Welcome to the Political Cesspool, known across the South and worldwide as the South's foremost populous conservative radio program.
And here to guide you through the murky waters of the political cesspool is your host for tonight, James Edwards.
Welcome, everybody, to the Political Cesspool radio program.
I'm your host, James Edwards.
It's Saturday evening, February 16th, and we are back live in the studio.
A little rhapsody to the audience there, Keith Alexander, and a happy, belated Valentine's Day to each and every one of you in the Political Cesspool audience from the Political Cesspool hosting staff and crew.
What is love?
Well, 1 Corinthians seems to be the authority on the matter as far as I'm concerned.
It reads that love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it does not dishonor others, it's not self-seeking, it's not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
And of course, on the Hills of Valentine's Day, a scripture like that, a verse like that, can certainly be applied to the romantic love that we feel for our wives.
It can also be attributed to the brotherly love, which certainly, Keith, you and I and the rest of the crew extend towards those who are tuned in tonight around the world on the AM FM stations that carry us and via our internet simulcast.
We wanted to open up tonight's show by just letting you know, reminding you once again that we truly do love y'all.
And Keith, you were saying just as much at lunch earlier this week when we were planning tonight's show.
You know, it's very, very rare that we take a Saturday night off, but circumstances made that unavoidable last Saturday night.
But it was a great tape show.
We're going to talk a little bit more about that in a moment.
But at lunch a couple of days ago, you were saying, you know, we have an awesome responsibility, an awesome obligation with the bully pulpit that we've been given to make the most of what we have at our disposal, this radio program.
And certainly for the last eight years, we've done that.
But I think taking a week off, it really sharpens your focus a little bit and it reminds you of what a great opportunity it is to do what we do.
We were mentioning that we both missed being off of the show just for one week.
I think there are a lot of people that would imagine that we're looking forward to time off, but we don't because not only is it an awesome responsibility, it's an awesome opportunity.
And the opportunity is that we are the only people on mainstream radio that are addressing these issues in the way that we do.
No one else basically gives voice to the average white person who has a sense of white racial solidarity and pride.
None, you know, the other white commentators are basically busily selling out the interests of the white community.
We're not going to do that.
And because of that, we have attracted a lot of negative attention.
But on the other hand, you know, we've got big shoulders and we can handle it.
Well, we certainly can, Keith.
And, you know, we were also reflecting on the fact that it's been eight years.
You take one week off and you would think that it would be a welcome week off, but certainly not for us.
You know, the political cesspool has been regulated here in recent weeks to a veritable mass unit.
Bill Rowland, with his struggles with his terminal illness, and of course, Winston Smith, in addition to going death, has now picked up a new ailment that basically degenerates his muscle mass.
So between Bill and Winston, who have been, over the course of our history, such integral pieces of the puzzle here, we have been clipped a little bit in terms of our capacity to dig deep.
And on the occasions when I have to go out of town, Bill has always been there to fill in.
And right now, that's not a possibility.
Eddie was on the road last week.
I was on the road.
Keith was taking care of some business.
So last week was a rare week off.
But I'll tell you, you know, I was just, you say eight years.
How many shows have been around for eight seasons?
You look to television.
And we keep getting renewed every year by the fans.
This is a listener-supported show.
We rely on their support and contributions.
And for eight years, we keep getting picked up.
So we'll see how long we can run this thing.
But hopefully it'll be a long time more.
But in just reflecting on the first couple of weeks of this, our eighth year, 2013, how many weeks are we into this year?
Five, six weeks into the year.
And already we've had all new live interviews with Kevin McDonald, two with Jared Taylor.
And these are some of our regularly featured guests, some of the standard fare.
But in addition to that, we've really had a lot of variety.
Sam Bushman took over one week, Keith.
You and he had an outstanding show.
I tell you, if you want to listen to good political Cessbo radio, try to find the weeks where I'm off.
And if we listen to one of these great guest hosts like Sam or Bill fill in, it always makes for an enjoyable three hours.
Of course, the Al Veda King episode.
I don't know what that was all about still, but it was interesting.
And then the replays, you know, just last week, yeah, we were out, but we replayed, I think, a very profound interview that we conducted with Officer Drew Lackey.
He was a police officer in the 1960s in Montgomery, Alabama.
He was pictured in that iconic photograph, fingerprinting Rosa Parks at the time of her arrest.
So he was certainly a part of history, whether he wanted to be or not.
He was thrust into that.
And he wrote a book, Another View of the Civil Rights Movement.
And we captured that interview a few years back.
And so since we had to take the night off last week, we replayed that.
We've also, so far this year, replayed the interview that we did with elected member of European Parliament Nick Griffin, the leader of the BNP, which was our most listened to interview of all time.
So you add it all up, and it's been a pretty interesting year thus far in the Cessboll.
And I tell you, folks, I know what's coming up over the course, or at least what we're planning to have come up over the course of the next few months as we dig deeper into 2013.
It is going to be a great year.
Tonight's going to be a great show.
It's going to be the first show of the year that we have not had a featured guest.
Because naturally, with us being out last week, we have two weeks worth of news and we're going to get to all of it and more before it's all said and done this evening.
The biggest news story we're going to be covering in the second hour and we plan on spending the majority, if not the entirety, of the second hour talking about it.
If there's been one story that we have repeated to exhaustion, it's been something that we're quite proud of.
You tend to repeat things that you're proud of, the fact that we saved the three Confederate Parks here in Memphis Tennessee, back in 2005 yes, we did, and the political cesspool will take credit for that.
We were, by the local media and even the sons of Confederate veterans themselves, given the credit for that victory in 2005.
Well unfortunately, nothing lasts forever under the cloak of darkness.
The city council changed the names of the parks last year.
Last week it seems as though we bought them an eight-year lease on life.
But the time has run out and we're going to talk about it in extensive detail during the second hour, but first a lot of stories from the blog.
Stay tuned.
It's going to be a bumpy ride tonight.
We're going to be here to pilot you through it.
We'll be right back.
Don't let me be misunderstood.

And here's the host of the Political Cesspool, James Edwards.
Okay, so as I was mentioning at the tail end of that opening segment tonight, yes, the three Confederate parks of Memphis have now finally been renamed.
We staved off the effort for eight years, but now the day has come.
And we're going to be talking about that extensively during the second hour, so stay tuned for that.
This is the political cesspool, so you got to take the bitter with the better.
Unfortunately, in today's political climate, most of the news that we report on this show and offer commentary on comes from the bitter side.
But we've actually got a little bit of good news to start the show with.
So savor the flavor because it just doesn't happen often here.
But I got to play you a clip of this guy.
He was interviewed by News Channel 4 out of Buffalo, New York.
I'm not sure what network affiliate that is, if it's ABC, NBC, CBS, what have you.
But basically, here's the background.
This fella is not an activist.
He's just an everyday working-class blue-collar guy.
We're going to feature this video on our website, thepolitical cesspool.org, on Monday.
So I encourage you to check it out.
Then you'll be able to put a face to the voice you're about to hear.
But he is obviously a painter.
He's sitting in a beat-up work truck with paint cans behind him.
He's got spatter all over his muscle shirt.
And a news camera just came over to him.
If you've ever been in the news, you know how this works sometimes.
I mean, yes, if you're a media figure, they will call and invite you on.
But from time to time, if you're in the right place at the right time and there's a camera there, they'll just come over and ask you for your opinion.
Well, what had happened in Buffalo was that apparently a group of blacks had burned down a house and they asked this guy what he thought about it.
Now, again, let me repeat, this is not an activist.
This is just an everyday working-class American, middle-class American up in Buffalo, New York.
And the only thing that separates this guy from so many others is that when asked a question that involved a racial animus, he spoke freely and candidly.
This man looked straight into the camera and told the truth as he saw it with a calm confidence.
And as you will be able to hear, the news nerd that was interviewing him was absolutely aghast.
Let's take a listen to it right now.
So tell me, you lived here for 30-something years.
They're classifying this fire as a potential hate crime.
What do you think about that?
I think that if people just stayed in their own side of town, their own neighborhood, things like that wouldn't happen.
Tell me what you mean by that.
Well, every race and color has their own section of Buffalo almost.
So if they just stay on their own side, things like this wouldn't happen.
People in these neighborhoods don't want those type of people moving down here and ruining the property value and destroying the neighborhood.
So when things like that happen, it shouldn't be such a shock.
What do you mean by those types of people?
Minorities.
African Americans.
So are you suggesting that they should stay on the east side rather than coming here to South Buffalo?
Well, they've already wrecked the east side.
Why should they come down to the south side and wreck that neighborhood?
Do you think that by saying these things, people on the other side of the city get offended?
Do you think that there's some sort of a bias potentially?
A lot of people feel this way.
They just won't say it.
But you are.
Yeah.
Why are you coming out and saying these things?
Because I own a home and I see what happens when they move into the neighborhood.
Property value goes down, kids on the corner, crime goes up.
The east side used to be a beautiful place.
Look what they did to that.
Do you think that there's an issue, though, in what you're saying?
Well, I'm sure there is, but I mean, you've got to take a look at why it's an issue.
What do you mean by that?
I mean, they just ruin neighborhoods.
I guess what I'm getting at is that you're generalizing tremendously.
These people might have just been here looking for a different way of life, a better way of life.
Maybe people are afraid after you let one family in, then more of them come in.
You know, that's just how it is around her.
All right.
Do you think there's anything wrong with what you're saying?
I don't feel there's anything wrong with it.
A lot of people would feel wrong about it, but I don't.
All right, folks.
That was a man who was asked a question, and he told the truth as he saw it.
That should serve as a tutorial on how it can be done.
I think more than anything, that's why I wanted to play that clip on the show tonight, just to show people that if he can do it, you can too, if that is, in fact, the way you feel.
And as he mentioned, a lot of people certainly feel this way.
So it should be a part of public discourse.
It should be infused into the court of public opinion.
And this guy wasn't trying to be cute.
He wasn't trying to be inflammatory or sensational.
He was asked a question.
He didn't grin.
He didn't giggle.
He just told it how he saw it.
And whether you agree with him or not, a lesson can be taken from that.
I really appreciate the fact that this man offered a calm sense of frankness and candor to a news interview.
So often you get nothing but politically correct platitudes.
I applaud this guy.
This guy's probably a cesspool listener, Keith.
I tell you what it is.
It's exactly what we need.
You know, Eric Holder said that we need to have a candid conversation about race and that we're cowardly and we won't talk about race.
This gentleman shows you that this is what you get when you have a candid, honest conversation about race from the white perspective.
Every other group, blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Jews, you name them, American Indians, they are all entitled to have a sense of racial solidarity.
They're not only allowed to have racial solidarity, they are encouraged to have racial solidarity, okay?
Is that good enough for everybody?
Then if they're entitled to have a sense of racial solidarity, the only group that is not allowed to have a sense of racial solidarity, the people that are called, the only one group of people are called racist when they express a normal and natural affinity for their own kind are white Gentiles.
That's what this man did.
This is what needs to happen.
We need to reclaim the same right that everyone else has.
We need to stand up for equality for our own kind.
All of this bumper sticker art that you see about the liberals put on their cars, you know, the little sticker that says coexist or another one that says tolerance, another one that says celebrate diversity.
Those are blatant lies.
The left doesn't celebrate diversity, particularly if we're part of the panorama.
They don't celebrate tolerance.
They are the most intolerant people towards white Gentiles and their interests and their ability to speak out and coalesce and to lobby the legislature and the lawmakers and the courts and whatnot from their perspective of any group that you could ever imagine.
They do not want to coexist with us.
They want to plow us under.
And this recent Confederate park kerfuffle in Memphis is just the tip of the iceberg.
It's just a perfect example of what the rest of America has in store for it if the demographic change that is predicted by UN demographic experts and others comes to pass, the 2041 deadline in which whites then become a minority in their own country.
Unless we regain our voice, unless we regain the courage of people like General Forrest and our ancestors and speak up for our own interest unashamedly like this gentleman did, then I predict that minority rights will become immediately a thing of the past when white people become a minority.
And again, what was so noteworthy about this gentleman, the clip that we just played, was the fact that he had no more, no less to lose than anyone else.
You know, most people aren't that honest, Keith, but they're best friend in the seclusion of their own home.
Yet this guy had the courage to call it as he saw it, knowing that that would be broadcast all over his community there in Buffalo, New York.
Let's explore that a little bit because I have talked with a lot of elites in the white community and would-be elites or people that think they may have an outside chance of becoming elites.
And I think I've finally figured out why nobody wants to be as candid as this gentleman.
This gentleman is totally comfortable with his working class status.
A lot of these other people aren't, and that's why they speak the way they do.
We'll go into more of the whys and wherefores of that on the other side of this break.
Informing citizens.
Pursuing liberty.

We're going to get to him in just a moment if Tim from Arkansas will remain patient.
But Keith, you were talking about the continued eradication of our beloved Confederate symbols here in the South.
I was asking you at lunch.
We were talking about this.
And again, it's going to be the primary subject of our focus in the second hour.
So stay tuned for this.
We're going to give you all the updates, all the news that is news about this genocide against our culture that's most recently taken place in Memphis.
But I was asking you, I said, you know, okay, so they go after the Confederacy, I guess, because it's an easier sell to the rest of America to just target the South.
But at the end, what's the difference between Nathan Bedford Forrest and Thomas Jefferson?
If the only litmus test was they were leaders during an era when slavery existed or that they in some way participated or owned slaves themselves, George Washington, you know, why aren't they going after them too?
And of course, Keith, the answer is, well, they'll get to them eventually.
You've already had instances in this country where a black group has spoken at a park that had a monument dedicated to George Washington and they had to cover him up in plywood because it offended the blacks.
George Washington offends them.
The American flag, attacks on it, certainly not as prevalent as the attacks on the glorious Confederate flag, but they are picking up in frequency.
I wrote about a few examples in my book at a hospital.
I believe it was in Texas.
Some of the minorities there didn't appreciate the fact that a nurse had an American flag on her desk, so that was quickly removed.
I believe there was another instance at an apartment complex in Oregon.
There was an American flag in the window of one of the units, and that had to be removed because it defended some anti-American, non-American.
Well, the newest manifestation of this crusade to liken the American flag to the Confederate flag as far as non-whites are concerned took place in California this week, and we have the story on the blog.
Again, these instances are becoming increasingly more common as we continue our descent into the third world.
But here's the scoop, and I'm going to turn it over to Keith for commentary.
A group of students at a California high school basketball game were told to remove American flags and stop chanting USA, USA, because school administrators wanted to be sensitive to other spectators.
A school administrator pulled aside four boys and told them to either remove their American flags or leave the game.
Keith, this was not in Mexico.
This was in a California public school.
The boys, of course, complied.
The Camarillo High School principal Glenn Lippmann told the Ventura County Star that the students were told to remove the American flags as a precaution because the school has a diverse student body.
The school has a large Hispanic population.
The story goes on to read.
And he talks later on, the school administrators talk about they need to pursue this further.
It wasn't enough to ask those kids to leave the game and remove their American flags and stop chanting USA, USA.
They need to learn about the concept of cultural proficiency, quote unquote.
We need to have more diversity.
He said that cultural proficiency is understanding how to work, live, and be respectful of other people's heritage.
It's more than just tolerance of other ethnic or cultural groups.
Okay, Keith, fair enough.
When does all of this tolerance and respect for diversity apply towards the founding stock of this country?
When are they going to be tolerant of our heroes and our culture?
When are they going to respect the diversity for our flags and our symbols?
It seems as though this is a one-way street, Keith.
Tolerance and diversity only comes from us and is sent to them.
There is no reciprocity.
Well, that's 100% right.
Like I said, these bumper stickers are meant to impact your outlook in mind.
The bumper sticker coexists, the bumper sticker tolerance with little cute little squiggles coming off of it.
The Celebrate Diversity bumper sticker.
That's not intended in any way to impact the outlook of blacks, Hispanics, American Indians, gays, you name it, Asians, Jews, whatever.
It's all directed at white Gentiles.
And this particular principle that you're talking about at the El Camarillo High School is voicing the typical elite speaking points about how white Gentiles can't assert their sense of racial solidarity or their pride in their ancestors and antecedents, but everyone else can.
Now, this is the earmark of the wannabe elites and the white elites that I was talking about on the other side of the break.
They think they have figured out because they're wealthy, because they have nice jobs with lots of benefits, and that they have somehow walked through the fires relatively unscathed, that they have figured out how to survive and thrive in post-racial America.
But they haven't.
They don't realize that the left and the minorities, the so-called minorities, the non-whites of America and the world, just haven't gotten around to them yet.
They will get around to them eventually.
They will find out that they cannot carve out a sinecure for themselves or their children or their ancestors.
And boy, are they going to be surprised?
Just to recap, kids, it is now racist to display an American flag in a public school that's heavily non-white.
It's racist to chant USA, USA.
You thought that their vitriol was reserved just for people like Robert E. Lee and George Wallace?
No, they're coming for everything and everybody.
George Washington is not safe.
The American flag is not safe.
It is all going to go.
And the line in the sand keeps being redrawn, doesn't it, Keith?
I mean, the only question is whether or not European Americans are going to develop a healthy sense of identity before we all plummet off this cliff and this country becomes the third world flophouse.
Quick response and let's get to Tim in Arkansas.
Well, you know what?
It's not just George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and it's not just Confederate figures like Robert E. Lee and General Nathan Bedford Forrest.
It's even gotten so far as it got to Hillary Clinton back in 2008.
In 2008, Hillary Clinton learned that all of her devotion to liberal causes and to the Democratic Party weren't worth a fig when it came time for the minorities to step to the plate and assert their power.
Once they're in charge, as in Memphis politics, white liberals find out that the only role that they have in the political landscape is to contribute money to black or other minority candidates or to be on TV and endorse them.
But as far as having any real power, as they say on the Sopranos, forget about it.
They're not going to have any.
And boy, are they going to be surprised?
It's a good racket.
I mean, they've got it figured out.
They know all they have to do like a spoiled brat is just cry loud and long enough.
And now they don't even have to do it for very long.
They just whisper, utter the word racist, and everybody falls to their knees and plays dead.
It's absolutely sickening.
I am disgusted with our kinsmen for the most part, except for this guy in Buffalo that drives a truck and paints for a living and the listeners of the Cecil audience, this country's pretty much gone to hell.
Let's go to Tim in Arkansas.
Yeah, hello, James.
Can you hear me?
I can hear you loud and clear.
Good.
Listen, a couple things.
Absolutely.
I saw that posting on the internet there, and I saw that guy sitting in the back of his truck, you know, basically speaking the truth.
One of the things I noticed, too, if you'll notice a contrast and a compare, did you notice how feminine the announcer sounded?
I want you to listen to that.
I mean, I didn't really pick it up that much at first.
It really sounds very feminine.
Well, that's, excuse me, Tim, that's exactly a point that we've made, that in modern Western life in America, in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, wherever white people are, we have feminized men and masculinized women.
And you notice also the smugness in this guy's voice, this commentator that was asking this guy questions.
Like, this guy really, this painter just didn't, you know, he wasn't with it.
He wasn't with the zeitgeist of the age with the post-racial landscape that this particular commentator thinks that he navigates so well.
He's in for a big surprise, just like Hillary Clinton was in for a big surprise in 2008.
Say that again, if you would, please.
The interviewer is used to intimidating people, probably because he's feminine and he couldn't intimidate somebody using the zeitgeist, as you say.
And I think it frustrated him and sort of took him aback.
He found somebody that wasn't playing by his rules or according to his script.
And he's not used to that because political correctness has cowed him and all of his contemporaries.
He doesn't realize this, but he's a lapdog.
He's not the smart guy that's figured out how to navigate the post-racial landscape.
What he is, is the guy that T.S. Eliot was describing in his poem, The Hollow Man.
This is the way the world will end, not with a bang, but a whimper.
He's whimpering.
All right, Tim, thanks for the call, my friend.
We got to take a break.
Tim Thibaut's in hot water for speaking to an anti-Semitic church.
What did this church say that was so anti-Semitic?

I've got one more story that really ties into a recurring theme here in the first hour, and that is how far the line in the sand keeps getting redrawn, how much further they continue to push us back.
Well, not necessarily us, because we're the reactionaries.
We're the ones that are actually talking and doing something about it in the mainstream media.
We're your white knights, literally and figuratively, as far as it goes, and we're doing as much as we can.
But it's no longer just the Confederate symbols anymore.
Now it's the American flag.
Now, if you chant USA and display an American flag in an American public high school in the state of California, you could be asked to leave.
You might have to go to sensitivity training.
It's also Christianity in general now.
I saw a headline that just really caught my eye, and I had to check it out.
It said that Tim Thibault, and as far as professional athlete goes, I really like Thibault.
He's a guy that has paid a price for professing his faith in Jesus Christ.
No more, no less.
Well, I saw that he was going to be speaking at a anti-gay, anti-Semitic church.
Anti-Semitic?
What kind of church is this?
I mean, are they, what are they doing?
Are they pulling out mind conf?
Are they preaching out of it as far as the media is concerned?
Well, no.
They're preaching out of the Bible.
And you got to know.
Let me just ask you the question.
What was this evil church that had Tebow scheduled to speak?
It was the first Baptist church of Dallas, the First Baptist of Dallas.
Now, the Baptists, as you know, have been falling all over themselves to show how politically correct they can be, but they have a couple of redeeming qualities.
One is that they still pretty much stick to the scripture with regards to sodomy and homosexuality, and they still pretty much will hold the line on the fact that in order to receive salvation, in order to be saved, you have to go through Christ.
Well, this is what made them an anti-Semitic and anti-gay church.
These two cornerstones of the Christian faith.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Apparently, all Christians must now be guilty of these charges.
And as far as I'm concerned, so be it.
But here's the scoop, and then it's over to Keith.
Tim Tebow may not be getting a lot of attention on the field of the New York Jets, but he's certainly receiving a lot of buzz off of it recently with the announcement of an upcoming speaking engagement at a controversial Dallas church.
Again, First Baptist Church of Dallas.
It's hardly controversial.
First Baptist Dallas is an approximately 11,000 member church led by senior pastor Robert Jeffries, an evangelical Christian who has built up quite a reputation, the story reads, for himself in circles among the religious right.
Now, what has this church done that's so bad, Keith?
Here it is, right here, right now.
In October 2011, Jeffries endorsed Texas Governor Rick Perry for president, then went on to claim that you can't be saved being a Jew.
And they took that entire thing out of context.
Basically what he said was no one can receive salvation except through Christ, and that includes Jews.
And then he went on to say that, well, the story says that he gained notoriety as far as I'm concerned.
He's a hero for his statements about homosexuality.
He basically said that 70% of the gay population has AIDS, and therefore they should not be allowed to serve in the military.
He also said that there's a link between homosexuality and pedophilia.
Keith, that's it.
That's the whole article.
So Tim Teegbo speaking at this evil, anti-gay, anti-Semitic church.
I must be blind because I don't see anything remotely controversial there other than the truth.
It's all biblically sound.
Sodomy is a sin.
Sodomy is abhorrent.
God frowns upon it.
So do I. That's what this pastor said.
If you want to know Christian salvation, you have to go through Jesus Christ to receive it.
That's across the board, and that also applies to Jews.
That's it.
Nothing more, nothing less, Keith.
I don't know what else to say.
But now it appears as though all Christians are just as bad as, well, I guess, hell, they're as bad as Hitler now, aren't they?
Let's break this down.
If we could, please, let's break this down.
Christianity is basically a 2,000-year-old religion.
Throughout that 2,000-year period since the birth of Jesus until today, it has been Orthodox, standard Christian teaching that only people who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are saved.
All others are lost officially.
That's what it says in all versions of the Bible up until, I guess, fairly recently.
It's what was said in the Vulgate.
That was the Dark Ages Bible that was the Bible of the Western Church or the Roman Catholic Church.
That's what's in the King James Bible, which most Protestants follow in America.
At least they did until the oncoming of the notorious Schofield Bible, which was the first glimmering of Jewish dispensationalism.
Jewish dispensationalism, which is what they're trying to, which is the alternative to the sound, consistent Orthodox Christian teaching on the subject that I just enunciated a few seconds ago, actually, says that the Jews can do no wrong.
He who blesses Israel is blessed.
He who curses Israel is cursed.
This is a recent development.
It was the brainchild of a Scottish theologian named John Darby who pronounced his views in the mid-part of the 19th century, and they found their way into the Schofield Bible, which unfortunately is now the foundational Bible for many fundamentalist denominations.
Fundamentalists are Protestants to the core, and one of the primary principles upon which Protestantism is based is called sola scriptura.
Only the scriptures, not the pronouncements of men like the Pope or the patriarch in Constantinople, now Istanbul, I guess, and not the creeds of man like the Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed, things like this.
You go right to scripture.
Well, that's a wonderful principle to keep you founded in the Word of God.
But if you have that as your principle, you have to refrain from rewriting the Bible every 10 years or so, which is what many fundamentalist denominations have done.
Now, apparently, Thiebaud believes in the old-time religion, and so do the people, at least to some extent, at the First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.
That's the way that Christianity was taught.
In fact, it's either the Gospel of Matthew or Mark that includes what's called the blood curse.
The blood curse has to do with Pontius Pilate, Jesus, Barabbas, and the Jewish religious hierarchy of the day speaking through Caiaphas.
What happened regarding the blood curse is this.
Pontius Pilate was in charge of the civil authority.
The Jewish religious leaders and the Jewish mob were hollering for the execution of Jesus.
This is the passion story, the Calvary story.
And Pontius Pilate, who was kind of like a middle manager of a Walmart who had to report back to Rome or Bentonville, if you will,
and run a tight ship and have a profitable operation there in Palestine, felt that Jesus was innocent of any wrongdoing, but he realized he was walking a tightwire because if he didn't pacify the Jewish mob and the Jewish leaders, there would be a revolt.
And a revolt would get back to Rome.
Rome would have to send out legions at great expense.
And Caesar would ask him, what brought on this revolt?
And he'd say, well, I refuse to execute one man.
And Caesar would say, you got to be kidding me.
One man, and you're costing us billion, what would be the equivalent of billions of dollars?
They'd be like having the war in Iran or Iraq that they're proposing, you know, the war in Iraq that we've had in the war in Iran that they're proposing.
And of course, Caesar, having more sense than George W. Bush or Obama or George H.W. Bush, would have been rather peeved at that whole episode.
So Pontius Pilate tried to use some psychology.
He said, look, this is a feast day and I have the opportunity to pardon one prisoner.
Who do you want me to pardon?
Barabbas, the worst guy in the jailhouse, or Jesus?
And the crowd said, give us Barabbas.
And then he said, what shall I do with Jesus?
And they said, let him be crucified.
And then Pontius Pilate, in a great move, said, I wash my hands of this innocent man's blood.
And the Jewish crowd shouted back, let his blood be upon us and upon our descendants forever.
That is what is called the blood curse.
They brought that curse upon themselves, supposedly, according to, it's either the book of Matthew or the book of Mark.
I forget which one it is.
One of those gospels that starts with an M.
Now this is the, you know, apparently you never mention this anymore in a Christian church.
And you have people like John Hagee who believe in something called the dual covenant.
In other words, everybody except Jews has to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior in order to be saved.
But Jews can be saved without accepting or embracing Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
This is heresy, people.
This is apparently what is now required of a Christian in order to pass muster in places like Great Neck Long Island, Greenwich Village, San Francisco, the Castro District and Hollywood, the places where the opinions of people really matter.
The fact that most of the people in the great American desert don't believe this, their views don't count.
