You're listening to the Liberty News Radio Network, and this is the Political Cesspool.
The Political Cesspool, known across the South and worldwide as the South's foremost populist conservative radio program.
And here to guide you through the murky waters of the political cesspool is your host, James Edwards.
Let's talk about Keith Alexander, ladies and gentlemen.
As everyone knows, Keith Alexander, for nearly the entire run of this show, has been an integral part of our success.
Going back to nearly the very beginning, Keith came on just a couple of years into our run.
He's been a co-host for over 10 years, but obviously there has been a noticeable absence of Keith for the last eight months.
And his last appearance on the show was the last broadcast of December of 2017, our New Year's Eve broadcast.
What happened was Keith decided to run for elected office.
And we had a meeting at his home in December where he conveyed to me that he would like to run for office.
And we mutually agreed that the political cesspool would not advertise his candidacy because we didn't want the political cesspool to overshadow his candidacy.
We cast a big shadow.
Now, we knew certainly inevitably the media would pick up on the fact that Keith was a part of our program, but we didn't want to hasten the day.
And also, the only other reason to really publicize his candidacy would be to draw in financial support from our audience.
And the only thing different about contributing to a candidate is if you contribute to a candidate, it is public.
That would have to be made public through Keith's financial disclosures as a candidate.
And then that would open up contributors to harassment.
So because there wasn't really a reason to publicize it, and we didn't want to hasten the day that the press would come down on Keith, we wanted him to run and let his own ideas be met by the voters.
And that was the decision that was made in December of last year.
We expected Keith to return in August, which is where we are now.
The reason we set his return date for August, barring his election, was that we completely felt as though Keith would win the Republican primary.
He ran for this office in 2014 and did win the primary and was defeated in the general election.
We expected him to win the primary again and then return in August.
Alas, he did lose the primary after the media came down on him quite hard for having association with the program.
He did receive 40% of the vote, even though all the news in town the week before the election was about Keith Alexander.
And of course, the media set on the story of Keith running for office as a member of PPC until the weekend before the election and it made national news.
So you ask, perhaps, why hasn't Keith been returned since he did lose the primary in May?
Where has he been for the last three months?
Well, since we expected him to be gone until August, we had some shows that were pre-booked.
We had some guests that had been planned well in advance.
We had some events that we were going to cover, such as the American Renaissance Conference, the National Solutions Conference, the League of the South Conference, all pre-booked.
And there were some other things that came up, of course, the Southern Baptist Convention.
So we thought that we would stick to the original plan and bring in Keith back on in August.
But you're probably asking, though, well, why not just mention the fact that that's where Keith has been after all these months?
Well, that's a good question, and you deserve a good answer.
There was an article written about Keith's candidacy that created some confusion and even a little bit of discord.
And we're going to unpack that this hour.
But I will tell you this, that there was at no point in Keith's campaign for office that we were not connected.
We continued to break bread every week.
I was not caught unawares about anything.
I knew about the article in question before it happened.
after Keith gave the interview, but before it was published, and then, of course, on throughout the aftermath.
We never lost touch.
We were together every week.
And another thing is, of course, Keith has been a constant on this show.
The role of Keith on this show has been integral.
I think the political cesspool is at its strength.
We are strongest when we're all together.
And I play my role on this show, obviously, as the showrunner and as the front man.
Eddie is the everyman, and Keith is the intellectual.
And those are the three pillars complimented mightily by Jack Ryan, Scoop Stanton, Winston Smith, and of course, Sam Bushman.
But a guy like Keith is just not somebody that you can replace.
I think that he has an intellectual capacity and a historical knowledge and an encyclopedic ability to draw up stories and anecdotes and offer commentary that is rivaled by only maybe someone like Pat Buchanan.
And in our movement, maybe somebody like a Sam Dixon.
Keith is irreplaceable.
It is silly not to use such a resource when he is available and wants to return.
And so we did stick with the original plan of bringing him back in August.
And of course, he's a friend.
And I've missed him not being on the air after having served so faithfully for over 10 years, every week in here for at least an hour and a half, hour, hour and a half, sometimes the entire show.
And now it is time to bring Keith back.
But one thing I want to focus on is the article in question, the article that has been noticed by some.
And Sam Bushman's going to help us break that down.
And we're going to start that right now and continue on for the rest of the hour and give everybody a full and comprehensive explanation about Keith.
I have received countless emails, emails every week, still to this day coming in.
Where's Keith?
When's he coming back?
What's going on?
But we're telling you now.
Sam?
Thank you, sir.
And ladies and gentlemen, let's be very clear.
We don't hold anything back.
We're as candid and as open as we can possibly be.
And there's no games here.
We're going to level with you exactly what went down, as James articulated.
I have been involved as the network owner.
I knew that they had made this agreement.
I understood it.
I was fine with it because I don't know if you know, but the position that Keith Alexander was running for is a tax assessor position.
And a tax assessor position is really supposed to be kind of like a judge almost, a non-controversial, non-political post, if you will.
And it's supposed to be a situation where, hey, you know, you get elected and you assess taxes and you do what's best for the people.
And Keith Alexander has felt for a long time in this local race.
That's another point I'll get to in a second.
But this local race that we really need somebody there who will do honor.
And he believes that what's actually being done right now has kind of been taken to the political levels.
And Keith's goal was to dial back the politics on this thing and get somebody in there that would truly look out for the people in a meaningful way.
And so since it's a local office, since it's a non-political post, at least it should be, kind of like a judgeship.
You know, we agree to retain judges or not, right?
Okay, well, it was intended to be like that.
And so we agreed to back off and say, hey, let Keith run on his own merits.
Let's not have the cesspool overshadow or the fact that Sam Bushman has been attacked by the SPLC or, you know, all these issues.
Let's not let that overshadow who Keith is and what he's trying to accomplish.
And so it was a gentleman's agreement to do that in a meaningful way, literally for the good of the local Tennesseans and for the good of Keith Alexander, letting him be his own man and not be overshadowed by, say, Sam ownership shenanigans or James political cesspool shenanigans.
So Keith Alexander said Memphis has a choice right now.
He can either become Detroit or we can become Austin, Texas.
He was at a Midtown Republican club local meeting and the people loved him.
I'll tell you about that before they inserted their manipulative agenda for destruction politics.
We'll talk about it in seconds.
Good sense in a sense.
Getting the kids to school, cleaning the house, doing the laundry, it seems that the work routine as a stay-at-home mom is never ending.
And even though I'm the prime grocery shopper in our family of four, I simply don't have time to scrutinize all the labels on the countless food products I buy.
Oh, sure, I've noticed all the latest certification seals, organic, non-GMO, gluten-free.
It definitely seems to be the latest craze.
But it was only recently that kosher certification seals caught my attention.
You see, my husband had me download an app called Koch Certified, and it shed light on a century-old certification industry that slipped under the radar screen from the majority of our public.
I also noticed a question mark at the end of the app name.
And that makes great sense as there's far more questions regarding this industry than answers.
In fact, the developers refer to this as the kosher question.
Sure, I'm a busy mom and didn't pay attention to our food culture, but now I have transparency, a convenient grocery list feature, and the ability to eat in favor of my family's best interests.

Scott Bradley here.
Most Americans are painfully aware that the nation is on the wrong track and in dire straits.
Unfortunately, most political pundits only nibble around the edges when they claim to address the issues.
Even worse, many of the so-called solutions are simply rewarmed servings of what got us into the mess we currently face.
And the politicians think we're so gullible and naive that we'll buy their lies that they have reformed and now understand where they led us astray.
Unfortunately, the truth of the matter is that they simply wish to continue to hold power.
The solution to America's challenges is found in returning to the timeless principles found in the United States Constitution.
My book and lecture series will reawaken in Americans an understanding and love of the principles which made this nation the freest, most prosperous, happiest, and most respected nation on earth.

And now back to tonight's show.
All right, folks, it's James Edwards and Sam Bushman breaking down the Keith Alexander situation.
And we're doing so in a meaningful way.
So we tried to take politics out of it.
We tried to really realize that Memphis on the local level has a choice right now.
They can either become Detroit or become Austin, as Keith Alexander wisely put it out at a Midtown local Republican meeting.
Memphis has the same problems Detroit did.
A high tax rate, pension shortfalls, lack of revenue, and people leaving.
Like Austin, he said, we have a lot going for us.
We have a lot of creative good people.
We have a lot of amenities in our area.
Alexander votes, we go in the path of Austin.
He thinks that as property tax assessor, he can help that happen.
He says, I live in Central Gardens.
I bought a house for $150,000 years ago, but now it's worth $500,000.
I want to write this problem that many in Shelby County have.
So he decided to run for county assessor or tax assessor.
He says, I'm a lawyer and I can make $50,000 plus more running for a judgeship.
But assessor is a key position for economic prosperity.
So see, we don't want the political cesspool.
We don't want the Southern Poverty Law Center tainting what Keith is talking about.
And he went to this meeting and everybody loved him.
They even agreed to put signs in their yards and everything, folks.
Anyway, Alexander believes that politicians have used the property assessments or the tax assessments to target certain areas for more financial revenue.
They want to do that under the radar, if you will.
In other words, hey, can politicians turn this political and decide some Mimpians pay more?
If elected, Keith Alexander said to this Midtown Republican local meeting, if elected, I would see that there would be fairness across the board.
Every part of Shelby County needs to be appraised fairly.
Alexander sees that as a reason that many people are fleeing to other counties.
So he compares these local counties.
He says, take a look at Shelby County versus Fayette County.
Shelby has the highest property county tax in the state.
We pay $9 tax per thousand.
And in Fayette, they pay $1.47.47.
Why would people want to stay here?
We need to draw them back in.
And then it talks about he previously ran for a judgeship in 2006.
They say he's an incredible scholar of Rhodes College.
He got his jurisprudence or JD from the University of Mississippi.
And after the meeting, he spoke with some of the members personally.
And he asked if they wanted yard signs.
So this author says, I gave him my address.
And the next morning, the yard sign that I had agreed to take was already in my front yard.
Yard signs in Bartlett, Tennessee support Keith Alexander for property assessor.
And then he finishes his comments.
This local guy that was at this meeting, again in the press, right, says, if he's that efficient as property tax assessor, the city will do well.
All right.
Now that's how it all went.
It was a local discussion.
It was a discussion about fairness across the board.
It was almost like a judgeship.
We wanted to take politics out of it because we felt like that would do the most justice for the local Tennesseans there and give them a chance to assess Keith Alexander on his own merits.
Okay, just because I'm a political talk show host and the Southern Party Law Center says I'm a racist and all this, do I get a chance to let people know who I am as a person?
Or am I just defined by that narrow niche?
Okay, I spend more time on radio than anybody.
It's 12 hours a week myself, Monday through Saturday, two hours a day.
But 12 hours a week is nothing compared to what I spend in my day job with my family.
In other words, all these different aspects of who I am as a person.
Are we going to let people see Keith as who he is on the local level?
Are we just going to taint it and say James is a racist?
David Duke's a racist.
Sam's a racist.
Keith is a racist.
And that's the end now.
And so we did our very best to give the Tennesseans a fair chance to meet with Keith, shake his hand, give him a hug, learn what he has to say, ask him probing questions, all the things that would make it non-political but appropriate for a discussion.
Well, they then intentionally at the mainstream press, remember, he who owns the media makes the rules, they literally betrayed that.
And they said, former radio host with nationalist ties wants to become county assessor.
So now they're basically inserting their political takedown move.
Remember, he who owns the media makes the rules.
But I'll give you a comparison of what the media did to me to illustrate what they have done to Keith Alexander.
I submit to you dishonestly as I'll get out as Donald Trump says they are some of the most dishonest people you will ever meet.
However, here's what happened to me.
I went to the peaceful rally, as we've told you on the radio before, January 2nd, 2016, up in Oregon.
And I led that peaceful rally with Ammon Bundy, Richard Mack, Kurt Crosby, my co-host, and others.
And they took a photo of us leading that rally.
And in that photo, Kurt and those other guys had hats on, but I had my face completely open because it was a freezing cold, single digits.
Anyway, and so they took that picture.
Now, I wrote a press release saying I supported the rally completely, but I reject the Malheur wildlife refuge takeover that Amon Bundy and those guys did.
I still think the world of Amin Bundy, but I did not agree with the occupying of that situation.
So I wrote a press release to that effect and published it.
The mainstream press took the photo from the rally, ignored my press release, and literally released a takeover the Malheur Wildlife Refuge story.
They didn't mention my name in the story because I'd get sued for slander.
You know how I am.
I'll go after those folks big time.
But what they did is they just put my picture on the story.
So they didn't lie, but by inference, they made it sound like I was part of that or look like I was part of that takeover.
Completely, absolutely 100% dishonest reporting.
Well, I submit to you now, they basically waited till the last minute to launch this attack on Keith and on James and on me as the network owner, really.
And they literally parsed to manipulated Keith's words completely out of context.
And what we need to be very careful about is that we don't accept the mainstream press's narrative as our own.
Okay, I'm telling you right now, don't do that, folks, because the mainstream press is, again, manipulating things.
They didn't say that I was part of the Mal Here Wildlife Refuge Takeover.
They just put my picture all over the front of it as if I was the leader of it.
James Edwards, that's how dishonest these people are.
And so we need to really take heed when we want to look at the mainstream press and what they've written about Keith and say that's the narrative we're going to accept.
I'm telling you right now, don't do it because you'll just fall for their trap.
Well, I don't think anybody needs any convincing here, Sam, how evil and how full of lies and manipulations the establishment press is.
There's no doubt about that.
Course, we've talked about it before that at our very family-friendly Nathan Vincent Forrest rally in 2015, where there were over 500 people there-men, women, children, doctors, lawyers, etc.
Not even a piece of trash was left after the 500 dispersed.
But there was a picture of Eddie Miller that was picked up by the AP, and that picture was used to illustrate stories about Klan rallies that had nothing to do with what we were doing.
And then, of course, pictures of actual Klan rallies were used to illustrate stories about American Renaissance.
But this is the press.
But why we're bringing that up is, of course, you read some of the articles that have been written about Keith's candidacy, and they could leave you scratching your head.
Know this.
Know this: we will not let the press separate brothers.
And nothing throughout this whole thing, I've said it before and I've said it again, nothing throughout this entire candidacy from December before he announced all the way through his defeat in the primary caught me off guard.
We were in constant talk with Keith every week and, in fact, multiple times a week.
And so you ask again, why not bring him back after the end of the campaign?
Well, it's a fair question.
Here's an interesting thing to think about, though.
They, on one hand, act like he's a right-wing extremist, a nobody, a belligerent racist with the cesspool.
They go on and on and on and on about how awful he is, but they also contradict themselves in the article, and I'm here to catch them at it.
Here's what they say: they say Alexander is not just another disgruntled Trump of the alt-right.
He is a seasoned politician running for office and wants your vote.
How can they have it both ways?
Let's start there and come back to James's point.
Pursuing Liberty, using the Constitution as our guide.
You're listening to Liberty News Radio.
Okay, girls, about finished with your lesson on money?
Daddy, what is a buy-sell spread for gold coins?
Well, when you sell a gold coin to a coin shop that's worth, say, $1,200, you don't actually get $1,200.
But don't worry, we're members of UPMA now, so we don't have to worry about that.
Daddy, why is somebody sealed that gold?
We don't have any gold at the house.
It's stored safely in the UPMA vault, securely and insured.
But the SP 500 outperformed gold.
Daddy, gold is a bad investment.
Some people do think of it that way, but actually, gold is money.
And as members of the United Precious Metals Association, we can use our gold at any store, just like a credit card.
Or I can ask them to drop it right into Mommy and Daddy's bank account because we're a UPMA member family.
Find out more at upma.org.
That's upma.org.
If Planned Parenthood were what they publicly declare themselves to be, they would welcome transparency.
We all know why they hide because we know what they hide.
We can confirm federal judges who follow the Constitution rather than reverse engineer their preferred policy outcomes.
The truth about abortion is spreading because of advances in medical imaging, because of brave journalists, tireless activists, compassionate doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
The rising generation of young Americans is the most pro-life in decades because they know too.
And one day soon, we will reaffirm our nation's principles in their dignified fullness and avow once again that all men are created equal.
All are entitled to life.

We must have our independence from Washington, D.C. and the globalists.

Okay, folks, I will tell you this.
When it was decided that Keith was going to run for office at the end of December, I was slightly concerned with how I would feel the show.
I mean, Keith, other than myself, Keith has spent a lot more hours on the political festival than anybody else in the world.
And I think there's maybe two weeks a year that I miss.
If I'm on a vacation or at a special event, I'm here about 50 out of 52 weeks.
And I think that's about the same for Keith.
And I was a little concerned losing a guy that was helping me cover an hour or two hours of the show every single week.
But I think the show has moved on without skipping a beat at all.
And that's the testament to fantastic guests.
When Keith told me he was going to be running for office and would be out until August, I started feverishly working in early January to book the shows all the way through eight months in advance.
Now, you got to be saying, well, no, what are you talking about?
You're telling me you booked Henry Comgren to talk about Trump and Putin in January before you ever even knew there was going to be a summit.
No, that's not what I'm telling you.
What I'm telling you is we booked guests eight months in advance.
And they were on the books.
And we were just going to, of course, let whatever was in the news at the time warrant the invitation when their time came up.
But yes, we booked shows out months in advance.
And then, of course, we knew we were going to have several events we're going to be speaking at.
We'd be covering those events.
And then we had the situation with my church, which actually preempted even some of our plans.
We didn't expect that.
And then that lasted a couple of weeks.
But we filmed the show quite fine.
And we decided to go ahead and just stick to the schedule of bringing Keith back in August because that was the plan.
And another thing is, with Keith having been out because of his campaign, we knew it would take at least an hour of airtime to give you a full and comprehensive explanation as to why he was out.
And we knew we didn't have.
And another thing is, well, I just want to remind you again that our decision to not make mention of Keith association with the political festival knew that the political festival would overshadow Keith Alexander in the press.
And we didn't want that to be the case.
And we knew the press would pick up on it eventually as they did.
And it was worse even than we imagined.
And we've been through a lot, but we didn't want to hate him that day.
We wanted to give him the chance to be his own man and run without having back it, of course.
Keith is a true believer in our cause and is grateful for his association with but they became laser-like focus and define Keith as, hey, you know, he's basically a David Duke lapdog, and that's the only discussion we're going to have, and so he's not worthy of being your tax assessor.
And that's not a fair representation for the mainstream press.
They lie, they slander you, they're liable.
I mean, look, who wants to be involved with the KKK leader James Edwards?
Okay, so that's the lies that they tell.
And here's the point: I just want to know, James, when did you quit beating your wife?
Exactly.
All right, that's the narrative that they're trying to put around Keith.
And so they said, Are you a white supremacist?
Of course, Keith says, No, absolutely not.
Okay, none of us would claim to be white supremacists.
Okay, we believe that we have the right to celebrate our heritage.
We're willing to be candid about there are differences in race, but that doesn't mean we're a white supremacist or that we hate anybody.
So you're a hater.
The Southern Poverty Law Center, they trot out, who's been discredited big time, says that James is a hater.
Keith is a hater.
And Keith, you know, he's this seasoned politician.
Now, how seasoned of a politician is Keith?
Is he really a mainstream seasoned Republican politician like they say?
Well, I don't know, but I know this.
I've been around the cesspool for 10 years now, syndicator of it for nine.
And I'm telling you, I haven't seen this seasoned politician in office everywhere as a top Republican, top dog, or anything else.
So they lie and try to have it both ways.
Don't let this seasoned politician racist enter your tent.
Well, if he's so seasoned, then how did he get so seasoned?
And if he's not so seasoned, they lied.
And so the problem is they create this narrative that you will never win, James.
Never.
So then they say, Have you broke ties with the cesspool and have you broke ties with the FCC or CFCC?
He says, Well, I have broke ties with the CSCC.
I'm no longer with them.
I moved on from them a long time ago.
Now they write that he left everybody and moved on a long time ago.
That's not what Keith said.
So behind the scenes, I've talked to Keith a lot about this.
They're manipulating his words.
They're throwing everybody under the bus.
They're trying to say a seasoned politician rejects white supremacy, or they're trying to say he's a white supremacist, therefore he can't be the politician.
He doesn't deserve your vote.
In both cases, they lie.
The truth is in the middle.
The truth is, we tried to take politics out of a non-political position that Keith was running for.
The truth is, we tried to not have a mixing so that Keith got overshadowed by the Southern Poverty Law Center's lies about all of us.
Well, the bottom line is they did what they always do.
Keith probably would have won.
He got 40% of the vote.
Nevertheless, that's incredible.
But what they did is they made the takedown move.
He who owns the media makes the rules.
And we're here to prove it again.
People still believe all over the mainstream press, all over the world, that I led the takeover of the Mount Here Wildlife Refuge, and I wasn't even there.
In fact, I was on the political cesspool telling you that I denounced it while they were literally using my picture to suggest I was the leader of it.
James Edwards is the Klan leader, and I'm the leader of the Mount Here Wildlife Takeover.
And Keith hates all of you.
And he jettisons every one of you.
See, that's the big lie.
I'm not falling for it, and I highly recommend you don't either.
James?
Well, what more can be said, Sam, except for the fact that, again, this has been something that we have been working with and have had complete and full disclosure about over the course of the last eight months.
And now the time has come, based upon our original schedule, to bring Keith back.
And of course, we couldn't do that without a full and extensive explanation.
And we're going to do it in a couple of minutes, huh?
Yeah, I think we are.
All right.
And by the way, a couple of other things they said in all these articles written about Keith and everything else.
I think I find it fascinating.
They love to tell you how awful Keith is and tell you all about Keith in their articles, but they don't tell you about Keith.
And I made this point on my radio program a couple weeks ago or a little bit ago where I said, hey, why does everybody want to tell me what Ammon thinks?
And Ammon Bundy says.
And why don't I hear from Ammon?
And we're going to do exactly that.
Why are we going to all tell you everything everybody else says about Keith and paint Keith in their narrative?
Why don't we take back the narrative for a second and say, why don't you guys hear from Keith?
He'll tell you what he was doing and why.
He'll tell you.
And I'm convinced that it was a brilliant strategy to say, listen, I'm going to be non-political here.
I'm going to meet with the people.
They literally asked him to put yard signs in their yard when they saw the real Keith.
Shook his hand, looked him in the eye, heard what he had to say on the local level, heard what he would try to accomplish if he were elected.
They loved him.
And they asked for him to put signs in their yards.
He was so efficient when they woke up in the morning, they had signs just like they asked for.
And they said, man, if he runs the assessor's office that appropriately, that, you know, efficiently, man, this is the guy we want.
And then all of a sudden, oh, the Southern Poverty Law Center gets to dictate the narrative?
I don't think so, folks.
Eddie and Keith would go out and drop these yard signs.
I mean, he had hundreds of yard signs all throughout Shelby County.
Of course, again, one thing that shouldn't be mentioned, one thing that should be mentioned again is even with, I'm talking about on the Sunday before the election back in May, there were three articles about Keith in the Commercial Appeal newspaper, the Sunday edition, three articles in the same day.
And there were articles for about a week straight.
They dropped this right before the election as if this hack scab reporter all of a sudden found out Keith was with the political festival.
Isn't it amazing?
He just found out about it like three days before the election.
I mean, they knew about it the whole time.
They were sitting on it.
But it made national news.
It was on TV every night here.
And even with that constant condemnation that Keith was receiving for having associated with us, he still got 40% of the vote.
And they literally blatantly, publicly said, we don't care if the people elect him.
We're still going to kick him out of the party and kick him out of his position.
We're not even going to uphold the duly elected law.
They literally published that they were going to election Tamper.
The local Shelby County chairman said even if Keith, even if they elect Keith, that they would remove him, work to remove him from his office.
I think he's not a bona fide Republican.
That just shows how unhinged and dishonest and immoral and law-breaking and narrative manipulating these dishonest thugs really are.
And they literally tell you he's a seasoned politician.
Well, if he's a seasoned politician, who has he been hanging around the whole time?
Them?
All the insiders?
The Republican Party?
Where did he become such a seasoned politician, folks?
Now, I'm not doubting Keith.
He's incredibly smart and he's valuable.
I'm just mentioning they can't have it both ways.
But what they do is they wordsmith their articles and they paint pictures of flat out, complete, utter dishonesty.
And that's what they've done here.
And you know what?
We're not going to fall for it.
We're not going to let that narrative stand.
We're not going to let them divide brothers.
We're not going to let them manipulate the truth.
We're going to stand for the truth.
And I had one slight beef with Keith that I talked about with him personally.
And I'll just give you a 30-second of it.
I said, Keith, the problem with the narrative is when the mainstream press comes out like they did to you and the story's different and we have agreed not to really talk about it because we want to keep it a non-political thing.
What if they call me?
I'm left either to throw you to the wolves or to speak out against them boldly.
I'm not comfortable with being in that.
And Keith looked at me and completely apologized.
He said, you know what, Sam?
You're right.
I should have included you in all the details.
I shouldn't have, you know, after the interview, I should have completely called and let you know what was happening.
I didn't.
You have my complete apology.
It'll never happen again.
And that's when I realized how honest Keith was being, how moral the discussions are.
A lot of times it's how you see the situation.
Do you see the glass half full or half empty or what?
And I realized that, hey, he's willing to do the right thing.
We tried for a goal and the enemies of liberty wouldn't have anything of it.
Keith in seconds.
Abby Johnson was once director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Bryan, Texas.
After a moral crisis, she quit and now she campaigns against what she once endorsed.
They implement abortion quotas in all of their clinics.
What do you mean, quotas?
You have to perform a certain number of abortions every month.
One of the reasons that I left about that?
Yes.
It's in your budget, right there on the line item.
One of the reasons I left Planned Parenthood was because in a budget meeting, I was told to double that abortion quota.
And for me, as someone who had spoken to the media and had said, you know, we're about reducing the number of abortions.
We're about, you know, prevention, all these other services, I was shocked.
So since you actually worked at a Planned Parenthood, give us some sense of the relative number of abortions.
Okay.
Abortions Planned Parenthood provides over 330,000 abortions a year.
They are the largest single abortion provider in our country.

together together welcome back To get on the show, call us on James's Dime at 1-866-986-6397.
That being said, it is my great pleasure and privilege to welcome back home for the first time since December 30th, 2017, Keith Alexander to TPC.
Keith, welcome home.
And it is great to be back at full strength and have the entire band back together again going forward forevermore.
Well, thank you, James.
I'm looking forward to it as well.
It was, like the Grateful Dead said, what a strange, wild ride it was, but it was a ride nonetheless.
And I think it's something that, quite frankly, people like us need to do.
We need to have some political power.
And I saw an opportunity here.
I had run before for the position and won the primary and lost in the general election to a Democratic incumbent.
So it was just too tempting an opportunity to pass up.
And I thought that I had figured out what they were using this office for and could have really been of a service to the population as a whole had I won it.
But that was not to be.
But on the other hand, it was never my intention to turn my back on our show or the principles that we stand for on this show.
And I want everybody to know that.
Well, I appreciate you saying that, Keith.
And as I said, you're back in the Briar Patch now and you're here to stay.
And it's great at full strength that we need, we don't have bodies to spare, as it were, but we especially don't have the resources.
I was saying earlier in the hour, your ability to do what you do in breaking down stories and offering commentary is really, as far as I'm concerned, the best that we've got.
I mean, up there on a Buchanan-esque level.
So it's great to have you back on the show, back home, as it were.
And I'm sure Sam agrees with me on that.
I know Sam has.
The mainstream press really tried to create a lot of confusion surrounding this, intentionally so.
And that's why I'm rejecting their narrative so forcefully.
They tried to create confusion, and they want you to believe that James is a KKK head figure.
And they want you to believe that Sam Bushman took over the Malheur Wildlife Refuge.
They want you to believe Keith is our enemy.
See, none of these things are true.
And you know what?
I don't want to apologize for the mainstream press.
I think they're thugs.
But I am sorry there's confusion, though.
Well, all I can say is that we need to have a voice.
The problem is that, for example, our newspaper is very liberal.
We call it the Communist Appeal here in Memphis.
Its real name is the Commercial Appeal.
But you name a major American city for me that has a conservative newspaper, daily newspaper.
I can't think of any now.
It used to be that Manchester, New Hampshire had one, but I understand that's gone by the boards now.
And since the left has all the microphones, they set the narrative.
And unfortunately, a lot of people just absorb this misinformation like sponges.
That's one of the reasons why I think we need political power if we're going to turn things around and why I've always said that Trump is eventually going to fall prey to them unless he takes over one of the big news networks like CNN or MSNBC or PBS or ABC, NBC, CBS, because the left has a virtual monopoly on information.
And that's what people like us run into basically on the daily.
basis.
We're up here like Radio Free Europe trying to beam in truth in a sea of lies.
James?
Well, right.
I think I was waiting on you to chime in, Sam.
Well, of course, that's the truth.
And the media really did a double dip on Keith and the way that they amalgamated some of his comments.
And again, we know what was going on because we were in touch before, during, and after the interview.
But at once, they wanted people to believe that he was a white supremacist.
Just in case that would uh, uh encourage we don't call ourselves that, obviously that's that's their term but in case that would uh, be a buzzword to people who in in in the local community, who aren't, who don't, who aren't filled with self-interest.
They wanted you know that he was at once uh, a very bad guy, but not even one that uh, that uh, whites should vote for.
So it was, it was double dip on Keith and it was uh, as Keith said, it was, it was, it was, it was a wild ride, but it's been eight months and it's time to to get on with the good work that we do here.
So sam, with that being said, back to you well, it's something that we need to understand and again, we need to really all double down and apologize for the confusion.
Part of the confusion was caused by our silence um, but i'm going to justify our silence a little bit by saying this, you know they sprung the details on us in terms of a dishonest nature at the last little bit.
At first it was going well and they loved Keith Alexander.
He had real reason to believe that he could, you know, be in this office, and we have every reason to understand that this should be a non-political office.
This shouldn't be where, if i'm a Republican, the Democrat gets elected that I fear my taxes are going to go up because i'm in the wrong quote sector of society or the wrong neighborhood.
You know this is very political folks and we tried to be the honorable folks in this and not add to the politicizing of this office.
And Keith literally talked about how he wanted to.
He realized what they were using this office for.
This is something that you got to mention, Keith.
You realized what they were using the office for and you thought you could literally take that out of the political realm right right, somebody wrote into uh on the comments on the Amran article about uh, the Commercial Appeal articles on me that came out right at the 11th and a half hour basically.
Um, they came out on saturday morning with an election on monday, so there's no chance to refute them.
And they came out then because, based on inside information, I got early voting ended on the thursday and I was ahead in the primary and they decided at that point that i'd stopped preaching and started meddling.
There was a chance that I might really get in there and upset their apple cart.
So they dropped the bomb on me.
But the reason I was running for this the assessor's office.
It said in that article in Amran, or the one of the comments, why would Keith give up his position for some anonymous little down ballot position?
Well, it's a very key down ballot position, uh.
A person uh that agreed with me on this is a guy that writes under the name Yig Drossel.
He said these assessor's offices are the most charged with sovereignty positions that you can get in a down ballot race because they control the money.
The money in a place like Tennessee that doesn't have a income tax 60 of the money runs state, county and local government comes from the property tax.
The property tax has two variables, tax rate and tax base.
The tax rate is set by a legislative body, is therefore subject to a sunshine law, and because it's subject to a sunshine law, the politicians don't want to touch it because if they increase it which is what they really want to do it's going to be known and they're going to pay for it in the next election.
But where all the dirty work is done is in the assessor's office, which sets the tax base.
My observation about the Memphis and Shelby County assessor's office is that they routinely overvalue people's property and not just people in the suburbs, but all over.
And they do this so they get under the radar tax increases by overvaluing the property.
If you can keep the tax rate the same, and if you double the value of the property base, then you double the tax burden on the owner of the property.
So I figured out what they were doing, and I was going to be an advocate for the typical homeowner and small business person.
All of the couple of minutes remaining, obviously, there was a distinct minority of voters who did see what was going on there.
And even with this onslaught of national news just the weekend before the election, you still managed to pull 40% of the vote in a contested primary.
Your thoughts on your vote total, even in light of the incessant drumbeat that was going on here in the local press and even in the national press, just those the last couple of days before.
Well, I think people that think like us should take great heart in this because they hit me with their best punch.
And I still wound up getting around 40% of the vote, which, you know, Newsweek pointed out.
They said, you know, this is alarming that a quote-unquote white nationalist candidate can get 40% in a place like Memphis, Tennessee.
Well, we have more power than we think we have.
And I don't think that these charges really affected a lot of people's votes anyway.
I've, you know, I've gotten very little blowback from people that I know, people that I run into professionally or in normal social context about this.
And I think that the left is not nearly as powerful, or their views are not nearly as pervasive as they would like to think they are.
And I think we should take heart from it.
40% of the vote in light of the way you are being presented by the press in a place like Memphis, which isn't demographically kind to white conservatives, that is impressive.
And that is something that people should tuck away as we move off with this story and go into the good work of the future.
Sam, final word to you.
Take it to the wall.
Remember, the mainstream press is not to be trusted in every other venue.
Why should we trust them when it comes to one of our own?
