the likes of Ilhan Omar because she says these words, not Trishrikin.
But look at them.
This guy, he's the new president of this little debate club.
He debated Charlie actually on toxic masculinity.
You know, Charlie won, so he probably just couldn't take it.
That's why he's so damn happy.
When Charlie gets shot?
I mean, what kind of sick person would be doing that?
Well, this guy, little Georgie Poo, he's got some fancy last name.
Let me see if I can pronounce it.
Because you should know his name.
George Abaranye or whatever.
He's the debating society president.
He got voted in in June.
He said, Charlie Kirk got shot.
Let's effing go on a WhatsApp message.
And then his Instagram account read, Charlie Kirk got shot.
L-O-L-L, you know, laughing out loud.
Okay, so now Oxford Union is criticizing the students' comments and saying that they firmly oppose all Forms of political violence, they're like, oh my, get rid of the guy, expel him.
Gone, You know what?
We do not want violence in our society.
We don't want it in the UK society either.
We certainly don't want it in a so called debate society.
Thank you very much.
Oxford Union, you should be ashamed.
Here he is.
I don't know how to say his last name.
We're going with Georgie Poo.
To effectively create change in the world we desire.
Inside Prop will argue that at times there is simply nothing else that can be required other than violent retaliation.
And this is a view I wholeheartedly agree with.
The view that some institutions are too broken, too regressive, too oppressive to be reformed, like cancers of our society.
They must and they should be taken down by any means necessary.
Any means necessary.
So, Charlie was a cancer in society that needed to be taken down any means necessary.
And that is, I guess, why, despite the fact that you were debating him, because you know, you can debate, but you lost.
That's why?
That's why, little Georgie Poo, you decided to go on WhatsApp and say, let's F and go?
Charlie Kirk got shot?
Let's laugh about it on my public Instagram post.
What a bad, bad person.
Get rid of them, Oxford.
Get rid of them.
Okay, I'm sorry.
Like, you know what?
You've got to.
There's a difference, right, between free speech and promoting violence.
And when you're laughing about somebody getting shot because they're just going out there trying to have an honest debate with college kids, that's violent.
And that's scary.
And that's what they're trying to do.
He just said it.
He said they're cancers that need to be gotten rid of any means necessary.
And you know what?
These are the people, ladies and gentlemen. that are infecting the minds of our youth, that are infecting the minds of a Tyler Robinson at 22 years old who comes from a good Utah conservative family, goes to church.
It was the minister who helped bring him in.
How does someone like that get so twisted?
Maybe because they're watching a little too much of the Georgie poos out there.
War On Civil Debate 00:07:52
Well, probably not that guy, but the equivalent that we have in the US.
Oh, and you know we have plenty of them.
I'm about to get to them.
Charlie warned me of this back in 2018.
I told you I've known him for a long time and he used to come on my Fox show.
We used to have him on like twice a week at one point.
And I remember in 2018, he was on Fox with me after he had just been surrounded by about 50 Antifa people, having his life threatened back then.
And he warned, he warned of this.
This was right after Maxine Waters was like, go find them, go track them down, you yell at them, you do this, you do that.
Who is the party that's promoting the violence right now?
It is not that hard to figure out, okay?
Charlie knew it in 18.
Watch.
Why do you think this is happening right now?
What's gone on in our society that is contributing to this somewhat violent, I mean, very, very aggressive streak among some members of the left?
Yeah, and this is a trend.
You can see it.
This is a pattern now.
I mean, they did this to Kirsten Nielsen, they did this to Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
You remember Steve Scalise got shot last summer.
So this is a growing trend against conservatives and outward supporters of the president.
I attribute it to two main things.
First and foremost, The leaders of the Democrat Party do not denounce this sort of behavior.
In fact, they condone it and they encourage it.
Exactly.
You have Maxine Waters say if you see them in a department store, you see them in a restaurant, which we were, find them, create a scene.
They followed her instructions to a T.
And the second thing is these protesters and these radicals on the left, they have not been able to reconcile that this president is succeeding.
They hate Trump more than they love America.
They hate this president so much because they thought they were going to have the fundamental transformation of America with the election of Hillary Clinton, and they still cannot reconcile that he's succeeding, cutting taxes, growing the economy, fighting terror effectively, and he wants to go after allies of the president, which is, of course, Candace and I are too.
It just bothers me that it's so much intimidation that they're using.
Intimidation, indeed, right?
So, Charlie was used to it.
He'd been around it for a while.
He was warning of it for a while.
And think about this.
That was 18.
Charlie was saying, hey, they're just mad that this president is having all this success.
You bet they were mad.
Think about how mad they are now.
The president's having a lot of success.
And so what do they do?
Oh, they talk about how we need war.
We need to wage war.
I mean, who are these people?
I want you to see Dan Goldman, the representative from New York.
He's the guy that was carrying Biden's water nonstop, lying through his teeth.
And then you got the senator from Connecticut, one Chris Murphy.
Disgusting what he said.
Listen.
Do whatever is necessary in order to save the country.
Some in the war right now to see podcasters come to their senses and recognize that this is not war.
Like we're in a war right now to save this country.
And so you have to be willing to do whatever is necessary in order to save the country.
Some in the sort of far right, you know, podcasting sphere who make money off this.
Kind of rhetoric.
I mean, they're talking about war.
There's a war targeting conservatives.
That is incredibly dangerous.
And I hope these far right podcasters come to their senses and recognize that this is not war.
Wait a second.
Wait a second.
What did we just hear?
What did we just hear from Senator from Connecticut, Murphy?
Oh, yeah.
This is war.
Oh, and I got more where that came from.
Meanwhile, NBC's parent, Comcast is like, We want civility.
Can we please have some civility?
They're saying that they want civility.
Isn't that rich?
The media wants civility right now.
Well, I'll tell you, you might have to actually start with some of the leaders in the Democrat Party, and then you can work your way through the media because, oh, I know you fired the guy, the guy who said all those heinous things on MSNBC during the live coverage of the Charlie Kirk shooting.
He deserved to be fired, absolutely.
He was terrible on TV as well.
You got another one who I'll tell you is not very good on TV.
But for some reason, she gets a pass because she checks a few boxes.
And apparently, because, you know, a lot of Somalia has now relocated to the U.S., they're voting for her out in her state.
And she goes on with this guy who used to be at MSNBC, but he was fired because he also was a little in that Joy Reid camp and was promoting extremism himself.
Well, now he's promoting it all day long with the likes of Ilhan Omar, who, like I said, I had to actually spend time.
Valuable time out of my day cleaning up her disgusting language.
But this is what she's saying?
After a guy who was a hero in the conservative movement?
A guy who, by the way, the NFL had a moment of silence for last night?
The Yankees had a moment of silence for two nights ago?
The President of the United States clearly valued, adored the Vice President carrying his casket and Ilhan Omar saying this.
Yesterday, saying this is a Democratic Party problem.
As if people like you are not getting death threats all the time, credible ones.
I mean, it's actually disgusting.
And, you know.
I'm sorry, I know she's disgusting, but we're going to listen to it because you need to know.
You need to know what they're saying.
If you don't hear this, you don't know how bad it really is.
So we're going to watch and listen together.
It reminds you that although these people pretend to be adults, that they are sometimes, you know, they think a lot less than even children.
Do when it comes to compassion, when it comes to thoughtfulness, when it comes to being a leader.
I'm sorry.
These people are celebrating the death of a guy who was totally nonviolent, who just went to college campuses to have some debates.
Wow.
You know, I did expect the president's address to the nation would have been a lot more compassionate filled, it would have been less partisan.
He doesn't even know who the assassin is for him to say.
Yes.
Wing lunatic.
Oh, like the guy's sane?
Ilhan Omar, you don't think he's a lunatic?
Obviously.
You're the lunatic if you don't think a guy who's shooting like a sniper would from 200 yards away, killing a 31 year old nonviolent person, you're the lunatic, lady.
I think it kind of denigrated his status and the status of the office he holds.
But what I do know for sure is that Charlie was someone who once said, you know, guns save lives after a school shooting.
Charlie was someone who was willing to debate and downplay the death of George Floyd in the hands of Minneapolis police.
I think he called him a scumbag.
Right, have no regard.
Scumbag.
Okay, just for the record, George Floyd in 07.
He went to jail for like five years because of a 2007 armed robbery where he held a gun to a pregnant woman's stomach as people robbed her.
They dressed up as though they were utility workers.
They busted into her home.
She's pregnant and he holds a gun to her belly.
That guy doesn't think he's a scumbag and an Ilhan Omar.
Oh no, we're going to give that guy a pass all day long.
Exaggerating Chris Cuomo's Past 00:11:12
They make me sick.
Slavery and what black people have gone through in this country.
By saying Juneteenth should never exist.
And I think, you know, there are a lot of people who are out there talking about him just wanting to have a civil debate.
A complete rewriting of history.
Yeah, there is nothing more effed up, you know, like than to completely pretend that, you know, his words and actions have not been recorded and in existence Existence for the last decade or so.
And you have people like Nancy Mace who constantly harass people that she finds inferior and wants them not to exist in this country or ever.
And you have people like Trump who has incited violence against people like me.
And so these people are foolish.
And it's important for us to call them out while we feel.
Anger and sadness, and have you know empathy, which Charlie said, no, it shouldn't exist because that's a newly created word or something.
Like, I have empathy for his kids and his wife and what they're going through because I don't want no one should go through that.
And we hold ourselves, I hope, to high standards.
And we consider you and I as people of deep faith.
Okay, okay, that is just like that was a train wreck, all right?
But we know she's a pretty.
Sketchy person, and I say this knowing I've just seen her filing and somehow her husband miraculously just increased his wealth in the last two years by some 3,500%.
Oh, he says he's a venture capitalist, but actually he's not.
He's a lobbyist.
He is a lobbyist?
Huh, funny.
He works all around the world to lobby for everybody's stuff.
Maybe that means he's a foreign agent too?
I don't know, but it seems kind of amazing that you go from negative $1,000 to nearly $30 million in the span of two years.
Ilhan.
I got my suspicions.
I bet Trump does too.
I think the IRS ought to be looking at you, honey bunny.
Anyway, we don't do that because we're not Lois Lerner, right?
But it's suspicious, trust me.
And I don't think these people have any values.
You know what?
I was impressed by Bernie Sanders, though.
Look at what he said right here.
The murder of Charlie Kirk is part of a disturbing rise in political violence that threatens to hollow out our public life.
A free society relies on the premise that people can speak out without fear or humiliation.
No more political violence.
You know what?
You know I don't cut Bernie a lot of slack.
I don't like socialists or communists, especially ones that ride on private jets and hold millions of dollars worth of real estate through multiple homes.
But that was the right thing to say.
Ilhan Omar, wrong thing to say.
There's a right in this world.
There's a wrong in this world.
And it's actually not that complicated.
It's not.
So Comcast, you know, they want to clean things up.
They're calling for civility over at NBC.
They're going to have some work to do over at MSNBC.
But, you know, good thing they got rid of that guy that you just saw.
Good thing they got rid of Joy Reid.
I think they get a few more to go.
They got rid of Matt Dowd the other day, who really never had much to add anyway.
His big claim to fame is he's dating Maria Shriver.
Woo!
Well, this fired CNN host should be fired from his new network.
This guy is one bad dude.
I'm talking about someone named Chris Cuomo.
Remember him?
He's the one that used to joke with his brother, his brother who was sending all the people that were infected with COVID into nursing homes where they would then infect the elderly.
And so you had thousands of elderly people dying.
And yet he would go on television with his brother and they'd laugh and they'd joke.
And he made a big giant fool of himself there.
And he's continuing to do it.
Oh, here.
Well, My friend Benny Johnson had a thing to say.
He brought Benny on to talk about Charlie and his legacy, and he started to blame Benny and blame Charlie and say, well, you know, you guys are dishing it out and it's all for money, blah, blah, blah.
Can we fire him again?
You know, I know some of the people over there.
I think they should take a look.
Maybe I should make some calls.
This guy, you know, he wants attention, okay?
And I hate to give it to him, but you got to see this.
I don't really care how we got here so much.
There is a lot of blame to go around.
I do not see you guys as victims.
You give as good as you get.
There is a lot of anger.
There is a lot of exaggeration.
It is all hate for profit on the fringe of this battling binary political system.
My question is I am, I am, my question is now what?
Charlie Kirk has never advocated, Charlie Kirk has never advocated violence ever.
Charlie Kirk was only saying he did.
I'm not saying he did.
Nonviolent, a nonviolent.
Peaceful debater.
He went into places where he knew he was hated in order to engage.
I never, I agree.
Kindly and grinly.
I agree.
But he was not about violence.
I didn't say.
That's the same thing.
Oh, hold on.
It's not Christian.
Hold on.
I'm not talking about it with Charlie.
Benny, don't play games with me.
I'm giving you latitude because you deserve it because this was your friend and this is scary and it hurts and it could have just as easily been you.
Okay.
You know what this reminds me of?
He's been taking lessons from Bill O'Reilly.
That is like a direct move out of Bill O'Reilly.
He gets Bill O'Reilly on his show now and then, and now he's trying to copy Bill O'Reilly because that is terrible.
Totally a Bill O'Reilly expression.
I'm sorry, Chris, come up with something new, would you, buddy?
You just insulted Benny, then, I guess.
You said, Oh, Charlie's not violent, but you're violent, Benny.
Did you hear him say, You guys are dishing it out for profit?
I heard that.
Benny heard it.
Let's listen.
This shit is wrong.
It's wrong.
I'll never be able to chew me out, Chris, because I'll never dehumanize.
If I hear that Joe Biden gets a terminal cancer diagnosis, I'll say a prayer for him.
I'll say that I hope he lives the rest of his days painless.
That's exactly what I said.
And every person that I know and respect, and I know them all in my ecosystem, said the same thing.
Not a single one of us celebrated Joe Biden's terminal cancer diagnosis.
Now, I can show you an endless series of TikToks and celebration posts and T shirts made celebrating this travesty.
There is a fundamental difference of those who glorify death on the left.
And it is demonic, it's sick, and it's dark, and it needs to be described.
I hear you.
You don't hear him.
You don't hear anything.
You're just looking to try and get some ratings on your really pathetic show that no one watches.
You also have a pathetic little podcast that no one watches.
And apparently, you don't even have your video, right?
But let's take a listen to what he was actually saying.
It's gross.
When the richest man in the world who controls this.
This is.
I actually retweeted this.
Elon Musk saying the left is the party of murder.
I'm sorry.
Like, what do you think is going on?
I mean, who's the one doing this?
It's not the conservatives, okay?
And this idiot, idiot, idiot is out there trying to call now for what?
Elon Musk's destruction?
Listen.
The most powerful platform in our media writes that the left is the party of murder.
And then decides Elon Musk, I'm talking about this, the stupidest genius I've ever been around.
And no, I'm not going to excuse it because he's autistic.
I know a lot of, I have a lot of autistic people in my life.
They are not all morally bankrupt.
Okay.
They don't all say the stupidest thing at the worst time.
All right.
I don't know what it's about with him and I don't give a.
Oh, wow.
He is, he is, in my opinion, exhausted.
His usefulness now does that mean he should be murdered no because that's not how I see the value of human life But would I be surprised?
No, I wouldn't be surprised if it's me I Mean that's where we are.
It's who we are That's who we are But when he can write the left is a party of this and then he goes on this thing about why black is capitalized and why white is not medium is the message We are about division and hate.
Oh, please now you are okay.
So sorry.
I had to put my face over his I'm sure you'd rather see my face than his I'd rather see my face than his anyway his video is all screwed up.
So Not sure what's coming over on his podcast in terms of production value, but whatever.
That is the guy that was fired from CNN, who was then attacking Benny on his God knows what show that nobody watches and nobody's heard of, and then started to go after Elon Musk because Elon Musk is calling this stuff out.
Elon Musk is making the point.
I made the same point with you guys the other day.
Like, why do we always capitalize black in the New York Times, but it's lowercase white?
Shouldn't it be lowercase black?
Oh, Just so you know, the rationale behind that one is black is an identity.
White is not.
Excuse me?
Like, again, like there's a lot of black people in the world from all over the world.
I mean, Africa's a pretty big continent.
You got a lot of black people there.
Do you think they all have something in common with each other?
Oh, do they have something in common with people that grew up in Georgia or people that grew up in New York City?
No.
It's like saying, you know, me, Trish Regan, you're from New Hampshire and you're Irish and therefore you're exactly the same as someone from Ukraine or someone from Poland.
I mean, because you're all white, right?
You must all have the same experiences.
But they think that everybody who's black is exactly the same.
I'm sorry, that's a very, very narrow view of the world, New York Times, AP, and the rest of you, like Chris Cuomo.
Very narrow view of the world.
It's all lowercase, okay?
You know, if you're Nigerian, then I get it, okay.
If you're um, if you want to go with African-american, I get it.
If you're a Haitian capital, h just like.
If you're Irish capital, I Irish-american.
These people though, he's going on about oh, they're all trying to divide divide, divide.
Narrow Views On Black Lives 00:06:14
What do you think he's doing?
He's doing plenty of it himself and he's doing it for attention.
He's doing clicks, and i'll tell you this.
I mean, some people are getting kind of fed up.
This guy, you've never heard of him before.
I guarantee you, His biggest claim to fame, like I said, is he is dating Maria Shriver.
I used to work with him at Bloomberg.
He actually seemed like a reasonable, sensible enough analyst back then.
But, you know, TDS happened.
And these people all went off the deep end, including one, Matt Dowd.
Look at what he said about Charlie Kirk.
As the guy is getting operated on, I'm getting texts from friends.
Charlie's not going to make it, we don't think.
And I'm hoping.
I'm hoping to God, like, he will.
Like, I went on the air with you the other day, and we blew out the whole show.
I mean, I was going to talk about the poor Ukrainian girl, and for goodness sakes.
I got a report that a guy I've known for some 10 years just got shot by some maniac and is in surgery.
And this one said this.
But following up with what was just said, he's been one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures in this, who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech or sort of aimed at certain groups.
And I always go back to hateful thoughts.
Lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions.
Wow.
Like he deserved it.
You're like Georgie Poo over there in the UK, the guy that debated Charlie Kirk and lost, but got promoted to become the president of the Oxford Union Debate Society, laughing about it on WhatsApp, laughing about it.
On Instagram.
Oh, he deserves this?
He deserves this because he dared to express a viewpoint that might be different than you?
I don't think so.
MSNBC lady's freaking out.
The woman who runs MSNBC, I mean, I'm telling you, she's on the chopping block because she's got a messed up situation over there on MSNBC.
Nobody is getting any ratings.
They're paying Rachel Maddow $25 million a year they can't afford.
In about eight to 10 weeks, they're supposed to spin off as the Ms. Network.
MS Now.
Ms. So they're going to be the Ms. Network and not only that, they're going to be under the umbrella of something called Versant or Versant as they would say.
And that Versant is supposed to be mean and lean and ready for this new generation of media, only they're cable.
So clearly they can't be ready for the new generation of media because they are by very definition the old generation of media.
This is like radio, okay?
I'm sorry.
Bye-bye, cable.
We're not watching you anymore.
We've all cut the cord.
I did so.
I saved like 600 bucks.
It shows you how many cable boxes I had in my house, right?
Cut the cord.
If you haven't, do it.
Take the plunge.
You're going to save yourself a fortune.
Anyway, Rebecca Cutler, she knows this.
She's got no ratings.
She's now in charge of a dying network.
She did fire Joy Reid.
Kudos to her for that one.
She did fire Matthew Dowd.
Kudos to her for that one.
But she's got a lot of other problems there on her network, as we know, right?
Jens Haki's one.
Rachel costs a ton of money.
I'm sure you could keep Chris Hayes, who looks just like Rachel, right in that slot.
Kind of sounds like Rachel, too.
Same kind of staccato in the voice.
Just keep him.
He's cheaper.
That would be my advice.
Statement from MSNBC, President Rebecca Cutler.
During our breaking news coverage of the shooting of Charlie Kirk, Matthew Dowd made comments that were inappropriate, insensitive, and unacceptable.
We apologize for his statements as he has.
There's no place for violence in America, political or otherwise.
That was at 701 last night, or maybe night before.
gosh, I got to tell you guys these days are kind of unfortunately just like blurring into each other, right?
It's been quite a week, I think, for all of us.
We'll talk a little bit more about that coming up because you've been grieving with me and I love you for that because I don't feel alone in this.
I have all of you.
We're coming up on a million subs and you're as upset as I am and we're in this together and Charlie's legacy is going to live on.
But I would just say that that was not enough.
So at seven o'clock, she tweets that out.
I retweet it saying, hey, MSNBC, not enough.
Guess what they did?
Within an hour, they got rid of the guy, Matt Taub.
Bye, bye, bye, bye.
I don't think he cost them much, but, you know, every penny counts these days.
And he's not doing you any favors, so they fired him.
And he deserved to be fired.
You know who else deserves to be fired?
And I guarantee you, she's not costing you that much, but she's terrible on television, and she's lighting a fire all the time, all day long.
The one with the drapey hair that I call the wallflower.
She should not be working in TV.
I think she used to be some kind of a political op, like running campaigns and stuff.
Oh, yeah, she's the one that hated Sarah Palin so much.
She really shouldn't be on TV.
But you know what?
Who am I to say?
Rebecca, I could do a much better job handling your network, but that would actually make me an MSNBC employee.
Okay, here's Nicole.
The permission structure for violence.
You've got polls about political violence.
Democrats don't think it's a good idea.
Only Republicans, only people inclined to consume conservative media, are now, I think, upward of 50% say that if necessary, violence is okay.
You've only got the conduct on one of the two sides.
You see, they think it's us.
But I would just say the evidence, the actual evidence, who does it point to?
Drum roll, please, them.
I just don't even know why there aren't uprisings all over the country.
Maybe there will be.
People need to start taking to the streets.
This is a dictator.
You know, there needs to be unrest in the streets for as long as there's unrest in our lives.
Enemies of the state.
Show me where it says that protests are supposed to be polite.
And peaceful.
When they go low, we kill them.
How do you resist the temptation to run up and wring her neck?
The biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right.
Unstoppable Movement For Charlie 00:07:38
I thought he should have punched him in the face.
I said, even if you lost, he insulted your wife.
I'd like to punch him in the face.
I said, if we're in high school, I'd take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him.
Punch some people in the face.
Well, they took you literally, guys.
They took you quite literally now, didn't they?
You know, Charlie was a remarkable, I still call him a kid because I met him when he was a 20-something-year-old, but he was 31.
A father of two little kids who will never get to know their dad.
A husband and a leader, a real leader.
Today, his show went live.
There was no Charlie in the seat.
I wanted to do this show for all of you today.
And I wanted the friends of this show and of Charlie that knew him best, the Thought Crime crew, to be here in the studio to commemorate our friend, our dear brother, for this sacred.
This solemn moment, this occasion, none of us ever dreamed we would have to do.
And here we are because Charlie would want us to be here.
He would be upset if we weren't here.
And we, of course, have left his chair open and empty because nobody will ever fill it.
Nobody could ever hope to.
No.
But.
I mean, they're going to continue on.
Turning Point will continue on.
They're going to try and continue his legacy.
Erica, his wife. is a gifted communicator, but she's not Charlie.
Those guys, they're not Charlie.
I have three kids of my own.
And I'm pretty conservative.
But I've told you guys before, I'm just mom.
And of course, whatever mom says, well, you know, you get teenage kids, I got teenage daughters, like they want to rebel, right?
But they found Charlie online.
And they loved him.
And I used to say to one of my daughters who loves debate, I said, we're going to get you a job with Turning Point.
For goodness sakes, let me call Charlie and get you an internship at some point when you're old enough.
She said, Mom, I want to do that.
Like, I love it.
And I think her love, she reads the Bible every night.
And I feel like a lot of that was inspired by Charlie.
And I thank him for that.
We were colleagues at Fox.
He was a contributor there.
I used to have him on my show.
We were colleagues in the sense that we both have the same company that represents our podcasts.
And, you know, I can remember occasionally during COVID, I didn't have anything to do.
I think the way my Fox contract had worked.
When I left, they still owned me for a while because they couldn't fire me.
I was under contract.
And so we parted ways, but they had to pay me.
Part of the deal was I couldn't go on TV, but I could go on radio.
So I went on Charlie's radio show.
I'd fill in now and then because I really didn't have too much else to do.
It was COVID.
And his team was wonderful.
They were always so gracious, as was he.
And I just can't believe we're living in a world now where our young people don't have that.
And we're all grieving in this together.
The kids are sad.
They're upset.
They keep saying, I don't understand.
I don't understand.
Mom, how could somebody do such a thing?
Mom, how come they couldn't save him?
Because the blood loss was that massive.
When you hit the artery like that, they couldn't stop it.
What's frightening is they're trying to put conservatives in a place where they should be fearful for their lives because of their thoughts, because of their words.
We will not be fearful.
Our movement cannot, will not be stopped.
If anything, the memory of Charlie and what they did should inspire everyone every day.
His love of God, his love of family, his love of country, his love of community, that lives on in all of us.
Remember that.
Don't let them shut you up.
You have a voice in all of this.
I have a voice here together.
Look, for goodness sakes, guys, we're coming up on a million subs.
Who would have thought the little Trish Regan show, okay?
I started this maybe, I want to say a year and a half ago, religiously coming on the air every day.
One of these days I'm going to get a permanent time.
I know everybody wants me to do that.
It's hard.
I get three kids.
It depends on what's going on, right?
But I really am trying.
And I want to be live.
I want to be live with you because to me, live is just so exciting.
And there's a pressure here and there's an honesty and there's a vulnerability.
And, you know, hey, we've been together when the camera's gone out.
We've been together when the audio is not working.
We were together when Charlie Kirk was shot and when Charlie Kirk was announced dead.
And when I say we're on the front lines of history, together I mean it.
So stay with me.
Make sure if you have not subscribed, if you have not subscribed, make sure you subscribe to this show.
This is a movement that is unstoppable.
We have tremendous leadership in one Donald Trump.
And there's more where that came from.
A very deep bench of talented, intelligent people that want what's best for you and want what's best for the country.
Charlie, rest in peace.
I love you all.
I love you all for grieving together with me.
It's been kind of therapeutic in a way, and I hope that I've been able to give you some comfort in some way.
This is a great nation.
A meritocracy that cannot be stopped because some 22-year-old wacko, lunatic, I'll say it apparently, Ilhan Omar is mad that the president called him a lunatic.
Grieving Together As A Nation 00:02:07
Can you imagine that?
We're not going to be stopped by that.
We're just going to get stronger and stronger and stronger.
You know what we're going to make sure of?
That our kids learn the right things.
That they're taught the right values.
That they remember that this is the greatest country on earth.
And gosh darn it, they are so darn lucky to have been born here.
And you know what?
It's what you make of it.
God helps those who help themselves.
So get to work.
Think about others.
Do the right thing for your community.
Help yourself, help your family, love your family and your community.
Have honest discussions with people by all means, but never, never resort to the things that we have seen.
I am here with you.
I will be here with you all weekend.
Updating you on everything.
We are commercial free.
There's no money being made in any of this.
It's not the time.
It's not the place.
Just you and me.
Let me know what you think.
Thank you, T.R.O.R.
Thank you, J. Paul.
Thank you, Ian.
For any trolls out there, yes, Ian is right.
Get a conscious, for goodness sakes.
Oh, gosh.
Ian, let me get you back here.
I'm trying to add you to the broadcast.
Yes.
Get a conscious.
Maybe find God.
You'd be amazed at what a little healthy dose of religion can do.
And to the good ones out there, 99% of you are all good.
99.99% of Americans are all good.
We're going to be good together.
Have a wonderful weekend, and I'm going to see you soon.
