But if it is the case that the far-right is now more tolerant of left-wing views, of center-left libertarians, and of drag performers, then the far-right has become extremely tolerant, and there is something wrong with the narrative being espoused by the media and by people like Ryan Broderick and other activists like Far-Right Watch.

It's not right.

From Indie 100, London drag queen Vanity Vaughn Glow performed at a far-right rally and now she's losing bookings.
Vanity Vaughn Glow is a regular act at LGBT plus venues and performed on the main stage at Pride in London 2017, but she is now losing bookings amid outrage at her appearance at the Day for Freedom event on Sunday.
A number of controversial right-wing personalities appeared alongside Vanity at the free speech event, including conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos, co-founder and former leader of the English Defense League Tommy Robinson, and editor-in-chief of Breitbart News London Raheem Kassam.
Canadian alt-right activist Lauren Southern, who has been banned from entering Britain for life, also spoke at the event via video link.
Members of the far-right-linked Democratic Football Lads Alliance, founded by Robinson, and the Veterans Against Terrorism group were also in attendance, both of which had previously taken part in marches branded Islamophobic by Stand Up To Racism.
Following fierce backlash from the LGBT community, London queer bar Her Upstairs cancelled Vandy's performance on Sunday night and released a statement that said she will no longer be booked by Her Upstairs as it stands.
The venue explained, The Day of Freedom was deemed far-right propaganda masquerading as the promotion of freedom of speech.
Primary endorsers and organizers stand for fundamental values that directly contradict what we believe in, and we cannot ignore this fact.
After requests from fans, the Phoenix Artist Club also canceled the drag artist's appearance at their upcoming A Night in Soho event.
In a statement, the venue added, Vanity Vonglo spoke about the right of free expression.
that has been made between our club and the right-wing speakers at this rally,
and we think Vanity and Time will regret her decision."
Vanity Vonglo spoke about the right of free expression.
That includes everybody and is not a left or right-wing issue.
Count Dankula specifically denounced Nazism and far-right ideologies and warned,
giving power to the government may result eventually in a far-right government coming
to power and using those same laws against you, and that was part of his opposition.
He said anyone was welcome to come to the UK so long as they agreed on certain values.
If these are the fundamental values that Her Upstairs disagrees with, does that mean Her Upstairs opposes the right to self-expression and opposes immigration?
I think their statement is very confused.
That's just my opinion, but let's move on.
Vanity also explained the lineup also included YouTuber Sargon of Akkad, Shazia Hobbs, and Gavin McInnes, and that she accepted the request to make an appearance because she felt she would be a hypocrite to only champion free speech when it suits my own ideological ends.
But let's take a look at how the crowd reacted to the introduction of a drag performer.

Next, we are stereotyped as... We're stereotyped as fags, as racist, as far-right, as intolerant.
There are some brave ladies about to come up onto the stage.
These are quite well known within the drag queen circles in London.
A very left-wing movement.
It takes guts for them to come here as everyone would predict or the media would portray you people as intolerant.
I want you to give them a massive warm welcome onto the stage.
And the third song, it's the third song.
The lyrics in the third song tell exactly why we're here.
Alright, you guys can't see anything below my waist, but let me tell you, my legs look fucking fantastic.
I'm gonna sing a few songs for you.
That's if you'll allow me.

The crowd cheered, the crowd yelled yes, and Vanity went on to perform.
And in my opinion, Vanity was really good!
I was shocked.
I was backstage doing some interviews when I heard her performance, and I was actually able to interview her afterwards and ask her why she performed and if she felt she would face a backlash from doing this performance.
unidentified
Yes, hello, I'm the internationally ignored superstar of Fantasy Conflict.
And I'm a singer.
And I'm also very famous in Japan.
tim pool
You just performed here at the Day for Freedom?
unidentified
Yes.
tim pool
What brings you here?
What brought you to perform here?
unidentified
You know... I never think I have any of the answers to anything.
I'm too whimsical.
The only way that you can get towards an answer in any situation is by discussing it.
So I think it's really, really important that we defend free speech where we can.
Because it's sort of the device by which we can come to righteous conclusions.
So I wanted to be here. I also wanted to be here because, you know, obviously Milo's here, and she's gay.
But actually, by and large, the community that I serve and work for,
I don't think they necessarily privilege to use one of my favourite words.
They don't necessarily privilege the concept of free speech in 2018 as much as they should, and it's very much my view that free speech is how we got to our current state of freedom.
So I'm here to represent that freedom against all others.
I would say I'm a...
Do you think you're going to get any negative reaction to European party events?
Well, one of my favourite people at the moment is Georgian Peterson, who I'm sure everybody here loves.
And one of my favourite things that he talks about is the hierarchy of quality.
And you know how I think that there are certain performers who might be shy of doing an event like this because they work when they hitch their wagon to a political ideology, and that's not me.
I'm a singer.
I play an instrument.
I've got a show that I love that's very well attended.
So I'm like, any backlash is like, well, I'm just doing my job.
I'm here to come and You know, maybe, maybe, maybe I'll get an egg thrown at me.
I mean, so is an egg making or what?
Any final thoughts you want to say about anything before we go?
It's also my birthday, so happy birthday to me.
Your birthday?
Happy birthday!
tim pool
Alright, thank you very much.

You're very welcome.

It's a scary vision of a future.
If the left truly does hold institutional power in media and academia, and they really believe that guilt by association is the rule, is law, then we are looking at a terrifying future.
Many people associated with the outgroup, or whatever you want to call it, some people on the right, some on the Anti-SJW, whatever it is, believe in libertarian values.
And I don't mean big L libertarian, I mean simply anti-authoritarian.
And those in what we describe as the left support guilt by association, meaning even if you believe in free speech, even if you, like Count Dankula, denounce the far right and Nazism, you are still wrong and they will oppose your principles.
Simply because you associate with people they do not like.
That is terrifying, because that means at the end of the day, whatever this faction is, Far-Right Watch, these media outlets, are ultimately defending Far-Right ideologies that they claim to be criticizing, because they would denounce anyone who would speak out against these ideologies, simply because they attended an event with someone who holds an opinion they don't like.
I think we need to be very careful about listening to or supporting individuals who don't have principles.
Who would deny fundamental rights given to the LGBT community, like a drag performer, Vanity Von Glow, who would deplatform her, tell her she will regret her decision, and they don't support her values, even though she spoke about freedom of speech, simply because they do not like some of the speakers there.
That is scary.
This was an event that was considered to be relatively diverse.
I think most of the speakers were conservative.
I believe the organizers were conservative.
But you had some left-wing speakers, like Count Dankula, most notably.
Sargon of Akkad, who considers himself center-left libertarian.
And, by the love of God, a drag performer who performed at Pride London and performs at other gay establishments.
This is not a singular far-right event.
And before I finish, let me give a special honorable mention to Ryan Broderick, who is the Deputy Global News Director at BuzzFeed.
He tweeted, A UK drag queen at a protest against globalism is singing
Shania Twain's, a Canadian, song because Twain said she would have hypothetically voted for
Trump in the US presidential election Hashtag day for freedom.
No.
This was not a protest against globalism.
And for the 87th time, Count Dankula actually welcomed individuals from all over the world to come to his country so long as they upheld certain values.
Why BuzzFeed would like to post something so disingenuous on a verified account, why the deputy global news director would be intellectually dishonest, beats the hell out of me.
I don't believe BuzzFeed actually wrote about the event, but many outlets called it a far-right event, and they could have easily called it something else.
They could have easily said it was a free speech event attended by many people who are considered right-wing, or, if they want to call them far-right, I'm pretty shocked to find that the far-right cheers and screams for drag performers, because that's just strange to me.
But if it is the case that the far-right is now more tolerant of left-wing views, of center-left libertarians, and of drag performers, then the far-right has become extremely tolerant and there is something wrong with the narrative being espoused by the media and by people like Ryan Broderick and other activists like Far-Right Watch.
Something isn't right.
But what isn't right?
Comment below and let me know what you think about all this.
I'm particularly worried about a future where people aren't actually fighting for core principles and fundamental values.
When they denounce values like free speech and immigration simply because they don't like some of the speakers.
Again, comment below.
We'll keep the conversation going.
