[00:00:00]  Hello lads, the key is to get as many gaming brass into the gym as possible.
[00:00:08]  And to do this, I need to make another Let's Play video.
[00:00:12]  And I do this because we have a new DLC to one of my favorite games of all times, Warhammer Total War 2.
[00:00:21]  And this is a special character, Alith Anar.
[00:00:25]  And I have read a very good book containing him and his adventures and exploits, and that is called Shadow King.
[00:00:35]  And whenever I feel the establishment is on to me, whenever I feel the heat coming on, I draw inspiration and strength from myths, legends and stories, including fantasy and science fiction.
[00:00:53]  And this is one of the stories, guerrilla type of warfare.
[00:00:59]  Now obviously the metapolitical war looks a bit different than a fancy war involving elves, etc.
[00:01:07]  But it's good to draw inspiration from all sources you can.
[00:01:12]  So I will expound upon a few things once we get into the campaign, but I'm just gonna briefly give an introduction here.
[00:01:22]  So I'm gonna play as the high elves because I am a high elf myself.
[00:01:28]  Well, I have a beard, but anyway, we'll make an exception.
[00:01:34]  So we have Nagarith.
[00:01:38]  Initial challenge hard and some cool special things here.
[00:01:44]  Quite nice.
[00:01:45]  And campaign, very hard as usual.
[00:01:47]  Battle, we're gonna go with normal.
[00:01:50]  Because I'm more of a king than a general, I suppose, or a philosopher prince without a crown in my particular case.
[00:02:01]  But anyway, let's get into the campaign and see what the crack is.
[00:02:34]  It needs silencing.
[00:02:36]  Other heads of the Hydra high on my tally to slay reside within these frozen fortresses.
[00:02:42]  They scheme to control the vortex, which grows unstable.
[00:02:47]  If other Asa will not deal with this, then the Isle of the Dead must come under the rule of the Shadowlands.
[00:02:54]  Across the great ocean, Kane's servants threaten the heart of Ulthwa.
[00:02:59]  They control a source of great power.
[00:03:02]  One that can twist a mind, but also bestow great strength.
[00:03:07]  It must not fall into the wrong hands.
[00:03:09]  The Druki have murdered and enslaved the Asa for long enough.
[00:03:13]  Their day of reckoning is now.
[00:03:15]  Fear the shadows.
[00:03:16]  Fear my name.
[00:03:18]  Alif Anar.
[00:03:21]  Absolutely epic, in my humble view.
[00:03:26]  So we have a mission and we're actually...

[00:03:35]  Our traitorous kin seek scrolls of the witch gods, Hakati.

[00:03:40]  Quite a pleasant voice on Alith there as well.
[00:03:46]  So anyway, I was gonna say that the book Shadow King I briefly mentioned is the second book in a trilogy and the first in that trilogy is about Malakith, the Witch King which we saw later over here in Nagarond.
[00:04:03]  It was a good few years since I read it and it's not perhaps on the top priority of books you should read but I found it very good at least and I really appreciated this sort of sort of portrayal of the stealth aspect of his struggle and his various assassin-like exploits.
[00:04:32]  So yeah, that was a good book and also the reason why I got a bit excited when I saw this DLC coming out and also shout out to the true friend who gifted this to me on Steam.

[00:04:47]  And on another note before we get into the gameplay I just want to say that two things I will expound upon this on another occasion and that is the gaming question for Western guys.
[00:05:03]  It's a massive question and gaming culture is massive so I want a foothold there so I can bestow glorious pills on all gaming broths and get him into the gym.
[00:05:15]  Second thing is that I just want to say appreciate your mates and spend time with them.
[00:05:24]  That is something I have in my infinite wisdom decided to say to everyone who's listening here because I've been quite busy to say the least as of late so I haven't had nearly enough time to for my for my glorious friends.
[00:05:46]  So that was just a brief note on that.
[00:05:50]  Now we will actually do like this.
[00:05:52]  We are going to course of action in my humble view.
[00:06:05]  Salt flats that is oh look at that we have something fun Shadow Walkers and Shadow Warriors.
[00:06:17]  I am very much inclined to build such a thing We will actually do that boom I think this is reasonable But that means we can't really recruit any any new mad cunts.
[00:06:36]  So we're not gonna do that.
[00:06:37]  Shape this world, gonna go to Salt Flats and one two three boom, glorious.
[00:06:47]  And now of course we don't have anything there yet.
[00:06:50]  To research diplomacy before accepting any agreement.

[00:07:08]  Okay, so we didn't really have any diplomacy.
[00:07:10]  Let's take the turn and see what the crack is for the other factions in in the game.

[00:07:26]  We're actually in Nagaroth instead of Ultuan instead of in our, in our home in Nagarith, and I must say that Alithanar looks absolutely epic.

[00:13:14]  I think this will actually be no problem whatsoever to fight it out in the battle itself.
[00:13:22]  As you can see, as we can see, we outnumber the foe quite a bit, and I think our units are superior to them.
[00:13:37]  So yeah, let's slaughter them for the glory of Ullfwan.
[00:13:48]  Okay, we are in the battle and we all really have one interesting thing to do here and that's deploy our Shadow Walkers.

[00:14:58]  We have some sort of special ability there.
[00:15:05]  And this is then a spirit version of himself that the enemy gets tricked by.
[00:15:46]  All right, we actually have to toggle the skirmish mode there so they don't run away and And maybe I should have actually paid more attention to the, to the battle, than the, than the graphics, but the graphics are quite good so.
[00:16:06]  So that is why now we'll try to get behind them to get some cool rear shots, etc.

[00:17:40]  Well no, actually I won't blame it on anything because I agree, go with the teachings of Joko Willink and take extreme ownership.
[00:17:54]  So I don't give any excuses.
[00:17:57]  That is quite blasphemous thing to do, to be honest, to give excuses.
[00:18:04]  So I am fully responsible for my perhaps bad performance in this battle.
[00:18:14]  But we're winning at least.
[00:18:16]  So it's, it's all good, I suppose.

[00:18:29]  Now the question I want to ask, the question we all want to ask, is what to do with this captives force labor.
[00:18:39]  I think that is reasonable.
[00:18:41]  I think execute captives is also quite reasonable.
[00:18:47]  Ransom captives, we don't really need that much gold at this particular moment in time.
[00:18:56]  we're gonna force labor them so we can build something fun and I think we're gonna lay siege to this to these individuals.
[00:19:14]  They are an army of individualists.
[00:19:18]  That's why they lost.
[00:19:21]  Because they don't believe in collectivism.
[00:19:25]  I am merely jesting, of course, I'm making fun out of certain ultra-individualists.
[00:19:36]  I'm gonna go with seeking arrows because I think that sounds quite cool.
[00:19:42]  So Black Light Tower, that's just a small settlement, which means that we could probably take these lads on.
[00:19:55]  And what I will do is I will actually no, I'll take this battle in the next episode.
[00:20:03]  So this will be a not all too long episode.
[00:20:08]  And then I have a good starting point for my next one.
