Time Text
You're listening to the Liberty News Radio Network, and this is the Political Cesspool.
The Political Cesspool, known across the South and worldwide as the South's foremost populist conservative radio program.
And here to guide you through the murky waters of the political test pool is your host, James Edwards.
Celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
This is a very special Easter presentation of our radio program.
And tonight we welcome back to the show to help us put an emphasis on the true meaning of this weekend, the one and only Pastor John Weaver.
It has been seven years since Pastor Weaver's last appearance with us, and we are glad to break that drought this evening.
And we will never go that long again.
That much I can tell you.
Pastor Weaver, a native of Georgia, is a graduate from Bob Jones University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in theology.
He has been in the Christian ministry for over 40 years.
During that time, he has pastored and helped plant several churches and Christian schools around the country.
And he joins us this evening to, well, for a couple of reasons.
Certainly to share the Easter message, but also to discuss with us the current state of the church in America.
Pastor Weaver, thank you so much for coming back with us.
How are you tonight?
I'm fine, and thank you so much.
And it has been a while since I've been on, and the last little bio you got was probably from a long time ago because now I've been preaching for 53 years.
Wow.
I guess we could say 40 plus and it would still be honest.
But 53.
Well, actually, that leads into my first question tonight.
53 years now in the ministry.
For the benefit of those who weren't listening seven years ago, give us a little more, before we get started tonight, give us a little more information about your background, your personal background, your educational background, your theological background, and of course, your current position in your current ministry.
Well, the truth of the matter is I was raised on a farm in South Georgia and I worked on a farm and my wife and I met and married when we were 18.
And by the way, I think that teenage marriage is going to work because we're now going on 56 years together.
And I'm thankful for that.
And so after the Lord saved me and called me to preach, I did go to Bob Jones University.
I graduated from there, went back to our graduate school some there.
And I've just been preaching and studying, I guess, all these years.
And I was just really thankful for the Lord's blessing and hand and leadership in my life.
And I'm just grateful to be alive and to have health and be able to serve him.
Amen, Pastor.
And it's so good to talk to a man of God who, frankly, is sensible in this day and age.
And it's just a shame.
I shared with my audience via social media that my prayer this Easter weekend is that we will have a masculine Christianity return to America like we see in Eastern Europe because it seems as though so many of, and I have to put this in quotations, or say so-called leaders have truly betrayed the faith of our fathers here in America.
And I know that this is Easter weekend and our focal point is to talk about the resurrection, talk about the promise of Jesus Christ and what that means to all people.
And we're going to get to that a little later this hour.
But first, my co-host is Eddie the Bombardier Miller, two tours of duty in Vietnam, a proud son of the South, a Christian as well.
And Eddie, I would like to give you the opportunity before we really sink our teeth into this hour with Pastor Weaver to welcome the pastor to the show tonight, the Easter Eve, if you will, or the Eve of the Resurrection, as we should be calling it.
Welcome the pastor to the show and share with us your memories of the song we played during the intro.
Thank God for you, Pastor.
I'm so glad you came on.
I've been waiting for this show all week, ever since I found out you were coming on.
And like James mentioned, I guess I was born and bred in combat.
But, you know, we have to remember that in the end, if we're alive, when we're lying on that bed and we have maybe a week to live, our country's not going to matter.
Mama Mapple Paul is not going to matter.
Our family is probably not going to be the most pressing question, the most pressing question out there, people, is going to be, where are you going to spend all eternity after you die?
Secondly, Pastor, I came to Christ very late in life.
I'll be 71 years old, April the 6th, and I was saved.
I was rescued.
The Lord Jesus Christ took my head and slammed it in the concrete to get my attention because I'm hard-headed.
February of the 8th of 2009.
I haven't been the same since.
I'll backslide.
But I really do.
And I wanted to tell James to comment on the show, Victory in Jesus.
I was at a dear friend's funeral, her father's funeral, five years ago.
The first time I heard that song, and I told everybody, I heard this the most amazing song, Victory in Jesus.
And they said, you mean you never heard that song before?
But I was a new Christian.
But, Pastor, thank God.
I'm so glad you came on tonight.
You made my week, Pastor.
Well, amen.
Well, the victory is in the Lord Jesus Christ.
He has defeated all enemies, even death and hell.
And any victory we have is certainly in him.
He is Lord of lords and king of kings.
Well, that he is.
And yeah, Victory in Jesus.
That was a song I think I came out of the womb singing.
I was born into the Southern Baptist Church back when the Southern Baptist Church was actually Southern.
And so that was a while ago.
I'm 30 and Baptist, for that matter.
I'm 38 now.
I was 65.
I thought it was a brand new song.
I never heard it before.
Anyway, Pastor, if you don't mind, obviously you're brought on tonight to talk about something far more important than any contemporary political issue.
But I do know your background, and I think you know ours.
And we honor our fathers and our mothers.
And our fathers and our mothers here in the South fought for their nation.
They were our Confederate heroes.
And you see now, even in the churches in the South, the leadership saying that it is demonic, in fact, demonic to have a pride in your ancestry and that the Confederate flag and the Christian cross cannot coexist without one setting the other on fire.
How would you respond to that?
Well, actually, the truth of the matter is the Confederate flag is indeed the Christian flag because it has the St. Andrew's cross on it and St. Andrews, of course, was the first disciple of Jesus Christ.
And the reason it has the quote-unquote X on it is because that is the kind of cross that Andrew was crucified on when he was going to be crucified.
Obviously, he said he did not believe himself that he should be crucified.
Pastor, I am so sorry to interrupt you.
I asked that question far too late in the segment.
Our commercial breaks coming up.
I will repose the question to Pastor John Weaver and give him the opportunity to deliver an extended answer when we come back.
Stay tuned.
Liberty is not free.
Its costs are innumerable.
Without monetary funding, the valiant efforts of freedom-loving Americans become diminished or outright defeated.
We present a solution, the Give Me Liberty Fund.
The plan is quite simple: invite individual Americans to contribute less than a dollar a day.
These monetary funds are used to promote liberty-minded media, organizations, events, candidates, movements, and speakers.
In the spirit of transparency, all expenditures are published.
Patriotic business owners provide discounted products and services to Give Me Liberty Fund members.
Our greatest strength is in numbers.
Go to GiveMeLibertyFund.com and become part of the solution today.

Participate in the peaceful restoration of the greatest and freest country in the world.
Ladies and gentlemen, what is the KQ?
You know, the kosher question.
Most Americans purchase their groceries while having no idea that almost every essential food product on the shelves is certified kosher by one of over a thousand rabbinical agencies across the country.
Indeed, the kosher question encompasses not only food and religion, but also affects our economics and politics.
In an effort to promote awareness to this kosher question, developers have recently published an app for your smartphone that will not only educate users on this little-known phenomenon, but also features a database of food products that have not been kosher certified.
The CoCertified app has prominent advertisements on TPC's homepage, or you can check out its website at co-certified.com.
Wouldn't it be proof to start eating in favor of your own interests?
The CoCertified app will be your start.
Download it now at co-certified.com.

And now back to tonight's show.
All right, I want to repose the question to Pastor Weaver, and I apologize to both our guests in the audience for asking that question.
A very important question so late and not giving him the appropriate amount of time to answer it.
But I would say this first before I re-ask the question.
I am very proud of my heritage as a southerner.
I am proud of my Christian and my Confederate ancestors who fought to defend their nation and their families.
And I was down in Biloxi, as you well know, ladies and gentlemen who have listened to the show this month.
I was down in Biloxi with my wife and my children a couple of weeks ago, and we went back down to Beauvoir.
And I heard the story there about Jefferson Davis, President Davis.
Now, this is just one of hundreds of examples that I could choose to illustrate, but I'll say it again.
All four of Jefferson Davis's children preceded him in death.
And so a newspaper came, a newspaper reporter came down to ask, to interview Jefferson Davis after the war.
They asked him, has your faith in Christ been shaken in light of the fact that your four sons have already died?
And he said, no.
He said, no, sir.
He said, God is more wise and more merciful than I am.
God knew that there was something in my children's future that was worse than death.
So he called them home early.
And for that, I thank him.
I thank him because I know that I'll be reunited with them in heaven.
As a father of two, that shakes me up every time I even repeat the story.
That is just one example.
Just one example.
These were Christian men.
These were men of honor.
These were men of faith.
These are the men that I think we should hold up as heroes.
Now, I know our salvation doesn't lie in Jefferson Davis or Robert E. Lee or Nathan Bedford Forrest or Stonewall Jackson.
But if we're going to choose people to live like, it should be these people.
Am I right or am I wrong, Pastor?
And so with that, I repose the question.
Now, even the Southern Baptist Church says to hold such people up as heroes is demonic and that the Confederate flag cannot coexist with the Christian cross without setting it on fire.
Take it away, Pastor.
Well, very obviously, the Christian flag is a Christian flag, but so is also the cross of St. Andrews.
When you talk about flags, you have to remember the Confederacy had the stars and bars.
It had the second national, had the third national.
And then when it came to the best known battle flag, of course, it was indeed the Southern Cross or the St. Andrews Cross.
There were hundreds, literally hundreds of different battle flags.
But the battle flag, as you and I know it, did not even come into existence until during July or after July of 1861.
Because when Beauregard was fighting there at the Battle of First Manassas, there was a confusion between the American flag, the stars and stripes, and the Confederate flag, the stars and bars.
And during the smoke and during the turmoil, Beauregard saw a group of men moving and he could not discern who they were.
They were so far away.
And he looked through his field glasses and could not discern and handed it to a lieutenant.
They could not discern.
Finally, he got him back, and he saw the stars and bars.
He said, that's our men we have today.
And so, of course, after the South won first Manassas, then Beauregard put in to have a battle flag that was designed that would not be viewed as possibly the stars and stripes.
It had to be absolutely totally different.
And, of course, it did not come into existence, like I said, until after that.
It was Colonel William Porcher Miles who actually designed it.
And there was Colonel Walton also who gave another rendition with the Latin cross.
But it was Colonel Porcher Miles with the St. Andrew's cross that was one chosen by Beauregard.
And the truth of the matter is this.
When you start looking at the Confederate battle flag, you've got to do a little bit of research.
And here's what I've come up with.
The red field represents the blood of Jesus Christ.
The white border represents the protection of God.
The blue X represents, of course, the cross of St. Andrew, the first disciple of Jesus Christ, and who, by the way, is a patron saint of Scotland.
The 13 stars represented the 13 states of secession.
Thus, the message in that Confederate battle flag is through the blood of Christ, with the protection of God, we the 13 states are united in our Christian fight for liberty and independence.
And it was Samuel Baird of Georgia who wrote a letter concerning the flag to Congressman.
He was also a congressman as well as a colonel, William Porcher Miles, and said the flag should be a token of humble acknowledgement of God and be a public testimony to the world that our trust is in the Lord God.
And of course, that's exactly what the cross of San Andrews is.
Because when Andrew was crucified, he was crucified on an X cross because he did not feel himself worthy to be crucified the way Christ was, even though being crucified the way he was was far more painful and he would die a more slow death.
In fact, he was tied to that cross three days.
And finally, when the order came for him to be cut down, he died as he was being cut down.
But for three days, he preached to everyone who would come by on that cross and see him there.
He was literally tied to it.
And so this flag is indeed a Christian flag.
And this flag has represented liberty, freedom, independence.
It was not a racist flag.
It was not a flag of slavery.
And I will tell you this, no slave ever came into the South under any Confederate flag.
The Confederate flags didn't come into existence until 1861 and after.
That is an outstanding point.
And I would like to echo something that our producer and our owner, our owner, the owner of the network, is actually producing the show tonight.
And he said, it is because it is a Christian flag that the South is so hated and so despised, but now despised even by the leaders of its own church.
Do you find it, oh, I don't know, Pastor, interesting that we are to repudiate the flag of St. Andrew?
You give an excellent testimony as to exactly what that flag means.
And we have covered that before on previous broadcasts of this show.
But do you find it interesting that we are to repudiate the flag of Robert E. Lee while the Southern Baptist Church is hosting a conference next week in honor of Martin Luther King?
Wow.
Wow.
Well, that just shows you how far everyone has gone in apostasy is what it amounts to.
The truth of the matter is, you see, even the Southern Baptist Convention did not come into existence until 1845.
And the reason it came into existence then was because of the Northern Baptists who were indeed calling the Southern Baptists wicked names and saying, we are not going to have communion with you because you have slaves down there.
And incidentally, the slaves came into the South through the North.
There were no Southern slave ships.
They were all Northern slave ships.
Exactly.
And the slaves that came into this country, most of them came under the stars and stripes.
Now, I know that England sold some.
I know that Portugal and Spain and some of the other countries sold some as well.
But most of them, after it got started, came in under the stars and stripes, not under any Confederate flag whatsoever.
Pastor, I'd like to make a comment, too.
I would think most of those ships probably came under the star of the flag of the Star of David.
No, they come under the Star of David.
It's undocumented.
That's a fact.
Most of these slave ships were indeed Jewish-owned.
I mean, that's all there is to it.
In fact, that is how they made their money.
In fact, there are so many books out there.
In fact, there is one book called Complicity.
All right, we're going to hold up right there.
We're going to get the pastor reconnected.
We're coming up to a hard break.
And when we come back, we're going to get off the contemporary political issues of the day and focus on the reason that the pastor was brought on tonight, Pastor John Weaver.
That is to share with you the biblical message, the biblical story of Easter and the Resurrection.
And that's coming up next.
So stay tuned for the most important segment that we're going to have tonight.
Exposing corruption.
Informing citizens.
Pursuing liberty.

Scott Bradley here.
Most Americans are painfully aware that the nation is on the wrong track and in dire straits.
Unfortunately, most political pundits only nibble around the edges when they claim to address the issues.
Even worse, many of the so-called solutions are simply rewarmed servings of what got us into the mess we currently face.
And the politicians think we're so gullible and naive that we'll buy their lies that they have reformed and now understand where they led us astray.
Unfortunately, the truth of the matter is that they simply wish to continue to hold power.
The solution to America's challenges is found in returning to the timeless principles found in the United States Constitution.
My book and lecture series will reawaken in Americans an understanding and love of the principles which made this nation the freest, most prosperous, happiest, and most respected nation on earth.

Okay, girls, about finished with your lesson on money?
Daddy, what is a buy-sell spread for gold coins?
Well, when you sell a gold coin to a coin shop that's worth, say, $1,200, you don't actually get $1,200.
But don't worry, we're members of UPMA now, so we don't have to worry about that.
Daddy, why some of my silver gold?
We don't have any gold at the house.
It's stored safely in the UPMA vault, securely and insured.
But the SP 500 outperformed gold.
Daddy, gold is a bad investment.
Some people do think of it that way, but actually, gold is money.
And as members of the United Precious Metals Association, we can use our gold at any store, just like a credit card.
Or I can ask them to drop it right into Mommy and Daddy's bank account because we're a UPMA member family.

I'm Michael Hill, president of the League of the South.
I and my compatriots are Southern nationalists.
We seek the survival, well-being, and independence of the Southern people, our people.
The League wants a South that enjoys the sweet fruits of Christian liberty and prosperity, but our current situation won't allow it.
We must have our independence from Washington, D.C. and the globalists.
The present system cannot be reformed.
Without independence, we will continue down this path of destruction.
To us, this is not acceptable.
I'm asking you, Southern man and woman, to join us today to free the South.

God save the South.
It's time to jump back into the political cesspool.
To be part of the show and have your voice heard around the world, call us at 1-866-986-6397.
Well, I really appreciate Pastor John Weaver.
Yes.
Pastor John Weaver for illustrating to the audience and for demonstrating to the audience that we are not the only ones who see things as they are.
There are other good people.
There are, in fact, great people.
And I count him as one of them who understands the issues as we understand them.
But I want to put aside contemporary politics right now to talk about the eternal.
And so, Pastor, this is the eve of the resurrection.
This is the day before Jesus rose from the grave and left the tomb.
Let's talk about the biblical message of what we now call Easter.
We call it Resurrection Day.
Many people just call it Easter.
But tell us the biblical accounting of the Easter story, if you will.
Well, obviously, well, let me just mention this about the word Easter.
Actually, the word Easter only occurs one time in the New Testament, and it is actually the word Passover or Pascha.
The word is translated Easter there is Pasca.
It occurs 29 times in the New Testament, and only 20 and 28 of times it's translated as Passover only once Easter.
But, you know, of course, obviously, our Lord not only died, but the Bible tells us that he rose from the dead.
And the interesting thing about when you talk about the Lord Jesus Christ, you must understand that he is not only our sacrifice.
In fact, the Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 5 and verse 7 that even Christ, our Passover, is sacrificed for us.
He's not only our sacrifice, he's our surety.
He stood in our place.
He's our substitute.
And, of course, God sent him, the Bible tells us in Romans 3, 24 and 25, to be a propitiation for our sins.
Let me explain something about that before I make some other statements.
The word propitiation literally means to appease, to placate, to satisfy.
So Jesus Christ then, who is God incarnate, who is the God-man, Jesus Christ came as our surety.
He assured the Father that he would indeed die for his people.
He came as our surety.
He came as our substitute.
He came as our sacrifice.
And when he gave himself a ransom, the Bible tells us, that he actually placated, he appeased the wrath of God, and he satisfied the holiness and the justice of God.
And so since he died and he came into the world being sent by the Father, and he said he came to do the Father's will, he also said, I lay down my life.
No man taketh it from me.
I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.
He said, this commandment I've received of my Father.
And so since he died in such a way as to please and to satisfy the heavenly Father, then obviously when he was buried and put in the tomb, the Bible teaches us very clearly that he was raised from the dead by the power of God.
Now, stop and think about this just for a moment.
If Jesus Christ was nothing more than a mere man, if Jesus Christ was just simply a deceiver, he could not and he would not have been able to raise himself from the dead.
Had he been something other than the Son of God, God the Father would not have raised him from the dead.
So the truth of the matter is the very fact of the resurrection demonstrates that not only is he the Son of God, it demonstrates very clearly that God the Father was pleased with his sacrifice and accepted that sacrifice.
And the resurrection of Jesus Christ actually solidifies and demonstrates a number of major doctrines.
In fact, the Bible tells you in Romans 1 and verse 4, it was this act that declared him to be the Son of God.
When you look in Acts chapter 2, it is this act by which he was declared to be Lord by God the Father.
And let me just point something out about the word Lord.
The word is curios in the Greek, and it literally means Lord, boss, owner, master, sovereign.
So it is pointing out that Jesus Christ is indeed the boss, the master, and the sovereign.
And I don't know really and truly how much time we would have, but I would really like to share some things on the implications of the resurrection.
We could spend all night talking about the proofs of the resurrection, and there are a number of them.
But most people never ever really consider the implications of the resurrection.
And those implications are very, very profound.
When you stop and think that in the book of Acts chapter 4, verses 1 and 2, that the high priest and the rulers there were grieved that the disciples were teaching the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
And then you have to ask, why in the world would they be grieved because they were teaching the resurrection of Jesus Christ?
And the first answer is, because that resurrection was a declaratory act by God, where by God the Father was declaring him to be absolute Lord.
That is why in Acts 2 and verse 36, Peter said, therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made that same Jesus whom you have crucified both Lord and Christ.
So the Bible tells us he is Lord, and that's why he said in Matthew 28 in verse 18, it is, that he has all power given unto him in heaven and earth.
So when you stop and think about the implications of this, just first of all, that means we have to deal personally with Jesus Christ because Jesus Christ is Lord.
Jesus Christ is God.
And the Bible teaches that he is the only mediator between God and man.
So if someone is going to get into the church, I mean the real church, he has to have dealings with Jesus Christ.
If he gets into the kingdom of God, he has to have dealings with Jesus Christ.
Because Jesus Christ is indeed Lord.
That's why he said, come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
That's why he said, all that the Father giveth me shall come unto me, and he that cometh unto me, I shall in no wise cast out.
That's why he said, I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no man cometh to the Father but by me.
And that is why in Ephesians 2 and verse 18, he said, through him we have access to the Father in one spirit.
So obviously, Jesus Christ is Lord, and the resurrection declared him to be that.
So he is the boss.
He is the owner.
He is the master.
He is the sovereign.
Now, I want you to stop and think about this.
This is, you have to remember that Jesus Christ, when he was crucified, was in what we would call the place of humiliation.
And the people did to him as they pleased.
And so when he stood before Pilate, and Pilate is the one who said, I find no fault in him, but the people clamored for him to be crucified.
And the Bible tells you in the book of Luke chapter 23 that then he delivered him, that is Jesus, unto their will.
Now stop and think about this.
When Jesus Christ was in the state of humiliation, when he walked on this earth, they did to him as they willed.
When you go to Acts chapter 2 and verse 36, which I've already quoted, and Peter said, this know that God has made that same Jesus whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
The next question is, asked by the people, men and brethren, what shall we do?
That is, what shall we do in light of these things?
So here's the point.
While he was in the state of humiliation, they did to him as he willed, or as they willed.
Now that he is the risen, resurrected, Lord of glory, they are in his hand, and he can do with them as he wills.
So no wonder they were terrified.
No wonder they were saying, men and brethren, what shall we do in light of what Peter has just told us?
He is Lord.
This is just one of the implications.
That is why even in Psalm 2, the Bible tells people, kiss the son, lest he be angry with thee, and you perish in the way when his wrath is kindled but a little.
In other words, he is Lord.
He is the resurrected, glorified Lord.
And just one of the implications of the resurrection is that he is Lord, King of kings, God of gods, and Lord of lords.
Very quickly, Eddie the Bombardier Miller, and thank you, Pastor, for that.
The music is quite commercial radio isn't always the best.
Ask the question now, Eddie.
We'll have the pastor answer it on the football.
I will ask the pastor to tell us.
Now, notice this is really simple.
What must I do?
What must James do?
What must John Doe do to be safe?
And we're going to get to that.
I'm so glad you asked.
We're going to get that answer when we come back.

And sword to victory.
I'll live tomorrow.
And our Lord Hill because he lives.
I can praise God because we live.
Because I know behold the living truth.
And life is worth the living just because he lives.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is Easter weekend.
And yes, this is a political talk show.
But if anybody's listened to us for at all, at any point during the last 14 years, you know that we don't separate our faith from our heritage and our views on the issues.
They are all wonderfully interwoven.
And so this on the night before Easter, we are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
A lot of people would say, yes, we understand that culturally, Christianity has done a lot for us, but do you really believe, do you really believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, that he lived a sinless life, that he died and he rose again and he serves in heaven?
James, do you really believe that?
Well, let me tell you for anyone listening, I absolutely believe that.
You have never been more right, my son.
And I think that had not been for Europe or Christendom accepting the faith of Christ, that all of the blessings and the advancements that our people have enjoyed, it quite probably would have never happened.
And now as we drift into this post-Christian age and to this apostasy, we see all of those blessings and that bounty being taken from us as we fall into disarray.
Pastor, this is, of course, commercial talk radio.
And it's perhaps not the best venue to give the message that you're delivering tonight, but we do the best we can with what we've got.
And I thank you so much for what you said in the previous segment.
But as no good sermon should end without an invitation, this conversation cannot end without an invitation.
So I'd ask you this.
People say, people talk about fundamentalists as if it's some sort of a dirty word.
But basically what we're talking about is the fundamentals of Christianity.
Please remind everyone on the eve before Easter, what are the fundamentals of Christianity?
And how can anyone listening out there learn more about Jesus Christ?
How could someone accept Jesus to be their Savior and Saved?
Sure.
Well, of course, the fundamentals of Christianity are revealed in the Bible.
And I always tell people, if you're going to begin reading, at least begin reading in the book of John, because the book of John was written according to John, that these things are written that you may believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and in believing that you may have eternal life.
Well, the truth of the matter is, God does indeed command, literally command all men everywhere to repent and to believe on his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Now, that is a two-fold thing.
Repent and believe.
For instance, the Bible says in Acts 17, 30 and 31, God in times past winked at this ignorance, but now he commanded all men everywhere to repent.
Now, listen to this.
He commandeth all men to repent because he hath appointed a day in the which he will judge the world by righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained, whereof he has given assurance unto all men and that he hath raised him from the dead.
So just as surely as Jesus Christ was raised from the dead, there is going to be a day of judgment.
And in light of that day of judgment, God demands that people repent.
Repentance is nothing more than a change of mind, which results in a change of conduct.
So if I'm going north, I do a change.
I turn 180 degrees and I go back south.
So that is a change.
So I have to change my mind toward God, toward Jesus Christ, toward the Holy Spirit, toward the Bible, toward truth.
I change my mind.
It's kind of like the passage in 1 Thessalonians 1, 9, where those Thessalonians, how they turn to God from idols to serve the one living and true God.
So God demands that we repent.
That is, we turn from our sins, we turn from ourselves.
And then the Bible tells you in 1 John 3 and verse 23, and this is his commandment that we believe in his son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
And so believing in him, we come to him and ask him basically for his gift of repentance and for his gift of faith.
Because obviously the scripture says, for by grace are you saved through faith.
And that not of yourselves is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.
So we have a responsibility to repent and believe, but we do not have the power in and of ourselves.
That's why we must come to him, ask him for his grace, for his mercy, throw ourselves at his feet, and literally say, I come as a sinner with nothing in my hand.
I have no good works.
I have nothing.
The only thing I can depend upon is your grace and your mercy that you've demonstrated and given to us in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
So God demands that we repent and that we believe in him.
And we can only do so by his grace and by his mercy.
But again, I quoted that scripture, all that the Father giveth me shall come unto me, and he that cometh unto me, I shall in no wise cast out.
So if a person really, really and truly wants to turn from sin to Jesus Christ in faith, that is because God's already working in his heart and working in his life.
And the Bible says in Philippians 1 and verse 6, being confident of this very thing, that he who hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
So we have to remember that our responsibility is to repent and to believe and to seek him for his grace and for his mercy and enable us to fulfill the responsibilities that he's laid upon us.
Pastor, you mentioned that, you know, I think it was Paul.
I don't know if you said the Corinthians, the Philippians, but he told them they had to turn away from their idols.
Okay, also in scripture, it says, God is no respecter of persons.
I submit to you, and I'm going to run it by you.
Here in Memphis, Tennessee, we have people just holding up Martin Luther King this next week.
It's like he's some kind of a God.
Is Martin Luther King a modern day idol to these people, Pastor?
Well, I would say so.
If you read Ralph David Abernathy's book, Ralph David Abernathy calls him an adulterer and a whoremonger.
And of course, there's pictures of him at the folk school in Tennessee there, where he's being taught by the communists and the Marxists.
And I'm just saying, obviously, Martin Luther King is not what the world is putting him out to be.
And so obviously, yeah, it's political correctness, and he's being made into a martyr, into a god of some type, some type of idol.
And it's strange to me how that Martin Luther King will be held up as a role model when he was so wicked and so vile.
And yet, Robert E. Lee, who was so godly, and Stonewall Jackson, who was so happy, they want their statues torn down.
And the truth of the matter is, Robert E. Lee is regarded even in the North as one of the most godly men that have ever lived.
Pastor, I ask you this only because we have just seconds remaining, and I'm glad Eddie brought that question forth because, as they have put King as an icon, so many men have been turned away from the faith of our fathers.
So I would ask you this: as this apostasy and this political correctness and this Marxism has infiltrated our churches, even our churches in the South, for the men who do want to know more about Jesus Christ, where would you encourage them to go to church tomorrow?
Where would you encourage them to learn more about the true faith of our fathers on this Easter weekend and every weekend?
Well, the only thing I can say is this.
I don't know all the churches, but I do know the Bible, and I know the Bible gives us the truth.
And there are, I have a message on the biblical philosophy of history.
You cannot separate history from theology because history is nothing more than the outworking of God's eternal decree in time.
So, obviously, I mean, if you want to know more about Jesus Christ, you have to read his word because that's where he is revealed.
Pastor, do you have a website?
Can we get your scriptures on?
Do you have a question?
Great question.
We can get your web scriptures, your sermons.
Can we get your sermons on prayer?
Okay, if you go to sermonaudio.com forward slash weaver, there's about 800 messages right there.
Wow.
Sermon, let me repeat that.
Ladies and gentlemen, if you can't go to a church in your local community because they've all sold out to the false gods of cultural Marxism, sermonaudio.com slash weaver.
That's sermonaudio.com forward slash weaver.
Excellent.
And if you go to youtube.com and type in the word Jeet Seed, J-E-E-T-F-E-E-T, you'll have hundreds of my videos to come up as well.
Well, that's what I would encourage a lot of people to do as we're coming up.
Pastor Weaver, I think tonight, I know I asked you earlier in the week, you said you have to be in bed by 9 o'clock Eastern because you've got a 12-hour day on Sundays as you shepherd your flock.
And on Easter, on Resurrection Day, I think it would be even longer than that.
But we're thankful for the hour you gave us this evening and to our audience and as we remember the promise that God fulfilled on Easter Sunday.
And ladies and gentlemen, we look forward to having Pastor Weaver back again soon.
