The Trish Regan Show - BREAKING: CBS FOLDS! Reportedly BEGS Trump to Settle in $20 Bil Lawsuit--Makes Massive Offer Aired: 2025-06-06 Duration: 07:43 === CBS Begging Trump To Settle (06:16) === [00:00:00] CBS News, ladies and gentlemen, totally folding. [00:00:03] They're like begging Trump to settle this case. [00:00:07] Paramount is the parent company of CBS News, which runs 60 minutes. [00:00:13] And the parent company would like to get some kind of deal done because you see, Donald Trump is suing them for $20 billion. [00:00:22] That's with a B, billion dollars. [00:00:25] The company's only worth eight, right? [00:00:27] So like he's going to put them out of business if he can. [00:00:30] And so Sherry Redstone. who's in charge of Paramount is looking at CBS saying, why, why, why do I have these headaches? [00:00:37] She just wants to do her Skydance merger deal. [00:00:39] Here's reality, okay? [00:00:40] Like for whatever reason, you have a bunch of reporters out there that really probably should be working for ABC News because maybe Bob Iger would put up with this a little bit better than Sherry Redstone. [00:00:50] And they're idealists and they want to say, okay, you know, this is the way it's going to be. [00:00:54] This is the way it's going to be. [00:00:56] And we're going to resign. [00:00:57] We're going to have a temper tantrum. [00:00:58] We're going to get on television on 60 Minutes and say this, that, and the other. [00:01:02] We're going to go give speeches at graduations and say this, that, and the other, all anti-Trump because they hate Trump so much. [00:01:09] And they're furious that their company is sitting there saying, well, you know, we got to keep the lights on. [00:01:14] And the reality is if we don't settle this lawsuit, which Donald Trump has every right to sue on, I mean, you think about it's not fair, right? [00:01:23] You can't just like, you can't libel someone the way that, say, ABC libeled him, George Stephanopoulos. [00:01:33] That's why there was a $16 million payment. [00:01:36] And so now CBS is like, okay, please take a deal. [00:01:38] We'll offer you 15 million for your library. [00:01:42] Please take this. [00:01:42] Please take this. [00:01:44] And what does Donald Trump say? [00:01:46] Nope. [00:01:48] He doesn't want it. [00:01:49] He's holding out for more. [00:01:50] Good for him, right? [00:01:52] He deserves more, given what they did. [00:01:55] Given what they did, ladies and gentlemen, remember on 60 Minutes? [00:01:59] He's like, wow, you guys actually tried to throw the election with this one. [00:02:02] The woman couldn't talk. [00:02:04] She tried to talk about Israel and she got into one of those word salad. [00:02:10] Escapades again. [00:02:11] And so you guys edited it and cleaned it up for her? [00:02:14] Why? [00:02:15] But it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening. [00:02:20] Well, Bill, the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region. [00:02:41] But it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening. [00:02:46] We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end. [00:02:54] Woo, what a good massive difference an editor can make, right? [00:02:59] You know, they cleaned her up pretty good and made her more palatable for the American people. [00:03:08] And that's what Donald Trump has a problem with. [00:03:11] And so, again, that is why he sued for $20 billion. [00:03:14] And Sherry Redstone is begging, let's just get this over with. [00:03:18] Let's put it behind us. [00:03:20] Can we give you 15 mil? [00:03:21] And he says no. [00:03:24] Meanwhile, you get all kinds of things going down at CBS. [00:03:27] You've got the guy who ran 60 Minutes, who was Scott Pelly's producer for many years, leaving because he didn't want to apologize to Donald Trump over that editing snafu. [00:03:39] You've got the president of CBS News, Wendy McMahon. [00:03:43] She's leaving because she allegedly did not want to apologize for what went down. [00:03:50] And then you got Pelly out there who got a gig for a pretty penny, I'm sure. [00:03:54] Maybe not that pretty because he's not that famous at Wake Forest University to give a graduation speech. [00:04:00] And what did he do? [00:04:01] He used it as an opportunity. [00:04:04] To rip the president. [00:04:06] Yeah. [00:04:08] People are making fun of him for it. [00:04:10] Lots of fun of him for it. [00:04:11] Here it is. [00:04:13] What is the meaning of life? [00:04:16] What is the meaning of life? [00:04:17] Who are you? [00:04:20] You are the educated. [00:04:23] You are the compassionate. [00:04:25] You are the fierce defenders of democracy, the seekers of truth, the vanguard against ignorance. [00:04:32] You are millions strong across our land. [00:04:37] I might be sorry that you were picked by history for this role, but maybe that was the plan. [00:04:46] Hard times are going to make you better and going to make you stronger. [00:04:52] In a few minutes, when that diploma hits your hand, it's not a piece of paper we're giving you. [00:05:00] We're handing you the baton. [00:05:03] Run with it. [00:05:20] I'm here. [00:05:20] Oh, I know why you're there. [00:05:22] I know why you're there. [00:05:24] You're there because you're getting a speaking fee. [00:05:26] I mean, let's be honest. [00:05:29] I'm here today because I'm 50 years farther down the trail than you are. [00:05:35] And I have doubled back this morning to tell you the one thing that I have learned from Volodymyr Zelensky, Nadia Murad, Sam Attar, and a thousand others. [00:05:51] In a moment like this, when our country is in peril, don't ask the meaning of life. [00:06:02] Life is asking, what's the meaning of you? [00:06:09] Thank you to Newsbusters for providing a Smet Choice little clip. [00:06:14] Ooh, Pelly. === Life Asking What Is Your Meaning (01:27) === [00:06:16] Yeah, he's getting pretty badly ripped on this one. [00:06:19] Pompous CBS News anchor ripped for anti Trump commencement speech. [00:06:24] and so on and so forth. [00:06:27] But you know what? [00:06:28] Donald Trump's going to have the last laugh because CBS is begging to settle. [00:06:33] He's holding out for more. [00:06:36] And if you think about it, he might actually be able to use this over with the FCC to actually get rid of CBS's affiliate relationships. [00:06:45] That's exactly what's happening with ABC. [00:06:47] The FCC head, Brendan Carr, sent that letter to Bob Iger saying, well, sent you paid the 16 million bucks. [00:06:56] Right. [00:06:57] Because you libeled the president on television. [00:07:00] Well, we're now finding that Americans don't trust you. [00:07:04] I mean, you've admitted it, right? [00:07:05] You've admitted it. [00:07:06] So since Americans don't trust you, maybe we shouldn't be handing out those affiliations all over the country to all your stations. [00:07:15] That could come back to hit CBS. [00:07:16] The other thing that could come back to hit CBS and that should come back to hit Disney are shareholder lawsuits. [00:07:22] Because once they admit, yeah, they really screwed up, you get the shareholder lawsuits that are going to come out of the woodwork and they're going to say, well, wait a second. [00:07:30] Why the heck do you have people like you had at 60 and at CBS overall where nobody's actually mining the ship? [00:07:38] So lots of trouble ahead for this company for sure.
