BREAKING! Dem Rep INDICTED on 3 COUNTS! Faces 17 YEARS in PRISON 😱

New Jersey Representative LaMonica McIver faces up to 17 years in prison after being indicted on three counts of obstructing federal law enforcement for allegedly shoving ICE officers at the Delancey Immigration Center. Interim U.S. Attorney Alina Hava filed charges under Title 18, Section 111A1, contrasting McIver's claims of political retaliation with video evidence of her physical assault. While Mayor Ras Baraka faced similar but dismissed charges, this case underscores the severe legal consequences for impeding federal agents, challenging McIver's narrative of forced confession and highlighting the dangers such conduct poses to law enforcement safety. La Monica Indicted 00:08:23
Breaking news to report right now, La Monica, you know La Monica, La Monica MacGyver from New Jersey.
She's now facing a grand jury indictment that just came through moments ago.
We had to come on special to tell you about this because we've covered the story rather significantly.
She is the New Jersey representative, the newly named New Jersey, newly elected representative that decided to really, you know, just go all out in front.
And I mean, really, you know, physically go all out in front on this whole immigration issue.
there at Delancey, the Delancey Immigration Center in Newark, New Jersey.
You know the videotape, right?
We've seen it.
Monica would be the lady in red, if you would.
And so she's physically pushing herself, per this tape, allegedly, onto these ICE officers.
And for that, she's in a whole lot of trouble.
She's in a whole lot of trouble because, you see, you can't actually do that.
You can't actually just muscle your way through the crowd.
You're actually supposed to make an appointment.
And then you're supposed to show up for your appointment and you can conduct your surveillance, which is what she wanted to do that way.
But you can't do that, okay?
And that's why Alina Hava came forward with the recommendation there that she be charged for the assault of ICE officers.
And indeed, that's exactly what happened.
It's being confirmed.
First, it was on Twitter.
There you can see breaking representative LaMonica was indicted by federal grand jury on three counts for obstructing federal law enforcement at the Newark, New Jersey ICE facility.
She faces up to 17 years in prison.
And then AP coming through with the story as well.
She has been charged in a complaint by Haba Haba last month with two assault charges stemming from the May 9th visit to the Newark Delancey Hall.
It is a 1,000 bed privately owned facility that ICE uses as a detention center.
So she wanted to do her rounds and make her inspection.
But again, she needed to do that with an appointment because there's a certain kind of protocol that one is supposed to follow.
And it shouldn't, obviously, under any circumstances, resort to that.
The president had something to say when this all went down.
Did he not?
Well, I'll let him say it.
This stuff is not going to happen anymore.
Not under his watch.
That woman was out of control.
She was shoving federal agents.
She was out of control.
The days of that crap are over in this country.
We're going to have law and order.
And so part of restoring that law in order now was having the U.S. Attorney, right?
U.S. Attorney Alina Hava filed charges.
And indeed she did.
Alina is charging her violating Title 18, United States Code, Section 111A1, for assaulting, impeding, interfering with law enforcement.
Because you can't do that.
I mean, I don't know how else to say it.
I mean, the mayor of New Jersey.
At least he got off.
Of course, he's suing now, saying he was unfairly detained when he was arrested because of the whole skirmish that was going down there in Newark, New Jersey.
Meanwhile, this one, La Monica, goes on to MSNBC.
She's making the rounds on MSNBC, on CNN.
Hey, it's her 20 Minutes of Fame, right?
And she goes on to Jen Psaki's show, Poor Jen, who has the misfortune of taking over, for one, Rachel Maddow.
And unfortunately for Jen, she doesn't look like Rachel Maddow, right?
She's got the bright red hair.
She gets on her show, and this is what we hear.
Come on.
Well, Hava said you had declined every opportunity to come to a resolution.
You said they wanted you to admit to something you didn't do.
What did they want you to admit to?
I mean, there was a lot.
We've had a week of back and forth with them, and I will say that I did not waver.
You know, I showed up there to do my job, and she wanted me to admit to doing things, all of these different lists of things that she said that I did.
Like what?
I mean, from things of impeding, you know.
Yeah, like impeding, just that little, you know, moment where you're shoving yourself up against the other ice officers there.
No, just the ice officers.
That might be considered just a little teeny bit of a problem.
La Monica.
Well, I, there were some other things in there that she put in there, but I can't remember exactly what it was.
But she wanted me to admit to these things, sign an agreement to them, and I'm not doing that.
Oh, you're not doing that, right?
Because that's what the mayor did.
And, well, he got off kind of scot-free.
Now he gets to sue them.
What do you know?
La Monica, you're the one who's actually facing some really serious charges.
I mean, again, this is kind of a big deal.
Up to 17 years for La Monica MacGyver.
Four violating Title 18, United States Code, Section 111A1, assaulting, impeding, interfering with law enforcement.
And you know what else?
Any kind of talk of, oh, well, this is just political, this, that, and the other.
I'm sorry, they got the tape.
I mean, they got the tape.
And just to be clear, there's more where that came from.
So this is not a good look for one La Monica.
But, you know, they're going to play it how they're going to play it.
She's got her lawyer saying, you know what, this is nothing but.
Uh, to total political nonsense.
Effectively and i'm going to quote here the legal process will expose this prosecution for what it truly is, political retaliation against a dedicated public.
So she's dedicated, all right, you know she's going to go fight for all the people that are being held because they've committed crimes in the immigration center and and waiting for their you know export opportunity deport, deportation opportunity, anyway.
Um, he goes on to say that it is a political retaliation against a dedicated public servant who refuses to shy away from her oversight responsibilities.
Oh, wow.
You know, she was just doing her job, right?
Kind of funny how they do their job nowadays.
She characterized the charges as, quote, forcibly impeding and interfering with federal law enforcement officers.
HABA did.
And they have a problem with that because they don't see that as any kind of forcible impediment.
But again, you know, let the tape speak for itself.
You can anticipate.
A lot of blowback in the mainstream media.
Get ready for it.
You know, we're going to see a lot of it in the airwaves.
This is all, you know, Trump running some kind of fascist nightmare.
Here is MSNBC just when she was charged, right?
Before she had even been indicted with the grand jury indictment.
They were flipping out even then.
We're getting some breaking news, and we want to ask you about it.
But apparently, Lena Haba, who is, what's her job now?
She's had a couple.
She is the interim U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey.
And she's acting all right.
She's acting.
Well, she has apparently now dismissed charges against Mayor Roz Baraka of Newark.
So no longer being charged.
He went to court last Thursday.
But it is being reported that she has apparently filed charges against New Jersey Congresswoman LaMonica McIver.
And I'm wondering your reaction to this news as we're getting, we're trying to find more information.
I don't believe the indictment has been unsealed yet, but it's our team, NBC News, is efforting to find out.
But just your reaction.
Your reaction to this?
Yeah, I mean, obviously, I'm just learning the news as we all are now.
It is chilling.
The reason why they're doing this is to shut me and my Democratic colleagues up.
They're doing it to make us afraid.
It's not going to work.
If anything, it will only strengthen our resolve.
But make no mistake about it.
This is not normal.
It is not the sort of thing that happens in a healthy democracy.
It is truly chilling.
And I would urge all of my colleagues, both Democrats and Republicans, even those Republicans who say one thing in private about Trump.
but then never want to say it in public.
Oh my God.
I'm just so sorry.
I'm so sick of this because there's a way to conduct yourself, right?
I'm all for freedom of speech.
You know that.
First Amendment, like queen right here, right?
We have a First Amendment and we respect and honor that.
But as Alina Haba pointed out, you know, time and place.
Time and place, La Monica.
Did they never teach you that?
While people are free to express their views for or against particular policies, Alina writes, they must not do so in a manner that endangers law enforcement and the communities those officers serve.
Exactly.
Time and Place Matters 00:00:40
And you know what?
This comes with a serious penalty.
I mean, if this were anyone else, right, they'd be in a whole lot of trouble.
But because it's a congresswoman from New Jersey who thinks she can play by a clearly a different set of rules, then somehow we're not supposed to do squat?
I don't think so.
Again, I go back to Alina's charges for which she could face 17 years in prison, violating Title 18 U.S. Code Section 111A1 for assaulting and beating, interfering, with law enforcement we are going to have so much more on the show the live show right here tomorrow make sure you tune in hit the bell when you subscribe so you know when i'm live we got more to do lots coming your way
