The Golden One - Marcus Follin - The European Union – Abolish or Reform? Aired: 2025-12-09 Duration: 10:06 === Captain's Mismanagement (03:23) === [00:00:00] What to do with the EU, you might ask. [00:00:03] To abolish it or to reform it? [00:00:06] Something needs to change. [00:00:08] That much is clear. [00:00:10] I will use a metaphor of a big beautiful battleship. [00:00:15] It's a powerful ship and vast amounts of time and resources been poured into the creation of this big, beautiful and powerful ship. [00:00:28] However, it's going in the wrong direction. [00:00:32] The captain is greatly incompetent. [00:00:35] The crew is bad as well. [00:00:37] They are mismanaging this fine ship. [00:00:42] The ship itself, it doesn't plot its own course. [00:00:46] It goes where the captain determines that it should go. [00:00:52] So the EU, in this case, it goes in a very bad direction, which is very bad for the peoples of Europe. [00:01:01] Now, the EU is an inanimate object. [00:01:05] It's not even an object. [00:01:08] It's a set of laws, a framework of legislation, if you will. [00:01:15] It doesn't have an agency of its own. [00:01:18] That's my main point here. [00:01:20] Same thing if we're talking about a political party. [00:01:23] The party does not have an agency of its own. [00:01:28] The people who are running the party, they have an agency. [00:01:32] You can use a historical example. [00:01:34] You can look at the Catholic Church, which today is a very anti-European institution. [00:01:41] Compare this to the Middle Ages when the Pope called for crusades to defend Europe. [00:01:49] Two completely different things. [00:01:51] Why is that? [00:01:53] Yes, because ultimately it's not the institution itself that has an agency or a direction. [00:01:59] It's about who calls the shots. [00:02:03] Who's in charge? [00:02:04] Who's the captain? [00:02:05] That determines the direction, the institution or whatever it might be. [00:02:13] Small thing as a local party, big thing as the EU or the Catholic Church. [00:02:19] So when I encourage young guys to go into politics or to go into institutions of power, it is with this knowledge that you need to keep in mind that you as a person you have agency. [00:02:33] An inanimate object or an institution such as a political party does not have an agency of its own. [00:02:41] This can switch from year to year depending on who is in charge. [00:02:46] So humans, like the gun debate in the US, guns don't kill people, people kill people. [00:02:54] It's a good saying. [00:02:55] Same thing here. [00:02:56] A party doesn't do anything on its own. [00:02:58] The people in the party, they are doing things. [00:03:01] Same thing with the EU. [00:03:04] Who is in charge? [00:03:05] Now we have anti-European individuals incompetent as well. [00:03:12] So we need to replace them. [00:03:13] We can only do that if we get good guys into positions of political power. [00:03:19] So we have some good guys also in the EU Parliament as we speak. === Europe's Unifying Call (06:42) === [00:03:23] We just need more of them. [00:03:25] Then someone might say, oh, but the metaphysical foundations of the EU, they are built on economy and trade and everything like that. [00:03:35] Again, this can change in a year. [00:03:38] It all depends on who is in charge. [00:03:42] Who is the individual who sits by the levers of power? [00:03:48] Who are the guys and girls who push the buttons in the parliament? [00:03:52] That is what is interesting. [00:03:54] So it's all about humans. [00:03:55] It always comes down to what human is in which position. [00:04:02] What moral framework does he or she operate within? [00:04:05] What zeitgeist is influencing his or her behaviour. [00:04:09] So that's where we come into the meta-political battle where we can actually influence policy from the outside. [00:04:16] So we need metapolitical pressure and we need political pressure. [00:04:22] So both are true. [00:04:23] Now, anyway, that said for the EU, I view it as a powerful ship that needs to be used for something good because it needs to be used. [00:04:34] Otherwise, we will be at the mercy of greater powers. [00:04:38] To use an example, if Russia were to invade Estonia tomorrow, there is nothing Estonia could do against Russia. [00:04:46] However, a strong EU led by someone competent, such as myself, if I may be so bold, or someone at least adhering to my vision and teachings, could simply say no. [00:05:01] This can of course only be done if we first restore order to Europe by initiating a large-scale re-migration process. [00:05:09] But my point here is that geopolitically speaking, Europe needs to be united and strong, otherwise we will be at the mercy of others. [00:05:17] Same thing as I made a video earlier this year about Donald Trump talking about annexing Greenland. [00:05:24] Now I admire Donald Trump and I want the best for my brothers and sisters in Finland, in the new world. [00:05:31] But when it comes to geopolitics, it's just a statement of facts that Donald Trump could do it because Europe is weak. [00:05:41] If we want to avoid these things, Europe needs to be strong and united. [00:05:46] Imagine the following, that a Chinese fishing fleet is destroying the environment somewhere in the world. [00:05:56] Could a country well past its military prime, such as my own beloved Sweden, nothing we can do to China, nothing we can say to China to get them to stop. [00:06:08] However, if an emperor of Europe, if an executive of Europe, of the EU, or a formed EU would say to the Chinese leadership that you are not allowed to destroy these ecological systems, they would say, okay, cool, I understand. [00:06:27] I understand your perspective. [00:06:29] We will give different directives to our fishing fleets. [00:06:34] We have a global responsibility. [00:06:36] We have a responsibility towards Mother Nature. [00:06:40] And we can only take that responsibility if we are strong. [00:06:44] And we can only be strong if we are united. [00:06:47] Now, personally, I would like to see many reforms being done to the EU. [00:06:51] I might make a podcast episode about it where I go in depth because shorter video is quite hard to talk about all of the reforms. [00:07:00] But simply put, I would like to see a smaller but stronger EU, so cut away a lot of the bloated bureaucracy, for the EU to stop micromanaging the affairs of the individual member states and focus on military strength, [00:07:18] projecting global power, doing cool things, and by cool things I mean scientific experiments, creating an economic environment that is good for growth so that we can have good nice strong European companies that can actually be competitive. [00:07:34] Now something else I want to say is that when we're talking about a unified Europe this does not mean that all Europeans need to become the same but the EU is not the main driver here. [00:07:46] It's globalization overall. [00:07:48] So you have the same guy in New Zealand, Portugal, Norway, Canada, and California. [00:07:55] It's the same guy. [00:07:56] Basically, you've grown up with World of Warcraft or Age of Empires. [00:08:01] You've grown up watching Lord of the Rings. [00:08:03] You're into Warhammer, you're into the gym, you have the same perspective. [00:08:07] So you are the same guy. [00:08:09] Now, when I say that we are the same guy, you are the same guy, it's a fun way of saying that the current culture goes across borders. [00:08:18] So, and that has nothing to do with the EU. [00:08:21] We become more similar for better or worse. [00:08:23] I don't see any problem with it, to be honest. [00:08:26] But if you look at empires, historically speaking as well, you can still retain your local identity. [00:08:32] You can still retain your national identity despite being in an empire. [00:08:37] So, to conclude, my main point, and this is of utmost importance, because this is an insight that will save the West and save the world. [00:08:48] An institution does not have agency of its own. [00:08:52] What matters is who is in charge. [00:08:56] This is true for the moderate political party in Sweden. [00:09:00] This is true for the EU, this is true for the Catholic Church, this is true for the Freemasons, this is true for your local football team. [00:09:10] What matters is who is in charge, who sets the course. [00:09:15] The EU in the correct leadership. [00:09:17] And again, I encourage all young men go into politics. [00:09:21] Try to get into positions of power so that we can all steer this ship in a healthy direction. [00:09:28] Because now, let's be clear, it's going towards some cliffs. [00:09:33] It will crash and sink unless we can actually steer it in a better direction. [00:09:39] So, that is what's at stake. [00:09:41] But my point is that an object, an institution, does not have an agency of its own. [00:09:48] It's about who steers the ship. [00:09:52] Second point: we need a unified Europe to project global strength in order to take our responsibility as guardians of Mother Nature. [00:10:01] Very simple stuff indeed. [00:10:03] So, anyway, thank you for watching and thank you for your support.
