I'm checking in from beautiful Lothlorian here in Middle-earth, aka Sweden, Sweden in June.
What a time to be alive.
So today I thought to radicalize you all with my teachings, but before I begin to do so, I would like to offer a fair warning to all parents.
If you have teenage sons that watch too many of my videos, I will just give this heads up that they might start going to such extreme measures as to stop watching porn, start going to the gym, start going to read more books, start having an aversion to drugs and alcohol and start generally taking more care of their mental and physical well-being.
So be prepared for that.
Just thought to give that fair warning so you all know what is up when you come to my channel.
Now, that being said, I have a lot of fitness and health videos in incoming.
I thought about making many of these before, but then the whole censorship scandal broke, so I had to deal with that first.
But I'm trying to catch up on the videos I have promised you all, especially you on Patreon and Subscribestar.
I've said that I'll make videos on it.
This is one of them.
So shout out to you again for your support.
So basically what it means intermittent fasting, as you see in the title, is that you eat during a window during the day.
So between a few hours you can eat and you can decide yourself on how long that window will be.
So I first stumbled upon intermittent fasting via my Swedish countryman Martin Berkjan a few years back on his page LeanGains and I will link it below because it's important to give credit where credit is due and I thought it seemed perfectly reasonable everything he wrote and if you want to look at the scientific studies behind what I'm talking about you can check that out there.
I mean starting from my own personal experience.
So basically, the first step is to cut out breakfast.
Basically and that is the main point for me when I talk about intermittent fasting because most people they aren't really that hungry in the morning, and for me also, personally I like to get things done in the morning.
I don't want to waste time on making something to eat.
I can have a coffee or a tea in the morning.
I made a video a few weeks back and, to again clarify, I don't disavow coffee in the list.
I think it's a great supplement, I think it's a great light drug, as it were.
It's an uh, it's a healthy drug.
But you would care for me, it was just a personal choice of cutting down somewhat on the consumption.
But if you want to start doing intermittent fasting and you still have that hunger or craving in the morning, you can just have a cup of coffee instead and let that be your breakfast.
So that's the first step, to cut out breakfast.
Because unless you are a bulk bra or if you are younger, you're still growing and stuff you can.
You can cut out breakfast and place that those extra calories if Need them, at lunch, so lunch then becomes your first meal of the day.
And this is something I've done for seven or so years, so that lunch is the first meal.
Then, again, if it's more convenient for me to eat a breakfast or because it's part of a certain experience, so if I'm at some sort of hotel, it's a nice breakfast, of course, I will partake in it, so I'm not that static that I let it go out over my enjoyment of life, as it were.
And then, also, if I know that eating early on in the day is the only time to eat during the day because of some reasons, then I will obviously do it.
So, first step: cutting out breakfast.
And for me, it's a matter of convenience.
I just like to get a good start of the morning, get things done, and not be as dependent upon food.
And that's the second aspect I would like to enlighten you to.
It's the aspect of becoming less dependent upon food.
So, if you're used to not eating for longer periods of time, it doesn't matter if, for whatever reason, one day you are longer without meals.
So, if you get used to doing longer fasts, you can deal with certain situations in a better manner.
And then, also, if we're talking about for you who are interested in survivalism, etc., getting your body to be a bit more comfortable with going longer periods of time without food, it's obviously a very good idea.
So, for example, if I'm out and about and I eat my first meal at 16 or something like that, it's perfectly fine for me.
My cognitive ability isn't reduced, whereas if I would have been dependent upon eating every three or four hours, my cognitive ability and general mood would be lessened because you all know it's not nice to be hungry.
But if you are used to dealing with longer periods of time without eating, it will affect you less.
Then, last aspect, it's also a matter of if you want to get shredded, if you want to lose some weight, there are plenty of ways to do so.
For me, to just recommend intermittent fasting to someone, it's a good first step.
Now, keep in mind that if you want to lose weight, it's about calories in versus calories out.
So, you have to spend more calories than you take in.
And restricting your eating is a great way to not have to think all too much about what you eat.
And also, if you want to lose even more weight, you can cut out all liquid calories so that you chew all food you take in.
Then, of course, you can drink coffee, water, tea, etc., that do not have any calories in it.
But that's another aspect.
So, you eat your last meal at 20 or 22, depending on when you get home from training.
So, for me, if I train at 21, I get back at 22, perhaps, then I eat my last meal.
Or if I'm training at 19, I get back at 20 or something.
I eat my last meal, then brush my teeth, and that's the end of the day.
Now, for the sake of transparency, I'm not as strict when it comes to the evenings sometimes.
I eat anyway, but if I'm trying to get shredded, I'm more strict with the evening timing as well.
But when it comes to breakfast, it's a rarity that I eat it.
So, that was my thoughts on intermittent fasting.
I hope it was somewhat helpful and informative at least.
