Time Text
You're listening to the Liberty News Radio Network, and this is the Political Cesspool.
The Political Cesspool, known across the South and worldwide as the South's foremost populist conservative radio program.
And here to guide you through the murky waters of the Political Cesspool is your host, James Edwards.
The show's going by so quickly tonight, I'm sweating.
I'm absolutely sweating.
The delays in between the break with Sam, the better what we do in the air.
That's right.
I mean, the show doesn't stop when we go to commercial break.
In fact, it only heats up.
The conversation over the last six or seven minutes that myself and Eddie the Bombardier-Miller and Sam Bushman have had in the studio have just been even more incendiary than the show itself.
We stay lit for you.
We stay lit for you.
What can I say?
I should say this, though, Eddie.
Did you notice anything different about your microphone tonight?
Well, take a look at it real close now.
It just looks like you have an, I think you said you had a new cover on here.
There you go.
This is from me, man.
There you go.
We have new windscreens, so we don't pop our peas, as they say in the radio world.
And so these windscreens, though, are actually brand new.
We have two mics in the studio here, folks, so you know.
And we have new windscreens on.
$50 million studio, may I add?
Well, they're actually $7 a piece, so that really took a bite out of our budget.
I'm telling you.
Which thankfully, though, we just kicked off the fourth quarter fundraising drive for the political cesspool on Thanksgiving Day, no less.
And it will run through December the 31st.
And we're going to talk a little more about this later in the hour before we wrap up tonight, our coverage of Ferguson.
We're going to tell you about, or after we wrap up our coverage of Ferguson, before the end of the show, we're going to tell you about our fundraising drive.
We got some great incentive gifts.
Put me down for a donation because, you know what?
All my people out here in our listening audience, I love so much.
You people have supported me in my campaign for St. Jude Tillers Research Hospital, Memphis.
You know what?
I will be a lousy stinking dog if I didn't lead an example.
I'm going to contribute to the political assessment myself.
Well, thank you, Eddie.
I certainly am.
Thank you, Eddie.
Well, and this is the thing, though.
I've already mentioned that.
I don't want to derail.
We've got to continue on with Ferguson.
I don't want to take away from the fundraising talk, but the quarterly fundraising drives are absolutely essential.
So if you want to get out ahead of this thing and donate before the very last minute, you can donate tonight, or even while we're still on the air.
Just get it out of the way and help us out because we don't survive without the success of the quarterly fundraising appeals.
The four months of the year that we engage in these quarterly appeals absolutely gives us sustenance for the other eight months.
In fact, what we bring into the storehouse in the months that we aren't actively engaged in fundraising is, well, it's anemic.
I mean, it's very, very little.
I mean, for a nationally syndicated radio show, it's very, very, very low.
And so these quarterly fundraising drives absolutely keep the wheels on the wagon.
And we kicked ours off on Thanksgiving Day.
And I'll tell you the incentives in just a minute.
But first, back to Ferguson.
Michael Brown's mother and stepfather, as we mentioned before, have incited rioters.
And they did this on the night of the grand jury's decision being made public to burn this female dog down.
You can imagine they didn't say female dog exactly, but we actually have video footage of his mother not shedding a single tear, not shedding a tear, but just inciting rioters to burn this female dog down.
And they did.
26 structures were set on fire the first night, the first few hours after the decision of the grand jury was made public.
This is all according to the Ferguson Police Scanner.
Just a partial accounting of some of the crimes committed by the black mobs in the hours after the decision was announced that Officer Darren Wilson would not be indicted.
Apartments were set on fire, beauty salon stores.
They said one whole street, everything was on fire.
An antique store, Taco Bell, O'Reilly Auto Parts, Walgreens, Little Caesars.
It just keeps on going.
It just keeps on going.
According to the police scanner, all this according to the police scanner, this is just a partial accounting of the first few hours after the decision was announced.
Rioters were blocking a major artery, I-270.
Black males were shooting at passing cars.
Police cars were set on fire and smashed.
City Hall was attacked.
Burglaries, muggings.
At least one man was murdered.
Gunshots aimed at police departments.
All this according to the police scanner.
They were looting liquor stores and gas stations.
Family Dollar, Dollar General, Toys R Us set on fire and looted.
What does this have to do with anything?
What does this have to do?
We actually have the video footage that Sean Berger was talking about in the first hour.
Go to thepoliticalaccessible.org.
It's there.
Watch as blacks loot a liquor store and attack a Fox News cameraman.
We have that on YouTube.
And it's at one of our blog entries at thepoliticalaccessible.org.
It's a sense of community that Sam Dixon was talking about.
Well, that's right.
They rallied around in the worst possible way, but there is a sense of community there.
And, you know, news reporters were attacked.
Hit live on the air, hit by rocks.
Fox cameraman attacked.
A journalist was hit in the head and injured with a brick.
And listen, we've got three videos there.
We've got a lot of pictures on the website.
Listen, if you want video or photographic evidence of what took place in Ferguson, go to thepoliticalassible.org.
We got it all, including Michael Brown's parents telling the rioters to burn the city down.
It's all there.
Don't have your kids around when you watch these videos because there's a lot of cussing.
But it's there.
And keep in mind that I appeared on the European-based radio program, The Weekly Antidote, on Monday to discuss Ferguson.
And my first appearance on this show, 25,000 downloads.
That was after the fact.
That doesn't even count the people who listen live.
I was on with Sam Bushman a few days ago as well.
And Sam has given excellent coverage at LibertyRoundtable.com, LibertyRoundtable.com.
Sam's on five days a week.
We've got the weekend covered.
He's got the weekdays covered.
And tune into his coverage in the archives at libertyroundtable.com.
And then, of course, at thepoliticalaccessible.org, you can catch my interview with the weekly antidote.
It's all there.
Eddie.
Well, before I forget, I'd like to bring a discussion that Sam, James, and I had during the break.
And a question I posed to Sam that I'd like to post to the audience that I want to do before we forget.
I would like to ask you, well, first of all, I'd like to tell you that I'm sure you people know that nationwide, nationwide, not all police are rogues, but nationwide, we have a really big problem with out-of-control, rogue, a police, you know, a police state that we're not entering.
We are in there already.
Take the TSA in the airports, for instance.
But any day, you can see, you can almost pull up a news article where some innocent person has been dragged out of their cars, even crippled people, paraplegics, dragged out of their cars, taged, people that are heart patients, you know, diabetics, taged, handcuffed, beaten, shot, and killed for no reason.
Why?
Yeah, guess people.
Why do we have the news media just totally ignoring that?
You know, the implantation of the police state.
Why are they focusing on the policemen here in Ferguson where there is debate?
We had a debate, a lively debate here during the break about the right way or the wrong way, McDarren, whether he came out in his speech to the news media.
But at least there's room for debate there whether the cop was right or wrong in his speech to the news media.
But there is no room for debate for a cop dragging out a physically impaired person for no reason, violating the Constitution, tasing them, killing them, taking illegal, unconstitutional stops, barricades.
Why is the news media not covering that?
I'd like to ask people that.
Let's talk about it.
We'll come back to break.

Are you familiar with the term vigor?
Strength in body and mind?
He pursued his tennis game with vigor, for example.
Well, I hadn't, but I learned about it from Kurt Crosby.
All right, and he actually let me take a scientifically proven free vigor test.
And I got 13 out of 32, not very good.
But I worked on it with him, and believe it or not, now I have a 29 out of 32 and improving vigor score.
You say, Sam, what on earth is this scientific vigor score, huh?
My response is you got to take the free test available now.

And now, back to tonight's show.
As I mentioned a few minutes ago, folks, Officer Darren Wilson has given an interview now.
He gave it to ABC News, and we're going to play a quick excerpt from his interview with them right now.
Let's go to the clip.
If we can.
We're working on it there in the studio, so it is live radio, folks.
If it can be done, if it can be done, our producer will do it because we have the best in the business.
I would like to say this, though, before the clip plays, and I'll let our producer whisper in my ear through the headset when it's ready.
If Michael Brown had been successful in murdering Officer Darren Wilson, this is one point I want to be clear because we know that Officer Wilson grabbed Michael Brown by the arm after he handed off to his associate the cigarillos that they had robbed or stolen from the strong-armed robbery that they had committed just a few minutes before.
He grabbed him by the arm, at which point Michael Brown accosted him.
When they got to the police car, he was pushed into the police car.
Michael Brown had his gun pointed at him, and Officer Darren Wilson was able to maneuver the gun back towards Brown where he started firing.
He would have very easily and could have very easily been murdered by Michael Brown in that altercation.
It was very lucky that he wasn't because Michael Brown had 100 pounds and several inches of height on him.
Very lucky that Officer Wilson did not die or was not murdered.
But had he been murdered by Michael Brown, you would have never known their names.
I want you to think about that.
I want you to think about that.
Had Michael Brown been murdered, or rather, had Michael Brown murdered Darren Wilson, you would have never heard the name of Michael Brown or Darren Wilson.
It would have not been a story at all.
Let's go to the clip.
You say he starts to run as a starter step starts to come toward you.
And at that time, I gave myself another mental check.
Can I shoot this guy?
Legally, can I?
And the question I answered myself was, I have to.
If I don't, he will kill me if he gets to me.
Even though he's 35, 40 feet away, once he's coming that direction, if he hasn't stopped yet, when's he going to stop?
After he's coming at me and I decide to shoot, I fired a series of shots and paused.
What did you see?
I noticed at least one of them hit him.
I don't know where, but I saw his body kind of just flinch a little.
And after that, I paused and I again yelled, you know, stop you on the ground, giving him the opportunity to stop.
And he ignored all the commands and he just kept running.
And so after he kept running again, I shot another series of shots.
And at least one of those hit him because I saw the flinch.
Well, this time he's about 15 feet away.
So I start backpedaling because he's just getting too close and he's still not stopping.
He gets about eight to ten feet.
And as he does that, he kind of starts to lean forward like he's going to tackle me.
And I looked down my barrel of my gun and I fired and what I saw was his head and that's where it went.
Right in the top of his head.
Yes.
You'd never even shot your gun before and now the man is dead.
He also spoke about in this interview with George Stephanopoulos.
He also spoke about the issue of race.
Listen to this.
Is there anything you could have done differently that would have prevented that killing from taking place?
No.
Nothing?
No.
And you're absolutely convinced when you look through your heart and your mind that if Michael Brown were white, this would have gone down in exactly the same way.
Yes.
I agree with him on that.
I mean, if it had been a white guy that was 6'4 and 300-plus pounds, acting in the exact same manner, I think he would have shot him.
I absolutely agree with that.
Is he a little bit remorseless?
Yeah, and you know, this was a debate that we had in the commercial break a moment ago.
I said, you know, I am glad that he is not apologizing for the fact that he didn't allow himself to be murdered and offered up as a sacrifice to anti-white hatred and resentment from black street thugs like Michael Brown.
I commend him for that.
Was he a little perhaps obtuse in his remorse?
Well, that was the debate that we had in the commercial break, Eddie.
I'd like to bring up another point, James.
You made the point of if Michael Brown hadn't murdered the cop, it probably would have been a no story.
I'd like to point out a fact.
It hasn't been about, I'm going to say two years.
The years go by so fast, but it hadn't been that long ago.
And there were two white police murdered in Alabama about 150 miles with crow flies from here, about 180 as you drive over to my good friends that lives over there.
They were killed inside the police station by a black who got loose some kind of weight and got, I think, an AK-47, but in the police station.
How he got it, I don't know.
But the point of my story is there were two white police officers killed dead in the police station.
And how many of you people out there have heard about that?
How many people have heard about that?
No, nobody heard about it.
Nobody heard about it.
No one would have heard about this if Brown had been successful in murdering Wilson.
Could he be a little more, I don't want to say sensitive.
I mean, that's not the word necessarily, but could he be a little more reflective, I guess, in this?
Maybe.
But I mean, look at this guy.
This guy's life is ruined.
I mean, could he have waited?
I mean, was it so important that he go up and get close enough to Brown for disobeying his commands and crossing the street and jaywalking and doing, you know, just being a vagrant?
Did he have to get that close to where Brown could have assaulted him?
Well, he didn't have to get that close.
He could have waited for backup.
But, I mean, still, the fact remains that Brown assaulted him.
If Brown had not assaulted him, this would not have been an issue.
They are trained to wait for backup, though.
That is, I guess, a rule.
A fine line, I think.
And, you know, we won't split hairs.
I think there may be a little fault on both sides, but the vast majority of the fault has to be with the guy that was high on drugs and assaulting a police officer.
I mean, even if Wilson was trained to wait for backup before approaching this suspect, it doesn't give the suspect the right to behave this way.
Behaving this way, punching a cop, breaking his orbital socket, trying to steal his gun, pointing his own gun at him, yeah, you're going to die for that.
I mean, if somebody's going to die, it should be the perpetrator.
But I do see the other side in terms of not that we should, not the other side that there was injustice here and that the criminal justice system is skewed towards white racist.
I mean, this narrative is completely a bunk.
But with regards to the conversation we have in the commercial break, I mean, that does hold water.
Let's go to Matt the Copperhead.
Matt the Copperhead, who was in Ferguson a few weeks ago.
Matt, what do you got for us?
Hey, James, good evening.
How you doing, James, and the Bombardier?
We're sweating.
Doing fine, John.
We're sweating.
Good stuff.
Good stuff.
Hey, yeah, if I could just touch on something Eddie just said a few minutes ago about the militarization of the police all across this country, and we're focused on Ferguson at the moment.
And I just like to say that there shouldn't be any way that us as right-thinking conservative individuals can't reconcile or, and it's definitely not a paradox, that we could stand up for Officer Wilson and have his back, but at the same time, put in question the militarization of the police force and the excessive use of forces that are across this country.
And that's why, you know, I'm for one behind an organization called the Constitutional Sheriff's Police Officers Association.
Hey, hey, listen, Matt, the two are not at odds.
You're right.
And I'll also say, you know, if it took Officer Wilson taking a step back in order to avoid all this, you know, that would have certainly been worth it.
I mean, certainly for him as well, because his career and life are ruined now, even though thankfully he wasn't prosecuted and he shouldn't have been prosecuted.
He went home and he was able to see the next morning and see his loved ones.
You know, in that mind, that's what counts it there.
You know, to second guess him.
I'm sure certainly not you're second guessing him right now, but for anyone.
No, no, no, I'm not.
Well, I mean, a procedural misstep on his part didn't justify the actions of Brown.
I mean, we'll leave it at that.
But continue on, Copper.
Certainly.
Yeah, certainly.
I mean, hey, just another person that's not going to go around pulling strong robberies on South Asians and going around charging cops.
You know, it's kind of fitting the gene pool a little bit there, as far as, you know, the thugs are concerned.
Well, unfortunately, it appears as though there's no shortage.
And I know a lot of those people, a lot of those people were agent provocateurs that came in from the outside of Ferguson and descended upon it like a plague to engage in the lewding and riotous behavior.
That's true.
But I'm sure there's a lot of denizens of the local minority underclass there in Ferguson that got in on the act as well.
We're going to take a break.
Oh kiddo.

All right, well, you know, we've spent the, well, all of the show so far, and very nearly it will have been the entire three hours talking about Ferguson.
Is it a waste?
Well, it's not a waste because you certainly need the truth.
You need a little dose of common sense on this story.
You certainly would not have had it if you had tuned into MSNBC at all.
Fox News did a surprisingly good job on this.
They're wrong about a lot of things.
I mean, people like Sean Hannity, for instance, is just a shill for Israel and is nothing more than a mouthpiece for the GOP.
I mean, he gets those Republican Party press releases and he recites them just like he's paid to do.
But I'll give him credit.
He really handled some of the nonsense coming out of Ferguson well.
There was this black committeewoman or some sort of an alderman or something there in Ferguson saying all this nonsense about white racist cops, and he really just shut her down.
I mean, it was like a bombardier or Keith Alexander commentary.
I mean, he just did a good job.
I commend him for that.
I mean, I will do that.
And I'm objective enough to say when a person does good and when a person does wrong.
And if a person's wrong 90% of the time, but right about 10%, I'll say, hey, you know, listen, right here, they were right.
And, you know, we try to do that.
We try to be fair.
And he was good.
And O'Reilly's been good on this.
I mean, Fox News has really covered it well.
I mean, they don't go into the depths that we have to patrol here in the political cesspool and really dig down deep and get to the crux of the matter.
But as far as this is a single issue is concerned, they know the narrative of the media is just completely washed up that Wilson is the end-all-be-all of evil and Michael Brown was some sort of saintly cherub.
That's just false.
Would it have been better off if their paths had never crossed?
Well, I mean, certainly if they have never crossed, Michael Brown would have continued on a life of petty thuggery.
But it would have been better for both of them.
I'm sorry he's a thug.
You know, I'm sorry he's dead.
I wish he hadn't have died.
I wish he hadn't have acted the way he did.
I wish that Officer Wilson hadn't have been there.
I mean, again, there would have been more crimes committed undoubtedly by Michael Brown, but neither of them have come out for the better for having crossed paths.
Michael Brown is dead.
Darren Wilson's life is in shambles and will probably never be able to work again.
We'll be better off in witness protection.
That's not a life.
Just like George Zimmerman, that's not a life.
It would have been better off if they had never met.
You know, maybe some of Michael or Darren Wilson's commentary after the fact is out of some sort of a defiant resolve.
I mean, listen, you've got to understand, too, the kind of treatment he's received from the media.
You'd probably be a little upset and obtuse as well.
But nevertheless, it shouldn't have happened and wouldn't have happened if we lived in a decent society that wasn't filled with racial hatred.
The media has absolutely justified every action that has taken place in Ferguson.
They have endorsed these actions as some sort of appropriate response to slavery.
And because they've done that, it will continue to get worse, particularly as whites become more and more of a minority in this country.
But Michael Brown has marinated in this sort of anti-white rhetoric from the media all of his life, taught that everything whites do is wrong and against him and that whites are out to get him.
And he has this pin up of frustration.
And I'm sure that played a part into it.
The media is absolutely culpable in all of this, certainly in the response to the riots, but probably more than that.
Eddie, we're going to transition here and talk a little bit more about pressing affairs of states.
So we're going to transition from the Ferguson story.
Again, it's just so open and shut.
It's so cut and dried.
You really could have probably summed it up in just a couple of minutes as Kevin McDonald did in his article that we shared with you earlier.
But I'll give you the final word.
I agree and I disagree with you.
You mentioned a minute ago, James, did we waste time covering this Ferguson for three hours?
No, we didn't.
I'll tell you why, James, because what we're seeing here at Ferguson ain't, it's like Ernest T. Bass on Andy Griffin said, you ain't seen the last of Ernest T. Bass.
You ain't seen the last of the Fergusons.
This fear was a trial, was a trial.
This is the first time in history that a sitting president has come out and attacked the police.
We'll see this again.
This is a mechanism that the United States government, the black ops government, that actually control the government, you know, Bob is just a puppet.
This is a mechanism that they're going to use over and over and over again.
So we need to cover this.
Now, I say we need to cover, have another three hours, and we need to explore every aspect of this.
Why they do it?
You know, what do they expect to get out of it?
When will we expect another?
And I consider this a false flag, people, I really do, and we need to have a show cover.
Perfecting the rules of engagement.
They're desensitizing.
You know, I tell you what they're doing is they're making it a criminal offense for whites to protect themselves and defend themselves under the rule of law.
This was a defensible shooting by Officer Wilson.
Now, could he have backed off?
Could he have waited for backup?
Yes, but I doubt he suspected that Michael Brown was going to react this way to him approaching him within arm's length.
Again, woulda, coulda, shoulda, but once it hit the fan and once Brown responded the way he did, you don't punch a cop in the head and try to take his gun and expect there not to be some sort.
Again, he's very lucky that he's not dead and that Michael Brown isn't the one.
And if Michael Brown had murdered him, he was under 21.
Was he under 18?
Was he 18?
I don't even know his age.
He was an unarmed teen.
We know that.
He'd have probably done a couple of months in Juvie and been back on the street if he'd have murdered this guy.
Well, the black that killed my sister-in-law was serving life without parole.
And guess what, folks?
He's out now.
There you go.
So there you have it.
All right, folks.
Well, this is just goes to show when you compare and contrast the covers that you've heard tonight for the political cesspool, and we try our best to be objective.
We try our best to be fair.
And we don't celebrate the fact that Michael Brown is dead.
I mean, we wish he was not dead, and we wish he hadn't lived the sort of life that he did that led up to his demise.
When you compare and contrast our coverage versus that of the so-called establishment press, you see a clear contrast.
And, you know, it's been an incredible decade for the Political Cesspool.
And in October, of course, as you know, our award-winning broadcast celebrated a full 10 years on the air with a weekend of events in Memphis that featured a sell-out crowd of fans from all across the country.
One attendee had this to say.
The Political Cesspool's 10th anniversary celebration was educational, entertaining, and emotional beyond any conference in our movement I have ever attended.
If one word could describe the experience from start to finish, it would be joyous.
Magnificent and triumphant were also words used to describe the gathering, which was truly inspirational.
One week after that meeting in Memphis, my son was born.
So to say the least, it's been a busy couple of months for us here.
That would be an understatement, but never before, and I mean this, folks, never before have I been so energized to build upon the foundation that we have been perfecting since 2004.
And I dare say that now is the time for us to go all in.
Almost immediately after our conference was over in October, I began working with a team led by industry experts and trusted leaders of our shared cause to develop a press kit that highlights the impressive accomplishments of the Political Cesspool over the course of the last 10 years.
We have Radio Insiders now working with us to market our shows to hundreds of radio stations across the country in an aggressive bid for expansion.
Never before have we put such forth such an effort to grow our number of AM-FM affiliate stations.
This is our Gettysburg, ladies and gentlemen.
You know, in the past, we've had other radio stations outside of our flagship AM station here in Memphis draw interest and it kind of ebbs and flows.
Sometimes, you know, we'll get stations that fall in our lap that hear about the show and want to carry us on there as part of their programming.
But this is an initiative that is unprecedented in that we are going after affiliates with a great deal of aggressiveness.
So if successful, we could soon be heard on a radio station near you.
And in light of this ongoing racial unrest in Ferguson, America really needs to hear our brave and refreshing commentary now more than ever before.
But we must have your financial support in order to keep the show on the air.
We can't stay on the air, much less grow, without your continued support.
And folks, I mean this earnestly, and we give to every fundraising drive.
I don't do anything I don't ask you to do.
I donated to the Political Assess Pool yesterday.
Our fourth quarter fundraising drive kicked off on Thanksgiving Day.
And I believe this is the single most important fundraising appeal in our program's history in terms of us being able to experience a substantial amount of growth in just a few weeks.
We've received countless publicity over the years from television programs, newspapers, and magazines.
We have a great reputation.
We have a professionally produced and hosted show that can be successfully marketed to a greater extent.
We have employees now that are going to do that.
We need your help.
We're poised to take the next step.
But we urgently need your immediate response, and we need it right now.
We need you to go to thepoliticalspool.org tonight and donate to this show.
Can I count on you to do this in this season of Faith and Family, this season of giving?
Together, we're going to continue our pursuits of honesty and excellence, but we need your support right now.
And before this show is over, you can go to our website and donate to our program and help us reach more affiliate stations across the country.
We need it right now.
And we're going to play a song for you before we go to our next commercial break.
Let's play that now.
Imagine a
school where faith and integrity are at its center, where heritage and responsibility instill character, where educating both hearts and minds brings about academic excellence.
There is a school in American Fork where character and embracing the providence of a living God are fundamental, where students' national test scores average near the 90th percentile.
Based on LDS principles and a love of country, now in our 39th year, American Heritage School is accepting fall enrollment for kindergarten through high school.
What would you do for your child?
Give them an education that will prepare them for life.

There's something really fun and exciting about discovering products that make life more pleasant and enjoyable.
Well, Miracle 2 soaps definitely fit that description.
The shelves at the supermarket are packed with soaps and cleansers that are full of chemicals that slowly destroy our health and the environment.
Miracle 2 products are all natural, like the green soap that can replace your bath, laundry, household soaps, and cleaning products.
And please try Miracle 2's Skin Lotion.
It's quickly absorbed and not greasy like all those other mass-produced lotions.
Miracle 2 Moisturizer is full of fabulous oils and emollients that leave the skin healthy and baby soft.
I guarantee after you discover how amazing Miracle 2 products are, you'll recommend them to everyone you know.

Welcome back to Get On The Show.
Call us on James' Dime at 1-866-986-6397.
You know, Eddie Devometer Miller told me a little story about that song.
We do need your support right now to stay on the air and continue to grow.
And we are going to have the biggest concerted effort we have ever had in the history of our show to go out and reach to more AM FM affiliates in search of more stations carrying our program on the terrestrial airwaves out there across America.
But that song, I thought it was appropriate, number one, don't dream about tomorrow.
Don't dream about yesterday, rather.
Let's turn this thing around right now.
It means everything.
Do it right here and now.
Support our show tonight.
You know, typically how it happens is we have these fundraising appeals that are absolutely essential to our very survival as a broadcast entity.
And they start out so slow.
And I really start to sweat around the middle of any given month in our fundraising drive.
And then at the very end, we bring in enough the skin of our teeth to stay on the air.
And then in the months in between, the pickings are very slim.
But listen, we're a top 10-rated show in our nightly time slot online.
And we do have AM FM radio affiliates that, of course, carry us across the country, but in select markets, but we could have a lot more.
I think our show really provides something that's missing in the political commentary of this nation.
And so we are doing for the first time ever after 10 years and spurred on and energized by the success of our last decade and all the things that we've accomplished and spurred on by the great event that we had in celebration of 10 years here in Memphis.
We're going out and we are really pursuing these things.
That's why I say it's our Gettysburg.
We're taking the fight to the enemy now.
We're not waiting for people to come to us.
We're taking the fight to the enemy and we're going to try to grow this show, the likes of which we have never tried before.
And it's hard because we do everything.
You know, other radio shows that reach the amount of people that we do, the hosts don't have an original thought.
All their scripts are written for them.
Their websites are tended to.
People write their articles.
People book their guests and do the research on their guests and the stories that they talk about.
We do it all.
People answer their emails.
Listen, we do it all.
It's a full-time, it's a full-time obligation.
It's a full-time job to do this show, and we do it as volunteers.
All we're asking for is that our needs be met to stay on the air.
But much more than that, much more than just survive.
We're wanting to build and to grow.
And that's what we're doing.
Eddie, you told me you felt like Eddie Van Halen.
You felt like Van Halen with all the people coming up to ask to take a picture with you at our event.
So I thought that a song from Van Halen right now would help kick off the fourth quarter fundraising drive very well.
And so that's why I selected that particular song.
The lyrics meshed, and I was thinking I was drawing from your inspiration.
It couldn't have been better.
And, you know, people, I got to tell you something about the fundraising.
Once upon a time, I used to be shy about asking for money.
Well, I'm telling you right here, I have no shame.
I mean, I'll beg.
You will not believe the way I've begged the past two years.
I've got experience with begging for money now because everybody out there in the Western Hemisphere knows me, they know that I am a St. Jude Hero.
And you don't raise money by just going and gently and meekly asking people, could you please give me $1.50 for St. Jude Hero, for the St. Jude Hero?
You have to beg.
You really do because money's tight.
But I'm just summing up what James said, I'll sum it up in one sentence.
Either you like what we do or you don't.
Either you recognize the value of this show or you don't.
If you want the show to continue on, hey, divvy up.
Put up some money.
If you don't, we could disappear because it does cost money to run the show.
God knows we don't make any money.
I can guarantee it costs me more money to come out here than it did to go to do the St. Jude Heroes practice run this morning.
But yeah, if you like the show, if you like what you hear, please contribute.
And I'm asking you that unashamed.
We need it.
Well, and as always, Eddie, and I appreciate that.
You know, we could certainly be well compensated for what we do.
You know, you take into account the number of people that we reach on a weekly basis and how big it is.
You know, I just did an interview in Sweden that reached tens of thousands of people.
That's one guest appearance.
That's not even hosting my own show.
And we're reaching more than could fit in an NBA-sized arena.
We're reaching a lot of people, and we are changing the discourse.
And the amount of influence that we wield is a great deal.
We should be well compensated for our efforts.
We're not looking for that.
We're just looking to survive.
And I'll tell you, out of all the people we reach, you know, I mentioned we reached 25,000 in one interview.
We know that based upon statistics and hard numbers.
You know, we send out several hundred fundraising letters each quarter to those who are regular contributors.
Stamps?
Well, it costs a lot of money.
Fundraising is expensive.
I mean, fundraising itself isn't cheap.
But let me say this very quickly.
You think you may not matter.
You think we're so big.
We're a top 10-rated show.
We've been on for 10 years.
We've been covered by Newsweek and all, the L.A. Times, the London Times, the New York Times, the biggest newspapers in the world, on CNN a number of times, and all of these network news.
We're too big.
Your $100 contribution doesn't matter.
I will tell you this because I know no one knows more than me.
There are less than 100 people, less than 100 out of tens of thousands that listen to this show, less than 100 that contribute every quarter.
If you take away 10 or 20 of those people, we're done.
So, I mean, the power of an individual and the amount of influence that an individual, you think $100 can't matter to a show like us, a nationally syndicated radio show, you're wrong.
$100 is a lot of money to us.
We run this show off of less than $20,000 a year.
So basically, what a kid working at McDonald's makes a year, what a kid makes at McDonald's a year, you know, that's what we run a nationally syndicated show.
But we're not going to give you something for nothing.
Or you donate to us, you keep us on the air.
We're going to give you this book written by Regan O'Carroll.
Regan O'Carroll, that's a Gaelic name.
And she's got the fiery red hair to match.
The title of it is Endangered Species.
White Guilt Equals White Extinction.
She is a fiery female listener of the Political Cesspool's audience.
And she wrote this book.
I am cited in it, I might add.
I want to get that out there.
But it's a great book.
So, if you contribute $100 or more before the end of the month, you're going to get it and a few other goodies as well, the details of which can be found at our website, thepoliticalasspool.org.
Folks, you make a difference.
You make a difference.
Our contributors make a difference.
Stand with us as we seek to expand the show over the course of the next few weeks in a major push for growth.
That being said, we got to go now for Eddie Miller and the rest of our crew.
I'm James Edwards.
Keep in mind, starting next week, we're going to feature the sounds of the season, Christmas music, Christmas music.
Hey, it's Christmas.
It's not the holidays.
It's Christmas that we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
We're going to celebrate the festive and spiritual sounds of the season with some music interspersed within our commentary on the Political Assess Pool and songs like this, The Kingly, Good King Wincesless, you'll be hearing.
Let's play it now as we go into the ever after.
We'll see you next week, folks.
God bless.
Gummy peasant who is living, what is twenty?
Silent lips are golden hence underneath the mountain.
Rise against the forest fence, voice and darkness fountain.
Bring me flesh and bring me wine, bring me pine woods here.
Thou and I will see him dine, twin beauty dealer.
For freedoms together through the good wings by the end, with the peace of weather.
So the noise is dark on all, and the wind no storm fills my heart.
I know not I can run on longer.
Mark my footsteps, put my head, let one both be.
Thanks for joining us tonight in the Political Cesspool.
