The Golden One - Marcus Follin - Essential Washing Wisdom – Organic Cotton, Wool, Linen Aired: 2022-01-13 Duration: 03:46 === Take Care of Your Clothes (03:45) === [00:00:01] Greetings, Larringtons. [00:00:03] First and foremost, I do salute you for watching this video. [00:00:06] I understand it's not the most exciting of topics, but it's important at least. [00:00:11] So I will get straight into it so that you can take with you this into your life and make your life better by making your clothes last longer and look better. [00:00:22] So if we're talking about certain materials that are sensitive, sensitive in the way that they can react poorly upon being washed in a ruthless manner. [00:00:33] So if we have organic cotton, for example, this is organic cotton. [00:00:37] Feels absolutely great, mate, to have on. [00:00:40] It just feels good to have it on and it looks good, feels fresh. [00:00:44] So it's good in a lot of ways, but you have to be careful when you wash it. [00:00:48] So don't wash it in over 30 degrees Celsius, otherwise it might be damaged. [00:00:54] Same thing with such a glorious material as the good old wool. [00:00:58] So you have this Atlantic marine wool sweater. [00:01:02] Wool is supremely sensitive when it comes to heat. [00:01:05] So absolutely no higher than 30 degrees. [00:01:08] If your washing machine has the option of a hand wash, go with that. [00:01:13] If you can choose the rotations per minute, go with the lowest, which is usually 400. [00:01:18] Same thing if we're talking about linen, very sensitive to hot temperatures. [00:01:23] So go the same thing there. [00:01:24] If you have a zipper on, make sure to sip it up and also make sure to, with most garments, to turn them inside out. [00:01:33] Then also, if we have something that is water printed, so have this. [00:01:37] This is water printed. [00:01:38] This is how this looks like when you have washed it in 90 degrees. [00:01:42] So you see it's not as vivid as this. [00:01:47] Perhaps you can't see all too much of a difference, but there is a noticeable difference. [00:01:51] This is as it should be. [00:01:53] This has been washed in 30 degrees, 400 rotations per minute, so a low agitation wash. [00:02:00] And this has been mugged in the washing machine. [00:02:03] So you can see the difference there. [00:02:05] This is more vivid. [00:02:06] So if you want to keep the colours, especially when you have waterprint, and water print is when something is in the cloth as opposed to on the cloth. [00:02:14] So here is embroidered, by the way. [00:02:16] This is printed in the cloth. [00:02:18] Then also you can have sometimes it's on the cloth. [00:02:22] It feels a bit different. [00:02:23] So if it's in the cloth, even more important for you to wash it carefully. [00:02:26] So the new releases, they have some water print as well. [00:02:29] So don't wash it. [00:02:32] Don't wash the new glorious garments in over 30 degrees. [00:02:35] Use a low agitation program, so a low rotations per minute, and you can hang them to dry as well. [00:02:43] So if you will be a bit more wet when they get out of the washing machine, then you hang them to dry. [00:02:50] That will also have the added benefit of that they will be less wrinkly when you take them out as well. [00:02:56] Because when you hang them to dry, they will smoothen themselves out more. [00:03:00] Then of course you can use an iron to make it even smoother and better. [00:03:05] But anyway, to conclude, if you have certain materials such as organic cotton, wool, linen, when you have cotton with a water print, do be mindful, don't wash them in over 30 degrees Celsius. [00:03:18] Use 400 rotations per minute and turn them inside out, hang them to dry. [00:03:24] So anyway, again, not the most exciting video perhaps, but do this and your garments will hold longer. [00:03:33] Take care of your clothes and they will take care of you. [00:03:36] Thank you for watching and thank you to everyone who has ordered from the new releases. [00:03:40] If you haven't checked them out, first link in the description box below. [00:03:45] Now, thank you for watching.
