The Trish Regan Show - LA Dodgers Face FAN BACKLASH for Replacing National Anthem with SPANISH Version! Aired: 2025-06-17 Duration: 05:24 === Unknown Singer at Dodgers Game (02:46) === [00:00:00] Did you see this story out of LA? [00:00:02] I mean, like, it just keeps coming out of California, if you would. [00:00:04] The national anthem getting sung in Spanish. [00:00:08] Espanol. [00:00:09] Yeah. [00:00:10] Okay. [00:00:10] So there's this singer. [00:00:12] Her name is Neza, and she was at the Dodgers game. [00:00:16] And I actually have never heard of her. [00:00:18] Full disclosure. [00:00:19] Never. [00:00:19] Do you guys know her? [00:00:20] Because, like, I'm sure some people know her. [00:00:23] She's supposed to be, like, some kind of social media TikTok star or singer or whatever. [00:00:26] I have no idea who she is, but that's neither here nor there because, you know, I could tell you all the Fed governors. [00:00:34] I could tell you, you know, a lot of stuff, a lot of stuff, a lot of minutiae that a lot of people don't know, but I have no idea who this woman is. [00:00:43] But now I do. [00:00:43] Maybe that was her goal, right? [00:00:45] So she went out there to perform the national anthem at the Dodgers game, and she decided to sing it in Spanish because apparently somebody was telling her not to. [00:00:55] And so that was like all the more reason to do so. [00:00:58] Here she is speaking about that. [00:00:59] All right, bear with me because I'm still very shooken up and emotional, and I just anyways, I just got home from singing the national anthem in Spanish at the Dodgers game, and it is the official Star Spangled Banner in Spanish. [00:01:14] You can google it, so I'll just read it to you really quick. [00:01:17] But it was officially commissioned in 1945 by the U.S. State Department as a part of President Franklin Roosevelt's good neighbor policy to foster a better relationship with Latin America. [00:01:28] Because of this, I didn't think I would be met with any sort of like no, especially because we're in LA. [00:01:37] With everything happening and i've sang the national anthem many times in my life, but there was today, out of all days. [00:01:46] I could not, i'm sorry yeah, I just could not believe when she walked in and told me, no um, but I just felt like I needed to do it para mi gente. [00:01:59] For anyone who's been following me for a while, you know everything I do is out of love, like out of love, good energy out of love, and I'm proud of myself for doing that today. [00:02:17] Okay. [00:02:17] Really, really proud. [00:02:20] My parents are immigrants. [00:02:21] Okay. [00:02:21] She's going on and on and on and on and on, right? [00:02:25] Because this is her moment, right? [00:02:27] As I said, I had never heard of this woman. [00:02:29] It could just be me. [00:02:31] Okay. [00:02:33] If you know her, let me know. [00:02:35] It could just be me or it could just be that nobody really knows who she is. [00:02:39] And this was a moment to kind of get some attention. [00:02:41] She is a social media. [00:02:43] Person, so you know they're always looking for their moment in the sun. === Singing National Anthem in Spanish (02:37) === [00:02:46] Apparently they really did. [00:02:48] They told her. [00:02:48] The Dodgers said, no, we're going to do it in English. [00:02:50] I mean, given everything that's happening, especially this weekend in Los Angeles, maybe not a good idea to fan the flames. [00:02:57] This is that moment. [00:02:58] Let's see if we have it. [00:03:06] So there she is. [00:03:35] She did it. [00:03:37] I mean, it is a beautiful song. [00:03:39] A lot of people kind of mess it up. [00:03:45] So we wanted to fix that. [00:03:48] A little special thing for you today here on the Trish Regan Show. [00:03:54] You know, you guys keep joking around will you sing? [00:03:56] Will you sing? [00:03:57] And I do sing, and I have a background in singing. [00:04:00] And so it seemed an opportune time to drag this one out, right? [00:04:05] Look, it's a beautiful song. [00:04:07] It's a hard song to sing. [00:04:08] It's fun. [00:04:09] Whether you sing it in English, whether you sing it in Spanish, I would just say look, have some pride for your country and respect for your country. [00:04:19] And, you know, we've talked about do we need English to be a constitutional amendment? [00:04:27] Do you have to actually declare that as the official language of the land? [00:04:32] And as this kind of stuff happens, it gives rise increasingly to that. [00:04:37] Because you should be able to hear your own national anthem in your own language. [00:04:45] Am I right? [00:04:47] Yeah, I'm right. [00:04:48] Okay, we got a big high note coming up. [00:05:07] Anyway, Neza, whoever she is, singing it in Spanish, causing quite a commotion, trying to get her 60 minutes of fame or 60 seconds of fame out there on the internet. [00:05:22] And we just wanted to share how it should be done, right?
