[00:00:03]  I am checking in from Total War Warhammer 2, one of the greatest games of all time.
[00:00:10]  Shout out to my man Jan from the Czech Republic for gifting me this fine game.
[00:00:17]  And as you see before you, if you are a fellow Warhammer enjoyer, you might say that there's some new artwork greeting us at the new starting page.
[00:00:28]  So you see on the left hand side you have some beastmen causing mayhem carnage driven by resentiment.
[00:00:37]  Resentiment, as I mentioned in my two previous videos against the glorious lizardmen, as you can see on your right hand side here.
[00:00:46]  So we're gonna get into the campaigns.
[00:00:50]  I just want to say that I did actually paint some lizardmen the other day.
[00:00:54]  You can see them before you right now.
[00:00:57]  Quite aesthetic, if I may be so bold.
[00:01:00]  Let me know in the comment section if I may actually be so bold, if they are supremely aesthetic.
[00:01:06]  That's for a game called Warhammer Underworlds.
[00:01:09]  So it's a miniature game, really good.
[00:01:13]  One of the best games I've ever played.
[00:01:15]  I will make a separate video on it.
[00:01:17]  So anyway, let's get into the campaign at hand.
[00:01:21]  I go with the Eye of the Vortex.
[00:01:25]  So we have three new characters.
[00:01:28]  We have first and foremost.
[00:01:32]  A chameleon skink.
[00:01:35]  So that's sort of a scout skink.
[00:01:41]  And if you don't know, the lizardmen here are based on Central American civilizations, so Aztecs and Mayans.
[00:01:50]  But this Lizardmen, they are a bit nicer than the actual Aztecs were.
[00:01:54]  So they are good guys in this game.
[00:01:57]  So anyway, we could play with this guy.
[00:02:00]  Has a lot of different faction effects.
[00:02:03]  I'm not gonna go through them.
[00:02:05]  I will have a look at his nemesis then, who should be the brass bull, Taurox.
[00:02:15]  So it's a massive Minotaur covered in brass.
[00:02:20]  I can guess that he is quite high thumos, high testosterone beast.
[00:02:26]  Of course, as I might have mentioned at some previous stage, Minotaur is my favorite mythological creature.
[00:02:34]  I went to Crete when I was five or six and we visited the Knossos.
[00:02:42]  So ever since then, I've had a Minotaur as my primordial beast.
[00:02:48]  Totem creature.
[00:02:50]  Something like that at least.
[00:02:52]  So anyway, he has a lot of different cool effects here.
[00:02:57]  And yeah, I haven't played this yet, so not quite sure how he works.
[00:03:04]  But we have a third individual.
[00:03:06]  Master of the weapon shops.
[00:03:09]  Master of the weapon shops, Thoric Ironbrow.
[00:03:12]  So these are quite similar to the dwarves you would see in Lord of the Rings.
[00:03:18]  So Gimli and those lads.
[00:03:20]  The exception here though is that these Laddingtons here in Warhammer also have access to gunpowder.
[00:03:28]  So they can have a lot of cool gunpowder units.
[00:03:32]  And you see here he also has a whole host of different special effects.
[00:03:39]  So we're gonna get straight into the game with one of these new heroes and I think I will actually go with Thoric Ironbrow.
[00:03:50]  It's quite hot here in Sweden.
[00:03:52]  I have taken a full scoop of Varlsbrugged.

=== Powerful Ancient Relics (02:43) ===

[00:03:56]  Gonna go out in nature soon, do some calisthenics, some chins and dips, and go for a walk.
[00:04:04]  But before I begin to do so, and before I before the Vorlsbrigd kicks in, I will just have a quick look at this dwarves.
[00:04:14]  So we're gonna get straight into it.
[00:04:16]  And as you can see, I am an enjoyer here, so I always play on legendary, on the campaign difficulty, and battle difficulty hard.
[00:04:25]  So, yeah, suitable climate jungle.
[00:04:27]  And since it feels like a jungle here where I'm checking in from, I think it's only reasonable.
[00:04:34]  So, let's get into it.
[00:04:38]  Powerful and ancient relics of the ancestors.
[00:04:41]  I like that.
[00:04:42]  I like the sound of it.
[00:04:44]  It stirs something primordial within me.
[00:04:49]  Good times, good times.
[00:04:52]  From one land infested with blasted Raki to another, it seems the only difference is the eight.
[00:05:00]  These vermin best stay out of my way, else they'll meet the mighty steel of my amma.
[00:05:08]  It seems a local clan has made their home here.
[00:05:12]  Might be they know something about the ancient vaults that lie hidden in these strange mountains.
[00:05:20]  This forsaken continent may be where the purpose of my journey is fulfilled.
[00:05:26]  If the old texts speak true, a trove of ancient Dowie artifacts lays buried somewhere near, hidden amidst these strange, forgotten ruins of centuries past.
[00:05:41]  This land could hold the key to restoring the proud legacy of our people.
[00:05:48]  In King Cassador's name, I will unearth the lost relics of our ancestors and bring glory to the Dowie once more.
[00:06:02]  That sounds quite good.
[00:06:06]  Quite good indeed.
[00:06:07]  It sounds like something I could have said if we had some ancient relics to unearth here in good old Scandinavia.
[00:06:16]  I would do it to bring honor and glory.
[00:06:21]  So we have Gotri Grimeson and I will embed him in this army so that we can attack Nostril Damnus.
[00:06:31]  So I suppose that's a reference to the prophet Nostradamus.

=== Nice Battle Maneuver (07:38) ===

[00:06:40]  So yeah, we're gonna do it.
[00:06:44]  We're gonna see if we can get a nice battle in here.
[00:06:50]  Okay, so this is actually a new feature in the game.
[00:06:52]  Out resolve outcome.
[00:06:53]  Battle result Pyrrhic victory.
[00:06:55]  Casualties medium.
[00:06:57]  But I will actually take the battle manually.
[00:07:00]  Since yeah, since it's a let's play video and you can see the nice landscape here as well.
[00:07:06]  I'm getting into the jungle fills.
[00:07:09]  Good times, good times.
[00:07:10]  So I have some runes and banners here.
[00:07:13]  Adds explosive damage that reduces enemy leadership.
[00:07:17]  Boom.
[00:07:18]  We're gonna put it on our Grudge Thrower and bonus against Lodge.
[00:07:25]  We're gonna put them on these longbeards.
[00:07:30]  And now we're gonna fight.
[00:07:35]  So we are in the battle.
[00:07:37]  And I will deploy my little army here.
[00:07:41]  So I'm just gonna go through our units here first.
[00:07:44]  We have some quarrellers, so crossbowmen.
[00:07:49]  Two units, which we'll have to use in a good manner.
[00:07:52]  So you can see the enemy they outnumber us quite a bit so we need to be we need to be intelligent about our unit devel unit deployment.
[00:08:03]  Then we have of course a few units of infantry and a grudge thrower unit so catapults and then we have our main guy here Thoric Ironbrow and a support specialist who I suppose I can cast magic to bolster our other units.
[00:08:26]  So since we do have a long range unit we can actually deploy a bit further back here so we can get get off more volleys before they come at us.
[00:08:39]  So yeah they can get tired coming to us and we'll melt them with our units here.
[00:08:50]  I'm just going to place them here in a nice defensive position, something like that.
[00:09:01]  And then our quarrelers, they will have a four-hole position and then I will move them back.
[00:09:10]  So now we're ready to start the battle and as is my custom when making these total war videos which I have made since 2014 imagine that I will use a few edits here and there and fast forward a bit like I'm doing now in order to speed things up a bit.
[00:09:29]  So now we can see that our Grudge throwers they have began the bombardment.
[00:09:36]  So we're gonna target their most dangerous troops which I suppose would be the poisoned wind globadiers and it's already doing it which is nice.
[00:09:51]  Or we could target these guys in case it misses it might hit the scaven slave slingers back here.
[00:10:01]  So anyway good thing that I deployed a bit further back here so we can get a nice few shots off.
[00:10:08]  So you see this bar here, the light brown one, it's the amount of ammunition you have.
[00:10:15]  So still have quite a bit of ammunition and now our quarrellers have begun shooting as well.
[00:10:22]  Good times, good times.
[00:10:24]  And what we could do is try to focus on one enemy unit so that they might break and flip.
[00:10:37]  Hopefully they will break and flip any moment now.
[00:10:40]  You can see their leadership is the grey bar here.
[00:10:45]  But alas, it doesn't quite look like we can do it.
[00:10:56]  well.
[00:11:03]  And now we have to engage all of our melee troops.
[00:11:11]  Still hopefully we can defend the Grudge Thrower so it can continue to shoot so it doesn't get engaged in combat.
[00:11:35]  So I'm using some magic here, or rune magic, on our troops to bolster their armor.
[00:11:48]  And of course this Two heroes, Thoric and Gotri.
[00:11:54]  They need to get into combat ASAP.
[00:11:58]  And now, as you can see, our crossbowmen, they are getting into a nice flanking position here and they can shoot this Skaven slaves in the back, which is highly optimal.
[00:12:14]  Now you can see they're wavering.
[00:12:16]  The Skaven slaves, not the best, not the most formidable enemies, fortunately for us.
[00:12:24]  So I'm casting the Rune of Speed here.
[00:12:29]  The Clans unites and now you can see our nice flanking maneuver here.
[00:12:42]  Shooting this bustad in the back.
[00:12:45]  Now you can see our Grudge throwers, they're still firing away.
[00:12:50]  So it's important to protect your artillery.
[00:12:57]  And now, you can see here, this is the Nostradamus.
[00:13:02]  So he needs to die.
[00:13:06]  We're attacking their general with both of our heroes.
[00:13:10]  So you can see his duel here.
[00:13:15]  Boom!
[00:13:16]  Oh, he got Monk there.
[00:13:20]  Good times, good times.
[00:13:23]  And if the enemy general dies, their entire army will hopefully break and flee.
[00:13:34]  Can happen.
[00:13:35]  They will get reduced leadership.
[00:13:38]  And there we have won the battle.
[00:13:40]  Good times, good times.
[00:13:43]  So I will just end here.
[00:13:45]  Since we can't really chase any of them down.
[00:13:48]  And the Grudge Throwers ammunition is almost done.
[00:13:55]  So end battle.
[00:13:58]  A decisive victory for the dwarves of Thoric Ironbrow.
[00:14:04]  Now we have two options.
[00:14:05]  We can execute and loot, which grants us some oath gold in addition to regular treasury.
[00:14:14]  Or we can drink to victory.

=== Execute and Loot (01:14) ===

[00:14:18]  Which is quite nice.
[00:14:19]  It lasts for two turns and gives us some nice boosts to our province.
[00:14:26]  But we're actually going to execute and loot because these are heretical skaven.
[00:14:37]  So, there we are.
[00:14:39]  We have acquired a follower.
[00:14:41]  Follower gained students.
[00:14:46]  Glory.
[00:14:47]  Good times, good times.
[00:14:48]  I have also gained perhaps a follower right now that is a student.
[00:14:54]  Who knows?
