The Golden One - Marcus Follin - The Testosterone Drop in Western Men Since the Introduction of Plastic - An Interesting Graph Aired: 2019-01-16 Duration: 05:31 === Declining Sperm Counts (01:59) === [00:00:00] Greetings Laddingtons. [00:00:02] I have stumbled upon this highly interesting news item and I thought to show an interesting graph so you get a better understanding of exactly why the sperm count or the testosterone of modern men have declined over all these years because I have mentioned that in a few of my recent videos that men are not as testosteronous now as they were back in the day. [00:00:30] So I'm going to start reading. [00:00:33] Sperm count zero. [00:00:35] A strange thing has happened to men over the past few decades. [00:00:39] We've become increasingly infertile. [00:00:41] So much so that within a generation we may lose the ability to reproduce entirely. [00:00:48] What's causing this mysterious drop in sperm counts and is there any way to reverse it before it's too late? [00:00:57] I'm gonna scroll down here a bit. [00:00:59] Obviously for our purposes I've talked more about testosterone but this is highly linked with each other. [00:01:05] Also speaking about linked I will link this particular article below so you can read it in its entirety. [00:01:12] I mainly wanted to show you this particular graph. [00:01:19] So we can see here mean total sperm count in millions and it started very high in the 1970s and then fast forward to 2010 we have a bit lower to say at least. [00:01:35] And then on the other side we have global plastics production millions of metric tons and that goes in the opposite direction. [00:01:47] So we can see that there is a correlation between plastics productions and a reduce in sperm count and for our purposes a reduction in testosterone. === Avoid BPA (03:31) === [00:01:59] So we can read a bit more in the article. [00:02:04] I met Anna Maria Andershon, a biologist whose research has focused on declining testosterone levels. [00:02:10] And quote, there has been a chemical revolution going on starting from the beginning of the 19th century, maybe even a bit before, she told me, and upwards and exploding after the Second World War, where hundreds of new chemicals came onto the market within a short time frame. [00:02:29] Suddenly a vast array of chemicals were entering our bloodstream, ones that no human body had ever had to deal with. [00:02:38] The chemical revolution gave us some wonderful new things. [00:02:41] New medicines, new food sources, faster and cheaper mass production of all sorts of necessary products. [00:02:47] It also gave us, Anderson pointed out, a living experiment on the human body, with absolutely no forethought to the result. [00:02:56] When a chemical affects your hormones, it is called endocrine disruptor. [00:03:01] And it turns out that many of the compounds used to make plastics soft and flexible, or to make them harder and stronger, like BPA, are consummate endocrine disruptors. [00:03:13] Phthalates and BPA, for example, mimic estrogen in the bloodstream. [00:03:16] If you're a man with a lot of phthalates in his system, you'll produce less testosterone and fewer sperm. [00:03:23] If exposed to phthalates in utero, a male fetus' reproductive system itself will be altered. [00:03:31] He will develop to be less male. [00:03:34] And I am deeply sorry if I'm completely butchering these terms. [00:03:38] But anyway, I just need to shamelessly plug our own shakers here. [00:03:43] They are, of course, made in Hungary and made BPA free. [00:03:47] So that was one of the things I thought when I started up this supplement company that, you know, we will avoid anything that is bad. [00:03:55] So BPA had to go simple as that. [00:03:58] And before you ask, no, we only ship to Sweden as it is right now, but I will update you all when we start shipping internationally or whenever we find a solution for that. [00:04:09] Anyway, point being that try to avoid BPA as far as possible. [00:04:13] And BPA can be found in water bottles and food containers and sales receipts. [00:04:18] Tailates are even more common. [00:04:21] So this fine article it continues for a good while. [00:04:26] What I would like to say also, and I will make a separate video on this later on because it's one of the most important and one of the most commonly asked questions that is how to redress a low testosterone or how to increase a testosterone. [00:04:41] The short answer is just take the glorious pill. [00:04:43] Try to live as good and high thumbs as possible. [00:04:47] Train hard, focus on the heavy basic compound movements. [00:04:51] That's the absolute first step you have to take. [00:04:53] So it's not about aesthetics. [00:04:56] It's not necessarily about even getting strong. [00:04:58] It's about maintaining a good mental health. [00:05:01] So if someone says, oh, you go to the gym because you want to look good and everything, looking good is just a side effect of it. [00:05:09] You go to the gym to optimize your health. [00:05:12] So keep that in mind. [00:05:14] Then obviously try to avoid plastic that contain BPA, for example. [00:05:19] Try to eat as good as possible. [00:05:21] So anyway, I just thought to share this interesting article with you all and I hope you have a high testosterone day ahead. [00:05:30] XOXO.
